Kevin Freeman: Pirate Money Radio kicks off with reflections on the past year
Kevin Freeman: Hey. As we wrap up another year, it's always good to take stock. A wise man once told me, if you want to achieve your goals, you need to know three things. One, where you are. Two, how you got here. And three, where are you going? In this episode of Pirate Money Radio, we'll be answering each of the three questions with an eye towards 2026. What a great time to be alive. Despite the numerous challenges and the tragedies of the past year. How can I say it was a straight face? The answer is first and foremost, the Lord Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, seated on the throne of eternity, far above all rule and authority, kingdom and power. And we know that his return is closer than ever before. And his power is available to all believers today who stand ready to take his love to a hurting and dying world. We have the answer, and we're empowered to give it freely to desperate men and women who need Jesus now. Whether Jesus comes back tomorrow in 2026 or 1000 years from now, it matters not. We're blessed to be alive now. And I'm grateful for the nation in which we live. For all her flaws, America is still a beautiful land of promise and liberty. A uni experiment in time, a republic. If we can keep her. As Ben Franklin once, stated, we almost lost that liberty, but we have a chance, if we take it, to pass liberty to our children and our children's children. You're saying we have a chance? Yes. I'm also exceedingly grateful for my family, especially my life partner and mother of our children, the amazing Marnie, who has joined me in the studio today. Welcome, Marnie.
Marnie Freeman: Thank m you for having me again. I love being here. I love being with you.
Kevin Freeman: I love being with you, too. And that's been true for three decades we've been together, and I'm grateful for that. And when this first airs just before Christmas week, we have a lot of things to reflect on from the past year. It's been quite a year.
Marnie Freeman: A lot. We won't even get to all of them.
I remember those first hundred days of the Trump administration
Kevin Freeman: All right, so let's go randomly. There's tragedy, there's triumph, there's bad, there's good, there's ugly, there's beautiful. what comes to mind for you this year?
Marnie Freeman: Well, because we kind of live there. Politics and how it affects the rest of the world and the Trump inauguration and. And all of that that that has come about and the whirlwind it's been. And the upheaval it's been. But it's also been good.
Kevin Freeman: Yeah, no, it's been a lot of upheaval. I remember those first hundred days of the Trump administration. You know, they talk about the first hundred days. Well, BBC picked up on it, said the rapid remaking of a nation in 100 days. I think it was the most impactful hundred days of any president I have seen or read about.
Marnie Freeman: Right. And you know, I, I don't think people get to hear hardly any of it. There's so much he's doing behind the scenes that people don't know. All the incredible stuff that he is actually doing. I know, as you know, people get upset with his personality, but he's doing amazing things.
Kevin Freeman: And you know who has noticed, though? Bill Maher has noticed. He says, why are you worried about the ballroom? He said, why do Democrats sit there and worry about, so what? The White House is going to add a ballroom. Why has that m been made the top headline?
Marnie Freeman: But every president or his first, lady has added something. They've always changed, added, done something. And no one's thrown a fit about it.
Kevin Freeman: No, but they're throwing a fit about this because it's Trump derangement syndrome. And you're right, we're missing behind the scenes. No, they'll pull out the things that they think look bad. For example, Maha upending settled science. I can tell you, a lot of moms, you call them soccer moms or whatever, have studied because mama bears, they've studied the Internet and they've realized that, you know, there's a lot of science that we're not told about. The doctor, Oh, no, it's good for you. Just do this. Some of that's not really all that good for you. And Maha's upended the vaccine schedule. I think that is one of the momentous things of this past year.
Marnie Freeman: Right. Removing the hb, the hep B. Hep B for newborns.
Kevin Freeman: Oh, yeah. You told me you're sitting there in the hospital, our baby's taken away from us to go get shots and looked at.
Marnie Freeman: And the drops in the eyes.
Kevin Freeman: And you look at me and you say, you go with her and you make sure she does not. I had a knockdown drag out with the nurse over that because hep B is only necessary for, well, if you're sexually active, you might need it or if you get a blood transfusion. And you said, our one day old daughter does not need that. All right, so that's come out in the science. Seed oils have come out in the science.
Marnie Freeman: Yes, a lot of that. More natural ingredients, protecting people from dyes. We know dyes and other preservatives are not good for this. And other countries, especially European countries, have removed all of that years ago.
Kevin Freeman: And they don't have all the big, heavy vaccine schedules either.
Marnie Freeman: Right.
Kevin Freeman: So. All right, so that was a big one. Is Maha.
Another big one is the retreat of the climate zealots
Another big one is the retreat of the climate zealots. in this past year, Bill Gates. This is in CNN. This isn't fake news from CNN's not fake news, which is amazing. Right. But they are telling the truth. Bill Gates made a stunning claim about Bill, about climate change. He said, yeah, the climate's changing, but it's not going to end humanity. And therefore, there are other things we probably should be investing in.
Marnie Freeman: I wonder what precipitated that. But, I'm glad he did retract or recant.
Kevin Freeman: I think he's probably trying to curry favor with the Trump administration that has actual rational scientists looking at the climate. and we saw this at cop 30. We did a show on, cop 30, and, Craig Rucker explained to us how, yeah, no, it's a big scam. And they're finally admitting it's a big scam. It was just a means of making money. So that's another one.
President Trump has done many good things economically, including keeping tax cuts intact
Here's a third one, the peace treaties.
Marnie Freeman: There is an incredible amount of peace treaties. And this is what I was talking about behind the scenes. People just don't know what he is doing. Regarding to President Trump. Tell us about the wars that he has.
Kevin Freeman: Seven wars ended in seven months. Cambodia and Thailand, Cosmo in Serbia, DRC in Rwanda, Pakistan and India, Israel and Iran, Egypt and Ethiopia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. Seven wars ended in seven months, and hardly anybody took notice.
Marnie Freeman: I don't even understand this, why no one is talking about this.
Kevin Freeman: These are good things. Another one, the return of freedom of speech. White House came out and said, we're not allowing debanking. We guarantee fair banking for all Americans.
Marnie Freeman: For everyone, not just conservatives or liberals or everyone.
Kevin Freeman: Even Jamie Dimon admitted that there was debanking that took place. Now, he said, no, we didn't do anything. It wasn't a political thing at all. Well, we kind of feel better, right? Yeah, we know better. All right. Then the drug cartels. He sealed the border and he is. And he's now going after the drug cartels that have been running rampant with crime and killing people with fentanyl.
Marnie Freeman: Right.
Kevin Freeman: And he's taking them out. Protecting. So Trump administration carried out the 20th attack on alleged drug boats in the Caribbean this week. And the Democrats are complaining, even though Obama did similar things. Trump is just doing it very thoroughly.
Marnie Freeman: Right, Right. he's doing a good job. He's doing an incredible job trying to clean up all of this, and he's getting pelted for it. And really, it's protecting us, our kids right now.
Kevin Freeman: We're not just saying Trump is always perfect and everything's right, but he's done so many good things economically. He kept the Trump tax cuts in place. You know, if they'd expired, the average taxpayer would have seen a 20 hike. The average family of four would pay $1,700 more every year. The child tax credit would have been cut in half for 40 million families. Every taxpayer would see their guaranteed deduction slashed in half. And 26 million small businesses would be saddled with a, ah, massive tax increase. So keeping those tax cuts, which every Democrat ran on, eliminating them, that's been good for families.
Marnie Freeman: That's been really good.
Kevin Freeman: Now, one on the other side that a lot of people have problem with is the tariffs and the trade war. but we've done a program on that, actually. It's an important strategy. Even NewSong York Times admitted this, a winning strategy. He was winning the trade war. He's been using it. So we've had some wins there, a lot of different wins.
Marnie Freeman: It really is stretching and redoing that system that became so corrupt and unworkable.
Kevin Freeman: Yes, well, foreign nations were cheating on it, and they were going around it.
President Trump's created a Faith Advisory Board, and Dr. Carson is on it
All right, here's another one. That's an important one. Religious liberty has been returning to America. Even our friend Yaku is going to be at Mercy Culture D.C. a new church. We had him on the program. And Yaku is going to be bringing the light of Christ to Washington, D.C. but President Trump's created a Faith Advisory Board, and our good friend Dr. Carson is a part of the Religious Liberty Commission. So these are great things that are happening.
Marnie Freeman: And I want to say, first, Liberty Institute is doing incredible things because they have the ability to do that, but also because they're so talented and being able to join these type things. I think Kelly Shuckford's on the National Faith Advisory Board.
Kevin Freeman: He is. And Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick is leading with Dr. Carson. All right, we're going to have to take a, break. When we come back, we'll continue on politics for a minute, and then we'll talk about some of the other things that happened in 2025. We'll be right back after this break.
Kevin Freeman: New York elected a socialist as its next mayor
Mike Carter: Welcome back to Pirate Money Radio with your host, Kevan Freeman.
Kevin Freeman: Yeah. I'm joined by my favorite person on planet Earth, Marnie, mother of our children, my best friend for over three decades and my wife for nearly that many. Marnie, we were talking about politics. I know we talk about politics too much at home. Our kids sometimes put their hands over their ears and say, all right, can we talk about something other than politics?
Marnie Freeman: They do.
Kevin Freeman: All right, let's talk economics.
Marnie Freeman: No, they actually like it. They're starting to get into it.
Kevin Freeman: They are getting into it and they're brilliant. I love hearing them explain to their friends why socialism is bad. Right.
Marnie Freeman: And their friends are like, what?
Kevin Freeman: Yeah. I remember Kiran, our daughter, years ago, years ago, when Bernie Sanders came out as a socialist and one of her friends said, I'm gonna vote. If I could vote, I'd vote for him. Why? Do you remember what he said?
Marnie Freeman: Yeah. And Kieran asked why? Because he'll give me free education. And Kieran said, well, who's going to pay for that? Well, the government. Well, who's paying? The government?
Kevin Freeman: Yeah. Where's the government get its money?
Marnie Freeman: Just the government. She said, no, my parents are paying that. Your parents are paying that. We're all paying that.
Kevin Freeman: Yeah. no, we raised.
Marnie Freeman: I was so proud of her.
Kevin Freeman: We raised incredible kids. But, you know, people in NewSong York apparently did not.
Marnie Freeman: They didn't get that message.
Kevin Freeman: They did not. We should have sent her there to preach on the streets of NewSong York to tell them. Because Zoram Mamnani m. A socialist, a, twelver Islamists.
Marnie Freeman: He didn't hide any of this.
Kevin Freeman: A globalist. He made it clear, funded by George Soros, wins. And this is the Wall Street Journal headline. How Mamdani went from little known socialist lawmaker to NewSong York City mayor at age 34. How in the world did they choose him? it is because the Democrat Socialists of America, came out in big support. We just elected Zoram Ahmedani as NewSong York City mayor. They sold a bill of goods to the people of NewSong York and said, this system is not treating you fairly. Now, granted, the vast majority of those people are better off than the middle class in any other nation of the world.
Marnie Freeman: Absolutely.
Kevin Freeman: Even the poorest in NewSong York have more opportunity, more benefits and so forth. And they sold them a bill of goods. Why? Because people feel shut out of the system.
Marnie Freeman: They do. But also the Wall Street Journal says his deft use of social media and his focus on affordability and all of.
Kevin Freeman: This and lackluster propelled him. Let's get to this point. There were no other good Democrat choices.
Marnie Freeman: That's true.
Kevin Freeman: Cuomo was there, who had been, you know, run out of the governorship because of, scandal and who sent people in. So, yeah, there weren't really good quality choices. but the point is, the largest capitalist city on earth, the most capitalist city on earth, elected a socialist.
Marnie Freeman: Yes.
Kevin Freeman: That's a warning signal. We got to.
Marnie Freeman: Let's see how that works out.
Kevin Freeman: Yeah. And you know, what else has happened? And by the way, Zoram Dani has also been known to support or make statements that some people see as anti Semitic and certainly anti Israel.
Marnie Freeman: Yeah.
Kevin Freeman: And that's on the rise, too.
Marnie Freeman: That's just all over.
Kevin Freeman: it's college campuses. Yes, it is. We were talking with friends, and somebody says, I'm going to go out and speak a message of Judeo Christian. And I'm like, do you realize that's become a new pejorative? That's something you're not supposed to say as Judeo Christian. So we'll use the term biblical. How about that? Can we say biblical? Even that I just saw today? Western civilization is a white racist term to say. Western civilization.
Marnie Freeman: What?
Kevin Freeman: Yeah, that's what they're putting out there. We're losing our language. Now, I prefer biblical to Judeo Christian because the Bible has both the Old Testament and the NewSong Testament, and it honors Israel, and I prefer that. But I'm telling you, the rise of anti Semitic and anti Israeli attacks that have happened since October 7, 2023.
Marnie Freeman: Well, it's been interesting, and this is where I believe it's the spiritual war that we're facing.
Kevin Freeman: No, it is a spiritual war because on October 7, a bunch of people came into Israel and killed and murdered and raped and kidnapped and harmed a bunch of innocent people who were out celebrating at a music festival. Yes. And they did all of that. And then somehow the perpetrators became the victims, and we felt sorry for them.
I'm not saying everything Israel does is ordained by God
And yet you look at other, other nations around in the Middle east, and you'll see the wiping out of Christians that is nothing other than a genocide, and that's ignored. But if Israel tries to fight back, and I'm sure they. The Israeli army, I'm sure, did some things that are.
Marnie Freeman: We're not saying, Israel's innocent.
Kevin Freeman: No, I'm not saying that. And I'm not saying everything the Israeli government does is ordained by God. That wasn't true when David was king.
Marnie Freeman: Right.
Kevin Freeman: It wasn't true When Solomon was king, it wasn't true. When, any ah of them, because.
Marnie Freeman: We'Re dealing with humans, there was only one that was perfect, right?
Kevin Freeman: Jesus.
Marnie Freeman: Only one.
Kevin Freeman: Absolutely. So whether it was Saul, David, Solomon, there's the first three kings, and then it gets worse as you go to later kings. And so God didn't endorse everything they did. And I don't think God's endorsing everything that Netanyahu does. And I don't think we have to owe allegiance to Israel. I owe allegiance to God first and America and my family. I don't pledge allegiance to Israeli flag. But nevertheless, they've turned this into anti Semitism that is taking over and they're making it in large part about the money.
Marnie Freeman: It's true. we just have to remember that we are supposed to be praying for the peace of Jerusalem.
Kevin Freeman: You painted a whole painting on that.
Marnie Freeman: I did.
Kevin Freeman: So we care about Israel, but we care about the Muslim population in the Middle east as well, because Jesus loves them. The difference, though is I see that the ideologies of Israel tend to align better with Western civilization than the ideology of Hamas. And so if Hamas says, look, if you don't believe in Allah, we should kill you. and, the Jewish population has Christians, Jews, atheists, and Muslims all living in Jerusalem. We need to get to a society that allows us to freely worship God. And then if we share the love of Christ, we'll win over the world.
Marnie Freeman: That's right.
Kevin Freeman: Muslims around the world are coming to faith. They're having dreams and seeing Jesus and coming to faith. It's a spiritual war, like you said.
Pirate Money Radio promotes liberty, security, and values
But there's an economic component to you. a lot of it has to do with money. And there are only three things you can do with your money. You can give it, you can spend it, you can invest it. Here at Pirate Money Radio, we work to explain solutions that support all three areas in a way that promotes liberty, security, and values. Patriot Mobile, it's a mobile phone company, supports the Pirate Money radio program. Patriot Mobile uses US carriers, including AT&T, Verizon and T Mobile, and operates on both Apple and Android phones. More information about the economic war room, where we cover a lot of these topics. And Patriot Mobile is available at piratemoneyradio.com afr piratemoney.com afr so there's an economic component to this. And the economy has been a struggle this year.
Marnie Freeman: It has been. It seems to be getting. We just have to tighten our belts more is what it seems like. We have to do. But there's places where it's getting better. At that gas pump.
Kevin Freeman: Gas prices are down to like five year lows. Back to the old Trump days.
Marnie Freeman: Before, before Trump took office the first time, I was astonished. I said, I mentioned that the other day. I'm like, look at these prices.
Kevin Freeman: Yep. No, we were driving to Louisiana. I got $2.29, I think a gallon. It was very cheap, back to the good old days. But some prices are stubbornly high. House prices are beginning to come down a little bit. And people say, oh, no, no, the housing bubble is bursting. Well, you can't have it both ways. I want reasonable energy, I want reasonable housing, I want affordability. And I think Trump is working on it. But we're going to carry him further.
Marnie Freeman: And particularly for our kids who are, you know, this up and coming generation, they need homes.
Kevin Freeman: They do. So we're going to have to promote economic justice.
Marnie Freeman: Yes.
Kevin Freeman: And economic justice. We're working on an economic justice board. And I was working with the great Charlie Kirk, which leads me to, ah, another memory of 2025. There's a Bible verse, Psalm 11615. It says, Precious in the sight of the Lord are the death of his saints.
Marnie Freeman: There's a lot of sa that went.
Kevin Freeman: On this year, some big ones, some friends of this program, ones that we knew personally. in fact, the ones that I want to share about, we knew personally. The first one was Phil Robertson.
Marnie Freeman: Yes, we love Phil. He is amazing.
Kevin Freeman: He is in heaven and amazing. But he was on the economic war room, one of our very first guests. I remember going down to, Monroe and then outside Monroe into the swampy area around the river where Phil had his double wide. And Ms. Kay, a great story there, a great economic war room episode. He died on May 25.
Marnie Freeman: And we did a tribute show to him as well. We did, and it was good. I would encourage you all to go watch that.
Kevin Freeman: Absolutely. And then John MacArthur. We lost on July 13th. And John MacArthur, I knew his son Matt, worked with me at Templeton. Dr. John MacArthur. I've, got a MacArthur study Bible he signed to me. And, and I got to hang out with him a little bit. I enjoyed him. He passed away on July 13th. On August 21st, Dr. James Dobson. We did.
Marnie Freeman: I have to tell you about that. The strong willed child, you know, that he wrote. I'm not going to say whether my mom drugged me to a couple of those meetings a few times. Well, what does that say?
Kevin Freeman: one thing that it does say is, Marnie, you grew in The Lord, because I really, with Dr. Dobson, as you know, personally in Florida, and I told him some of our story, and I told him about you. I was trying to decide whether or not you and I should be married. And he said, wait, wait, what? You mean she's waited for you to hear from God whether or not to get married? And I said, yeah. For how long? about a year. She's waited that long for you to hear from? I would marry her. That's who I would love to.
Marnie Freeman: The Lord had put on my heart that you were my husband. And I just waited. That's all I did is I just sat with the Lord.
Kevin Freeman: So Dr. Dobson said that's what I would do right there.
Marnie Freeman: And he didn't say, thus saith the.
Kevin Freeman: Lord that got the confirmation from me that, well, there was a miracle there in that there was a fog. There's a long story. We'll have to tell it sometimes.
Marnie Freeman: We should tell it. It's really interesting.
The great Charlie Kirk died on September 11th. That was a tragic moment
Kevin Freeman: All right. And then the great Charlie Kirk died on September 11th. And I've got a picture of us with him, not long ago, here. And he came in studio. He was on economic war room, came in studio. He had me speak a year ago at amfest. And that was one of the great highlights of my life. the great Charlie Kirk, who loved America, he loved his wife, he loved the Lord. He loved the Lord.
Marnie Freeman: He loved his family and his family.
Kevin Freeman: Such an impact, at 31 years of age, taken far too soon from us, that. That was a. That was a tragic moment. But he continues to live on, and people coming to faith because of the.
Marnie Freeman: Life he lived, the seed died, and.
Kevin Freeman: Then now we're seeing a harvest, producing a harvest. You know, I want. I want. I don't want to go anytime soon.
Marnie Freeman: No.
Kevin Freeman: Certainly don't want to go at the hand of an assassin's bullets.
Marnie Freeman: Right.
Kevin Freeman: But I do wants to have the legacy that. That, you know, I'm more than twice his age. And yet, he left a legacy that is continuing to the world where the President of the United States will fly and attend your funeral and speak and all these world leaders. That was a powerful testimony of Jesus. It's a great memory. And, you know, we lost another great one. And we didn't know him as well, but we did know and meet him. The great Vodi Bakam.
Marnie Freeman: Yeah, his, his impact was very. I mean, it was worldwide. Definitely worldwide. His strength in the biblical truth, not just wavering on anything. Biblical truth.
Kevin Freeman: He broke critical theory with the truth of Jesus Christ. As a black man, which means they called him a white man, but he was a great man, a great speaker, had a tremendous voice. All right, we're going to cover some more highlights from 2025 and look ahead to 2026 right after. After the break.
Mike Carter: Pirate Money Radio, helping you give, spend and invest in ways that align with liberty, security and values.
Governor Abbott talks about the arrival of his first grand dog
Welcome back with your host, Kevan.
Kevin Freeman: And I'm joined by my beautiful, loving wife, Marnie. Joy of my life. I love that smile. and I want to get you to smile again, because I know what will always get you smiling is what. Whenever our daughter comes over and she brings our first grand dog.
Marnie Freeman: Right. You know, we don't. They're not married, so we don't have grandkids coming yet. So we've got to. We're invested in the grand dog. And this.
Kevin Freeman: They do have boyfriends.
Marnie Freeman: They do have boyfriends, but they're not.
Kevin Freeman: And they're doing it God's way. I'm grateful for that. and I haven't had to kill any young men, which is nice. But, yeah, no. The arrival of the grand dog.
Marnie Freeman: Cutest dog ever.
Kevin Freeman: Yes. Until the next dog that comes along. But she is a handful and she's sweet, and she's being trained as a service animal. And, you know, it's amazing, that little ball of fur, but I can watch you light up.
Marnie Freeman: She's my therapy dog.
Kevin Freeman: She is. She comes over to the house and.
Marnie Freeman: And boom.
Kevin Freeman: M. Mrs. Freeman is just. Ah, it is fun. this past year, we also celebrated. Gosh, actually, it's our 26th anniversary that we celebrated this past year. About to celebrate 27. Yep.
Marnie Freeman: And we've been, as I always say, we're very young.
Kevin Freeman: Oh, very young. Yes.
Marnie Freeman: So very young.
Kevin Freeman: and we've been reasonably healthy, and our walk with the Lord has been good. And I've been appreciative of all of the sweet times that we've had together on travels and at home and everything.
Marnie Freeman: Amazing times.
Kevin Freeman: And we've gotten to watch our daughters crush it in college and in life.
Marnie Freeman: I feel blessed. I love. I love being with you. I love being with them and just amazing.
Kevin Freeman: Yeah. So we've had some great personal experiences from the past year. Very, very grateful for all of. All of the really cool things.
Marnie Freeman: All, ah, the traveling we've gotten to do, we've been able to do. Yeah.
Kevin Freeman: Yep. It's been a great year in that. And we've had some business accomplishments a lot in the past year. you know, Governor Desantis, posted something HB999, financial sovereignty. You know what that started about? What? That is based on pirate money. It is literally based on pirate money. We had people in Florida, pastor in Florida read the book Pirate Money. It was given to him by our friend Art Alley of Timothy Plan. So Representative Bankson, Representative Doug Bankson got a copy of that, read it, started spreading it and sharing it with his colleagues. And this past year it passed unanimously.
Marnie Freeman: Unanimously.
Kevin Freeman: The board of House, the Senate, signed by the governor. The governor got a copy of it, loved it, got to meet with him and, and got to go to the signing ceremony. And they even let me speak at the signing ceremony.
Marnie Freeman: I mean that's a true honor.
Kevin Freeman: And then he came out and spent some time with the whole team with you, with Mike, with Russell. We did, we had a blessed time with him. And so people told me.
Marnie Freeman: So I'm grateful for him, his leadership.
Kevin Freeman: Me too. Well, it was just three years ago, I think I shared the idea before I'd even written the book Pirate Money. I shared the idea with him at Liberty University. He was speaking convocation. I wasn't that current convocation speaker. I'd done it a few months earlier, but we were at convocation and I was speaking at the school of Government and we had a luncheon and he, he's the superstar. I mean wherever he goes, people were like, oh. But I got included in this very small group and had the honor of getting to talk to him for a few minutes. And I shared with him this idea of transactional gold and silver. We call it pirate money. And he said, well wow, if you get that done in Florida and Texas, no one could stop you.
Marnie Freeman: That's right. Guess what, Guess what.
Kevin Freeman: Yeah, we got it done in Florida and in Texas. Texas is. Governor Abbott, when he signed, didn't pass unanimously. We had a bigger fight on our hands here.
Marnie Freeman: I mean we're from Texas and they're all about freedom for the most part. And we had a much bigger fight here.
Kevin Freeman: It's shocking too, and sometimes more Democrat support than Republican at times.
Marnie Freeman: That's true.
Kevin Freeman: But, but we had on June 29, 2025, go to Greg Abbott's X post feed and you'll see I signed a law authorizing Texans to use silver, gold and silver as legal tender in day to day financial transaction. It fulfills the promise of Article 1, Section 10 of the US Constitution.
Texas governor signs bill allowing transactional gold and silver payments
Congratulations to our dear friends, Representative Mark d' Arazio and Senator Brian Hughes who led the charge, and Senator Tan Parker was helping and Lieutenant Governor was helping and the speaker was helping. but we got it.
Marnie Freeman: State chief of staff for, Durazio was Caleb Cash$.
Kevin Freeman: I know. Isn't that amazing? Caleb Cat. Love that we're going to change his name to Caleb Gold$. But, but anyway, so.
Marnie Freeman: Well, we're grateful for Texas.
Kevin Freeman: And Abbott signed it. He had 35,000 likes of it. It had 4600 shares, 1700 people bookmarked it, 2100 comments and 3.1 million views. That is popular in the state of Texas. But neither one of them were first. It took a woman to be first. And you were there with me also when we went to Arkansas.
Marnie Freeman: Yes.
Kevin Freeman: And Governor Sanders. Sanders.
Marnie Freeman: Governor Sanders.
Kevin Freeman: She was the first one to sign it into law. And I got to give a shout out as she signed it into law. She looked back and saw David Barton and said, hey, David, did you know that Ken Eldred and Art Allie called me and told me I should sign this? Do you remember that?
Marnie Freeman: I do.
Kevin Freeman: And they said, no, Ah, no, I didn't know that. And I said, well, Governor, I believe that we had something to do with that.
Marnie Freeman: It was your fault.
Kevin Freeman: It was my fault. But they were great supporters everywhere we went. Art Alley, Timothy Plan, Ken Eldred, united in purpose.
Marnie Freeman: The concept of transactional gold and silver is just optional, another way to pay. And I mean, why shouldn't everybody have it? So I'm excited to see people starting to jump on this and I will.
Kevin Freeman: There's a picture of us where she signed it and smiling for the camera and everything. And there's her signing pin left on the table. And no, I did not steal it. She picked it up and handed it to me.
Marnie Freeman: So you have.
Kevin Freeman: And she said, this is for you and your team. So we have the pen from Arkansas, the pen from Florida. We got to attend both signing ceremonies. and anyway, it's also passed in Missouri. and that's Governor Kehoe. And it passed in Louisiana. And that's Governor Landry. And we had, let's, call it a mulligan in Utah. So we have a do over. It was, the, the Governor of Utah, Spencer Cox, vetoed the bill even though it passed almost unanimously, House and Senate. And our good friend Representative Ken Ivory pushed it through. He made it happen. And then they vetoed it. Yeah, almost inexplicably. And the governor, I just don't think understood it. He thought it was a vendor bill.
Marnie Freeman: I think he regretted vetoing it. Well, if I understood that right, he's.
Kevin Freeman: Been open to discussing it. Now, he, he wasn't necessarily all that favorable when, Treasurer Oaks was buying gold for the state of Utah at, $2,100 an ounce, or 25, whatever it was that they paid for. But when it hit 4,000 and went over, I think he realized we just made $100 million for our state.
Marnie Freeman: Right.
Kevin Freeman: our state's just $100 million in purchasing power. Richer because they put money into gold. They were a real pioneer, Always have been a pioneer in gold and silver.
Marnie Freeman: But they're in other areas.
Kevin Freeman: We're getting another shot at that.
Marnie Freeman: Amazing.
Kevin Freeman: We're getting another shot at that. And looking forward to 2026. I have just finished some revisions, some minor revisions to the Pirate Money book so we can celebrate our achievements and talk about the great people who helped us.
Marnie Freeman: So people are wanting those updates. They can. They can get them in the book if they want.
Kevin Freeman: Yep. It will be out in a new edition, early in 2026, which is good because we ran out of books. So you can learn [email protected] if you want to see that. But we had some great success in the past year.
Marnie Freeman: We did. Thank you, Lord.
Kevin Freeman: Thank you. And we're promoting transactional gold and silver. We think we have 20 more states potentially in line for next year. Well, if we add 20 to the five we've got, that's half America. America. That's half of America.
Marnie Freeman: It's going to happen. I just don't know how many. But it will happen because now they're dominoes.
Glint provides access to Gold for modern spending through debit card and mobile app
Kevin Freeman: You know who's made a big difference is the listeners to this program. American Family Radio is national. It's our, podcast also. We have so many listeners to this program.
Marnie Freeman: Thank you to each of you.
Kevin Freeman: And support for this program comes from Glint, which is a financial technology service offering a debit card and a mobile app that enables users to access their gold holdings for everyday purchases. With Glint, users maintain ownership of allocated physical gold, which is stored in a managed vault. At the time of a transaction, gold is sold in real time to cover the purchase amount in local currency. Glint offers an alternative way to store and use the value. Combining gold and silver with modern payment infrastructure, Glint clients can monitor their gold balance, view transaction history, and manage their account through the Glint app, available on major mobile platforms. More details about how vaulted physical gold can be used as money are [email protected] Gold247. That's glentpay.com Gold247. Glint provides access to Gold for modern spending.
Marnie Freeman: I, love to use Glint, my Glint card to go into the stores or pay for gas or whatever. It's awesome.
Kevin Freeman: And it's been a good store value and, and been helpful for us.
Pirate Money Radio has seen incredible victories through prayer and grassroots efforts
All right, so, Marnie, you've had some incredible work that you have done this past year, as a part of our team here and outside of the team as well. Let's talk about some of the things that you've achieved, in terms of that. And, the first one on the list is what we've been talking about. Transactional gold, where you led our grassroots and prayer teams.
Marnie Freeman: Yes, I mean, we have an, enormous, I guess, group of grassroots leaders and followers and all that. And on transactional gold, whether they were praying or walking halls with us, they did a lot, a lot into every single one of them. I m. Am so appreciative. We all learned how this is. What I'm going to say is, you know, you watch a bill try to go through the whole system in whatever state you're in, and they're all different. I've come up with a book that I Want to Write, 1001 Ways to Kill a Bill. Because you can do it secretly and still look like you've supported it. And so that was kind of a negative take on it, but it's a battle.
Kevin Freeman: We've had a number of those moments in the past year, and every time we've turned to the Lord and how many texts have you gotten? Marnie? We are in Louisiana and they're going to kill it this way. We need to do this. And you got the per teams on.
Marnie Freeman: Yes.
Kevin Freeman: God makes the difference.
Marnie Freeman: I'm thankful for the prayer teams.
Kevin Freeman: absolutely. And by appealing to God Almighty, we have seen incredible victory. That's impossible. I don't know of another bill that an idea. It's written in a book, and in two years it's passed into law in five states, representing five and a quarter trillion dollars of economic activity that's larger than Germany. That's like changing the monetary system of Germany and doing. You write a book, you introduce a bill, and then you spread the word and then you pray.
Marnie Freeman: It takes years to get one bill through one state.
Kevin Freeman: Right?
Marnie Freeman: If you even do it.
Kevin Freeman: That's right.
Marnie Freeman: So, it is definitely a God thing. Well, we're talking about his money, Biblical money. Gold, silver and copper is what he only mentions in scripture as, money.
Kevin Freeman: Yep, that's exactly right. So that is a big win from 2025. And. And this pirate money Radio audience has been a part of it because they've learned what we're doing and they've shared it and you should do that. Share this, podcast with your friends. Ah, they can find it at Afrirate Money Radio.
Marnie Freeman: Say like subscribe, share all the things.
Kevin Freeman: The things and all the things and, and, and Marnie, you've been a big part of it and, and your leadership, your wisdom, your understanding of the political process that you learn from Eagle Forum and other places has been phenomenal. All right, we're going to take another break. When we come back, let's talk about some of the other things that we did during 2025. We'll be right back after this break.
Mike Carter: Pirate Money Radio helping you give, spend and in ways that align with liberty, security and values.
David Barton was keynote speaker at the Liberty Forum Silicon Valley event this year
Welcome back with your host Kevan Freeman.
Kevin Freeman: And speaking of liberty, I was honored to be the keynote speaker at the Liberty Forum Silicon Valley event one, evening early in the year. It gave us a chance to go back to where we were first married and have a little honeymoon second, well, 72nd honeymoon.
Marnie Freeman: That was a great group. I mean, great group. I love them.
Kevin Freeman: Yeah, both conservatives from California showed up. No, I'm kidding. It's actually a very large group. and there are a lot of conservatives in California and they have had a rigged, political system that keeps them from winning. So you don't get a Republican and a Democrat, you almost always get two Democrats because it's like a ranked choice voting type thing and it's designed to whoever gets the top two goes in. So it's a jungle primary, I think they call it. Anyway, there are some phenomenal people in silver.
Marnie Freeman: So Robert helped us with that.
Kevin Freeman: Yeah, Robert Douglas and Doreen, his wife. But this group, phenomenal group, it's large and it's growing. They see the decline and failures of socialism in San Francisco. I mean that's where we honeymooed initially and loved it and then it deteriorated. They want it back and they're bringing free market, liberty loving principles to that area, which is great. So I love doing that. And then you go from all the way, you know, the hoity toity high end of California to the next stop.
Marnie Freeman: That we had was, Tyler, Texas.
Kevin Freeman: Tyler, Tyler, Texas. Yep. Grassroots America. We the people, we call her the godmother of American politics, Joanne Fleming, who is, she knows everything about everything in politics and she loves Jesus, which makes her one of the most amazing people. She gave us a Proverbs book, when we both got an award from her and they gave Us a Proverbs that I read every day and pray every day.
Marnie Freeman: We bought another one so we could have it. A travel one, and one that's at the house.
Kevin Freeman: And we hand them out regularly. it's Proverbs prayers. It's fabulous. So we were there, speaking, as with many other speakers, to educate legislators and grassroots on how to get bills passed. and then we went from there. We went to a conference, NRB conference, which was here in, Grapevine. And then we went. Left that and went to D.C. for another conference. So we had some. You know, we racked up some frequent flyer miles this year.
Marnie Freeman: We did. I see a really nice trip in our future miles.
Kevin Freeman: We're going to save up and go to Greece or something, I'm hoping. Yep. And then we went to the beautiful town of Fredericksburg.
Marnie Freeman: Right, right. We went there for one group. We also saw Patriot Academy while we were there. what's the group there?
Kevin Freeman: A tea party. Fredericksburg tea party that was over spring break, where we drug our.
Marnie Freeman: They're a great group.
Kevin Freeman: Yes. We drug our kids back from college. hey, spring break, we're going to Fredericksburg. But it's a beautiful town. And we had some. I had chicken schnitzel, and I really love that chicken schnitzel.
Marnie Freeman: You and your ability to have gluten, unlike, me.
Kevin Freeman: Yeah, no, it was very tasty.
Marnie Freeman: You eat my gluten as well.
Kevin Freeman: I do. And that was. It's a beautiful town in Texas. And then we've been to Arkansas and Florida back and forth. I don't know how many times, a million times. Bill signings. And we also got to Naples conference. Naples. I remember that because, hey, Siri, what's the weather like in Naples? I was like, oh, my gosh, Marnie, it's gonna be cold.
Marnie Freeman: Right?
Kevin Freeman: And I looked at it. It's like 40 and 50 degrees.
Marnie Freeman: So you packed for it being cold?
Kevin Freeman: I did. I packed for it being cold. I didn't realize that Siri gave me Naples, Italy, instead of Naples, Florida. But then we went on a, walking tour with Bill Federer and David Barton in Boston before a conference.
Marnie Freeman: Oh, that was a great tour. I mean, if you haven't listened to. To them, you should do it right now, immediately. They are amazing. They're. They're incredible historians.
Kevin Freeman: Yeah. Wall builders is David Barton's group. And Bill Federer has the American minute.
Marnie Freeman: Right.
Kevin Freeman: both fabulous. We also got to go to Mount Vernon.
Marnie Freeman: That was incredible.
Kevin Freeman: Yeah. That was an honor.
Marnie Freeman: It's like being in the movie.
Kevin Freeman: It Was an honor for me. I got to be the emcee for Dr. Carson's, birthday party.
Moore attended American Cornerstone Institute conference where the president was there
And this, the keynote speaker. Flew in on Marine One and came out. Yeah, the president was there. It was an exciting time.
Marnie Freeman: You did a great job too. It was fabulous.
Kevin Freeman: The song and dance keep people active and moving while they wait on the president. I've done that more than once. Ah. But, it was fun. It's always fun. Dr. Carson and his wife Candy are fabulous people.
Marnie Freeman: They are amazing.
Kevin Freeman: That whole team. Unbelievable, right? American Cornerstone Institute. fabulous Moore. AmericanCornerstoneInstitute.org I'm guessing. Yeah, that's a great.
Marnie Freeman: You should check them out as well.
Kevin Freeman: And ah, Liberty pastors.
Marnie Freeman: Oh my gosh. You should check them out as well if you want your pastor trained on all the things that we talk about here and more. They will be fire hose. But it's not, it's not about being fire hose per se. It's, when they walk out, they will be fully equipped to do the work that they are called to do, which is to protect their flock, to educate their flock.
Kevin Freeman: And they'll see it's that these topics are not political.
Marnie Freeman: No, they're biblical.
Kevin Freeman: It's spiritual. It's a spiritual thing.
The thing I remember most about Liberty pastors is Amish ice cream
So Liberty pastors, we were in Williamsburg, we were in Orlando, we were in Northern Michigan. But you know what I remember most about all three, and the speakers were phenomenal. every speaker was great. Every person I met was great. But the thing I remember most that sticks with me is Amish ice cream. You know, I make fun of Joe Biden, as president, you know, he'd always have an ice cream cone in his hand. But I realized I was actually just jealous because I love ice cream.
Marnie Freeman: You found an Amish, ice cream. We didn't even know what Amish ice cream was. It is incredible.
Kevin Freeman: In Orlando.
Marnie Freeman: Yes.
Kevin Freeman: You know, the town that Disney built and Universal Studios and SeaWorld, everything. Somebody had the common sense to go to Lancaster, Pennsylvania and from the Amish people, by ice cream that they made hand churned, non electricity. They put real ingredients in it, whether strawberries or peanut butter or whatever chocolate. They put real ingredients in it, then they freeze it and then they ship it to Orlando. And yes, I love Amish ice cream.
Marnie Freeman: Oh my goodness. I don't want to go far without looking at Stand awards. You got an Award from E.W. jackson at his Stand Awards Gala in.
Kevin Freeman: D.C. the George Washington War.
Marnie Freeman: Yeah.
Kevin Freeman: Ah, that was an honor.
Marnie Freeman: so congratulations is well deserved. So, yeah, George Washington award for taking A stand, which you do. You do really well.
Kevin Freeman: Well, that. And we also celebrated Ben and Lexie from our team.
Marnie Freeman: Yes. They got married.
Kevin Freeman: And you, Mrs. Freeman, you helped, help do that. And Pro Family Legislative Network, which is also, David Barton and our friend Adria.
Marnie Freeman: And Tim Barton.
Kevin Freeman: Yes, and Tim Barton.
American Journey Experience is part of Mercury One
And then here's a highlight. You just recently got back from Mar a Lago.
Marnie Freeman: Yeah. Yeah.
Kevin Freeman: You got to go with the American Journey Experience.
Marnie Freeman: Oh, my goodness. So American Journey Experience is part of Mercury One. Glenn Beck's. It's truly astonishing what they're doing, what they're getting ready to do. they're educating aje American Journey Experience. They have, ah, a museum that they're getting. They've just purchased a building to go into because this is going to be an amazing growth of their museum and training young people and all the things that we, again, talk about here. And they do it so well, and we got to help train them.
Kevin Freeman: You here, you have been adopted in. As a mom, for American Journey Experience. I know it. I saw these kids that were out at Liberty Hawk, and you were there. You're making. They got Tammy food, which is great. And ministered to by that. They got great teaching. but there you were just taking care of everybody, and they've kind of pulled you. Every time I go with you somewhere, you're the superstore, these young kids run up. Mrs. Freeman, Mrs. Freeman, they love you because you were your best. You were mom.
Marnie Freeman: yeah, I am mom to all of them when they're here. And I actually got a text from one the other. Other day, and he said it changed my life. It changed the trajectory of my life being at your ranch with American Journey Experience. And it was. I just cried. I sent it to all of our team and said, this is what we're investing in.
Kevin Freeman: So it was. It was kind of cool. I didn't get to go to Mar a Lago with you. I've been there a couple of times. I've been there with you, and I've been a couple of times more recently without you. But you got to go. What was it like?
Marnie Freeman: Oh, it was incredible. They. They, gave vision for the things that they're building, and so they're building. Y' all should pay attention to this. George, AI.
Kevin Freeman: Is just out now.
Marnie Freeman: Yeah, well, it's the data.
Kevin Freeman: Glenn just interviewed it on his show.
Marnie Freeman: Yes.
Kevin Freeman: And George was. He's like, okay, dumb it down a little bit.
Marnie Freeman: George, let's talk.
Kevin Freeman: Let's talk more normal. And he did.
Marnie Freeman: He did Layman, Layman's per, you know, layman's talk so we can understand it in modern language. It's phenomenal. And the partnerships and the building, the growth that Mercury One is doing and American Journey Experience is doing is truly incredible.
Kevin Freeman: And you saw a preview of what the White House ballroom's going to look like. I think. Mar A Lago, that ballroom is pretty. Yeah, it's very gold.
Marnie Freeman: There is a video out on what the new ballroom at the White House will look like. And it's really interesting because the tech that's in it, there's tech in the floor, there's tech everywhere. And it's just, it's going to be beautiful and I think needed.
Kevin Freeman: Yep, absolutely.
America Reads the Bible is bringing together Bible readers across the country
All right. And some other good work that you're doing. American Journey Experience, you know, kind of volunteer there, but America Reads the Bible.
Marnie Freeman: Oh my gosh, this is, this is pretty incredible. They're going to have, Christians engaged. Bunny Pounds had this vision to do everyone reading the Bible, bringing in Bible readers, ministries, businesses, those people to read the Bible. One week, one nation, one book, start.
Kevin Freeman: To finish, Genesis to Revelation. Dr. Carson's going to read. I get to read. They've got a lot of celebrities, really cool people reading. So that's a great thing at Museum of the Bible. And you can, americareadsthebible.com you can learn more. And then Students Standing Strong, you become the chairwoman of that board. studentstandingstrong.org tell us a little bit about.
Marnie Freeman: So Students Standing Strong is biblical student led clubs after school lunchtime in junior high and high school to have, students live, learn and lead biblical lives.
