Tim, Ed and Wesley talk with Steve on top news headlines of the day including a discussion on the rescue of the downed pilot in Iran.
American Family Radio celebrates Founders Day with a pledge drive
>> Jeff Chamblee: more than 45 years ago, brother Don Wildmon, with Linda by his side, heeded God's call and began this ministry on his dining room table. Since then, dedicated people and supporters have joined Don's efforts to bring godly values back to America. And the fight is far from over.
>> Jeff Chamblee: All God asks of you is faithfulness.
>> Jeff Chamblee: It's day two of Share a Thon and it's Founders Day. You can help honor brother Don's legacy with the Founders day pledge. Call 877-616-2396 or give [email protected] it's founders day on American Family Radio.
American Family Radio hosts share their thoughts on Christianity and American values
>> Tim Wildmon: Hey, welcome back, everybody, to Charathon on American Family Radio. I'm Tim Wildmon with Ed Battagliano, Wesley Wildmon, and is Steve Paisley Doordo there?
>> Ed Vitagliano: He's here.
>> Tim Wildmon: He is here.
>> Steve Jordahl: He is.
>> Tim Wildmon: He is there. thanks for listening, everybody. To Share a Thon. We got another hour with this team to go here on American Family Radio. We're in the middle of sheriff on Yesterday, today, and Tomorrow. So three days in the spring, three days in the fall. Our theme for this Charathon is love God, love people. That's what the Bible commands. That's what Jesus told us to do. Love God, love people. that's pretty simple. Simple to say, harder to live out.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Amen.
>> Tim Wildmon: We, that's why we're here, is to encourage you in your walk with the Lord. And so that's what we're, that's what we're here every day for at American Family Radio with our shows, our programming, our host, they all come to the microphone with the idea, hey, how can I help encourage people in their walk with Jesus Christ and, to stay committed and to live out the Bible calls righteous lives before the Lord. And in, our families, our churches, our communities, and, we on this show, we like to tell you what's going on around the world in, in our country, especially as it relates to Christians and Christianity. So that's what we try to do here, and we want to preserve our freedoms, our liberties, our way of life that our forefathers gave to us, that the Lord blessed us with, with this, great country, the United States of America. There's not been a country, ah, quite like the USA in the history of mankind. I'm not saying that braggadociously. I'm saying that matter of factly. It's just not been anything quite like the United States of America. That's why millions come here. That's how, much why people around the world, we are the envy of the world. not because of, you know, who we are. It's because of the principles that our country was founded on and our values that we've had and our freedom to live your life the way you choose and freedom of religion and freedom to move around and, our Bill of Rights and, you know, freedom to own property and freedom to, possess, firearms. Freedom, to vote, freedom to run for office, freedom of speech, freedom of religion. Those things are rare, extremely rare around the world. Look at Iran, just for one example. they don't have any of what I just described in Iran. It's a totalitarian regime. It's. They kill their people who disagree with them. and that's that way. And. And, a lot. A lot of the world's. Look at Communist China, you know, they. They rule with the iron fist. Other, places in the world, same thing. So what we have here is special and we don't want to lose it. So that's just. That's one of the reasons we exist too, here at American Family Radio is to. Is to, defend our values that really come from the Bible, really come from our Judeo Christian heritage. You know, America wasn't created in a vacuum. If you go back and read our founding fathers and read, people down through our country's history, you know, Alex de Tocqueville was a French historian, and he traveled to the United States in, the 18th, 19th, century. I think it was the middle 1800s or maybe early 1800s. And he. He, he was not a believer himself, but he wrote, about his travels in the United States of States of America at the time, that America is great because America is good, and America is good because they have the righteousness of flame in their pulpits. And this was a gentleman. He was. Again, he wasn't a believer himself, but he was like, observing what made America great. and he said it was the preaching of the gospel of Christ across the country that made, the America, so, so different and so unique.
American Family Radio is holding a Share a Thon this week
All right, you're listening to, Share a Thon on American Family Radio. All right, Ed, tell us what's going on there.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Yeah, it is our spring Share a Thon, as you've mentioned, it is found there's a $75,000 challenge, from now until 1:00pm Central time. So we're asking our listeners, as we do during Share a Thon, it's, yesterday, the remainder of today and tomorrow. We have three days in the Spring, three days in the fall, where, as Tim says, we pass the virtual offering plate and ask you, our listeners, to please be as generous as you can in supporting this ministry and to make a pledge. We have folks waiting. phones are kind of quiet, right? So perfect time for you to get in and be able to talk to somebody. Here's the number to call. 877-616-2396. That's 877-616-2396. If you prefer to give online, you can do that safely and [email protected] afr.net but there are folks who are waiting. some of our staff members, we have volunteers who have driven in just to help us during. And so they are waiting to take your call. 877-616-2396.
>> Wesley Wildmon: And give a gift on behalf of Founders Day. If you've already given a gift, thank you. But for today, even if it's a smaller amount, just, just to do it on behalf of Do1 on behalf of, the founder of AFA, my granddad, Don Wildmon, by calling in at 877-616-2396 or visit afr.net There's a $75,000 challenge, all the way up to 1:00pm Central Time today.
American Family Radio is asking listeners to donate 75,000 dollars on Founders Day
What does that mean, the challenge? That means, I get. I would. There. We've, we've usually, have this explained in a little sheet because I don't want to misspeak, because there's a difference between a challenge and a, match.
>> Steve Jordahl: Does it mean that 75, 000 could be added to every donation?
>> Wesley Wildmon: That's why. Yeah.
>> Steve Jordahl: No, no, no. Shoot.
>> Wesley Wildmon: I think it's a lump sum.
>> Ed Vitagliano: This is money that.
>> Tim Wildmon: Yeah, I don't think that's true.
>> Steve Jordahl: Oh, true.
>> Tim Wildmon: I mean, if that were. That were the case, we could just, you know, I know one sheriff on every decade.
>> Ed Vitagliano: No, this is money that has already, been given. And it is, it is kind of pooled to encourage listeners, to, to kind of meet that total 75,000. So from. It started at 10:00am Central, goes to 1:00pm Central. We're asking our listeners to give 75,000 DOL. in response to that challenge. And so folks, if, if that appeals to you, as Wesley said, it is Founders Day giving, maybe giving a gift in honor of Brother Don Wildmon. You can give at this number, 8776-1623-9687-7616, 2396. And speaking of Brother Don Wildmon, we have mentioned this already, during Our today's issues segment, we have a wonderful feature length documentary about brother Don Wildmon. It's titled Culture Warrior, which he certainly was Don Wildmon and the Battle for Decency. This was produced by our very own American Family Studios. It explores the, founding of afa, many of the cultural and spiritual battles, that marked the early years of this ministry. It is loaded with video and photographs and you, can watch it for free. That's what I, would just want to mention. It's here on Founders Day. You can watch it for free at culturewarrior Movie. That's the website, culturewarrior Movie. Check that out. And that is the kind of content that American Family association and American Family Radio is called by God to produce. So when you give pledge, when you give generously to this ministry, you're not only supporting American Family Radio, you're supporting all the departments that work every day to get God's truth out. So, eight, seven, go ahead. I'm sorry.
>> Tim Wildmon: Well, I was told the phone wasn't ringing very much in our marathon. That's a problem central. There's people are eating lunch or whatever over there answering the phones. And that's what we want now. We want them to put their lunch down and answer the phone and put them to work. Only way we can have that is if our listeners call in who listen to this show and they make a pledge, they make a donation. So here, I'm gonna give the phone number and challenge our listeners to interrupt the launch of the phone answering volunteers. Here's the number to call. 877-616-2396. That dials our office and our studios at American Family Radio. We don't send you around the world, you know, with this phone call. This phone call goes right here to AFA and AFR studios. Volunteers are here to answer the phone. They're listeners like you. They drove to our studios to answer the phone from around the country. Also, we have some of our staff doing so as well. So I'm going to give you the phone number and call and make a gift to be as generous as you possibly can. 877-616-2396. I'll give it one, more time. 877-6169, 2396 or you can give [email protected] Go ahead, Steve.
New York Post says CIA used quantum magnometry to locate downed pilot
>> Steve Jordahl: I gotta tell you, we are continuing to learn more details about the rescue of this downed pilot in Iran. And, I just read something that I'm gonna share with y'. All that is just blowing my mind. Did you hear John Radcliffe say that the CIA was involved in the rescue of this guy? The NewSong York Post has figured out how. And I don't know if someone leaked this or if they declassified it or what, but the CIA has a new tool. It's called Ghost Murmur. And they used this Ghost Murmur to locate and rescue this, downed pilot. The pilot's name, he's only being referred to as Dude44 Bravo. But, it's based on the fact that every heartbeat has a signature. It's a unique as a fingerprint. Your heartbeat. My heartbeat? Yeah, you can. And usually what they do, they have to put a, a device up next to your chest, like a stethoscope or sensors. and they have to put it up to your chest and they can record your heartbeat. And the electronic signature of that is unique.
>> Ed Vitagliano: I did not know that.
>> Steve Jordahl: Well, it is, but. Advances in a field known as quantum magnometry. And these are specific sensors. They're built around microscopic defects in synthetic diamonds. And they have made it possible to read this signature at greater distances, not just next to your heart. They literally found. And AI helps sort out the details. They literally found this gentleman's heartbeat in a thousand square miles of desert from the sky.
>> Ed Vitagliano: You are making this up.
>> Steve Jordahl: I am not.
>> Wesley Wildmon: But hold on. Okay, now I'm a bit confused because, what I read was he pulled a beacon.
>> Steve Jordahl: They had that. But this is the first use of the long range quantum magnometry to find it. Sound to 12 days. This is what I'm reading. This is from the NewSong York Post. The secret technology uses long range quantum magnometry to find electromagnetic field. Fingerprint of a human heartbeat. And pairs the data with artificial intelligence software to isolate the signature from background noise.
>> Ed Vitagliano: That. That's blowing my mind.
>> Steve Jordahl: It's like hearing a voice in a stadium. Except a thousand square miles of desert. The right conditions, if your heart is beating, we will find you.
>> Tim Wildmon: So, listen, I had a minor in quantum monography magnometry. Yeah, well, we called it something different back in the 80s.
>> Wesley Wildmon: I'm sure you did. Sure you did.
>> Tim Wildmon: my major was journalism, but I had a minor in.
>> Ed Vitagliano: They called it something different. It was called baloney back then.
>> Tim Wildmon: Yeah, Yeah. I can confirm what Steve is saying is true.
>> Steve Jordahl: Oh, gee, it's good to know.
>> Wesley Wildmon: Original.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Listen, that. That is at once, awesome and scary. Yeah, that scary. Now, I've been. You know, I've been keeping up because the surveillance state is always in the back of my mind, right okay. That they have the technology to be. That each person has a unique walking pattern, a gait. And I mean, we're talking about, you know, the eyes. It's not just the fingerprints. It's, So this is. I've never even heard of this.
>> Steve Jordahl: I hadn't either until I read it. The capability, they say, is not omniscient. It works best in remote, low clutter environments and requires significant processing time. I guess. No doubt, the desert in Iran proved to be a, pretty ideal testing ground for this. It's the first time they've used it in an actual operation. They've tested it out. They detected this guy's heartbeat from a,
>> Ed Vitagliano: In a thousand miles.
>> Steve Jordahl: A thousand miles of desert. Thousand square miles of desert. They found this one guy's heartbeat.
>> Wesley Wildmon: And remember, did he have a device on him that helped? Did he have to have something on him? Not necessarily, no.
>> Ed Vitagliano: But they had, they had the, they had the, the information ahead of time. Right.
>> Steve Jordahl: In other words, they could determine his heartbeat. Now, I don't know and it's classified, so I don't know whether or not it is that they knew where to look and they put. They directed the beam toward that or. but it sounds like. Because remember, this guy said that the, Iranians were gathering at the base of the mountain. He climbed 7,000ft. So there were other heartbeats around, but AI was able to signal out his unique signature, and that's how they tracked him.
>> Tim Wildmon: How long did it take them from the time he went down to the time he was, rescued?
>> Wesley Wildmon: A couple days.
>> Steve Jordahl: Yeah, I, I think it was three days, four days. I don't think it was that many. Two days maybe. I'll find out.
American Family Radio relies on financial support to continue its mission
>> Wesley Wildmon: Six hours.
>> Tim Wildmon: Wow.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Well, that's just mind blowing and. Mind blowing. And Tim, apparently we have people like you to thank for the, the. For the original, technology and advanced study that happened.
>> Tim Wildmon: I don't.
>> Ed Vitagliano: In the 80s.
>> Tim Wildmon: Yeah. I don't like to talk about it. It sounds like I'm bragging, but, Yeah, no, this. Listen, Praise God. It's 48 hours, I'm assuming. 48 hours. Can you imagine? That's the longest 48 hours he'll ever go.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Oh, wow.
>> Tim Wildmon: If it's a. If it's a male.
>> Wesley Wildmon: Yeah.
>> Tim Wildmon: Do have female pilots too. But, praise God, the guy was rescued because he could have been captured and displayed.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Oh, that would have been. It would have been awful.
>> Tim Wildmon: You know, put these soldiers on TV and make them say things and, you know, remember that happened a lot in Vietnam.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Right, yeah.
>> Tim Wildmon: And in other places where they,
>> Ed Vitagliano: they would have eventually executed.
>> Steve Jordahl: So one of the things that we're hearing about this was this, that his, this has been public knowledge for a while is when he was downed, he was able to get out a message. He had one message that he was able to transmit as soon as he landed. And, he, he landed on the ground and started climbing the mountain. God is good.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Yeah. Because he had survived thus far.
>> Steve Jordahl: Survived. And he's a believer.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Listen, we said this on the show, earlier in the week. I don't know it was yesterday or Monday. This is, this is going to be a movie. Yeah, I mean, this is, this is going to be a movie about this whole thing and all the stuff that happened. you can just bet on it
>> Steve Jordahl: and people are going to look at it and say, no, you're making that.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Yeah, that's, that's Hollywood.
>> Wesley Wildmon: Based on a true story. 877-616-239-687-76162396. That's the number that you can call and financially support the ministry of American Family Radio and all the stories that we cover just on today's issues and many, many other radio programs. We have been around since our ministry's been around AFA since 1977. Radio stats is 1991 or 1890. Yeah, 1991. Yeah. Not 18. Right. 1991. And we just, we're so, we're so blessed and thankful that because of your faithfulness and your continued prayers, your concerns, you're willing to be active in the things that we challenge you on and your financial support that we don't have. We don't have any debt, much less loads of debt. We have no debt. Everything that we do, we pay off as we do it. And that's, a testament to one pawpaw. It was a pillar of the ministries that we wouldn't owe no man nothing. And then of course he followed that up with encouraging the future generation of AFA and AFR not to as well. And so we continue to carry that on, but we can only do that with, your financial support. So. Calling at 877-61623 or visit afr.net and
>> Ed Vitagliano: can I give a little spiritual angle to the story we just discussed? Because this is something you're not going to get on, mainstream media, maybe even Fox much of the time. I just now thought of this.
>> Steve Jordahl: Yeah.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Okay. This story about this, the heartbeat technology of being able to locate, the heartbeat of a particular individual within 1,000 square miles. Folks, it just occurred to me that when Jesus says that the hairs on your head are numbered and God knows when a sparrow falls to the ground, if human beings can locate someone by their heartbeat, God knows exactly where you are at all times. He knows everything about you. He knows the number of hairs on your head. He knows what your heart sounds like.
>> Steve Jordahl: He created it.
>> Ed Vitagliano: He created it. He knows what your eyes look like, your fingerprints. He knows everything about you. And we are just touching some of the kinds of technological advances that give us a. A glimpse into how big our God is and to how much he cares for you, our. Our listener. So that's. I mean, that's the kind of thing. We're free to discuss that on a Christian network because, we're, We're. Our desire is to bring the Christian message into the discussion of major events like this. So that's really cool. I'm going to chew on that for a while.
>> Tim Wildmon: You chew on that?
>> Ed Vitagliano: I'm chewing. Chewing away.
>> Tim Wildmon: All right, you're listening to. Let's hear from one of our listeners, folks, just like you, and then we'll be back momentarily.
Melanie got hooked on American Family Radio because of Sandy Rios
>> Melanie: Hi, this is Melanie, and I'm calling from West Point, Tennessee. And I am just calling to say, yes, AFR has had a huge impact on my walk with the Lord and also in being informed about what is going on in our world today from a Christian perspective. I got hooked on AFR because of hearing Sandy Rios. Ah. I was so inspired by what she said. Her enthusiasm was contagious. the people that she has on her show now I listen to her podcast as well. I love Abe. I love, Jeff, Sri. I didn't always enjoy the show that Tim Wildmon and his cohorts did. I rolled my eyes at this for the longest time, and now I listen to it and chuckle every day. They're so funny. And they have a lot of information to share, too. And I appreciate all of the work that you all are doing and I pray for you. And I am a monthly giver, and I am happy to do this. I don't know what I'd do without afr. Thank you all.
>> Caroline: Bye.
>> Caroline: Bye.
>> Ed Vitagliano: How'd you feel about that, Tim?
>> Tim Wildmon: I mean, her saying that, she didn't like us for a long time. This show.
>> Ed Vitagliano: I think that's what she said.
>> Wesley Wildmon: She.
>> Ed Vitagliano: She mentioned you by name. But then I'm a part of your cohort.
>> Tim Wildmon: Yeah, I took that personally. Very hurtful. Well, and,
>> Ed Vitagliano: we're not everybody's cup of tea. I understand, I understand that.
>> Tim Wildmon: But I do understand. Listen, she makes a monthly donation, right?
>> Ed Vitagliano: Yes. She can say whatever she wants.
>> Wesley Wildmon: I forgive her in advance and we'll
>> Ed Vitagliano: continue to forgive her as she gives his ministry.
>> Tim Wildmon: No, they listen.
>> Wesley Wildmon: Hey, the story there is that she came around. Yeah. Okay.
>> Tim Wildmon: Every show is not for everybody. Yeah, okay, I understand that. And, but, we, we appreciate her listening to the shows that she does enjoy. Santa Rios is. Sandy Rios is a five star radio talk show host. Now she's on podcast only now because she decided to go that route. Sandy did. So Jenna Ellis is, our morning host here now, during that hour. But Sandy still has her podcast you can take advantage of. But, yeah, Sandy's, you know, she's a pro. And we, we. And so is Jenna. And so we encourage people to listen to both those and if they can tolerate us here, listen to today's issues. We appreciate that as well. you're listening to, Sheriff on American Family Radio.
>> Wesley Wildmon: There's the music.
>> Tim Wildmon: Okay, go ahead.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Yeah.
>> Wesley Wildmon: Ah, there's the music right there. That means we got about a minute before we go to break. So we just want to remind you the phone number. 8776-162396-77616-1623. You can call in and give your gift there or go visit afr.net you know, we talked about not shows for everybody, but we need to be for somebody.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Yes.
>> Wesley Wildmon: And we're for at least somebody. Right?
>> Ed Vitagliano: Somebody.
>> Wesley Wildmon: Listen. That's right. All right, well, we're, we're gonna go to a short break here. We're gonna come back. Steve's gonna stay with us. This is Sharathon. So we're gonna go all the way up until 1:00pm or 12:00pm Central Time before we go to our. For today's issues is finalized for the day. So we'll be back here shortly.
It's Founders Day to honor brother Don and Linda Wildman
>> Caroline: My name is Ross. I'm from Chanute, Kansas.
>> Wesley Wildmon: And we just want to thank you
>> Caroline: in this area for being able. You know, location of those stations is critical. And I appreciate the fact that you got that station there. I know that's a very critical issue in planning a lot of the locations. So I thank you very much.
>> Jeff Chamblee: In honor of brother Don and Linda Wildmon. It's Founders Day on afr.
>> Jeff Chamblee: One time in the past when I, used to kind of spearhead what we do with our, semiannual Sheratons, we used to have it in a very tight kind of environment room. It was very small compared to what we have today. And there was Generally, by the time we got going, you might say it was organized chaos because you had phones ringing and you had people all around. And of course, we didn't do anything on, computer monitors. Everything was done with a pen and paper and so forth. So, you know, there was a lot of camaraderie, but, you know, there was just a lot of, confusion, if you will, going on at the same time. It was glorious confusion, but it was confusing. And I never will forget that in the midst of all of the hubbub, the, sounds that were going on all around us, I happened to notice out of the corner of my eye that off in one corner of the room there was Don. And I knew that he had had one of his grandsons and that he had brought him in with him. And he just kind of, you know, was sitting there in his own world with this grandchild with all of this going on around us, and he was just sitting there changing his diaper
>> Caroline: and
>> Jeff Chamblee: totally oblivious to everything else. And I've always thought that that was such a, you know, just an important moment and it, and it captured what he really was about as a leader of a ministry like the American Family association that, you know, hey, this was an important part time for us. This is how we raised a lot of the monies that allowed us to do the job that we were called to do at this ministry and what the Lord's purpose behind this mission was. But all of that was secondary to that child right then and right there, because to him, that was the most important person in his life. And to me, that epitomizes what Adon Wildmon is all about.
>> Jeff Chamblee: Brother Don has been standing in the gap for families and Linda has been standing behind him since the inception of this ministry more than 40 years ago. We pray for Praise the Lord, for our founders obedient service, and we invite you to make a gift in their honor during shareathon on afr.
>> Caroline: Hey, this is Bobby. I'm from Virginia. I live in California. I've been totally blind all my life. I've been through a lot. My mother died. My stepfather wasn't so nice to us. I love faith, family and freedom. I'm a brand new listener and I love y' all and give my regards to the rest of the staff and tell them to keep preaching God's word. I'm proud of y'.
>> Ed Vitagliano: All.
>> Caroline: Let's keep preaching the word of God for lost souls. I like to see everybody in heaven someday. God bless.
American Family Radio hosts share their thoughts on heaven on Share a Thon
>> Jeff Chamblee: It's day two of Share a Thon and it's Founders Day as far as our budget.
>> Tim Wildmon: The way we run a budget is you spend less than you take in.
>> Jeff Chamblee: We invite you to help honor the memory and legacy of brother don wildman. Call 877-616-2396 to make a pledge or give [email protected] it's founders day on American Family Radio.
>> Ed Vitagliano: And welcome back. It is Sheriff on Ed Vitagliano, Wesley Wildmon, Steve Jordahl. Tim has stepped away. He has obligations in, Washington, D.C. we, were listening, guys, to the, to that listener testimony. I think his name was Bobby. And we heard that. I heard that yesterday. So this is the second time I heard it. And it just struck me. This is a man who said that he was born blind. And then it was kind of poignant. He said he loves afr, you know, supports, wants it to stay on the air so that people come to know Christ. He said, so I can see other people in heaven. And it just struck me that that's what heaven's going to be like. The lame will and, the deaf will hear and the blind will see. And, it's just an extraordinary thing we're all looking forward to. And a man who was born blind is going to see people in heaven that he preached the gospel to or that, pastors preached or AFR reached other people, have reached these people and he would be able to see them. I don't know. What do you think, Steve?
>> Steve Jordahl: Fanny Crosby was born blind. And, someone asked her if she, wishes she could see. And I think one of the things that she answered, was no, because she's going to be able. The first thing that she will ever be able to say that she saw was Jesus face.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Oh, wow, that gives me chills, man. I'm not going to lie. That gives me chills.
>> Wesley Wildmon: Well, for the Christian with the spiritual lens, what I'm about to say is not morbid. So hang on. But it can sound a little morbid for the nonbeliever. But we are passing through as a Christian and with the Christian worldview. We know that we are. Our time on heaven is. Our time on earth is limited before we go to heaven. And so with that perspective, having an eternal perspective, whether our time is another day, another month, another year, with the time that we've got, we do have to live in light of every day being our last day as it relates to the way we treat people, as it relates to our, the legacy that we leave behind, all the decisions we make each day does impact our time here on heaven. But we know that our eternal destination is heaven. And so having that in mind now again, there's a lot of things we enjoy on earth and we like, you know, and it is very difficult. We can read about heaven, and that helps us some, but it really is, it takes the work of the Holy Spirit to understand that heaven is just simply better than where we are even in light of all the things that we do enjoy. Now we live in a fallen world. So somebody's listening right now that's going through a tragedy that makes themselves no way heavens for sure. There are times in our life where we're on a mountaintop and we're like man, I want to live another day, another year with our kids and our family. But ultimately our end goal is heaven. And that's that right there can help you get through any type of tragedy knowing that our eternal destination is heaven.
>> Steve Jordahl: So.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Amen.
You will have an opportunity today to share the gospel that you will never have
>> Steve Jordahl: One of the things what crossed my mind when you said that is I can guarantee you that you will have an opportunity today that you will never again see in your entire life.
>> Steve Jordahl: Whether that's to talk to somebody about Jesus, whether it's to give to a ministry.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Yeah.
>> Steve Jordahl: you will have another opportunity to give to ministry. But there's. God is going to put something in your life. Every day is different.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Yeah.
>> Steve Jordahl: And, and you, you can find something today that is an opportunity that you have to make someone's life better. To share the gospel that you will never have again in all of history. Yeah.
>> Ed Vitagliano: It'll be totally unique.
>> Steve Jordahl: It's your moment.
>> Ed Vitagliano: And, and, and what's we're talking about mind blowing things right today. you're going to take a right instead of a left. You're going to go for lunch, you're going to go to this place instead of that place. You're going to cross paths with someone who made the same kind of decision. And that opportunity is probably not going to happen ever again because you went right instead of left or you didn't go straight. And it was at 11:42 rather than 11:50 and you're going to see someone and that might be an opportunity to share the gospel with that one person. Like you said, a totally unique situation.
American Family Radio's spring Share a Thon is underway
Folks, we have the privilege of being able to share these kinds of things because this is a Christian ministry talking about American Family Radio. And this is our Spring Share a thon and it is the love God, Love people theme for our Spring Share a Thon out of Matthew 22, verses 37 through 40, where Jesus says, love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it, love your neighbor as yourself. All the law and prophets hang on these two commandments. So this is the joy that we have here at American Family association and American Family Radio. And that is we get to use what gifts we have, limited though they may be, to craft programs, to create, documentaries, to write stories and post them online to answer calls in shareathon central, whatever it may be. We have the joy to be able to do that in service of God and with love for God and love for the people with whom we're interacting. So as our spring Share a thon is underway, we are probably roughly halfway through it. The remainder of today and then all day tomorrow. This is your opportunity. As Tim says, we're passing the virtual offering plate. This is your opportunity to give to this ministry. Keep us on the air. And so we're encouraging you to be as generous as you can and call in and make your pledge. Here is the phone number, through which you can do that. 877-616-2396. That's 877-261-62396. Now I haven't said this in a while. We do have a couple of premium offers for gifts, up over a certain amount. So for a one time gift of $150 or more, you will receive a five pack of AFA's 250th anniversary pocket constitution. That's the 250th anniversary of our country, not AFA or AFR. It's a, it's a really slick, I love the design on this. It is dark blue and gold. It not only contains the constitution, but also the Declaration of Independence has a Forward by Steven McDowell. And so we'll give you a five pack so you can give some of these away. And then if you become a great commission partner with a monthly gift of $30 or more, you not only get the five pack of the pocket constitution, you also get a five pack of the 250th in God we Trust wristbands. And like the Christmas wristbands and the Easter wristbands, it's a wear it and share it kind of deal. So you wear it, somebody maybe says something about it and then you have others to give away to those folks. So the number to call is 877-616-2396. That's 877-616-2396. Or you can give safely and securely. Securely [email protected] Do I have it right?
>> Steve Jordahl: Did I remember right, that, that, our president, Tim Wildmon, helped Madison, craft the Constitution? Doesn't like to talk about it because he considered bragging? I thought. I thought that was right.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Yeah. He has had a very colorful life.
>> Wesley Wildmon: So, along with the, the magnet. What was that?
>> Steve Jordahl: Oh, yeah, yeah.
>> Wesley Wildmon: The ghost murmur, the electromagnetic fingerprint. Yeah, the magnet. Magnetarium. I can't even pronounce, which was.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Oh, the, magnetometry.
>> Wesley Wildmon: There you go.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Magnetom. I don't know.
>> Wesley Wildmon: That's what he said. Yes, dad would know we need him here because. Yes, he would know. He would do.
Steve Martin: United Nations Watch criticizes Israel over Gaza humanitarian crisis
>> Ed Vitagliano: All right, Steve, you got some other stories.
>> Steve Jordahl: Yeah, I wanted to, I heard a great little speech, at the United nations that came across, like most stuff does my Twitter feed. This is a guy named Luai M. Ahmed. He's with an organization called United Nations Watch. And, it's no surprise to those of us who watch and kind of keep track of things. The United nations is one of the most anti Semitic bodies in the world. They are constantly putting resolutions up against Israel and blaming Israel for things. And the United States is on the Security Council. They can veto a lot of the stuff. But somebody was, bagging on Israel again. And, Lui Ahmed was given the mic, and I want you to listen how he responded. Cut 11.
>> Tim Wildmon: Nothing justifies the appalling manner in which Israel has conducted its military operations in Gaza, which consistently preached fundamental principles of international humanitarian law.
>> Ed Vitagliano: I give the floor to United Nations Watch.
>> Loy Ahmed: Hi, Commissioner. My name is Loy Ahmed and I come from Yemen. I asked the un, the Arab League, and everyone who has been raising the Palestinian flag since October 7. Where is the flag of Yemen? In my country, half a million people have died in the last 10 years. The biggest famine in humanity humanitarian crisis in modern history. Why does no one care when half a million Yemenis die? What about Sudan? In less than two years, more than 150,000 people have been killed. Where is the flag of Sudan? What about Syria? Half a million Syrians have been killed. Where is the Syrian flag? Hi, Commissioner. Why is it that when Arabs kill millions of Arabs, no one bats an eye? Where is the outrage and where are the protests? Why don't you mention the Houthis in Yemen who have spent millions of dollars firing missiles at Israel instead of feeding my starving people? May I ask why your report mentions Israel 188 times, yet fails to mention the Islamic regime in Iran even once. How can you speak about the conflict while ignoring the party that has armed, armed, trained and funded terror proxies like Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis who have been bombing Israel thousands of times? And why is Qatar sitting here as a member of the Human Rights Council when they host the Hamas terror leaders in luxury hotels?
>> Ed Vitagliano: Wow.
>> Wesley Wildmon: So that's. Those are some fair questions.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Yes. Good grief. That, that's, that's. You know what to this. This is a young man.
>> Steve Jordahl: Yeah.
>> Ed Vitagliano: This is young man's point. I hadn't heard those kinds of numbers anywhere.
>> Steve Jordahl: No.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Now maybe, maybe there are Christian, groups that keep track of these kinds of humanitarian disasters. We know there's been on the mainstream media. I haven't heard any of this stuff.
>> Steve Jordahl: We know that there has been famine. There has been civil war in Syria for almost generations and Sudan and all these other countries. And along with civil war often comes famine.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Yeah.
>> Steve Jordahl: And people not only die from bullets, but they die from starvation and just the lack of a government of any resources. a, war will raise the land like a, ah, swarm of locusts.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Yeah. Well folks, again that's. I appreciate that story, Steve. This is the kind of stuff that Steve does every day and they do at American Family News every day here on American Family Radio. And by the way, Steve. Right. American Family News, there are radio stations around the country that aren't a part of the AFR network that carry American Family News. Don't you.
>> Steve Jordahl: And I wish I had the number off the top of my head. I think it's around 100. And some stations that are network stations, so they have their own programming. They don't carry all of our programming, but they do carry our news.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Yeah.
>> Steve Jordahl: At ah, the top of the hour.
>> Ed Vitagliano: So folks, that is something that your donations are helping to provide.
American Family Radio needs your support during Sherithon
So this goes beyond the reach is beyond American Family Radio itself and also the stories, many or most maybe all of the stories that Steve and the others, Fred Jackson and others, Krish Woodward, that the stories that are being written and posted online at American Family News also get forwarded to people. We're reaching all kinds of individuals with that kind of news. So when we come here and pass, the virtual offering plate during Sherithon, this is what we're asking you to continue to support. Here's the number to call if you want to give. You want to make a pledge. There are folks who are ready to take Your information. Answer any questions you may have. 877-616-2396. That's 877-616-2396. That story that Tim, that, Steve just read. You're not going to find that in a lot of most news outlets. You might get some of that at Fox, but certainly not, with the kind of spiritual and Christian input, that we have here on American Family Radio. 877-616-2396. Please be as generous as you can. If you don't want to talk to a person or you prefer to do it more quickly and you want to go online to do it, you can do [email protected] Be like, Donald at
>> Steve Jordahl: Mechanicsville, Virginia, and, Joan in Greenville, North Carolina. Be like Blanca in, Kepner, Texas, and Sharon in Frankfort, Indiana. Give.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Yes. Well, we have folks giving Rod from Oklahoma, Micah from Arkansas. We have Louisiana, Texas, all over the place. Ohio, Illinois. How's that? A couple of folks.
>> Steve Jordahl: isn't it Illinois?
>> Ed Vitagliano: Paige from Illinois, William from Illinois. That's tough country up there. Janet from Oakdale, Illinois, Richard from Vaughan, Montana, Raymond from looks like Belleville, Ohio, folks from around the country. And, we have an app, Wesley, that is, as your dad says, has been a game changer for us.
>> Wesley Wildmon: It has before.
Talk a little bit about the American Family Radio app
talk a little bit about the app. I would like to say that the Davids are holding strong because yesterday the Davids were at the top of the first. Frequent first names.
>> Ed Vitagliano: We have the oddest information that our software collates.
>> Wesley Wildmon: You said it. Yeah, I was thinking. Yeah. So on the left side of our, afa, What do you call it?
>> Ed Vitagliano: Yeah, just the dashboard.
>> Wesley Wildmon: Frequent, most frequent first names. And yesterday it was. David was at the top. David dropped for the last 15 minutes. But Dave, the David's out there. Back on time. They're back.
>> Steve Jordahl: I don't see the Ed or Wesley or Steve.
>> Ed Vitagliano: I gave it to EDS yesterday where you guys asked me more ads. Yes.
>> Wesley Wildmon: hey, the AFR app, you can go to AFR. Well, the easiest way is go to afr.net because we have a tab that says mobile apps. And there you're just clicking on one more link. It will. And it will redirect you to the download or you can go to any Apple, you can go to any app Store on any smart device and app. You can do it on an iPad, doing on an iPhone, any smart device. And you can go to the App Store and tap in AFR or American Family Radio, download the App. There's a couple other pieces of resources on the app that you can't get. on our radio network, we have a contemporary Christian music station on the app as well. Also too, you can find some of our articles from the stand. You can podcast any of our radio programs. So there is a few podcast programs that are specific or are limited to the app or online that are not on our radio platform that you're listening to right now if you're listening to a radio station. So there's some extra content. I know that Jenna Ellis and Sandy Rios both have podcast programs that you can only find exclusively on the app or on the Internet radio. So go check that out. Thank you so much for all those that have already called in, and supported our Share a Thon, our spring Share a Thon for those that are just tuning in or, or we gave the number out, but we gave it out in a Mississippi accent. I can't change that, but I can slow it down.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Okay.
>> Wesley Wildmon: 877-616-2396 is a number you can call. That's 877-616-2396 or visit afr.net There is a small portion of us of, of our listeners that I want to, challenge you and say, hey, you giving, doing during today's issues does help us out because there is a slight all in. We know that there's a big picture here, but there's moments where there's a little competition here. We don't want to walk away from today's issues and go into Sharathon central and look up in our today's issue. Listeners let us down. So we have a $75,000 challenge all the way to 1pm Central Time.
>> Steve Jordahl: I was going to say, Wesley, can you try a neutral accent?
>> Wesley Wildmon: I'd like to hear. I'm the least, my answer to all things that like that is I'm the least creative person of all time. And so I'm pretty plain. So if I could. I'm not even going to. I don't even want embarrass myself.
>> Steve Jordahl: All right.
>> Wesley Wildmon: But I could go slower.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Listen, I think you're doing just fine. I married a Mississippi girl and she has a Southern accent. I'm not mocking it. I like it.
>> Ed Vitagliano: and hey, listen, in just a moment, we're going to listen to another listener testimony.
We encourage you to donate to American Family Radio through the app
But, in terms of this app, folks, let me, let me encourage you. A lot of times you hear these listener testimonies about how American family radio God has used it to even lead folks to Christ. Send a link to the app or tell your friends or family members about AFR and tell them how easy it is to listen. You never know what's going to happen in their lives once they start listening to the word of God and listening to the gospel and hearing a Christian worldview taught, from the scriptures, you never know what's going to happen in their lives. So tell them about the AFR app, even if they don't live in an area where there's a terrestrial radio station. So, let's, let's hear one of our listener testimonies.
>> Caroline: Hi, this is Mona from McKee, Kentucky. And I just wanted to say I originally found American Family Radio by hearing American Family News on a different Christian, radio station here in Kentucky. And I had to check it out because I couldn't believe I was hearing accurate Christian news. So, I found American Family Radio on the Internet and I downloaded, the app and I've been listening ever since. And that's about six years ago. I will say that American Family Radio and American Family, network has really just impacted me in becoming an engaged, voting Christian and paying attention to the political system and really searching out the scriptures to see my responsibility to be an engaged citizen, to stand against the gates of hell and to be fully engaged, and adopt more of a biblical worldview. So thank you because I listened all day every day, while I'm working or working in the garden or working in my house or just working. So thank you so much for being, existing as long as you have. You've made a tremendous impact in my life and I share about your radio, station and app to everyone I encounter. Have a blessed day.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Wow. That was not planned. That was Mona thinks from Kentucky. I think she said. What a, what a. We were just talking about, the, the fact that other radio stations carry American Family News that drew her to afr and my granddaughter just walked by. My kids with the granddaughter
>> Steve Jordahl: just lost it.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Yeah, just completely lost track. So, folks, thank you so much already. For those who have given, some of you gave well before Sharathon. Some of you have already given and some of you plan to give today or tomorrow. We encourage you, please be as generous as you can. The number to call is 877-616-2396. That's 877-616-2396. Or you can give online safely and securely at afr.net all right, Steve.
Zoran Mamdani has unveiled equity plans for New York City
>> Steve Jordahl: All right. Hey, we talked yesterday about Zoran Mamdani's, equity plans for NewSong York City. He was talking about it the other day, and I want to read you. This is from, some of the material he put out. One of his plans is to tax white people more money. And you think, well, that can't be right. Well, it is, and I wanted to read this to you. He says in his written material he wants to shift the tax burden from overtaxed homeowners in the outer boroughs to more expensive homes in richer and wider neighborhoods.
>> Ed Vitagliano: What?
>> Steve Jordahl: Really? Yeah, listen. To cut 10.
>> Joseph Parker: The inequities in this city, the racial inequities are stark. We are talking about findings that have shown that the wealth of a median white household in the city is more than $200,000, while that of a black household is less than $20,000. This is not an indictment of any one NewSong Yorker. It is an indictment, however, of policies and politics that have persisted for far too long. Our commitment now is to act upon these findings, to do so in concert with NewSong Yorkers. Comments as we've now opened a public comment period for the next 30 days to ensure that we have a city where we are reckoning with the long history of racism here and starting to act upon a framework that puts equity right at the center of it.
>> Steve Jordahl: He is planning and promising to lower tax payments for homeowners in neighborhoods like Jamaica and Brownsville, while raising the amount paid in the most expensive Brooklyn townhouses because, well, they're not paying their, quote, fair share.
>> Wesley Wildmon: Or could it be.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Could it be Satan?
>> Wesley Wildmon: Could it be that lifestyle choices and decisions could indicate your. Your annual, income?
>> Steve Jordahl: And by the way, I cannot. Numbers.
>> Ed Vitagliano: And. And, do you have a mother and father in the home?
>> Steve Jordahl: There's.
>> Ed Vitagliano: Listen, I just want. I want to.
>> Steve Jordahl: I want to.
>> Ed Vitagliano: I want to applaud Mayor Mamdani.
>> Wesley Wildmon: Yes.
>> Ed Vitagliano: For. For. For tackling the fact that his city is so racist that he has to, implement policies. Secure that. Now, it doesn't mean that everybody else is racist, but if your city's that racist mayor, go for it. Go for it.
>> Steve Jordahl: I also been Democrat leadership in NewSong York.
>> Ed Vitagliano: It's been Democrat leadership. This is tongue in cheek, folks. By the way, I'm not even sure Mom Donnie can change the tax policy in the city. I think that comes out of Albany.
>> Steve Jordahl: I think that he can change rents and that kind of thing.
>> Ed Vitagliano: He can. All right, so, listen, if I'm just being honest with you folks, if I knew that NewSong York City had, as a policy we. I want to say it's Southern. We ain't paying black people as much as white people. That's for doing the same work. I would be right there with you saying that is wrong. But as Wesley said, I think you'll find that someone who's making $200,000 a year and someone's making $20,000 a year, it's not because of the color of their skin.
>> Wesley Wildmon: No.
>> Ed Vitagliano: it's because, person A chose this field, went to college, and this person over here maybe a single mom with five kids. Okay.
>> Wesley Wildmon: Or you live in Minnesota, and you take advantage of the tax.
>> Steve Jordahl: Yes.
>> Ed Vitagliano: So let's speak.
>> Steve Jordahl: Clearing centers.
>> Wesley Wildmon: That's what I was.
>> Tim Wildmon: That's what I was.
>> Wesley Wildmon: That's the only other way this.
>> Ed Vitagliano: This kind of thing, Mayor Mumdani, you speak with fork and tongue. All right? I. I don't want to. I don't want to get on my soapbox. You just go on a rant right now.
>> Wesley Wildmon: No more NewSong York.
>> Ed Vitagliano: No more 8, 7, 7, 6, 1, 6, 2, 3, 9, 6. She a thon rolls on. You don't want to miss it.
