Tim, Ed and Wesley talk with Steve on top news headlines of the day including a discussion on the latest with Artemis II.
American Family Radio hosts share a pledge to love God and love people
>> Jeff Chamblee: In Matthew 22:37, 40, Jesus said, Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it, love your neighbor as yourself. All the law and the prophets hang on these two commandments. It's Share a Thon on American Family radio. Call now 877-62396. That's 877-616-2396. Or give [email protected] make your pledge and help us love God and love people during shareathon.
>> Tim Wildmon: Hey everybody.
American Family Radio depends on donations from its listeners to survive
Welcome back to welcome to Charathon on American Family Radio. It's day one of our three day Charathon on American Family Radio. This is the three days in the spring. We also have three days in the fall in October, where we bring our financial needs to our listeners and ask you to help us out. We, pass, the virtual offering plate, if you will, and we ask you to please be as generous as you can because we can't make it if we don't have our listeners financially supporting us. We don't have any billionaires that make big donations. We don't have any, you know, we certainly don't get any government money, nor would we take it, like other stations like National Public Radio, we don't get. We were dependent on, you know, $50 a month, $30 a month, $100 a month from you who listen to American Family Radio. That's how we're financially supported. So we are as frugal as you can possibly be in terms of our radio network. We make, my dad's, who started this ministry in 1991, that's the radio, arm of American family association in 1991. We make the dollar stretch as far as it can so that we can be, responsible with the money that you donate and give to American Family Radio. But we want to impact lives, for Jesus Christ. That's the bottom line. And we also want to tell folks what's happening in our country and in our world so that we can be salt and light, so that we can make a difference, and for us as Americans, so that we can protect and defend our freedoms and our liberty and our way of life and the things that make our country unique from other countries in the world, namely our Christian heritage, which, you can research and easily find out how our founding fathers and our forefathers depending on the God of the Bible, to sustain them and to give them strength and courage and wisdom. All those things that God gave to our forefathers that made our country the most special place on earth in terms of, you know, human, rights and, you know, education and economic, prosperity. so many. There's a reason why people want to come to the US from around the world. They want to come here, and that is, they see what we have, and what we have was provided to us by God. And it makes us, it's quite frankly, a unique place on the planet. that doesn't mean, I don't mean to sound arrogant, as an American, but that's just the truth. That's just a matter of fact. you're listening to Share a Thon on American Family Radio. If you want to make a gift and be as generous as you possibly can, we would very much appreciate it. Here's the number. 877-616-2396. That's the number to call us to make your gift and be a call. Somebody will answer the phone at that number who is a volunteer or they're one of our staff members, and they'll answer that phone number and they'll take your, donation over the phone. If you can make it a monthly gift, you know, reoccurring monthly gift, however you want to do that, debit card, credit card, bank draft, whatever, however you want to do it, we can set it up for you. And that way you don't have to remember every month to make a gift. And we can budget. Quite frankly, that helps us budget here here on American Family Radio. Here's the phone number again. 8776-1623-9677-7616, 2396.
We have officially booted Chris. We have. Who do we have now? Steve Paisley Jordal
Wesley, Ed and Krish are in the studio in Tupelo.
>> Wesley Wildmon: We have. We have officially booted Krish. Krish is no longer with.
>> Tim Wildmon: Oh, that's right. it was a vote.
>> Wesley Wildmon: It was.
>> Ed Vitagliano: We did. We voted and we said we need another baby boomer in here.
>> Tim Wildmon: Who do we have?
>> Ed Vitagliano: Steve Paisley Jordal.
>> Steve Jordahl: Hey, Tim, how's the witness protection program treating you there?
>> Tim Wildmon: So far, so good.
>> Steve Jordahl: Good.
>> Tim Wildmon: I guess you'll find out if it doesn't work.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Folks, what Steve is referring to is Tim is in Washington, D.C. the nation's capital. And so he is on with us via Zoom, I think. And, he wears his ball cap. It casts a shadow on his face, and it does look like he's, he's in witness protection or that's bad.
>> Tim Wildmon: I can't see myself. I can now in the window, I guess. So I didn't know how far my hat was pulled down.
>> Steve Jordahl: It's good now.
>> Tim Wildmon: Is it good now? Okay. All right, so Steve's with us. Ed, Wesley, Tim, my thanks to the fun folks here, our friends at Family Research Council, for allowing me to come in and use their studios to do this broadcast today.
Roy, thanks for sharing your testimony on American Family Radio
and Ed and Wesley Steve are back home, and I say back home, back home. For me, in, in Tupelo, it's Sheriffon. And, again, we. Let's hear from one of our listeners, and then we'll come back and jump into the news with Steve.
>> Caroline: Hey, this is Roy. I'm from Ferguson, Mississippi, and I've started listening to AFR on 91.7 on the coast of Mississippi. And then I heard they had an app, so I downloaded the app. Because I'm a truck driver, I'm on the road all the time, so I don't get to go to traffic church every Sunday. So I started listening to the app, and now I listen to it every day. I get taught, I get blessed, I get laughter. I mean, some of you guys is just, just crazy. But I really appreciate AFA and AF very, very much, and I love you guys and I pray God blesses you tremendously.
>> Jeff Chamblee: Thank you.
>> Ed Vitagliano: That, just. Man, I'm just telling you that those testimonies just bless me.
>> Wesley Wildmon: What was his name again? Roy. Yeah, Yeah, I think we. It seems like we get a different Roy each year with a similar voice. No, that's a great testimony. I, I always enjoy listening to. You know, I have the opportunity with, the work that I do at AFA to meet a lot of our listeners and a lot of our supporters traveling across the country from year to year. And, I've lost count now. I've got it on my laptop upstairs. I've probably done close to 70 events. Small, large, all different kinds. And I'd always able to come back and share a testimony like that or more with our staff at, in our devotion time. Here's the number. 877-616-2396. That's 877-616-2396. Or visit AO4. Now, again, like I joked in the first hour, one of my buddies is mailing a check in. Yeah, they still do that apparently. but yeah, you can mail a check in too, if you want to. But right now, during Sheriff down, we encourage you to do these 287-7616-2396 or visit afr.net and help us continue, to raise funds so that we can do the work that we're doing here. We continue to grow, some of y' all may want to share some of the areas that we grow in, but we've been continuing to grow. We're expanding our territory ministry and from our American Family Studios, which about speaking about that part of our ministry, that branch of our ministry, we've got a really, really good 250 year anniversary short mini documentary that we are going to release in July. for to rec. To represent our country and really looking forward to that. things like that or ministry opportunities like that that we're able to do, that we're able to stay on top of things and have resources for you like that. I don't know the name of it off the top of my head, but we have a short documentary that reminds us of our history and our heritage, our Christian heritage of America. And it's put on By Steve, McDowell, Tim Barton, I believe Rick Greene's in it. My brother Walker.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Yeah.
>> Wesley Wildmon: So.
>> Tim Wildmon: All right, Steve, what's happening?
New York City has issued a preliminary racial equity plan
>> Steve Jordahl: Hey, I thought maybe we should start by checking in with NewSong York City. How's that? is that okay with everybody?
>> Tim Wildmon: NewSong York City.
>> Steve Jordahl: NewSong York City.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Let's do it.
>> Steve Jordahl: Zora Mamdani, the new mayor there has issued his preliminary citywide racial equity plan.
>> Tim Wildmon: Oh good.
>> Steve Jordahl: Yes, I know we've all, we all need one of those.
>> Steve Jordahl: Yeah, he has, he has harnessed all of the different,
>> Steve Jordahl: Yep. All of the different, what's the word I'm looking for? red and yellow back.
>> Tim Wildmon: Red, yellow, black and white.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Well, apparently NewSong York City must be a very racist city. Yeah, he needs to spend so much time kind of clearing that up.
>> Steve Jordahl: All the different programs, agencies. That's what I'm looking for. He's got, he's got 180 or so agencies and, and this racial equity plan is distributed through all of them. They're going to have equity pay audits so make sure that everybody's across the same is getting no one. White people aren't getting more than black people. Targeted recruitment. He's going to anti bias and anti racism training. He is going to do racial equity impact assessments embedded into every decision they make. But Tim, he's running into the same problem that Governor Kathi Hochul ran into. You remember when Governor Hochul told the people down in Florida to get back up to NewSong York because they had a patriotic duty to pay their taxes?
>> Ed Vitagliano: Yeah.
>> Steve Jordahl: Well, yeah, Zoron is kind of Facing the same thing. This is what he had to say. Cut nine.
>> Joseph Parker: amidst being in the wealthiest city in the wealthiest country in the history of the world, we already see an exodus of working in middle class NewSong Yorkers. So I don't have a hesitation in asking those who make the most amount of money in the city or the most profits in the city to pay a little bit more so that everyone can actually stay in this city.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Yeah, well, first of all, like I said, it's terrible. It must be terrible to be the mayor of a city like NewSong York City that is so racist that they have to take, go to such lengths to try to cure that sickness in their city. I'm just, I'm glad that all the states that are down here in the south, don't seem to have the kind of racism they have up there. and so, man, Mayor Momdani, you work on your city, you get, you get that city less racist, by, putting WOKE policies in place.
>> Tim Wildmon: I, I still think Zoran Mandami would be a great superhero name.
>> Ed Vitagliano: I really think super villain, maybe.
>> Tim Wildmon: He's super villain. Okay.
>> Ed Vitagliano: He's coming to a neighborhood near you to steal what you have.
>> Steve Jordahl: Yeah.
>> Ed Vitagliano: And hand it out.
>> Tim Wildmon: Enough, Enough NewSong York talk. What's next on the agenda there?
>> Wesley Wildmon: That didn't take long, dad, already enough of it.
>> Tim Wildmon: With the news stories about NewSong York. It's kind of like visiting. You know, you want a nice place to visit, but you wouldn't want to live there.
Canada is considering a bill that would make Bible reading a hate crime
>> Steve Jordahl: How about Canada? Can we check in with Canada? Canada.
>> Tim Wildmon: Canada.
>> Steve Jordahl: Oh, Canada. Canada is considering a bill. They're calling it Bill C9. It is the Combating Hate act and it has, passed, and it is going to the Canadian Senate where it will be voted on. Now, there is concern with this because it has a new definition of hate that would include, it could include, if you offend somebody just by reading certain passages from the Bible. You read Romans 1, you might be charged with a hate crime.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Just reading it. Just reading it publicly, you mean? Yeah, to where other people can hear.
>> Steve Jordahl: I don't think they know what you're doing in private.
>> Ed Vitagliano: right.
>> Steve Jordahl: Well, they, they in, in England, they're arresting people for silently praying on the side of the road. Yeah, that's true. So they, they, they can reach a lot farther than you would think. Yeah, but this one is for publicly. Maybe a pastor's preaching on it in church.
>> Tim Wildmon: You know, that sounds ridiculous and it is. But you know what? in Canada, for years and years, I remember, Focus on the Family. Steve, you work there. I remember hearing from maybe Dr. Dobson himself, or was it maybe another friend of m mine there at the ministry. Focus on the Family. They used to have to edit their programs are, are not aram entire or weren't or they weren't allowed to air them in Canada. The same programs that would air in the US Couldn't air in Canada because they were teaching about, you know, Romans 1, for example, where homosexuality is listed as a sin before God. And, and that was. That had. That couldn't be spoken on. and there were other things too, that couldn't be spoken on the airwaves.
>> Ed Vitagliano: They could lose their license. Couldn't.
>> Tim Wildmon: Yeah, they lose their license.
>> Steve Jordahl: It was all.
>> Tim Wildmon: So what I'm saying. What I'm saying is kind of what we're doing here and saying here is that we have to fight here in the US to protect and defend our religious freedom and our freedom of speech and our way of life and our liberty. and so that's one of the things we do here at AFA and AFR is we try to defend those principles and those rights, so that we don't become like Canada, for example, and much of Europe is the same way as Canada is. Go ahead, Ed.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Well, and I was just going to encourage our listeners. That's why we have the Share a thon is, God has called us to stand up for righteousness and to stand up for the gospel and to stand up for a worldview through which we have gotten the freedoms we have in this country that they are giving away or actually being taken away by God. Haters who don't want to hear what the Lord has to say. They don't want to live their lives according to the scriptures. And so that is why when we have shareathon, we do this twice a year and this is our spring Share a Thon. We come to our listeners and say, help keep this ministry on the air. And so we lay our, as Tim says, lay our financial needs before our listeners and ask you to be generous in giving to this ministry. Here's the number where you can do that. This number will take you just a few yards down the hallway to Sheraton Central where we have staff members and volunteers who will be only to happy to answer your call, answer any questions you might have. But to take your information, if you would like to give 877-616-239, 687-76-162396 is the number to Call or you can give safely and securely [email protected] is it
>> Steve Jordahl: too late to play a sound clip from my Canadian friend?
Bill to ban Bible preaching in Canada passes House, now goes to Senate
>> Ed Vitagliano: No, we've got, we still have another 40 minutes.
>> Steve Jordahl: Yeah, I know, I just, but I did, I, I talked with a pastor up there named named Artur Palowski.
>> Ed Vitagliano: We've heard him before.
>> Steve Jordahl: Yeah, we have. He's from Poland. He grew up in, behind the iron curtain in Poland. And he is a very courageous pastor. Been in prison several times up in Canada. He was the pastor that decided to talk to the truckers during the pandemic when they were, when the Canadian government was stealing their money, was freezing all their bank accounts because they were defying the government's COVID vaccine mandates.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Yeah. Didn't he also confront. There's a viral video when they came to his church, didn't they, they dragged him away.
>> Steve Jordahl: Yeah, yeah. So anyway, he's talking in this clip about the test that the church in Canada failed during COVID and he says they've got C9 as a second shot at this that God has given them. Let's listen to cut 10 for me.
>> Tim Wildmon: It's, you know, regular day in office, if you will, but you, you should be worried because if you are not trained to fight, to stand, you're going to cave just like you did during the COVID era. 99.9% of the churches closed, pastors caved in, they broke, they panicked, they were terrified. I mean courage is almost unheard of in our Canadian churches. Now we have a second test and that test I pray and I hope that the church will pass because if we will not, some more tests are coming. We are living in a modern day Egypt, if you will. And you are dealing with pharaohs. Pharaohs believe that they are God. So whatever they say, it goes.
>> Ed Vitagliano: He's a very courageous man. And this is interesting that this bill has passed or is about.
>> Steve Jordahl: It's in the middle of the process. It's passed the house and it is going to the Senate for voters
>> Ed Vitagliano: convicted to pass in Canada. In Canada, it would be interesting if Bible believing pastors throughout Canada set aside a certain Sunday and said, hey, we're preaching on this passage. We're preaching on Romans 1, every one of us. You want to lock us all up? Show yourselves the left in Canada which really controls politics in that country. Show yourselves to be the fascist that you really are. Come and put God fearing preachers in prison or in jail for preaching the truth of God's word. What a Confrontation that would be.
>> Steve Jordahl: I think that's what Pastor Artur is hoping would happen. He is kind of skeptical given their history, that would happen.
>> Wesley Wildmon: But you know, this is a reminder for us to be proactive in our faith and to live it out continuously. Because as ridiculous as it sounds, this goes on all across the world and goes and at times had appeared itself in our country and that's people trying to suppress our Christians belief, our Christian belief in living it out. And again it sounds ridiculous but it's, it's a real threat out there. And you know, so many times, every day, when you hear stuff like this, you think well m. It's not going to be me and not me. But the reality is even if it ends up not being you, is other brothers and sisters in Christ who are doing the very things that we should be doing even more of individually, which is living out his faith. And so, is there a I'm guessing there's going to be like an ADF version in Canada that will defend him or there.
>> Steve Jordahl: Well, he has had some defense. There are legal Christian conservative legal forums in Canada that can do the same kind of thing.
>> Wesley Wildmon: Sure.
>> Steve Jordahl: But he has spent a lot of time in jail. a lot of time. And so he was in solitary for months and months. they, they really came down hard on him, made an example of him.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Yeah.
>> Steve Jordahl: And it did, it seemed to chill the entire religious free speech or religious speech in Canada of the churches. It was all right.
American Family Radio is holding a share a thon this spring
>> Tim Wildmon: It's Share a thon on American Family Radio. Sharathon. You might ask, what is that, Ed? What's our theme for Sherithon this spring?
>> Ed Vitagliano: Yeah, our theme is love God, love people. That is taken directly by the way we have folks here. We have a team that gets together as we approach a new share a thon. They pray and they discuss. They search the scriptures for what they feel like the Lord is leading them to make as the theme and the verse that they have chosen. That's probably a familiar verse to a lot of our listeners. If you've been in church any length of time is from Matthew 22:37, 40. Jesus says love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it, love your neighbor as yourself. All the law and prophets hang on these two commandments. So for the rest of today and all day tomorrow and all day on Thursday, we are asking our listeners to join with us and to help meet the needs of this ministry so we can stay on the air for another six months until our fall share a thon. And the number for you to call if you want to do that is 877-616-2396. That's 877-616-2396. If you call that number, you will interact with one of our staff members or some of the volunteers who come to help us at Charathon.
We have two premium offers for you for a one time gift
Do want to make mention of the fact that we do have two premium offers for you, just as a way of saying thank you for one time.
>> Tim Wildmon: We have two premiums.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Not just one, but two, two premium offers.
>> Tim Wildmon: What are the offers, Ed?
>> Ed Vitagliano: Yes, for a one time gift of $150 or more, you can give as much as you want. You will receive a, ah, five pack of the 250th anniversary pocket constitution. It is from and produced by AFA. Very nice, slick, blue and gold cover. And we encourage you to get five of these. You can carry them.
>> Tim Wildmon: Hold them up, hold them up so I can see them.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Okay.
>> Tim Wildmon: Can you. There you go.
>> Ed Vitagliano: All right.
>> Tim Wildmon: Yes, that's good.
>> Ed Vitagliano: It is very nice. And so if you find yourself, some where you have some time on your hands, you just read it. And the Declaration of Independence is also included. It's a five pack because we encourage you to give these away to friends, family, co workers, neighbors, what have you, so they can also familiarize themselves with the Constitution. Now that is for a one time gift of $150 or more. If you become a great commission partner with an ongoing repeated monthly gift of $30 or more, you'll not only get the five pack of the pocket constitution, you also receive a five pack of the special 250th in God we Trust wristbands. Those also are meant to be, worn and then shared by giving them away. 877-616-2396 is the number to call or you can give safely and securely [email protected] thank you.
Tim Wildman: Many listeners call and say we listen all day long
>> Tim Wildmon: All right, let's hear, let's hear from one of our listeners and we'll come back with more of the news of the day. And I got couple other things I want to mention, so let's take a break for, one of our listener testimonies.
>> Jeff Chamblee: Thank you American Family Radio and thank Reverend Wildmon. I do thank American Family Radio, for allowing me to listen every morning and just all throughout the day and pray the Charathon goes well in that Precious name of, my personal wedding today is the Lord Jesus Christ. God bless you all that American Family Radio and God bless our great nation, the greatest nation on God.
>> Tim Wildmon: All right. What a wonderful testimony there from one of our listeners. Many listeners call and say we listen all day long.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Yeah.
>> Tim Wildmon: And we, we love to hear that people listen all day long because we do have, I think, you know, a great lineup, if I didn't think that we change it. But I think we have a great, lineup, to borrow from President Trump. Nobody's ever seen anything like it. Nobody's ever seen anything like our lineup of shows here on American Family Radio. But we do have a great, host and co host, throughout the day, in the evening, here on American Family Radio. Let me mention, one thing. And then I, was at an event recently where I was. It was in Oklahoma and a gentleman came up to me and he said, I listened to you guys and I financially support you guys and I want to, I want to talk to somebody about leaving some property to you, in my will.
>> Tim Wildmon: And, and I said, well, we have somebody. We haven't, we have a branch of our ministry who can help you look at that. And so I say that because, there are people who want to consider leaving, you know, us, American Family Association, American Family Radio in their will or in their estate planning and things of that nature. I'm not, I don't mean to sound like I'm too bold here to ask. I'm not really asking per se. I'm just saying we do, have that ability to help you if you want to, look at that. you know, so we have people who, you know, do leave us in their wills and. But you have to plan for that. So, I know that. Wesley, what's the website for our AFA Foundation? If people want to read more about what I've just described here.
>> Wesley Wildmon: AFA foundation.net AFA foundation.net and you'll, you'll speak to either my sister Wriley or my wife Chelsea or their great assistant Jessica. The. One of the, you'll speak to one of the three of them and they will, help you with that. Of course, charitable gift annuities is the, the thing they do the most. But the wheel, wheels and property, there's plenty of ways that you can financially support the work that we do. And while those are not the most common, we, we definitely offer those as an option because we know that that is a way that people Want to give to us?
>> Ed Vitagliano: Yeah. 877-616-2396 is the number to call if you want to give during our spring share a thon. 877-616-2396. You can also give [email protected] yeah, we
>> Tim Wildmon: can also, if people want, to do a reverse mortgage with us, we can help you with that too.
>> Wesley Wildmon: Yeah, sure.
>> Tim Wildmon: Not just, you know, Thom, Selleck's not the only one that could do that. We could do that here. Yeah. Yeah. I'm just kidding. Hello, this is Tim Wildmon. American Family Radio has blessed me with
>> Caroline: a job, a platform, a platform for your sometimes wacky ideas and many, many wonderful co workers. not all, but many, wonderful co workers. Thank you.
>> Ed Vitagliano: My name is Stacey Fowler. I'm vice president here at American Family Association. I am over the human resources department for American Family. And, so I grew up knowing about AFA because my dad was very involved and actually was on the board of directors when I was a child. and then he came to work at AFA in 1993. And, as I raised, boys, me and my husband, I stayed home. I was a stay at home mom. And, once I decided that it was time where I felt the Lord calling me to go to work full time, the Lord just laid it on my heart to reach out to see if there was anything, available at afa. And, wow. He opened doors just very quickly. I was thinking maybe about a year from then. And the next day they're telling me I need to get in a resume and an application. And anyway, the Lord knew better than I did and, just so blessed to be here. And I started working as an assistant in the HR department. And when my boss retired, they asked me to be vice president over hr. So AFA is crucial with the biblical worldview. We need to look at everything through the lens of the Bible and, the truth of the Bible. That's the straightedge. And so AFA is crucial in that it's unwavering, never bending, but also in a, in a loving, caring way because we want to take as many people to have him with us as we can.
>> Wesley Wildmon: Hi, this is Lisa McHugh. I'm calling from Hutchinson, Kansas. I regularly turn on American, Family Radio when I'm working in the kitchen or I'm driving in the car. And, I'm also a monthly supporter and I just really needed some encouragement. I am a widow with an adult daughter with special needs who's gone through a particularly difficult year. So I turned on the radio yesterday afternoon to Dr. Nursoma, who was interviewing Peter Rosenberger with, Hope for the Caregiver, which I regularly listened to. But it was just what I needed to hear at just the right time. And I had prayed like, lord, I just need some encouragement. And I turned the radio on, and the Lord provided encouragement through that program. So often he does that when I turn on a radio station and just lifts my heart and helps me to keep moving forward with the Lord.
>> Jeff Chamblee: Jesus told us to love God with all our heart, soul and mind and to love our neighbors as ourselves. It's Share a Thon on American Family Radio. Call 877-616-2396 or give [email protected] make your pledge and help us love God and love people during Share a Thon.
American Family Radio is asking its listeners to help financially this Share a Thon
>> Tim Wildmon: Welcome back to Share a Thon, everybody, on American Family Radio. Thanks for listening. I'm Tim Wildmon with Ed Battagliano, Wesley Wildmon and Steve Jordal. And we are here to the top of the hour. And, after that, a new team will be coming on and taking, you through some of the rest of the afternoon here on American Family Radio. It's our Share a Thon. So we're taking time to ask, you to help us financially. We can't make it if we don't have our listeners write checks or make donations. Especially if you give, we'd ask you to give monthly, be a, you know, bank draft or credit card, debit card, however you want to do it. We can help you with that. Make it very simple and easy. That way you don't have to think about it. You can just count on your monthly donation as helping us out here at American Family Radio and also helps us very much to budget. So, we appreciate any and all gifts. But, if you can make that a monthly, gift and donation in your budget, we would very, very much appreciate it. Here's the phone number to reach us. If you want to call and do just what I've said here, do just what I've asked about, ask, you to do. And for those who've already made a gift earlier this morning or you gave in the mail prior to Share a Thon, we, we haven't forgot about you. We say thank you. Thank you. Thank you very, very much for your, for your gift. Here's the phone number eight to reach us, 877-616-239-687-76162396. Or if you want to give online, it's very simple to do. And it's just. Afr.net afr.net afr.net Again, Tim, Ed, Wesley and Steve.
NASA apparently did an ad for the Nutella brand on a spacecraft
go ahead, Ed.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Well, Steve, you have something. This, about this. The, Artemis 2. Yeah, that, that. I. I've just been kind of begging you to do this. This is hilarious. You showed me this in our story meeting this morning.
>> Steve Jordahl: Yeah. So I. I don't think they meant to, do an ad for the Nutella brand, but they ended up doing an ad. So they were doing a live shot, and the astronauts were. And apparently, apparently a shelf opened up and out flies a jar of Nutella. And it just goes floating across the screen. You can see the brand is beautiful as ever. And then it goes away. Nutella, I think, has already put it as an ad the best because it's public space.
>> Ed Vitagliano: It's public. It's a NASA.
>> Steve Jordahl: Yeah.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Broadcast.
>> Steve Jordahl: and so I've asked, Brent. He's put this up. If you want to see. You can go to our,
>> Ed Vitagliano: It looks like cgi. It looks like something they would do in a Hollywood movie. They're floating in space and floating by the camera. Is this. Now, I don't particularly care for Nutella.
>> Steve Jordahl: No, I like it.
>> Ed Vitagliano: You know, a lot of people do. I think Krish, Woodward earlier said he. He really likes it, but it's a perfect ad for the brand as it floats by. And so, like you said, they. That they're probably going to go ahead and use.
>> Steve Jordahl: And it is on our Facebook page.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Yeah.
>> Steve Jordahl: If you go to our Today's Issues Facebook page, Brent has, loaded that up where you can go see it, but. Yeah. How'd you like to be, the Nutella brand manager sitting there going, whoa. Yeah, yeah, that'll work.
>> Wesley Wildmon: That'll work. I didn't see that. I got to see this here. So you're gonna, you're gonna put this up on the Facebook.
>> Ed Vitagliano: It's on our Facebook page.
>> Wesley Wildmon: It is now.
>> Ed Vitagliano: And so it shows the astronauts up there. They're doing their work. And then here you're going to see there it goes floating. It's just floating by, just as.
>> Wesley Wildmon: As plain as day. Yeah, yeah. My son's a big Nutella fan, so.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Well, now, what is that made out of nuts or something?
>> Steve Jordahl: It's, hazelnuts, I think.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Hazelnuts.
>> Steve Jordahl: Yeah, it tastes like.
>> Tim Wildmon: But you, guys, are you surprised by this? On the outside of the spacecraft, it says Nutella.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Like nascar.
>> Tim Wildmon: Yeah, they're a corporate sponsor of the.
>> Steve Jordahl: Well, they are now. I don't know if they were before. Ah, they sure are now.
>> Ed Vitagliano: I think you should put stuff on bread like peanut butter, like God intended. I mean, that's what the apostles used. This Nutella stuff. I don't know what the world's coming to, but anyway, that's my two cents.
Ryan Jennings saved his two kids when they got caught in a riptide
>> Tim Wildmon: All right. All right, next story. Steve.
>> Steve Jordahl: All right. I want to give, some credit to a guy. This is a, kind of a real tragic story, but it shows the love and commitment that a dad can have to his family. There was a family, the Jennings family, that went down, Florida to visit relatives in south Florida.
>> Ed Vitagliano: They're from Maine.
>> Steve Jordahl: They're from Maine. Ah. And, the father, his name is Rhyen Jennings, was watching. He had two of his kids, a 12 year old son and a 9 year old daughter who were out swimming in the beach. And they got, caught in a riptide. And the dad sees him floating out and he rushes into the water to try to get them. He reaches the girl, he picks her up, and he throws her out of the riptide, out of the current. A riptide flows directly away from the
>> Ed Vitagliano: shore, almost like a river in the ocean.
>> Steve Jordahl: Right. And the way to get out of it, if you've grown up around the beach, you learn you swim parallel to the shore. You don't try to swim against it.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Right. Because you'll tire out.
>> Steve Jordahl: Yeah. you swim parallel to the shore and eventually you'll get out of the, the current. Well, he threw his daughter out and then he got his son and guided him, saved his two kids, but he lost his life. His name is Rhyen Jennings. He's a coach and a father from Maine, and his wife Emily is now a widow. And, this is the dedication and love that a dad has. What a dad's supposed to do.
>> Ed Vitagliano: This is what dads do. They provide for their family. They love, they lead their family. this American Family association is very big on family and they protect and sometimes that means doing, with their. Listen, we got members in the military. there are women who are serving as well. But there are a lot of men who are dads. Not all of them are dads, obviously, but there are dads and they're protecting all of us. They're putting their lives on the line. Same thing with first responders. so this was an act of heroism and we said this is what dads do. Very sad in this case. But those two kids are going to grow up and survive because their dad laid down his life for his children.
>> Steve Jordahl: There's a GoFundMe account that's been set up for the family.
>> Ed Vitagliano: How does that work, by the way? If, if some of our listeners go, hey, I may want to.
>> Steve Jordahl: I think you can go on to GoFundMe. You can type in Rhyen Jennings. Okay, Jennings. Type in the name, and, we'll get to it.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Anyway, it's. That's, that's quite a story. Ah.

The 2014 Masters golf tournament starts Thursday in Augusta, Georgia
>> Steve Jordahl: Hey, Tim, you sent around a story, an interesting story about a realtor who is going to be playing golf here coming up. this is it this weekend, at the Masters.
>> Tim Wildmon: Yeah, the Masters. The Masters golf tournament starts Thursday.
>> Steve Jordahl: His name is Brandon Holtz, and he, he was a. He's an amateur golfer and he entered the, Mid America Amateur. He won the Mid America Amateur amateur competition. He's 39 years old. So he has been given an invitation to the Masters and the US Open this year, and he'll be competing. Has an amateur ever won the Masters? Tim, do you know?
>> Tim Wildmon: I don't think so, unless it was Bobby Jones. because that, that, that's a golfer. Only golfers know that name, probably. But that's like going back to the Babe Ruth era. I'm talking about when he, when he played golf and he was an amateur, never became a professional. He's the one that actually created the Masters tournament in Georgia. He, I think he bought the land and made and developed it to make it into the golf course that it is, today. So. So, but, yeah, but this gentleman that you're talking about is a, amateur golf player in Illinois. Right.
>> Steve Jordahl: He is from Illinois, so he's a.
>> Tim Wildmon: He's a real estate agent.
>> Steve Jordahl: Yep.
>> Tim Wildmon: And he qualified through a tournament to play in the Masters. So that's really the dream of a dream of a lifetime. So he'll be a real estate agent from Illinois, playing with all the, professionals there. Roy McElroy, and all of them in the Masters tournament.
>> Steve Jordahl: three. Three amateurs I'm looking up have, finished second. Second. Ken Venturi, Frank, Stranahan and Charlie Coe. they both, they all three came in second in their, in their respective years. But no one's ever won. You're right. no one's ever won the Masters.
>> Ed Vitagliano: It's an amateur.
>> Steve Jordahl: Yeah. in this article, I found it interesting, Tim, and maybe you know about this, but, he's been, his family has been a, fan of the Masters, for his whole life. So he's been there a lot. They have, two. What are, I'm trying to find the, the phrase two. All, passes. These are passes that you can. That you can't buy anymore. they stopped taking, the applications in 2000, but you, you. So these are passed down. Tim, are you aware of this, what they're called?
>> Tim Wildmon: What now?
>> Steve Jordahl: Are you aware of the Masters? There's a, there's a, a pass that you can. The Masters can give you for all four days. And it. They're. They're not offering them anymore, so they're like season tickets to the Cubbies. You have, you can pass them down to the Greene Bay Packers. You can pass them down to family members. Yeah, this guy's family, these passes. So he's, he is, his dad's
>> Ed Vitagliano: going to be his caddy, isn't he?
>> Steve Jordahl: Yeah, I think, Did you read that? I didn't read that, but yeah.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Anyway, that's a feel good story.
>> Steve Jordahl: Yeah.
>> Ed Vitagliano: And, Tim, do you usually typically watch the Masters?
>> Tim Wildmon: I do, I do. As a golfer, I'm very interested in the Masters tournaments, kind of the super bowl of golf, if you will. Now, there are other, There are other tournaments that are very high profile, like the US Open, for example. But the Masters is certainly, Yeah. Many consider it the premier golf tournament each year. Yeah.
>> Steve Jordahl: What is it about the course that's so difficult?
>> Tim Wildmon: Well, for me, every golf course is difficult. The Masters Tournament, for those who know anything about it, basically it's the greens that they play on are so, so hard to putt on.
>> Wesley Wildmon: Yeah.
>> Tim Wildmon: So usually whoever can get on the green and putt the best is, usually comes out the winner of the tournament.

Vince gives money to American Family Radio during share a thon
>> Caroline: Hello, my name is Vince. I'm from Topeka, Kansas. I run a, trash route here in Topeka. when I fire that truck up in the morning, the radio goes on until that truck gets shut off. Folks, this is a great time, an awesome time to be alive. what I'd like to say is just knowing how much the Father loves each and Every one of us, he give us his only begotten son. So what I'm doing is I give to the radio station. I let them, take a monthly, payment out of my checking, account. And it is a blessing. How God blesses me through it is I'm able to give them money for their radio station. And the blessing to me is to hear someone, turn their life over to Jesus. You know what? That's what it is about. That is exactly what it's about. You know, that is the biggest blessing I could get from God himself, is to hear someone else turn their life over to Jesus. That's one less soul to the devil. Folks, I love this radio station, and I'd like to. To see it keep going on. So we gotta also hold on to our freedoms. I'd like to say thank you to American Family radio station and for everything you do. I like everything. I like the whole package. Thank you and God bless.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Well, and if you're wondering, that was Tim and I playing that snappy music in the background.
>> Steve Jordahl: I was wondering. Yeah, I'm glad you cleared that up.
>> Wesley Wildmon: So those are kind of listeners I like. You can do no wrong.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Yes.
>> Wesley Wildmon: Listen, he's, very encouraging when he.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Yeah, very, very encouraging. And he was encouraging to give, too. I like that. So, thank you for that wonderful testimony.
>> Wesley Wildmon: Let me give the.

>> Wesley Wildmon: Yeah, yeah.
>> Ed Vitagliano: There were people one because it was Iron man versus Captain America.
>> Wesley Wildmon: Uh-huh.
>> Ed Vitagliano: People would wear a T shirt, whether they were team cap or team Iron Man. And so you're saying we need to have T shirts for Team Wesley and Team Tim?
>> Wesley Wildmon: yeah. Well, you know, it's being. It's been asked.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Yeah, yeah.
>> Wesley Wildmon: Somebody's asked for that as I travel. Somebody. Somebody, somebody.
>> Ed Vitagliano: They. They do.
>> Wesley Wildmon: They do. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, Dad, I do. When I travel, I do get to hear occasionally, they like how you and I share a little bit of bad, a little bit of banner, and then we have occasionally slightly different views on some of the issues. And so people appreciate that a lot. But I would. I would say 90% or more, especially the core issues that we're in line with. And it's on our [email protected] that's. That's what we believe. You go to afa.net click on about, and then there we have, I'm sorry, not on about. You can go on about. And you can see our spokesperson, some of our press releases. But if you go to, Where is our. We have our. Like our mission statement. Not our mission statement, but our statement of belief. Where can I find that? It's supposed to be pretty obvious about a.
About afa. I'm on Team Tim. By the way, I'm looking on my pay stub at sign Tim. Is that right?

Give us our theme one more time before we go off the air
>> Tim Wildmon: All right. You're listening to shareathon. Ed, it's our, Give us our theme one more time before we go off the air for this segment. We'll stay on the air. We have news, and then we got other, hosts coming on.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Yeah. It's our Love God, Love people. Share a Thon. That is the theme for our spring Share a Thon. As I mentioned, earlier, we do have a team of folks who, in the run up to a shareathon, who take time together to pray and ask the Holy Spirit for guidance and for a scripture reference for a theme for the Share a Thon. And the scripture reference for our Love God, Love people. Share a Thon is from Matthew 22, 37:40, where Jesus exhorts us all to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it. Love your neighbor as yourself. All the law and prophets of. Hang on these two commandments. So that is the theme of our spring share a thon. Again, the number to give, if you would like to give, to American Family radio is 877-616-2396. Folks, light up the phones and keep our, the folks in Sheriff on Central, keep them busy, because if you don't, you know what, they go into the hallway and they eat our snacks. And then when we get off the air, there's, you know, there's nothing left. Keep them busy till we get off the, the lines here in a couple of minutes.
>> Wesley Wildmon: At least. Give the TI or the. Yeah, the TI team another 15 minutes.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Yes.
>> Wesley Wildmon: Because we're going to wrap it up in a couple minutes. That gives us time to get over there, get our coke, our Cheez Its, and. Yeah, yeah, so keep it busy.
>> Ed Vitagliano: It's all. It's all about our. Our own greedy needs.
>> Wesley Wildmon: That's it. Yep.
What are you going to do after the Witness Protection Program
All right, dad, so what are you going to do after the Witness Protection Program?
>> Tim Wildmon: Well, probably, I don't know. I haven't thought about that. Yeah, you got to get past that first.
>> Ed Vitagliano: That's a big hurdle.
>> Tim Wildmon: Plans for tomorrow. Yeah. You know, I just want to thank everybody who's, who supported, especially those who supported us over the years. It really means a lot to us to know that people have stuck with us and believe in our ministry and what we're trying to do. My dad started this, because he wanted to make an impact on our country for the cause of Jesus Christ and also for the, you know, for. For the Constitution and, And our. And our freedoms and liberties and rights to live out our faith here in our country. And that's very, very important to us. And that's part of our main mission is to, you know, to save our country. I know we can't save it. Only God can. But we need to be, salt and light as Matthew Chapter 5 tells us to be. Amen.
>> Ed Vitagliano: And. Yeah, amen.
Please pray for us to have wisdom and to hear from God
And folks, let me just ask you too, please pray for us. Please pray for us to have wisdom and to hear from God and to keep our integrity and faithfulness to the mission. We don't want to mess up. We don't want to disappoint our listeners. Most importantly, we don't want to disappoint God. We're human. We do make mistakes, on occasion. Well, Tim doesn't, but, you know, the rest of us, do. So please pray for us that we might hear God and stay close to him as a ministry.
>> Wesley Wildmon: I'd like to get, a bang for our buck. I'm going to thank David, Linda, Robert, John, Mary, James. Those are the most frequent names. So I just thank a lot of, a lot of people because there's a lot of David's out there, a lot of Linda's, a lot of robbers.
>> Steve Jordahl: Come on, Steve, let's start stepping up.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Where, where are the ED's at? Come on, let's get some Edwards in there.
>> Wesley Wildmon: Hey, thank you, thank you. Thank everybody for listening to today's issues and also thank you for supporting the ministry here. Continue to listen.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Yeah. More great programming directly ahead. We will be taking a five minute break for news. Sharethon continues. 877-616-2396 is the number to call if you'd like to give or you can give safely and securely [email protected]
>> Tim Wildmon: SAM.
