Introduction And Welcome To A Disciples View With Host Todd Herman
Todd Herman God has really blessed me. He, let me work in dc, let me work with EIB and Hollywood in Silicon Valley. And he's shown me through all those experiences that there is one problem and one solution. And that's why we do this show. Welcome to a Disciples View with Todd Herman.
Good Breaking News From Washington State About Foster Parents And Religious Freedom
When the God of the universe created the world, he didn't snap his fingers or wake his eye. The Lord spoke and God said, let your lip be light because we believe, we speak about the happenings in this world, mindful that our true home is Jesus Christ and his kingdom. I'm Todd Herman. Welcome to a Disciples View. I thought I'd give you a little bit of good breaking news because it's always fun to be able to announce good breaking news, in particular if it comes out of the separate country of Washington. A married, couple there has been, doing a good job of being foster parents for years. And they had been kind, of stalled out of that, locked out of it, in a state that has one of the worst foster care systems in the entire world. And I mean foster kids being placed with, foster parents who are known drug dealers, criminal, abusers, sex abusers. I could tell you tales because I've interviewed tons of lawyers who've looked into this. This couple, was committing a thought crime. And that thought crime was that they refused to pretend, that boys are girls and girls are boys. They've now won in a settlement. Americans defending freedom helped them with this. The separate country of Washington state has agreed to let them back into the foster care system and stop trying to force people to lie. And in this case, this married couple had said that it violates their religious principles. Praise God, because they are Jesus loving Christians. A, primarily praise God for that. B, it doesn't require belief in God to know that a boy is not a girl and a girl is not a boy. So that's fantastic breaking news. And there are people who look at the world with stuff like that and say something's way wrong.
Reflections On End Times And An Understated Political Ad From Minnesota
And a lot of us do. Like something has gone way wrong. Yes, we are speeding towards the end times. I don't know when we get to the last day. I don't know when judgment day comes. Even Jesus himself said he didn't know just God. The Father knows, knew and knows. But doesn't it feel like we're speeding that way? Do you ever feel like something's being stolen from you? I mean, yeah, there's a lot that's being stolen from us. In a fallen world, there's a very clever, some would say understated ad out of the state of Minnesota. I've seen people call this weak or boomer food, and that it is not, strong enough. It's a political ad that I think is very, very well done because the people of Minnesota at whom this is aimed at, they're going to understand this ad. And I'll tell you about some of the visuals because the visual matters. This is just a little bit of it.
Political Ad Highlighting Minnesotan Values And A Feeling Of Something Being Taken
Listen to this political ad from, Minnesota for Tad Jude.
Speaker B Minnesota. We're still here. We never left. We're still in the diners that open at five in the morning, still in the churches that have stood since past generations built them, still on the docks, still in the fields, still in our favorite biking and walking paths, still in the factories, still in our police precincts. But something changed here, and most of us felt it, not as Republicans or Democrats, but as Minnesotans. Like something that belonged to us was decided for us. Like we came home one day and the house had been rearranged while we were gone.
The Bold North Identity And The Significance Of The Old Minnesota Flag
We are the land of 10,000 lakes, the bold north, the North Star State, home to people who have never once confused endurance with surrender, who have weathered every winter this place has thrown at them and come back to the ice the following year, despite how much we've been taken advantage of without even a say.
Todd Herman So there's lots of visuals that matter in that. First of all, beautiful, beautiful, drone shots and street level shots of Minnesota and the lakes and the land of many lakes, and the fact that he drives an old red BMW, an old European car, German to be precise. And it was a time when Minnesota was peopled with a lot of Lutheran immigrants. There's also subtly at first, and then much more boldly, the fact that, he and that in that commercial is flying the old Minnesota flag.
Debating The Old Minnesota Flag's Meaning And Warnings Of Election Fraud
You can make an argument that the old Minnesota flag, is discounts, Native Americans. You can make that argument if you don't remember there's someone plowing his field, a settler plowing his field as a Native American is riding off into the sunset. And you can interpret that as, yeah, we kicked them out of here. You can also interpret that as, hey, they're going their way, we're going ours. But without really, any support from Minnesotans, they changed that flag. And you'll remember the events where at that event, as they announced the new flag that looks a lot like the flag of Somalia, that they also thanked Somalian immigrants for helping to build Minnesota So that flag, the original state flag of Minnesota, is featured first subtly and then more boldly under the American flag. And again under the American flag even more boldly. in the commercial, Tad Jude, who's running to be Secretary of State, is seen going through some, newspaper clippings. One of them talks about early warnings of fraud. Yeah, there were tons of warnings about fraud.
Keith Ellison And Tim Waltz Accused Of Covering Up Fraudulent Activity
But Keith Ellison, who is, a guy who agreed to help cover up fraud using his office as Attorney General, he's on audiotape agreeing to help Somalian fraudsters cover up their crimes. They told him, this is what we're going to need from you. He refused to investigate it. Tim Waltz refused to do anything about it. So he's scanning through that headline.
Rural Minnesotans' Connection To Their State And Concerns About Mass Migration
Then he, goes past an article, a clipping about how many Minnesotans refused to fly the new flag. Rural Minnesotans. He's speaking to rural Minnesotans. He's speaking to third and fourth generation, fifth generation Minnesotans. This is our state. And if you prefer to view that as white supremacy, okay, you can do that. I don't think that's what it is. It's the fact that there are cities in Minnesota that have been stolen by forced mass migration. Some of it legal, most of it gray area, meaning people who claim refugee status but, tend to go back in vacation at home. You know, they were terrified that they were going to be murdered in Somalia, which is why they go and send money home and build militias at home with money and why they go visit and why many of them say they can't wait to go home, and why they have, a member of Congress who says she's here to build power for Somalia.
Ad Recognizing Minnesotans' Concerns About Their State Being Legally Stolen
So a lot of Minnesotans are going to recognize that ad for what it is. Our state is being stolen from us legally, you might say, because the federal government can do that. But it's all gray area. It's a good ad. See, there's a lot of people who are observing stuff being stolen from them.
Canadian Nationals Registering To Vote Illegally In Washington State
In, in this audio clip, you're going to hear that Canadian nationals are being registered to vote in Washington state.
Dr. Jessica Peck Federal government is alleging Adamson falsely represented herself as a US Citizen and that she had voted illegally.
Todd Herman I was shocked.
Dr. Jessica Peck And like, within the first hours, like, what is going on here? This has never happened before.
Immigration Attorney Discusses Voter Registration Issues for Canadian Nationals
Adamson is one of a growing number of Canadian nationals who are U.S. green card holders running into border trouble. Len Saunders is an immigration attorney based in Blaine, Washington.
Speaker D Either went into DMV and registered because there was no kind of questions on their citizenship and they naively thought that they could do it, or they just received in the mail a voter registration card, you know, usually after renewing their driver's license online. And lo and behold, they received in the mail a ballot.
Dr. Jessica Peck Len says this kind of mistake was easily forgiven in the past, but now it's a whole different story.
Consequences of False Citizenship Claims And Unlawful Voting
Speaker D Whether they did it knowingly or not, they're still charged with false claims of U.S. citizenship. And number two, the actual action of voting, signing the ballot and mailing it in unlawful voting. So all of these people have been charged with two grounds of deportation.
Todd Herman Good bye. one does not mistakenly vote.
Ease Of Mail-In Ballot Theft In Washington State And Employee Misconduct
Now, in the separate country of Washington, it's easy to steal mail in ballots. Every single election cycle, everyone, this one included. We see videos and images of ballots stolen out of mailboxes dumped on the side of the street. There was a video a couple election cycles ago of a U.S. postal Service employee dumping ballots in a dumpster rather than delivering them in a Republican neighborhood.
California Admits Inability To Track Illegal Immigrant Voting
So a lot's being stolen. Remember this, in the separate country of California, they admitted in court, we have no way of knowing if illegal immigrants or noncitizens are voting. They choose not to know. So go out and vote. I mean it.
Call For Christians To Be Excellent Citizens And Vote With Prayer
Christians have to vote. We don't have a choice. We are to be excellent citizens. When the pagans criticize us, it's to be because we've done good. So go vote. We have to. The world is asking the opinion of the ambassadors of Christ, so we have to voice his opinion. A reminder, he doesn't have opinions. He has facts. Pray over your ballots that they're not stolen and that election fraud does not succeed in your state.
Alberta Referendum On Leaving Canada And Immigration Control
Now, the United States is one thing internationally, across the border in Canada. A few days ago, October 19th, there was a big referendum, vote to the people. One measure failed, and that was to remain in Canada. There was a big move in Alberta, for Alberta to leave Canada. So these are Alberta referendums.
Alberta Votes On Limiting Services, Wait Times, And Proof Of Citizenship For Voting
24% wanted to start the process. 76% wanted to remain in in Canada. But to start the process of separating from Canada. Well, let's look at some of the ways they're separating from Canada. These are the other election results of that day. Immigration control. Should Albertans have more control of immigration? 59% yes. Limit services. Should Alberta limit access to certain services to non residents? 57% yes. 12 month wait. Should newcomers wait 12 months for certain benefits? 58% yes. Fees for non permanent residents. Should Alberta charge fees for Non permanent residents? 57% yes. Proof of citizenship. to Vote. Should voters be required to prove citizenship? 63% yes. Now, see, these all are sometimes colored as, populist positions. Because it's populism if you want people to prove they're legally allowed to vote.
CEO Demands Wealth Tax, Suggesting Government Seize Up To 100% Of Wealth
So even Canada, well, at least Alberta, a lot of people feel like things are being stolen from them. Scott Kirby, who is the CEO of United Airlines, is demanding a massive wealth tax up to, as I understand it, from media reports, up to 100%. After a certain amount of money, he thinks the government should seize. 100%. He's worth between 125 million and $132 million.
Criticism Of Airline's Pricing Strategies And Executive Compensation
And he feels that the United States of America is not taxed enough. We don't have a spending problem now, mind you. his company wants to charge you a, massive amount of money to be able to select your seat in the middle row in the back of the airplane. They charge you extra money, to, you know, have bags actually in the bottom of the plane. That's their choice.
Analyzing The Extreme Compensation Ratio At United Airlines
They're an airline. there's this. His compensation package is $32.8 million per year. The median employee at United takes home $96,670. That's a 334 to 1 ratio.
Challenging CEO To Lead By Example In Wealth Redistribution And Tax Contribution
That's a pretty high ratio. So, Scott Kirby. Hey, I got an idea. Since you're worried about the, wealth disparity, cut your salary to a million a year. I bet you could live on that. Well, your salary is not really. Cut your whole compensation to a million a year, you will still be 10 times better paid than the median employee and redistribute that or, or Scott, how about this? There's a link at the US Treasury. Why don't you go and give 100 million of your 120 to 150 million dollar net worth right now to the government. You lead. Scott, you go first. Scott.
Skepticism About CEO's Intentions Regarding Wealth Tax And Redistribution
Do you think he's going to follow through? Oh, time will tell. I'm, waiting on the tip of my seat. We'll come back under the sepals.
Dr. Jessica Peck View.
Introduction To The Tower Of Babbling And Research On Gen Z Cognitive Decline
Todd Herman Welcome back to Disciples View. I'm Todd Herman M. We'll get to the tower of babbling in a pursuit of tear. in just a moment. There's a lot to talk about in terms of, in terms of theft. I was just this week talking, about Gen Z, and, you know, it's high. It's always the creaky old grandpa, who, you know, my day. And I, I don't want to be that guy. But, we did A show this week about the cognitive decline of people in Gen Z and it wasn't just something that I decided to talk about in researching this work we're trying to get done called the Biblical Rebellion. It's just taking a long time. It's just we're busy doing shows every day.
Research On Young Men, Attention Spans, And The Challenges Of Reading The Bible
we're researching young men and what young men go through and what young men face and particularly as they're trying to come to Christ. And one of the things that's come up is attention span and it's harder for young men, Gen Z to read the Bible, I mean to truly read
Speaker D it
Todd Herman because their brains have been wired for TikTok and there's, there's much more to it than that. and this is showing up in cognitive performance that Gen Z, and this is not specifically just men, it's across the board with Gen Z.
Gen Z Tests As Less Intelligent Than Previous Generations
They're the first generation to be they test as less intelligent than their forefathers and foremothers. That's how they test. And that's the first time in measured history that you could make the argument that the new generation, the Gen Z generation coming up is less smart. Now I don't buy that.
Factors Affecting Gen Z Brains And Attention Spans, Particularly TikTok Usage
I think their brains have been affected by a lot and I think their brains are mal evolved and what I understand is that can be reversed. So some of the factors to this are some of the obvious factors such as I mentioned these kids can't have, they don't have good attention spans. Part of this is the TikTok world and this is reversible. So the average, I just did this research. The average amount of time average that heavy users, power users of TikTok spend in average is 10.1 seconds on a clip.
Misleading Statistics On TikTok Clip Viewing Times And User Habits
But this is misleading. Stay tuned. Okay, that's misleading. That's actually very long 10.1 seconds. Light and casual users spend about 12.9 seconds on a clip before swiping. But again that's average. It's important to understand how these numbers break out.
TikTok's Gating Phases And Filters Impacting User Engagement
There is something in the TikTok world that's called the 1.5 second gating phase. Studies across multiple, multiple study groups have shown that it takes 1.3 to 3 seconds for a Gen Z user to either skip a video or watch it. If the first 1.3 seconds doesn't hook them, they're gone and they swipe to the next one. Then there's the 8 second filter. So the first 1.3 to 3 seconds is. Can you hook me? And Then the next five seconds is are you really going to tell me what you hooked me about? Then after that if you make it past the 8 second points on TikTok, they'll stick around and ah, that then creates this completion bias.
The Impact Of TikTok's Design On Reading The Bible And Expectation Of Novelty
So how does that work when you want kids to read the Bible? When you want Gen Z to sit down and study the Bible it doesn't hook them. And their brains have been set to have an expectation of being re. Titillated. Re teased. A dopamine hit at maximum every 10 seconds. Every 10 seconds. Something new. 3, 7, 10, something new. 8, 9, 10 something new.
Learning And Retention Through Short, Engaging Content
And when they get into something that makes it past the eight second window and they watch it, it might be three minutes long. I learned something. Crocodiles have three sets of teeth, three rows.
Speaker E Wow.
Todd Herman Crocodiles are cool.
China's Use Of TikTok For Education Versus Western Use
Funny, crazy weird thing. In China where TikTok was invented they have banned videos on gender identity on sexual topics. You know what it's used for? Teaching math, Science. That's, that's how the Chinese Communist Party uses it.
Brain Plasticity And The Reversible Effects Of Technology On Attention Spans
So in America kids brains have been changed. By now everyone knows that our brains can physically be changed and the wiring can physically be changed. This is one of God's designs. This can be undone and this should be undone because attention span has been stolen from kids.
Personal Experience With Listening To The Bible To Maximize Spiritual Growth
Just today I was listening. I have never listened to the Bible. I read the Bible. I started listening because I just, I am not having enough time in the Word. You know the time I get to read the scripture I'm trying to memorize. I've got a book I'm reading with one of my students about working with God. The time I allow myself to have, I con myself. I don't have time to sit and study the Bible. I'm listening to it and it's in a different experience. I learned things about Jon.
John's Gospel: A Hardcore Message of Salvation And Warning
Jon's gospel is hardcore. I mean Jesus makes the case and he is not. I mean yes, he's gentle Jesus but, but he's also super clear. Guys, you're going to burn. If you don't follow me, you're going to burn. He doesn't say it that way but man it comes through. And at least I'm getting this in this different form when I listen. It's so funny because when I read Jon I don't quite get that.
The Impact Of Reading Versus Listening To Scripture And The Purpose Of Education
I get the scholarly, I get the emotional, I get the beautiful. So this has been stolen from kids and Gen Z is testing as less intelligent across the board. and there's a lot more to it than this school used to be a place where people went in to learn how to use or to have neuroplasticity adapt their brains for acquisition of knowledge and communication of that which they'd acquired. Does that seem like a fair assessment of what school used to be? To adapt our brains to acquire knowledge and then to communicate that knowledge we had acquired.
The Classical Trivium: Education Tailored To Brain Growth And Knowledge Acquisition
Seem fair? If you go back to the classic way of educating people, the trivium, Classical education that all worked because somehow hint through listening to the Holy Spirit, through seeing God's design by raising up kids in what was right, the trivium was timed to brain growth. Yes, there's a whole bunch of the trivium which is memorization based, memorizing dates and facts. And then there's a period of time where you are now using language and rhetoric. And then they introduce mathematics.
Developing Critical Thinking Skills Through Classical Education
And then they begin to combine those things into debate and using these things to communicate the knowledge you've gained. That all in this is skepticism analysis. So people left school with the ability to acquire knowledge to be skeptical about it, to debate it both internally and with other people, and then to communicate that which they had learned.
Modern Schooling's Shift Towards Identity Politics Under The 'Prince Of The Air'
That made them not just intelligent, which is somewhat innate, a gift God gives us, but it made them people capable of becoming more well rounded. What is school? In large part, what is school under the prince of the air? It's primarily an identification machine. Primarily beginning in kindergarten.
Schools Teaching White Students Their Ancestry Are Oppressors
You are white. Your ancestry are oppressors. You are part of the bad group.
Stolen Land Pledges And The Construction Of Victimhood Identities In Schools
Oh no, they do stolen land pledges in kindergarten. Remember, the land we're sitting on was stolen from the native people. If you're white, you help steal or you are a bipoc black indigenous person of color. And if you're super lucky, you already know you're same sex attracted or non binary. Then you're super special. So you are one victim, permanent perpetual victim of those white people over there. Unless those white people are also gender confused, gender defiance, bisexual, same sex attracted, in which case now they are serving you as allies, but not equals. Because not only are you bipocs, and people practicing non, biblical sexuality, not only are you victims, you are superior.
The Non-Durable Nature Of Emotionally Driven Identities
So it's an identification machine, but it's putting on identities that are non durable. Because it goes down to one thing and all too often it is an emotional thing.
Identity Defined By Emotion Versus God's Design
Your identity is an emotion. So I am gay. Someone m could say, all right, you are a feeling. Your entire definition of yourself is I'm attracted to the same sex. That is so shrill and so thin and so degrading. In terms of the scope of what God made us.
Stolen Durable Identities Versus Feelings-Based Identities
So these kids in Gen Z have had that stolen from them that they're made in God's image. They've had durable identities stolen from them. I'm someone who can aggregate knowledge, understand it, examine it, debate it, measure it, having measured it, debated it, come to a conclusion of what my opinion is and then communicate that to others. I'm someone who can grow intellectually throughout my life to I am gay or I'm a bipoc. So one is much more closer to how God would see us. He is made in his image. He doesn't need to acquire knowledge because he is all knowledge but made in his image. And the other is a feeling. Black is a feeling.
The Concept Of 'Feeling Black' And Neglecting Cultural Heritage
Does that sound weird to you? Black is a feeling because there are people who are, let's say from sub Saharan Africa who have darker skin. They may not identify as well. I'm black. The capital B in black includes people who don't count themselves as black. But they take this as a feeling to feel black, to feel oppressed. It's not that you have this amazing background, let's say from this tribe or in Africa or that tribe or this country, or maybe you are of Ugandan heritage. Hey, what's that like? What's your language in culture and arts and literature and myth, structure and what's that all like? And when did Jesus reach Uganda?
Intellectual Stifling And Stolen God-Given Identities For Gen Z
When did his word get there? Who was the first Ugandan who was baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ? None of that's taken into account. So not only do you have kids who are being intellectually stifled because of over reliance on technology and point and click tests, you have kids who've had their identity, as those created, by God in his image stolen and they've had these tiny, shrill, meaningless, non durable identities handed to them. Here's what you are and then that's reinforced and reinforced and reinforced.
Teaching That The Body Is Worthless And Emotions Drive Decisions
And then as school moves forward now you get an even worse identity. You're someone whose body is worth nothing, it's so worthless, you can give it to whoever for whatever reason because it feels good. Emotion, you're taught that. What is sexual contact? Well, it's a temporary feeling. What does need to be temporary? You can have that feeling all the time with all sorts of people because we're feeling driven, we're feelings. And the heart is deceitful, the human heart is deceitful among all things. And so Gen Z's had that stolen from him.
Teachers' Difficulties With Students' Limited Attention Spans And Simplified Learning Methods
And you bring this Back around to teaching modalities. Good teachers are in a vice. They're trapped. They've got students whose teaching methodology is this? Because it's all they can do. It's very common for a test to be seven or eight. Seven word sentences and then a question about the sentence. Seven or eight words and then a question about those seven or eight words.
Critique Of Minimum Wage Debates Driven By Feelings Rather Than Context
Jenny thinks the minimum wage doesn't pay enough. Jenny's dad disagrees. Who do you think is right? Is there context? Does Jenny's dad have a background in entrepreneurialism where the minimum wage is zero, sometimes negative zero, sometimes you pay other people, you don't pay yourself? Or are they both desperately poor or. Dad just said there's no context. The context doesn't matter. What matters is, hey, look, the kids got the answer right or they expressed an opinion. Based on what? Their feelings.
Reversible Issues In Education: Removing Technology And Returning To Books
This is reversible. There should be no tech in schools. Go back to books. Oh, well then how are we going to do our tests? It's going to take the teachers a long time to grade them. Yep. Yeah, it is. Oh, did you want me to say, so we shouldn't do it? No, I'm not going to say that. I grew up in the home of a teacher who did that. I am married to a woman who was a teacher who did that.
Teachers' Role In Providing Context And Identifying Poorly Worded Problems
Because the teachers too then have to read the students work and get the context of the work and notice things like, wow, all the students got this one particular word problem wrong in math. All of them, even the smart ones, hey, maybe the word problem is worded poorly. I pray for Gen Z because if they can't concentrate in school, school or in life, and they're not being taught how to think and how to acquire knowledge, how fruitful can reading the Bible be for them? Pastors, man, I'm praying for you. You have a generation really, really in need.
Prayer For Gen Z And Pastors Facing Educational Challenges
We'll come back under Disciples View.
Understanding Scientific Principles: Replication Value (R Value) And Prediction Value (P Value)
Welcome back to Disciples View. I'm Todd Herman. We'll get to the tower. Babbling in a personal note here in just a brief moment. this requires a little bit of background. I think, there is a, There's something in the scientific process that's called an R value, and that is replication value. Can a, can a, an experiment be replicated? There's also a P value, a prediction value. So a good scientific theory is going to prove to have had a good P value.
The Conspiracy Against CrossFit By 'Big Sugar' And Corrupt Researchers
So you able to predict some things. I'll give you an example of this, that, that. And yeah, I'm going to use a CrossFit example, because it's, it's really actually very, very spot on. For the clip we're about to play, many years ago, Big Sugar conspired with corrupt researchers to try to destroy the sport of CrossFit. It's a long story. I've talked to the founder about it. Greg is a friend of mine. And he, he sued and he won an enormous amount of money from Big Sugar, and these corrupt universities. And in fact a judge, closing out this case said he wished he could give more. It was one of the most astounding acts of fraud in history he'd seen.
How Studies Were Designed To Falsely Link CrossFit To Injuries
So what they did is they designed studies to make it seem like CrossFit was getting people injured. And they included things like someone who'd been to a CrossFit gym once and then got hurt riding his bicycle with his kids. That's a CrossFit injury. Meanwhile, if someone got hurt in something like a 24 Hour Fitness, they would put that down to that person's decision because they weren't being coached. Now Big Sugar wanted to take CrossFit out because Glassman and company, had written a diet, actually Greg wrote it a CrossFit Nutrition, which includes the phrase no sugar.
Big Sugar's Attempts To Promote Sugary Drinks Within CrossFit Events
Now Big Sugar can't have a big sport with big events like the CrossFit Games not featuring sugary drinks. So they tried the buy. Glassman and Greg said, no, I'm not going to promote sugar or sugar water. Then they went to the arena, in Los angeles where the CrossFit Games is being held. And they wanted to buy ads there and have Coke machines and Pepsi machines and juice machines placed throughout the venue that would make it on TV and, and try to pay the athletes to drink it. And Glassman again said no, no, we said no sugar. So they designed and conspired according to the judge. And I mean you can go read about the lawsuit. It's an amazing story. They conspired to create research that pretended CrossFit was hurting people.
Conspiracy To Control CrossFit Through Fraudulent Personal Trainer Organizations
And what they wanted to do was to put CrossFit under the control of two fraudulent groups. That's through which you become a so called personal trainer. Okay. Neither of which do you actually have to train anybody to become a personal trainer. You don't even have to show that you know how to lift a weight. You just have to do tests online and some things. But they don't even watch you move. You're going to teach people to deadlift. You know how to deadlift. Now that's background The P value.
CrossFit's Methodology And Initial Bold Predictions For Athletic Performance
When Greg created CrossFit, he said, My methodology will lead to the creation of an athlete on the male side who can get under a squat bar, squat 500 pounds, rack that weight, and then go run a mile in 4 minutes and 30 seconds. Nah, that can't happen. Runners are runners. Weightlifters are weightlifters. He did it.
CrossFit's Replicable Scientific Method And Successful Predictions
He made some other predictions. We will turn around type 2 diabetes. Done. His method is replicable. It's scientific. It's replicable. His predictions bore true. Non crossfit entities have been able to replicate the results.
Artificial Intelligence Exposes Over 250,000 Faked Cancer Research Papers
Okay, that brings us to this. Artificial intelligence found that over a quarter of a million cancer research papers have been faked.
Speaker E So AI didn't cure cancer this year. Bummer. But it exposed the quarter million scientists who faked their cancer research instead.
Paper Mills And AI's Role In Detecting Fabricated Scientific Studies
And here's how it happened, right? There are companies called paper mills. They write fake studies and sell the authorship to researchers who need to publish. That's the whole business. So a team of researchers said, okay, if these fake papers all use similar templates, an AI should be able to spot other ones. Kind of like how your email catches spam. So they trained a model on over 2000 papers that had already been caught and retracted for fraud. Then they ran it against 2.6 million real cancer papers published between 1999 and 2024. And that number's been climbing for two decades now, from 1% in the early 2000s to over 16% by 2022. And that's before generative AI got crazy integrated into our lives.
Generative AI's Impact On Fabricated Papers And Accelerating The Problem
Now, think about where that number goes from here. Right? The researchers who built this tool are already warning that Genai is going to make fabricated papers even harder to catch at a scale that humans could never produce alone. So this problem isn't slowing down, right? It's already accelerating.
The Danger Of Fabricated Cancer Research And Its Impact On Legitimate Cures
And a lot of this is important research that tells your doctor how to treat cancer. Every fabricated study sitting in a real journal is competing for attention with studies actually pointing towards a legit cure. Which means the more fake noise there is, the longer it takes for the real breakthroughs to surface. And somewhere in that pile, maybe a real cure is buried under a fake AI generated one.
Todd Herman I can't wait until models like that can explain how pharmaceutical companies falsified their research on antidepressant drugs.
Critique Of Antidepressant Drug Research And Lack Of Replicability
Remember I talked about P value, predictive value, and replication? Their predictions were wrong. Those drugs don't solve depression, and their research cannot be replicated. There is no dopamine, deficiency or serotonin reuptake problem. Not the way they described it.
AI's Potential To Expose Pharmaceutical Research Fraud
Can't wait until that's proven through A.I. i mean, they've already admitted they can't replicate the studies on this program. We thank the Lord for placing supposedly wise people on tall towers of shaking sand with their feature called the Tower of Babbling. You know, about the biblical truth of the Tower of Babel. A, Disciples View presents the Tower of Babylon.
Introduction To The Tower Of Babbling And Prophetic Voices
It could be for you a different prophetic voice from a different prophetic faith tradition. Buddha, Muhammad, Moses, Lao Tzu, Thich Nhat Hanh, the Dalai Lama. Or it may be a prophetic voice from history. Black Elk, Martin Luther King, Dorothy Day, Dolores Huerta, Toni Morrison, Mahatma Gandhi, Mr. Rogers. Wow. Was that real? That's Jim. Jimmy Tallerico. I don't doubt it. Three sound bites in today's tab, battling.
Alexandria Ocasio Cortez's Claims About Education And Trump Administration's Policies
That's almost always the case. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez appeared with Abdul El Sayadis the day claiming the Trump administration is attacking women's ability to get an education.
Dr. Jessica Peck Public colleges should be tuition free. And beyond that, we have to really be asking ourselves, what is the utility of putting people in indentured servitude their entire lives for seeking an education? Not only that, but I want to be very clear that what the Trump administration is doing specifically is attacking women's ability to get an education.
Speaker B All right?
Todd Herman You can tell people are serious people when they do that. Oh, you heard this at the top of the hour news with afr. Maybe you didn't. You should. women are now getting 60% of new jobs.
Dr. Jessica Peck Huh?
Statistics On Women's Educational Attainment Contrasting With Political Claims
Todd Herman 47% of women currently have a bachelor's degree in the U.S. only 30%, 37% of men can say the same. It's almost like Alexandria Ocasio Cortez was lying. Next sound bites. And we'll only play a few seconds of this for a reason. Next sound bite in the tire babbling.
Oregon Politician Speaking Somali In Minnesota With An Upside-Down American Flag
This is Oregon politician Nafisa FAI holding a rally in Minnesota, speaking Somali, people of color. Okay, I like that she has to say people of color in English now. that's just, you know, let's just go through that again. Oregon politician in Minnesota speaking Somali standing in front of an upside down American flag.
Speaker E Huh?
Todd Herman Huh? Her campaign came out and said, no, no, no. that was AI that was not that flag. That's the right wing. That was a, Then they put up an AI image of the American flag the right side up.
AI Controversy Surrounding An American Flag Image With 57 Stars
And then Smart Seuss came along and said, wait, there's not 57 stars in the American flag. It was AI incredible. Last sound bite. Today's time babbling. CNN's Audie Cornish defended James Jimmy Talarico for calling God non binary.
Dr. Jessica Peck If I took random sentences out of every sermon I've heard in the last 20 years on Sunday, they also would sound crazy. Like this is part of the whole system of sermons and parables and talking and parsing out things about God. In fact, in modern language.
Todd Herman No, he said God's non binary. That's nonsense. Even if you say he's super, super duper non binary. And that's a wrap for today's Tower Babylon.
Dr. Jessica Peck They're just chanting death to America, but they seem friendly at the same time.
Todd Herman That was the Tower of Babylon on a disciple's view. On a personal note, today, you know, when you talk about sermons and you talk about, garble and, and confusion, man, have you ever really thought about the life of a pastor? I do, because I have friends who are pastors, and I've been a little bit on the inside of this in that I went through, a discipleship residency, and it's a pastoral residency. It's not to become a pastor. it's to kind of experience what life as a pastor might be like. And, and I was talking to a pastor about kind of the hardest day of his life. And I want you to know, man, I'm praying for you guys. Pastor I know, got called to a hospital, down south. And, a, kid had gotten out of the, you know, the mental institution, the behavior health place. And, he'd escaped and was out in the, in the parking lot and had climbed up on a big, a big light tower or electrical tower, that was there to service the, you know, guys could get up on the lines. And he was up super, super high. And of course the police were there and the hospital staff was there and the behavioral health people were there and they were begging him to come down. And it's, you know, it's a small town and, not a lot of resources and hence the, you know, kind of higher power lines near the hospital and begging, him to come down
Speaker B and,
Todd Herman you know, we can talk about this. And he said, get this pastor. I will only talk to this pastor. And so they got. The pastor woke him up and immediately, immediately he drove, you know, to the site and he was concerned he was not going to make it. My gosh, this boy might jump before he gets there. And he arrived and he saw the kid is still up there, and thank God. So he got there and Said, I'm here. I'm here. God loves you. And the boy said, I'm really glad you're here, because you're the only ones. You're the only one who'll be able to comfort my parents. And there he went. And it haunts that man. And he was the only one who could comfort the parents. And what a thing to be told, and what a thing to come true. He was the only one who could comfort the parents. And of course, the crazy thing is a pastor is the parents, of course, are beside themselves in grief and shock. And one of the parents said, is my son going to hell? And the pastor said, I don't know. I know that he was at the worst point in his life. I know that he'd been baptized. I know at a point he was on fire for the Lord. I know drugs and alcohol gotten ahold of him. I know he was in a prodigal phase. I know we have a merciful Lord. I know his mercy is perfect. I can't say for sure, but I don't believe that the Lord Jesus lurks around the corner waiting to capture you at your worst moment. So he may well have gone to heaven, but I don't know know. Do you know that that was the most comforting of the things I don't know, because how would observer them say, oh, absolutely, yeah, you don't. Without a doubt, man. I'm praying for you guys. Well, then there's the tiny things. There's the tiny things. Like a pastor told me about being in a grocery store and busy buying stuff and, and get ready for this camping trip and just all sorts of stuff and all sorts of busy. And he's checking out and he said, hey, thank you. And the young lady looked up at him and she said, thank you for the job. And he goes, what do you mean? She goes, you don't remember me? and he realized, wait a minute. Youth group. Yep. I was the girl living on the street when your church brought me in. And I now have a job because of you guys. I'm praying for you pastors. I love you. Thank you for what you do. In the beginning was the Word. The word was with God. The word was God. Because we believe, we speak because he first loved us. We speak his word and walk in the path of Jesus Christ to make disciples of all nations until God grants us permission to speak in together. May his peace wash over you. On behalf of Randy and Afar, I'm Todd Herman, and, this has been a disciples view.
Dr. Jessica Peck The views and opinions expressed in this broadcast may not necessarily reflect those of the American Family association or American Family Radio.
