Kevin Freeman: As America celebrates 250 years, I'm reflecting on life lessons
Kevin Freeman: Hey. As America celebrates our 250 years, I'm realizing that I've been alive more than a quarter of our nation's history. That's kind of an amazing thought. my dad lived more than a third of America's history. When my grandfather was born, we were just about at the halfway point in the United States. Our nation is actually quite young on a global perspective. here's an amazing stat. I've been with my wife, Marnie, either dating or married nearly half of my life now, more than three decades together. She was young when we met. I was a few years older. She's still young and beautiful, and she's here with me today. Welcome Marnie love of my life, mother of our children, partner in every respect.
Marnie Freeman: Well, I love you. And what a journey it's been. It's been awesome. And we're going to continue to do.
Kevin Freeman: That's right. Ah, I want another 30 years or more.
Marnie Freeman: Wait, we're still young too together, though, right?
Kevin Freeman: Okay. I'll be young at heart.
Marnie Freeman: I like to think so.
Kevin Freeman: That's right. So, we've got our anniversary this month. And officially, when you add in the several years that we had dating before that, we've been together a good number.
Marnie Freeman: Of years, just a wee bit of time, but it's been too short.
Kevin Freeman: It really has flown by, hasn't it? Yeah. I thought maybe in this episode of Pirate Money Radio, we could reflect a bit on some of the life lessons that you and I have learned together over more than 30 years. And I pulled out seven of them, and I didn't consult you. And when I'm missing one, you can jump in and say, hey, Kevan, that's good, but how about. You should have said this.
Marnie Freeman: Well, I think there's way more than seven for sure and for certain, and it has flown by.
The second most important decision a person will make is their spouse
And I just wanted to say that the second most important decision a person will make is their spouse. And if you find the right spouse, you choose wisely, it will just catapult you both together.
Kevin Freeman: Oh, absolutely. Choose wisely is important. I remember sharing that with, one of our daughters. And it's like, you know what? If you choose poorly, I'm going to support the institution of marriage. And your daddy who loves you, is. You say, well, I don't like this, and this and this. Well, if it's a, certain issue, I will stand behind you and protect. I will always be There for you. I will always love you. But if you just say, well, I wished I didn't marry him, I should have married some. I will not be there for you. You choose wisely because it's the second most important choice you'll make.
Marnie Freeman: I'll tell you something your dad said to me. He said, do you know what kind of ride after we got married, do you know what kind of wild and crazy ride you just got on? And I said, no, but I'm all in. And then just a few years ago before he pass, he said, I told you so.
Kevin Freeman: He did.
Marnie Freeman: And I'm like, yes.
Kevin Freeman: All right. So that's actually turns into life lesson number one, which is, marriage isn't easy, but it's worth it.
Marnie Freeman: That's true.
Kevin Freeman: Sometimes it is scary, like a roller coaster ride, but at the end of it you say, that's great, I loved it.
Marnie Freeman: Some of it's just things that life throw life throws at you, but some of it's just you as a couple working hard, things out.
Kevin Freeman: Yes. And we have different approaches to things. We have different personalities. I'm so thankful that you are not me. I don't think I could live with you if you were like me.
Marnie Freeman: But I think the reverse is true. also, I mean, we complement each other well.
Kevin Freeman: I think that is definitely true. That if, Yes. I'm glad I'm not you and I'm glad you're not me. But I am glad we are we.
Marnie Freeman: Okay, I want to tell you something that I learned. Well, I didn't learn this. I heard from Lisa Bevere the other day and I think this is so true. And ladies out there listen to this and I agree wholeheartedly to call out the good and the higher in your spouse, even if it's not true yet, instead of nitpicking, criticizing all those type of things. And so that's sometimes where things can get difficult. But if you call out the good instead of being the person, that's like the critic. Yeah. And I see that it goes miles with you. I also see that conversely, my words can cut you down more so than anybody else in the world in two seconds flat.
Kevin Freeman: Okay. And I.
Marnie Freeman: So I can be your jet skill.
Kevin Freeman: My extreme nerdiness is that I like Star Trek.
Marnie Freeman: Yes, you do.
Kevin Freeman: And I like the fact that the Enterprise, it would have shields or force field that would go around it. But then if another ship came up that was compatible, that was also Federation ship, they could actually together have a stronger shields around both of the two but it would leave emptiness between them so that they'd be vulnerable to each other, but stronger against the world.
Marnie Freeman: Yes, and that's true if you are.
Kevin Freeman: Together and you don't have the shield between you, you can get close, but it also means that you're completely vulnerable.
Marnie Freeman: That's true.
Kevin Freeman: And so that's a very good point. All, right. It's good to have both a male and female view in raising children. Kids need both. Even single parent homes need opposite sex instruction.
Marnie Freeman: Find a trust for their children.
Kevin Freeman: Exactly. because God is whole. He's not male. He's not male or female. He's both. He's both and we need both. And you, you taught me this. Ah, you heard this from the Holy Spirit. I think, when we're raising our kids, well, that's a left brain thing and that's a right brain thing. But you taught me God didn't make half brain people.
Marnie Freeman: Well, I feel like the Lord just laid it on my heart that my kids or you or myself, you know, people are always speaking, oh, you're an artist or whatever. And he said to stop speaking that way because I have the mind of Christ. So do you. So do our kids. And they are not half brained. Christ was not half brained. So therefore I stopped speaking that over my kids. I didn't allow anyone to speak that over them or us. And then we can move forward fully full brained, with the mind of Christ.
Kevin Freeman: Well, and that's great.
Kevin Freeman: Marriage is a partnership, but it's worth it
Children are a sacred trust given to families, given to parents, and we've got to take care of them. Here's something interesting. This is a newsweek Barry Weiss, contributed in December of 23. Why two parents are the ultimate privilege. The best thing you can do is have two parents in the home. And that's great. So that's the first point. life isn't. Marriage isn't easy, but it's worth it.
Marnie Freeman: Well, I want to add to that that we actually got a family mission statement when we started out. And that was we do what God wants. And then eventually we had to add on to that. We do what God wants willingly. So that's our mission.
Kevin Freeman: I would share with people, my friends that are Calvinists and I'd say, we do what God wants. And they say, well, of course, everybody does what God wants. God's sovereign. Of course you do what God wants. I said, okay, so what distinguishes. Oh, we do it willingly.
Marnie Freeman: We do it willingly.
Kevin Freeman: We choose to do it. That's good. So the second point I want to make is marriage is a partnership. And we'll have to carry this one over after the break. We don't have time to fully explore it, but sometimes rules switch. When we first got married, I was the primary earner in the family and the breadwinner and all of that. And you were staying at home, you had two beautiful children, you were taking care of them. And God called me in 2005, said, this is the year of Marnie. And I was told to quit my job and. And to support you as you started a career as an artist. Now, that was kind of shocking to me. And to you.
Marnie Freeman: Well, that was shocking to me. And I was like. I was not sure that you had heard correctly.
Kevin Freeman: Yeah, that's right. But I did hear it. I mean, I remember every year I go away and pray and seek God at the start of the year on NewSong Year's, and I just kept hearing from the Lord, what do we do this year? He said, it's the year of morning, but what does that mean, God, what do we do? And then we went from there to the second inauguration, President George W. Bush. And we're sitting there, and I hadn't gotten a word from God. And I'm praying and asking God, and we're standing up, and Nicole Mullen is singing. Nicole C. Mullen My redeemer lives My redeemer lives and all of a sudden, the Holy Spirit came on me, and I just had to sit down. I couldn't stand up anymore. And he was like, are you okay? Are you okay? I was like, I have to sit down. What's going on? I said, I'm hearing from God what that means the year of Marni. I still didn't get it fully. I got it down here, but I didn't get it up here in my head. You remember that?
Marnie Freeman: Oh, yeah, I remember just like yesterday.
Kevin Freeman: So we come home and I'm wandering around the house, and you looked at me and you said, I'm sick of this. You go, get away from here. You got too many distractions. You go hide at a hotel somewhere and listen to God and hear what he's saying. And I did that. Took me a week to hear. And I was like, call you and say, I want to talk to the girls. And he was like, have you heard from God yet? And I said, yes. all right, I'll meet you for dinner, and you can see the girls. And then you go back and hear from God. That was a. I remember that week. That was a hard, hard week. But it was a good Thing.
Marnie Freeman: But it was fruitful.
Kevin Freeman: It was. And it was a good thing that you sent me to do that, because what I heard there changed both of our lives.
Marnie Freeman: That's right.
Kevin Freeman: In a good way. And catapulted us, to the incredible lives that we've had. So much fruit came out of that. You hearing from God? Enough to tell me to go hear from God.
Marnie Freeman: Choose a partner wisely.
Kevin Freeman: That is the partnership role of it. And that's what turned you into the artist of liberty, which we can talk about when we come back from the break. But this is an amazing history ride that we've had. Marnie and Kevan Freeman, seeking God together, serving God together, and learning that marriage is a partnership. We've got five more lessons that we'll cover right after this break.
Kevin Freeman: Marnie Freeman says she heard from God about painting
Mike Carter: Welcome back to Pirate Money Radio with your host, Kevan Freeman.
Kevin Freeman: Yeah. And I'm joined by Marnie Freeman. We were just talking about that fateful year of 2005 where we saw President George W. Bush inaugurated at a second inauguration. And we heard from John Ashcroft as the keynote speaker at that particular Christian Inaugural Eve gala. And Nicole Mullen and Al Denson were performing. Al Denson was playing piano. Nicole Mullen was singing. I was hearing from God. And then I come home and I don't know what to do. I feel like I was doing consulting. I was earning good money at the time. I had great consulting clients. I'd taken a little break for the holiday. And, here we were. Gosh, it's, you know, here we're at the 21st, as we're recording this day of January. So this is going to air in a couple of weeks. But we're hearing from God. And guess what? He said, I want you to quit your job and I want you to help M. Marnie.
Marnie Freeman: And you're the breadwinner.
Kevin Freeman: A career, and I'm the breadwinner. I came home from Valentine's Day. We met that Valentine's Day. So February 14, Valentine's Day is coming up in a couple of weeks. And I was like, I don't have anything planned. What are we going to do? And you said, hey, have you heard about this chocolate, restaurant?
Marnie Freeman: Everything was chocolate, Salads were chocolate, soup was chocolate. Everything was chocolate.
Kevin Freeman: That sounds so good. So we went, it's not in business anymore. It's now a pizza place. But then we went there and we sat there and you said, okay, you've had a week to hear from God. What have you heard?
Marnie Freeman: And you just started downloading and you said, you're gonna. I'm gonna quit my job and I'm. And you're gonna start painting. And I was like, what?
Kevin Freeman: It just started bubbling out.
Marnie Freeman: And you had names. You had names for these paintings.
Kevin Freeman: You were searching through your purse to try and find a pen and something to write on. I think you probably wrote on a, receipt from the grocery store or something. I said, write this down. And you just writing down One Nation.
Marnie Freeman: I got every line of the Pledge and Justice for All. All these paintings were named. And I was like, I haven't painted in years. I do have a degree in art, but it's graphic design.
Kevin Freeman: Struggling to kneel. I started listening. I said, God wants you to paint this and this and this and this and this. And if you've known Marnie anytime at all, you know she's actually painted those paintings.
Marnie Freeman: I have.
Kevin Freeman: And the first one, I said, I think One Nation under God, it's children, saying the Pledge of Allegiance. And you asked what it looked like. And I said, well, there's kids, they turn around, they staring at a flag. It's a classroom, and they're hand over their hearts and they're saying the Pledge of Allegiance.
Marnie Freeman: And you said, I think it's a response to this Newdow case, the Newdale case, when they're trying to get. When they're trying to yank all of that stuff off our federal buildings, our.
Kevin Freeman: state buildings, any mention of God. And Placer County, California, is where the court ruled that they had to remove that from the pledge. Kids could say the pledge, but they could not say One Nation under God.
You painted an excerpt from John Ashcroft's book about struggling to kneel
Marnie Freeman: And you also said, well, you're supposed to paint this excerpt from John Ashcroft's book, Struggling to Kneel, where he is gathered with a group of people, and he's about to be sworn in. And his dad, who was ill at the time, flew up to see him sworn in to the Senate. And he said, dad, they went to go get into a place to pray, but his dad was, like I said, ill. And he was struggling to get out of this couch and get on his knees. But John said, dad, you don't have to struggle to kneel to pray for me. And he struggle to stand. You don't have to struggle to stand to pray for me. And he said, John, I'm not struggling to stand. I'm struggling to kneel. And that's what you're going to experience in D.C. you're going to struggle to.
Kevin Freeman: Kneel every day because it's a prideful place. It's an Arrogant place. And it'll be a struggle for you to get on your knees.
Marnie Freeman: Absolutely.
Kevin Freeman: And that was the last lesson of Father, Son. John Ashcroft said, I remember it like it was yesterday. The Holy Spirit just spoke quietly in my heart and said, marnie's going to paint this painting, and she'll give it to John Ashcroft.
Marnie Freeman: And you told that to me. And I said, do you know John Ashcroft?
Kevin Freeman: No.
Marnie Freeman: And I said, I don't know John Ashcroft. How are we going to get that to John Ashcroft?
Kevin Freeman: He was an Attorney General of the United States, a former Missouri governor, pretty powerful, important person. So anyway, but God said, but then.
Marnie Freeman: Out of the blue, this lady named Amy calls me.
Kevin Freeman: But before you jump there, you said, well, God may have told that to you, but he's going to have to tell it to me. You're going to keep your job and keep doing that until God makes me aware of that. And then he said, okay, I'll do whatever God. We do what God wants. And I remember I got a call, from my dear friend and business partner now, Russell, who said, hey, we're going to go to Deluxe Cafe. and Al Denson, who was the. Playing the piano at the inauguration, and Russell and Karen, his wife, have gone with us. We've gone there and Deluxe Cafe. And, Al wants to know if you want to come. And I said, sure, I'll go. Yeah, absolutely. It's a Cheesecake Factory, is what it is. Deluxe Cafe is owned by the Cheesecake. I don't know if it's still there. So I went there, and you're like, I don't know if this is what we're going to do. If Kevan heard from God, this or not. And now tell.
Marnie Freeman: Then I got a call from a lady I didn't know, and she was in Placer County, California, and they were doing, maybe a Republican gala. And she said, hey, I saw that you had painted something, like, a long time ago. And, that was a whole miracle, too. And she said, would you be willing to design our invitation and maybe do a painting for it, for this event? And I said, well, what's the theme? She said, well, it's One Nation under God. You had just told me that I was going to paint a painting, One Nation under God, with kids saying the Pledge. With kids, sang the Pledge. And I was like, what? I said, do you mind telling me who your keynote speaker is? And she said, yeah, it's attorney former Attorney General John Ashcroft. I was like, what is happening here?
Kevin Freeman: And then you first, I think you hung up on her.
Marnie Freeman: I said, I'm gonna have to call you back. And then you hadn't left yet. And I said, hey, Kevan, I'm on board now. What do we need to do? How do I paint? What do I do?
Kevin Freeman: here's the fun part. She also, if you remember, she said, and I need to get ahold of Al Denson. Do you know how I can get a hold of Al Denson? Well, my husband's having lunch with him. You told her the whole story. And she said, I want that painting. And we will make room in the program for you to give the painting.
Marnie Freeman: To John Ashley to present Struggling to Kneel painting to John Ashcroft. So we had no idea it was coming. It was a fabulous event. I mean, I just locked myself away. You started hanging out with the kids a lot. 24 7.
Kevin Freeman: I was there proud of you, because.
Marnie Freeman: I locked myself up and painted.
Kevin Freeman: And I loved it because now I know our kids. I have an intimate relationship with both of, them, and I love them.
Marnie, you were the virtuous wife, Proverbs 31
But Marnie, you were the virtuous wife. People say, well, a Christian woman has to stay at home. Well, pretty proud of her. Proverbs 31. And see that she's not. She girds herself with strength. She takes care of her family. She extends her hand to the poor. She reaches out to the needy. She's not afraid of snow for her household. She makes tapestry for herself. She is an investor. She'll buy a field and invest in it. She is a businesswoman. She'll buy things and do things. Many daughters have done well, but you exceed them all. Charm is deceitful, and beauty is passing. But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her the fruit of her hands and. And let her own works praise her in the gates. You are a virtuous woman. I'm grateful to have you in my life. You're a partner in life, and you've been a partner with Pirate Money and Pirate Money Radio. You've been a part of it. I love to travel and speak with you. You work the booth with me and at amfest, even Charlie Kirk, the great late, great Charlie Kirk, who we love and Miss Dearly. He said, I want to see Kevan and Marnie. And he sent Mikey McCoy to find us and to take us backstage. That was.
Marnie Freeman: That was fun.
Kevin Freeman: you've been my partner a lot.
Marnie Freeman: I enjoy partnering together. I don't understand when people are like, I couldn't work with my husband. And I'm like, man, I Love it. I love it.
Kevin: I learned some bonus partner in life lessons from Mark Tolhurst
Kevin Freeman: All right, so I'm going to give you. We're just in two, we've got seven, and not much time to get through. But I want to give some bonus partner in life things that I learned. Here's a bonus one. This comes from our friend Mark Tolhurst, who was married to Robin, had beautiful daughter Elizabeth and a son, Joshua. he's passed on, but we miss him very much. But he would tell me before he got married, he said, listen to the woman. Listen to the woman. If she's godly, that is. I learned so much. here's the bonus lessons from Mark Trohors, though. Number one, every husband should have a gift closet. Be smart. Buy a bunch of gifts, wrap them up, stick them in the closet, because you're going to need a brother. That's what he said. And so you have it for anniversaries, for birthdays, and for apologies. Ready to go in a closet, all pre wrapped and ready to go. Robin said that after Mark passed for years, she opened an anniversary present and a Christmas present and a birthday present. There were that many stored in the closet number one. So that's it. And here's the second piece of advice that I learned from the great Mark Trollhorst. He says, be quick to say when it's appropriate. You're so very, very right. And I am so very, very wrong. But he gave us an alternative. If you can't say, if it's so hard to say, you're so right and I'm so wrong. If that's hard, what's the choice?
Marnie Freeman: You're so very, very sexy.
Kevin Freeman: Yep. He said you look at her and say, you're a sexy, sexy woman.
Marnie Freeman: Now, I have to interject here. There's something that you do for me all the time, and that is bring me coffee every morning. It's truly awesome. And then you also wrote a poem for when we got married and engaged on the same night because you had a surprise wedding for me.
Kevin Freeman: Yes, that's right. Most people are like, we'll get to that one day. We'll have a pirate money radio where we'll talk our crazy stories of life.
Marnie Freeman: Now, I'm still going to interject, and you're like, what going on here? But we have an anniversary coming up and you've always written me a poem every Valentine's Day. Yes, I wrote you one for our anniversary. And I'm going to read that now.
Kevin Freeman: Oh, wow. We've got 2 minutes and 50 seconds.
Marnie Freeman: I know. Let's go. So Based on the, fools, Russia and that movie we really like. So. Kevan, man of my dreams. You are everything I never knew I always wanted. There is a man of my dreams I had built up in my mind. I even had a, what I want in a husband list that I had made over time. This man I had imagined, the one I had decided. The one thing I had decided he had to love God. And so it was for him and time I bided. You're more than. I more than surpassed what I want in a husband list. Truly, you exceeded it. I feel like I have been undeservedly blessed. A journey I don't ever want to quit. Gratefully, our, faithful and loving God knows best. An incredible union in us he created. You are everything I never knew I always wanted. From our beginning, I have been truly elated. I'm gonna cry. Oh, the adventures we've been on. And sometimes through. But I know this. I'm madly in love with you. You lead us well and love God with all your heart, soul and mind. You sacrifice for me, our girls and others wholly and unconditionally all of the time. Kevan, man of my dreams. You are more than I ever hoped or planned for. Happy anniversary. my love. And here's to many, many, many more. Kevan, you are everything I never knew I always wanted. And I love you.
Kevin Freeman: Oh, I love you. That's so sweet.
Marnie Freeman: Thank you for sharing it. You had no idea I was gonna do that.
Kevin Freeman: I had no idea? No, you jumped in. So our timing is a little bit off, but we're gonna get through as many of these seven as we can.
Find a verse to pray for your spouse and focus on it
you know what I do wanna share is the importance of praying for your spouse. And that's another lesson. Find a verse to pray for your spouse and focus on it. You blessed me with your poem, which I don't write, so blessed me with your prayers. And you've been praying. Proverbs 22, 29. New King James says, do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings. He will not stand before, obscure men. And guess what you have done for me by that prayer? I've worked with 10 billionaires that I've counted in my life. Sir John Templeton. I've met presidents. I've been with Dr. Ben Carson and got to emcee his birthday party year after year. I'm on the boards of directors. I've met Glenn Beck and Charlie Kirk and Steve Bannon and General Flynn and admirals and generals and CIA directors, DIA directors. Ah, Nigel Farage in England and Governor DeSantis, Governor Sanders. I've had the opportunity to be with a lot of people. You've prayed, and now I want you to just slightly alter that. do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings. but he also has a big audience, even if they are obscure men. So pray for us here at Pirate Money Radio. We're going to grow our audience. We're, going to have to take a break. When we come back, we're going to talk about. That's how it works. The secret to getting your prayers answered.
Glint provides access to gold for modern spending with debit card and mobile app
Welcome back with your host, Kevan Freeman.
Kevin Freeman: You know, support for this program comes from Glint. It's a financial technology service offering a debit card and mobile app that enable users to access gold and silver holders for everyday purchases. That's right, gold can be money. Again, with Glint, users maintain ownership of allocated physical gold or silver. It's stored in a managed vault, and at the time of transaction, gold or silver is sold in real time to cover the purchase amount in local currency. That offers an alternative way to store and use the value. Combining gold and silver with modern payment infrastructure, Glint clients can monitor their gold or silver balance, view their transaction history and manage their account through the Glint app, available on major mobile platforms. More details about how vaulted physical gold and silver can be used as money are [email protected] Gold247 Again, that's glintpay.com Gold247. Glint providing access to gold for modern spending. They're making gold money again. Essentially, it's what they're doing.
Marnie Freeman: And you've been with a debit card. I love it.
Kevin Freeman: You've been a powerful part of, that explanation. You tell people how it works, which is pretty cool because you say you can use a debit card and you can spend gold and silver. You simplify it, explain how it works. But before the break, I promised all our listeners this secret to answered prayer. I'm going to share it with you now. You know this. It's a common saying in our house. And, our scripture verse Here is James 5, 16, 18. I've got the new King James before me. The effective fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. actually, it says avails much. I remember the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
Marnie Freeman: Me too.
Kevin Freeman: Says, elijah was a man with a nature like ours. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain and the earth produced its fruit. So what is our saying within the Freeman Home when we hear of a miracle? the miracle.
Marnie Freeman: We say, that's how it works.
Kevin Freeman: That's how it works. And I'm going to share that story. Marnie, you've had to listen to this.
Marnie Freeman: So many times, but it's a powerful story. Everyone should know, and they should go get this book.
Kevin Freeman: It's a powerful story. I remember I was in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at South Rhodes Mall, working at the Royal East Limited store, right next to the General Nutrition center in the mall. And Royal East Limited was owned by, Mr. J.S. park is a Korean man. His wife taught French at Oral Roberts University there in South Tulsa. And I was there every day, and my job was to answer the phones, to ring up purchases, to serve customers. And his job was to order the merchandise, keep it in, do all the books and everything, and pay me my salary. That was part of his job from my perspective. So, anyway, Mr. Park Every day, would go out to lunch at the Piccadilly cafeteria. Remember when we used to have cafeterias?
Marnie Freeman: Yes.
Kevin Freeman: And he'd go every day and he'd walk through and he'd cup his hands like it was a bowl, and he'd pretend like he had chopsticks in his hand, and he'd be scooping food in his mouth. Pretend, just. And that what he said, that meant it.
Marnie Freeman: His lunch.
Kevin Freeman: I'm leaving the store. I will be back in 45 minutes. I'm going to Piccadilly cafeteria, eat lunch, and I'll be back. And he did that. And I got to read. It was wonderful. I got to read.
Marnie Freeman: So you had enough time on your job to read?
Kevin Freeman: I did and do schoolwork. I, was in college at the time. I got to read if there was no customer, nothing, you know, I could sit and read. And I had a book given to me by my college roommate, the Fourth Dimension, discovering a new world of answered prayer by Dr. David Yongji Cho. He was a Korean pastor, one of the largest churches, Assemblies of God, huge church in South Korea. And I'm reading the book, the Fourth Dimension. And as I'm reading it, I finish it and I close it up. And I said, oh, Lord, you know, someday I'd like to speak with that man. Book closes, phone rings. Okay, I pick it up. Real East Limited, may I help you? And I hear these words. Is Mr. Park there? I said, no, no, he's gone to lunch. can I take a message? You tell him that Dr. Paul. He didn't say, David Paul, Yongji Cho from South Korea is calling. Every time I come to the United states, I call Mr. Park after you.
Marnie Freeman: Just said you wanted.
Kevin Freeman: I'm in Hawaii. And I said, Dr. Cho. The Dr. Cho. I'm reading this book, the Fourth Dimension. And I just finished reading it, and I said, you won't believe this, but I said, lord, I'd like to speak with this man someday. And his response was, yes, that's how it works.
Marnie Freeman: That's how it works.
Kevin Freeman: And I'm like, okay. And then he goes on and says, okay, tell Mr. Park I called. It's long distance. I've got to go, Bye, and hangs up on me. The whole point of the book is you need to pray. Specifically effectual fervent prayer is a specific prayer. And so like he prayed for a bicycle. And the Lord said, what kind of bicycle do you want? I want a red bicycle. And he got a red bicycle. And I prayed and I asked to speak with him. I didn't ask to have a conversation with him. I just asked, lord, I'd like to speak with him. That's a miracle answer to prayer.
Marnie Freeman: That's right. That was God showing off.
Kevin Freeman: it was God showing off.
Kev says he conned you into marrying him in California
So here we are, first year of marriage, we're visiting Austin, we're coming to Texas, we left Carmel, California, which people listen to this and say, you left Carmel.
Marnie Freeman: Why would you do that?
Kevin Freeman: Went to Fort Worth, Texas. You did what? And I conned you into marrying me when I was the Carmel resident. But we agreed to come to Texas.
Marnie Freeman: hold on. You did a bait and switch. So there you go.
Kevin Freeman: I did, come marry me and live on the golf course in Carmel. And the next thing you know, you're in a suburb of Fort Worth.
Marnie Freeman: Yeah. I love it though. Wouldn't trade it.
Kevin Freeman: We do love it. And then we were got involved in politics and we went down to Austin for a pro life rally. And I remember walking up to you and you're talking with this guy and you say, kevin, you won't believe this. This is amazing. You're an artist.
Marnie Freeman: Yes.
Kevin Freeman: I can't believe you spot him a mile away.
Marnie Freeman: For sure.
Kevin Freeman: And you're sitting there talking with this guy named Max Greiner Jr.
Marnie Freeman: Yes.
Kevin Freeman: And I remember saying, oh, what's your art? And he said, I'm going to build these 20 and 30 foot tall crosses that will be empty, the middle will be empty of them. We'll call it the Empty Cross. And I say, oh, I'd love to see one. Oh, I haven't placed one yet. Okay, well, where can I see it? Well, I haven't built one yet. I said, okay. And you looked at me and I know the way you're going to tell it, you're going to say, wouldn't it be fun to have one? That's not what I heard. I've been married a year to the most beautiful woman in the world and I would do anything for you. And what I heard you say was, get me one.
Marnie Freeman: Yeah, I did not say that. I said I really would like to have one, but the HOA wouldn't allow it, nor did we have the funds for such a thing.
Kevin Freeman: I heard, get me one. And I realized I don't have the physical capacity. We don't have the property. We don't have anything to put a 30 foot tall cross. The HOA would come down on us like a ton of bricks.
Marnie Freeman: But you know, to appease me, he gave me a medallion with the image on it.
Kevin Freeman: He did.
Marnie Freeman: It was beautiful. And I have it on my desk today.
Kevin Freeman: He did. But I looked at you and I said, Hm. I can't get her one in my strength, but I can pray. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man. A very specific Lord God, in the name of Jesus, I ask that you would give us a Max Greiner Empty Cross. And I prayed it in Jesus name. And that was, you know, early 2000s. The first one he ever placed was at the Haven of Hope for Premier Design Jewelry. First one ever placed anywhere in the world. Now there's one in Fredericksburg. He's got a statue of a lion in, Jerusalem. He's a very famous artist now, but the very first placement he had of that cross was at Haven of Hope, which is now Liberty Hawk Ranch. And when we bought this property, we walked up the hill and I.
Marnie Freeman: Saw it and I started bawling. I could not believe it. That was God's just wink, wink, wink and nodding.
God will supply no matter what, even when it seems dark
Kevin Freeman: Which leads us to the next truth God will supply no matter what, even when it seems dark. It's a biblical promise. Philippians 4:19. In the king James says, but my God shall supply all your need according to his riches and glory by Christ Jesus. Here's the key. He doesn't supply it always how we want it.
Marnie Freeman: That's true.
Kevin Freeman: But he does supply it how he wants it.
Marnie Freeman: and usually out of nowhere.
Kevin Freeman: remember when we were running out of money? I mean, When I was doing the Pentagon work, they were not paying me. They personally purposefully were told to run me out of money.
Marnie Freeman: And we have proof of that. That's not you just saying it.
Kevin Freeman: Oh. They also threatened to kill me. Literally.
Marnie Freeman: They did. That was very, very difficult.
Kevin Freeman: It was during the Obama administration. It was somebody that was a friend, but he was warning me. They were telling me to run you out of money so that you will give up. Because I had proof. I had absolute proof. It's written in the book Secret Weapon.
Marnie Freeman: I think they said they could disappear you.
Kevin Freeman: Yeah, they said we can make people disappear.
Marnie Freeman: Yeah.
Kevin Freeman: That's a death threat.
Marnie Freeman: That was.
Kevin Freeman: That's a death threat.
Marnie Freeman: That was hard.
Kevin Freeman: Yeah, I was.
Marnie Freeman: We'll have to go into. Into that later.
Kevin Freeman: That's another story for another time. But the point is, is that they were running us out of money on.
Marnie Freeman: Purpose when we're just trying to help the country.
Kevin Freeman: We were trying to warn people about economic. You know, I said crazy things. I mean, I said crazy things like, you know, China and Russia want to disrupt, our currency and that we're. We're going to go from 10 trillion in debt to 40 trillion in debt, and they're going to do economic warfare attacks on U.S. and trade attacks and all this. You. That was a conspiracy theory until Donald Trump came to us and told us it was all true. Yeah. No, that's what they wanted to silence me. Because Obama did not want it said that Russia interfered in our election by manipulating our economy. Because he said, it can never be said that a foreign power like Russia would interfere in an election. Unless, of course, it was Donald Trump who got elected. Then, of course, it was Russia.
Marnie Freeman: Russia. Russia, Russia.
Kevin Freeman: Yeah, exactly. But they were trying to silence me. And you remember, out of the blue, we had no money. Out of the blue, XTO Energy, that is now ExxonMobil sends us a document that says, we want to lease the mineral rights under your house.
Marnie Freeman: And we live in a neighborhood not out in the country or anything.
Kevin Freeman: And here, if you accept our offers, $20,000 or something, that, that. Here's a check for $20,000.
Marnie Freeman: Yeah. And we about started crying.
Kevin Freeman: They bought the mineral rights or they leased them. They leased them and the lease is expired.
Marnie Freeman: It expired.
Kevin Freeman: We got that for nothing.
Marnie Freeman: They never drilled.
Kevin Freeman: They never drilled.
Marnie Freeman: They never. They were going to do a sideway drilling and come.
Kevin Freeman: Come that way, but horizontal drilling, yes. Like Landman, you know, not that we watch Landman or anything, but it's like that TV show, Landman. But that wasn't the only time. I remember going out to the mailbox and there was a note, kevin, thank you for what you're doing for our country. And there were two grocery store gift cards in there. It was Christmas time. And I just told you, like, minutes before, we don't have any extra money to buy a bunch of Christmas presents.
Marnie Freeman: And there were presents on our porch for our kids. And I don't know how they knew, except for the Lord and, groceries on the porch several times. It. I mean, we never, like, lost our house or anything. And we live in a fairly large home.
Kevin Freeman: We've been blessed all the way through our life. We're not complaining, but the generosity of God answering prayers and providing for us.
Marnie Freeman: He's always faithful.
Kevin Freeman: He is always faithful. And those gift cards I remember, we bought all the presents because you can buy with a Safeway gift card. You can buy gift cards to other places. And so the presents we gave that year came from that.
Marnie Freeman: I'm, grateful for whoever did that.
Marnie Freeman: Money isn't everything. People are more important than your bank balance
Kevin Freeman: It was a hard road.
Marnie Freeman: Several people probably.
Kevin Freeman: And I want to. I think there's another lesson from life. Money isn't everything. That's an important. You know, I was, when we first got married, I was millionaire. I was earning at one point a lot of money. And, because we did this service to the, to the country, we, we thought we went from millionaire to warrior. and we had no food and no way to eat. Eat while we had food, but we had no way to go out to eat. And I remember our little girl broke up in her piggy bank and brought you her change and said, mom, I want you to get to go to Taco Bueno and get a taco.
Marnie Freeman: Yes. I just started crying. Couldn't believe it.
Kevin Freeman: God's always supplied, but only when we put our focus on him.
Marnie Freeman: That's right.
Kevin Freeman: I know there are people listening who are hurting and we need to see they're hurting. We need to help them like the people helped us. People are more important than your bank balance. That should be the message of Pirate Money Radio. People are more important than your bank balance. We'll be right back with Marnie Freeman and Pirate Money Radio after this break.
Mike Carter: M Pirate Money Radio, helping you give, spend and invest in ways that align with liberty, security and values.
Kevin Freeman: If you have prayer needs, let us know
Kevin Freeman: And I'm joined by my favorite person, Marnie Freeman. And we're just talking about some of the money. We've had good times and we've had bad times.
Marnie Freeman: We've had some really rough times and.
Kevin Freeman: We'Ve had some really blessed times.
Marnie Freeman: We've had some amazing times, and it's.
Kevin Freeman: Been a wild ride, as my father warned you. And there are people that are listening here that are doing really well. And here's what I'm going to say to you. Find somebody that has need and help them like people helped us. And then there are some people that are struggling. And the answer that I'm going to say to you is, look to God, ask God to help you, give you wisdom, direction and so forth, and let God bring the answer. That's how it works.
Marnie Freeman: That's how it works.
Kevin Freeman: Pray the effectual fervent prayer. and if you've got prayer needs, write us Here, @afritemoneyradio.com you can write us and share your story, share your experience, ask us questions, prayer needs, comments, whatever.
Marnie Freeman: We like that. I mean, it really inspires us with what you all have written in. I've been blessed by your comments.
Kevin Freeman: I want to tell you, this morning I was on a radio program, on somebody else's radio program.
Marnie Freeman: Not your radio program.
Kevin Freeman: Right, somebody else's, and not even on afr. And I was talking to them and a caller called in and said, hey, I listened to Pirate Money Radio every Saturday morning, with Kevan Freeman. I just love Kevan and Marnie, I just love listening to you. I thought that was pretty cool. Yeah. So anyway, but if you have prayer needs, let us know and we'll pray for you. And if you have, you know, a lot of people are hurting financially, and we talk about money. It's pirate money. Radio money is in the word. And there are three things you can do with your money. You can give it, you can spend it, you can invest it. Here at Pirate Money Radio, we work to explain solutions that support all three areas in a way that promotes liberty, security and values. Patriot Mobile, it's a mobile phone company. They support the Pirate Money radio program. Patriot Mobile uses US carriers, including AT&T, Verizon and T Mobile, and operates on both Apple and Android phones. More information about the economic war room. Patriot Mobile is [email protected] AFR that's PirateMoneyRadio.com AFR and it was fun. The other day we were with the founder of Patriot Mobile, Glen Story and his wife Jenny. And we're working on.
Marnie Freeman: They're amazing.
Kevin Freeman: Protecting Texas from an invasion. and we've been working hard on that. But then somebody walks up and he says, hey, tell me, have you gotten any, pirate Money Radio or economic war room. And he said, yeah, I get calls on that. So that's cool, because people call them and say, I heard about you on Pirate Money Radio. That's, that's kind of cool.
Kevin: If Pharaoh calls, Kevin will go. I'm happy to do that
All right, so here's the last lesson I want to share. And it's a long. A long story, but it's a great story. And the lesson is, the safest place on earth is the center of God's will.
Marnie Freeman: Right? Even when it looks scary and dangerous and all kinds of things. And you're like, oh, I don't want to do that, Lord. Are you sure that's what you're saying to me?
Kevin Freeman: Well, he made it pretty clear for us. I want to tell about when we were in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and our kids were going to the Worldview Academy at Oklahoma Wesleyan University. I used to be a trustee there. I remember you came home and you said, kevin, there's these great summer camps that our kids can go to. They could go to Summit Ministries when they get a little older, but at this age, they can go to Worldview Academy. And it's like, oh, how am I going to afford that? That was in the deep, dark hole financially. And I'm on the board of Oklahoma Wesleyan University. Go to a board meeting, show up, and they say, hey, by the way, if you've got kids or grandkids that are age, age eligible for this, we're hosting them. We can give them a free summer camp. And as a board member, I got two daughters. Can I send them? Oh, yeah, we'll give you completely free. Room, board, everything free.
Marnie Freeman: That was one of those. We didn't even pray about that.
Kevin Freeman: No, it was a miracle.
Marnie Freeman: That was a little desire of our heart.
Kevin Freeman: And God just got it will provide. And I remember there. And then we went to stay with our friends Jim and Peggy, who run Voice of the. Ran. Voice of the Martyrs at the time. They've retired since then, but in their beautiful home in Bartlesville. And Jim and Peggy Dow, voice of the Martyrs. And Peggy understands that the government's trying to run me out of money. She knows this whole story, that they're trying to bankrupt us. And she said, I had a dream last night, Kevan. Here's my dream. I had a dream that you were Pharaoh, that you were warning America that. That tough economic times were going to be coming and that we needed to prepare for those. So the message. I woke up and said, lord, what do you want me to do with that? If Kevan is Joseph. And Joseph went to Pharaoh to tell Him. I dreamed Kevan was Joseph, not Pharaoh, but not Pharaoh. Kevan's going to see Pharaoh. I think if Pharaoh calls, Kevan, you're supposed to go. That was her message.
Marnie Freeman: That was her message.
Kevin Freeman: I was like, what does that mean? All right, so at the time, if Pharaoh calls, this was 2017, maybe, 2016, 17. Pharaoh called. I think Trump was president, and Pharaoh called. So if Donald Trump calls me, sure, I'll go. I'll go to Washington. I'm happy to do that. And she said, I'm not sure that's it, but if Pharaoh calls, just hear me. You're supposed to go. And I remember, that. That day we went to see your mom. She'd been in the hospital, drove into Tulsa from Bartleville, and the phone rings, and it's our friend Frank Gaffney.
Marnie Freeman: Right? Right.
Kevin Freeman: And Frank says these words. He says, hey, Kevan, the government of Egypt called me, and they wanted a briefing on the Muslim Brotherhood and the economic warfare and all of the aspects of it. And Marisol won't let me go because there's a fatwa on me and it might be dangerous to the Muslim Brotherhood. And so I'm not able to. To go there, even though Sisi's in power. it's a little bit dangerous. I'm known because he's known. He's fought Islam, radical Islam, for quite some time, and he's famous, and he got that. He said, but I'd like it. I think they'd even learn more from you. I think you should go.
Marnie Freeman: And I said, oh, no, no, no, no. We're not. We're not doing it.
Kevin Freeman: If Marisol says no to Frank, then I'm sorry. Marnie says no to Kevan.
Marnie Freeman: That's right.
Kevin Freeman: And that's what she says. Wait. It's a chance to go to Egypt and talk to the government of Egypt. It's so cool.
Marnie Freeman: But then Peggy reminded us.
Kevin Freeman: Yep. And I said, wait a minute. Didn't Peggy say, if Pharaoh calls, Who's more Pharaoh than the government of Egypt? And we prayed about it. We went back, we talked to Jim, and I remember Jim saying, now, this is. Keep in mind. Jim was a full colonel in the Marines. He led a helicopter. He was a helicopter pilot. And he led the helicopter forces for the Marines and flew in dangerous war missions and everything else. And then he was head of voice in the martyrs. So he would go into North Korea with Bibles or China or Iran, and he'd go in and visit persecuted Christians. And he just laughed. He said, the government invited you in, and you're scared to go.
Marnie Freeman: But he did say, I mean, the safest place on Earth is the center of God's will, if that's his will. And apparently it was. You have to do that, otherwise you're outside of God's will. Which is more dangerous.
Kevin Freeman: Yes. And he said, kevin, you could be in Bartlesville. You could step out into the street, traffic could be clear, and you'd get by a bus.
Marnie Freeman: That's right.
Kevin Freeman says he was held by armed men on a flight to Egypt
And you went, so tell us about that.
Kevin Freeman: Yeah, so, it was an amazing thing. I mean, I did everything I could to protect myself. I got the spooks that I worked with, the spies. What's the proper word? The agents, whatever it is. The spooks that I work with in the government.
Marnie Freeman: We live a John Grisham novel.
Kevin Freeman: We do sometimes. They all told me, hey, look, when you get called in, the Intelligence Service is going to debrief you. You're going to. Don't take your phone in. They could hack it in an instant. Don't do this, don't do this, don't do this. So I went and got a burner phone from, the AT&T store. It was a used phone. I got set up, and I set it up. I named it Kevan Travel because it was my travel phone, right? And it was brand new, wiped clean, nothing on it put. Very limited access, but I wanted to be able to call you on the international plan and say, hey, I made it here. I'm safe, I'm alive, and all that. So I got there when the plane landed in Cairo, and they rolled up, they stopped short of the gate, and a group of armed men boarded the plane, and they walked down the row, and they came to my row and my seat, and they looked at me.
Marnie Freeman: And they said, kevin Travel.
Kevin Freeman: That's right, Kevan Travel. And I said, I'm Kevan Freeman. But how do you know Kevan Travel? it's on my.
Marnie Freeman: Because they know everything.
Kevin Freeman: They lit up my phone, apparently, and figured out that that was the name of my phone. They came, found me in the seat, and these armed men took me off the plane, put me in a Jeep and drove me around the airport to a little holding facility. And I am scared, and I go in there, a little holding facility. I'm sitting there, sitting there. And this passport. yeah, here's my passport. And they take it, and they go away for a few minutes, and they come back. I said, okay, your luggage is in the car. We're ready to take you. And they had this beautiful, like, suburban luxury, SUV and they drove me from there to Giza, to the Four Seasons Resort in Giza and walked through metal detectors to get in. And they went boom. Because they have. They're carrying guns. And they took me on a private elevator to a private floor at the Four Seasons and said, here's your suite, Mr. Freeman, and Mike Pompeo was here last week, and here's your suite that you have. It was an unbelievable experience, but it.
Marnie Freeman: Was scary, and it was a good experience. And you got to help them, and they helped you.
Kevin Freeman: I did. But it was the General Intelligence Services, which is this CIA, FBI rolled into one. They took me to the library at Alexandria, and it's beautiful, and Alexandria is beautiful. But every time we would drive somewhere, there were two other cars filled with armed men, and there were armed men in ours just to provide security. And we were there on Ramadan, the last week of Ramadan, on the longest week of the year, the daylight, the longest period. And they said, we know you're a Christian, and so therefore we're going to feed you breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which we had.
Marnie Freeman: Whereas they were fasting till the evening.
Kevin Freeman: And then the sun went down, and then they had a feast, and they wanted to, I was fed so well. The food was so good.
Marnie Freeman: You said you ate too much.
Kevin Freeman: I ate way too much.
Marnie Freeman: Good food.
Kevin Freeman: it was great food. And then on the way out of town, they came and said, what time should we pick you up? And I said, well, four hours before the flight. No, you know, it turns out they ran the sirens and got us to the airport. No traffic. I didn't have to go through the normal customs. I went through the private, secret, diplomat customs, got right on the plane and flew out of the country. It was amazing. that was a great trip. I was in the center of God's will. I got blessed. I got to help them. I learned things that I brought back. and that's the lesson number seven. The safest place on earth is the center of God's will. Now, Mrs. Freeman, we've shared some amazing stories. We've barely scratched the surface of the story.
Marnie Freeman: That's right.
Kevin Freeman: I'll have to have you back as co host so we can go into more Freeman family stories. I hope you've enjoyed this program. I've enjoyed sharing it with you.
Marnie Freeman: I've enjoyed it.
Kevin Freeman: If you have questions, prayer needs, or comments, email [email protected] and we're going to pray. Pray for America to return to God's principles in 2026.
