Walker Wildmon: Welcome to our fall Shareathon 2026. I cannot believe we are already toward the end of the calendar year. This is our fall Shareathon, and we are going to have a great hour. This is Walker Wildmon. This is your typical At the Core hour with myself and Rick Green, but today Rob West, host of Faith and Finance, is with us. I am glad to be with you for this hour. Rob, welcome back to this next Shareathon.
Rob West: I am so excited to be with you this hour, Walker. I believe it is going to be a big hour. We have already seen so many people getting involved during our fall Shareathon. It is our first full day, and it is an opportunity for people to respond. More than a thousand people have already gotten involved, and that is great. We need to keep this movement going as people partner with us.
Walker Wildmon: Maybe you are new to American Family Radio. Maybe this is even your first Shareathon. We are listener-supported, so without our listeners all around the country and the world, we would not operate. We would not be here. By the Lord's providence, we are here, and we have supporters who enable us to continue strong.
Walker Wildmon: This is what Shareathon is about. It is three days in the fall and three days in the spring. Then, on Thursday evening and Friday morning, we will return to our regular programming. We are taking a brief pause to ask for support, and then we will get back to the regular schedule.
Walker Wildmon: We have a midterm election coming up in just under 30 days. One of the things we do is educate voters through our iVoterGuide division and through AFA Action. A lot of people care about what is happening in our country, in government, and in state capitals around the country.
Walker Wildmon: We are working to keep thousands and tens of thousands of Christians engaged all around the country, knowing what is happening in government, how they can be engaged, and how they can advance righteousness through elections and civic involvement. As we head into the midterm season, make sure you are registered to vote and that you vote. More importantly, support American Family Radio so we can continue activating and equipping Christians around the country to be salt and light.
Walker Wildmon: Our theme is “Stand Firm,” from 1 Corinthians 16. That is what we try to do here at AFR, and ultimately that is what we want Christians all around the country to do: stand firm.
Rob West: That is exactly right. We take that mandate seriously. It is a huge responsibility to come alongside you and make sure that you understand what is happening in our culture so you can pray, respond, and engage the culture in thoughtful discourse and dialogue.
Rob West: We want you to show up and vote, having been prepared by iVoterGuide. We want you to be involved in the work of AFA Action. We want to strengthen and encourage you in the faith as it relates to bringing a biblical worldview to every facet of your life: the way you raise your children, the way you engage your culture, the way you show up in the marketplace, and the way you handle your finances.
Rob West: You would be hard-pressed to search the Scriptures and not see that part of God's design is for His provision, because it all belongs to Him, to flow through us into His activities and the things He is doing. He is touching and changing lives through the power of the gospel.
Rob West: Shareathon is an invitation to allow God's provision to flow through you into the American Family Association so that we can reach more people with the gospel, equip and strengthen the church, and engage thoughtful Christians in the marketplace. That is what you are a part of.
Rob West: We are not asking you to do something you cannot do. Each person should give according to his or her ability. Whatever your part is, we ask that you make your best gift.
Walker Wildmon: We have brought in our volunteers and team members, including our donor support team. If you listen to American Family Radio, you benefit from the programming. Maybe you download several podcasts each week and listen to them. All of this is brought to you by the ministry of American Family Radio and the American Family Association.
Walker Wildmon: We are a nonprofit organization. We rely on donations, large and small, from around the country each year to stay strong, impact culture and government, and do all things for God's glory. That is what we are doing here at American Family Radio.
Walker Wildmon: We broadcast 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. When people call in to donate, pray for us, or encourage us, we take it as a tremendous encouragement. Rob and I, along with the rest of our team, talk into a microphone for an hour or two each day, and we do not always know whether we are impacting lives or whether people are benefiting from the programming.
Walker Wildmon: When people call in and share their support, it boosts our energy and morale here at American Family Radio. We hear from people all around the country, and those calls remind us that the Lord is using this ministry.
Austin Brooks: I am Austin Brooks, the director of American Family Studios. I came to AFA about 16 years ago. I went to Asbury University, where I studied film production, multimedia production, graphic design, and related subjects.
Austin Brooks: About a month after I graduated, a friend contacted me and said he had been at a conference where he met an organization called the American Family Association. They were looking for people involved in video production. He had given them my name, and I said absolutely.
Austin Brooks: I was not aware of AFA at the time, but I received a phone call from AFA and talked with them over the phone. Then I drove from Kentucky to Tupelo, Mississippi, for a job interview, and the rest is history. I married my wife three months later. She also graduated from Asbury, and we have lived here ever since.
Austin Brooks: Throughout college, while studying multimedia production and film production, I prayed that if there were a way for me to use my gifts to honor and glorify the Lord, specifically by creating things that would encourage and uplift Christians, I wanted to do that if possible.
Austin Brooks: I did not know whether there was an organization where that would be possible, but then AFA came along. In God's providence, He provided that opportunity, and I have loved my 16 years here.
Austin Brooks: With every project we have produced and released, we receive emails and phone calls. We talk with people personally at events, and they tell us, “Thank you so much for creating this resource. It has been so beneficial.”
Austin Brooks: People have told us that our resources gave them confidence to speak truth to family members who may not agree with the Christian worldview. They have said the resources gave them the knowledge and information they needed to represent Christ, stand for truth, and love others as well as they could.
Greg: Good morning. My name is Greg in Shelby, Ohio. I want to say that we are grateful to God for the AFR and AFA ministry. My wife and I appreciate the continued growth, the podcast options for daily programs, and the lineup of podcasts for weekly programs. They are a real blessing for review and repeat listening. Thank you again.
Walker Wildmon: We are taking a brief pause from our regular programming to ask for your prayers and support, and then we will return to Faith and Finance, At the Core, Exploring the Word, Today's Issues, Trivia Friday, and all the other great programming here.
Walker Wildmon: Our theme is “Stand Firm,” from 1 Corinthians 16:13-14. We need to stand firm on the Word of God, stand firm on our convictions, and stand firm on the things that matter most according to the Bible and what God's Word says about how we should live, impact others, and be salt and light.
Walker Wildmon: The specific passage says, “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love.” That should define our work here at American Family Radio. It is my prayer that it will define our lives as Christians around the country and around the world.
Walker Wildmon: We meet people all around the country who listen to AFR, and the testimonies we receive are powerful. We try to share as many as possible during Shareathon.
Walker Wildmon: We were in Boston about two weeks ago, and there was a woman who had listened to and supported American Family Radio for years. Her granddaughter was struggling with gender dysphoria, what is now known as transgenderism, and questions about her sexual identity.
Walker Wildmon: The grandmother had obtained the film In His Image, which AFA produced in 2021. She brought her granddaughter to her home for the weekend and watched the film with her.
Walker Wildmon: In His Image is one of the top documentaries and films we have produced. It discusses God's design for human sexuality, addresses many of the myths surrounding homosexuality and transgenderism, and presents a full biblical case for embracing how God created us.
Walker Wildmon: The young woman was 17 at the time, and her life was completely impacted by the film. She is now embracing God's design for her life and her sexuality as God designed it. It was powerful to hear how one film produced by AFA impacted her life and turned it around for God's glory.
Walker Wildmon: We have received hundreds and thousands of other testimonies like that about In His Image. It is just one project, one film, among dozens and dozens that we have produced here at American Family Radio. Our work is impacting lives.
Rob West: You listen to AFR all the time and count on American Family Radio for your favorite programs. You may listen to At the Core, Trivia Friday, Faith and Finance, or many of the other programs. When you support Shareathon, you are supporting every ministry through the American Family Association.
Rob West: That includes One Million Moms, AFA Action, corporate engagement, The Stand magazine, American Family Studios, and iVoterGuide. All of it is supported through this work, and God is on the move.
Rob West: In this time when our culture is waning and we desperately need the gospel, we need to step into the gap and bring the truth of Jesus Christ. That is what you are supporting. God is giving us more opportunities than ever as new stations are acquired and new methods are raised up to reach people to the ends of the earth through the app, the web, and podcasts.
Rob West: We cannot do it without you. We need people to step forward and become involved in this work. We want to inform, equip, and activate the body of Christ to be salt and light in our country, our culture, and every facet of life.
Walker Wildmon: Even during Shareathon, we are still airing regular programming in the evening. We are still educating people through the newscast every hour, providing a five-minute newscast to let them know what is happening.
Walker Wildmon: In the midst of Shareathon, we are still informing, equipping, and activating people around the country. We are still providing financial advice, Bible teaching, news, cultural engagement, and all the other content available through American Family Radio.
Rob West: In God's economy, we think about money put into the advancement of the gospel and compounding for all eternity. We are not talking about a typical 70 or 50 years of compounding. We are talking about 10,000 years of compounding. That is the way God's math works.
Rob West: Walker, the rest of the team, and I are often in the studio surrounded by four walls. We hear stories of lives changed periodically, but we do not often experience the full impact of the work. We know it is bearing fruit because God's Word does not return void.
Rob West: We stand on the truth. We always have, going back to the very beginning of AFA and AFR. Brother Don was always about God's Word, transforming the culture through a biblical worldview, and taking the gospel to the ends of the earth.
Fred Jackson: Hi, I am Fred Jackson, news director here at American Family Radio. After spending at least 20 years in secular broadcasting news departments in various places in Canada, I realized that the ethics of news had changed dramatically.
Fred Jackson: News had moved from simply telling the facts of a story to trying to lead people to a conclusion reflecting a very liberal, secular worldview. As a Christian, I knew I could not stay in that environment.
Fred Jackson: More than 28 years ago, I went looking for a place where God could use my experience in secular news in a Christian environment. God led me to visit American Family Radio. On the day I visited, I spoke briefly with Brother Don, our founder, and by that evening he offered me a job.
Fred Jackson: After I legally immigrated from Canada, I became the news director here. We had a very small team at that time, but God has blessed us, and we now have a great team of reporters who do what we were designed to do: give the news from a Christian perspective.
Fred Jackson: I think the world needs to see what is going on from a biblical perspective. We see Satan's crowd very busy trying to mislead people. American Family Radio attempts to provide the news of the day from a Christian perspective.
Fred Jackson: Our reporters are all Christians. They understand a biblical worldview, and each day we attempt to give you the news of the day from that perspective.
Mary: This is Mary from Chattanooga, Tennessee. I have really enjoyed listening to your programs on the radio and participating in Prayer Experience for prayer needs. I also enjoy Trivia Friday, Learning University, and many of your other programs.
Mary: I appreciate the ministry and all that you do to encourage people in their journey and help them grow in learning more about faith, God, and the Bible. Thank you.
Walker Wildmon: We are reaching people with the gospel of Jesus Christ and the truth of God's Word every day here on American Family Radio. Throughout the year, we receive testimony after testimony of God using AFR to impact lives, save marriages, and bring prodigal children home.
Walker Wildmon: When you hear these powerful testimonies, it is very moving. That is what God is doing through AFR. It is not because of Rob or me. It is because God is using us. We are simply here to be vessels and tools for God's kingdom and purposes.
Walker Wildmon: We have stations in more than 30 states and more than 160 signals, but through the app we have people listening all around the country and even around the world. We occasionally receive emails from South Korea or somewhere in Europe from people who say they receive our programming through the app and that God is using AFR in their lives.
Walker Wildmon: We can only do that because of listeners who financially support our work. Our listeners make it possible for this ministry to continue reaching people.
Rob West: We love these days because they are a huge encouragement to us. We get to see thousands of people saying, “I am with you. I believe in it. I love it.” People share their testimonies, favorite stories, and prayer requests, and we pray over those requests.
Rob West: Whether people found the ministry last week or have been listening for three decades, we are grateful to hear from them. This is an opportunity for listeners to step into the work and support the ministry.
Walker Wildmon: When people call in and participate, their support funds much more than a radio station or a magazine. We have a government affairs division and AFA Action, which advances pro-family policy and legislation around the country.
Walker Wildmon: We have a monthly magazine mailed to more than 70,000 homes. We have an entire news division that provides the five-minute newscast at the top of the hour, bringing news from a Christian perspective.
Walker Wildmon: We have One Million Moms engaging and fighting back against harmful content on television, in culture, and in media. We also have shareholder engagement. Rob West, Jerry Boyer, and others work on corporate engagement, speaking truth into America's corporate boardrooms from a Christian, pro-family perspective.
Walker Wildmon: All of this is made possible through the support of listeners.
Greg: This is Greg from Jackson, Tennessee. I have been listening to AFR for approximately 20 years, and I am always blessed, encouraged, and edified by it.
Greg: The thing the Holy Spirit has been impressing me with lately is brainwashing. One of the pastors talked about it on the program one day. All brains are being washed. If you are alive and thinking, your brain is being washed, but the best place for brainwashing is the truth of God's Word, and that is what you get every day on AFR.
Greg: I came up with a little saying: “Brains need washing. This is very true.” Support and listen to AFR. Thank you, God bless, and keep up the good work.
Walker Wildmon: That is renewal of the mind and the washing of the mind through God's Word. The Scripture passage that comes to mind when I hear that testimony is Romans 12:2: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is, His good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Walker Wildmon: That is not even our theme, but it relates to listening to things that are wholesome and content that is beneficial, content that advances and aligns with God's kingdom, His holy Word, and His will for your life.
Walker Wildmon: That is what we are trying to do here at American Family Radio through a variety of content. You can get financial advice, ask Bible questions on Exploring the Word, enjoy a little laughter on Trivia Friday, or listen to At the Core and receive political and constitutional insight from Rick Green.
Walker Wildmon: All of this is made available through American Family Radio.
Walker Wildmon: Welcome to our fall Shareathon 2026. I cannot believe we are already toward the end of the calendar year. This is our fall Shareathon, and we are going to have a great hour. Walker Wildmon hosts Rob West for a discussion about American Family Radio’s mission to equip Christians for faithful engagement in culture. Austin Brooks, Director of American Family Studios, shares how God led him to create resources that encourage believers and help them speak truth with courage.
Fred Jackson, AFR News Director, explains why he left secular broadcasting after seeing news shift from reporting facts toward leading audiences to liberal, secular conclusions. He describes AFR’s effort to present news from a Christian perspective. The hour also highlights listener testimonies, including the impact of AFA’s documentary In His Image and the renewing power of biblical content.
