Broadside Rejected
September 01, 2017
00:00:59

“The one who states his case first seems right, until the other comes and examines him” Proverbs 18:17 (ESV).

During an interview with Senator Ted Cruz concerning the damage and future recovery from Hurricane Harvey MSNBC’s Katy Tur made a broadside swipe at Senator Cruz.  She accused him of wanting federal help for Texas when he voted against “funding for Hurricane Sandy recovery” in 2012.

The ever adept Senator said he always supports federal help for disaster recovery.  The bill he opposed in 2012 was a $50 Billion monstrosity that used Sandy as cover for deceitful pork spending.  Disaster help should be just that.  Disaster help.

“My brothers, show no partiality as you hold the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory” James 2:1 (ESV).

National and International media outlets covered the burning of a historic black church in Greenville, MS with “Trump” spray-painted on the outside of the charred building as proof positive that Trump=racism.

These same media outlets were silent when it was a revealed the arson culprit was a black man, a member of the church.

The media remained silent when 1st Baptist Church of Greenville, a white congregation, invited Hopewell Baptist Church to use their facilities for worship.

Instead of racism, this is a demonstration of Christian love and unity… once you get the full story.

Reason to Be
August 30, 2017

“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb" Luke 8:17 (ESV).

The Democrat party’s commitment to far left regressive policy has resulted in its decimation to where it is no longer a national party.

For proof, look no further than the 2016 Clinton election archipelago.

As a result, some in the party are suggesting they have to moderate on issues like abortion.

But some rabid Democrats, like New York Times opinion writer Lindy West won’t have any of it.

She argued, “abortion isn’t a fringe issue.  Abortion is liberty.”

Legalized baby killing is their “reason to be.”

White House Study

[Pray] “for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way”  Proverbs 16:25 (ESV).

Cabinet members are meeting for weekly Bible Study in the White House.

Regular attendees include Energy Secretary Rick Perry, Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, CIA Director Mike Pompeo, Agriculture Secretary Sunny Perdue, Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price, Vice-President Mike Pence and Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

The group is sponsored by HUD Secretary Ben Carson, EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt and Vice-President Pence.

Perhaps this explains the vicious, unrelenting hatred directed toward this Presidential administration.

Transitional Provision
August 23, 2017
00:00:59

The people of Israel ate the manna 40 years until they came to a habitable land. They ate the manna until they came to border of the land of Canaan.

The Lord provided manna for the Israelite's’ 40-year wilderness trek. This was an amazing display of the Lord’s provisional omnipotence. Remember however, the Lord wanted the Israelites to enter the Promised Land straightaway.

Manna provision followed Israelite rebellion. The manna stopped once the new Israelite generation ate the Promised Land’s fruit.

We are grateful for God’s provision always, especially in times of transition. But there is a big difference between transitional provision and the blessings of the Promised Land.

In Leaf
August 22, 2017
00:01:00

“And seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to see if he could find anything on it. When he came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs” Mark 11:13 (ESV).

From a distance, the fig leaves gave Jesus the impression that there was fruit on the tree.  Upon closer inspection, the tree was fruitless.

Perfect church attendance and ministry activity cannot replace actual Christ-like fruit produced in our lives.

From a distance, it can appear as though we’re bearing fruit but what would we find with a closer look?

Are we content with fruitful appearance or do we yearn for the real thing?

“Then Elisha prayed and said, "O LORD, please open his eyes that he may see…”  Excerpt from 2 Kings 6:17 (ESV).

One morning, Elisha’s young servant went out first thing and saw the Syrian army surrounding Elisha’s home town.  The servant was racked with fear and cried out to Elisha, “what will we do?”  Elisha said “don’t be afraid.  There are more with us than are with them.”

Then Elisha prayed, LORD open this young man’s eyes.”

The servant then saw mountain full of horses and chariots of fire!!!

As opposition mounts in our lives fear not, the LORD who is in us and with us is greater than the hostility present in the world.
