An immigrant from Uzbekistan drove a rented Home Depot truck into a group of pedestrians in Lower Manhattan killing at least 8 people and injuring 9 as he shouted “Allahu Akbar.” In English that means “Allah is Greatest.”
The perpetrator is Sayfullo Habibullaevic Saipov. Sayfullo means “Sword of Allah.” Habibullaevic means “Lover of Allah.”
This murderer was shot but not killed on the scene. He’s been taken in for questioning… to learn his motive….
