Today's Issues features Christian response to the issues of the day
>> Jeff Chamblee: Welcome to today's Issues. offering a Christian response to the issues of the day. Here's your host, Tim Wildmon. M. President of the American Family Association.
>> Tim Wildmon: Okay, I think Trump's wrapping it up. Hold on. Yeah, I think he's wrapping it up. It's a 13 hour, station. Welcome everybody to Today's Issues on the American Family Radio Network. Today, in case you're wondering, or if you care, is Wednesday, February 25, 2026. And thanks for listening to this show, Today's Issues on the American Family Radio Network and the panel. Here in the studio with me today is Wesley Wildmon. Good morning, Wesley. Good morning, Fred Jackson.
>> Fred Jackson: Good morning, Tim.
>> Tim Wildmon: And Krish Woodward.
>> Chris Woodward: Good morning.
>> Tim Wildmon: Lot to talk about, as you would, expect, having to do with President Trump's speech last night to the country, and to the world, quite frankly. His is the President's annual State of the Union address. We, Wesley and I were in, Oklahoma last night, met some wonderful folks, had a chance to be there. We got back, yes, we flew, flew there and flew back and boy are our arms tired. so we were able to get out there and get back. But we were in Oklahoma and met with some wonderful folks and it's good to be back home. lot to talk about. A lot happened last night. I didn't get to see all the speech cause I was at an event but Wesley. But I did watch some of it.
>> Wesley Wildmon: I watched about half the first half hour, then I fell asleep.
>> Tim Wildmon: How long did it last, Fred?
>> Fred Jackson: It was one hour and 50 minutes. I missed quite a bit and I.
>> Tim Wildmon: But you said it wasn't boring. I mean it wasn't, it didn't feel like an hour, 50 minutes.
>> Fred Jackson: All right. I've watched about 29 of these over the years. the 29 years I've been here.
>> Tim Wildmon: Okay.
>> Fred Jackson: My intent last night, because my wake up time in the morning is about 3 o'. Clock. My intent last night was to catch the first half hour or so and then go to. But I stayed and watched the whole thing because in my estimation, my humble estimation, it was the best State of the Union address I have ever Seen.
>> Tim Wildmon: You're saying a lot. I mean, you've seen a lot of them.
>> Fred Jackson: I've seen a lot of them. But here's what kept my attention. It wasn't what I would call the political rhetoric. It was the honoring of so many military personnel and heroes. It was incredible. And very quickly, it started with the US Men's Olympic team that they streamed onto the upper corridors, in, the chamber there. That was a great moment. But then throughout the night, the president told the story of these heroes. Many of them received medals. And it was just. I don't know how anyone in that chamber. And we'll talk about sometimes when people in that chamber did not stand. But I don't know how anyone hearing the stories of these brave men, women, families of heroes, how you could not get excited and be proud of your country. I don't know how you could just sit on your hands and say, no, I'm not going to do it. Because it's President Trump describing what these people, wonderful people, did.
>> Wesley Wildmon: The sacrifices I made, the one that I heard in the first half hour, I didn't fall asleep because it was boring. I fell asleep because I was re. Watching it close to midnight last night. but, the first half hour, they recognized the, not National Guard, the Coast Guard that helped out with the flooding in Texas Rescue. Over a hundred, we. I should have the hard number because that matters. Who rescued over 100, people, mostly kids from the.
>> Tim Wildmon: Oh. When the rivers flooded out there. And, those children died at the Christian camp.
>> Wesley Wildmon: The Christian camp, yes.
>> Fred Jackson: 164 girls at camp Mystic.
>> Wesley Wildmon: He rescued them.
>> Tim Wildmon: Were rescued or drowned?
>> Fred Jackson: No, he rescued them.
>> Tim Wildmon: He rescued them. This one postcard.
>> Fred Jackson: Compelling story. And President Trump told this story how this little girl who was caught in the midst of this flood, prayed, God, please, somebody rescue us.
Fred says President Trump's State of the Union speech was excellent
>> Tim Wildmon: Okay, what we're going to do, folks, today, for the most part this hour, we're going to play some of the clip from President Trump's speech last night, which, as Fred said, was, excellent in his estimation. And whoever the speechwriter was, of course President Trump delivered it, and he deserves credit, too. But whoever the speechwriter was, and he has great speechwriters, I don't know who all they are, but they need to be recognized at some point. But, maybe they are, and I just don't know it. But, they created this State of the Union message, which, as you say, focused on the greatness of some of our heroes and the spirit of America. and so we got a Clip So what are we about to hear, Chris?
>> Chris Woodward: Yeah, well, first of all, this is about two, minutes worth of audio. But it's a montage, of the various.
>> Tim Wildmon: Is it a montage?
>> Chris Woodward: It is a montage of various medal awards, including the Coast Guard swimmer. so let's begin there and then I'll go into the hockey stuff, which is a much shorter clip. But here is a montage of the various moments where he recognized people for their heroism. Clip 4.
>> Donald Trump: As the waters threatened to sweep her away, 11 year old Millie Kate McClaymond closed her eyes and prayed to God. She thought she was going to die. Those prayers were answered when Coast Guard rescue swimmer Scott Ruskin descended from a helicopter above.
Some Democrats did not stand for some of the awards during President's speech
I am, now awarding you the Legion of Merit for extraordinary heroism. The terrorist shot Andrew in the head and no one thought he could possibly make it. With God's help, Andrew has battled back from the edge of death. Now I'm going to ask a highly respected General James Seward to present Staff Sergeant Andrew Wolf and the great family of Sarah Beckstrom with the award created by our late, great President George Washington himself. It's called the Purple Heart. There were many heroes on that January raid to capture Maduro M. While preparing to land, enemy machine guns fired from every angle and Eric was hit very badly. Eric maneuvered his helicopter with all of those lives and souls to face the enemy and let his gunners eliminate the threat. I would now like to ask General Jonathan Braga to present Chief Warrant Officer Slover with our nation's highest military award, the Congressional Medal of Honor. Navy fighter pilot Royce Williams served in World War II, Korea, Vietnam, flying more than 220 missions. Ah, at 100 years old, this brave Navy captain is finally getting the recognition he deserves. I will ask the first lady of the United States to present Captain Royce Williams with his Congressional Medal of Honor.
>> Tim Wildmon: Wow.
>> Chris Woodward: I had to cut that down.
>> Tim Wildmon: That was a montage, Krish. That was a montage. And this was just, just so, just. He just went. How long did he do those, stories, Fred?
>> Fred Jackson: He just brought them in throughout the speech.
>> Tim Wildmon: Okay.
>> Fred Jackson: And it, it started.
>> Tim Wildmon: Are you telling me the Democrats sat on their hands for these or not all these, or was it a mixed response?
>> Fred Jackson: It was a mixed response with regards to the awarding of these medals. I think most Democrats may have stood, but I noticed some did not. but there was another point in the President's speech where they did not stand. And he called them out, the President did.
>> Chris Woodward: We have this as well?
>> Wesley Wildmon: That one we got to get to.
>> Tim Wildmon: Okay, yeah. All right. Anyway, that's not like him, though, calling somebody out publicly. Just not, Donald.
>> Chris Woodward: The kind.
>> Tim Wildmon: so.
Fred: If you didn't see it, just go watch the whole speech today
All right, so, because I want people to know, we would encourage folks to just go. If you didn't see it, just go watch the whole speech sometime today. But we're having to cut it up into two, sound bites here because of our. Otherwise, we might play the whole thing because it was excellent. the part again, I haven't seen it wall to wall, but the parts I've seen. And we do commend the, the content and the speechwriters. Now, by the way, the hockey team. The US Hockey team. Two things I was just watching there at the White House this morning. Yep. And they're in the Oval Office with,
>> Fred Jackson: They were there yesterday afternoon.
>> Tim Wildmon: Oh, they were. Okay. I'm sorry. I was watching video footage. I thought it was from this morning. So they were at the White House yesterday afternoon.
>> Fred Jackson: Yep.
>> Tim Wildmon: The US Gold, Medal winning Olympic hockey team. And they were at the, Capital. Capital last night for the State of the Union.
>> Wesley Wildmon: That's right. And Trump also mentioned right after he wrecked, right before he recognized, the men's hockey team. U.S. hockey. Hockey team. He did mention that the women's hockey team have accepted to come by the White House at a scheduled event. Okay, that's. That's an update from yesterday when we were unsure.
>> Tim Wildmon: Yeah, Fred, before we get to the.
President Trump praised helicopter pilot who was shot in the leg last night
To next, Are you going to play a montage?
>> Chris Woodward: No, I have much shorter clips going forward.
>> Tim Wildmon: No more montages.
>> Chris Woodward: No more montage.
>> Tim Wildmon: Spell montages, Krish.
>> Chris Woodward: Montages. I can M, M, O, N, T, A, G, E, s. I was in the sixth, grade Monroe county spelling Bee here in the great state of Mississippi.
>> Tim Wildmon: There you go. I didn't know you were.
>> Fred Jackson: Let's give him a medal.
>> Wesley Wildmon: That's right.
>> Tim Wildmon: Did you win the spelling bee?
>> Chris Woodward: I did not. And I've only been holding on to that for 30 years.
>> Wesley Wildmon: If you don't, you know.
>> Tim Wildmon: Do you remember who won it?
>> Chris Woodward: I do. it was the name. It, was a girl named Angela, and I think she won on broccoli.
>> Tim Wildmon: Which Broccoli was the word she you stumbled on.
>> Chris Woodward: I, I went out on roommate.
>> Tim Wildmon: Well, listen, I got to give you credit for even making the finals. Against who?
>> Wesley Wildmon: It was a lot of people for that, didn't you? I mean, no, I just got the
>> Chris Woodward: painful memories of spelling roommate wrong. But to this I remember it's two
>> Tim Wildmon: M's, but you got montage right there. And I put you on the spot. Fred, you were recounting in our show, prep meeting this morning, the gentleman who was, who President, Trump spoke of, he told the whole story. We only had time for a clip that flew the, helicopter into, Caracas. do you want, do you know the story I'm talking about? Yes. Yeah. Can you recount that just a little bit? You know, you said he got shot in the leg and.
>> Fred Jackson: Yes, he is Chief Warrant Officer Eric Slover.
>> Tim Wildmon: Slover we're talking about, folks, when the US Went in and captured Maduro. That's what we're talking about in Venezuela.
>> Fred Jackson: he was the pilot who flew this Chinook. If you're not familiar with various helicopters that we fly in this country, Chinook is a beast. It's a beast. Big helicopter, it has two rotors, right? All right. Carries troops.
>> Tim Wildmon: Okay.
>> Fred Jackson: So they go in, to where they believe Maduro is.
>> Tim Wildmon: Okay.
>> Fred Jackson: Obviously there's a lot of, protection around Maduro.
>> Tim Wildmon: Okay.
>> Fred Jackson: They're flying in to drop off these, military personnel and slovers. Eric Slover is the pilot. They, they start shooting at the helicopter. They hit his leg about three or four times.
>> Tim Wildmon: so the bullets come through the helicopter's body and hit the pilot?
>> Fred Jackson: Yes, because that cockpit is right up front. They're shooting at the cockpit, and it's coming in at the lower part of the helicopter. So it hits his legs. Okay, I don't want to get too vivid here, but President Trump did in his speech last night.
>> Tim Wildmon: How many shots hit him?
>> Fred Jackson: Three to four shots.
>> Tim Wildmon: Oh, my goodness.
>> Fred Jackson: He was bleeding so badly that President Trump said this last night that the blood from the wound was flowing back through the floor of the helicopter to the back of the helicopter. That's an image. It's important to this story because this is a man flying the helicopter. He keeps flying it. Yeah, he keeps flying it. And at some point, he and his co pilot maneuver that big Chinook helicopter. They turn it around 180 degrees so that the military personnel at the back of the helicopter, now they're facing the bad guys, and they open fire on the bad guys and take them out.
>> Tim Wildmon: Okay?
>> Fred Jackson: But Slover last night, still recovering from his injuries, he was brought into the balcony area. He obviously had a walker that he was holding onto. His dear wife was next to him. And he was, awarded, a special medal and went beyond. As the President said, Silver is still suffering from his wounds from the operation and praised his actions above and beyond his duty. No kidding.
>> Tim Wildmon: Now, was he the Purple Heart or Was it.
>> Chris Woodward: Oh, it was a different guy.
>> Fred Jackson: No, different.
>> Tim Wildmon: Okay. But, wow, what a story. I had not heard that. Had you heard that?
>> Fred Jackson: I had not heard it until last night.
>> Tim Wildmon: What do you think about that, Wesley? Did you get to see.
>> Wesley Wildmon: I didn't get to see that part, but it, ah, goes back to the montage of where President Trump sprinkled in throughout his speech recognizing our Christian, or our heroes. Heroes for, our military bravery. And the bravery, the heroism and the patriotism. I mean, that, like I said, that's what was the glue for the parts that I saw that was the glue to what he was doing. That kept. That kept it from look at me, look at me. Which, I mean, as a president, State of Union, you're gonna do the whole look what I've accomplished.
>> Tim Wildmon: Sure.
>> Wesley Wildmon: But, that right there was an unexpected breath of fresh air for a State of the Union.
>> Fred Jackson: Oh, yeah.

President Trump invited two Olympic hockey teams to the White House
All right, so, Krish, Fred, Wesley, and, Tim here. We. Oh, we don't have any guests today because we just. This is so good. We want to play you some of the clips. Now. Are, we about to get into the hockey thing?
>> Chris Woodward: Let's do the hockey before I get into the, Democrats.
>> Tim Wildmon: So he invited. President Trump invited the, two hockey teams, the go winning hockey teams, the, men's and women's. The women's didn't, come now. The invitation was extended. Late. Okay. So they probably be already. They may have. Already a lot of them individually may have had plans. I'm talking about the women's hockey team. So I don't think it necessarily should be taken as a snub on the invitation.
>> Wesley Wildmon: Yeah. Especially following the fact that they said, we're coming to the White House.
>> Tim Wildmon: Yes. And they've said, well, this was a snub.
>> Wesley Wildmon: It felt like that.
>> Tim Wildmon: It's felt like that. But they've said they, the women's team, they will be going to the White House. Those who want to, they've accepted the invitation. But the men's team accepted the invitation not only to visit the White House, but Also to be at the State of the Union last night and to be recognized, recognized by the president in front of, the Congress. In front of the, nation.
>> Chris Woodward: Yes.
>> Tim Wildmon: So what happened there, Chris?
>> Chris Woodward: Well, and I can tell you this is a much shorter clip here. It's less than a minute, but President Trump, he announces the team, they come out to cheer, cheering and applause, and then he. He, makes a big announcement for one of the players here. Clip 7.
>> Donald Trump: Here with us tonight is a group of winners who just made the entire nation proud. The men's gold medal Olympic hockey team.
>> Tim Wildmon: Come on in.
>> Donald Trump: I will soon be presenting Connor with our highest civilian honor, which we will be given and which has been given to many athletes over the years. But when I say many, not too many, like 12. It's called the highest civilian honor in our country, the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
>> Tim Wildmon: All right, Fred, what do you think about that?
>> Fred Jackson: Yeah. And the player he was talking about was the goalie for the U.S. team, Connor Hallebuck, who did just an outstanding job in that championship game. He did everything with his goalie pads and his gloves and his stick. The stick in particular, he was able to reach around and stop one shot, which could have given Canada the lead at a very critical point. But, as I think I mentioned yesterday, Conor Hellebuk actually plays for the Winnipeg jets, so he may be in the nets tonight in Winnipeg. Winnipeg is one of my favorite teams, and I'm going on. Right.
>> Tim Wildmon: He's an American playing on a Canadian professional hockey team.
>> Fred Jackson: Yeah, yeah.
>> Tim Wildmon: there's a lot of that back and forth. Yeah.
>> Fred Jackson: And Connor better play as well for
>> Tim Wildmon: Winnipeg as he did for the American.
>> Fred Jackson: As he did for the American team.
>> Tim Wildmon: Yeah, well, it was a. It was a wonderful moment. Wesley, what were you going to say about that?
>> Wesley Wildmon: Just added a funny part to that. Trump being Trump, he set up them coming through the doors and recognizing them by saying, hey, y' all voted for me to be a winner. We're winning. We're winning so much. I know y' all are getting tired of winning. Winning's exhausting, but we're gonna keep winning. And then he said, speaking about winning, and then he. Then he said, our usa.
>> Tim Wildmon: Yeah, I can hear his voice getting. It was kind of like, it was, you know, like a lead up to a. Yes, let's get ready to rumble.
>> Chris Woodward: It sounded over modulated, but he was just yelling. He was getting excited.
>> Fred Jackson: By the way, Connor was given that award. When the team visited the Oval Office yesterday, Trump said, I had a vote I had them vote on who should get this medal.
>> Tim Wildmon: Okay.
>> Fred Jackson: And it had to be 100% for whatever player. And they voted 100% for Conor Hellebuyck to get the medal.
>> Tim Wildmon: Well, I'm glad that happened. And President, Trump was able to recognize those guys and, and they were able to go to the White House to be a lifelong memory.
>> Fred Jackson: Do you know how they got to Washington from Miami? They flew into M. Miami.
>> Tim Wildmon: Yeah. They couldn't fly back to NewSong York City.
>> Fred Jackson: Yes.
>> Tim Wildmon: Or Boston because the blizzard.
>> Fred Jackson: yes. So, from Italy.
>> Tim Wildmon: I'm talking about the hockey team. Yeah.
>> Fred Jackson: But President Trump sent Air Force Two, down to pick them up. To pick them up in Miami. So they arrived in Washington on Air Force Two. On Air Force Two.
>> Wesley Wildmon: W. That's a cool experience.
Fred Cannon: President Trump spoke about Iran and nuclear ambitions last night
>> Tim Wildmon: Okay. You're listening to today's issues on the American Family Radio Network. Now, there were more serious, segments of, what President Trump had to talk about last night. I'm thinking namely the economy.
>> Fred Jackson: Yeah.
>> Tim Wildmon: And then the potential war with Iran. Right.
>> Chris Woodward: Yeah. Iran is certainly something we're all watching for. I mean, the newsroom is pretty much on stand.
>> Tim Wildmon: I'm not watching for it because I don't want it. Well, I'm just kidding.
>> Wesley Wildmon: Yeah.
>> Tim Wildmon: I know what you're saying that, all eyes are on that because our military buildup in that region of the world.
>> Chris Woodward: And you know, oddly enough, he didn't really even get into Iran until about the last 30 minutes of this address. But long story short, here's what he says about Iran and their nuclear ambitions.
>> Donald Trump: Clip 5 My preference is to solve this problem through diplomacy. But one thing is certain. I will never allow the world's number one sponsor of terror, which they are by far, to have a nuclear weapon. Can't let that happen.
>> Tim Wildmon: Okay, let me just say this before we get into that, this has been said by presidents as, at least back to President Obama, maybe prior to him, they said the same exact thing that President Trump is saying, and that is, we will not allow Iran to get a nuclear weapon. All right? Because we can't, because these people are nuts. This is what. I don't know. He didn't say it like that. Their, their religious views, the atollas, not the general population of Iran, but the ayatollahs, the, religious, leaders there, they have a apocalyptic view of the world. And they're not that they seem unafraid to use nuclear weapons, bring in to usher in what, their religious views say is going to happen. If I got that Right. Basically, friend, you.
>> Fred Jackson: You are exactly right.
>> Tim Wildmon: So I know President Obama said exactly the same thing, and, Biden did, too. President Biden said the same thing. We can't allow, and I won't allow Iran. As best I remember, that's what he, what he said. So Trump is only, agreeing with Democrats what Democrat presidents have said at least over the last 15 to 20 years that I recall. So set that this is setting up for a. It's a showdown. Okay. Because Iran, at least at this moment, seems unwilling to give up their plans to build a nuclear weapon. And President Trump is saying, we're not going to let you. And if you don't stop now, we're fixing to bomb you and bomb you and bomb you and bomb you. Have I got this right, Fred?
>> Fred Jackson: Yeah, you're exactly right. And in the lead up to that clip we just played with regards to this, Trump did note that the United States went in and bombed them heavily with Israel's help back a couple of months ago. And he says the word is that they're rebuilding that establishment that was bombed.
>> Tim Wildmon: That didn't take long.
>> Fred Jackson: No, it didn't. And he, this is a critical period because tomorrow there is another set of negotiations.
>> Tim Wildmon: Okay. This is the one that's going on in Geneva.
>> Fred Jackson: Yes. And my guess is we're getting down to the point where Iran has to fish or cut bait on this.
>> Tim Wildmon: Okay.
>> Fred Jackson: They've got to make a decision or the United States is going to say it's. It's off. We're going to respond.
>> Tim Wildmon: All right. We're going to continue talking about this, when we get back from the break.
American Family Radio Network has a new app that lets you listen anywhere
if you want to make something a matter of prayer today, I think this is an extremely serious situation that Christians need to pray for. I don't know what to pray for exactly, except you can pray for President Trump and his administration, and they make the right decisions.

Today's Issues features clips from President Trump's State of the Union speech
>> Jeff Chamblee: This is today's issues. Email your comments to commentsfr.net past broadcast of today's Issues are available for listening and viewing in the [email protected] now back to more of today's issues.
>> Tim Wildmon: Hey, welcome back, everybody, to Today's Issues on the American Family Radio Network. Thanks for listening. We hope you're having a wonderful day. If you're not, then, stay tuned because we got some clips from the State of the Union speech last night that President Trump gave, which I think is gonna cheer you up. he, he was. Fred says. Fred saw 20. He's seen 29 state of the Union speeches over the decades, and he says that was the best one last night certainly was. For content.
>> Fred Jackson: For content, yeah.
>> Tim Wildmon: Yeah. And so whoever came up with the, the items that they would cover at the White House did a, excellent job, especially focusing on American, heroism.
>> Fred Jackson: Yeah.
>> Tim Wildmon: Exceptionalism and some of the. Anytime you can tell us somebody's personal story as he did, that was, that, that was, unifying.
>> Wesley Wildmon: And that's right.
Fred Kaplan: The United States military is ready to go against Iran
>> Tim Wildmon: All right, so where were. We were talking about Iran. Hm. Okay. What, what's, what you got on that?
>> Chris Woodward: Well, we played saying much, like other presidents have said, no nukes for Iran.
>> Tim Wildmon: Anything more to say to this, Fred? We have the buildup going on, and
>> Fred Jackson: as you wrapped up the last portion, of the program, we need to be praying for these negotiations tomorrow. the, this could be the last chance for the Iranians to say, okay, we'll agree with you. I'm not optimistic they will say that. but, if they, if they don't, if they do not give the United States a commitment to stop developing their nuclear, capabilities and to stop developing their ballistic missiles, then I think we need to prepare for battle.
>> Tim Wildmon: How many, how many warships we got over there now?
>> Fred Jackson: We have, I'll put it this way, dozens. We have a great many in the Indian Ocean, just south of where Iran is. And now the carrier Ford, the uss, Ford, Gerald Ford has docked in a port in Crete. If you read your Bible, you know, Paul visited the island of Crete, not too far off the coast of Israel. So it is there right now, but that is within literally shooting distance, to Iran.
>> Tim Wildmon: So the United States military is ready to go.
>> Fred Jackson: Yes.
>> Tim Wildmon: Against Iran, full force, except for boots on the ground invasion, as soon as President Trump gives the word. Right.
>> Fred Jackson: Easy. We've put squadrons of fighter jets in Jordan and other strategic locations. so, yes, we're ready to go.
>> Tim Wildmon: Thing is, well, we don't know what this is going to look like until it happens.
>> Fred Jackson: That's right.
>> Tim Wildmon: Okay, so we'll, we'll. That's why we need to be praying for. We. Praying for peace first and foremost. Right. Hopefully we can reach some kind of agreement that doesn't require.
>> Fred Jackson: Yes.
>> Tim Wildmon: Us to go to war with Iran.
The Democrats did not stand in support of American citizens being prioritized over illegal immigrants
All right, so, the next topic was what. What were we?
>> Chris Woodward: Border security.
>> Tim Wildmon: Border security. Okay.
>> Wesley Wildmon: clip to there for.
>> Tim Wildmon: You want to say anything about this for we hear it, Wesley, or you'll comment afterwards?
>> Wesley Wildmon: but the portion that I mentioned, I mentioned in the first segment, I saw about 30 to 40 minutes of it. And in that portion that I saw, there was only one time where he said, we're going to, I'm paraphrasing, but we're going to take a boat here. We're going to take a standing boat. And, and then he played. And then it's this clip. I don't want to give it away from his word, but he basically said we need, I want to get a standing vote from both part parties on this issue. Clip 2 yes.
>> Donald Trump: If you agree with this statement, then stand up and show your support. The first duty of, the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens. Isn't that a shame? You should be ashamed of yourself not
>> Wesley Wildmon: standing up because you, they, our listeners can't see here. But the Democrats did not stand in support of American, citizens being prioritized over illegal immigrants.
>> Tim Wildmon: Why wouldn't you stand for that?
>> Wesley Wildmon: Good question. At least fake it. that's a good question, Fred.
>> Tim Wildmon: Why didn't the Democrats stand on that one?
>> Fred Jackson: Because it is the, sadly, it is the politics of the Democratic Party and their platform of the Democratic Party. They do not recognize these people as being bad people because they entered the country illegally. They regard these people as legal immigrants, that they have a right to be here. And Tim, as you have pointed out so many times that when Joe Biden was president of these United States, he allowed at least 15 million of these people in here with the hopes of giving them legal status so they can vote for the Democratic Party.
>> Tim Wildmon: It's a strategy. It's a strategy on the part of
>> Wesley Wildmon: the Democrats to destroy the country.
>> Tim Wildmon: Well, yeah, if you destroy the country. Because they want to destroy the legitimacy of the American people to vote.
>> Tim Wildmon: Because they want to make all these people that they're letting into the country, they want to allow them to vote. That's why they're against, the Democrats I'm talking about. Now, this is broadly and generally, not every particular Democrat falls into this category. John Fetterman, the Democrat senator from Pennsylvania, is outliers. Yeah, he's an exception. But they're, they're few. There are only a few exceptions. Most of the Democrats want people to be able to come in here, from around the world and pour into our country as Biden let him in. And then he wants to. Then the next step would be, okay, let's make these people eligible to vote. Let's give them a pathway to citizenship. That's what they'll, that's what they'll call it.
>> Wesley Wildmon: but the visual along with the audio was worth playing for everyone because it was that obvious.
>> Tim Wildmon: He wanted to put them on the record, for everybody to see.
>> Fred Jackson: Yeah.
>> Tim Wildmon: And, and it was a, that's a clear quote, I would say, even, even probably for some Democrats. They were probably looking around. okay, I don't want to. Should I stand for this or not? Because if I stand for this, I'm agreeing with Trump's ICE policies. Yes, that's, that's the way they would pretty much. And Trump's ICE policies, I would argue. Okay, yes, we've had a couple of, unfortunate, unfortunate situations in Minnesota where people died, while they were, you know, confronting ICE agents. Those cases are still being adjudicated and investigated. So we don't know exactly what led to their, to the shootings against these, folks, these two people who died, but they were agitators and they were out looking for trouble. Okay, so, but, but anyway, so President Trump just wanted to go on record as saying, now there's no arguing that he shut down the border.
>> Wesley Wildmon: Oh, yeah, right.
>> Tim Wildmon: He did that from day one. But that was one of his major campaign promises.
>> Wesley Wildmon: Yes, that's right.
>> Tim Wildmon: Right.
Fred Green says Democrats sat on their hands over Somali comments last night
So, all right, so anyway, he said that the Democrats sat on their hands.
>> Fred Jackson: Yeah.
>> Tim Wildmon: Now, so I saw some of the squad. That's right, the infamous squad. That is, Fred, do you know this All Star lineup?
>> Fred Jackson: well, what we saw on, the camera shots last night was Elon Omar. She's a starter from Minnesota, and Rashida Talib.
>> Tim Wildmon: Okay. She's also a starter. She's a starter.
>> Fred Jackson: Yes. And they were screaming like they were at a boxing match.
>> Tim Wildmon: Alexandria Ocasio, Cortez. She's, she's like their coach.
>> Fred Jackson: I don't think she was in the chamber last night.
>> Chris Woodward: Yeah, I think she was at the alternate event.
>> Wesley Wildmon: That's right.
>> Chris Woodward: With, people in costumes.
>> Tim Wildmon: And she didn't even go out.
>> Fred Jackson: No.
>> Tim Wildmon: Okay, well, we could kick her off team for the ball game if you're gonna run. Any more members of the squad there? Was it Taliban?
>> Chris Woodward: I don't know.
>> Tim Wildmon: They were the ones shouting at Trump, Right?
>> Chris Woodward: Yeah, I don't know that Ayanna Presley was there either. She's another one. She's from Massachusetts. but they got a lot of camera time. Were Omar and Talib.
>> Tim Wildmon: All right. And, and. And the also, the gentleman that got kicked out.
>> Chris Woodward: Oh, Greene. Yeah. For the second year in a row, the congressman from Texas.
>> Tim Wildmon: Democrats go back to singing, if you ask me. Would you agree, Fred? That's right. Great soul singer. And then now he went to Congress.
>> Wesley Wildmon: Now one of the politics changes you.
>> Fred Jackson: Yeah.
>> Wesley Wildmon: Which one? Which was the member of the squad that was there that got up in tears, over, Trump's comment about the Somali.
>> Chris Woodward: Oh, that was Omar.
>> Wesley Wildmon: Omar, okay.
>> Chris Woodward: She's from that part of the.
>> Tim Wildmon: Well, Trump was pointing out the, theft that taken place. Oh, yeah, The. The bra. The fraud that's taking place within the Somali community.
>> Chris Woodward: Yes.
>> Fred Jackson: Yeah, we have that.
>> Chris Woodward: We do. And also, so in this spot, you'll hear Trump talk about Minnesota fraud as well as fraud in other states, and who he's going to put in charge of policing, all this. Clip 10.
>> Donald Trump: When it comes to the corruption, that is plundering. Really, it's plundering America. There's been no more stunning example than Minnesota, where members of the Somali community have pillaged an estimated $19 billion from the America taxpayer. We have all the information, and in actuality, the number is much higher than that. And California, Massachusetts, Maine, and many other states are even worse. This is the kind of corruption that shreds the fabric of a nation, and we are working on it like you wouldn't believe. So tonight, although started four months ago, I am officially announcing the war on fraud to be led by our great vice president, J.D. vance.
>> Tim Wildmon: Okay. I did hear who was shouting at him.
>> Chris Woodward: That was Omar. And then Talib joined Her.
>> Tim Wildmon: And what were they shouting?
>> Chris Woodward: They were yelling that it's a lie.
>> Tim Wildmon: The fraud.
>> Chris Woodward: The fraud, the claims from the government, the federal government about the fraud is a lie.
>> Wesley Wildmon: This is a lie.
>> Tim Wildmon: That is, that is like saying the sun is not hot. These people have been busted in Minnesota and they've already had like 75 indictments.
>> Chris Woodward: And many of them are Somalis. That's the fact.
>> Tim Wildmon: And even Tim Waltz said, I'm not running for office anymore. And his daughter, Tim Waltz, daughter said there's a lot here to go. I mean, that's okay. You can shout whatever you want to, but don't shout that. This fraud they've uncovered in the billions. I think it's in the billions, yes. And that's just the ones we know in Minnesota. is not true. It is true. Right. So anyway, I don't know what, she calling him a liar?
>> Chris Woodward: Yeah, pretty much.
Vice President Vance announces war on fraud on Fox before show starts
Now, do we have 18? I want to check before we play this. Okay.
>> Tim Wildmon: The 18. They were there.
>> Chris Woodward: Clip 18.
>> Jeff Chamblee: Yeah.
>> Chris Woodward: Oh, clip 8 I Peter the fool. But anyway, clip 18 here is this is Vice, President Vance on Fox just before the show started. And Bill, Hemmer asks him like, hey, like, do we even really know how much money has gone to fraud? And Vance says, we don't really know, but we'll get to the bottom of it. And he rattles off this clip 18 many Americans over the next nine months. And we'll follow that very carefully.
>> Tim Wildmon: In the meantime, you've got a new job. Here it is, the announcement last night from the President.
>> Donald Trump: I'm officially announcing the war on fraud to be led by our great vice president, J.D. vance.
>> Chris Woodward: Okay, I messed up. Apparently that's not all edited.
>> Tim Wildmon: That was a fraud. You're Chris, that's not a lie.
>> Wesley Wildmon: That's not a lie.
>> Chris Woodward: Yeah, I messed up that one.
>> Tim Wildmon: Okay, What'd you mean to do?
>> Chris Woodward: Well, basically, Vance, it was supposed to just be Vance talking about how we are giving, billions of dollars to illegals and scammers and we're going to put a stop to it.
>> Tim Wildmon: Okay, I'm sorry.
President Trump chastised Democrats for not standing up against transgendered surgeries
Alright, we need to get to the transgendered stuff here.
>> Chris Woodward: And this is another.
>> Tim Wildmon: How did that issue come up?
>> Chris Woodward: Yeah, so when he kept recognizing, various people in the crowd. At one point last night, the President mentioned a young lady named Sage. And Sage's story is similar to that of Chloe Cole, where a few years ago Sage, decided she wanted to transition and try to become a man. As if you can do that with medications and surgeries. But Sage, much like Chloe, Cole, decided to change her mind and now she's been, one of the people speaking out. She's a so called detransitioner. And Trump used her courage coming forward and speaking out against these things, to say that we need to put an end, to policies that give, medications and do surgeries on minors here. And that's again when he chastised Democrats for not standing up.
>> Donald Trump: Clip 3 Look, nobody stands up. These people are crazy. I'm telling you, they're crazy.
>> Tim Wildmon: Okay, he's talking about the Democrats who aren't standing.
>> Fred Jackson: Yes.
>> Tim Wildmon: And on which particular issue, Fred?
>> Fred Jackson: To put a stop to these minors.
>> Tim Wildmon: Okay, gotcha.
>> Fred Jackson: Doing these. And I think in particular in Sage's story, the procedures were carried out without her parents knowledge.
>> Tim Wildmon: What state did she live in?
>> Chris Woodward: somewhere on the east coast because she's going to Liberty now.
>> Tim Wildmon: Was that Virginia?
>> Fred Jackson: I'm not sure, but that was the issue. And I mean, come on, America, surely you could support a policy where a kid, right. Where a kid is messed up right in their teen years and the, the medical establishment, the school, whatever the case may be, says, we're not even going to tell your mom what we're going to do to you.
>> Tim Wildmon: Okay, so just to be clear, ah, you, you work, Fred. But I want folks to clearly understand what president. Because we didn't play the whole clip, what President Trump is talking about, he's citing a story, is stand up if you're opposed to performing sex changes and giving chemical, drugs, to hormones. Sex hormones to minors.
>> Fred Jackson: Yes.
>> Tim Wildmon: Can you stand with me? Opposed to that or not? And the Democrats, most all of them are, all of them sat on their hands because they're in favor.
>> Fred Jackson: Oh yeah, yes.
>> Tim Wildmon: Of minors, children being able to have these awful things, given to them, these drugs given to them, these sex changes made to them without even having to have the consent of their parents. That's what.
>> Fred Jackson: Despite the fact in recent weeks the American Medical association has come out against, has come out in favor of Trump's policy, the American Medical Association.
>> Tim Wildmon: Wesley, what's going on here? Why wouldn't you stand for that?
>> Wesley Wildmon: Well, let me, before I answer that, let me say this is moments like this where down days from now we can still look back and say with great confidence that the Democrat Party is in support of, we can use, we can use broad, brushes on this issue because the entire Democrat Party had a chance to support the common sense.
>> Tim Wildmon: Common sense and parental rights and protecting kids.
>> Wesley Wildmon: That's exactly right.
>> Tim Wildmon: You know what happened the other day, you know, we reported on this and, that a young lady who's in her early 20s, she had her breast removed when she was 16 years old because people were encouraging her, she would say, hey, I feel like I'm a man, a male. They said, well, you know, you need to deal 16 years old, well, you need to have your sex change, you know. So she went to this cosmetic, surgeon, and he said, hey, I'll do it. I'll take your breast off. And he did it. And that's sick, by the way. Just sick. And now she's 20, in early 20s, and she sues them. Yeah, she says, they shouldn't have allowed me to do this. And I completely agree. Now, I believe in personal accountability for your actions. When you're a minor and you have somebody, you have adults telling you do something like this, especially a medical doctor saying, I'll do surgery like what he did to her. Well, she sued him and the hospital and she won $2 million. Right, right, right. And this is going to stop this kind of craziness to buy from Trump. This is going to stop this kind of craziness, at least at a doctor and hospital level. But President Trump was saying, do you agree with, with that minors should not be able to do this? And the Democrats, at least last night sat on their hands. so I. That there are certain there. Yes, there are a lot of issues in our country that are. 50. 50. Yeah. But Wesley, as you point out, there are some issues that are 80, 20.
>> Wesley Wildmon: This is one of them.
>> Tim Wildmon: And this is one of. Where 80% of Americans are more would agree that kids, minors should not be able to have surgeries, to change their bodies.
>> Wesley Wildmon: And we had poll. We had, not polls. We had a, basically a chart on this where we saw statistics. And even The Democrats were 60 to 70% opposed to minors.
>> Tim Wildmon: Democrat voters.
>> Wesley Wildmon: Democrat. But of course, it was up in the 90s for the Republicans.
>> Tim Wildmon: Right, sure.
>> Wesley Wildmon: But you got the overwhelming majority of people to make the point that are opposed to this, and this is something they can't agree on as a party platform.
>> Fred Jackson: But here's the puzzling thing. One of the big issues why democrats lost in 24 was this issue of, males in women's sports. Males going into that was a big issue. Female bathrooms and changing rooms. The Democratic Party has not changed its stance on that. This is one of the issues they lost on in 24. But apparently for some strange reason, they're sticking with it.
Brent says Trump said, nobody stands up when describing crazy people
>> Tim Wildmon: Okay, I got to hear Trump say crazy one more time. That was just, very satisfying.
>> Wesley Wildmon: Clip on the context.
>> Tim Wildmon: So. So this is when Trump described this young, lady I just talked about, or one of the stories there. And they didn't stand. Then he looked over to them, President Trump did, and said with all the love in his heart he could gather. What did he say, Brent?
>> Donald Trump: Look, nobody stands up. These people are crazy. I'm telling you, they're crazy.
>> Wesley Wildmon: He said it with conviction, too. That was not on the teleprompter. No, that was not.
>> Chris Woodward: I want to put that on my phone and then go somewhere really quiet, like a very quiet room, then have
>> Wesley Wildmon: somebody call me and go to a coffee shop.
>> Chris Woodward: These people are crazy.
>> Wesley Wildmon: Go to the library.
>> Tim Wildmon: What he said was, nobody's standing these people. Okay, promise not to do it anymore.
>> Wesley Wildmon: One more.
>> Tim Wildmon: But, I'm getting such a kick out of this. It's. It's making my day. I've got to hear it one more time.
>> Donald Trump: Look, nobody stands up. These people are crazy. I'm telling you, they're crazy.
>> Tim Wildmon: There's a reason they call them the loony left.
>> Fred Jackson: Yeah.
>> Chris Woodward: Ah, that will be. If that's not on a campaign ad.
>> Fred Jackson: Oh, that.
>> Tim Wildmon: That's a meme later this year. that's a, that's a phone. You ought to put that on your phone. And every time your phone rings, it needs to say, have Trump saying, these people are crazy.
>> Chris Woodward: I wanna. I wanna put that on my phone and then go to, like, MPB or something and have.
>> Tim Wildmon: You need to do it.
>> Chris Woodward: Npr.
>> Tim Wildmon: How do you. How do you get a radio? But if you're gonna do that, can you do that? Can you put that on your phone?
>> Wesley Wildmon: I'm sure you can. There's. There's a way you can make that a ringtone. I. I've got.
>> Chris Woodward: Yeah. Oh, yeah, there's a way.
>> Wesley Wildmon: But I, I would. If you do do that, we're gonna have to have a hidden camera somewhere.
>> Tim Wildmon: Oh, that would be hilarious. Yeah. You need to be able to get
>> Wesley Wildmon: the reaction of the other people listening.
>> Tim Wildmon: Okay.
Why does the Democrat Party not stand for these 80 20s
Anyway, so there you go.
>> Chris Woodward: Right on that.
>> Wesley Wildmon: You asked me a question about. And I didn't. I didn't quite answer it about why does the left, or in this case, the Democrat Party, not stand for these 80 20s? You know, there's a long answer, there's a short answer, and a medium answer. The short answer is there. It's just. It's an evil position. It's demonic not to stand for something like this. a short More meat, a shorter answer. Kind of a medium answer. We won't get into the long answer, but the medium answers, they, they've boxed themselves in by allowing the squad type people into their, their camp. Because I. To your point, I bet there's probably 50, 50 of those Democrats that think
>> Tim Wildmon: that's crazy, but they're, they're more traditional Democrats and they're not the far left loonies.
>> Chris Woodward: Right.
>> Tim Wildmon: But they don't want to disagree with the far left loonies because they know the far left loonies will then come after them.
>> Wesley Wildmon: M. That's right.
>> Tim Wildmon: Right.
>> Wesley Wildmon: Yeah.
>> Chris Woodward: You'll get AOC and Bernie Sanders campaigning in your backyard for your primary challenger if you go down that road.
>> Tim Wildmon: I got.
>> Wesley Wildmon: They've allowed the wrong people in.
Jim: I got another gym. If there wasn't already one
>> Tim Wildmon: All right. You're listening to today's issues on the American Family Radio Network. What's, you got another, I do. Jim, you got another gym? Yes, G.M.
>> Chris Woodward: i sure do. This was a bike drop moment, if you. If there wasn't already one.
The president wants people to show ID in order to vote
But on the subject of, voter id, the president wants people to show ID in order to vote. And he explains why Democrats won't get behind that clip 8 and the reason
>> Donald Trump: they don't want to do it. Why would anybody not want voter id? One reason. Because they want to cheat. There's only one reason. They make up all excuses. They say it's racist. They come up with things. You almost say, what imagination that they have. They want to cheat. They have cheated, and their policy is so bad that the only way they can get elected is to cheat.
>> Chris Woodward: he also mentioned at one point last night. I don't have the sound bite, but he mentioned at one point last night that he's technically in his third term.
>> Donald Trump: Yes, he did.
>> Wesley Wildmon: I heard that. Part two. Yeah,
>> Chris Woodward: yeah, he, you know, he, you know, he says he got robbed in 2020 because they cheated.
>> Tim Wildmon: Right. He didn't talk about that anymore, does he?
>> Chris Woodward: Yeah. At one point last night, he said he is in his third term.
>> Wesley Wildmon: Technically.
>> Tim Wildmon: You know,
>> Wesley Wildmon: he did. He almost. For me, he crossed the line on that one, but it was funny.
>> Tim Wildmon: On what? What did he cross the line on?
>> Wesley Wildmon: Oh, he said, he said it was a third term. And I just get. I mean, it was, it was back.
>> Tim Wildmon: We have that.
>> Chris Woodward: No, we don't. We don't.
>> Fred Jackson: I'm sorry.
>> Wesley Wildmon: He, he. Because, you know, he tapered off and he was more. He was more.
>> Tim Wildmon: Then the squad started booing him and
>> Wesley Wildmon: then he's like, you know,
>> Fred Jackson: I'm surprised at that point that the President didn't mention. And you got this communist mayor up in NewSong York. He's making them, show ID to shovel snow.
>> Tim Wildmon: That would have been a great point to make.
>> Chris Woodward: Oh, yeah, I don't have this one. I brought in a lot. I don't have this.
>> Tim Wildmon: Well, I don't know.
>> Chris Woodward: He did mention Mamdani and called him a communist. And he talked about how Mamdani wants you to show ID to vote, but you can't. To shovel snow, but you can't do it to vote. He did mention that.
>> Fred Jackson: Okay.
>> Tim Wildmon: I don't think. On a Bible, I don't think President Trump listens to our show. But that's exactly what I said, exactly the way I said it. There's no other reason. play that again right there. If you're opposed to voter id, when you, that is identifying yourself officially when you go vote so we'll know you are who you say you are, then, I agree with President Trump 100% on this. What do you say and the reason
>> Donald Trump: they don't want to do it? Why would anybody not want voter id? One reason. Because they want to cheat. There's only one reason. They make up all excuses. They say it's racist. They come up with things. You almost say what imagination they have. They want to cheat. They have cheated, and their policy is so bad that the only way they can get elected is to cheat.
>> Tim Wildmon: All right, what are we having for lunch?
>> Wesley Wildmon: That's right.
>> Tim Wildmon: Anybody want to go to lunch?
>> Wesley Wildmon: As Krish point out. Mic drop.
>> Fred Jackson: Yeah.
>> Tim Wildmon: Yeah. Well, that was, that was. Don't. Over. Listen, I, I, I am, I'm all for decorum. but when the people from the audience start shouting you down, then President Trump is his. His NewSong Yorker comes out at him, and he's just gonna go back at you. We'll be back in a moment. Stay with us. The views and opinions expressed in this broadcast may not necessarily reflect those of
