The Primacy of Parental Discipleship and the Church's Role in Equipping Parents
Abraham Hamilton III Good evening everyone. Welcome to the Hamilton Corner here on American Family Radio. I'm your host, Abraham Hamilton iii. Delighted to be in studio here with you another evening. A lot is happening all over the world. In our own country we have AFR shareathon that begins tomorrow. where else would you rather be other then walking in the new Jerusalem? So much is swirling around us but at this very moment, many of you, if not most of you, are making your transition from your part time jobs where you generate an income to your full time jobs where you cultivate an outcome. And as you do so, I want to remind you to do so with intentionality, understanding the primacy that God places on family and welcoming his primacy to govern, to guard and to guide your engagements. There is an urgent necessity for us to recognize the biblical truth that the responsibility for discipling our children. It is the parents duty primarily. It is the parents duty primarily to disciple our children. Ephesians 6 discusses this Psalm 127 discusses this Psalm, 128 discusses this. Deuteronomy 6 discusses this. This is just a few passages in the scripture that communicates this reality. The church has a role. The church's role however is secondary to that of the parents role in terms of the shaping of the heart and the mind of the child, the parent. The church's role is to equip the saints for the work of the ministry. So it is vitally necessary, vitally necessary that churches reaffirm the biblical truth that if you are a parent you have been summoned into ministry and the church's obligation is to equip the parents to execute what God has called us to. It breaks my heart how many times when I travel into different places and they tell me that they've never heard this before, never heard this before.
Cultivating the Mind: The Centrality of Metanoia in Regeneration and Sanctification
And if you're in a place where you're saying yeah, yeah I've never heard this before either, then you're a step closer into understanding how we've gotten to where we've gotten in our nation. You see, central to the discipleship, responsibility Is the cultivation of the m. Mind. The very word central to being born again, that is repentance is a compound word in Greek called metanoia. The word is metanoia. Meta meaning with noia, meaning with the mind. The mind is central to regeneration as the spirit of God opens our eyes and hearts to behold the splendor and glory of the one who secures eternal life for the believer. The mind similarly is central to sanctification. Romans 12. Do not be conformed to this world, Splegnus.

And I believe that the Lord still opens the blind eyes. He even saves terrorists. I mean, the Apostle Paul was a biblical example of a terrorist. Not an Islamic terrorist, but a terrorist whom the Lord saved. I want everybody to be born again and at the exact same time, I will not hesitate. I will not mince words and say flat footed that Islam is evil. It's an evil ideology. It's an evil ideology. Yes, I'm keenly aware that there are People who identify themselves as Muslims who do not practice the full scope of what Islam teaches. But I, challenge everyone to examine whether or not those who are terrorists, are they acting in accord with what Islam teaches, or are they violating Islam? We can read ourselves. We have over 1400 years of history that affirms what we can read ourselves. And that is what we literally have to have the conversation about. We literally have to be able to confront what is true. Now, that being said, that's not the only thing that is, greatly concerning us in our country.

You know, I did some research just before coming on the program, and I did it in light of the story I'm gonna share with you now. And I'm talking about a middle school, Marshall Simons Middle School in Burlington, Massachusetts. Marshall Simons Middle School. Middle school, y'.

Abraham Hamilton III We're talking about sixth graders to eighth graders. Some sixth graders show up at, 11 years old. We're talking about 11, 12 year olds to 13, 14 year olds. Marshall Simons Middle School in Burlington, Massachusetts, had a celebration in which the school and I want you to listen closely to. Because I'm about to play a clip for you. I want you to listen closely to it. The school asked the children to participate in this celebration. And some of the children said, nah, nah, I don't want to go along with that. Listen to and watch clip number one. It's about a minute and five seconds long. Clip number one. Go. Plays of intolerance and homophobia are unacceptable. This type of intolerant rhetoric starts in the home.
Speaker G Parents angry at town hall over intolerance. At Marshall Simons Middle School, kids were asked to wear rainbow clothes in honor of Pride Spirit Day. But some organized a counter protest wearing red, white and blue or black. The principal sharing a statement to families that pride posters were ripped down, stickers ripped up. Some students chanted USA are my pronouns. And students showing pride were intimidated.
Abraham Hamilton III It was an unruly disruption, in fact, that was organized ahead of time.
Speaker G While some parents were upset, others say it was overblown.
Abraham Hamilton III Some of the kids threw the stickers on the ground. But, you know, I can only speak for my daughter. She just, she didn't want to wear that to school. It's not that she wanted to hurt anybody's feelings.
Speaker G She says her daughter felt coerced to participate in the pride event and, and was offended by some of the messages, like this quote from Tennessee Williams.

Abraham Hamilton III now. Did you notice it said that the children were asked to dress up for this? Who asked them? Hmm? Who asked them? Was it other students asking them to dress up with this or was it the school? See, you start doing a little digging, you find out the school organized this. Now think about this, guys. Think about this. If the school administrators or teachers have the audacity to start things like, oh, I don't know, a Bible study, what's going to happen, huh? Huh? What's going to happen if the teacher or the administration decides, you know, we're going to begin the day in prayer in school? What's going to happen? You see, we've twisted the First Amendment so much, so we're saying, well, no, the children, the children can't, I'm sorry, the adults in the room can't initiate these things. If the children initiated, maybe it'll be okay. But isn't it interesting if you're going to have a rebellion celebration?

I didn't teach them that. Where do you think they got it from? What do you think they got it from? They didn't get it from you. Where do you think they got it from? By and large, the answer is they got it from where we're sending them. Where we're sending them had another video. I shared it on social media. I didn't bring it to the show today. And the mom was basically saying the same things that her fifth grade child's being sexualized using this amaze curriculum, talking about his health and PE and they teaching the children how to be alone with themselves. I don't want to be too graphic. Y' all get what I'm saying?

Abraham Hamilton III And the mom saying, I want to opt my child out of that class, which I get. That's great, mom, but what about this? Your child is going right back to that class. What do you think is going to happen about the conversations when all the other children win the health class and they learning how to be alone with themselves? You think your child is going to be impervious from those conversations? Conversations. And don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to. People say it all the time that I, That you shelter your children. Yes, I shelter my children, but not from the world. I'm sheltering them for the world. I teach them about the different things that are happening. We teach them, my wife and I, but at age appropriate times and with the direction that we're endeavoring to launch our children in is how we do so. So they learn about these various things, but they're not getting it from. From. From Peanut and. And. And the classmates. We want our children to understand what God has designed. The wonders of the union between a husband and his wife and the context that God has allowed it in. So we thrive as God has ordained for us to do and to be. But what I'm saying is not enough, guys. We are losing ground because by and large, we are allowing Caesar to disciple our children and as a result, disciple the culture. And what is happening is that the culture is increasingly Romanized. obviously I'm using that as a metaphor, but that is what is happening. But we can reverse it if we would.

The Primacy of Parental Discipleship and the Church's Role in Equipping Parents
Abraham Hamilton III Good evening everyone. Welcome to the Hamilton Corner here on American Family Radio. I'm your host, Abraham Hamilton iii. Delighted to be in studio here with you another evening. A lot is happening all over the world. In our own country we have AFR shareathon that begins tomorrow. where else would you rather be other then walking in the new Jerusalem? So much is swirling around us but at this very moment, many of you, if not most of you, are making your transition from your part time jobs where you generate an income to your full time jobs where you cultivate an outcome. And as you do so, I want to remind you to do so with intentionality, understanding the primacy that God places on family and welcoming his primacy to govern, to guard and to guide your engagements. There is an urgent necessity for us to recognize the biblical truth that the responsibility for discipling our children. It is the parents duty primarily. It is the parents duty primarily to disciple our children. Ephesians 6 discusses this Psalm 127 discusses this Psalm, 128 discusses this. Deuteronomy 6 discusses this. This is just a few passages in the scripture that communicates this reality. The church has a role. The church's role however is secondary to that of the parents role in terms of the shaping of the heart and the mind of the child, the parent. The church's role is to equip the saints for the work of the ministry. So it is vitally necessary, vitally necessary that churches reaffirm the biblical truth that if you are a parent you have been summoned into ministry and the church's obligation is to equip the parents to execute what God has called us to. It breaks my heart how many times when I travel into different places and they tell me that they've never heard this before, never heard this before.
Cultivating the Mind: The Centrality of Metanoia in Regeneration and Sanctification
And if you're in a place where you're saying yeah, yeah I've never heard this before either, then you're a step closer into understanding how we've gotten to where we've gotten in our nation. You see, central to the discipleship, responsibility Is the cultivation of the m. Mind. The very word central to being born again, that is repentance is a compound word in Greek called metanoia. The word is metanoia. Meta meaning with noia, meaning with the mind. The mind is central to regeneration as the spirit of God opens our eyes and hearts to behold the splendor and glory of the one who secures eternal life for the believer. The mind similarly is central to sanctification. Romans 12. Do not be conformed to this world, Splegnus.

Yet we have lots of people who can diagnose the darkness and see, look at all these things that are happening. But we have far fewer people who are. Who are able to cogently articulate how we've gotten to this place. We now have the largest Marxist organization in American history roaming the streets of our nation, the dsa, Democratic Socialists of America. At the exact same time, you have a surge in really Islamists who are arguing kind of from a Marxist disposition like Abdul Syed and others, and they're being given grand hearing.

Woe to Those Who Call Evil Good: Recognizing and Resisting Deception
Well, even, even. It says, whoa. If you look at verse 18, it says, Woe to those who drag iniquity with the cords of falsehood. Woe to Those who drag iniquity with the cords of falsehood. That.

Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever or shrewd in their own sight. Woe to those. Now, this phenomenon, calling good evil and calling evil good and substituting darkness for light, make no mistake about it, it is darkness. It is darkness. You notice in the scripture, the Lord never says that because of a majority of a critical mass, therefore, darkness then becomes light.

Abraham Hamilton III No, no, never said that. Darkness does not become light. Don't matter how many people vote for, no matter how many people support support it.
Abraham Hamilton III No matter how many people may march for it, no matter how many people may riot for it, no matter how. No matter how many people says that they support the darkness, it never changes. The darkness to light.
Abraham Hamilton III Never does. But this is what happens.

It's compassion that makes you able to get over the fact that this woman brutally strangled her three children. That's compassionate, you see. That's. That is compassionate.

That's called manipulation. I am not one who said you ignore. You ignore circumstances, but that's not the forefront of what your concern should be. The forefront of the concern should be

Our Lord doesn't rejoice in the death of the wicked. I want people from all backgrounds to be saved. That includes people who are Muslims currently. I pray that the Lord would open their eyes. And I believe that the Lord still opens the blind eyes. He even saves terrorists. I mean, the Apostle Paul was a biblical example of a terrorist. Not an Islamic terrorist, but a terrorist whom the Lord saved. I want everybody to be born again and at the exact same time, I will not hesitate. I will not mince words and say flat footed that Islam is evil. It's an evil ideology. It's an evil ideology. Yes, I'm keenly aware that there are People who identify themselves as Muslims who do not practice the full scope of what Islam teaches. But I, challenge everyone to examine whether or not those who are terrorists, are they acting in accord with what Islam teaches, or are they violating Islam? We can read ourselves. We have over 1400 years of history that affirms what we can read ourselves. And that is what we literally have to have the conversation about. We literally have to be able to confront what is true. Now, that being said, that's not the only thing that is, greatly concerning us in our country.
The Sexualization of Children: Schools Promoting Pride Over Purity and God's Design
You know, I did some research just before coming on the program, and I did it in light of the story I'm gonna share with you now. And I'm talking about a middle school, Marshall Simons Middle School in Burlington, Massachusetts. Marshall Simons Middle School. Middle school, y'.

Abraham Hamilton III We're talking about sixth graders to eighth graders. Some sixth graders show up at, 11 years old. We're talking about 11, 12 year olds to 13, 14 year olds. Marshall Simons Middle School in Burlington, Massachusetts, had a celebration in which the school and I want you to listen closely to. Because I'm about to play a clip for you. I want you to listen closely to it. The school asked the children to participate in this celebration. And some of the children said, nah, nah, I don't want to go along with that. Listen to and watch clip number one. It's about a minute and five seconds long. Clip number one. Go. Plays of intolerance and homophobia are unacceptable. This type of intolerant rhetoric starts in the home.
Speaker G Parents angry at town hall over intolerance. At Marshall Simons Middle School, kids were asked to wear rainbow clothes in honor of Pride Spirit Day. But some organized a counter protest wearing red, white and blue or black. The principal sharing a statement to families that pride posters were ripped down, stickers ripped up. Some students chanted USA are my pronouns. And students showing pride were intimidated.
Abraham Hamilton III It was an unruly disruption, in fact, that was organized ahead of time.
Speaker G While some parents were upset, others say it was overblown.
Abraham Hamilton III Some of the kids threw the stickers on the ground. But, you know, I can only speak for my daughter. She just, she didn't want to wear that to school. It's not that she wanted to hurt anybody's feelings.
Speaker G She says her daughter felt coerced to participate in the pride event and, and was offended by some of the messages, like this quote from Tennessee Williams.
Abraham Hamilton III Human heart cannot be straight. It is curves and winds. And my daughter just kind of said, you know, mom, that's offensive to Me, who I am straight
Abraham Hamilton III now. Did you notice it said that the children were asked to dress up for this? Who asked them? Hmm? Who asked them? Was it other students asking them to dress up with this or was it the school? See, you start doing a little digging, you find out the school organized this. Now think about this, guys. Think about this. If the school administrators or teachers have the audacity to start things like, oh, I don't know, a Bible study, what's going to happen, huh? Huh? What's going to happen if the teacher or the administration decides, you know, we're going to begin the day in prayer in school? What's going to happen? You see, we've twisted the First Amendment so much, so we're saying, well, no, the children, the children can't, I'm sorry, the adults in the room can't initiate these things. If the children initiated, maybe it'll be okay. But isn't it interesting if you're going to have a rebellion celebration?

Abraham Hamilton III to participate in that, though, you see? Yeah, yeah, you're going to celebrate what God declares to be abominable. You're going to pervert his bow, his rainbow, and to use it for a, wickedness celebration.

Challenging Secular Culture: The Bible's Stance on Purity, Chastity, and Romantic Attraction
To dress up in celebration of a child's chosen sexual preferences. That's what we're talking about. Remember what I said earlier about the redefinition of things? Putting darkness for light and light for darkness? So we're going to speed right by that reality.

Abraham Hamilton III In favor of what? Telling 11, 12, 13 and 14 year olds that you're supposed to be sexually active and we are celebrated. Especially, especially if you're one of these, you know, panoply of rainbow identifiers. Do you see what I'm saying, guys? And look at all of the adults in that video I just showed you. All the adults, old boy with the tie on.

And some of the children will say,

Abraham Hamilton III Now think about this. The mom at the very end who was saying her daughter did not want to participate. Why? What did she say? Well, mom, because I'm straight. What does that mean? What does that mean? Clearly I know she meant to say

And I know this is going, and, and, and, and, and this may challenge some people, but there are many people who profess to follow the Lord, but really embrace a secular, quote, unquote, dating culture, Embrace a secular hookup culture.
Raising Children in Christ: Focusing on God's Will Over Secular Desires and Experiences
I personally had to persuade a fellow Christian that it was not unrealistic for me to seek to raise my children to be chaste until they're married. I wasn't talking to somebody who wasn't a church attendant. I'm talking to a church attendant who professes to be a Christian. When I told them that I'm raising my sons to be chastened until they're married, that I'm raising my daughters to be chased until they're married, that my sons have a connection between romantic attraction

We are not the measure for whether or not our children are thriving and are successful. Can I tell you. Can I tell you what the measure should be? Christ and what God has called them to be? We should be striving for them not to have just a good enough experience. Oh, well, I didn't have that when I was young. Or, well, I had that when I was young.
Abraham Hamilton III No, it's not even about what we did or didn't have when we were young. What does Christ have available for them? What does Christ have for them? What is the maximum that God has for them as he made them with their gifts and their talents and their strengths and their weaknesses, not measuring them in light of our.
Abraham Hamilton III When I was home school, I was homecoming queen. I want my daughter to be homecoming queen. And if you want to be honest, what did all that come with? What did all that come with. Raising my son? Son, you realize that it's not God's will for you to make your way to holy matrimony with the trail of broken hearts behind you.

Peculiar People: Resisting the Sexualization of Children and the Romanization of Culture

When I say discipleship, I'm saying that the desire should be discipleship in the way of Christ to where our young ones are formed into Christ likeness.

Abraham Hamilton III And in which direction will they be discipled? Because Jesus already told us that the
Abraham Hamilton III student, when fully trained, will be like the teacher. Will be like the teacher. How many times in your own lives have you said, man, m. I didn't raise my child to be like that. I didn't teach them that. Where do you think they got it from? What do you think they got it from? They didn't get it from you. Where do you think they got it from? By and large, the answer is they got it from where we're sending them. Where we're sending them had another video. I shared it on social media. I didn't bring it to the show today. And the mom was basically saying the same things that her fifth grade child's being sexualized using this amaze curriculum, talking about his health and PE and they teaching the children how to be alone with themselves. I don't want to be too graphic. Y' all get what I'm saying?

Abraham Hamilton III And the mom saying, I want to opt my child out of that class, which I get. That's great, mom, but what about this? Your child is going right back to that class. What do you think is going to happen about the conversations when all the other children win the health class and they learning how to be alone with themselves? You think your child is going to be impervious from those conversations? Conversations. And don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to. People say it all the time that I, That you shelter your children. Yes, I shelter my children, but not from the world. I'm sheltering them for the world. I teach them about the different things that are happening. We teach them, my wife and I, but at age appropriate times and with the direction that we're endeavoring to launch our children in is how we do so. So they learn about these various things, but they're not getting it from. From. From Peanut and. And. And the classmates. We want our children to understand what God has designed. The wonders of the union between a husband and his wife and the context that God has allowed it in. So we thrive as God has ordained for us to do and to be. But what I'm saying is not enough, guys. We are losing ground because by and large, we are allowing Caesar to disciple our children and as a result, disciple the culture. And what is happening is that the culture is increasingly Romanized. obviously I'm using that as a metaphor, but that is what is happening. But we can reverse it if we would.
