We've got several events coming up this year, and we're already several months
Well, let's turn our attention to The scripture and then we will move right in to The content for today's program. Acts chapter two is where we are this week. Acts chapter two, looking at, verses 38 and 39. Then Peter said to them to The apostles, repent and let every one of you be baptized in The name of Jesus Christ for The remission of sins, and you shall receive The gift of The Holy Spirit. For The promise is to you and to your children and to all who are afar off, as many as The Lord our God will call. That's Acts 2, 38, 39. That's our scripture passage for The week. He here on The core. The We've got several events coming up this year, and we're already several months into The year. So these events are just coming up right around The Corner. The first one that I want to highlight is our Activate Summit. And we're going to have on one of The speakers, one of The keynote speakers, Dr. Jessica Peck. We're going to have her on in The coming weeks to highlight The conference and what she's going to present on. But, right now I want to highlight it. Recent examples of Democrats threatening President Trump highlight polarization in America
All right, let's play a couple clips here in The time we have left, and then we have a few guests coming up in The next two segments. I talked pretty extensively about this assassination attempt over The weekend on President Trump and cabinet officials, which that perpetrator has since been charged federally with multiple counts and evidence is continuing to trickle out regarding, what happened there at The Washington Hilton. But I've played clips like this before. But this is The most up to date montage of recent, instances of Democrats and other members of The media threatening President Trump, comparing him to Hitler, calling him a threat to democracy. Listen to this, montage that The White House put together of The demonizing language used against President Trump and others. Clip 3 It's not each other that is The problem. It's The other side. It's The fascist, it's The wannabe, dictator. It is, you know, The hater in chief. It is The racist in chief. Like that is like what we've got got to get out of. Heads do need to roll, certainly within The administration. And now The GOP needs to burn to The ground. Trump is an existential threat to our country. And The craziness that we see in The extreme Republican Party is something that I think we all feel like we need to, fight and stop. Every day. Donald Trump is making this nation look more and more like a fascist state. We all have to ask, how far will they go? How violent will they get? The President wants these confrontations, so that he can call out The military in other cities in America as part of his would be dictator playbook. Economic populism raised up Hitler in Germany, it raised up Hugo Chavez in Venezuela. And we watched it raise up Trump and his regime right here in America. And of course, our first lady, Melania is here. Look at mo. So beautiful. Mrs. Trump, you have a glow like an expectant widow.
Walker Wildmon Well, there you have it. The last voice you hear there was Jimmy Kimmel. It was either The night of or The evening after he mocked Melania. Trump said she had The face of an expected widow after The assassination attempt. I, don't know in what country that type of quote unquote comedy is acceptable or even funny at that. but this is The modern day Democrat Party. And The reason I wanted to play that is not because you've never heard that type of rhetoric or you're surprised by it. If you've had your head out of The sand from The last 10 years in our country, you can repeat those quotes, pretty frequently because that The rhetoric is very persistent on The other side, but nonetheless, The reason I wanted to play it is not only to jog your memory, but to just continue to highlight what we're dealing with here, what we're dealing with, what The other side thinks of us and how they'll treat us, and how this resorting to violence has become The norm. For them, this is normal language and normal narratives that they build, on a daily basis. This is not unusual behavior for The modern Democrat Party. And I understand that we're a divided country. The polling and The surveys that are run on worldview, especially biblical understanding, are not very bright, they're not very sunny. Things are not looking fabulous. Right? We've all seen The George Barna surveys. I've interviewed Dr. Barna on multiple occasions. And so we're not surprised that America's not doing well from a culture standpoint, from an ideological standpoint, and more specifically, spiritually, which is what matters The most. And, it's all connected to The spiritual state of individuals in our country and The darkness that seems very, prevalent. But recognizing all of that, I do get surprised some days, and maybe these are The days where I'm more naive than others. I do get surprised sometimes that there's enough people in The country that are okay with this. It's rather surprising. Not that I think everybody in America is a Christian, or everybody shares a biblical worldview, or everybody thinks like me. That's not what I think at all. But it's surprising to me that The Democrat Party and what it represents today, that The fact that they get The votes that they do, even when they lose. Because look at The presidential election in, let's say, 24. I mean, vice President Harris got a couple hundred million, or not a couple hundred. She got obviously over 100 million votes. But I think that The breakdown was she got 40 something percent. Obviously, President Trump won The popular vote and The Electoral College vote with, with roughly 50%, a couple of percentage points higher. But still, we're looking, basically, my point is we're looking still at a 50, 50 country, depending on The election, nationally, sometimes it falls a little bit one direction or The other. 2024 was a very monumental success for President Trump at The election, at The ballot box, just because of what he was up against. but still, we have, let's just say, even if you want to fall on The 30 to 40%, we've got 40% of The country that's good with this. And to me, that's a little surprising because if you were to go do man on The street interviews and play clips of The way The Democrats are talking about President Trump, The way they talk about us, The way The Southern Poverty Law center was actually funding The people that they say they're against, so that they could keep The quote, unquote, hate going, they could keep The The vitriol, The Divisiveness, keep it all going for monetary reasons. I just am, hopeful and honestly prayerful as part of a, spiritual awakening that maybe we're having right now. Only history will tell that people will open their eyes, obviously to The spiritual truth that, Jesus is Lord, that we're all sinners, that we need to repent of our sins, we need to draw ourselves and our families back to God, or to God to begin with, if you've ever had a relationship with him. But I'm hoping as part of what may be a spiritual awakening going on in our country, a Christian spiritual awakening, driven by The Holy Spirit. I'm hoping as part of that, more people will open their eyes to The sheer hatred, vitriol and divisiveness that is brought to you by The modern Democrat Party. This is a party, and as I said Monday, that The Republicans are no saints. But when you run The two against each other, The Democrats over here, on The other hand, they are spouting straight up Marxism, socialism, Communism. And I know those are all different things, but these are like very popular ideologies that are, and viewpoints that are held by The Democrat Party that are regurgitated by their voters. And at The end of The day, they top it all off with very demonizing rhetoric against their ideological opponents, against their political opponents. And so you've got all of this rhetoric out there about how dangerous President Trump is, but when we actually put a pen to paper and we start writing down instances of political violence, politically motivated violence, on The quote, unquote right and The quote, unquote left, which those terms in and of itself are very muddied, at this point. But when you compare The two sides, if you want to put it that way, The instances of politically motivated violence and murder attempts and assassination attempts coming from The left and Democrat voters, that is where The vast majority of, politically motivated violence is coming from. You're not, you're just not seeing conservative right wingers that are getting radicalized, taking up arms and trying to kill The other side. It's just not happening. Once again, The right, that didn't mean they're all saints. But when you look at where The problem here is here on politically motivated violence, folks, it's coming from The left. The data shows it. The vast majority of instances of politically motivated violence are coming from The Democrats. That is The problem. We'll be back.

TX State Representative Briscoe Kane is running for Congress in Texas
Well, I want to introduce our guests that we have on this segment to talk about what's going on in The state of Texas and around The country. Texas, State Representative Briscoe Kane represents District 128 in The state of Texas. He's been in The legislature for some time now. He's also running for Congress as well. Representative Cain welcome to The program.
Rep Briscoe Cain Howdy from Texas. Walker.
Walker Wildmon Well, glad to have you on. Representative Cain, tell us a little bit about yourself and then obviously give us some info on your run for Congress there.
Rep Briscoe Cain M. Yeah, right on, man. Well, first I'm a, I'm a Christian, a husband, father of five boys. We're a Homeschool family. And I've spent The last decade as a member of The Texas House, founding member of The Texas Freedom Caucus, most of The outgoing chairman of The Freedom Caucus, where we've done some great things and led on stuff such as restoring The ten Commandments and prayer in schools, getting DEI out, fighting that woke stuff banning gender ideology and, and doing those things to children. Of course, The authors of The Texas Heartbeat act that essentially banned abortion and led to The overturning of, Roe v. Wade. So, here we are running for Congress, an area that I've lived, my entire life, and, look forward to our runoff election coming up on May 26th.
Walker Wildmon May 26th, Texas runoff. Which, congressional district is this again?
Rep Briscoe Cain The new 9th congressional district. If anybody's ever heard of that man, Al Green, The one who got thrown out of The say, The union of this game used to be his district. This is one of The five Democrat seats that we made. Republican seats.
Walker Wildmon Excellent, excellent. There you have it, folks. we got a lot of listeners in The state of Texas, so that's good information for them.
Texas House has passed two bills restoring Biblical teachings in public schools
Representative Cain, let's talk a little about your record, in The state legislature. Obviously you've been a leader for some time. You mentioned a decade of service there in The House, The Texas House, talk about this restoration of moral teachings in our public schools. For far too long, we've told, we've kicked God out of public schools. We've told students, no, you can't read The Ten Commandments here, so on and so forth, and we've, quote, unquote, secularized our schools. But in reality, we've just pushed them towards The religion of humanism and self and, anti God. But, that's, being challenged right now by restoring The ten Commandments and other teachings of scripture in our public schools. So talk a little bit about that.
Rep Briscoe Cain You know, it's unique that we got to do this in Texas because a lot of The kind of negative things started here. You may recall Madeline Marie o', Hare, The woman who, you know, sued to remove prayer and Bible readings from school that started in Texas, but thankfully those things are being restored. A, lot of this kind of comes out of The Coach Kennedy case from The Supreme Court. That really is kind of opening The way for us to do these things. So last session would be in 2025. We passed two new laws that aim in that direction. One was Senate Bill 11 that allows for school districts to adopt periods of prayer and silent meditation. Of course, it's not coercive. And one of The really unique things about this is The school districts have to come together and vote not to allow prayer. And so we kind of like it that way. Show who you are. Show who The anti God folks are. That way, you know, The voters can be aware of it. We've also passed Senate Bill 10, a good number for it, that restores The Ten Commandments. Now, there's a famous Supreme Court case dealing with a Ten Commandments monument out on The Capitol lawn, that was upheld to be there. And so these are identical to that. The same language, from those Ten Commandments have been donated to schools. And recently with The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, last week it was upheld. And they're able to go up in schools across The state. These are important things, right? I mean, our founders understood that, liberty can't survive without virtue. Right. Something y' all repeat often is that Jon Adams said our Constitution was made for a moral and religious people. And so we're going to begin to restore America back to that shining city on a hill. These things need to be in our classrooms.
Walker Wildmon Yeah, they do. And to your point, this is more than about just teaching children good things. to oversimplify it here, but you really can't expect this nation to be healthy and vibrant in The future if you don't teach this stuff. So it's not some net equal effect that just zeroes out. And it's neither good nor bad, positive nor negative. This has consequences. And for a generation, we've excluded God and The Bible from our classrooms. And The results we're getting are devastating. I talked a little bit about, obviously, The negative worldview polling that we see come out each year about how less and less Americans view things from a biblical perspective.
Rep Briscoe Cain But, yeah, look at The violence.
Walker Wildmon Yeah, right.
Rep Briscoe Cain Again, we have The Second Amendment for a reason, and people are concerned about that, but it has to do with our moral society. How do people see their fellow man? Do they value their life? Well, that's hard to do when we've completely devalued human life. You know, we've got end of life things where we want to kill people faster and of course, The murder of The unborn. And Day though, prayer teaches humility, gratitude, accountability, and reflection. Those aren't weaknesses in a republic. They're strengths. And so we need those things taught. For sure.
Walker Wildmon Yeah, absolutely. And our founding fathers agreed with us. This is not a new idea. They knew that The Bible and morality must be taught in order to preserve.
Rep Briscoe Cain They're a Pillar of our civilization. The Constitution reflects that throughout The The American system of law is made off of The Judeo Christian doctrines. they're inseparable. Right. As we often talk here on your show, there's no such thing as separation from church and state. That's a m. Myth.
Walker Wildmon Yeah. once again we're talking to Representative Briscoe Cain out of Texas. He is obviously in The House of Representatives now in The state, but he's also running for US Congress as well. Got a runoff coming up in May, in The state of Texas.
Our country has been legally importing millions of Muslims into our country
Representative Cain, let's talk a little bit about Sharia law and Islam because this, this does dovetail well from our, from our topic here because, our country to, to our detriment, I believe, has been legally importing millions of Muslims into our country. And this is not a southern border problem per se, even though obviously some Muslims have come to The southern border. But The vast majority of these Muslim communities that have been set up in Texas and Minnesota and other places, this is all mostly done legally through various refugee programs, etc. And it's been a, disaster, an unmitigated disaster because they simply don't share our values. And this is not complicated stuff. I mean, when you bring in people that believe in Islam and Sharia law and then they read The Constitution in The Bible, The two don't mesh, they don't go together. And so we've got this worldview clash, this ideological clash that could have been completely avoided had we not mass imported them by The millions. So what do we do now? We've got them here, we've got tens of millions of Muslims here, in our country, and we're having this policy clash between their values and ours. So, how do you, how do you parse through that?
Rep Briscoe Cain You know, it kind of reminds me of The topic we were just discussing. And I'll get to that in a moment. But first of all, this is something that may be difficult when we're talking to government leaders wanting governmental action. Say first, The answer is Christ, right? We need to be sharing The gospel with more people, hoping they come our way. Not to mention that we did import our enemies. And what a terrible thing, right? When we import systems fundamentally at odds with those principles, The Americans founding principles those just talked about, right? The understanding that rights come from God, not government. The belief that shaped human dignity and equality under The law, The concepts of liberty, of conscience that you find in The First Amendment, we can't import people who are against those Things who have no understanding of it. And I'd say when we do, you have a duty to defend The constitutional order. It then falls to The governmental actors to do something about it. In Texas, we've been doing our best to, to try and get, get to The bottom of it. In fact, in 2017, we passed a statute that said, hey, American law for American courts. No systems like Sharia could be in it. However, we keep finding that these, kind of radical Muslims. Of course, not all are. Some, some, some fled Sharia law countries. Right. The modern Muslims came here for that. And they don't ascribe to these things. but we found, that they start doing it behind The scenes. They create their own courts where our laws aren't applying. And so it's kind of a system of whack a mole. The Texas legislature kind of only convenes once every other year. But we also passed, a bill this year that if you were paying attention, seeing The thing up in Plano, Texas, called Epic City, that thing has been completely shut down. Not only did we pass a statute prohibiting it, The attorney general sued and got an injunction. And then HUD secretary, led by Scott Turner, former member of The Texas House, is also politically shut down. And so we're doing our best at it. Of course, there's more to be done. In fact, we also labeled The Muslim Brotherhood and The Council on American Islamic Relations. Our governor declared them a foreign, terrorist organization, which then fits into a separate statute, which m now means that any affiliates or associates of them can no longer buy any land in taxes, whether it's farmland or houses. So we'll keep going after it. You know, at The end of The day, we've got to somehow adjust to where we see them really as a political ideology and not a religion, because I think that's exactly what they are.
Walker Wildmon Yeah, absolutely. And they're very, very committed. I mean, just from a practical standpoint, they're very committed to expanding their worldview and that. Yeah, go ahead.
Rep Briscoe Cain I think Americans did this, you know, in 1776, but for Texans, we've always rejected, foreign ideology that demands submission over freedom. That was true for us in 1836, and it's true today. And Americans need to be reminded that foreign ideologies that, ah, are demanding us to submit. We used to go to war over those things, and now we're not discussing kinetic war, but we need to go to a war of minds. We need to be praying for these people. We need to be sharing The gospel of Christ. And we need legislative action.
Walker Wildmon Yeah, absolutely. Yep, that's exactly right. The government has a responsibility to protect our constitutional principles and values and rights and, combating, Sharia law and Islam, fits within that scope. Walker Wildmon Absolutely. Glad to have you on. And glad to highlight what, he's been doing in Texas. And you know, there's some people that run for office that don't have a record, but, but you can't say that about Representative Kaine. Nearly, a decade or a decade or so in The state legislature there. So plenty to look at, plenty to run on. And glad we could have him on to highlight some of his work there and, what's coming up there in The state of Texas. These elections are going on all around The country heading into The midterm cycle that we're currently in with obviously The general election coming up in November. So we'll continue to track that.
Some people get tripped up over religious freedom when discussing Sharia law
But to what we were talking about about, Sharia law, folks, this is a major issue and thankfully we've done a pretty good job as a country combating this over The years. But some people get tripped up over religious, freedom, First Amendment. And then we start talking about Sharia law and Islam, which I use those terms interchangeably, but, people start getting tripped up and, oh, can we regulate that? And I thought we had freedom of religion, etc. Etc. just to give you, in The two minutes we have left, The quick answer. Here's a quick answer. And then you can talk to some of our constitutional attorneys, some of them that you hear on The program, Abraham Hamilton iii and others that will give you a more fancy version of The answer. But our country, The United States of America, was founded by people who held a biblical worldview. Generally speaking. Generally speaking, The Bible was The central truth, capital T, that motivated The founding fathers and anybody who denies that, combats that, renounces that they're not telling The truth. I mean, The whole reason that even our founding fathers were debating slavery is because some of them were convicted that it was wrong. Why? Because of The Bible. So all of our disputes, even on things that you and I might disagree with, in The founding era, it was because there was this tethering back to what does God's word say about humanity, about society, about government and The role. And so our country, including our Bill of Rights, all of it was structured consistent with God's word, consistent with God's design, not just for The family, but for civil government. Why do we have three branches of government? Well, because our founding fathers knew that men are prone to sin. We need accountability. We're fallen people. And so, hey, let's have three branches of government. Let's balance each other out and let's hold each other accountable. And then you can go through, The entire Bill of Rights, you can look at The Declaration of Independence itself, you can look at all of The writing, you can read The fellowship papers, you can read all The writings of The founding Fathers, George Washington, etc. And it's evident that The Bible and The founding of America fit perfectly together. They go hand in hand. You can't have one without The other. You can't have The founding of America without The Bible rather. And so anything, whether it be a quote unquote religion, an ideology, etc. A worldview that is at direct odds with what I just said, which is our US Constitution and our laws of The land, anything that is direct odds with that cannot be permitted. It just cannot be permitted to take a foothold. Why? Because it will end up taking over The other. So Sharia law, for example, and that ideology will end up. If you allow it to be planted and to flourish, it will end up overtaking The US Constitution as we know it, and we will be subservient to Sharia law. And you can't let that happen. Abortion moves fast and right now in our communities, women are being pressured to make irreversible decisions. In moments of fear and panic, they're told to act quickly or, ah, risk losing support. The House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution and Limited Government held a hearing yesterday
Welcome back to The Core here on American Family Radio. Well, before we jump to our next guest, I do want to highlight something. I promised, some of my friends I would, and that is The Face act that we've talked about on The program. We've had various guests on. We've talked about how The Biden administration weaponized The FACE act to go after pro lifers. We've highlighted that on multiple occasions. And you've probably heard that term be used before in our news coverage, etc. Well, there was a very good hearing yesterday in our nation's capital, in The House of Representatives. The House Judiciary Subcommittee on The Constitution and Limited Government held a hearing yesterday. And here was The title of The hearing from tool to weapon, The FACE act and The dangers of Federalizing Criminal Law. Is it examined? The hearing examined rather, The Biden Harris administration's weaponization of The Face act and constitutional implications of over federalizing criminal law. So it was a very good hearing, very beneficial hearing. some of my friends and colleagues helped prep for that, helped brief lawmakers and witnesses for that. And so we appreciate Representative Chip Roy and that entire committee, including obviously The majority there that brought that hearing about. So we appreciate that and we have to keep highlighting it with The hopes of eventually repealing The Face Act. That just doesn't need to be on The books. And it was used as a weapon by one side and that was The Democrats to, criminalize and lock up pro lifers during The Biden administration. And, and they went back even before The administration and, and, charged people with various crimes, that have since been been, dropped, if you will, by The Trump doj.
Former Mississippi State Representative Nick Bain is running for state auditor
Well, moving on to our next guest, I want to, welcome back to The program former Mississippi State Representative Nick Bain. He served District 2 in The state of Mississippi in The legislature, and is currently running for state auditor. He'll talk about that here, here shortly. Representative Bain, welcome to The program.
Nick Bain Hey, thank you, Walker. Thanks for having me. Always good to be on and look forward to The conversation.
Walker Wildmon Absolutely. Well, Nick, tell us obviously a little bit about yourself. You've been on before to talk about some policy and legislation that you were working on. But tell our listeners about yourself and your run for state auditor.
Nick Bain Yeah, thank you. I was born and raised in Corinth, Mississippi, northeast Mississippi. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Leslie. We hopefully, if God willing, we will serve, we will celebrate, our 25th anniversary in August.
Walker Wildmon Amen.
Nick Bain And we have three children, a daughter who's 19, she's a freshman at Ole Miss. And My oldest boy, 16, is a sophomore at Corinth High School. And then, The caboose is Baker. He is ah, 13 in Corinth Middle School. So we have a full house, a lot of fun and, and you know, I'm a blessed man.

House Bill 15 was the one that led to overturning Roe v. Wade
Well, Representative Bain, you and I have talked before about legislation. You've been a fighter in The state legislature on various topics, various issues, and some of them have gained national prominence and gotten The attention of other m. States and lawmakers and obviously The media. One of those was House Bill 15. And this, bill was The one that led to The overturning of Roe v. Wade. Roe v. Wade called The Dobbs case, if you will, for lack of, using The full term. But The Dobbs case originated in Mississippi and you were one of The co authors of that. A lot of people may not know that, but give us a little background on that and some recollection as to what you were thinking and what motivated you to be involved in House Bill 1510.
Nick Bain Well, I mean, The motivation is simple. I mean, I mean I'm a, I'm a Christian, I'm a pro life, from as you can get. Yeah, it was a 15 weeks abortion, ban. Just saying that you couldn't. Abortion couldn't be performed, in gestation past 15 weeks. And we able to pass that. Of course it got. You had The liberal groups come after it and The constitutionality of it and all that stuff. And you know, with The way that The court is now went all The way up to The Supreme Court and it basically overturn Roe v. Wade. I am eternally grateful, for The opportunity to have not only co author it to, but to help argue it and to help pass it on The House floor and do it, Usher it through The process. So, you know, for one of The most, probably The top five things, it's up there for The things that I did in The legislature. And I'm eternally grateful for American Family, for you guys putting your foot on The base, for The team that you have that helps supports legislators like me. because, believe it or not, that makes a difference when you. When you get that back, that support from people and you get that slap, on The back that says, hey, we're with you, and we're going to walk through this with you, it makes it that much easier. So you guys have a lot to do with that, and I thank you for it.
Walker Wildmon Well, I appreciate that. And it's a truly team effort. I mean, legislators, they have their role, but policy groups and those that draft legislation and lawyers, they all got to work together to get good stuff done. And so that's what, we've done over The years with you and others. And it's been very, very beneficial for everyone involved. And The one thing I love about it, one thing I'll compliment you on.
Nick Bain is running for state auditor in Mississippi
Representative Bain, once again, we're talking to Nick Bain, former state House member here in Mississippi. Now he's running for state auditor. one thing I appreciate about you and others, is that, you just want to get a win. And. And it doesn't matter how we get The win. We just got to get The win. A lot of people in politics, or some people in politics, are about themselves. They're about getting The accolades and The attention and The credit. but you and others that, we've worked with have just been phenomenal, because you're focused on just getting stuff done, getting good stuff done, whether you get credit or not.
Bain worked on legislation aimed at preventing medical providers from performing transgender procedures
Representative, Bain, another, piece of legislation, and I do want to ask about your run for auditor and some of The goals you have there. one of The other, pieces of legislation that you worked on was in 2023, and that was called The REAP Act. This had to do with regulate, experimental adolescent procedures, and it was aimed at preventing medical providers at performing these terrible gender transition procedures on minors. So talk a little about that and The success of that bill.
Nick Bain Yeah, that sounds pretty common sense, right? If you're The age of 18, you shouldn't be able to consent to having, a transgender surgery. But, you know, that was altered by Gene Newman and Speaker Gunn. Philip Gunn at The time, came to me and said, hey, can you handle this on The floor? I said, sure. Give me some Time to study it. I did. And what I found out through that studying process, Walker, was yes, there's a lot of kids doing this, but of those, there's a whole lot of regrets with those kids that have gone through this too. but The bottom line is it just seems common sense that if you're under The age of 18, we shouldn't be doing this to our children. The children shouldn't be able to make those decisions on their behalf and The state of Mississippi shouldn't be paying for that. So I mean, if you get over 18, 21, whatever The age may be, and you want to do that or you feel that you need to do that, that's different. But our children, it is incumbent upon us as parents, incumbent upon us as, you know, Christ told us what we do to least these we do to him. And that's exactly The case we have. It's incumbent upon us to protect our children, and not to, not to make them victims of some type of agenda. So I was proud to argue that. I argued it for about three or four hours. Three or four hours in Mississippi on something that you and I think, I believe is common sense. But we argued that for about three or four hours. We were able to pass it got above, got about 80 votes out of 120 member body. And then it went over to The Senate and then governor. The governor signed it and it is law.
Walker Wildmon Absolutely. Very encouraging and helping protect children all around Mississippi. And similar legislation has been replicated across The country in various states as well. Well, last question. Representative Cain is our Bain rather. What are you, running for state auditor for? Tell us a little bit of background there and some of The goals that you have as state auditor.
Nick Bain Right. Well, thank you. Yes. I'm a lawyer by trade, but I've represented cities and counties my whole career and also been a part of public corruption cases. And it's just like that reap Act, Walker. I mean The state of Mississippi was spending about $10 million a year on that of your money, mine and your money. And I don't think as conservatives that's something we want to be talking about. So we need a conservative in that office who can look at those things and say, hey, look, this may not be wasteful spending, but I do believe it's a misspent of taxpayers money because this isn't in a line with Mississippi values. So it's things like that. And you know, I was able to, as chairman, I passed a bill that allowed for law enforcement officers to go Specifically in. And look specifically for embezzlement and fraud issues to cut down and to protect taxpayers money. And also after my stint in The legislature, I was appointed to, The Mississippi Ethics Committee and in The Ethics Commission. That's what we do. We look to make sure our public officials behaving in an ethical manner. So it's a natural fit for me. I'm excited about it. We launched on Monday officially, and I've done interviews all over The state and back home now talking to you guys in northeast Mississippi and glad to be back home, but it's a natural fit. Like I said, ready to go. And I look forward to The conversation and to telling people our story and to telling them why we think we can save, The state of Mississippi a whole lot of money and a whole lot of heartache.

And there are good people out there running for public office. Todd Blanche is doing a phenomenal job as acting U.S. attorney
I want to end The show with this, clip that I've had in The queue over The weekend. And this is a U.S. attorney. this U.S. attorney is out of The Northeast and he was on CNBC or, yeah, cnbc talking, about The Southern Poverty Law center and this, this false influence campaign that they were indicted on by The doj. By The way, before I play this clip, we've only got four or five minutes left. The new acting attorney, The acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, is doing a Phenomenal job, by The way. Way.
Walker Wildmon I mean, we've gotten more done, whether it's The SPLC indictments, whether it's The Fauci Associate indictment, The James Comey indictment just yesterday or this morning. we've had more positive developments out of The DOJ in The last three weeks than we did under Pam Bondi for a year. And I wouldn't have predicted that because Todd Blanch used to be a Democrat, but before 2024 and so, or before, The last few years. And so he's surprising me and I've got to give him kudos. So I'm happy right now with The acting Attorney General. And if he keeps doing this, he just needs to be The ag. That's my opinion. But I digress. Let's play this clip. This is The US Attorney talking about these false influence campaigns, like what The SPLC did and how they move public opinion. Clip 1.
US Attorney from the Southern District of NY We had a case in The Justice Department last week, The Southern Poverty Law center, at bottom, and these are allegations, but at bottom, The allegations are that this organization was creating hate in order to expand their mission, of combating hate. If that's going on, and it is, it's going on in America. It's going on through organizations like that. It's also going on with folks, foreign actors funding these types of organizations because they want us to fight with each other. So everybody needs to take a step back and say, who is causing me to have these emotions? And are we, are we creating an environment where those emotions are causing us to do things that are harmful to The American public?
Walker Wildmon Nail on The head. nail on The head is what just happened there with that U.S. attorney when he was on CNBC. Of course he's highlighting The SPLC indictment, but this is part of a broader problem. By The way, The Name of The U.S. attorney is Jay Clayton. He's The U.S. attorney out of The Southern District of NewSong York. this is. Folks, I think this problem of, false influence is more rampant than we know. And I'm hoping The FBI and The DOJ will continue pursuing this type work in these type cases. Because as he alluded to there, if this is happening domestically with domestic organizations, this has to be happening internationally with foreign organizations. And what I'm talking about here, when I say false influence campaigns, what I'm specifically referring to is unorganic political and ideological influence campaigns going on in The media and in The podcast world, in The broadcast world, all around this country. And so, for example, there were, there's questions about valid questions based on The evidence about who funded all of The BLM riots in 2020 and 2021. Who funded it? You're telling me all these agitators, all these rioters, all these looters that just happen to have pallets of bricks placed at just The right location, and they just happen to have The charter bus drop them off at just The right location, you're telling me all of that was just, you know, proud Americans on their own dime showing up to let their voice be heard? No, don't think so. Do not think so. And so if we have organizations, individuals, entities that are paying to have these false influence campaigns, these unorganic influence campaigns go on to further divide Americans and furthermore, to create violence and criminality that ought to be investigated. Recent examples of Democrats threatening President Trump highlight polarization in America
All right, let's play a couple clips here in The time we have left, and then we have a few guests coming up in The next two segments. I talked pretty extensively about this assassination attempt over The weekend on President Trump and cabinet officials, which that perpetrator has since been charged federally with multiple counts and evidence is continuing to trickle out regarding, what happened there at The Washington Hilton. But I've played clips like this before. But this is The most up to date montage of recent, instances of Democrats and other members of The media threatening President Trump, comparing him to Hitler, calling him a threat to democracy. Listen to this, montage that The White House put together of The demonizing language used against President Trump and others. Clip 3 It's not each other that is The problem. It's The other side. It's The fascist, it's The wannabe, dictator. It is, you know, The hater in chief. It is The racist in chief. Like that is like what we've got got to get out of. Heads do need to roll, certainly within The administration. And now The GOP needs to burn to The ground. Trump is an existential threat to our country. And The craziness that we see in The extreme Republican Party is something that I think we all feel like we need to, fight and stop. Every day. Donald Trump is making this nation look more and more like a fascist state. We all have to ask, how far will they go? How violent will they get? The President wants these confrontations, so that he can call out The military in other cities in America as part of his would be dictator playbook. Economic populism raised up Hitler in Germany, it raised up Hugo Chavez in Venezuela. And we watched it raise up Trump and his regime right here in America. And of course, our first lady, Melania is here. Look at mo. So beautiful. Mrs. Trump, you have a glow like an expectant widow.
Walker Wildmon Well, there you have it. The last voice you hear there was Jimmy Kimmel. It was either The night of or The evening after he mocked Melania. Trump said she had The face of an expected widow after The assassination attempt. I, don't know in what country that type of quote unquote comedy is acceptable or even funny at that. but this is The modern day Democrat Party. And The reason I wanted to play that is not because you've never heard that type of rhetoric or you're surprised by it. If you've had your head out of The sand from The last 10 years in our country, you can repeat those quotes, pretty frequently because that The rhetoric is very persistent on The other side, but nonetheless, The reason I wanted to play it is not only to jog your memory, but to just continue to highlight what we're dealing with here, what we're dealing with, what The other side thinks of us and how they'll treat us, and how this resorting to violence has become The norm. For them, this is normal language and normal narratives that they build, on a daily basis. This is not unusual behavior for The modern Democrat Party. And I understand that we're a divided country. The polling and The surveys that are run on worldview, especially biblical understanding, are not very bright, they're not very sunny. Things are not looking fabulous. Right? We've all seen The George Barna surveys. I've interviewed Dr. Barna on multiple occasions. And so we're not surprised that America's not doing well from a culture standpoint, from an ideological standpoint, and more specifically, spiritually, which is what matters The most. And, it's all connected to The spiritual state of individuals in our country and The darkness that seems very, prevalent. But recognizing all of that, I do get surprised some days, and maybe these are The days where I'm more naive than others. I do get surprised sometimes that there's enough people in The country that are okay with this. It's rather surprising. Not that I think everybody in America is a Christian, or everybody shares a biblical worldview, or everybody thinks like me. That's not what I think at all. But it's surprising to me that The Democrat Party and what it represents today, that The fact that they get The votes that they do, even when they lose. Because look at The presidential election in, let's say, 24. I mean, vice President Harris got a couple hundred million, or not a couple hundred. She got obviously over 100 million votes. But I think that The breakdown was she got 40 something percent. Obviously, President Trump won The popular vote and The Electoral College vote with, with roughly 50%, a couple of percentage points higher. But still, we're looking, basically, my point is we're looking still at a 50, 50 country, depending on The election, nationally, sometimes it falls a little bit one direction or The other. 2024 was a very monumental success for President Trump at The election, at The ballot box, just because of what he was up against. but still, we have, let's just say, even if you want to fall on The 30 to 40%, we've got 40% of The country that's good with this. And to me, that's a little surprising because if you were to go do man on The street interviews and play clips of The way The Democrats are talking about President Trump, The way they talk about us, The way The Southern Poverty Law center was actually funding The people that they say they're against, so that they could keep The quote, unquote, hate going, they could keep The The vitriol, The Divisiveness, keep it all going for monetary reasons. I just am, hopeful and honestly prayerful as part of a, spiritual awakening that maybe we're having right now. Only history will tell that people will open their eyes, obviously to The spiritual truth that, Jesus is Lord, that we're all sinners, that we need to repent of our sins, we need to draw ourselves and our families back to God, or to God to begin with, if you've ever had a relationship with him. But I'm hoping as part of what may be a spiritual awakening going on in our country, a Christian spiritual awakening, driven by The Holy Spirit. I'm hoping as part of that, more people will open their eyes to The sheer hatred, vitriol and divisiveness that is brought to you by The modern Democrat Party. This is a party, and as I said Monday, that The Republicans are no saints. But when you run The two against each other, The Democrats over here, on The other hand, they are spouting straight up Marxism, socialism, Communism. And I know those are all different things, but these are like very popular ideologies that are, and viewpoints that are held by The Democrat Party that are regurgitated by their voters. And at The end of The day, they top it all off with very demonizing rhetoric against their ideological opponents, against their political opponents. And so you've got all of this rhetoric out there about how dangerous President Trump is, but when we actually put a pen to paper and we start writing down instances of political violence, politically motivated violence, on The quote, unquote right and The quote, unquote left, which those terms in and of itself are very muddied, at this point. But when you compare The two sides, if you want to put it that way, The instances of politically motivated violence and murder attempts and assassination attempts coming from The left and Democrat voters, that is where The vast majority of, politically motivated violence is coming from. You're not, you're just not seeing conservative right wingers that are getting radicalized, taking up arms and trying to kill The other side. It's just not happening. Once again, The right, that didn't mean they're all saints. But when you look at where The problem here is here on politically motivated violence, folks, it's coming from The left. The data shows it. The vast majority of instances of politically motivated violence are coming from The Democrats. That is The problem. We'll be back.

TX State Representative Briscoe Kane is running for Congress in Texas
Well, I want to introduce our guests that we have on this segment to talk about what's going on in The state of Texas and around The country. Texas, State Representative Briscoe Kane represents District 128 in The state of Texas. He's been in The legislature for some time now. He's also running for Congress as well. Walker Wildmon Well, glad to have you on. Representative Cain, tell us a little bit about yourself and then obviously give us some info on your run for Congress there.
Rep Briscoe Cain M. Yeah, right on, man. Well, first I'm a, I'm a Christian, a husband, father of five boys. We're a Homeschool family. And I've spent The last decade as a member of The Texas House, founding member of The Texas Freedom Caucus, most of The outgoing chairman of The Freedom Caucus, where we've done some great things and led on stuff such as restoring The ten Commandments and prayer in schools, getting DEI out, fighting that woke stuff banning gender ideology and, and doing those things to children. Of course, The authors of The Texas Heartbeat act that essentially banned abortion and led to The overturning of, Roe v. Wade. So, here we are running for Congress, an area that I've lived, my entire life, and, look forward to our runoff election coming up on May 26th.
Walker Wildmon May 26th, Texas runoff. Which, congressional district is this again?
Rep Briscoe Cain The new 9th congressional district. If anybody's ever heard of that man, Al Green, The one who got thrown out of The say, The union of this game used to be his district. This is one of The five Democrat seats that we made. Republican seats.
Walker Wildmon Excellent, excellent. There you have it, folks. we got a lot of listeners in The state of Texas, so that's good information for them.
Texas House has passed two bills restoring Biblical teachings in public schools
Representative Cain, let's talk a little about your record, in The state legislature. Obviously you've been a leader for some time. You mentioned a decade of service there in The House, The Texas House, talk about this restoration of moral teachings in our public schools. For far too long, we've told, we've kicked God out of public schools. We've told students, no, you can't read The Ten Commandments here, so on and so forth, and we've, quote, unquote, secularized our schools. But in reality, we've just pushed them towards The religion of humanism and self and, anti God. But, that's, being challenged right now by restoring The ten Commandments and other teachings of scripture in our public schools. So talk a little bit about that.
Rep Briscoe Cain You know, it's unique that we got to do this in Texas because a lot of The kind of negative things started here. You may recall Madeline Marie o', Hare, The woman who, you know, sued to remove prayer and Bible readings from school that started in Texas, but thankfully those things are being restored. A, lot of this kind of comes out of The Coach Kennedy case from The Supreme Court. That really is kind of opening The way for us to do these things. So last session would be in 2025. We passed two new laws that aim in that direction. One was Senate Bill 11 that allows for school districts to adopt periods of prayer and silent meditation. Of course, it's not coercive. And one of The really unique things about this is The school districts have to come together and vote not to allow prayer. And so we kind of like it that way. Show who you are. Show who The anti God folks are. That way, you know, The voters can be aware of it. We've also passed Senate Bill 10, a good number for it, that restores The Ten Commandments. Now, there's a famous Supreme Court case dealing with a Ten Commandments monument out on The Capitol lawn, that was upheld to be there. And so these are identical to that. The same language, from those Ten Commandments have been donated to schools. And recently with The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, last week it was upheld. And they're able to go up in schools across The state. These are important things, right? I mean, our founders understood that, liberty can't survive without virtue. Right. Something y' all repeat often is that Jon Adams said our Constitution was made for a moral and religious people. And so we're going to begin to restore America back to that shining city on a hill. These things need to be in our classrooms.
Walker Wildmon Yeah, they do. And to your point, this is more than about just teaching children good things. to oversimplify it here, but you really can't expect this nation to be healthy and vibrant in The future if you don't teach this stuff. So it's not some net equal effect that just zeroes out. And it's neither good nor bad, positive nor negative. This has consequences. And for a generation, we've excluded God and The Bible from our classrooms. And The results we're getting are devastating. I talked a little bit about, obviously, The negative worldview polling that we see come out each year about how less and less Americans view things from a biblical perspective.
Rep Briscoe Cain But, yeah, look at The violence.
Walker Wildmon Yeah, right.
Rep Briscoe Cain Again, we have The Second Amendment for a reason, and people are concerned about that, but it has to do with our moral society. How do people see their fellow man? Do they value their life? Well, that's hard to do when we've completely devalued human life. You know, we've got end of life things where we want to kill people faster and of course, The murder of The unborn. And Day though, prayer teaches humility, gratitude, accountability, and reflection. Those aren't weaknesses in a republic. They're strengths. And so we need those things taught. For sure.
Walker Wildmon Yeah, absolutely. And our founding fathers agreed with us. This is not a new idea. They knew that The Bible and morality must be taught in order to preserve.
Rep Briscoe Cain They're a Pillar of our civilization. The Constitution reflects that throughout The The American system of law is made off of The Judeo Christian doctrines. they're inseparable. Right. As we often talk here on your show, there's no such thing as separation from church and state. That's a m. Myth.
Walker Wildmon Yeah. once again we're talking to Representative Briscoe Cain out of Texas. He is obviously in The House of Representatives now in The state, but he's also running for US Congress as well. Got a runoff coming up in May, in The state of Texas.
Our country has been legally importing millions of Muslims into our country
Representative Cain, let's talk a little bit about Sharia law and Islam because this, this does dovetail well from our, from our topic here because, our country to, to our detriment, I believe, has been legally importing millions of Muslims into our country. And this is not a southern border problem per se, even though obviously some Muslims have come to The southern border. But The vast majority of these Muslim communities that have been set up in Texas and Minnesota and other places, this is all mostly done legally through various refugee programs, etc. And it's been a, disaster, an unmitigated disaster because they simply don't share our values. And this is not complicated stuff. I mean, when you bring in people that believe in Islam and Sharia law and then they read The Constitution in The Bible, The two don't mesh, they don't go together. And so we've got this worldview clash, this ideological clash that could have been completely avoided had we not mass imported them by The millions. So what do we do now? We've got them here, we've got tens of millions of Muslims here, in our country, and we're having this policy clash between their values and ours. So, how do you, how do you parse through that?
Rep Briscoe Cain You know, it kind of reminds me of The topic we were just discussing. And I'll get to that in a moment. But first of all, this is something that may be difficult when we're talking to government leaders wanting governmental action. Say first, The answer is Christ, right? We need to be sharing The gospel with more people, hoping they come our way. Not to mention that we did import our enemies. And what a terrible thing, right? When we import systems fundamentally at odds with those principles, The Americans founding principles those just talked about, right? The understanding that rights come from God, not government. The belief that shaped human dignity and equality under The law, The concepts of liberty, of conscience that you find in The First Amendment, we can't import people who are against those Things who have no understanding of it. And I'd say when we do, you have a duty to defend The constitutional order. It then falls to The governmental actors to do something about it. In Texas, we've been doing our best to, to try and get, get to The bottom of it. In fact, in 2017, we passed a statute that said, hey, American law for American courts. No systems like Sharia could be in it. However, we keep finding that these, kind of radical Muslims. Of course, not all are. Some, some, some fled Sharia law countries. Right. The modern Muslims came here for that. And they don't ascribe to these things. but we found, that they start doing it behind The scenes. They create their own courts where our laws aren't applying. And so it's kind of a system of whack a mole. The Texas legislature kind of only convenes once every other year. But we also passed, a bill this year that if you were paying attention, seeing The thing up in Plano, Texas, called Epic City, that thing has been completely shut down. Not only did we pass a statute prohibiting it, The attorney general sued and got an injunction. And then HUD secretary, led by Scott Turner, former member of The Texas House, is also politically shut down. And so we're doing our best at it. Of course, there's more to be done. In fact, we also labeled The Muslim Brotherhood and The Council on American Islamic Relations. Our governor declared them a foreign, terrorist organization, which then fits into a separate statute, which m now means that any affiliates or associates of them can no longer buy any land in taxes, whether it's farmland or houses. So we'll keep going after it. You know, at The end of The day, we've got to somehow adjust to where we see them really as a political ideology and not a religion, because I think that's exactly what they are.
Walker Wildmon Yeah, absolutely. And they're very, very committed. I mean, just from a practical standpoint, they're very committed to expanding their worldview and that. Yeah, go ahead.
Rep Briscoe Cain I think Americans did this, you know, in 1776, but for Texans, we've always rejected, foreign ideology that demands submission over freedom. That was true for us in 1836, and it's true today. And Americans need to be reminded that foreign ideologies that, ah, are demanding us to submit. We used to go to war over those things, and now we're not discussing kinetic war, but we need to go to a war of minds. We need to be praying for these people. We need to be sharing The gospel of Christ. And we need legislative action.
Walker Wildmon Yeah, absolutely. Yep, that's exactly right. The government has a responsibility to protect our constitutional principles and values and rights and, combating, Sharia law and Islam, fits within that scope. Walker Wildmon Absolutely. Glad to have you on. And glad to highlight what, he's been doing in Texas. And you know, there's some people that run for office that don't have a record, but, but you can't say that about Representative Kaine. Nearly, a decade or a decade or so in The state legislature there. So plenty to look at, plenty to run on. And glad we could have him on to highlight some of his work there and, what's coming up there in The state of Texas. These elections are going on all around The country heading into The midterm cycle that we're currently in with obviously The general election coming up in November. So we'll continue to track that.
Some people get tripped up over religious freedom when discussing Sharia law
But to what we were talking about about, Sharia law, folks, this is a major issue and thankfully we've done a pretty good job as a country combating this over The years. But some people get tripped up over religious, freedom, First Amendment. And then we start talking about Sharia law and Islam, which I use those terms interchangeably, but, people start getting tripped up and, oh, can we regulate that? And I thought we had freedom of religion, etc. Etc. just to give you, in The two minutes we have left, The quick answer. Here's a quick answer. And then you can talk to some of our constitutional attorneys, some of them that you hear on The program, Abraham Hamilton iii and others that will give you a more fancy version of The answer. But our country, The United States of America, was founded by people who held a biblical worldview. Generally speaking. Generally speaking, The Bible was The central truth, capital T, that motivated The founding fathers and anybody who denies that, combats that, renounces that they're not telling The truth. I mean, The whole reason that even our founding fathers were debating slavery is because some of them were convicted that it was wrong. Why? Because of The Bible. So all of our disputes, even on things that you and I might disagree with, in The founding era, it was because there was this tethering back to what does God's word say about humanity, about society, about government and The role. And so our country, including our Bill of Rights, all of it was structured consistent with God's word, consistent with God's design, not just for The family, but for civil government. Why do we have three branches of government? Well, because our founding fathers knew that men are prone to sin. We need accountability. We're fallen people. And so, hey, let's have three branches of government. Let's balance each other out and let's hold each other accountable. And then you can go through, The entire Bill of Rights, you can look at The Declaration of Independence itself, you can look at all of The writing, you can read The fellowship papers, you can read all The writings of The founding Fathers, George Washington, etc. And it's evident that The Bible and The founding of America fit perfectly together. They go hand in hand. You can't have one without The other. You can't have The founding of America without The Bible rather. And so anything, whether it be a quote unquote religion, an ideology, etc. A worldview that is at direct odds with what I just said, which is our US Constitution and our laws of The land, anything that is direct odds with that cannot be permitted. It just cannot be permitted to take a foothold. Why? Because it will end up taking over The other. So Sharia law, for example, and that ideology will end up. If you allow it to be planted and to flourish, it will end up overtaking The US Constitution as we know it, and we will be subservient to Sharia law. And you can't let that happen. The House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution and Limited Government held a hearing yesterday
Welcome back to The Core here on American Family Radio. Well, before we jump to our next guest, I do want to highlight something. I promised, some of my friends I would, and that is The Face act that we've talked about on The program. We've had various guests on. We've talked about how The Biden administration weaponized The FACE act to go after pro lifers. We've highlighted that on multiple occasions. And you've probably heard that term be used before in our news coverage, etc. Well, there was a very good hearing yesterday in our nation's capital, in The House of Representatives. The House Judiciary Subcommittee on The Constitution and Limited Government held a hearing yesterday. And here was The title of The hearing from tool to weapon, The FACE act and The dangers of Federalizing Criminal Law. Is it examined? The hearing examined rather, The Biden Harris administration's weaponization of The Face act and constitutional implications of over federalizing criminal law. So it was a very good hearing, very beneficial hearing. some of my friends and colleagues helped prep for that, helped brief lawmakers and witnesses for that. And so we appreciate Representative Chip Roy and that entire committee, including obviously The majority there that brought that hearing about. So we appreciate that and we have to keep highlighting it with The hopes of eventually repealing The Face Act. That just doesn't need to be on The books. And it was used as a weapon by one side and that was The Democrats to, criminalize and lock up pro lifers during The Biden administration. And, and they went back even before The administration and, and, charged people with various crimes, that have since been been, dropped, if you will, by The Trump doj.
Former Mississippi State Representative Nick Bain is running for state auditor
Well, moving on to our next guest, I want to, welcome back to The program former Mississippi State Representative Nick Bain. He served District 2 in The state of Mississippi in The legislature, and is currently running for state auditor. He'll talk about that here, here shortly. Representative Bain, welcome to The program.
Nick Bain Hey, thank you, Walker. Thanks for having me. Always good to be on and look forward to The conversation.
Walker Wildmon Absolutely. Well, Nick, tell us obviously a little bit about yourself. You've been on before to talk about some policy and legislation that you were working on. But tell our listeners about yourself and your run for state auditor.
Nick Bain Yeah, thank you. I was born and raised in Corinth, Mississippi, northeast Mississippi. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Leslie. We hopefully, if God willing, we will serve, we will celebrate, our 25th anniversary in August.
Walker Wildmon Amen.
Nick Bain And we have three children, a daughter who's 19, she's a freshman at Ole Miss. And My oldest boy, 16, is a sophomore at Corinth High School. And then, The caboose is Baker. He is ah, 13 in Corinth Middle School. So we have a full house, a lot of fun and, and you know, I'm a blessed man.

House Bill 15 was the one that led to overturning Roe v. Wade
Well, Representative Bain, you and I have talked before about legislation. You've been a fighter in The state legislature on various topics, various issues, and some of them have gained national prominence and gotten The attention of other m. States and lawmakers and obviously The media. One of those was House Bill 15. And this, bill was The one that led to The overturning of Roe v. Wade. Roe v. Wade called The Dobbs case, if you will, for lack of, using The full term. But The Dobbs case originated in Mississippi and you were one of The co authors of that. A lot of people may not know that, but give us a little background on that and some recollection as to what you were thinking and what motivated you to be involved in House Bill 1510.
Nick Bain Well, I mean, The motivation is simple. I mean, I mean I'm a, I'm a Christian, I'm a pro life, from as you can get. Yeah, it was a 15 weeks abortion, ban. Just saying that you couldn't. Abortion couldn't be performed, in gestation past 15 weeks. And we able to pass that. Of course it got. You had The liberal groups come after it and The constitutionality of it and all that stuff. And you know, with The way that The court is now went all The way up to The Supreme Court and it basically overturn Roe v. Wade. I am eternally grateful, for The opportunity to have not only co author it to, but to help argue it and to help pass it on The House floor and do it, Usher it through The process. So, you know, for one of The most, probably The top five things, it's up there for The things that I did in The legislature. And I'm eternally grateful for American Family, for you guys putting your foot on The base, for The team that you have that helps supports legislators like me. because, believe it or not, that makes a difference when you. When you get that back, that support from people and you get that slap, on The back that says, hey, we're with you, and we're going to walk through this with you, it makes it that much easier. So you guys have a lot to do with that, and I thank you for it.
Walker Wildmon Well, I appreciate that. And it's a truly team effort. I mean, legislators, they have their role, but policy groups and those that draft legislation and lawyers, they all got to work together to get good stuff done. And so that's what, we've done over The years with you and others. And it's been very, very beneficial for everyone involved. And The one thing I love about it, one thing I'll compliment you on.
Nick Bain is running for state auditor in Mississippi
Representative Bain, once again, we're talking to Nick Bain, former state House member here in Mississippi. Now he's running for state auditor. one thing I appreciate about you and others, is that, you just want to get a win. And. And it doesn't matter how we get The win. We just got to get The win. A lot of people in politics, or some people in politics, are about themselves. They're about getting The accolades and The attention and The credit. but you and others that, we've worked with have just been phenomenal, because you're focused on just getting stuff done, getting good stuff done, whether you get credit or not.
Bain worked on legislation aimed at preventing medical providers from performing transgender procedures
Representative, Bain, another, piece of legislation, and I do want to ask about your run for auditor and some of The goals you have there. one of The other, pieces of legislation that you worked on was in 2023, and that was called The REAP Act. This had to do with regulate, experimental adolescent procedures, and it was aimed at preventing medical providers at performing these terrible gender transition procedures on minors. So talk a little about that and The success of that bill.
Nick Bain Yeah, that sounds pretty common sense, right? If you're The age of 18, you shouldn't be able to consent to having, a transgender surgery. But, you know, that was altered by Gene Newman and Speaker Gunn. Philip Gunn at The time, came to me and said, hey, can you handle this on The floor? I said, sure. Give me some Time to study it. I did. And what I found out through that studying process, Walker, was yes, there's a lot of kids doing this, but of those, there's a whole lot of regrets with those kids that have gone through this too. but The bottom line is it just seems common sense that if you're under The age of 18, we shouldn't be doing this to our children. The children shouldn't be able to make those decisions on their behalf and The state of Mississippi shouldn't be paying for that. So I mean, if you get over 18, 21, whatever The age may be, and you want to do that or you feel that you need to do that, that's different. But our children, it is incumbent upon us as parents, incumbent upon us as, you know, Christ told us what we do to least these we do to him. And that's exactly The case we have. It's incumbent upon us to protect our children, and not to, not to make them victims of some type of agenda. So I was proud to argue that. I argued it for about three or four hours. Three or four hours in Mississippi on something that you and I think, I believe is common sense. But we argued that for about three or four hours. We were able to pass it got above, got about 80 votes out of 120 member body. And then it went over to The Senate and then governor. The governor signed it and it is law.
Walker Wildmon Absolutely. Very encouraging and helping protect children all around Mississippi. And similar legislation has been replicated across The country in various states as well. Well, last question. Representative Cain is our Bain rather. What are you, running for state auditor for? Tell us a little bit of background there and some of The goals that you have as state auditor.
Nick Bain Right. Well, thank you. Yes. I'm a lawyer by trade, but I've represented cities and counties my whole career and also been a part of public corruption cases. And it's just like that reap Act, Walker. I mean The state of Mississippi was spending about $10 million a year on that of your money, mine and your money. And I don't think as conservatives that's something we want to be talking about. So we need a conservative in that office who can look at those things and say, hey, look, this may not be wasteful spending, but I do believe it's a misspent of taxpayers money because this isn't in a line with Mississippi values. So it's things like that. And you know, I was able to, as chairman, I passed a bill that allowed for law enforcement officers to go Specifically in. And look specifically for embezzlement and fraud issues to cut down and to protect taxpayers money. And also after my stint in The legislature, I was appointed to, The Mississippi Ethics Committee and in The Ethics Commission. That's what we do. We look to make sure our public officials behaving in an ethical manner. So it's a natural fit for me. I'm excited about it. We launched on Monday officially, and I've done interviews all over The state and back home now talking to you guys in northeast Mississippi and glad to be back home, but it's a natural fit. Like I said, ready to go. And I look forward to The conversation and to telling people our story and to telling them why we think we can save, The state of Mississippi a whole lot of money and a whole lot of heartache.

And there are good people out there running for public office. Todd Blanche is doing a phenomenal job as acting U.S. attorney
I want to end The show with this, clip that I've had in The queue over The weekend. And this is a U.S. attorney. this U.S. attorney is out of The Northeast and he was on CNBC or, yeah, cnbc talking, about The Southern Poverty Law center and this, this false influence campaign that they were indicted on by The doj. By The way, before I play this clip, we've only got four or five minutes left. The new acting attorney, The acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, is doing a Phenomenal job, by The way. Way.
Walker Wildmon I mean, we've gotten more done, whether it's The SPLC indictments, whether it's The Fauci Associate indictment, The James Comey indictment just yesterday or this morning. we've had more positive developments out of The DOJ in The last three weeks than we did under Pam Bondi for a year. And I wouldn't have predicted that because Todd Blanch used to be a Democrat, but before 2024 and so, or before, The last few years. And so he's surprising me and I've got to give him kudos. So I'm happy right now with The acting Attorney General. And if he keeps doing this, he just needs to be The ag. That's my opinion. But I digress. Let's play this clip. This is The US Attorney talking about these false influence campaigns, like what The SPLC did and how they move public opinion. Clip 1.
US Attorney from the Southern District of NY We had a case in The Justice Department last week, The Southern Poverty Law center, at bottom, and these are allegations, but at bottom, The allegations are that this organization was creating hate in order to expand their mission, of combating hate. If that's going on, and it is, it's going on in America. It's going on through organizations like that. It's also going on with folks, foreign actors funding these types of organizations because they want us to fight with each other. So everybody needs to take a step back and say, who is causing me to have these emotions? And are we, are we creating an environment where those emotions are causing us to do things that are harmful to The American public?
Walker Wildmon Nail on The head. nail on The head is what just happened there with that U.S. attorney when he was on CNBC. Of course he's highlighting The SPLC indictment, but this is part of a broader problem. By The way, The Name of The U.S. attorney is Jay Clayton. He's The U.S. attorney out of The Southern District of NewSong York. this is. Folks, I think this problem of, false influence is more rampant than we know. And I'm hoping The FBI and The DOJ will continue pursuing this type work in these type cases. Because as he alluded to there, if this is happening domestically with domestic organizations, this has to be happening internationally with foreign organizations. And what I'm talking about here, when I say false influence campaigns, what I'm specifically referring to is unorganic political and ideological influence campaigns going on in The media and in The podcast world, in The broadcast world, all around this country. And so, for example, there were, there's questions about valid questions based on The evidence about who funded all of The BLM riots in 2020 and 2021. Who funded it? You're telling me all these agitators, all these rioters, all these looters that just happen to have pallets of bricks placed at just The right location, and they just happen to have The charter bus drop them off at just The right location, you're telling me all of that was just, you know, proud Americans on their own dime showing up to let their voice be heard? No, don't think so. Do not think so. And so if we have organizations, individuals, entities that are paying to have these false influence campaigns, these unorganic influence campaigns go on to further divide Americans and furthermore, to create violence and criminality that ought to be investigated.
