Abraham Hamilton III thanks audience for supporting ministry through share a thon
Welcome to the Hamilton Corner. Abraham Hamilton III here, I'm the host of the program, joined by producer extraordinaire, Mr. Jeff McIntosh. Often imitated, never duplicated, and we are ready to rock and roll with today's edition of the program. Right at the very beginning, I want to once again express my sincere gratitude to, to this audience for participating in our spring share a thon. it's always quite a bit overwhelming for me to see how people continue to support this ministry and I am grateful to you for doing so. We recognize that people that you, that you work hard for what you earn, you know, and having such a willingness from you to support this work, it shows that you are willing to, not just with mental ascent or with platitudes, but you're willing to materially support the work that is done here. And I will tell you, I for one am exceedingly grateful for that. I am sobered by it and it's one of the things that encourages me to strive to, to make this platform, through this platform, to make this a resource for you. I take it very, very seriously and I'm grateful to God to have the opportunity and I'm also grateful to God to be connected with people like you who support this work. So thank you again for what you have done these last three days. It really is amazing. At this very moment, many of you, if not most of you, are making your transition from your part time jobs where you generate an income to your full time jobs where you cultivate an outcome.
What goes on in your house is more important than what happens in the White House
And as you do so, I want to remind you, as I do daily, that what goes on in your house, and I know this may sound a little strange, while we have Operation Epic Fury surging and ceasefire or not to cease fire. That is the question, you know, the immediate question. But nonetheless, guys, what goes on in your house is more important than what goes on in the White House because you and I are directly responsible for what we do in our homes. It's the bottom line. If you look at our country and today we're going to Delve into it a little bit. But if you look at our national slide, our regression as a country, guys, it corresponds with retrenchments that have occurred in the family as well as attacks on the family. I think you can trace, some of the pertinent launches against God's design for his primary institution. I think you can trace them to things like, the prevalence of Darwinism. then you follow that up. And when I say that it's a Darwinism and it's a Marxism, but prior to get to, prior to getting to a Darwinism and a Marxism, it's a rejection of the truth of scripture. Those ideologies simply gave voice and a lexicon to articulate a, rebellion that was already occurring in the hearts. And then the embracing of these ideologies led to the direct onslaught against God's institution that followed the onslaught against God's holy word. As God's word became less and less in vogue. because the pursuit of literacy in America was for two purposes. First and foremost, so that every American can read God's holy word. The Bible, secondarily, is so that every American can read our founding documents, our Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. It'll be a surprise for some of you to consider that, that we used to have references to the Declaration of Independence and Supreme Court opinions. When's the last time you seen that happen? You know, but those things have those negative forces. And I, I have no hesitation in saying this. Those demonic strategies were launched for the express purposes of undermining God's work, through our nation. Because he can do things however he wants. But he's chosen to utilize the family as a primary discipleship and generational kingdom expansion institution. But the secularization of our country can be directly connected to the secularization of our families, the families in our country. And the only way forward for us is to employ God's ways, starting in our homes. May this be the day. If you've never done it before, may this be the day, where our homes are transformed into altars of incense to where we gather our families together. We fathers gather our wives and our children together and we lead our family in worship. Turning to God's word. I, know some of you are in different family structures. we have the reality in our society of single parent families. If you're in one of those families, grab your children and demonstrate the necessity of seeking the Lord. Grandparents, we need you support your children and help them to see the urgency of taking advantage of the familial context to execute God's purposes. Because we're never going to out politic, out talking, head out. Podcast listen. Podcast listen. The deficiencies that abound in our homes. This morning, we're going to turn to the word of God. And I alluded to this before, but at the conference I was at a couple weeks ago in Florida where I was speaking, I snuck in to listen to several of the presenters, and I heard Os Guinness, one of the things he said, because though he is a European, he lives in the United States of America now. And one of the things he said is there are lots of conversations about making America great. but there are not as many conversations about what it is that actually made America great. I want to invite you to participate in one of those conversations. And unsurprisingly, I want to get to the root of it, get to the nut of the issues, because there are lots of things that contributed to America's greatness, but they are secondary to the foundational reality that established America's greatness. As de Tocqueville once said, America is great because she is good. But the moment America ceases to be good, this was his warning. He commended America at one point, and then he offered the warning, the moment she ceases to be good, she will cease to be great. Psalm 127 is where I'm going to go. Verse one alone. That's where I'm going to go. When I read on the air the entirety of Benjamin Franklin's speech on June 28, 1787, on the floor of the Pennsylvania State House, which we now refer to as Independence hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he alluded to this particular scripture and said he believed it. This is what God's word says. Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it. Unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman keeps awake in vain. Now, I want to point out a couple things as Solomon is articulating this. In this psalm, he begins with the construction of a house, Singular. A singular house. And he rightly observes, unless the Lord builds the house, they who labor do so in vain. Who build it. Solomon is acknowledging that you can have all of the tools, all of the skills, all of the things you desire. But if the Lord does not favor or bless or grace your endeavors, it will fail. It will fail. And the construction of the physical structure is not merely what is in view in this Scripture. The construction of the physical structure is tied to that construction being consistent with the will of the omnipotent creator and sustainer of heaven. And earth, never forget, the Tower of Babel was constructed, but it was an unauthorized construction. So purpose for the unauthorized construction was never fulfilled, never realized. In many of our lives, we find ourselves, seeking to build, but don't realize. In many instances, we're pursuing unauthorized construction. One of the main evidence of the construction's lack of authorization, that, the Babel builder said, we're going to build this for our own glory, that our names will be known, put our names in lights, put our names in the history books, and we want to make sure that we are not scattered all over the earth. When that was a direct rebellion against the instruction that Yahweh had given them, which reveals that they knew exactly what God required of them. And they decided, you know what? Instead of going God's way, we're going to go our own way. Benjamin Franklin referred to this during his June 28 speech. He says, guys, it was during his plea to the assembly to turn to daily prayers in the Pennsylvania State House as they sought to hammer out what would become the longest enduring Constitution for the longest enduring republic. Let me say it better. The longest enduring constitution in the history of republics in the world. That's what it became. There is much attention because Benjamin Franklin referred to that first half of verse one exclusively during his speech. There's a lot, and rightly so, of course, he was making the speech during, during the time of our Constitution's construction. So of course he's going to talk about the construction component. But not as many people have paid attention to the second half of this verse. I'll, read the whole verse again. Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it. Unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman keeps awake in vain. Solomon makes a transition in this psalm to where he referred to the singular house in the first half of the verse. The second half of the verse, the singular house has now expanded to an entire city. So in short order, Solomon expressed as he's inspired by the Spirit of God to write, that is the it is the Lord superintending and providence that has enabled the house to be constructed. That continued superintending providence is what led the individual house to become an entire city and the entire city in order for the city to be sustained. So from the singular house to a city, and you go from construction to sustenance. Let me say it better. You go from singular construction to expansion, and then sustenance being sustained. And Solomon observes wisely by the Spirit of God, unless the Lord, the same one who is the constructor Unless the constructor is also the maintainer and watchman, the city will not be sustained. Our nation has grown from the fledgling, former English colonies to becoming the preeminent superpower in the world. While at the exact same time, it seems as if the city is content to function with its own humanistic watchman without regard for the fact. The fact that unless the Lord is the watchman, the humanistic, detached, unilaterally volitional watchmen, they watch in vain. Simply put, if we are going to have a future beyond the 250th anniversary of our Declaration of Independence, we must return as a nation to humble submission and dependence upon the Lord. M. Because without that, we may not see another 250.

Giles: Supreme Court decision on same sex attraction raises questions about morality
All right. As I mentioned in the previous segment, Psalm 127, verse 1 discusses the construction component. Component. Unless the Lord builds a house, those who build the labor in vain. But the building is only one aspect of it. The singular house is expanded upon to ultimately become a city. And the city, as the Lord inspired Solomon to write, requires a watchman. The watchman serves in a capacity to aid in the sustenance of the city, maintaining the city, maintaining its longevity continually. The watchman played a role, played that role. Solomon declared, unless the Lord serves as the watchman, the underwatchman watch in vain. Simply put, the constructor must also be the watchman. What it took for the house to be built, it was necessary for the city to be built. What it took for the house to be built is necessary for the city to be preserved. Similarly, what it took for the United States of America to be built is what is required for her, our nation, to be preserved. M There's a concerted effort in our nation, and it's not something that just started that we are centuries in. In this endeavor. There is a concerted effort to seek to have as our constitutional preamble states, to seek a more perfect union, meaning that we're getting better and better over time to seek a more perfect union while excluding the knowledge of God from our nation and our body politic. And I just want to tell you guys that that is an exercise in futility first and foremost. What is your standard for good? I've explained that that expression in our preamble, and that our Constitution was created in order to form a more perfect, perfect union was a statement that said that our populace, our people, via our Constitution will seek to be a better and better and better nation over time. That pursuit, brothers and sisters, cannot occur if we don't have an objective, anchored understanding as to what is good and what is better. This is why our nation is experiencing the strain of, things like the 8 to 1 Supreme Court decision earlier this week in the Kaylee Childs versus Salazar case out of Colorado. When Kaylee Childs, eight members of the Supreme Court, the remainder of the sane citizenry of the United States of America understands that it is good for there to be Christian counselors who have the professional expertise and learned capacity to aid a minor with unwanted same sex attraction or a minor who had unwanted dysphoric concerns about their sex and identity. It's good for that counselor to be able to help the confused child in embracing their God given bodies and identities. Embracing their God given designed sexual orientation. Never forget, it is God who said it is not good for man to be alone. It is God who allowed his word to illustrate the union between Christ and the church as being reflected by the marital union of a husband m who has committed himself in lifelong covenantal commitment to his wife with the capacity to bear offspring. God did that. But at the exact same time there's some in our society, one of them I'll name very plainly Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson who does not think it's good for Kaylee Childs to be able to help a minor who is confused to reject unwanted same sex attraction and to reject that dysphoric ideations. Now I know Justice Brown Jackson will say, oh no, Abraham, I'm not saying that it's good. all I'm saying is that the state of Colorado should be able to do that if that's what they choose to do. That's what she'll say. That's what I suspect she'll say. But that's not what I believe she really believes. And regardless of what I think she believes, the facts are the Objective fact is in this instance that she voted against what is good. There are often conversations about cleaving to what is good and true and beautiful. Well, her vote on the court showed that she did not believe in what was good according to what the scripture says. Interestingly enough that that same Colorado law says no, no, while the mental it said because it seems Supreme Court has slammed it now. And it also will affect the other 23 states that have laws like that. But they'll also say while Kaylee Childs would be, would have, would have been prohibited from helping a minor who had unwanted same sex attraction to reject homosexuality or a minor who had, who had unwanted dysphoric ideas, the law says she couldn't help that child to embrace their God given biology and identity. But the same law says but if she wanted to help a confused child transition, if a, if a child is confused and there's a little boy saying they want to be a girl, the Colorado, Colorado law said yeah, you could do that. Kaylee Giles, you see the twistedness of it. Now the Lord has already told us, those of you who causes these little ones to stumble, man, that's millstone qualified. But what I'm talking about is that that is a recent high court example of tension as to what is and what is not good. What would and what would not contribute to the formage. Sorry. To the formation of a more perfect un. There's a significant percentage, I want to say the majority of Americans recognize that it's not good for people to be willing to fly planes into buildings or to be radical Shiite twelver Muslims who want to bathe the world in blood in an effort to hasten the return of the 12th Imam. But there's some people who are in our country who are looking for the 12th Imam. What is good. Devotion to our Creator, the revelation of scripture. I've said this before, guys. These are the things that laid the foundation for mankind's pursuit of liberty that led to, to this, to the establishment of these United States of America. The Imago Day, the revelation of the Imago DEI and man's holy Spirit indwelled capacity to navigate God's holy word is what led to the Jeffersonian articulation that we hold these truths to be self evident. That all men have been endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable unalienable rights. That's where that came from. I refer to Benjamin Franklin's speech June 28, 1787 in the Pennsylvania State House. But I want to turn our attention to a Particular focus upon it. I mentioned something from the very beginning of the speech, and then I want to point us to something that Benjamin Franklin says that's absolutely true to this day. In m. The beginning of the speech, Ben Franklin says, quote, Mr. President, the small progress we have made after four or five weeks close attendance and continual reasonings with each other, our different sentiments on almost every question, several of the last, producing as many nos as eyes or yays is me thinks a melancholy proof of the imperfection of the human understanding. The imperfection of the human understanding. I'm gonna pause here, guys. That is something that is radically in contention in our society, and we're laboring under the strain of that contention, and many of us don't even know it. What contention am I talking about? Benjamin Franklin, in the presence of some of the most profound thinkers, certainly in American history. I would argue in world history. He says humankind's capacity to understand is imperfect. I want to show you the touchstone of regressivism that they call progressivism in the progressive movement. But y' all know I call it regressivism. Thank you, President Calvin Coolidge. The touchstone of regressivism is that man's capacity is perfect. Sin nature. What? No sin nature. It's very, very invictus. Like, I am the master of my fate. I'm the captain of my soul. God. Who. You mean me? It's like the rapper Jay Z who has the audacity to call himself J. Hova. That really is the impetus for the regressive movement. There's a song. It's a secular song. The song is named God did this Dude. Come on a song. Talking about hov. Did. Talking about himself. You know what I'm talking about, Jeff? That really is the thrust of the regressive movement. We don't. We don't need some external superintending force. All you need is enough government because man has got it all to himself.
Benjamin Franklin says we feel our own lack of political wisdom
Back to Ben Franklin. After acknowledging the imperfection of the human understanding, he says, quote, we indeed seem to feel our own want of political wisdom. Want means lack our own want of political wisdom. Since we have been running around. I'm sorry, Running about in search of it, we have gone back to ancient history for models of government and examined the different forms of those republics which, having been formed with the seeds of. Of their own dissolution, now no longer exists. Pause. End quote. end quote. Now I want to pause. Benjamin Franklin is acknowledging. Guys, we feel our sense of lack of political wisdom because we are going all. We're scouring. History, looking at other forms of government and examining them and endeavoring to glean wisdom from them. But we have to acknowledge that those governments were sown with the seeds of their own dissolution within them. How do we know that's true? Because those governments ain't here right now. They gone. That's how we know that they were created with the seed of their own dissolution within them, because they are no longer existing now. He goes on quote and we have viewed modern states all around Europe, but find none of their constitution suitable to our circumstances in this situation of this assembly, groping, as it were, in the dark to find political truth and scarce able to distinguish it when presented to us. How has it happened, sir, that we have not hitherto once thought of humbly applying to the Father of Lights to illuminate our understandings? End quote this is what Benjamin Franklin says. Then he goes on to reveal what I want to say to you now and is the maximum efficacy of human effort to try to make our way without God. Ben Franklin goes on quote I have lived, sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without his notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without his aid? We have been assured, sir, in the sacred writings that except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain and build it. I firmly believe this. And I also believe that without his concurring aid, we shall succeed in this political building no better than the builders of Babel. We shall be divided by our little partial local interests. Our projects will be confounded, and we, we ourselves shall become a reproach and a byword down to the future age. End quote I want to pick up right there because the last sentence I read to you is the inevitable outworking of man's efforts to make our way without relying on God inviting him to superintend our efforts. The constructor of the house must also be the watchman.

Abraham Hamilton III: Man centrism is the core tenet of regressivism
>> Abraham Hamilton III: Welcome back to the Hamilton Corner. Abraham Hamilton III here. I want to pick up right where I left off before the break. As Benjamin Franklin said after affirming his belief in the first verse of Psalm, 127, he goes on to say that without God's concurring aid, we, meaning the delegates to the Constitutional Convention, in their effort to create what became the US Constitution, he says, if without divine aid, we shall succeed in this political building, no better than the builders of Babel. Then he explains why. Then he explains why that is the case. And this is what I'm talking about, that this is the maximum efficacy of man's efforts. But for God's leading Ben Franklin said, quote, we shall be divided by our little partial local interests. Our, projects will be confounded, and we ourselves shall become a reproach and a byword down to the future age. You see, guys, the core tenet of regressivism is man centrism, humanism, which gave rise to atheism and Marxism, all of those other kind of stuff. But this man centrism inevitably results in man only being divided by his little partial local interests. This is why Marxism always fails. This is why Marxism is a haven for corruption, because the individual, baked in adamic, depravity, will always look to his own interest. I've explained economically, the reason why capitalism is the best system for a fallen Adam is because it creates a system that incentivizes the Adamic propensity for human beings to look out for their own interest. Because in the capitalistic system, you cannot satisfy your own interest without benefiting somebody else. Say it all the time. I harvest timber. Jeff mines lead. There's a whole industry that requires pencils. I cannot do well in serving the pencil industry if I don't collaborate with Jeff. So it requires our interest to align while incentivizing the Adamic, propensity to care for oneself, to provide for oneself, to look to one's interest. The communist system doesn't leave room for that. And I'm telling you, if our nation persists in an effort to forge a path, when there's a normalization of godlessness, and I don't care if you're talking about it on a political right or the political left, it inevitably will devolve into being consumed and dissolved in a damic depravity. That is what the regressors reject at the core and God alone. This is why John Adams said that man, our way of life, our Constitution, is only for religious and moral people. Self governance, that experiment of self governance will only work with a self governed people. That's the only way it'll work. And here's the thing, guys. Regressives have known this. I've alluded to this, but I don't want to give you the. I want to give you the specific facts about it. The worst president in American history, or one of the worst. This is Woodrow Wilson, in my opinion. What an evil man he was. An evil man. An evil man, huh? He understood that if you're going to fundamentally transform the United States of America, you have to move her away from her founding principles. In other words, you have to get away from the builder who built the house. If you're going to have a fundamental transformation of the city, you got to move away from it. What am I talking about? Woodrow Wilson was one of the foremost intellectuals and academics who ultimately became the 28th President of the United States of America. Who provided or, not provided, because really the Dred Scott decision used this rationale, but popularized and used the platform of the prominent intellectual stage, if you will, as the President of Princeton University. Then he became President of the United States of America. Woodrow Wilson delivered a speech and then later wrote an article. The article was titled the Authors and Signers of the Declaration of Independence. Sorry, the Authors and Signers of the Declaration. It was published in 1907 after publication of this article. He published the article when he was a president of Princeton University. Soon after being Princeton's president, he became the governor of NewSong Jersey. And when he was governor of NewSong Jersey, had an eye toward the White House. And I'm going to kind of take this in reverse order.
Woodrow Wilson dismissed the core thesis of the Declaration on July 4, 1914
I'm going to start with a speech that Woodrow Wilson gave on July 4, 1914. And you understand why this is so significant. In contrast Calvin Coolidge's Declaration of Independence speech with Woodrow Wilson's Declaration of Independence commemoration. Woodrow Wilson is speaking July 4, 1914, to commemorate the 130th, 138th. I'm sorry. Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. During his speech, he asked his audience, quote, have you ever read the Declaration of Independence? With close comprehension. M in quote, that's what he asked his audience because he wanted to know whether they had focused on what he described as, quote, the real character of the Declaration of Independence. The character in Woodrow Wilson's purview of the Declaration of Independence was not found in what he called the quote, famous preamble. This man took the heart of the Declaration of Independence and described it as, eh, ah, just a famous preamble. And he does so in dismissing terms to expressly have the impact that you might imagine. Oh, on the 138th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, you have Woodrow Wilson dismissing the core thesis of the Declaration, the core philosophy of the Declaration, as a mere preamble. Oh, maybe we don't need to think about it. This mere preamble that Wilson, as Wilson described it, are, the first two paragraphs of the Declaration of Independence. The first paragraph, including the recognition of the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and nature's God entitle us. The second paragraph, beginning with the sentence, we hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal. Woodrow Wilson. Propounded from the bully pulpit of the Presidency on the 130th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, that the American people need to just toss aside that mere preamble, the preamble that set forth the idea that all men are created equal and, and the ideas that, that all create equally created men are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights. It's not a surprise that Woodrow Wilson was a segregationist. That after 50 years or so of having an integrated federal workforce, Woodrow Wilson segregated the entire workforce, you know, because he couldn't be bothered to embrace that whole all men are created equal thing. He didn't believe that. He didn't believe that because as he described in his own terms, he was of the view of the Aryan supremacy. Mm Mm Yeah. Instead, Woodrow Wilson continued in this speech on July 4, 1914, by lecturing that the quote discerning reader would pass beyond those preliminary passages, pass beyond the famous quote about the rights of men. Because that's not the heart of the document. In quote, that's what Woodrowson said. Well, if you follow Woodrow Wilson's career, you know, that wasn't the first time he talked about that. By that point, there were enough people in the nation that embraced Woodrow Wilson's ideas that he felt More comfortable saying something so ridiculous on the anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. And I'm bringing this out because America's 250th is the 250th anniversary of that same Declaration of Independence. Back to the 1907 speech and article, the authors and signers of the Declaration. Back when Woodrow Wilson was president of Princeton University, he said, quote, that the Declaration does indeed open with the assertion that all men are equal. But Mr. Jefferson and his colleagues in the Continental Congress spoke for no generation but their own. We in modern times are not bound to adhere to the doctrines held by the signers of the Declaration of Independence. Every generation should determine, afresh, what principles, what forms of power we think most likely to affect our safety and happiness. Do you see what he's doing there? You see, Woodrow Wilson is doing the exact opposite of recognizing. Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build a labor in vain. Unless the Lord watched the city. The watchman says, waking man, he's doing the exact opposite. What Jeroson is saying, well, if the house is built, thank you. Glad that the house is built. But now that I'm on the scene, I don't care how the house was built, because I need to determine afresh what forms, as he said, quote, what principles and forms of power that I think is most likely to affect my life and safety. You see? Severing the generational legacy, severing the historical rooting. Willfully forgetting, no, not willfully forgetting. Rejecting any willingness to consider what made America great. We want to talk about how great we are now. We want to forge a path forward. And we don't need to be bothered by the whole idea of a creator and men being created equal and, and, being endowed with inalienable, unalienable rights by the Creator. We don't need to be bothered with that. Four years later, after that 1907 article was published, as the president of Princeton University, then governor WOODROW WILSON, N.J. governor Woodrow Wilson in 1911 was willing to be far more blunt. And by the time he's saying this in 1911, he's the governor of NewSong Jersey, but he's got his eye on the presidency. The brand new governor, newly elected governor of NewSong Jersey, he was willing to be straight up blunt about his perception of the Declaration. Speaking to the Jefferson Club in Los Angeles, California, Woodrow Wilson warned the audience to ignore. The beginning of the Declaration of Independence. He said, quote, those words comprise merely a rhetorical introduction. They are the least part of it. If you want to understand the real Declaration of Independence. Do not repeat the preface. End quote. You can't get more direct than that. Woodrow Wilson said, if you want to understand the real Declaration, don't repeat the preface. What is he calling the preface? The entire first two paragraphs. Because the first two paragraphs include the reference to the laws of nature, and nature is God. The initial reference, it includes the fact that we hold truths that are self evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by the Creator with unalienable rights. Among them included are life. Among them are those. I'm sorry. Among those are. Ah, life, liberty in the pursuit of happiness. That to secure those governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. You see, Wilson was a regressive. He didn't want Americans getting the idea that government only has power that is justly utilized and operated according to the governed. The governed. People's consent. Wilson didn't agree with that. He saw government as the Lord of the people. So he would argue he. No, not what he did argue. Well, you need to reject the preface if you really want to understand the. The Declaration is benefiting. So then what are you left with? All you're left with if you reject the heart of the document are the grievances. And when the grievances are presented, the only answer to the grievances is the aggrandizement and the enlargement of government. This was intentional from Woodrow Wilson because he had no interest in what made our nation great. His only interest was in utilizing the brute force and the centralization of government and the wielding of its power. But if we want to charter course forward, we have to affirmatively reject the Wilsonian ideology, which by and large is the framework for that the American populace is functioning within Currently, the views and opinions expressed in this broadcast may not necessarily reflect those of the American Family association or American Family Radio.
