When photos surfaced purporting to depict Virginia Governor Ralph Northam clad either in blackface or in KKK garb, the Virginia House Democrats demanded that Governor Northam resign immediately.

However, after allegations of sexual assault committed by Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax and Attorney General Mark Herring admitted to dressing in blackface as a college student, the Virginia House Democrats have made no such resignation demands.

It makes one ask why?

If sexual assault accusations and dressing in blackface are disqualifiers for public office, we should expect the Democrats in the Virginia House of Delegates to be consistent in their resignation demands… shouldn’t we?
