Spiritual Warfare and Standing Firm in Christ Through AFR's Ministry and Listener Support

It is, and we thank God for that. He has. It's true, really. We look at all the issues that's going on that's difficult and hard in our country and the world. And I just want to tell You. The bottom line is spiritual warfare. It is. It is. This is what's taking place. And afr. We're wanting to be. And we are on the front lines trying to do two things. Share the truth of Jesus Christ and stand firm on what God tells us to stand on in the word of God. That's why exploring the Word is so important, Alex.
Well, amen. Amen. Let me read this scripture again. Really kind of our theme scriptures. First Corinthians 16, 13 and 14 says, watch, stand fast in the faith. Be brave, be strong. Let all that you do be done with love. talk about standing firm and steadfast. I want to go back even to First Corinthians 15:58. One of my favorite verses. Oh, my goodness. First Corinthians 15 deals with the resurrection. And so many, so many of Paul's writings, they deal with themes like 1 Corinthians 13 deals with love. But after talking about the resurrection, the guaranteed Christ has risen. Verse 58 says, Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the lord. And then 16, like we said, standing firm, standing fast. So, folks, you can do that, and you can help others do that. The Principle of Not Outgiving God and the Importance of Timely Obedience in Generosity
And I learned early on that you cannot outgive God. I also learned this. I'm just going to be very. From my heart. The time to give and to follow the promptings of the Holy Spirit is very often when you think, I'll do it later or I can't afford it. No, you, Adrian Rogers said, delayed obedience is disobedience. So I think the Holy Spirit is telling people to give. And the number is 877-616-2396. When I was in seminary, for just a second, I thought, well, wait a minute. I'm serving God and I'm preparing for a life of ministry, and I'm going to seminary. should I be tithing? And of course, very quickly, Spirit of God said, absolutely. And I could tell you so many stories. And Bert, I'll throw it to you. Stories where I had not enough money. And I thought, lord, I need your help here. Here's my point. It is way better to be mindful that it all belongs to God anyway. We don't own anything. 8, 7, 7, 6, 1, 6, 2, 3, 9, 6. Bert, I've got the privilege of doing a lot of traveling. I was in Indiana. Oh, I don't know. I'm going to say two months ago, and a young man came up. Young adult, married, got kids, in church, building a Christian family. He said, Mr. McFarland, you don't know me. But he said, When I was coming home from junior high, in the backseat of my par, I listened to you and Bert. And he said, I used to, you know, I would listen. And all through my teenage years, he said, at the time, I didn't realize how significant. But he said, now that I'm married and we're raising a family of our own, I realize how important all that is. And he said, we're AFR listeners. And, Bert and I have been doing exploring the word now 16 years plus. So I meet virtually every weekend of the year, no matter where I am. Young adults come up and they'll say, Mr. M. McFarland, we've been listening to you and Brother Byrd all these years.

As I think about Myers m role here at AFA as a board member and then, a staff member and a part of the leadership, I've seen a lot of changes, but one thing has always remained the same and that is our mission. The mission here at AFA is one that's of vital importance, especially as I think about the turmoil that our nation is facing facing today. I think about this pleading prayer from Psalm 85, 6, which says, Will you not revive us again that your people may rejoice in you? You know, the problems we're facing today are just too large for human understanding. It seems like culturally we're becoming more and more secular and we just need God to intervention in our nation today more than ever before. I don't know about you, but I just feel helpless in this battle. I know we all want to be involved politically and do our part to be salt and light, but we know that, only God can save our nation. Thankfully, though, history has recorded periods of obedience when God's people have awakened and allowed his spirit to, take control. When we get serious, history has recorded that God gets serious on several occasions.
Hope for National Revival Through God's Spirit and the Call to Prayer and Action
God has poured out his spirit and entire cities have turned to Him. I think about the moral impact of the first great awakening in this country back in 1734. And it's often accredited with laying the foundation for the formation of our system of government after the American Revolution. As I think about the Second Great Awakening in 1790, when the power of God fell from heaven, believers lay prostrate before the Lord in repentance and, and society was transformed, spilled out of the church into the world. You know, the stresses and woes of our nation today are comparable to critical times in our nation in the past. And I just believe it could happen again. We've seen him save our country in the past and I urge us, in this false Huron, to call on God to do it again. We just need a new work of God for a new generation so the world may know there is indeed a God who lives and who empowers and who changes the destiny of those who call on Him.

It is, and we thank God for that. He has. It's true, really. We look at all the issues that's going on that's difficult and hard in our country and the world. And I just want to tell You. The bottom line is spiritual warfare. It is. It is. This is what's taking place. And afr. We're wanting to be. And we are on the front lines trying to do two things. Share the truth of Jesus Christ and stand firm on what God tells us to stand on in the word of God. That's why exploring the Word is so important, Alex.

First Corinthians 15 deals with the resurrection. And so many, so many of Paul's writings, they deal with themes like 1 Corinthians 13 deals with love. But after talking about the resurrection, the guaranteed Christ has risen. Verse 58 says, Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the lord. And then 16, like we said, standing firm, standing fast. So, folks, you can do that, and you can help others do that. The Principle of Not Outgiving God and the Importance of Timely Obedience in Generosity
And I learned early on that you cannot outgive God. I also learned this. I'm just going to be very. From my heart. The time to give and to follow the promptings of the Holy Spirit is very often when you think, I'll do it later or I can't afford it. No, you, Adrian Rogers said, delayed obedience is disobedience. As I think about Myers m role here at AFA as a board member and then, a staff member and a part of the leadership, I've seen a lot of changes, but one thing has always remained the same and that is our mission. The mission here at AFA is one that's of vital importance, especially as I think about the turmoil that our nation is facing facing today. I think about this pleading prayer from Psalm 85, 6, which says, Will you not revive us again that your people may rejoice in you? You know, the problems we're facing today are just too large for human understanding. It seems like culturally we're becoming more and more secular and we just need God to intervention in our nation today more than ever before. I don't know about you, but I just feel helpless in this battle. I know we all want to be involved politically and do our part to be salt and light, but we know that, only God can save our nation. Thankfully, though, history has recorded periods of obedience when God's people have awakened and allowed his spirit to, take control. When we get serious, history has recorded that God gets serious on several occasions.
Hope for National Revival Through God's Spirit and the Call to Prayer and Action
God has poured out his spirit and entire cities have turned to Him. I think about the moral impact of the first great awakening in this country back in 1734. And it's often accredited with laying the foundation for the formation of our system of government after the American Revolution. As I think about the Second Great Awakening in 1790, when the power of God fell from heaven, believers lay prostrate before the Lord in repentance and, and society was transformed, spilled out of the church into the world. You know, the stresses and woes of our nation today are comparable to critical times in our nation in the past. And I just believe it could happen again. We've seen him save our country in the past and I urge us, in this false Huron, to call on God to do it again. We just need a new work of God for a new generation so the world may know there is indeed a God who lives and who empowers and who changes the destiny of those who call on Him.

The True Meaning of Salvation: Trusting in Jesus Christ for Forgiveness and a New Life
We want to tell you just because you give doesn't mean you're saved. Just because you listen doesn't make you right with God. And so we're telling you Jesus Christ loves you so much that he went to the cross. He paid the penalty for our sin. He overcame our greatest enemy, sin and death. At his resurrection, he ascended to the Father to make intercession for those that would put their faith in him and say, God, I turn away from my sin. I turn to you. I ask you to forgive me because I know you overcame sin and death. Come into my life. Be lord of my life as I serve you. If you've never done that, make that. That's more important than making that phone call. It's more important than what you ever could do. Trust Jesus Christ as savior. And, Alex, before we go, guess what we want to do?

You remember when I started that? It was. We had 30, close to 35 minutes left, and we said we would just need 100 calls to increase it to 393.
Right.

Praise God.
