John Chapter nine talks about physical ailments in a fallen world
Well, before we turn our attention to some of the news and we discuss it and talk through it and apply a biblical worldview to the news of the day, let's turn our attention to the scripture. We're wrapping up John chapter 9 this week. We usually pick one or two verses out of each chapter as we continue our study of God's word. John chapter nine, looking At verses one through three. Now, as Jesus passed by, he saw a man who was blind from birth. And his disciples asked him, saying, rabbi, who sinned this man or his parents that he was born blind? Jesus answered, neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him. And so, there are several things we can take away from this. But, what is clear and undisputable is that in this life we will have pain, we will have suffering. And in some instances, some people have more pain and more suffering than others. That's just the nature of fallen man. And what Jesus is pointing out here to his disciples is that it's not past generational sin, past generation sin that curses one necessarily. But. But it's just the simple fact that we live in a fallen world. And with a fallen world comes physical ailments. Physical ailments. And that's what this man had. He had a physical ailment. And, Jesus says, look, this man, is not blind because of his mom's sin or his dad's sin. this man is blind because I'm about to work a miracle in his life. And that is going to serve for the advancement of God's will on this earth. And so, oftentimes we can't necessarily know all, that God thinks and all of the reasoning behind why God does what he does beyond what he reveals to us in His Word and through His Holy Spirit. But At least in this case, the Lord allowed a physical ailment to exist with this blind man so that he could work in his life and perform a miracle. And so that, gives us At least some understanding, as to why we have the elements that we have. And ultimately it goes down to, the fall of Adam and Eve and the fact that sin and fallenness exist in this world as we see it today. With that being said, you can look At other parts of Scripture and, and you can see that, previous generation sins do have an impact on future generations. Not necessarily physical impact from a blindness or lame standpoint, but, how we, for example, how we, handle our marriages and the raising of our children will ultimately impact how, the. Our children raise their children and the values that they teach their children. So, what previous generations do and how they live does matter. but it doesn't necessarily curse people, to a physical ailment, as the disciples were questioning here. That's John, chapter nine, verses one through three. And if you thought you couldn't, you know, chase a few rabbits there, well, we just did.

Talk about the implications of Venezuela. Talk about Iran right now
All right, let's, let's talk about, two things on today's program and then we'll bring Chris into the last segment and we'll see what he has on the table. But, let's talk At least the rest of this segment about what's going on in Venezuela. But let's kind of zoom out a little bit. Talk about the implications of Venezuela. There's some situations going on in Iran and all of this is part of President Trump's foreign policy to put America first. So we have to really put the pieces of the puzzle together to understand how this works. The first thing I want to say is I do think that the Trump administration has to be very careful here with how all of these things unfold. Because when you're dealing with nations like Venezuela, like Iran, things can, can, can spiral into chaos pretty quickly. And, and before you know it, and we've, we've seen that in, in the past with other countries, with other, ah, nations like Syria and other places, Libya, where things get out of control. And before you know it, you've got a regional crisis and a humanitarian crisis like we're seeing, in Gaza and Egypt as we speak. and so I think the Trump administration needs to be very cautious and very methodical in how they go about all of these situations because Iran is on the brink of falling as we speak. Iranian, protests are growing, hundreds of thousands of Iranians are in the streets, and they want the Ayatollah gone. That's a fact. That happening right now in Iran as we speak. What does the Ayatollah falling look like? I'm not really sure. I'm not really sure what this looks like. it's very organic. by the way, Christianity, is, the fastest growing region in the world. Where Christianity is obviously growing and people are converting is Iran. Iran is where the gospel is prospering the most. All around the world. The gospel is prospering the most in Iran. I've heard that countless times. And a lot of the studies show that. So there's not only Christians now in Iran, and a lot of them, you would be surprised on the numbers. but even the Muslims there are very unhappy with the Ayatollah, because, it's been a very brutal environment, for a long time in Iran, and their freedoms have been squashed. They don't have individual liberty. They don't have Western values. And it's a very brutal place to live. Not a lot of freedom there. And the people are tired of it, and so they're rising up and they're trying to, overthrow the, Ayatollah in Iran. So what does that look like? If Iran falls? What does that look like? I'm not really sure. But that's why I say that the President Trump has to be very careful here, in how all this plays out. The, other thing I want to mention on Venezuela is that, there's about a million Venezuelan refugees currently in the US These are illegal refugees, by the way. there's about 1 million legal Venezuelan refugees in the US as we speak today. One point that was brought up by a commentator on X is that, hey, if we can secure a free and prosperous Venezuela, then we, can allow these 1 million Venezuelan refugees to go back home safely. Why not? Right? And that gets them, off of government aid. If any of them, which I'm sure some of them are, it gets them out of our housing and puts them back in Venezuela, which is their home country. And I wouldn't be surprised if some of them, maybe not all, would actually like to go back to their country if it's a place where they can live freely. But in order to be a political refugee here and to get asylum, you have to prove that, you were targeted for your political beliefs there in Venezuela. And so that was a good point as well, is that, hey, securing Venezuela allows these Venezuelans about a million of them to go back home. That's a big deal. That's good for our country because, it lifts the burden, if you will, for the services that we've been providing to those Venezuelans.
There's a tension between isolationism and intervention when it comes to foreign policy
the other thing I want to address is, and I'm kind of going all over the place, but this all has to do with foreign policy. The other thing I want to address is this tension between isolationism and intervention At every turn. And this is pretty much the decision and kind of the two sides of the aisle that you have to be on, it seems like when it comes to foreign policy. And so you've got the Rand Paul's of the world, the Tucker Carlsen's of the world, and people like that are very much on the, against intervention in foreign affairs. All right? And there's not much you could say that would convince somebody like Rand Paul that we shouldn't intervene on in foreign affairs. There's not hardly any situation where he would say that's a good thing. Very much, hey, America, just stay to yourself, stick to yourself, don't intervene in foreign affairs. All right? So that's kind of one side of the aisle. the other side of the aisle is the Lindsey Grahams of the world. And I really, I understand where your Rand Paul's are coming from, I understand where your isolationists are coming from, because we've got a bad track record of foreign intervention. It hardly ever goes well, but At least in modern history, that is. But when you look At the viewpoint of those like Lindsey Graham and others who are looking At and Mark Levin who are looking At you know, overthrowing the regimes that we don't like At every turn, foreign intervention all over the place, right? We need to be in Ukraine, we need to be in Iran, we need to be in Venezuela. We need to be everywhere, right? Fixing everybody's problems, taking down every dictator, they would say that has its problems too. So both of these extreme sides, one or the other, they both have their weaknesses, they both have their flaws. The reality, is that, is that in order for America to succeed, we really have to figure out a balance between the two. All right? And I think that's what President Trump is doing here. Because if we completely isolate and we refuse to intervene in any foreign affairs in the name of whatever type of libertarian viewpoint you hold, well, that's just not going to work. It's just not going to work. And Venezuela is actually a prime example. The, when you, when you take the isolationist approach, you are ceding ground to our foreign adversaries of, by the way, who have no problem intervening in foreign affairs At all. I mean, China's building islands in the South China Sea. China's, you know, trying to covertly take over nations all around the country, all around the world, rather. And so our foreign adversaries have no problem with foreign intervention. I mean, Vladimir Putin sent troops into Ukraine, all right? What more foreign intervention do you get than that? And they're still there after three years, by the way. And so our foreign adversaries have zero moral dilemma when it comes to foreign intervention. They do this every day of the week. The problem we have, if we go down that path of isolationism, which is a facto what it is, people can dispute that term, isolationism. That's de facto, what your Rand Pauls are running on. The problem with that is you allow our adversaries to get in our backyard. And when you let our adversaries in our backyard in the name of we're not intervening, intervening in foreign affairs, whether it's Cuba, Venezuela, etcetera, you are putting America At serious risk here by allowing China, Russia, Iran, and others to get in our backyard. And the thing that people like Xi, like the Ayatollah of Iran, like Vladimir Putin, the thing about these guys is they don't have any restraint. These guys want to go for whatever they can get. And so you really do have to have a strong man on the block. And in this instance, the strongman on the block is President Trump and the US we'll talk more about this after the break.

Overdose deaths actually spiked under President Biden, whether it's opioids or cocaine
That is ah, and this is directly related to Venezuela, to Mexico, to Colombia and other Central and South American countries is the amount of overdose deaths. All right? These cartels have been criminally and morally liable for the, for the multibillion dollar industry that is illicit drugs. And it's been killing hundreds of thousands of Americans over the history, millions of Americans and hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands every year. And it's a travesty. But things are actually trending in the right direction. Overdose deaths actually spiked under President Biden, whether it's opioids, methamphetamine or cocaine. These are the three categories and then there's an all drug category which gets into maybe some of your opioids and stuff. but this chart which we'll all link to on the show notes on the podcast page shows that under President Biden, overdose death, overdose deaths spiked, they spiked. This is by the hundreds of thousands. This this chart. So this shows that okay, under President Biden they went up pretty drastically. And then under the latter part of the Biden administration and the early part of the Trump administration, the overdose deaths have begun dropping drastically. And I will say, just so we're fair here, some of this data of the improving numbers was under the latter part of the Biden administration. So this isn't a 100%, you know, President Trump thing. But I can only suggest, and only you know, guess that what President Trump is doing on the border and with taking out the cartels in their own backyard, in their own territory like Venezuela is only, only going to make these numbers drastically, drastically improve. And so we're on the way to being back At or below pre, Covid levels when it comes to overdose deaths. And so overdose deaths are continuing to drop pretty drastically ah, around the country. And so this is a good trend to see and I think President Trump's policies are going to continue to aid in that project. So in that process. So I will link to that right now for Mr. Bobby Rosa. Alright, so that's that on the foreign policy front.
Shooting of ICE officer in Minneapolis was 100% avoidable, expert says
Now let's move domestic and talk about what's going on in Minneapolis. That's the elephant in the room. Just this week the the Immigration and Customs Enforcement were carrying out routine enforcement operations in Minneapolis, Minnesota. And many of you now have seen this video At this point. But the left wing antifa types, those that are intervening are interfering rather in these federal law enforcement activities, Are, being very dangerous. And so in this instance, in this shooting that happened in Minneapolis with an ICE officer and someone, driving a vehicle into the ICE officer, this, the context here is that these ICE officers in Minneapolis on Wednesday were conducting routine operations and they had pretty much a caravan of people harassing them throughout the day. And so this group of officers had been dealing with, with these, these rioters and with these harassers all day long. And they were actually harassing the law enforcement officers with their vehicles. They were blocking their motorcade, intervening in their operations. It was very dangerous situation. And it really escalated when the when this person, when this female driving the vehicle decided that she would disobey a lawful order by a federal officer to stop the vehicle and get out of the vehicle, which she had since blocked all the officers in the road and as they were approaching her vehicle, she began to back it up and then drive it forward into the officer. As one officer is hanging out the window and another officer is directly in front of the vehicle, she backs up and drives directly into the officer, he fires his weapon and she has since deceased. So the whole situation is sad. The fact that any life was lost is very sad, very unfortunate. There's nothing, quote, good about this situation. So it's a tragedy to begin with, the fact that we have loss of life. But I want to point out that it was 100% avoidable. This was 100% avoidable. And this is the fact that we've got left wing protesters that are getting so amped up, they're getting so hyped up by this media rhetoric and this Democrat rhetoric, that they feel like they should go put their lives on the line for what, for an illegal immigrant? Is like, is this where we are now? That you want to die for any illegal immigrant? Why is that a good idea? Why would you do that? And so it really doesn't make any sense. This was 100% avoidable. It's a tragedy. But in my vantage point after watching the video on multiple angles, the officer was justified here. This was a justified use of force. When you are a federal law enforcement officer, or a private citizen for that matter, and you feel as though that your life is At risk or you are At threat for serious bodily harm, not just death, you can use lethal force, a justifiable lethal force. And that's what this officer did. Not to mention, this officer had been drug over 100 yards by an illegal immigrant just six months prior. And he was actually hospitalized with over 30 stitches in that incident. And so this officer had already been drugged by a vehicle before. That's a little bit of the context in his frame of mind as he had to discharge his firearm. And so I think he'll, I think he'll be, justified when the investigation is done. But it's a sad situation and these people just need to get out of the way. They just need to get out of the way. They need to stop impeding on these law enforcement activities and let the Feds do what they got to do. They're going after criminals, they're going after illegal immigrants. All these left wing protesters, just need to get out of the way.
Vice President Vance announced that the Trump administration will create a fraud task force
Also in Minnesota, kind of running parallel and really what led to this surge of ICE officers is the fraud, the rampant multi billion dollar fraud that has since been uncovered in Minnesota, where these Somali immigrants had these fake daycares and these fake schools set up. And they were funneling hundreds of millions, if not billions of dollars into these private, into these nonprofits that were actually shadow, nonprofits, they were shell nonprofits. There was actually nothing going on there. There were no kids present. This is a multi billion dollar fraud scheme. Now, there's actually been a criminal referral to the Department of Justice for the Governor Tim Walls, who has since said he's not running for reelection and we believe because he's under serious pressure, possible criminal indictment regarding this entire fraud scheme. Vice President Vance came out to the podium At the White House just yesterday and broke the news that he and President Trump are appointing an Assistant Attorney General solely focused on fraudulent activities At the DOJ.
>> JD Vance: Clip 2 if you're a young parent struggling to afford child care in the United States of America, there are programs that we have to make it easier for your kids to get in daycare, for your kids to get in preschool. Those programs should go to American citizens, not be defrauded by Somali immigrants. And others make it hard for you to get the access to the resources you need. But number two, making it easier for people who shouldn't even be in this country to fleece the United States and our taxpayers to begin with, we have actually activated a major interagency task force to make it possible to get to the heart of this fraud. We have Department of Agriculture resources that are focused on SNAP fraud so that people who need food benefits can get them, but illegal aliens and other fraudsters don't. We have, over 1500 subpoenas that the Department of Justice has issued to get to the heart of the fraud ring. We've done almost 100 indictments, mostly Somali immigrants, but also a few others. And of course, we're looking in with broad investigatory authority to a number of the instances of wrongdoing that we've seen in Minneapolis. But we also want to expand this. We know that the fraud isn't just happening in Minneapolis. It's also happening in states like Ohio, it's happening in states like California. And so what we're doing in order to help coordinate this remarkable interagency effort from the Trump administration, but also to make sure that we prosecute the bad guys and do it as swiftly and efficiently as possible, is we are creating a new Assistant Attorney General position who will have nationwide jurisdiction over the issue of fraud. Now, of course, that person's efforts will start and focus primarily in Minnesota, but it is going to be a nationwide effort because unfortunately, the American people have been defrauded in a very nationwide way.
>> Walker Wildmon: All right, there you have it. We now have an Assistant AG position that's going to be appointed by the President very soon that is solely going to be focused on fraud At the federal level all around the country, though, targeting every, all 50 states. So this Attorney General, this Assistant Attorney General rather, is going to be solely focused on these fraudulent schemes targeting the federal welfare programs. All right, this is a very, very big deal. And this is very much needed because this fraud ring, if you will, is massive. It's massive. All right, There are reports out that the fraud in California is actually more than what was going on in Minnesota, which Minnesota was in the billions in the multi billion dollar fraud. And dozens, nearly, a hundred actually have been indicted in Minnesota alone on this. And it was actually IRS investigators that uncovered this, which we'll play that clip here shortly or in the next segment. But that's a very big announcement by the Vice President. And this, folks, I saw this commentary, so I can't, I can't act as if this is original, if we're being honest, but I saw this commentary on X and it was basically making the point that without the fraud, without the election cheating, without the, usaid, without the mainstream media and the corporate public broadcasting and all of these kind of shadow entities that are all sucking money to the tune of hundreds of billions from our federal government. Without all of that, you basically don't have a Democrat party. And this is why they are fighting so hard. I mean, you had the Governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, use the word. He said this exact quote. he said in a press conference the other day, he said, you know, I don't know that we've ever been At war. I don't know that Minnesota has ever been At war with the federal government. He said that. So the Democrats are using civil war terminology when they're talking about President Trump, the Republicans and conservative states. That's what's going on here. And the reason that Democrats are fighting for their life is because they're literally fighting for their political life here. How much money did Ilhan Omar and others get from these Somali immigrants that ultimately came from the federal government through these, through these, scandalous fraud schemes? I would love to know that. How much campaign money went to Tim Walsh for governor that ultimately came from the federal government through these fraud schemes. All of the USAID money, hundreds of billions of dollars in USAID money being sent all around the world, ending up in the hands of terrorists, funneled right back to the pockets of American politicians. This is how it works, folks. And so what President Trump is disrupting through investigating this fraud is he's actually disrupting the Democrat Party apparatus as we know it. I want to play this one more clip. Bobby, how much time you think we got left? Couple minutes. Okay, let's play clip three.
>> Treas Sec'y Bessent: IRS called Criminal investigations. And. These men and women, they are cool cats. They can take apart a balance sheet and they can knock down a door and arrest someone. They go out on patrols, they can make arrests. It's this very interesting hybrid force, about 2500 of them, and they led the charge here. So it was IRS cis who they, uncovered the initial fraud and the prosecutions. So, it's with that group, with, other groups At irs, and with the powers of the treasury to track where the money came from, where it's going. We saw this very unsettling news yesterday that, many people involved here with the administration of these programs have tried to go back and recreate documents, change documents, and, we're not, we're not going to have that. We are going to hold people accountable. We're going to press, this to the full extent possible. And like I said, I, I think that this may just be cold.
>> Walker Wildmon: There you have it. That's. That's Treasury Secretary Scott Bessett. He goes on to say that the tune of the fraud here is estimated to be between 300 and 600 billion dollars annually across the entire United States. That's 3 to 5% of our GDP in fraudulent schemes in all 50 states. This is a very, very big deal. And Minneapolis, my friends, and Minnesota, rather, is, just the tip of the iceberg. And so President Trump is, is going after the core and the root of the Democrat Party base. We'll be back.

VP J. D. Vance blasts mainstream media over coverage of Minneapolis ICE shooting
Welcome, back to the Core here on American Family Radio. Glad to have you with us on this edition of the program. Chris Woodward's back with us as he is on each Friday edition. Chris, welcome back.
>> Chris Woodward: Thank you very much.
>> Walker Wildmon: Well, Chris, the vice President came out yesterday to the podium with Caroline Lovett.
>> Chris Woodward: Yes.
>> Walker Wildmon: And just brought the media a, a new one. And he, I've already played the clip of him announcing the associate or the Assistant Attorney General, a new Assistant AG position rather, that is solely devoted to prosecuting fraud cases with these welfare programs. But you, brought in another clip, where he's probably, if I could guess, talking about CNN and the dishonesty and how they're covering this, federal, officer involved shooting in Minneapolis.
>> Chris Woodward: Yes. CNN was one of the news outlets that he mentioned by name. and for people that didn't hear it or see it played out on television, the, Vice President of the United States pretty much chastised mainstream media for their coverage of the ice involved shooting, saying that the ICE officer was acting inappropriately, the shooting was not justified. They ran wild with all the claims and Criticisms from the AOCs and Tim Walls of the world. And then the Vice President, he just had enough. And we'll play the clip. What is.
>> JD Vance: I'm sorry, guys, what's going on here? You guys are meant to report the truth. How have you let yourself become agents of propaganda of a radical fringe that's making it harder for us to enforce our laws? You just asked me a question that presumed that the reason why this woman died is because she was engaged in legitimate Protestants. She tried to run somebody over with her car, and the guy defended himself when that happened.
>> Walker Wildmon: There you have it, Chris. This is, this is. I don't think I understand. We're a divided country. Yes. And some say 50. 50. I'm not quite buying that. it's probably 60, 40 or 70, 30. and I get there's people that don't like Trump, but that doesn't mean they love Gavin Newsom or they love Kamala Harris. They just don't like Trump because of his tweets and his personality or, ah, they wish he was more presidential. whatever that means, depending on the day of the week. I guess more, more cordial, informal and, you know, respectable. Right. so but this, this, we've pretty much got, Chris, about 30% of the country causing this much trouble because these rioters and looters that are harassing these ICE agents, these are radical Democrats. And then you got the media that control the narrative, which thankfully we're creating what I call the new media, which is what your afrs exist to be. but there's still a lot of networks out there that are continuing to belittle ice, demean ice and frame this as this woman was the victim when she wasn't. She was violating federal law, impeding on a, on an active investigation and an active operation, and failed to follow lawful orders. That's what happened. Then she tried to drive into the ICE officer and he protected himself. And so. But this rhetoric, Chris, I guess my point is, is that you've got very fringe elements of our country. This isn't like you've got 100,000 people on the streets. You've got very fringe elements of our country that are seeding massive amounts of chaos.
>> Chris Woodward: Oh, yeah. And you know, the media, even before this, even before Trump was reelected and, reentered office, the mainstream media pretty much has acted like the press wing of the Democratic Party. and they see this as being an issue they can, massage information with and try to sympathize Democratic causes. Going into a midterm election period in which many people running for office in the House and Senate are saying things like, we have to abolish ice, we have to restore sanity. We're going to defund this, we're going to push money towards that. And this is a way that they can do it because they've done it with so many other causes and for so many other candidates and states in the past.
>> Walker Wildmon: Yeah, that's right. This is, I described it last segment, Chris, is like the dismantling of the Democrat infrastructure. I mean, you go after the non governmental organizations, you target the non profits, and you target the welfare fraud. Then I'm not sure what the Democrats have left because this fuels their operation.
>> Chris Woodward: Sure.
>> Walker Wildmon: I mean, Mark Zuckerberg set up all these shadow nonprofits to run and get out the vote in 2020. And that's how they won, along with other shenanigans. but that was a major difference. And so, this is just. And so everybody who gave to that Zuckerberg was getting tax deductions by running get out the vote for Biden and Kamala Harris. I mean, just think about that. It's just crazy to think about. but if you and I, like, say anything favorable about a candidate, then the IRS is knocking on our door, you know, talking about how we're violating the Johnson Amendment. but here you got Zuckerberg, poorly enforced, doing ballot harvesting for the Democrats.
>> Chris Woodward: Yeah.
President Trump urged House Republicans to be flexible on the Hyde Amendment
>> Walker Wildmon: Chris, let's talk about the life issues because, a large element of the Republican Party is pro life. The vast majority are people who believe that life is sacred and that life should be protected At all stages, including in the womb. And, President Trump, signaled a little bit of softening on this over the week.
>> Chris Woodward: Yes, and it's very head scratching, because President Trump is arguably the most pro life president we've ever had in these United States of America. And that's why it was puzzling this week when he went to the House GOP retreat. As if they need a retreat. Right. But he went to the House GOP retreat and he talked to them about a number of things, including this health care deal. Remember the Democrats, they shut down the government because they wanted more money for things like Obamacare subsidies. Republicans said, vote to reopen government. We'll try to hash out something about health care. And so now we're getting into that season, in which they're trying to do something with healthcare. And in his speech to House Republicans this week, the President urged them or recommended that they be flexible, as he said, on the Hyde Amendment. Now, for those not aware, the Hyde Amendment is a legislative provision that has to be in pretty much anything ever passed by the House and Senate, because it defunds or prevents federal funding from going towards abortions. It's been around for 50 years, longer than I've been on this earth, and it always has to be in bills. And it was very weird this week when the President told them to be flexible. And don't take my word for it. Here now is going to be some audio from the President, followed by reaction from Students for Life and National Right to Life.
>> President Trump: You have to be a little flexible on Hyde. You know that? You got to be a little flexible. You got to work something. You got to use ingenuity. You got to work. President Trump is mistaken if he believes that the pro life movement's gonna be like, oh, sure, yeah, don't apply Hyde to Obamacare reform. No, absolutely not. Non starter. Any health care bill that is passed out of Congress that does not have Hyde attached to it is a pro abortion vote.
>> Pro Life Activist: People should be contacting their members of Congress, telling them, encouraging them to stand firm, that our tax dollars are not to be used to pay for abortion.
>> Chris Woodward: You know, I was, talking about this as well with, students or not Students for Life, but Susan B. Anthony, Pro Life America.
>> Walker Wildmon: Yeah.
>> Chris Woodward: And their comms director, Kelsey Pritchard, told me that pro lifers are part of the reason why President Trump is in office. Again. Kelsey told me this. I don't have the audio, but she told me, quote, if 1 to 2% of the Pro life voters did not show up in the 2024 election, we'd have a President Kamala Harris today.
>> Walker Wildmon: That's how big. That's a fact.
>> Chris Woodward: Yes.
>> Walker Wildmon: Yeah, that's a fact. And if JD Vance or Marco Rubio want the position in 2028, they're gonna need the same.
>> Chris Woodward: Sure will.
>> Walker Wildmon: yeah, this is quite baffling, Chris. And, you know, I'm not gonna act as if President Trump has been the most conservative candidate, you know, since who knows when. But, but he has been pretty good on the issue. I mean, he's. He's been very weak on the same sex, the LGBTQ garbage. Same, sex, fake marriage. but. And so that. There's kind of not much expectation there. he's been good on the transgender issue, on getting the. The dudes out of the women's sports. and the life issue. He's been pretty good. I mean, he gave us the overturning of Roe v. Wade through his Supreme Court justices. But I don't know why, Chris, when you're not even running for reelection, why would you even start waffling on this? I mean, it doesn't even make sense. Yeah, why you would go weak on the life issue when you're in your last term. It's not like you're taking. Trying to, like, appease the moderates for reelection.
>> Chris Woodward: It really is a head scratcher. the only thing I can think of is he's wanting to make sure that they win, in the midterms and keep their majority. Because it's safe to say if Democrats win the House, they're going to vote. They're going to vote to impeach him before Easter next year. It's a given.
>> Walker Wildmon: You know, I don't. I understand people view this differently. Obviously, the correct viewpoint and the Christian viewpoint is that, you know, abortion is, Is. Is wrong. It shouldn't be permitted. It's morally and legally wrong. It shouldn't be permitted under any circumstance. And I can go through the spiel about the life of the mother and all those straw man arguments. but nonetheless, Chris, this. the differences between the two parties are so stark. I'm not sure you're winning over any moderate votes on this. I just don't. I think this is way overrated. I do what I say about that when I say this is way overrated. I'm not talking about the life issue. I'm talking about the Republican strategist that get in the ear of President Trump and others and tell them that you've got to go weak on the life issue so you can win over some voters Right. In the general election. I think that the chasm between the two parties is so wide that going soft or strong on the life issue is not going to change the mind of your middle ground voters, your moderate to liberal voters. M. I think there's so many other issues, such as our country cratering into communism and socialism, or being overrun by foreign invaders, or overdose deaths or the economy tanking. There's so many other issues that are so compelling and so broadly appealing that I'm just not sure this is as big of a deal as these pollsters are making.
>> Chris Woodward: Yeah, we've talked about it before, and, probably, if the Lord tarries won't be the last time I say this. Republicans run not to lose, Democrats run to win. And for some reason, whether even with Donald Trump, there's people in his ear saying, you got to do this, you should do that, because we have to win. These people. We might not. Whatever. A Democrat is not going to enter office and then recommend Democrats abolish the Department of Education or give up the EPA and hand the issue of environmental management back to the states. They're never going to do that. So why should you do things to try to please their people? And unfortunately, many presidents, not even in recent years, but they enter office and they all of a sudden fall into this.
Chris: I think President Trump needs to correct this on life issue
Well, I'm everybody's president. No, you're the president of the. You are the President of the United States. But the people that you should be working to serve first are those who are the ones that put you in office.
>> Walker Wildmon: Right. Because they elected you with a mandate.
>> Chris Woodward: Yeah.
>> Walker Wildmon: And the majority chose the direction.
>> Chris Woodward: I blame this work aids. I really do. I blame the aids that are being told something by upholstery they had dinner with.
>> Walker Wildmon: Yeah, I agree. Yeah. I think President Trump trying to play mushy metal, just doesn't work. That's not his style. It doesn't work. And that's not why he got elected. So I think he needs to correct this, and we have to stay strong on the life issue. And this isn't just a political issue, folks. This is a moral issue of life and death for the baby. And that also is. It should be the most important driver here, Chris. the economy.
The trade deficit dropped sharply in October as imports dropped under President Trump
by the way, you've got this story on the trade deficit.
>> Chris Woodward: Yes.
>> Walker Wildmon: President Trump has cut this trade deficit over in half, like 60%. He's cut the trade deficit by 60% in 12 months.
>> Chris Woodward: Yeah. And kudos to Bobby for bringing me this information earlier today. I think he has a, part time job in the newsroom if he wants it. But the trade deficit dropped sharply in October, reaching its lowest level since 2009, as imports dropped under President Trump, sweeping tariffs, according to new government data. This is October data because of the government shutdown. here's where it gets really interesting. The overall trade gap plunged 39% to 29.4 billion in October.
>> Walker Wildmon: just for the month.
>> Chris Woodward: Right. they thought it was going to be a whole lot more. So it's even better news than what we thought we were going to see. And for all the doom and gloom, the economy is going to fall apart. Trump's the worst person ever. Again, more evidence that none of that is true.
>> Walker Wildmon: Yeah, I agree, Chris. This is, this is. You talk about defying the odds. So President Trump has cut the trade deficit in half. He's set to bring in several hundred billion in tariff revenue, which I think, by the way, the White House needs to be very careful how they spend this excess money in the Treasury. President Trump wants to increase the defense budget to 1.5 trillion. I think that's a bad idea. there went all of our tariff revenue. Right. I, thought we were getting dividend payments, but nonetheless, this is quite amazing what they've done here. They've cut the trade deficit by 60% over the course of 12 months, which is quite insane to think about. And Chris, the inflation is still tanking. GDP is up. Atlanta Fed just came out this morning, said GDP was At about 5.4% for Q4. That's the revised number, 5.4%, according once again to Atlanta Fed. and you've got inflation going back to 2% or below. Right. Which is defying every economist, even the conservative commentators, of which some of them I've had on this program that said the tariffs are going to make inflation spike. Yeah, we were. He still has some of the, most of the tariffs still in place, At least the 10% baseline tariff. And you're about to have inflation go down below 2%.
>> Chris Woodward: Yeah. To straighten out the commentators on TV doing the doom and gloom stuff, maybe we need to send Vance over to their house and have him give them talking to like he did the media. Other positive headlines this week that the ADP number was very good as quote US labor market shows signs of stabilizing. That's according to Yahoo Finance. and you've got oil or gas things are working very well in President Trump's favor as we enter and I can't believe I'm even saying this primary season for the midterm elections if Republicans hold Trump true and stand firm on things like the Hyde amendment they will get voters.
>> Walker Wildmon: Yeah this this inflation by the way Trueflation is a, is an outfit I follow. They're an independent macroeconomic signal provider and indexer. They aggregate like 35 plus million data points. They're showing Chris, inflation dropping below 2%. That would be the first time 1.9 CPI's.
>> Chris Woodward: I'm buying name brand food products folks.
