Welcome to Real Truth for Today with Pastor Jeff Schrieve, senior pastor of First Baptist Church in Texarkana, Texas. Now, here's Pastor Jeff.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Well, good Wednesday morning, and welcome to Real Truth for today. Pastor Jeff here. And, as I was going to say, I hope you had a good, night last night and a good morning, but I know for many of us, we are experiencing mourning M O U r N I n G because things were, it was terrible for those of us who have conservative Christian values. It's terrible how the election turned out. It was a landslide for the Democrats. And, as, as I think in my mind, you know, who is celebrating today? Well, Planned Parenthood is celebrating today. And the transgender crowd is celebrating today. And the LGBTQ crowd is celebrating today. I would think that gang bangers and drug dealers, they're celebrating today. Muslims are celebrating today. Iran, the butchers that run that country, they're celebrating today. just horrific, what America has chosen. You know, we go to the polls. We have a constitutional republic. We go to the polls. We are the kings and we elect our, representatives. And America decided these are the people we want to represent us. And, states that have been, conservative states like Texas and Kansas and Iowa, they turned blue. I mean, in Texas, we lost. I say we. The Republicans lost the governorship, they lost the race for lieutenant governor, they lost the race for senator. And the people that got elected, their values are totally upside down. As I've said on a number of occasions. You know, it's people that call evil good and good evil. When you call abortion, health care, when you call mutilating a young kid, through drugs and through surgery, when you call that, transgender care, I mean, you're calling evil good and good evil. You're substituting bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. And what does the Bible say about that? Woe to those who do that. My friend Gary Frazier wrote this morning on Facebook that, the America that we have known for all these years no longer exists. Now, he tends to be a little, maybe over the top, in his assessment, but I think a lot of what he said is true. Now, here's the good news. You know, I was thinking I'm preaching tonight. I waited, to see how things went before I decided what I'm going to preach on. But I'm going to preach on the book of Habakkuk, where the Lord told Habakkuk that he was going to bring in Babylon. I'm raising up the Chaldeans. He says that fierce and impetuous people who will march throughout the earth to seize dwelling places which are not theirs. They are dreaded and feared. Their justice and authority originate with themselves. Their horses are swifter than leopards and keener than wolves. Wolves. In the evening, their horsemen come galloping. Their horsemen come from afar. They fly like an eagle, swooping down to devour all of them. Come for violence. The horde of faces moves forward. They collect captives like sand, and God is going to send them against Judah. And they did. They came. Habakkuk's probably hearing this, around 608 or so B.C. well, Babylon came in in 605 and subjugated Israel. Took captives Daniel and his three friends, Hananiah, Azariah, and Mishael. Their names were changed to, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. But he took back captives in 605, came again in 597, and slapped them around a little bit and said, hey, you're going to do what I say. Took back more captives. The second deportation, as theologians like to call it. And then he came back in 586 and wiped them out, broke down the wall, destroyed Solomon's temple, just turned Jewish Jerusalem into a rubble. Took back more captives back to Babylon. And so God is telling Habakkuk, I'm going to use these people to discipline my people. And Habakkuk's like, lord, that doesn't make sense. why would you use somebody more wicked than your people to discipline your people? It didn't make sense to Habakkuk. But then Habakkuk, a famous verse in Habakkuk. Habakkuk 2. but as for the proud one, his soul is not right within him, but the righteous will live by his faith. And then he says this as he sums up the book in chapter three. He said, I heard, and my inward parts trembled at the sound. My lips quivered. Decay enters my bones, and in my place I tremble, because I must wait quietly for the day of distress, for the people to arise who will invade us. Though the fig tree should not blossom and there be no fruit on the vines, though the yield of the olives should fail, and the fields produce no food, though the flock should be cut off from the fold, and there be no cattle in the stalls, yet I will exult. That means to jump for joy in the Lord. I will rejoice in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength, and he has made my feet like hinds feet and makes me walk on my high places. We rejoice in the Lord. The Lord sat as king at the flood. Yes, the Lord sits king forever. Psalm 29, verse 10. do we grieve about, the direction the country has chosen to go in? Yes. Did Solomon not grieve or Samuel not grieve when the people said, we want a king? And the Lord said, how long are you going to grieve, Samuel? They haven't rejected you. They've rejected me from being their king. You know, it's Romans, chapter one, as, Jenna was just referring to right before, the program started, at the end of her program. You know, when you don't want God and you don't want his will, his ways, his word, when you say, no, we're going to do it our own way, and we want all this free stuff. God is not for socialism. God is for personal responsibility. God is not for the Islamification of America. That is so foreign, to the scripture. It's foreign to the founding fathers. It's foreign to our constitution. And yet we're voting for this. El Sayed won by a, large margin in Michigan. And isn't it interesting? I think it was Wriley Gaines who posted this, but, in his, victory speech. How does he start it off?
Caroline My name is Abdul Rahman Mohammed.
Pastor Jeff Schreve And they cheer wildly. He never referred to himself as that on the campaign trail. He kind of downplayed that. But now he's, this is who I am. And he really plays up his Muslim name. you know, the Bible says in the book of, ah, Hosea 8, 7, if you sow the wind, you Reap the whirlwind, and we do reap what we sow. You know, I think, how we heard as Christians, when things like this happen, you put people into power who don't know, who can't discern good from evil, who call, you know, it's one thing to not be able to discern good from evil, but to call evil good and good evil, that's even one step further. It's not that I'm not sure, about this versus that is, I am sure and I'm 100% wrong. And I call bittersweet, and I call sweet bitter, and I substitute darkness for light and light for darkness. And that's what we have chosen. That's what we voted for as a country. And you know, it's one thing if you, want to put arsenic in your tea, that is a terrible choice, but that is your choice. But you know, when the vote goes the way it did, you voted to put arsenic in my tea too, because I live here, I live in America. And you voted to sink the ship, so to speak. And it's not going to go down immediately, but it's going to go down eventually. And we know, and I've said this many times, we understand that America is not talked about in scripture. It's not talked about, in Bible prophecy. So America is going to, just disintegrate and implode with its own sinfulness. And when the Rapture comes, eschatology is really important. As you look at, the geopolitical landscape. If you have an eschatology that is not consistent with the way the Bible lays it out, especially in the book of the Revelation. And you don't understand that, God is working with the church, but he's not done with Israel. And there is a rapture coming and it is a pre tribulation rapture and there is a one world government coming. If you don't understand all that, it's hard for this all to make sense. And so what is going to happen to America when the rapture hits? You pull out all the salt and light. Well, this is going to become a dark, rotting place very quickly. It's already, very dark and very rotten, but not to the extent. I mean, you ain't seen nothing yet as the song says. And so, we do grieve because we know that this is going to affect people and we care about people. And so as Christians, our hope is not in government, our hope is in God. But we know, just as Samuel knew When you reject God, his word, his will, his ways, when you say, we want a king over us and not you, Lord, there are consequences with that. When you do sow the wind, you reap the whirlwind. There are consequences. It's going to hurt people. We know that open borders hurt people, real people. We know that sex trafficking took off like a rocket. We know that, illegal drugs coming into America, America just took off like a rocket. And that destroys people's lives. You know, I was, thinking about the documentary docudrama that I saw and Debbie and I saw about, the opioid crisis with, Oxycontin and the Sackler family and how they would just, lie so that they could sell more Oxycontin and the lives that that destroyed. One of my good friends, his brother was put on oxycontin and could never get off. It just. It ruined his life. It affected so greatly, affected his family. it was awful. And I remember my friend Jon told me, he said, my brother just said, you know, I've beaten a lot of things in my life, but I can't beat this. And he didn't want to be addicted to that stuff, but he just couldn't get away from it. And to think that those people did that I. On purpose. You think about illegal drugs coming in and the lives that. That affects and destroys and the families that destroys. you know, you're hurt. And so, it's like the. It says in First Thessalonians, chapter four, we grieve, but we don't grieve as those who have no hope. And our hope is in the Lord. I woke up thinking about this verse this morning, Psalm 71, verse 14, where, the psalmist says, but as for me, I will hope continually, and I will praise you yet more and more. So our job before the Lord, our mandate before the Lord, seek the welfare of this city. That hasn't changed. To shine and share. That hasn't changed. To know that, as one caller had said just a couple of weeks ago as we were praying for conservative, Christian victory as far as the word, will and ways of God goes in this election, that didn't happen. But he said, you know, this could be the start of, the Lord's, return. And, you know, he could be allowing this to happen, for his purposes. Obviously God is in control and things don't have. Sparrow doesn't fall to the ground except by my Father. Jesus said, except he allows it. And so God is in control of all these things. And God is going to work all these things together for good. And so, as the scripture says in the book of Luke, when you see all these things taking place, lift up your eyes, look up, be watchful, for your redemption is drawing near. And we are nearer to the return of Christ than we've ever been before. And so we can rejoice at that. And we can just know the time is short, the coming of the Lord is at hand. And so, we need to, speak up for Jesus and tell people about Jesus who's mighty to save, because there is salvation in no one else. For there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved. When we come back from the break, we will welcome the president of American Family Radio, American Family Association, Tim Wildmon to the program and, get his thoughts and comments on what took place last night in America. And so, you're listening to Real Truth for today, Pastor Jeff Schrieve. Here we are up against a break, but we'll be right back on American Family Radio. Don't go away.

Pastor Jeff Schreve Welcome back to the program. Pastor Jeff here we, always count it. A pleasure when we can welcome president Tim Wildmon to the program. The president of American Family Association, American Family Radio. And, Tim, do we have you.
Tim Wildmon Hey, good morning, brother Jeff. Yeah, I'm here.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Oh, there you are. Well, good. Okay, Tim. I was watching you guys last night and I was waiting for some, some good News. But you never gave me any good news.
Tim Wildmon yeah, Jeff, are you sitting down? Ain't no good news, Jeff. Brother, I'm sorry to tell you. Except, you know, the good news is that we, sometimes what Christians say in response to bad times is kind of cliche. You ever heard those before?
Yes, I
Pastor Jeff Schreve have.
Tim Wildmon And you go, okay, you're just saying that to soothe yourself, but it really is true. And you proclaim it. the message of Jesus is above politics. Okay? Yes. And government and circumstances in everyday life. So it is true. It's not cliche, to say that, you know, we serve. We serve God. And that's our. That's our. That's what we get up every morning to do. So, however, and that mission continues, and, you know, the children of Israel were in exile, right? I mean, we've been through hard times. Christians in America have been through hard times. Foreign Christians around the world going through very difficult things that we can't even imagine. So, but all that being said, and that is true, God is in control. But what happened last night with voting across America, from just a, constitutional, respect for the Constitution, to me, was a complete and utter disaster. Okay? And I'm not laughing because it's funny. I'm laughing cause, it's a nervous laugh that, I don't know why I laugh because it's not funny. But it was a disaster, okay? Yeah. And, we're going to have to work to recover from that. The most difficult thing that I see is when you got these Senate seats that change the House. I kind of had resigned myself to the fact that the Republicans were going to lose the House because that's what happens in midterm elections. For the most part. If you look down through history, the party in power loses in the House of Representatives. However, in the Senate, that's a, big blow because, as I mentioned before now, after January, I doubt President Trump will get any federal judges appointed. You know what I'm saying? Confirmed. I should say confirmed. When the Democrats take over the Senate, we'll see, but I just think that'll be very hard to see.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Well, Tim, their attitude has been, whatever Trump wants, we're against. Doesn't matter what it is, we're just against anything he wants.
Tim Wildmon Yeah, well, Republicans generally hold that against Democrats, too, when they're in the White House. So that's kind of the way the game's played. you're right. But, we'll see what happens. But, in Mississippi. I guess I was stunned by where the Democrats won last night because you're talking about red states for the most part. Iowa, you're talking about Kansas, you're talking about Texas.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Yeah.
Tim Wildmon You live in Texas. Didn't they just. Didn't the Democrats just sweep
Pastor Jeff Schreve a one big. It was awful.
Tim Wildmon Didn't they, didn't they win? I mean, they won up and down the ballot, didn't they?
Pastor Jeff Schreve Yeah. new governor, new lieutenant governor, new senator.
Tim Wildmon I mean, it's a, that's a, that's a. You know, in Mississippi, we have a Senate race going on. It didn't get much attention because it's not very high profile, a U.S. senate seat at risk. And, they are. And miss. I don't remember the last time you have to go back to the, to the 80s, maybe the 70s, for you had a Democrat senator from Mississippi, my home state. Well, last night, as of this morning, the Democrat, the challenger has 48.9% and the incumbent Republican has 48.9%. I don't know what the statistical odds of having. And that's with nearly half a million votes for each candidate. So I guess next time they tell you your vote doesn't count.
Yeah.
Tim Wildmon You know, because you do. We're talking about almost a million votes being cast in the state of Mississippi for this Senate seat, and they're separated by 50 votes.
Wow.
Tim Wildmon So. And, so I don't know what's going to happen. Jeff. I think you have. If nobody gets 50%, I think you have to go to a runoff. I think I'm correct on that.
That's right.
Tim Wildmon And, anyway, the other place that Republicans lost last night, which was stunning to me, was South Carolina. That wasn't starting because the Republicans had a, you know, a candidate that was not prepared, that is, Lindy Graham's sister, Darlene Graham. It's. It's that, you know, once again, Democrats winning in a deep red state. Mm. M. So anyway, I use the word disaster. I don't know how else you. How to look at it, at least for the Republicans across. And it was a complete nutter wipeout of Trump.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Yeah,
Tim Wildmon I mean,
Pastor Jeff Schreve sure. And he, he just didn't get it. His post was, you know, if I'd been running, I would have one in a landslide.
Tim Wildmon He's delusional.
Pastor Jeff Schreve It just doesn't really help the cause.
Tim Wildmon do you think he's delusional or you think he's just prideful
Pastor Jeff Schreve or
Tim Wildmon both?
Pastor Jeff Schreve Very prideful. yeah, it's, Well, you Know, we look at this and, Tim, as I said right before the break in the first segment, my eschatology, tells me that there's coming a one world government and a one world leader. And this is going to fit into to that. America's not in, Bible prophecy, from my reading of the scripture. And so, we're here for such a time as this to make a difference, to be salt and light. You know, Tim, I don't think we're doing. You know, what I appreciate about American Family Radio, American Family association, and what your dad started way back when was to make a difference in the culture. But the culture is rotting all around us and, Christians aren't. We're not being the salt and light the Lord wants us to be.
Tim Wildmon You need to watch more Joel Osteen. Jeff, you are so depressing this morning. And you just need to get a smile on your face and go see a better dentist. Okay? Because every day's Friday. you know what? It's both. Yes, we see what happens to a country that rebels against God. And I'm talking about broadly and generally our country, the United States of America. We are rebelling against the God of our fathers in many ways. And God will not be mocked. Whatever you sow, you will reap. So if we're going to sow, you know, immorality, then we're going to reap the consequences of it. And if we're going to sow rebellion against God's standard, that our country used to revere and respect didn't mean everybody was a Christian. But we once called, My dad used to say, the Judeo Christian value system, meaning, the ten, commandments and the Sermon on the Mount, for example, those were rever. And those were the standards of what good behavior was and what truth was. And, that was across the board, across America. And, that changed. And, you know, you see it down through scripture. When a people rebel against God, it ultimately catches up with them and they have to painfully pay the consequences. And here's the thing. we live in the US and so all of us participate and all of us vote. And if enough people make bad decisions, then it's going to affect all of us.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Yeah,
Tim Wildmon you know.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Yeah, I had mentioned Tim, I said, you know, it's one thing for, the person next to you to order arsenic for his tea, but we got, we got arsenic in our tea, too.
Tim Wildmon Yeah. When they serve it out of the pitcher, though, that's when you got a problem. But you know what's also interesting to me, Jeff, is where does the Republican Party go from here? Because I said last night, new, leader, a new leader in leadership need to emerge. President Trump, whatever you may think of him, he only has two years left.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Right.
Tim Wildmon In office. And so, in order to somebody, this is the Republican Party this morning is in ashes, all right. Is in shambles. And the Democrats have been here too. they were in shambles after Biden, you know, so, I mean, it isn't like, the Republican Party can't be rebuilt.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Yeah. So here's my concern, Tim. with the Democrats having control of the House and the Senate, we couldn't pass the SAVE Act. Obviously, securing free and fair elections is huge. If we couldn't do it when we had the presidency and the House and the Senate, it, seems like there could be some things going in that would solidify the fact that, you know, you don't have to show any ID to vote as they did in California and other places. M. So secure. Voting is a big issue. the candidates that we had, just like Ken Paxton, he has too much baggage. you can't beat, James Talarico with all the weird.
Tim Wildmon Right.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Stuff he's got. I mean, that's just so we don't have, we didn't have good candidates in a lot of situations. And then the president didn't help.
Tim Wildmon No. And you know, Wesley, my son, he's more into maybe baseball than he is politics. He's a baseball coach. Is the reason I say that. If you want to get him started, start talking baseball with him. Okay? 20 minutes later you'll be, you know, you'll know what difference between a curveball and a slider. And. But anyway, but he did say this, and I think he's probably right. You can point back to the fact that this Iran conflict, war, whatever you want to call it, has now been going on, what, nine months? Or is it that long? Maybe not that long, but close to it.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Yeah. A good time.
Tim Wildmon Yeah. And I agree, and I don't disagree with President Trump taking military action when he did. But after we were over there and we did everything, all the bombing, everything, then we decided to continue on, with the military campaign. And nobody could explain to the American people to their satisfaction why we were doing this and what our end game was and what the objective was. We were just, you know, every day was Trump saying, well, we're negotiating, good. And then he comes back two days and goes, no, I'm Bombing them into oblivion. and it was just, ah, it seemed like a game being played without a game plan. You see what I'm saying? I think that hurt, it hurt Trump terribly in his poll numbers. M and it hurt in real life when the gas prices begin to soar.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Okay, so Tim, if you can go back in time and you're President Trump, would, you say, I'm not going to attack Iran?
Tim Wildmon No, I don't disagree with that. I don't disagree with him taking action militarily on Iran like Israel did. That's a. Listen, a president, be it Trump or Reagan or anybody, sometimes has to make decisions that's in the best interest of our country, knowing that it may be unpopular because they, because that's what leaders do sometimes. And because, guess what, he has access to more intelligence and more information than we do. Okay, so I don't blame Trump for bombing Iran over nuclear, weapons or, potential nuclear weapons, I guess you could say in the beginning. I blame him for going into April and May and June and July and August without really fully explaining to the American people what we're doing and where we're going and what the objective is. That's what I, that's the problem I have.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Well, you know, I've had different guys on the program. I remember, you know, the word quagmire came up and, people didn't like that because it's like, this has only been going on for weeks. How could anyone call it a quagmire? But messing with Iran, you know, it's like wrestling a pig. you know, you're gonna get dirty and they're not going to quit. And I just don't think President Trump, he may understand it better now, but I don't think when he engaged in that, understood the mindset of a radical Muslim.
Tim Wildmon No. And he should have. That's what I would blame him for. he's 80 years old, he's seen this act around the world, you know, and with all the people he has surrounding him who are smart, intelligent, he should have been able to discern that. I would say that, President Trump, in terms of what, what the mindset of Iran will be, I agree with you. Probably he thought, you know, we'll just do like we do, we'll just hit them, so hard with these bombs from the air that they'll just cry uncle. And they didn't. And they didn't.
Pastor Jeff Schreve No. Now
Tim Wildmon it's kind of like the dog catching the car
Pastor Jeff Schreve right
Tim Wildmon now. Now What? You know.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Yes. Well, I mean, they'll fight you to their last breath, and, they feel like that that's a worthy way to die. So it's hard to negotiate with somebody like that and go into the negotiation table when they just lie and lie and lie. Yeah.
Tim Wildmon So let me ask you. Let me ask you a question. Who's going to be the new leader of the Republican Party?
Pastor Jeff Schreve yeah. Good question. I mean, I like Marco a lot. I think m. Marco's smart. I think he's articulate. I think he understands the issues. you know, I would think I, Like, I mean, I think Desantis is the best governor maybe we've ever had. Right. In any state. I don't know if he campaigns well, but he's a great leader.
Tim Wildmon Right.
Pastor Jeff Schreve And then, J.D.
Tim Wildmon vance. J.D. what about J.D. vance? I wonder now if J.D. vance, you know, there's. If he's gonna emerge and be a. The reason I say that is. I mean, President Trump took it on the chin last night.
Yeah.
Tim Wildmon And J.D. mans is tied to the
Pastor Jeff Schreve right. Yeah.
Tim Wildmon The hip. He joined and joined at the hip with Trump. So does that hurt J.D. vance's chances as being the new leader of the Republican Party? I don't know the answer to that. I'm just asking a question. But I love Marco Rubio myself, personally.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Yeah, he's great. Yeah. Well, Tim, it's always a pleasure for you coming on, my friend. Appreciate you appreciate last night and you guys getting together and giving a, play by play of what happened, even though it wasn't, good news. But we know that.
Tim Wildmon Just remember this, brother, whatever happens last yesterday, there's always college football Saturday. So you just take comfort in that, okay?
Pastor Jeff Schreve I do. And we beat Mississippi State, so I take comfort in that.
Tim Wildmon Texas. University of Texas Longhorns. All right, Jeff, we'll see you later, brother.
Pastor Jeff Schreve All right, thanks. We come back, we'll take your calls. 888-589-8840. That's triple 858-98840. If you want to share, a word. Love to hear from you. So give us a call.
If you'd like to contact Pastor Jeff, email Pastor Jeff. Now back to Real Truth for today with Pastor Jeff Schrieve.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Welcome back to the program. Pastor Jeff here, we're talking about the election and, what took place last night in America and what Americans voted for. And, many of us who, want the word of God, the will of God and the ways of God to govern in America are, grieving Today. But we don't grieve as the scripture says. We don't grieve as do the rest who have no hope. I have a friend of mine who sends me scripture verses every morning. And he sent this one today. Nahum, 1 7. many Christians aren't very familiar with the book of Nahum, the minor prophet. But it says this in chapter one, verse seven. The Lord, Yahweh, Lord is all in caps, which means that's the personal name of God. Y H, W H. The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble, and he knows those who take refuge in him. As my friend Gary Frazier posted, God has removed his hand from America, in Gary's thinking. But here's the good news. God will never abandon his people. And so we trust in Him. We don't trust in government, we trust in Him. And the mission hasn't changed. We are to be salt and light. We are to make an impact in our culture for Jesus. We are to lift up the cross and the empty tomb. We are to call men and women, boys and girls, to repent, as Paul said in Acts chapter 17, that God has fixed a day in which he will judge the world in righteousness through a man whom he has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising him from the dead. And so we call people to Jesus and to come to him and to leave the pigsty of sin to come to their senses. And the, Holy Spirit would work on hearts and, and so that people would come to Jesus. And speaking of that, for those who live in the Texarkana area, anywhere in the Texarkana area, this Sunday we have a special guest coming in. My friend, Marine evangelist Tim Lee. Tim lost both his legs in Vietnam in the early 70s as he was fighting, for our country and serving our country. And God used that terrible situation in his life to turn his life around for Jesus. And he's a powerful preacher with the gift of an evangelist. And so he's going to be sharing, the Word and calling, people to Jesus. And so I'd love for you to come. If you have an unsaved friend or neighbor, bring them along because, you know, if Tim just preaches to the Christians, we're not necessarily going to see a lot of decisions for Christ. But if we as Christians bring somebody who needs to respond to Christ, then we can, hopefully see by God's grace that person come to know the Lord. And, so that's this Sunday. And it's in honor Tim is a veteran. It's in honor of Veterans Day, which is on the 11th of November. So this Sunday, we celebrate Veterans Day at First Baptist Texarkana. Well, we're going to the phone lines. 888-589-8840. We'd love to hear from you. And the phone lines are filling up, so we have Mark on the line from Ohio. Mark, welcome to Real Truth for today.
Caroline Hello. Thanks for taking my call. Yes, sir. I was thinking of this yesterday. I was thinking of this yesterday. two verses from scripture. Hebrews 13, chapter 13. I forget the exact verse. It's either 6, 7, or 8 says Jesus Christ. The same yesterday, today, and forever. Yes. And then in Revelation. And again, I don't have the exact reference, but when Jesus comes back on his robe is going to be written, king of Kings and Lord of Lords. His King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Now? Right now. And he always has been. And I think we need to keep that in mind. And then the other thing he said in Matthew was, go ye therefore, and teach all nations where to be about his business. You know, this really. It's really upsetting because of what these people stand for. They think it's okay to kill babies.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Right.
Caroline Enough said. Enough said. You know, do what Jesus wants us to do. And, it's heartbreaking and it's vexing, but he's in control and he's coming back soon.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Right? That's a good word, Mark. That's exactly right. Yeah. Hebrews 13:8. The Lord is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Revelation 19:16. His name is written King of Kings and Lord of lords. And Psalm 29:10, I quoted that one. The Lord sat as king at the flood. Yes. The Lord sits as king forever. And, a sparrow doesn't fall to the ground unless he allows it. God is over all things. He's large and in charge, and we can trust him. And, he'll never leave us and he'll never forsake us. But it is a blow. As I mentioned earlier, you know, Samuel grieved when the people wanted a king. And God said, how long will you grieve? Give them what they want. They haven't rejected you. They've rejected me from being king. And God was grieving over that. No doubt. God grieves over what happened yesterday. As Americans said, this is the way we want to go. These are, the politicians we choose. Whether that was done, ignorantly, not realizing what they were choosing, or whether that was done deliberately. You know, I think so many of them Have Trump, derangement syndrome. James Carville says he wants more of it and he hates Trump. And, you know, whether that is fueling all the pushback on the candidates. It's, probably some of it is in there, but, you know, we live with the results. And, elections have consequences, as Barack Obama said so many years ago. And that is a true statement. And they do have consequences. And, if you want to put arsenic in your tea, that is your choice. But when you vote, you put arsenic in the tee for the table. And so we have to live, and our children, our grandchildren have to live with those results. So we just keep praying, we keep seeking the Lord. We know that, this world is a sinking ship, as you heard me say before. And, the only safety is the Lord Jesus. He's our ark of salvation. So God bless you. Mark, thanks for calling in. We have Thom on the line from Arkansas. Thom, welcome to Real Truth for today.
Caroline Good morning, sir, and thank you for taking my call. And I just have a quick question that occurred to me during your, introduction. And that is, do you think we need to move the border wall to the other side of Texas?
Pastor Jeff Schreve The other side of Texas?
Caroline Yeah. Instead of around the south border, maybe. Curious what your thoughts.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Yeah, maybe add another border wall. we're in trouble, when it comes to Texas. Unbelievable, how, people would vote the way they did in the state of Texas. But as folks have pointed out, you know, you get a lot of people, coming in from California and NewSong York, and, they don't put two and two together. They flee a bad state because of the cost, of living. And then they vote for the same politicians that they had, you know, the same ideologies that they had in California. Not understanding, well, that's what produces this high cost of living. And, you know, people are saying, well, the gas prices are too high, food prices are too high. We're going to vote in this guy because he said he's going to reduce those and everything is going to be free. And, I mean, how foolish can you be? go to California, see how expensive it is to live there. Go to NewSong York, see how expensive it is to live there. And, so we're going to, there are consequences. We're going to pay for that. So I appreciate the call. Thom, we got Jim on the line from NewSong Jersey. Jim, welcome to Real Truth for today.
Caroline Yeah, thanks for taking my call. In the light of what's going on now and in the future, do you think that preachers should preach less about politics and more of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Pastor Jeff Schreve do you think, you think preachers are preaching too much about politics?
Caroline Absolutely.
Pastor Jeff Schreve So
Caroline not enough. But my balance is not enough of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Yeah. That gospel that calls men to repentance.
Caroline Yes. Repent and believe in Jesus Christ.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Yeah. So, so if you're, if you're going to be voting for the killing of babies and the transing of kids, would that not be a sin you need to repent of?
Caroline No. the question is, should preachers be preaching more of the gospel of Jesus Christ?
Pastor Jeff Schreve Preachers are called to
Caroline preach the whole. Who, who, who is preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ today?
Pastor Jeff Schreve Yeah. Who is?
Caroline Few churches, very few churches. They're involved in everything except the main thing, which is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Go into all the world and preach the gospel.
Pastor Jeff Schreve And
Caroline where is that being done today? In what denominations? In what churches?
Pastor Jeff Schreve You live in NewSong Jersey, but I'd invite you to First Baptist, Texarkana. We do that. many churches in Texas do that. I'm not familiar with the churches in NewSong Jersey, but you know, it's not one or the other. You can do both. You can preach the gospel, call people to repentance, and then call the country to follow the word of God, the will of God and the ways of God. You see those as mutually exclusive?
Caroline Absolutely, I believe that.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Absolutely.
Caroline Our mission, the Great Commission, to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. Now obviously anybody knows, you know, moral standards, it's wrong to kill babies, that type thing. They don't know that that comes, that comes in, I'm talking. Well, obviously it
Pastor Jeff Schreve doesn't, Jim, because people. Well, so I would take issue with you. They don't understand that, because they vote. They say we follow, we follow Yahweh and we vote for Baal. that's always been a problem. 1 Kings 18. How long will you hesitate between two opinions? You know, Baal was not just a religion, that was a whole way of life. They were farmers and BAAL is the, he's the God of fertility and the God of storms. And so, hey, we have to have Baal's favor so that we would do well, with our crops and with our herds and, and so it was all mixed together. And so yeah, well, I follow Yahweh for sure. But vote for baal. We have that going on today. I would take issue with you on this, Jim. Are we supposed to preach the gospel? Of course, as my friend Bill Federer said The most important thing is to preach the gospel. The second most important thing is to ensure the freedom to do the most important thing. If you lose the country and you lose your freedoms and we become communists, like China or Russia, it's very difficult to preach the gospel, because you get arrested for that. so you don't want to let just the country go away because you say, well, we're not supposed to get involved. You seek the welfare of the city, and what happened last night is not going to, promote the welfare of the city. When you get further and further away from God, you pay the price for that. So I appreciate the call, Jim. I appreciate, the different point of view. We have Bill on the line from Virginia. Bill, welcome to Real Truth for today.
Caroline Thank you. Glad to hear from you. I believe we're headed to become the United States of Islam, which will include the entire Western hemisphere, North and South America. I think, that's the only way that we are going to appear at the, in at Armageddon. We're going to contribute to the, the bridal depth pool of blood.
yeah,
Caroline the Democrats are just going to take over and the right is going to end up in jail or dead.
yeah,
Caroline they've already demonstrated when there's a, any sort of, shown of interest on the right, they get thrown in jail for years, years and
Pastor Jeff Schreve years. Right.
Caroline And, that's going to shut up the right and the Islamists
Pastor Jeff Schreve are going to be overpowering the Communists even. Yeah, that's the way I see it too, Bill. you know, I think, it pays to revisit what happened in, Nazi Germany. we're reading as a staff, a book by Erwin Lutzer about the lessons from Nazi Germany. And Rick Metaxas, who wrote about the letter to the American Church where he's calling on churches opposite of what Jim in NewSong Jersey said, but he's calling on churches, on pastors to speak up about these issues. we have a country to save, a country that was founded for our freedom, to, be Christians and to share the gospel. And God has used America over the years, to be such a force for the gospel around the world. But that is going away. And if pastors don't stand up and speak up, if we don't shine, and share, if Christians don't shine and share, then exactly what you said is going to take place and we will be silenced. And when the rapture comes and the Lord pulls the church out, then it's, Katy Bar, the door for evil to just proliferate. So appreciate the call. we have time for one more here. Let's talk to Greg in California. Greg, welcome to Real Truth for today.
Caroline Hey, great morning, Pastor. She. I appreciate you. so this morning, as I was, you know, woke up and was reading the word of God, I was in Revelations, chapter 15. And in Revelations, that's. It talks about the, Moses song, you know, when they were at the Red Sea and, you know, it parted for him. the Lord saved them and redeemed them. And it's amazing because right here in Revelations 15, it talks about. About we need to celebrate God's judgment, power, and sovereignty. And I was thinking about that because of last night's election. what I heard last night from, you know, Tim Wiles and in the men from last night, listening to the election overcome, it just reminded me of that, and I was so thankful because. Pastor Sheet, can I share it or just read it real quick to you?
Pastor Jeff Schreve Well, we're running out of time, Greg, but I appreciate the call. I'll read it. Revelation 15:4. For all the nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous acts have been revealed. And so, great passage there. Just eight verses in Revelation 15. Well, thanks for listening to Real Truth for today. Pastor Jeff Schrieve here. I'll be with you again tomorrow. Hey, don't be disturbing. Discouraged. I know that you're probably hurting, but, just know this. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith. And know that the Lord is on his throne. We can trust him, and he promises he'll never leave us and never forsake us. So go out today and shine and share. God bless.

God bless.
