The 14th Amendment says “All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside.”

The phrase “subject to the jurisdiction thereof” was clearly formed as a limitation on who would be granted citizenship due to being born on American soil.

We know this because the children born to foreign diplomats in America are not granted U.S. citizenship.

The children of illegal aliens are no more subject to U.S. jurisdiction than the children of foreign diplomats.
