Jenna Ellis: I love talking about the things of God. Because of truth and the biblical worldview. The U.S. constitution obligates our government to preserve and protect the rights that our founders recognize come from God our creator, not our government.
Jenna Ellis Discusses The Democrats, Ilhan Omar, And James Talarico's Bizarre Absence From The Campaign Trail
I believe that scripture in the Bible is very clear that God is the one that raised up each of you. And God has allowed us to be brought here to this specific moment in time. This is Jenna Ellis in the Morning.
Jenna Ellis: Good morning. It is Tuesday, October 13, and a lot going on, with the Democrats, this close to midterms. So Ilhan Omar, was raided yesterday in the midst of this investigation. We'll get to that, in a little bit. But first, James Talarico out of Texas has finally resurfaced after a really bizarre absence from the campaign trail. There have been a lot of rumors, speculation, what has been going on, a lot of, unverified things on social media. but he says now in an interview with NBC's, ah, Dallas Fort Worth, that he just had the flu. And he shoots down conservative speculation about his absence from the trail. So he, he said to the, Dallas Fort Worth in an interview, I was in bed drinking lots of flu fluids. Unfortunately, the campaign made me work from home, so I didn't even get full days off. But I didn't want to be out on the trail and I didn't want to get anyone else sick. It's important, I think, for leaders to be responsible in these moments.
Discussion On James Talarico's Absence, Handling Of The Flu, And The Double Standards In Media Coverage
And I'm glad to be back. I'm feeling much better. yeah. Kind of weird because even when I have the flu, you know, and you're sitting in bed, if you're actually working, you can still post on social media. You can still maybe say that ahead of time, to, to dispel, you know, a lot of these rumors which were, you know, for anywhere from he had a total, you know, emotional breakdown to, you know, he was in a mental, facility. There was a rumor circulating on social media about, going to a treatment center in Ohio. He's now addressed that claim as well. An X quote posting the Linder, Center Hope, who said, representative James Talarico has never received treatment from the Lidner center of Hope. And he, quote, posted that and said, I've never even been to Ohio with a laughing face emoji. So, I mean, he still knows how to post on social media. So the whole thing is just a little bit bizarre. So, let's talk about it with Krish Ekstrom, who is a board member of US Term Limits and, out of Texas. Krish, what do you make of. Of all of this? And, you know, at best, Talarico's campaign really didn't handle this well. And, you know, if he gets elected out of Texas, I'm. I'm a little concerned that, you know, he'll just randomly disappear for a couple of weeks in the midst of really critical votes.
Chris Ekstrom: Well, good morning, Jenna. actually, disappearing has become a normal thing, if you want to call it normal for Democrats. You can see it in, these particularly urban, environments where a police chief in Dallas, just disappeared, and it ended up that she was in some sort of mental health crisis. you see it all the time now. And I think it really speaks to their vision of what actual leadership is. You have the statement that he issues, which sounds responsible and commonsensical, and then you have the real actions that these people take. But you know what? I follow this stuff closely, and a lot of our listeners here, they follow it, but they don't. They're not on x, you know, 24. 7. And that's a good thing for them. But the thing is, here we have common sense. Do you want a guy who, when he has a flu, disappears for 12 days in the middle of the most important thing he's ever done by a long shot in his life? If Ken Paxton isn't responding instantly to the. To the national press about any single thing that he does, the entire press runs with it. The press was silent about Talarico. So take it. Take it for what you will, but, I just see this as another in the long list of weird, disturbing things about this candidate.
Assessing James Talarico's Disappearance And The Media's Pass, Comparing To Donald Trump's Media Treatment
Jenna Ellis: Yeah. And that's a really fair assessment, because regardless of whether he actually had the flu or not, whatever the reason, what we do know is that he just completely disappeared without talking about it. The mainstream media gave him a pass for it. Nobody is on, the Democrat leadership side saying, you know, well, wait a minute. Is, does this bode well for. For his character, for his, potential response? And in the midst of, of, of the job of the US Senate, which is, I'm sure, very highly stressful. I mean, imagine if Donald Trump just disappeared for two weeks and we don't know where the President is. People would be calling for the 25th Amendment, people would be saying, you know, all wild speculation. And yet when it comes to a candidate that they prefer, the media treats it so differently. And so, so, we do have, I think, a responsibility to say that these kinds of things, I mean, everybody gets sick. That's not the point. if that's accurate. The point is how he handled a two week absence and then he just randomly shows up. Even before social media, he just randomly shows up at a country concert like in the front row, cheering as if absolutely nothing happened. I mean it's, it's just so bizarre that you have to ask why the Democrat leadership isn't more concerned that people in Texas are going to look at this and any common sense, rational person would be like, yeah, I don't really want a guy to represent me if he just randomly disappears in the middle of the last four weeks of a really, according to the polls, tight race campaign.
Chris Ekstrom: Well, Jenna, you know, let's face it, they did this nationally for president. I mean, Joe Biden essentially disappeared for long junctures in his presidency where he didn't take any questions and was with a media that's actually friendly towards him. He was unwilling to take questions. Meanwhile, Donald Trump gets reelected and he sits in the office at the Oval office giving him 30 minutes to throw anything at him that they, that they want. I mean, the double standard here is so extreme that it screams out to our voters, boy, you better get out there and vote. You better use some common sense and vote. Because I am thrilled to talk to Christians today. There's people that are disaffected in Texas to some degree with, with Ken Paxton. Now the last time I checked, it was about 50% divorce rates across the board in this country.
Discussion On Divorce Rates, Ken Paxton, And The Importance Of Voting For Republican Candidates
So, this may be a situation where people need to look around at their church and take a headcount of divorces. Ken has won. I knew a lot of people in Texas who, were good Christians in my estimation, as much as I can tell. and they've been divorced two and three times. So let's start to get with. There's biblical truth and there's political truth. And here's the political truth. Talarico is unfit. He wants to trans children, little kids below 18. He's totally pro abortion, he hates guns and probably would take them away. The first thing he did, if he had the power, and he's essentially an extreme radical in just about every dimension that you can think of. In fact he's outspokenly so as a so called Christian. If anybody here has been paying attention, they should go listen to some of the things the people who preside over his so called church have to say about Christ. If, if, if they're even talking about Christ. I'm not sure what God they, they worship. But people need to call their friends in Texas. People who are in Texas need to get out and vote and we need to stop this nonsense that somehow Ken Paxton is this horrible, terrible exception to the rule. He is not. And it is your duty who I'm speaking to right now, to get out and vote.
Jenna Ellis: Yeah, absolutely.
Democrats Setting Higher Standards For Christians And The Need To Vote Our Values
Well said. And you know, it's always fascinating to me how the Democrats often successfully will put on Christians and on the right a higher standard, than they hold themselves to. And it's like they're telling us what they think our Christian faith requires. And it's not up to them, it's up to us to say, okay, how do we best vote our values? How best do we look at imperfect candidates? Because there's always going to be things that you don't like about everyone. Even, even some candidates, you may not even like all of their policy. But if you look at the record, I mean these, this campaign in Texas really exemplifies what I think is going on nationally. If we can boil it down to just the one race here in the ideology, the worldview, and the two just completely different views of reality between what a James Tall Rico would bring to the U.S. senate and to national politics compared to what Ken Paxton's record in Texas has been. And there's just absolutely no comparison. And so for the left to suggest that it's somehow hypocritical for conservatives and you know, you have to look at all of the, this personal, quote unquote baggage of Paxton. I'm tired of Democrats telling me how to exercise my vote and my Christian faith and what God requires of me. I mean they're telling me what the God they don't believe in requires of me. That's how absurd this is.
Chris Ekstrom: It's absurd. And I'm, I'm, what disturbs me is people on our own side. I mean 2012 I went out and not only voted for Mitt Romney, who I just to be kind disdained, but I organized in Florida where we got close to winning a battleground state. But there was a lot of Christians out there saying, well, he's a Mormon and he's a, you know. And what did we get? We got a second term of Obama, which was probably the darkest period in my lifetime for America, from 2012 to 2016.
Consequences Of Not Voting And The Importance Of Voting For Republicans In Texas Elections
Basically we got Al Sharpton going into the White House 80 times and bringing back racism. That was the net result you got there, which was to try to turn black people into basically feeling that they were the victims of racism and that they were, they were somehow shut out of the system. That's what we got. Now.
Chris Ekstrom: Stop playing games in Texas if you're an evangelical with all these nonsense reasons for not voting for Ken Paxton and get out there and vote from the top of the ticket all the way down Republican. There's plenty of Republicans on that ticket I don't like. But if I'm voting this, time especially, I'm voting for Republicans all the way.
Jenna Ellis: Well, and you know, you're so right that it always is a closed universe situation, meaning we don't have unlimited options. You're always going to have a, a lesser of two evil situation because human beings are not inherently good. I mean, there's always going to be some, something you can criticize about either candidate. But you know, your, your reference to the Romney vs. Obama campaign is so spot on because for the people who didn't get out and vote for whatever reason they wanted to say and what they could say now about, you know, regretting voting for Mitt Romney, okay, fine, but did you really want the alternative? Because your vote, if you abstain or if you, if you don't vote for the best part of the ticket, then you're, you are essentially supporting the worst part. And I love what Shawn Davis, who is over at the Federalist, said on X about, ah, Karl Rove and Jon Cornyn, who are two Republicans who are just absolutely not helping in Texas. He said everyone is dragging James Talarika for disappearing for two weeks to get monkeypox treatment. Obviously tongue in cheek here.
Critique Of James Talarico's Campaign And The Absurdity Of Democrats Telling People How To Vote
And he said, but far too people, far too few people are thinking about how hard this whole thing must be for Karl Rove and Jon Cornyn. They must be so sad to watch their gay wonder boys precious little campaign implode. I just thought that was hilarious because it's so true.
Chris Ekstrom: It's got to be hard to be Karl Rove these days. I mean, I don't as much as I disagree, with him and probably don't like him personally. I've never met him before. the guy can't possibly want to support James Tall Rico. I mean, literally. So this is how he really is in his private hell. I have to say right now, Mr. Rove. So, you know, he claims he's only voted for one Democrat in his life. And there's plenty of us who simply don't believe that.
Jenna Ellis: Yeah, well, I'd love to see him draw that on the whiteboard. And you know, he can, he can make some little. Maybe we'll give him some colored, markers that, you know, he can, he can add some red and orange to the flames there on his little whiteboard.
Chris Ekstrom: I think we need to get Jenna. Let's get him a nice box of crayons. Especially if Paxton wins.
Jenna Ellis: There you go. I know, it's all just so ridiculous, but the point is that, you know, we have to look at these elections seriously, soberly, and in the reality, not of the individuals.
The Importance Of Serious Elections, Voting For Candidates Who Will Pass Legislation Like The SAVE Act
I'm so tired of these campaigns that being so personality driven that it's like we are, we're saying that we're championing, you know, everything about the individual person. And we've, Unfortunately, I think that Republicans, especially the era of Trump, has lent to that by talking about loyalty and talking about, you know, all, all of the person, whatever. I mean, these people actually in elected office have a job to do and they're going to vote on serious things. They're going to vote, their values. And if we want to have people in the US Senate who would actually pass the SAVE act, for example, then we've got to elect them in November. So, Krish Ekstrom, really appreciate Amen and, absolutely. So, you know, continue to make your plan to vote, know what is on your ballot, who is on your ballot, the issues as well, and, make sure that you are getting out and voting in the midterms. We only have a couple weeks early voting has already started in a lot of states. We'll be right back with more.
Sponsor Message And Discussion On Ilhan Omar's Home Being Raided By DHS For Immigration Paperwork Investigation

Jenna Ellis: Welcome back. Well, Representative Ilhan Omar's D.C. home was raided by DHS as part of a probe into the Democrats immigration paperwork. this coming from the NewSong York Post. So her home was raided early Monday morning by the Department of Homeland Security as part of an ongoing criminal fraud investigation into the Somalia born congresswoman's immigration paperwork. And so the agents wearing Homeland security investigations or HSI jackets arrived outside of Omar's Washington D.C. home to execute a search warrant and were later observed removing belongings early Monday on that residential street. There's actually some photos that are posted in this article.
Democrats' Hypocritical Response To Ilhan Omar's Raid And The Legitimacy Of The Immigration Paperwork Investigation
And so the raid was was the result of a years long criminal investigation involving whistleblowers and related to alleged false statements made on Omar's immigration papers, according to sources familiar with the case. A DH DOJ spokesperson said today in the Washington D.C. area, Homeland Security Investigations executed a judicially authorized search warrant secured by the Department of Justice, noting the action was part of an ongoing federal investigation. the response to this by the Democrats has been utterly hypocritical, completely with, you know, Hakeem Jeffries and you know, everybody else, including Omar herself, calling this Lawfare. Well, you know, I'm really waiting to see where their statements were when Trump's Mar? A Lago was raided, which actually was Lawfare, was not a part of any legitimate investigation. And yet, you know, they were out there claiming nobody's above the law. And this is an Omar herself said that in a post that's resurfaced from 2023, that if, if the process requires someone to be part of a criminal investigation, then you know, that's absolutely fair game. And yet when it comes to her, and when the Democrats, you know, when it comes to one of their own, of course they call it Lawfare and they suggest that this is just because the administration is unfairly targeting her. Well, let's welcome in Gerard Felitti, who is an attorney at the Lawfare Project. Gerard, great to have you back. And you know this, this is also hypocritical. But before we get to the response from the Democrats, what do you make of the investigation itself?
Gerard Filitti: Well, I think the investigation is considering everything that we have heard about Ilhan Omar's past, none of it proven yet, but all of it questionable, there's a lot of questions to answer about immigration status and more than that about the immigration status she helped secure for other people, including her former husband, whatever the relationship with him. And let's not forget the big scandal with Somalians in Minnesota who we have been investigating for a while with, with the Trump administration. So I think this is a very legitimate inquiry.
Potential Next Steps In Ilhan Omar's Investigation And The House's Constitutional Authority To Expel Members
It'll just be interesting to see if it actually leads anywhere.
Jenna Ellis: Yeah, and so, so where in the last two years, of course, of Trump's term, I mean, and this is what's so frustrating about some of these investigations is, is if a Democrat got elected in 2028, it's likely that, you know, this, this probe would just go nowhere. But assuming that there is enough time, over the next two years, what are the potential next steps?
Gerard Filitti: Well, the real question, though, and we still have to have confirmation from the government, is what this investigation is really about. Because if it is about as has been w false statements allegedly made on immigration paperwork, then I hate to say this, but it may not actually go anywhere. Ilhan Omar came to the US As a minor, and her naturalization status depended on her dad. He's the one who filled out paperwork. He died in 2020. So it's going to be a tough road for the government to try to prove when, as against a dead person, that the statements were false and therefore the derivative citizenship, Ilhan Omar's should be revoked. So if that's what the government is aiming for, it's going to be a very tough, challenge to get that done in two years. But if there's some other aspect of the investigation, that's really what will be interesting.
Jenna Ellis: Yeah, well, then we'll have to see about that, because as of now, we're not exactly certain, what the substance of the criminal investigation is. it's just, we just know that obviously that's ongoing and this raid was part of that. what about the House's constitutional, authority to expel its members? I mean, we've seen that, you know, there have been some of the.
GOP's Opportunity To Act On Ilhan Omar's Allegations And The Urgency Of Potential Expulsion
This action taken in just recent history, you know, with George Santos, who was the subject of an investigation and actually, you know, ended up with, with jail time over, you know, just some campaign finance issues, was expelled, from his seat. and then there, you know, there have been a few other, members that faced, you know, similar expulsion. Where should the GOP look? And, I mean, this is right before midterms. I think personally that it would actually be a great opportunity for the GOP to say, hey, we're serious, by saying, you know, depending on the allegations that come out there, they're seriously looking at, potential expulsion, as they well should be.
Gerard Filitti: If she's not qualified to be in the country, then she's not qualified to be a representative, and that's a very serious matter which the House can absolutely take up on its own. The challenge here being that we only have, less than a month until the election and then the new Congress gets frozen in January. So Republicans would have to act very quickly to launch an investigation, to file a complaint and launch an investigation. And even here, the challenge is that they would more likely than not need to show that she knew that there was something, that she did something wrong, that it was not an innocent mistake that she was unaware of. and again, that is going to be a challenge. But it's absolutely appropriate for them to look at this because if she's not qualified to be sitting in that chamber, then they need to take action. Action like they did against George Santos, like they did against others, to, remove her.
Jenna Ellis: And how quickly is it possible to, to get that done? I mean, you know, we're only talking about a few weeks before the midterms. But, this current Congress is sitting until January. And so, you know, we do have a few months. Is it possible for Speaker Johnson to kind of push through, you know, some of this? Because I think that there have at least been, you know, whether or not this is tied to, you know, some of the specific, allegations that have been in the news for a really long time about Omar. I mean, there, there seems to be plenty that they could, move on if they really wanted to.
Speaker Johnson's Ability To Push Through Investigations And Republicans' Focus On Keeping Seats
Gerard Filitti: I think you're right about that. There's plenty that they could move on. and this is not just about the current raid. This is about a history of her involvement with, with Minnesota politics and immigration. And Congress could very well. Speaker Johnson could very well push through a very quick investigation or inqu. Require even a public hearing, about that. so this is certainly something that can be done. And let's not forget that Ilhan Omar can always bring a lawsuit or claim that she's being targeted with lawfare. and she probably will do that and drag on proceedings for as long as she can. But ultimately Speaker Johnson could get this done very quickly. I think though, that right now the Republicans are more concerned about keeping their seats, in the next three weeks. But we should expect to see some movement on this after the election.
Jenna Ellis: Yeah, I would hope so. And I mean, I'm.
Taking Action On Investigations And The Minimal Requirements For Running For Congress
I would hope that at least with, you know, the majority in the House, that, Republicans are looking to, to take action on a variety of fronts. I mean, not just this, but, I think that overall it would serve them better to take more action and look like they they actually care about governing than not. But you know, when we're talking about the bigger picture here about Omar and about you know, some of these other members of Congress that have had other investigations and so forth. I mean, you know, right now in, at least in the current constitutional structure, there are very, very minimal requirements for someone to run for Congress. That's, that's in general a good thing because we don't want to have so many stringent rules that basically, you know, the elites can tailor it to whatever they prefer so that they can hand select their own candidates, which they kind of do anyway, but we don't want to make it easier for them. But at the same time, should there be maybe even internally to to the House, you know, some of their their rules and so forth. But, but even when it comes to elections and some of the constitutional requirements, we've talked at length, you and I, Gerard, on this program about you know, dual citizens or you know, people who weren't born in this country, potentially being ineligible for federal office, some of those types of requirements. Do you think that there's something that should be added, ah, constitutionally or otherwise to to eliminate the potential for this type of situation where it, it at least appears on face that that. That several, if not many m. Members of Congress have loyalties elsewhere than to the United States and to their own constituencies?
Gerard Filitti: Oh, I certainly wish that we could and that we're easy to do.
Concerns About Dual Citizens, Anti-Democratic Ideals, And The Need For Civics Education
Look at even people who are running for office for Senate. Look at Abdullah Sayed, who we don't know where his loyalties lie in terms of the Muslim Brotherhood. I mean in Egypt that really is a concern, especially these days, that we are having people elected to office who have not just loyalties but ideas and ideals that are anti Democratic and anti American, that they don't want to be in Congress because they want to make America better, want to tear it down and take it apart. I think ultimately though, whatever test you come up with, lawyers will always find a way to wiggle out of it. And Congress doesn't pass thorough and detailed laws anymore. They just pass very general things with exceptions that you could walk a terrorist through. So ultimately I think it comes down to on the one hand, enforcing immigration standards. Because if we have, you know, Islamists or people we don't want in this country coming in and having children naturalized or born here, then that indoctrinates the next generation. But also schools. We need to go back to teaching civics and American values so that we don't have these uneducated anti American people running in the first place. I would love for there to be a law. I just don't feel realistic way to do it.
Jenna Ellis: Yeah, that's so well said. And it's really frustrating and unfortunate that we don't pass detailed laws and that we have to look elsewhere than the legislature to to try to curb, you know, a lot of these problems before they even get to American soil. And obviously immigration is still a big issue.
Democrat Response To Investigations And The Hypocrisy Of Labeling Actions As Lawfare
I wish that that was a focal point, more so in this election as much as it was in 2024. I think that's still one of the most critical issues to to the future of America and ongoing. but let's also talk about the Democrat response to this because it's been so frustrating, especially you know, to, to someone like me who literally was a target of the Democrats own lawfare, right under under Joe Biden and to see all of the vitriol and all of these, these statements from the left saying, you know, well President Trump, you know, nobody is above the law and they treated him actually as if he was below the law just because his name was Trump. But now that Omar is targeted, you have all of these Democrats that are going out suggesting that this is lawfare simply because she's the subject of a criminal investigation. And it's so hypocritical.
Gerard Filitti: It's completely hypocritical. And this is not something that was imagined. There was enough evidence that was presented to a federal judge to sign off on a warrant. And you don't do that lightly when you're a judge, especially for a sitting member of Congress, knowing that all sorts of media outrage is going to rain down on you. So this is absolutely hypocritical of Democrats, especially the same ones who said, you know, let's let the process play out, let's let the investigation go where it leads. When it comes to them, they don't want to hear it. This is the double standard when it comes to targeting Republicans. That's acceptable, that's lawfare, that's the proper use of lawfare. But for them, they don't want it when the microscope is on them, when their actions are being examined, even when it's the same standards. So I think this is the problem that they have so used law against America that they're not used to having it used on them.
Applying Fair Standards To Lawfare Allegations And Distinguishing Between Political And Substantive Investigations
Jenna Ellis: Yeah, absolutely. And so you know, for people who, ah, and that should be all of Us, you know, listening to this program for people who want the standards to be applied fairly and equally, how should we view something like this where, you know, clearly there, there was lawfare against President, ah, Trump, and, you know, we can see that, but the Democrats at the time accused conservatives of just defending our side, and now, you know, we're accusing them of just defending their side. And so what is the best way to look at, at some of these cases and remove kind of the Democrat versus Republican angle and actually be able to parse and understand for ourselves whether or not one isolated, individual event actually is lawfare versus something substantive? Because, I mean, a judge did sign off on, you know, a warrant to go raid Mar A Lago, too. So, you know, somebody could go and say, well, there must have been enough evidence there, when, you know, clearly that ended up, you know, not actually being the case. So how do, how should we look at this instead of just partisan, but through the lens of a, an objective standard?
Gerard Filitti: I think that's such an excellent question and a tough one to answer. It's one that I've had difficulty reconciling myself, to be honest. And I think part of it comes down to looking at what the objective is. When you're looking at investigating something that other people have been prosecuted for, a law that's on the books and clear that people can understand it's an immigration statute that someone didn't do something correctly, or a criminal statute where it's clear what the crime actually is, then I think we give more leeway to that type of investigation and prosecution. But when you're looking at it from the sense of there was a decision made by someone, for example, President Trump, in challenging an election that could have easily been a political one and not a legal one, then you start to question whether the prosecution is valid at all, or when the highest authority in the land says that he declassified documents but someone is challenging that assertion, then you have to wonder about the validity of that. So I think it really comes down to looking carefully at the facts and what's being alleged, which is why it's so important to have transparency in, these investigations. We want to know what the government is looking for, what charges they're looking to bring, what law they say was violated, and then we can kind of use the smell test on if it makes sense or whether there looks to be like it's punishing someone or whether it looks like it's persecuting someone.
Jenna Ellis: Yeah, and I think that's a Great response.
Objective Rules For Investigations And The Distinction Between Lawfare And Legitimate Prosecution
And you know, really the only way, to look at this is to say, you know, is this something where, even like with George Santos, you know, the the allegations of campaign finance and you. Something that is is an objective role. It's not that somebody was targeting him for a vote that he took, for example, or, you know, something that was a political partisan decision. It's something that, you know, that everyone is expected to abide by. It's, it's a general rule, just like immigration paperwork here for Omar rather than, you know, how President Trump, was targeted, of course, for political decisions that he made. So I think that is a really good, at least basic, objective rule. But let's turn Jared Felitti to one other topic here that I'd love to get your commentary on. So, so speaking of not being hypocritical. Ah, Republicans, even in the Trump admin administration are are potentially going after one of their own. So Kimberly Guilfoyle, who is the current, administration's ambassador to Greece, faces potential Senate probe over a bombshell $100,000 allegation.
Kimberly Guilfoyle Faces Probe Over $100,000 Debt Allegation And Potential Tax Issues
And so, this arises, that she, it's alleged, following a Wallnua Street Journal report, that before she was confirmed as ambassador to Greece, she pushed a top donor to President Trump to clear a $100,000 debt on her personal credit card. So, in, in this context, what makes that concerning, that she would ask someone to clear her personal debt ahead of her confirmation?
Gerard Filitti: Well, I'll tell you what makes it concerning for me, which I think is a little bit different than what the media is looking at. The media is looking at whether this was some kind of, bribery or whether it was some kind of improper services for money that was re. which would make her subjective to penalty for failing to disclose or reason for bribery. The issue for me though is that you can be. She was not yet confirmed she was in business to make arrangements for people essentially, not quite a lobbyist, but she was perfectly entitled to be working with donors and receiving compensation for that. The flag that I see is a tax issue. If you're asking for someone to pay your credit card bill, you're possibly doing that because you want to avoid declaring that as income and having that just as a debt that's settled. That would be an IRS problem. So I do see issues here, but in the way she structured the transaction rather than the fact that she was paid for, you know, whether it was speaking fees or whether it was, arranging meetings, with donors that's perfectly legal, and she did so before she was confirmed. So my, my issue here would be taxes.
Jenna Ellis: So the fact that, I mean, because reports have, have, have suggested that she asked this donor to pay the credit card, directly so that there wasn't a paper trail. And that paper trail, rather than, you know, going to the, to maybe a bribery or just the fact that it was paid in general, what you're suggesting is that then, because that would avoid, paying taxes on that payment. And so, so that's, that's more of the issue. And, the concern would be, of course, that she's, that she's hiding all of this. And so what could a potential Senate probe, be targeting and uncovering? Because reports, are also suggesting that, Trump and Rubio are taking this very serious and actually looking, at removing her as ambassador in, you know, this coming week. we'll see. I mean, that's just a report, that has been going around in the news, but, you know, this is even from Fox news as of 46 minutes ago, the headline is Trump looking at firing ambassador to Greece, quote, unquote. We're not happy.
Gerard Filitti: Well, I think the broader investigation is going to be into pattern or of conduct. And there have certainly been stories in the last year about, how she has been intertwined with high society while ambassador in Greece, which does raise questions about finances, which does raise questions about influence. So I think this is really what opens the door to those inquiries. And that's probably why the Trump administration is not happy. They don't want this kind of publicity. They don't want an ambassador who is supposed to be above reproach being questioned about her ethics. so ultimately, I think this is where the investigation is going to go. I, I personally don't think she's going to last as ambassador. but I think that this is certainly want to let the process play out, especially if there's any allegation of criminal wrongdoing.
Potential Criminal Liability For Kimberly Guilfoyle And Allegations Of Seeking Access To Officials
Jenna Ellis: Yeah, and that's, that was actually my next question. is it possible that she could face a criminal liability over this? the donor, his name is Rick Deters, apparently said that he never made the payment. So apparently just her request is what's at issue here. Ah, not actually a completed transaction. do you think that just based on what we know right now there is a potential for criminal liability?
Gerard Filitti: Yes, but not for the transaction that wasn't made. He also, Dieters also said that he paid her over, the past several years a number of several, hundred thousand dollars in fees. So what the investigation will look at was whether that money was declared and whether there were any special favors or access given for that money that she otherwise did not, was not able to provide. So ultimately, it's a broader question about past payments, and that's where it really opens the door to her wider pattern of conduct. So, yes, I think she does potentially face criminal liability here, not for the 100,000, but for other monies that she may have received.
Jenna Ellis: Yeah. And you mentioned as well, the offering to help gain access to top administration officials in exchange and, even without being confirmed as ambassador, even for a private citizen, that, can be ethically and criminally, questionable as well. I mean, there have been allegations of at least one other Trump official, that I'm aware of, in media that has been, alleged at least to be, suggesting that he can, have access to or give, access to certain, Trump officials and some other things. And obviously there are ethics questions and criminal questions, for any of that sort of activity.
Trump Administration Taking Allegations Seriously And The Importance Of The Rule Of Law
And so we'll see how, all of this goes. but this is one of those instances where, Gerard, I think this is, healthy and it's a good thing that President Trump and Marco Rubio are looking at this very seriously. And they're not just kind of knee jerk reacting, defending their own ambassador. They're taking this seriously. And, if this were a Democrat, you know, I don't know that we could expect that type of candor and that and all of that. So I think this is actually a really good example.
Gerard Filitti: Hunter Biden, we saw that, we saw this just a few years ago when there were allegations of access into influence. The Democrats don't do it. So it's very healthy that the Trump administration is taking this seriously. It shows you which party is actually caring to enforce the rules and the laws and which one ignores the.
Jenna Ellis: Yeah, absolutely. Well, we've got to take a break here, but Gerard Felitti, really appreciate your comments on, both of these two stories. And you know, it's so important, that we make sure that as conservatives, we are always interested in the rule of law. We're interested in, ensuring that everyone is, you know, not above the law, but no one is below the law either. I mean, no one should be on unfairly targeted, but no one should be above the law just because they happen to be on our side or because, you know, they happen to be on the opposition. And so if we Genuinely, care about and respect the rule of law, which we should, then the rules should apply equally to everyone, not just because of party or, or not just because of, you know, some, you know, other elitist status or you know, whatever that individual, you know, we may want them to be targeted or not. So always appreciate your analysis and commentary and we will be right back with more.

The Story Of Stanley The German Shepherd And The Importance Of Caring For God's Creation
the morning on American Family Radio.
Jenna Ellis: Welcome back. Well, for those of you who are listening to the program on Friday or you follow me on social media, you, heard on Friday about Stanley who is the three year old, ah, just cutie pie, German shepherd who was set to be euthanized, only 11 days ago on October 2nd at a shelter in California just because nobody came for him, which is utterly tragic. And I wish that all of, the laws in all of the states would protect animals, from being euthanized for literally no, no reason, just because shelters are overcrowded. M. There are six states now, that require that shelters are no kill. And I hope that that legislation expands into the other states. And I think it's important that in the midst of, you know, all of the other important legislation, everything going on, that we also take time to have care and compassion and steward wisely God's creation, which includes his animals. So we talked about that on Friday And I had mentioned that when I saw Stanley, just in my algorithm, it popped up. I wasn't even, following this, this really, ah, you know, wonderful person out in California, ah, Kelly G. Who now I am following and have connected with on social media. I saw her post about Stanley and it just really, pricked my heart. Because so often we see things on social media. We see, you know, there are so many ways that we can get involved in all kinds of different causes and action. And you know, there's so many things that even here at afr, daily our radio programs and our hosts ask you to engage in. Obviously, the, the paramount issues, of course, are, being good stewards of the government that God has given us, being part of civil society, being part of a local church, getting involved in your church. And then of course, the most important thing is being involved in your own family and stewarding your, marriage, your children, your parents, your grandparents, your relationships, your brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles, all of that, your family, wisely and with the, the framework that God has given us in Scripture. So there are, I completely acknowledge, there are so many ways that everyone asks us to get engaged and get involved. And it can seem overwhelming, but we need to also, instead of just scrolling by everything and saying, well, you know, I'll pray and that's somebody else's problem, and I hope somebody answers that call. Can we ask ourselves, what does God want me to engage in and what can I practically. And with the resources and spiritual gifts and talents that God has given me, where can I engage? And so, for me, this was, this. This dog, Stanley. He, he just appeared in my social media. He was set, this was a Thursday afternoon, and he was set to be killed the next morning. So I didn't even know if I would have time or, you know, how to possibly do this. I'm in Florida, he's in California.
Stanley's Rescue And Adoption: A Testament To God's Faithfulness And Provision
but I DM'd or direct message, Kelly and just said, you know, is there, I would love to help. How, how can I help? I'll take him. And so through, you know, some amazing circumstances, ten days later, he's now been rescued. I mentioned Friday, he was at a foster family. And you know, I had, I had prayed daily. Okay, Lord, I apparently now have a German shepherd. I have no idea, you know, what your plan is, but I'm just going to take this one day at a time because I knew at the very least, that that God was calling me to at least save his life. And from you know, there for after that then I will just trust the Lord on, you know, what the next steps were. And so had consistently prayed throughout the week. We did that show on Friday with my good friend Mark Meckler talking about stewarding God's creation. Saturday I'm out with some friends at lunch and I get a text message from the foster family and she said would you be open to allowing one of my friends, her family to adopt Stanley? And this was just the most incredible answer to prayer and it was a great reminder to me of God's faithfulness in everything, his care for his creatures and that when we walk by faith he does work all things together for the good of those who love him and, and are called according to his purpose. Because this story is just so amazing. the way that I understood this from from the foster family is that her daughter had a friend over who is the daughter of this family who's now going to adopt Stanley. And this, this girl just absolutely fell in love with Stanley. And their family has had four German shepherds previously and they just lost Ah, their 13 year old their last German shepherd in July. And so as, as her mom articulated it to me, you know that dog just left such a giant hole in their hearts. As for all of us who have ever loved an animal, they, they absolutely do leave a huge hole in your heart and you have just you know, have loved them their whole lives. And so they were looking and they were, they were ready to adopt another dog and were I don't know if they were looking specifically for another German shepherd. But now here Stanley who is looking for a forever home and here is a family who's looking for Stanley. And so it's just absolutely perfect because he's already home, he doesn't have to make you know, the arduous journey. I was just praying going lord, there are no great options because to get him to Florida to me because because the only way for a, you know, 65 pound dog is to go in cargo on a plane which would be very traumatic for him. And that's not just you know, an hour and a half or something. I mean this might even be through a connection point, you know, who knows, that would be a really long ah, time. There are some dangers, just physically associated with putting animals in, in cargo. And then the only other option is to travel by car. and the only transports Available, for dogs like that are, if you do someone who, you know, you pay professionally is to have them travel. And he'd have to be in a kennel, in a car with other animals for like four or five days, you know, because he obviously wouldn't be the first drop off point. You'd have them going, you know, traversing the country, dropping animals off at various other locations before he actually came to Florida. And so even though, you know, getting him here would have been great once he got here, that just was something that did not sit right with me. To think, you know, how could he get here and, and you know, should I fly to California, you know, drive him so at least he's in the car and can, you know, be out and about and everything. But, you know, there just really weren't great options. And so I just kept praying and said, you know, lord, show me the next step for Stanley. And he absolutely answered that prayer. And you know, Stanley's story and you may be thinking, okay, you know, great, this is a dog. Yes, but this is an example of how God cares about even the animals. He cares about everything. He's invested in everything. He cares more about Stanley than I do. I mean, I, I fell in love with this dog. I haven't even met him. And I wanted to make sure that he is taken care of, whether it was me or someone else, and now his forever family. But if I care this much, how much more does God care about us? And that he cares that we are praying for, for his faithful and that we are faithful to walk by faith. And that's what he calls us to every day in our lives. So I don't know what else is going on. For all of you listening, I know that, you know, there are so many people who are walking through stages of life where it's difficult. you're facing uncertainty. You don't know what you're, you're, you've gotten into or you don't know how you're going to get out of it.
Walking By Faith: Trusting God's Plan Even In Uncertain Times And Difficulties
but my, my testimony just in this one little story of Stanley the German shepherd is I knew that God said, save him. So I did. And I said, I don't know what's going to happen after that, but just prayed and said, lord, show me the next step. And he absolutely did. And within 10 days. God doesn't always answer in that period of time. But the point is, walk by faith. Do what God has for you today. Trust him with the rest and know that he will answer. And he has promised in scripture that he will work, work all things together for the good of those who love him and are called according to his purpose.
Remember Stanley's Story And Continue Walking In Faith
So remember the story of Stanley and make sure that, you know, if you can help a dog, do that. but make sure that you are walking in faith.
