It’s a sad day in America when the top law enforcement officer in a county is so constitutionally illiterate, he doesn’t know how many branches of government there are nor the branch in which he operates. But that is exactly what happened in Mecklenburg County, NC.
Gary McFadden is the Mecklenburg County Sheriff.
When asked if he knew how many branches of government there are he replied “no.” When asked which branch of government he served under as the County Sheriff, he was likewise unable to provide the correct answer.
Constitutional illiteracy is a national plague.
