Thanks to faster economic growth and a supportive atmosphere for scientific and technological innovation, the U.S. dethroned Hong Kong to retake first place as the world’s most competitive economy according to annual rankings by the Switzerland-based IMD World Competitiveness Center.
The renewed top ranking aligns with the positive U.S. growth narrative over the past year.
Venezuela is dead last in the world.
The U.S. was followed in the rankings by Hong Kong, Singapore, the Netherlands and Switzerland.
But the United States is back where we belong, at number one. I like it.
