Tim Wildmon This is Trivia Friday.
Ed Vitagliano The number to call with your question
Tim Wildmon or your answer to a question is 888-589-8840.
Ed Vitagliano You're talking theater or movies, folks.
Tim Wildmon That's my wheelhouse.
Ed Vitagliano That's right.
Tim Wildmon So I sold one of my kidneys and we bought us tickets right behind home plate. It's worth it.
JJ Jasper Under normal circumstances.
Ed Vitagliano Under normal circumstances.
John Bingo.
Ed Vitagliano Old dog Candler right back in it, Tim.
Tim Wildmon Thank you. Hey, good morning, everybody, and welcome to Trivia Friday right here on American Family Radio. Thanks for listening to afr. I'm Tim Wildmon with Ed Battagliano. Good morning, Ed.
Ed Vitagliano Good morning, Tim.
Tim Wildmon J.J. jasper.
JJ Jasper Good morning.
Tim Wildmon How you doing? pride of Owensboro, Kentucky.
JJ Jasper Yes, sir. Hey, we got a lot of baby boomers listening. Getting older means your arm has to be in the just right position when you go to bed if you want to use it the next day. And we were having a little bit of that conversation. Actually, I, have two this morning. Can I throw out another one?
Ed Vitagliano Absolutely.
JJ Jasper Our listeners don't know.
Tim Wildmon Just don't throw out your bag.
Ed Vitagliano Right.
JJ Jasper Tim went on a, to a, couple of days golfing and some awesome golf courses. And a lot of people don't know this. My boss and friend Tim Wildmon can hit the golf ball so hard and so far that oftentimes when he finds it, it has changed brands. That's hit the ball hard right there, my friend.
Tim Wildmon Funny how that happens.
Ed Vitagliano so, so JJ has now added golf jokes to his repertoire.
Tim Wildmon That's, that's, that's good.
JJ Jasper Just on my way in here.
Ed Vitagliano Yeah.
JJ Jasper All right.
Tim Wildmon TR Friday it is on American Family Radio. We also call this Learning University. So we are professors here at Learning University.
Don Wildmon Sure are.
Ed Vitagliano You don't believe us, just ask us.
Tim Wildmon Institution of, higher education right here. So, we are going to ask three trivia questions each and we are going to ask you to call in and answer 1 and ask 1. Is today first time or no?
JJ Jasper No.
Tim Wildmon Okay, just. So here are the rules. Today, you're eligible to call in and be on the air with us. If you've not made a on air appearance in the eight weeks. That makes sense.
Ed Vitagliano Yeah. On air appearance.
JJ Jasper Wow, that sounds a little better than
Tim Wildmon just getting through an on air. If you haven't been on the air with us in the last eight weeks, you're eligible to call. We obviously love first time callers. so what's the phone number yet? If people want to.
Ed Vitagliano I'm glad you asked, by the way. We do ask that you be 11 years old or older. Yeah, we kind of do.
Tim Wildmon Yeah, we do. We asked. You said it nicely. But, yeah, you're going to have to be 11 years old.
Ed Vitagliano That's right.
John Or older.
Tim Wildmon Or older.
Ed Vitagliano All right, the number to call is 888-589-8840. That number again. 888-589-8840. Now, one of these original nine questions is, a mystery question. Is it really? What does that mean, jj? It's a mystery.
JJ Jasper one of these original nine questions, as you mentioned, a mystery question. You don't know which. Which question it is, but if you happen to land on it and answer it correctly, you'll hear this sound.
Don Wildmon Ah.
JJ Jasper the beloved cowbell.
Ed Vitagliano Beloved.
Tim Wildmon And all the world will know yourself.
JJ Jasper Yeah. A Learning University T shirt. It's got a seal just like a collegiate seal. It's athletic gray. It really is a beautiful design. It's the latest of. It's the third design of our trivia Friday, Learning University T shirts.
Tim Wildmon You.
JJ Jasper You can win that today, my friend, if you land on the mystery question and answer correctly.
Tim Wildmon This means Learning University's in distress.
Ed Vitagliano Upside down.
Tim Wildmon I'm holding the T shirt upside down.
JJ Jasper Hey, if people want to watch, how do they do that, Ed?
Ed Vitagliano Well, if you want to watch, there's several, ways. You can go to our own streaming platform, stream.afa.net stream.afa.net or you can go to YouTube or Facebook and search for today's issues or today's issues live. and then you can watch the live video stream for the program. By the way, I'm going to throw another website at you if you want to buy one of these. I like what JJ always says. And it is October, folks, and we're getting towards the end of it. If you need some stocking stuffers, you can pick up T shirts. These Learning University T shirts are for sale at resources.afa.net resources.afa.net T shirts aren't the only things there. We have ball caps. We have, tumblers. We have books. We have, DVDs. I don't think we still have any CDs, but, we do have all kinds of stuff there. Pick yourself some, some nice products. And we don't have any storm away. I, you know, I don't think we do.
Tim Wildmon There are better investments, actually.
Ed Vitagliano CDs or gold coins.
Tim Wildmon Go. Coins.
Ed Vitagliano Yeah. Well, we're thinking of putting out a new set of gold coins with your picture on them.
Tim Wildmon Well, you know, I'm honored. I appreciate it.
Ed Vitagliano Well, one president did it here recently, so this would be another president.
JJ Jasper Hey, can I throw something else out? A little praise report? Bert Harper. Everybody loves brother Bert. Bert and Alex Middays exploring the word Bert and Jan. They started the fishbowl retreat years ago for the pastor and their spouse. They had the fishbowl retreat in Tennessee this week. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. 40 pastors. So there were 80 people attending pastors and their spouses, from 11 different states. And it was wonderful. I was privileged to be the speaker on Tuesday.
Tim Wildmon Amen.
JJ Jasper Met, Chase and Jessica. Chase is the pastor of Colony, Kansas. Colony Christian Church in Colony, Kansas. Met Steve Rogers, veteran, a captain, and he was a chaplain captain over there. Captain America. He's a captain on several Steve Rogers in several ways.
Ed Vitagliano Family, Arkansas.
JJ Jasper But anyway, a lot of different pastors. Boy, October, Pastor Appreciation Month. Please pray for your pastor. Maybe take the pastor's family out to eat or an encouraging note or a gift card. That'll go a long way.
Ed Vitagliano Yeah, absolutely.
Tim Wildmon All right, go ahead, Ian.
Ed Vitagliano All right, here are my three questions, folks. You got to listen closely to this first one. Yoseb Ju Gashville is the actual name for what famous Soviet dictator? Yosep Jugashvili is the actual name for what famous Soviet dictator.
JJ Jasper He went by Bubba, if that'd make
Ed Vitagliano it easier for people to. Yeah, that, that. That first dictator, Bubba, He. He was. Boy.
Tim Wildmon He was from south. He was from south Russia.
Ed Vitagliano Oh, he was mean.
JJ Jasper Moon pies. A little bit of vodka. Not quite the same, but he had a real attitude.
Tim Wildmon They made some moonshine vodka. That's what they were famous for.
Ed Vitagliano Moonshine vodka. That. That'll knock you out for a week.
Tim Wildmon They were a good jazz band, too. Moonshine vodka. Do you remember them?
Ed Vitagliano you know, I don't. Why don't you. Why don't you say
Tim Wildmon right after the Rat Pack?
Ed Vitagliano After the Rat Pack. Oh, boy. That goes back. I didn't know that rap came after the Rat Pack, but. All right, second city. Second, question, rather. I got this from, actually from Tim this week. What, city? This is pretty easy. What city is called the Eternal City? What city is called the Eternal City? And a true false question for my third question. Massachusetts is the state that has produced the most US Presidents. Is that true or false? Massachusetts is the state that has produced the most US Presidents. True or false?
JJ Jasper Eternal city. There's a deal. I'm going to go out on a lamp, say it's either heaven or Hades. It starts with the H1 or the
Tim Wildmon other is going to be eternal or the new Jerusalem.
JJ Jasper Here's what I've got. First question from the Bible. After King Solomon's death, which of his sons inherited the throne? After King Solomon's death, which of his sons became king?
Tim Wildmon That's a prodigal son story there, isn't
JJ Jasper it getting pretty close? Yes, sir.
Tim Wildmon One of them got pretty ticked.
JJ Jasper Second, second question. the, Who are the Mario brothers usually trying to save? Who are the Mario brothers usually trying to save?
JJ Jasper And then third question, true or false? comedian Redd Fox's real last name was Sanford. Is that true or false? Comedian Red Fox. His real last name was Sanford, as in Sanford. And so, yeah, that's what I've got
Ed Vitagliano Coming home, Elisabeth, here in my.
Tim Wildmon All right. he said it with a little more vigor and passion.
JJ Jasper Hey. And when I was doing research for this true story on the set, he. He started having a heart attack. He put his hand over his heart and was doing his signature thing, but it was legit and nobody was paying attention. They thought he was clowning around saying, did he live through. That's true. No, no, he did not.
Ed Vitagliano He died.
JJ Jasper He died on the set having a heart attack, hand clutched on his heart like he would do in Sanford.
Ed Vitagliano Oh, come on.
JJ Jasper When they say. I almost thought I'd add that and say, is that true? But that seemed a little dark.
John Yes.
JJ Jasper But, yeah, people thought. He always. Elisabeth, I'm coming to see you, you know.
Ed Vitagliano Oh, wow.
Tim Wildmon I didn't know that.
Ed Vitagliano Which is, probably a good reason why I didn't do it. I didn't do the invitation.
Tim Wildmon All right, here we go. here are my three questions. Number, number one, what are the three most widely used yard grasses in the US And I'm not talking about field grass.
Ed Vitagliano You know, just people like me who just let it go, mow it, let it go, let it grow.
Tim Wildmon Basically just a bunch of weeds. I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about people who actually care.
Ed Vitagliano Yeah, about there.
JJ Jasper No, listen, no judgment zone right here.
Ed Vitagliano I've made. I've made it clear I don't care what's growing in my yard. I hope it all dies.
Tim Wildmon That. I don't think that has. Yeah, that doesn't have anything to do with your salvation like that.
Ed Vitagliano happy to hear it.
Tim Wildmon That's just. That's just a matter of personal opinion, but, I mean, it is a reflection.
Ed Vitagliano I get up to those pearly gates and St. Peter says, your yard. We're not letting you in.
JJ Jasper you People's crabgrass. You're dead to me.
Tim Wildmon I call it field grass, crabgrass. Anything goes weeds, it makes me crab.
Ed Vitagliano That's right here.
Tim Wildmon So the question is this. There are, I want to know, the three most widely used yard grasses in the U.S. okay, everybody got that?
JJ Jasper Yes, sir.
Tim Wildmon Okay, number two. How do dogs primarily sweat? How do dogs primarily sweat? And my third question, and this is a good one. I researched this one. What is the origin of the expression showing their true colors? We've all heard that, right?
JJ Jasper Yeah, we've all heard that.
Tim Wildmon We've all heard that our whole life. Well, what is the origin of that
JJ Jasper expression, of these chameleon questions?
Tim Wildmon Their true colors. There you go. Let's go. The phones in.
Ed Vitagliano All right. We're gonna go first to Texas. That's not really a surprise. And Jon is on the line. Jon, welcome to Trivia Friday.
John Hey, guys, this is Jon, formerly of. Ah, cut and shoot.
Ed Vitagliano Hey, Jon.
Tim Wildmon how you doing?
Ed Vitagliano Welcome. Welcome back.
JJ Jasper Now, he's in Tyler, Texas, or near Tyler.
John Yeah, yeah, I live in Tyler now. Yeah.
JJ Jasper Jon, ask, answer or do both, sir.
John Well, I want to do both, but first, I'd like to let you all know I think I did it last time I was on. But I have enough questions that if I can make it every eight weeks, and I'll. I'll have questions until, November of 2030.
JJ Jasper Wow, that's good planning right there.
Tim Wildmon That is absolutely.
Ed Vitagliano But you can't get any. You can't find any new questions, or you'll be going till 2050.
Tim Wildmon Yeah. So how old are you, Jon?
John I'm. I'm, 78.
Tim Wildmon Yeah. All right, well, do the math.
JJ Jasper That means I'm optimistic.
Ed Vitagliano Tim, I knew when you asked that question this was not going to turn out well.
Tim Wildmon I'm just teasing.
Ed Vitagliano I hope you live to 100m. I hope you make it to 100.
Tim Wildmon You know what? everybody wants to live to be to 100 except the man that's 99.
Ed Vitagliano No, no, it's the opposite. It's the opposite. No one wants to live to 100 unless they're the guy who's 99.
Tim Wildmon Yeah, I think we're splitting hairs. that was an unnecessary.
Ed Vitagliano Why would the guy who's 99 not want to live to 100?
Tim Wildmon I said everyone wants to live to be to 100 except the man that's 99. You don't get that?
Ed Vitagliano That makes no sense.
Tim Wildmon All right, well, the guy who's 99 staring 100 in the face, and he
Ed Vitagliano doesn't want to make it to 100.
Tim Wildmon Everybody wants to live he wants to live to be a 101. 102.
Ed Vitagliano All right, I hear you now.
JJ Jasper Hey, speaking of which, if he's 99.
Tim Wildmon Everybody wants to live to be the hunt. We talk about this. Can you go to lunch next week? Because we can.
Ed Vitagliano We need to discuss it.
JJ Jasper Want to say happy birthday to my father? he is, He was a scout for the, Braves. He was a scout for the Mets.
Ed Vitagliano Yeah, but how old is he?
Tim Wildmon Scout for the Braves. That goes back to the 1800s.
JJ Jasper Yeah, it does. Cooper Ferris. Happy birthday. Great golfer all around good guy.
Tim Wildmon Talk about a man lived to be to 100.
John Wow.
Tim Wildmon Dude was a scout, and he stood for the Braves. And he's still going.
JJ Jasper Not a scout for the Civil War, a scout for the Atlanta Braves.
Ed Vitagliano 40.
Tim Wildmon Wait, wait, Jon. We head out there, Jon. Unnecessarily heading west.
JJ Jasper Task answer or do both, Jon?
John I would love to do both.
JJ Jasper Which one you want to answer?
John I'll try Ed's first question.
Ed Vitagliano All right, here's. Let me repeat it, Jon. Yosep Jugoshvili is the actual name for what famous Soviet dictator? What say you, Jon?
John I believe that's Joseph Stalin.
Ed Vitagliano It is Joseph.
JJ Jasper Way to get us started.
Ed Vitagliano And the name Stalin means, man of steel. So you can see why he. He kind of switched. Switched, names There. Jugozvili. Now, let's go with man of steel.
JJ Jasper Well, you know, in his campaign, when he was running for office, it said, able to leap tall buildings, faster than locomotive.
Tim Wildmon I've often wondered, if you can. If you can fly over the buildings, what's the point in leaping and bounding? Am I the only one?
Ed Vitagliano No, that's a good. That's a good. That's a good question.
Tim Wildmon Just fly.
Ed Vitagliano Why leap? Why leap if you can fly?
Tim Wildmon Point that.
JJ Jasper All right, what's your question for us, Jon?
John Okay. Vince, I'm not going to be able to call in before Veterans Day. I have a question. a military history.
Tim Wildmon All right.
John Of the 3528 Medal of Honor recipients as of today, how many were chaplains?
JJ Jasper Oh, that's a good question.
Ed Vitagliano Good question.
Tim Wildmon what's the question again? What am.
Ed Vitagliano Go ahead, repeat that.
JJ Jasper Jon.
Tim Wildmon Yeah, real quick.
John Okay. Of the 3528 Medal of Honor recipients, how many were chaplains?
JJ Jasper Guys, I'm gonna say zero,
Ed Vitagliano man. I, There's bound to have been some who, you know, like. Go on.
Tim Wildmon How would we ever know that?
Ed Vitagliano Well, we. We would. This is. This is a good question. In Terms.
JJ Jasper Or what about the guy on Rocky Ridge or Mission Ridge or whatever that, you know, didn't carry a weapon, and they made that movie about him, and he carried all those people.
Ed Vitagliano I think he was a medic.
JJ Jasper Medic.
Ed Vitagliano Yeah.
JJ Jasper Yeah, you're right.
Ed Vitagliano I'm going to say. I'm going to say five. I'm going to say there's some that they picked, but I have no idea. Tim, you got a guess? You might as well.
John Yeah.
Tim Wildmon 18.
JJ Jasper All right,
Ed Vitagliano all right, all right.
JJ Jasper Thought put into that one.
Ed Vitagliano Go ahead. What's the answer, Jon?
John Okay, I've got some detail for it, but the answer is nine.
Ed Vitagliano Nine.
John Okay. There were four in the 19th century from the Civil War, and they were all Protestant. And there were five in the 20th century, were Roman Catholic, one in World War II, one in Korea, and three in Vietnam, and one US Navy, and one of them was US Navy, and the others were army in the 20th century.
JJ Jasper I'm glad men of faith were honored. Yeah, Good.
Ed Vitagliano Absolutely.
Tim Wildmon Absolutely. Amen.
JJ Jasper Thank you, Jon.
Ed Vitagliano Jon, absolutely. That's. That. There's no way we were going to come up with the answer to that, but that's. I like that.
JJ Jasper It's good.
Ed Vitagliano Ones who probably risk their lives to, give comfort to, soldiers and, in their last moments, Sailors. Yeah, and sailors. All right, we go to Arkansas, and Bruce is on the line. Bruce, welcome to Trivia Friday.
John Hey, there.
Ed Vitagliano Hey, Bruce, where do you live in Arkansas?
Bruce let's put Calyon on the map.
JJ Jasper Who?
Bruce Carrion. C, A, L, O, N. Talion.
Ed Vitagliano Okay. You know, for some reason, I'm kind of partial to that name. Italian. You know, we went to Italian. We went to Italian restaurant yesterday.
JJ Jasper Yes, I see what you did there.
Ed Vitagliano All right.
JJ Jasper Hey, where are you? What. What bigger city are you near? So we can kind of get our bearings?
John You ever heard of El Dorado?
JJ Jasper Yes, sir.
John Yeah, just about 12 miles north.
JJ Jasper Okay.
Tim Wildmon Of El Dorado.
Ed Vitagliano Good.
Tim Wildmon So,
Ed Vitagliano All right, Bruce, you want to ask, answer or do both, sir.
John I'd like to do both.
Ed Vitagliano All right, which one you want to try to answer?
John You know, I was going to answer the one about Stalin, so. But there's some more I can answer, but I can't remember which ones.
Tim Wildmon All right, well, you know, have.
John Ed.
Tim Wildmon Yeah, go ahead.
Ed Vitagliano What now?
JJ Jasper What else did you have?
Ed Vitagliano What else did I have? All right, two. Two additional questions. I'll add one after the break when we redo our questions, reset them. So I have, number one, what city is called the Eternal City?
John That Rome.
Ed Vitagliano Okay. It Is. It's.
JJ Jasper Nicely done. Hey, way to go, Bruce.
Tim Wildmon Rome is the eternal city. that's what they call it. how'd you know that?
John I just. That's just, you just.
Tim Wildmon Somewhere back there.
John Just something. Yeah, man.
Tim Wildmon Somewhere back there.
JJ Jasper You picked it up alongside the way channeling is inner. Rand McNally.
Tim Wildmon Yeah.
JJ Jasper Hey, Bruce, what's your. What's your question for us?
John Do you know what a tonsorial artist is? A.
JJ Jasper who?
John Tonsorial artist.
JJ Jasper There's a deal. There's people that paint just about everything. Butterflies, they paint landscapes. But there's a unique group of artists that. I'll tell you. Open wide. They got the tiny little palette and a tiny little, paintbrush, and they're. They paint the tonsils of people before they get them taken out. Then they got a little memento to remember their experience by. It's a niche. It's a niche, kind of a thing, but they're. Everybody's got their place in.
John In a.
JJ Jasper In life.
Tim Wildmon Right?
Ed Vitagliano How you come up with that stuff, right off the top of your head?
Tim Wildmon That's like a calling.
Ed Vitagliano It absolutely is.
JJ Jasper Be a tonsil painter.
Ed Vitagliano Open wide.
JJ Jasper Yes, that's a calling. Hey, we have no idea. Obviously.
Ed Vitagliano I got an idea.
JJ Jasper Oh, do it. Say it.
Ed Vitagliano I think it's. Do you have a.
Tim Wildmon Well, what's a question again? Bruce, real quick.
John What is a tonsorial artist?
Tim Wildmon Go ahead, Ian.
Ed Vitagliano I think it's. I think it's a barber.
John Gosh, Ed, you got that one right.
JJ Jasper He's smarter than a chicken.
Tim Wildmon Explain this one to me. where do we get.
Ed Vitagliano Because all I remember is tonsorial parlor.
Tim Wildmon Yeah.
Ed Vitagliano And so I was just guessing.
John It would.
Ed Vitagliano Tonsorial artist would be the.
JJ Jasper But how did you remember tonsorial parlor? Because I've never heard that in my entire life.
Ed Vitagliano I've heard of it. I don't know where I've heard of it. I think I've seen it on West Westerns.
JJ Jasper I've seen the little barber pole with the stripes going around.
Ed Vitagliano All right, can you fill in some gaps here, Bruce?
John I was just reading obituaries on, findagrave.com and they talked about a tonsoural artist. I had to look it up.
Ed Vitagliano Okay.
JJ Jasper Hey, you need to get cable tv, Bruce, because that's. That's reading. Oh. Bits on Find the Grave. I'm worried about you, buddy. We never have even met.
John You need to worry about me because Ed is the one I thought would get that if anybody did.
JJ Jasper Well, y' all are kids.
Ed Vitagliano I have useful Useless information stored.
Tim Wildmon All right, actually, actually there, that, that, if you want to. I did some. I had to use that to find my grandparents.
Ed Vitagliano Oh, you.
JJ Jasper Seriously, you shared a little bit of that in devotion one morning.
Tim Wildmon It's pretty cool. though, website and, I don't know if that's. Maybe there's more than one, but you can go and look up where people, you know, laid to rest.
JJ Jasper yeah.
Tim Wildmon I didn't know that a lot of
JJ Jasper them have pictures, but I, I still think, Bruce, if you don't have a dog, you need to get one. Or maybe a hobby. Hunting season's coming up. I'm just.
Ed Vitagliano That's just me some options, Bruce.
Tim Wildmon Scrolling Internet. What are you looking at?
JJ Jasper What are y' all doing this weekend?
Tim Wildmon I'm on Graveyard, dot com.
JJ Jasper Hey, Bruce, thanks for being a good sport. Have a great weekend.
Ed Vitagliano Yeah, that was rough on him.
Tim Wildmon Yeah. Let's take a break a little early here. we'll come back and reset our
Ed Vitagliano questions that have heretofore, On the actual answer. Hey, are you going anywhere? This, coming up?
JJ Jasper Well, the, two weeks I'll be in Campbellsville, Kentucky. Hope Pregnancy Resource Center. This will be the third time they've had me come, so. Special treat for them. I'm bringing my son Bode with me.
Ed Vitagliano Oh, good, good.
JJ Jasper Yeah, it's. Well, my wife and girls think I'm crazy for doing that. The two of us on a road trip all alone. But, I think it's going to be a blessing for everybody all the way around. All right.
Tim Wildmon Okay. We're going to take a short time out right here. We'll come back and reset our questions right here on Learning University. Learning University is on the air.

Don Wildmon Here is your host for My Turn, Don Wileman. Let me tell you the story of two men by the name of Jon Anybody and Jim Somebody. Now, Jon Anybody lived to a ripe old age and died. He went to heaven and applied as a candidate for residency in that place. St. Peter was questioning Jon Anybody about himself. In the course of the conversation, Mr. Anybody asked St. Peter what kind of people lived in heaven? Well, what kind of people lived in a town where you lived on Earth? St. Peter asked Mr. Anybody, turning the question back to him. Oh, the town I lived in wasn't a good town to live in at all. The people weren't friendly, they were stingy, they weren't good neighbors. I just didn't like living in that town at all. That's the reason I ask you what kind of people live up here? If it is the same kind of people, I would just as soon go to the other place, Mr. Anybody replied. Well, I hate to tell you this, said St. Peter, but the same kind of people live up here as lived in your town on earth. If that's the case, replied Mr. Anybody, you can count me out. I want no part of a place like the place I lived in on earth. And with that, Mr. Anybody turned and walked away. As he was leaving, he happened to meet Mr. Jim somebody, who was on his way to talk to St. Peter about living in heaven. Not any need of going in there. Mr. Anybody told Mr. Somebody. People in there are, ah, just like they were on earth. They aren't worth living with. Mr. Somebody thanked him for the advice, but stated that he wanted to check it out for himself. When Mr. Somebody got to the gate, he began talking with St. Peter. What kind of people live up here? Mr. Somebody asked St. Peter. The fellow I passed on the road said they weren't fit to live with. Again, St. Peter did not answer his question directly, but with another. What kind of people lived in a town where you lived on Earth? St. Peter asked Mr. Somebody. Oh, they were fine people. They were friendly, they were generous and helpful. Real good neighbors. I really enjoyed living in the town where I lived on earth, Mr. Somebody said in reply to St. Peter's question. Well, said St. Peter, the same kind of people live up here. Excellent, claimed Mr. Somebody. How about opening the gates and letting me in? And St. Peter did open the gates, and Mr. Somebody promptly entered heaven. Well, that's the story of Mr. Jon anybody and Mr. Jim somebody. Both of them asked St. Peter the same question. And St. Peter asked both of them the same question. But St. Peter received two completely different answers from the two men. Mr. Somebody went to heaven and Mr. Anybody went to. Well, Mr. Anybody just didn't go to heaven, but it was of his own free choice that he did not go to heaven. Oh, oh, I nearly forgot to tell you. Mr. Anybody and Mr. Somebody lived in the same town anywhere. Earth.
John This has been my turn with Don
Tim Wildmon Wildmon, a production of the American Family Association.
JJ Jasper And my father, your great grandfather,
Don Wildmon fought in World War II.
JJ Jasper Really?
Don Wildmon He was a gunner on the big ship out in the Pacific Ocean.
JJ Jasper Wow.
Don Wildmon Your great grandmother did her part, too.
JJ Jasper Was she on a ship? Oh, no, she stayed back home.
Don Wildmon She and a lot of her friends
JJ Jasper worked really hard in a factory because
Ed Vitagliano the men had gone off to war
Don Wildmon and they held scrap metal drives to help in the war effort.
JJ Jasper The folks back home were heroes, too.
Ed Vitagliano Here at the American Family association, we consider you the heroes back home as you fulfill your responsibility of caring for
Tim Wildmon your family day to day.
Ed Vitagliano Your partnership with us is crucial as we fight the enemies of freedom in America. Thank you for your commitment to the American Family Association.
JJ Jasper Grandpa, what's a scrap metal drive?
Don Wildmon Let's get some cookies and I'll tell you all about it.
JJ Jasper Yes.
Ed Vitagliano My soul find rest in God.
JJ Jasper My hope comes from Him.
Tim Wildmon Truly, he is my rock and my salvation.
Ed Vitagliano He is my fortress.
JJ Jasper I will not be shaken. Psalm 62, 5, 6.
Tim Wildmon Welcome back, everybody, to Trivia Friday on American Family Radio. Tim, Ed and jj. JJ had a Sanford, son question. So they're playing their theme.
JJ Jasper Yeah, you feel bad when you do something wrong and it results in an email going out to everybody. You feel good when you have such a good question that the song comes from it. I've got a Fred, Sanford, or actually a Red Fox question.
Tim Wildmon All right, let's, repeat our questions, then we'll go back to the phones.
Ed Vitagliano Before we get to that, I think you forgot to do the date for where you're at you're going.
JJ Jasper I mentioned I'll be there in a couple of weeks. I did forget that. Campbellsville, Kentucky. Hope Pregnancy Center. It is Friday the 3rd, November. Friday the 13th. So obviously not one single person in Campbellsville superstitious or like one of my daughters said, I'm not superstitious. I'm just a little stitches.
Ed Vitagliano A little.
JJ Jasper Yeah. Hey, so November, 13th. Friday, November 13th, you're invited. Campbellsville, Kentucky, Friday the 13th.
Ed Vitagliano Yes.
JJ Jasper All right.
Tim Wildmon I want to say, Clarence and Marie from, Chickamauga. I think I mispronounced that. Georgia. It's right south of Chattanooga. They came by and visited us here earlier this morning.
JJ Jasper Nice couple.
Tim Wildmon Yep. And we, we welcome folks to come visit us here. If you're in the area passing through. we're in Tupelo, Mississippi. American Family Radio Studios. But you gotta let us know you're coming.
Ed Vitagliano You just go to afa.net and, one of those drop down menus, I think where it says more or contact us. I forget which one it is.
Tim Wildmon More or less.
Ed Vitagliano More or less?
Tim Wildmon Yeah.
Ed Vitagliano Anyway, you drop down, it will say visits. and then you got to fill something out because if you're running from the law, we, we will turn you in.
Tim Wildmon Right. And we don't want it. Yeah, that's right. We want to make sure our offices are open. When you come back, you do too. So there you go. What's a website for that?
Ed Vitagliano All right.
Tim Wildmon Afa.net afa.net alright, repeat your questions.
Ed Vitagliano I'm about to add two questions.
Tim Wildmon You had them.
JJ Jasper You've been on fire, buddy.
Ed Vitagliano Yeah, I've had. Maybe they're too easy, I don't know. Here, here's my original, one of my originals that's remaining. Massachusetts is the state that has produced the most US Presidents. Is that true or false? And I'm going to add another Massachusetts question. Who is the last, I said the last US President from Massachusetts. Who is the last US President from Massachusetts? And then third question. I have a Bible question here. And ah, and this is tip of the hat to Jon. in Luke 4, Jesus preached in his hometown of Nazareth. What was the scripture he preached out of? It says he opened up the scrolls. In Luke 4, Jesus preached in his hometown of Nazareth. What was the scripture? Obviously the Old Testament scripture he preached out of.
JJ Jasper Here's what I've got. First question, a Bible question. After King Solomon's death, which of his sons inherited the throne? After King Solomon's death, which of his sons became king? Second question. Who are the Mario brothers usually trying to save who are the Mario brothers usually trying to save the day? A lot of people, yelling out the answer right there. They played some video games. Third question, true or false. Comedian Redd Fox's real last name was Sanford, as in Sanford and Son. Is that true or false? His stage name, Red Fox. He took Red because he, had reddish hair and he took Fox after a baseball player he admired. Jimmy Foxx.
Ed Vitagliano Oh yeah.
JJ Jasper I don't know if you guys remember. So you remember Jimmy Fo I, I,
Ed Vitagliano he played before my time. I do remember the name.
JJ Jasper Yeah.
Tim Wildmon He's down the, down the block.
Ed Vitagliano Did Jimmy Foxx.
Tim Wildmon Yeah. Where, where we lived on. But that was what, so he
Ed Vitagliano was before my time. But he lived down the block.
Tim Wildmon That may have been a different one. You know, there's Jimmy Foxes everywhere. Am I right?
Ed Vitagliano Well, Jimmy crack horn and I don't care.
Tim Wildmon You don't care?
Ed Vitagliano I don't care a bit.
JJ Jasper Oh yeah. So Tim, you're up.
Tim Wildmon Oh, I'm up. Okay, sir. All right. What are the three most widely used yard grasses in the US And I'm disqualified. Field grass, or, I don't care, grass, whatever you want to call it. I'm talking about people who actually put these kinds of grass in their. In their. To make their lawn on purpose. On purpose. Number two, how do dogs primarily sweat?
Ed Vitagliano Not how they secondarily sweat. We're talking about primarily.
Tim Wildmon There is a secondary action.
Ed Vitagliano I know you do, though.
Tim Wildmon Okay, yeah, the primary. Primary. The. Good point, Ed. and finally, what is the origin of the expression showing their true colors? What's the origin?
Ed Vitagliano Good questions.
Tim Wildmon We all. We all use that expression and, you know, sometimes, and we, But we don't know where that came from. Where did that come from?
JJ Jasper Yeah. Love those rainbow questions.
Tim Wildmon Who's next? All right, who's next? Ed?
Ed Vitagliano we're going back to Arkansas.
Tim Wildmon Really?
Ed Vitagliano Some of these other states. Y' all better step it up. Steven from Arkansas. Steven, welcome to Trivia Friday.
John Good morning, gentlemen and scholars.
Tim Wildmon Well, thank you, Steven.
Ed Vitagliano scholars.
John Yes.
JJ Jasper Thank you for your honesty.
John And J.J.
Ed Vitagliano oh, so I see you.
Tim Wildmon He waited on that one to deliver. Deliver the kick.
JJ Jasper Honesty is the best policy. What part of Arkansas?
John Well, I'm gonna put a town on the map called Amity.
JJ Jasper Amity?
Tim Wildmon Yeah. Like, that's where that.
John We live in a suburb. We live in a suburb from Amity called Alpine. So we're between Glenwood and Arkadelphia.
JJ Jasper Okay.
John All right.
Tim Wildmon So that horror movie was made. Do you remember that?
Ed Vitagliano I was. Okay, now, I'm not talking about the Amityville Horror. I'm gonna give you, Steven, right out of the blue here. It's got nothing to do with Ask or answer. If you can name the movie, the Stephen Spielberg movie that uses the town that uses the name Amity, I'm going to send you a T shirt.
JJ Jasper Wow.
Ed Vitagliano There's a very, very famous Stephen, Spielberg movie where the main town was named Amity.
JJ Jasper A lot of pressure, Steve.
Ed Vitagliano You can. If you can. If you can name it that. And. And. And, Tim just wrote it on
Tim Wildmon M. Yeah, yeah, I got it. Right, Steven. So see if you can,
JJ Jasper I did. I. I can tell you. I don't know.
Tim Wildmon I got it right now. From Mississippi. Why don't you. Arkansas man. I try to answer that.
JJ Jasper I don't watch many movies. I spend my time looking at the graveyard.com thing on the weekends.
Tim Wildmon Give Steven a shot here.
Ed Vitagliano Go ahead, Steven.
John Well, I'm gonna go out on limb I think I've heard that.
Ed Vitagliano what's the name?
Tim Wildmon No, he's right.
Ed Vitagliano What's the name of the movie, though, Stephen?
Tim Wildmon That's Jaws.
JJ Jasper Hey, you just won you a T shirt, buddy.
Tim Wildmon You're gonna need a bigger boat.
Ed Vitagliano Amity. Amity is, the name of the town. You're gonna need a bigger.
JJ Jasper Hey, you know, that was that. They just threw that in there. That wasn't pretty cool.
John I love it. Well, very good. All right. Very much. I'm a winner already.
Ed Vitagliano You are a winner before you got on the show, Steven, but you're even more of a winner now.
John All right.
Ed Vitagliano Ask, answer, or do both, sir.
John That's right. Well, I'm gonna do both. I tried to get my son to call in. He was born, his name is Kellen. He was born just a few miles from y' all at the North Mississippi Medical center there in Tupelo.
JJ Jasper Oh, wow.
Ed Vitagliano Okay.
Tim Wildmon Yeah, that's 10 minutes from us.
JJ Jasper That's where Tim was born 20 years ago.
John So. Yep, 19 years ago, we adopted him.
JJ Jasper Wonderful.
Tim Wildmon Awesome.
John Yes, sir.
Tim Wildmon What a good pro life. Pro life story.
John That's right. That's right. Well, let's do both.
Ed Vitagliano All right, which one you want to answer?
John I'm gonna do that. Well, you know, being from Arkansas, I'll do the 50. 50. True, false with the. With the Massachusetts, one.
Ed Vitagliano All right, here's the question, Steven. Massachusetts is the state asking if you can spell Massachusetts. He can spell Massachusetts.
JJ Jasper No. So if he can't spell it, we're going to take,
Ed Vitagliano you picked on Arkansas enough.
Tim Wildmon He's googling it right now.
John Massachusetts build character.
Ed Vitagliano Yes,
Tim Wildmon a good one, Steven.
Ed Vitagliano Massachusetts is the state that has produced the most US Presidents. Is that true or false, Steven?
John It's. It sounded convincing, but I'm going to go false.
Ed Vitagliano M. It's false. It is false.
JJ Jasper I would be Kenny Fossil.
Tim Wildmon Virginia.
Ed Vitagliano Virginia. Virginia with eight.
John Okay.
JJ Jasper Ohio.
Ed Vitagliano Say Ohio with seven. NewSong York with five. That's the top three.
JJ Jasper What are the top three? Virginia.
Ed Vitagliano Virginia with eight, Ohio with seven, NewSong York with five. Massachusetts is, not in the top three. Even so. So that was a guess. Just a 50. 50.
John Good guess. Yeah, unfortunately, Arkansas had one.
Ed Vitagliano Unfortunately. Yeah. All right, what's your question for us, Steven?
John Okay, we all know, we've all heard it, the. The shortest verse in the Bible. What is the longest verse in the Bible?
Ed Vitagliano We've had this one, too, and I just can't remember.
Tim Wildmon It's been a while.
JJ Jasper is it in Revelation or. Or Daniel? Now, I know we've had it in the Bible. All right, we don't, we don't know. Steven, what's the longest verse?
John According to my, my sources, I did a six month government grant and got good man. I did, Esther. Esther, 8 and 9 is what I came up with.
Ed Vitagliano I think that's right. I think now that you've mentioned it, we did have that.
Tim Wildmon Esther, chapter eight, verse nine.
Ed Vitagliano Yes.
John Okay. Yeah. Esther, eight, eight and nine. And then also Esther is the only book that doesn't mention God's name.
Ed Vitagliano That's right.
John In the Bible, so. Well, gentlemen, I really appreciate it. Yes, sir.
Ed Vitagliano Steven, don't go anywhere. I'm going to put you on hold. Sandy Roberts will get, get your information and we'll send you a, Learning University T shirt. So, we're proudly. Well, thank you, buddy. Sir. Well done.
Tim Wildmon Who's next? Ed?
Ed Vitagliano All right, we're going to Louisiana and Lillian is on the line. Lillian, welcome to Trivia for Friday.
John Well, thank you. Well, you're sure my first time calling in.
Ed Vitagliano Well, congratulations, you got through. Where do you live in Louisiana?
John I live in a town you probably never heard of. It's called Lacasse.
Ed Vitagliano Lacasse.
John It's between Lake Charles and Lafayette.
JJ Jasper Well, I know you can find some boudin etouffee, whole lot of crawfish there.
John Cracklings. Yeah. Yeah.
Ed Vitagliano Lillian, I at one time had to go into the hospital for a couple of days because I had a lack of scene. And they had, they had to pump me. They had to pump me full of scene because my scene levels were so low.
JJ Jasper I had a dangerously low.
Ed Vitagliano That's pretty bad. That was pretty bad. That wasn't bad.
Tim Wildmon Nobody knows what tomorrow holds, right?
Ed Vitagliano That's right.
Tim Wildmon You'd be driving along, doing fine, and all of a sudden your laxative starts fluctuating.
JJ Jasper Yeah.
Tim Wildmon You call home?
Ed Vitagliano Yeah.
Tim Wildmon He. Honey. Mama, I don't care what your problem is. You stop by Walmart. Don't give me your laxative issues. All right, you know what? I know where you are because I was down there recently in Lafayette. Right. So you're between Lafayette. You were. You're. You're on. is that I 10?
John Yes, sir.
Tim Wildmon Yeah, between Lafayette and, Well, yes, and Lake Charles.
JJ Jasper That's good.
Ed Vitagliano He does know where you are.
JJ Jasper I think you guys call it Lafayette, don't you, Lillian?
John We do. We do.
JJ Jasper You want to ask answer or do both, dear.
Tim Wildmon Well, I said.
John Well, I'd like to answer.
JJ Jasper Which one you want to answer?
John I want to ask one about the dog and, cooling.
Tim Wildmon All right. Lillian, here we go. the question is, how do dogs primarily sweat?
John Oh, that was it. Yes. Sweat. They. They pant and their tongues hang out.
Tim Wildmon That is close. incorrect.
Ed Vitagliano Really?
JJ Jasper Yeah.
John Okay.
Tim Wildmon Yeah, but that's a good guess.
JJ Jasper That's part of it.
Tim Wildmon That's what I thought, too, but, that was.
Ed Vitagliano I did. I thought that my whole life.
Tim Wildmon So you're not. You're disqualified from vet school, Lillian. Sorry. But that was a good guess.
John At least I got in.
Tim Wildmon That's right. You know, we all see the dog panning with their tongue hanging out. You go. And that's how they're sweating. That's how they're. But actually, that's how they cool off, actually. That's right. That's right, that's right.
Ed Vitagliano Oh, okay. Interesting.
Tim Wildmon Anyway, so.
John All right.
Ed Vitagliano What's your question for us, Lillian?
John I'm not gonna ask. Okay.
Ed Vitagliano All right.
JJ Jasper Thank you for listening to afr. You have a great weekend.
Tim Wildmon Let me ask you one thing, though, Lily, before you go. So, if we come to your area, what's the best thing to go see? what's a tourist spot? A spot to go see.
John Well, it. That would be. Well, either Lafayette or Lake Charles. They. They have a lot of things to see. I'm not going to mention anything about, casinos, but,
Tim Wildmon Right. Oh, so you got casinos there. Which one's the best?
John Blackjack.
JJ Jasper No.
Tim Wildmon If you go, like, sit down.
JJ Jasper No, no, no.
Tim Wildmon I'm not advocating for that. I'm just saying if you did that, what would you be the most.
JJ Jasper No, no. Hey, look. It'. Paradise. So we know you guys have a lot of places.
John There's a lot of duck hunting.
JJ Jasper Yes.
John There's a lot of duck hunting. And there's a lot of nature trails.
Tim Wildmon Yes. I'm just kidding about, you know, going to sit and gamble your life away. Oh, cool. what we did when we were in Lafayette. Did, you say Lafayette?
JJ Jasper Lafayette.
Tim Wildmon My bad. Anyway, when we were in Lafayette, we went out to this, place.
John Ah.
Tim Wildmon Where you can get. Get in a boat and go see alligators and such wildlife.
John Oh, yes. Go down there. Chapel. Aya.
Tim Wildmon Yes. A lot of the. There you can do. There's several of them. Anyway.
Ed Vitagliano Why did you do that?
Tim Wildmon Why we do that? Just to experience Louisiana at its finest, dad.
Ed Vitagliano Yeah, no, I. There's plenty of things, to experience Louisiana. Why would you want to go look at things that could eat you?
Tim Wildmon That's what I could. I stayed in the boat.
Ed Vitagliano What could go wrong?
JJ Jasper There's a deal. My Uncle Freddy he, went to one of them things. Well, they call him One Arm Freddy, but it was one of them that you could wrestle an all to buy money. To wrestle alligator, is risky.
Tim Wildmon We're in the boat. It was Lake Martin is where it was, if you ever heard of that.
John Beautiful.
Tim Wildmon Yeah, Lake Martin, that's where we were. That's where we went out and saw the alligator.
Ed Vitagliano Braver man than I am. Gun.
Tim Wildmon All right, thank you very much, Lillian. You're listening to Trivia Friday on American Family Radio. Tim, Ed and jj. You ever done that, jj?
JJ Jasper No. I was going to say, a while back, you showed me a thing where you are in one of those, airplane airboats. I like to do that.
Tim Wildmon Okay. That's down to Everglades.
JJ Jasper Yeah, you got to have ear muffs on, and, man, those things just go across those marshy waters.
Tim Wildmon We had to go to some event down in Miami area. So, Allison, I said, hey, ever since Gentle Bend, I've always, always wanted to ride on one of those airboats. And so we went out, the Everglades. Took us about an hour. And you can get on a boat and they take you riding out, and you go see the alligators out in the Everglades. It's pretty cool. And, so anyway, you're listening to, Trivia Friday on American Family Radio. I'm Tim with Ed and jj. Tim, Ed and jj. And you're listening, this is also called Learning University. Who's next? Ed?
Ed Vitagliano All right, we go to Georgia, and Bill is on the line. Bill, welcome to Trivia Friday.
John Hey, how y' all doing, Bill?
Tim Wildmon We're doing great, my friend. How you doing?
John I'm doing good. Doing good. I'm glad I got on. Glad I got on.
Tim Wildmon Where. Where are you from in, Georgia Black here.
John Georgia.
JJ Jasper That's here. Good area.
Tim Wildmon JJ's been there.
JJ Jasper I have. Hey, and I'm going to be in Georgia two or three different times next spring.
Ed Vitagliano Oh, okay.
JJ Jasper Spring and summer.
Ed Vitagliano Excellent.
John Good, good.
JJ Jasper Sylvester, Georgia is one of the places. I don't know if you know where that is.
John It's about, 90 miles from me.
JJ Jasper Okay, well, maybe you can. It's worth the drive.
Ed Vitagliano Yeah, that's right.
Tim Wildmon So they say.
JJ Jasper yep.
Tim Wildmon Bill, go ahead. Ask or answer.
Ed Vitagliano Or both.
John I'm gonna try to do both.
Tim Wildmon All right.
John All right.
Tim Wildmon And which, one do you want to answer?
John the one about the yard grass I'm gonna just take. And I'm from the south now, so I may not get it right.
Tim Wildmon I tell you What? This is not an easy question. We're gonna send you a learning university T shirt, if you can get this one right. Bill, because it's not an easy question.
JJ Jasper Bill, you're from Georgia, planting your whole yard in peanuts. Don't. Don't go there. We're talking about sod. We're talking about perennial. We're talking about grass seed.
Tim Wildmon All right, to reset the question.
John Go ahead.
Tim Wildmon Let me reset the question here for those who are new listening. The question that Bill's gonna answer is, what are the three most widely used yard grasses in the U.S. obviously, we're not talking about field grass or whatever JJ called it, or crabgrass. I'm talking about you. You intentionally plant this kind of grass to make your yard or your lawn. What's the answer? The three most popular.
John let's go with Centipede, St. Augustine and Bermuda.
JJ Jasper You got two of the three.
Tim Wildmon Bermuda's right.
JJ Jasper That's only one.
Tim Wildmon That's one of the three. Yep, yep. What did you say? San Augustine grass. That's most. Yeah, yeah, that's Florida and Georgia.
JJ Jasper Yeah, that's way down there.
Tim Wildmon but, yeah, I tell you what, I'll give you one more chance to get these two.
JJ Jasper Which one did he get? Right.
John He.
Tim Wildmon He got Bermuda.
JJ Jasper Okay.
Tim Wildmon Yeah.
John they didn't give me no chance because that's almost any yard grass I can think of.
JJ Jasper Somebody else you need to get out.
Tim Wildmon Out more and explore there. You're right, because there are more grasses than just BERMUDA and. And St. Augustine, but, you know, expand
John your world told me the same thing.
JJ Jasper Yeah, well, she's trying. Hey, she's trying to get you to take her on Alaskan cruise. That's what's going on.
Tim Wildmon Where they don't have any Bermuda at all, up there anyway. Go ahead. What's your question for us, Bill?
John this is. This is gonna be a simple one. If I can get it. If I can get it asked right. All right. What are the two most important things a person can do? The first one is in, implies the people in, All over the world. All over the world. What's the most important thing they can do today? And the second question is. This is just. Applies to the people in the United States. What's the most important thing they do the next two or three weeks?
Ed Vitagliano Okay.
JJ Jasper Okay. One is to get saved to make sure you're. You're right with the Lord. And then number two is voting in the midterms. Yeah.
John Who am I speaking with?
Ed Vitagliano Jj.
John Jj. You got it. I'm m gonna send you a T shirt.
JJ Jasper I'll wear it. Send me one with a big peach on it.
Ed Vitagliano That's right.
JJ Jasper Bill, thank you for having a heart, for sharing the gospel. Everybody, everywhere, the most, important decision you'll ever make. Realize your need for God, repent of your sins and receive Jesus Christ in your heart and life by faith so you can go to heaven when you die. And we really don't know. This may be your last day on earth. You absolutely want to get right with the Lord, get right with God. Thank you, Bill, for having a, heart for the. Hey, socialism, is on the ballot. Hard to believe all the crazy things with Texas, Michigan being so close. The fellow in Texas believes there are six genders and all that trans stuff. Please pray for our country. Don't give up and vote yes.
Tim Wildmon I say vote. Vote early and and often. Why is there?
John Huh?
Ed Vitagliano that's because, again, you usually say because that's what the other side does.
Tim Wildmon The other side does. We need to outvote them. So if they vote three times, we vote four. That's, that's the attitude we need to take?
Ed Vitagliano Yes.
John Am I right?
Ed Vitagliano Is that official? Is that official AFA policy?
Tim Wildmon No. No, it's not. No, it's not. Before somebody visits our offices. Going to three letter agency.
Ed Vitagliano It's just a yoke. Just a yoke.
Tim Wildmon All right, let's repeat our questions. That way we don't have to after the or, do you want to take a call first?
JJ Jasper Let's take a call because people will forget between now and five minutes from now if they're baby boomers. What I come in the kitchen for? I came in here and I don't remember why.
Ed Vitagliano All right, let's go to Kentucky. And Jim is on the line. Jim, welcome M to Trivia Friday.
John What did I just say? What did I just say?
Ed Vitagliano Oh, Jim, I'd be careful. You're on national radio.
Don Wildmon Yeah.
Ed Vitagliano Jim, can you hear me?
John Yeah, I can hear you.
Ed Vitagliano All right. Jim, welcome. What now?
John I said we're from Kentucky here.
JJ Jasper Yes, sir.
Ed Vitagliano Hey, you want to ask answer or do both? Jim?
John Must do answer to both of them.
Ed Vitagliano All right, which one you want to try to answer?
John Let's try the grass issue.
Tim Wildmon Okay, Jim, Bermuda is already one of the guesses, so you know that one. But what are the two other. What are the three? The question is, what are the three most widely used lawn grasses in the
John U.S. i'm gonna say, fescue and bluegrass and bermuda.
Tim Wildmon There you go, wow. Yeah.
JJ Jasper Now, you know where bluegrass. Jim and I know all about some bluegrass.
Tim Wildmon It's called Kentucky.
John We know a little bit about that.
JJ Jasper We know about.
Tim Wildmon So how did you know that, Jim? How'd you know that?
John Because I do a lot of yard work.
Tim Wildmon Oh, okay. Well, that's good.
Ed Vitagliano Come by.
Tim Wildmon I. I don't. I think Bermuda would. Bermuda has a lot of variations, by the way.
JJ Jasper Yes. A lot of people with horses. That's the best grass for horses.
Tim Wildmon Bermuda is.
JJ Jasper Yeah. And they call it Bermuda around here. Country folks say Bermuda.
Tim Wildmon Yeah. And then Kentucky bluegrass.
JJ Jasper Kentucky bluegrass and fescue can make a nice lawn. Or it's also used for hay. It's a real good grass for cows.
Tim Wildmon Tall fescue.
JJ Jasper Tall fescue.
Tim Wildmon What they call them. So anyway, though, Ed, did you. Did you ever.
Ed Vitagliano I did not. I've heard of all three of those, but I did not know those are the top three.
JJ Jasper I've tried to be creative. I've got a nice little selection of dandelions and crabgrass in my yard. Mix it up. It's a nice spice of life, spice of the lawn.
Tim Wildmon Crabgrass. That's field grass, right? That's just. Oh, that's the.
JJ Jasper I think. Just wait.
Tim Wildmon Yeah. Those are fun. Yeah.
JJ Jasper Jim, you got a question for us?
John I sure do. you guys any, math, experts?
JJ Jasper Ed is.
Ed Vitagliano I'm not a math expert. No. Hey, I'll tell you what. Hold on. Hold on. Jim, can you hold on for five minutes? We have a break coming up.
Tim Wildmon Hey, watch this.
Ed Vitagliano And the news.
Tim Wildmon Jim's from Kentucky, right?
Ed Vitagliano Yeah.
Tim Wildmon Jim.
John Yes.
Tim Wildmon Can you hold your horses?
Ed Vitagliano Hey.
John Oh, man.
Tim Wildmon You see what he did?
Ed Vitagliano Oh, yeah, I see it.
Tim Wildmon He's from Kentucky.
Ed Vitagliano I got it.
John I got it.
Tim Wildmon Yeah, I just came up with that.
Ed Vitagliano Like that off the top of your head?
Tim Wildmon Off the top of my head, yeah.
John Oh, Jim.
Tim Wildmon Jim. Ho. Your Kentucky Derby horses.
Ed Vitagliano That's good.
John All.
Tim Wildmon right, we're gonna take a break right here.
Ed Vitagliano We'll be back with Jim, and then we'll reset our questions.
Tim Wildmon We will set. Reset our questions. So hang on, folks. We'll be back momentarily. The views and opinions expressed in this broadcast may not necessarily reflect those of
JJ Jasper the American Family association or American Family Radio.
Tim Wildmon This is Trivia Friday.
Ed Vitagliano The number to call with your question
Tim Wildmon or your answer to a question is 888-589-8840.
