Two off-duty Marines assigned to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit were assaulted by an anti-American group of men on a busy street in Turkey. The group, who calls themselves the Turkish Youth Union, recorded video of the assault in which they forced a bag over one of the Marine’s heads, and posted it in social media.
The Marines were on a regularly scheduled port visit to Izmir, Turkey. Thankfully, they’re safe now and were uninjured.
