Speaker B: Welcome to Real Truth for Today with Pastor Jeff Schrieve, senior pastor of First Baptist Church in Texarkana, Texas. Now, here's Pastor Jeff.
Pastor Jeff Schrieve: Well, good morning, and welcome to Real Truth for today. Pastor Jeff Schrieve here. Hope you're having a, good Wednesday morning. I, was thinking this morning about how God works miracles. When, you know, we have that expression, it's always darkest before the dawn, and how things were so bad in the Old Testament for, the nation of Israel, as they went into the promised land and had their judges. And, we read about the call of Gideon, and, it's bad. At the time of Gideon, the Midianites had subjugated, God's people. And the Lord appears to Gideon as he's threshing wheat in the winepress in a hole. That's typically not where you do it. You go to a high place so that, the wind can blow away the chaff. But he's doing that to hide it from the Midianites. And the angel of the Lord appeared to him and said to him, the Lord is with you, O valiant warrior. Then Gideon said to him, o my Lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all his miracles, which our fathers told us about, saying, did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt? But now the Lord has abandoned us and given us into the hand of Midian. And the Lord looked at him and said, go in this your strength and deliver Israel from the hand of Midian. Have I not sent you? Listen, when things look grim, remember God is the God of hope, as the scripture says. Romans 15:13. Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace, and believing that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit, there is hope for our nation. Now, we don't read about America in prophecy, so the hope doesn't go through until the coming of Christ, the actual second coming of Jesus. but there is hope for us because the Lord is at work, and, we are preaching A kingdom that is not of this world. And we're telling people about Jesus. And I believe that as we pray, we will see a great revival sweep our nation and sweep the world before the Lord returns. Well, to help me, I always like to invite this next guest, Rod Martin, on the program when we talk about current events and what is going on. And, Rod is a frequent guest and good friend, technology entrepreneur, philosopher capitalist, and founder and CEO of Martin Capital and the Martin Report. Rod, you're looking good, my friend.
Rod Martin: Thank you. Good to be here.
Pastor Jeff Schrieve: Okay, lots going on in our, in our world today. right off the bat, I want to talk to you about your favorite institution, the Southern Poverty Law Center. they were indicted by a grand jury. Todd Blanche, read the indictment. what do you make of that? You know, we read all this stuff. Okay, they're doing these terrible things, and now they're indicted. But, but what are the ramifications of that if they're found guilty? What does that really mean?
Rod Martin: Well, people are going to go to prison, and there's going to be, significant, significant question, I think. I haven't seen the indictment yet, so I don't know exactly, the. The jots and tittles of the. The, indictment and the charges, although I know in broad brush, certainly read all the media reports inside, that indictment is probably a threat to their nonprofit status. Directly or indirectly, they have been operating as perhaps one of the most corrupt institutions in the country. The Southern Poverty Law center cut its teeth on fighting for civil rights. So, hey, that's great. But somewhere along the way, they got very busily needing to create civil rights incidents so that they could continue fundraising. This is an enormous organization. We're talking about hundreds of millions, if not billions of dollars, and they actually had to start being Jussie Smollett. It turns out they have funded the American Nazi Party. They have funded the Ku Klux Klan, the very people that they say they're fighting. And the reason has been simple. Get those guys to go provoke some event that gets a lot of news coverage, and then from there, they're able to raise money from their big donors. Now, who are their big donors? They're big donors of Fortune 500 companies. Of course you have individuals, of course you have lots of Democrats who give to the SPLC. But the real money comes from these Fortune 500 don't boardrooms that they have been haunting for decades. They go into these places and they say, look, you know, we're fighting racism, we're fighting evil. You've got to be on the side of fighting evil, don't you? And by the way, if you aren't, we're going to out you as being evil. And so these companies, write them a huge check and let them, dictate business. What do I mean about that? Well, the SBLC maintains a hate group like list. If you fall on their list, you are designated as someone who purveys hate, who actively is seeking to destroy people of color and women and poor little transgendered people and, you know, whatever. And of course we have to be against that. The hate group list is given to these Fortune 500 companies. And that's how you got a lot of the debanking that you got a few years ago where major banks like bank of America are just shutting down people's accounts, you know, say, oh, well, tough for you and you know, ruining people's lives in very real ways because they are part of a hate group. Well, who are the hate groups? Well, among hate groups are things like Focus on the Family M, the Family Research Council, all kinds of just mainstream conservative and Christian organizations that just oppose socialism. And, and this has been the scam for many, many years. Well, now we find out, okay, that's bad enough. Honestly, that should have been a RICO investigation years ago from the doj. And this DOJ actually has the teeth to do something. But what it is right this minute is an organization that manufactured the racist incidents, including the Charlottesville disaster in, in 2017. This organization, in the name of fighting racism, was funding the racism. It was fighting to get more donations. It is absolutely criminal. And again, people are going to jail.
Pastor Jeff Schrieve: Well, I hope so. that's just, that's so far beyond the pale. That's like a fire department that says, we don't have enough to do, let's start some fires.
Rod Martin: And yes, well, look, look, the, the demand for racism in America greatly outstrips the supply. That's why you have a Jussie Smollett in the first place. He wanted to get attention by being the victim of a racist attack by red hat wearing Trump activists. Well, it was all a scam. None of it was true. And he, he had some significant legal troubles as a result of this fraud he perpetrated on the public. Well, the SPLC was doing it at industrial scale because they just can't find any of this right wing racism that they want to find. Now if, if they want to go after Tucker Carlsen and Candace Owens, maybe they can find some today. But I would suggest that those Two have left the right. They've certainly announced they've left the Republican Party. So if that is true, going after them doesn't help the SPLC's cause. The SPLC wants to demonize you. The SPLC wants to demonize the American Family Association. And, and you know, somebody who is a former Republican doesn't get it done. So they are framing people, they are inciting actual violence and then raising money from it. And it is just wicked.
Pastor Jeff Schrieve: All right, let me ask you about the, the dsa, the Democratic Socialist association, whatever the A stands for, and the, dnc, Democratic National Convention. has the, has the horse left the barn on that? I know that there was a narrow victory last night in Wisconsin from the establishment, the Democrat establishment candidate versus the, DSA candidate. But has the fringe party totally taken over the Democratic Party in your view?
Rod Martin: Well, first, the Francesca Hong, example is a near miss for the Democrats, but awfully near. she lost that primary for governor, let's be clear. Primary for governor in a state that almost always elects the Democrat nominee. She lost that race 39.4 to 39.8.
Speaker B: Yes.
Rod Martin: That's about as razor thin as you get. So. So clearly, as we saw in Michigan with El Said, you know, and as we saw in NewSong York with Zoran Mumdani and countless other examples, the Democratic Socialists of America, the A stands for America. The DSA is, just open in its aims. There was a time when it wasn't so open, when it pretended to be anti communist and so forth. These guys just had their convention this month, and one of their senior leaders gets up on the podium and, and says, and I'm quoting, our goal is communism. And the crowd cheered. That's who these people are. They're actual communists. Even Maduro and Chavez wouldn't admit to being communists. I remember when Danny Ortega in Nicaragua wouldn't admit to being a communist at first. Fidel Castro wouldn't admit to being a communist. These guys aren't even in power yet and they're telling you our goal is communism. Well, what is communism? Well, communism is exactly what Zoran Mamdani has been saying. We are going to seize the means of production. Anybody who owns anything is going to lose it to the city or the state or whatever, as soon as we have the power to pull it off. So, so just mass confiscation is what these guys stand for. Can they get there? That's a separate question. This is what they would do in power if they had the opportunity. But we Know, it's worse than that because when you say that you're a communist, we know the record of communism. We've had communism for a long time. The first communist country that, that lasted for more than, just a brief moment was Russia in, in 1917. And the Russians and the Chinese and the Cambodians and all of their friends over the course of less than a century murdered 100 million of their own people, 65 million of those just in China. And these guys love Mao. These guys talk about Maoism. so, so when they say they are for communism, they understand what they're saying. This is an incredibly evil and totalitarian movement that has a hundred million lives blood on its hands and they're embracing it. So yeah, I'd say the Democrats have a problem. The Hakeem Jeffries, by the way, Hakeem is not a moderate compared to these guys. He may be. There's nothing moderate about Hakeem Jeffries. Hakeem Jeffries wouldn't last 10 minutes in Bill Clinton's Democratic Party. And, and Bill Clinton was too far left. So, you know, but, but these guys like Chucky Schumer, who actually want to win elections and, and don't want concentration camps, these guys are in a fight. And right now the DSA is winning that fight everywhere except Wisconsin. And because that was within 1%, she's entitled to a recount if she wants it. I saw she conceded, but you know, that doesn't mean anything. Al Gore conceded in 2000, so we'll see what happens. But but the bottom line is these guys are really the real deal. This is, this is 1933 in America. These guys actually want to transform America into a communist dictatorship. And they're telling you they do, which is just amazing. And that's what a lot of what's on the Democratic side of the ballot in November stands for. So, so yeah, the Democrats are in a fight, but more to the point, we're in a fight.
Speaker E: For sure.
Pastor Jeff Schrieve: We're talking to Rod Martin, technology entrepreneur, philosopher, capitalist and founder and CEO of Martin Capital and the Martin Report. Rod D. Martin. I encourage you to go online and sign, up for his report. It's very eye opening. He's got great takes on what is going on in the world and what is going on in America. You're listening to Real Truth for today. When you hear the music, you know that, we are up against a break. But we have more with Rod. I'm going to talk to him about, inflation, the SAVE act, Talk to him about, the new law in, Massachusetts abortion up till the point of birth. Lots of things on the table that we're going to discuss, so don't go away. We'll be right back.
Speaker F: This June marks three years since the overturn of Roe. But did you know that since then, the number of abortions has surged to a 10 year high? Preborn network clinics continue to support women facing unplanned pregnancies, showering them with God's love and providing free ultrasounds. When a mother meets her baby on ultrasound and hears their heartbeat, she's twice as likely to choose life.
Rod Martin: It was like the beginning of my healing journey. They do an ultrasound.
Speaker B: That's when everything changed.
Rod Martin: When I saw my baby and when
Speaker B: I heard her heartbeat, that was it.
Speaker F: $28 sponsors one ultrasound and $140 helps to rescue five babies. Your generous tax deductible donation also helps to provide women who choose life with assistance for up to two years. To donate, dial £250 and say the keyword baby. That's £250, baby. Or visit preborn.com afr.
Speaker B: This is real truth for today. Podcasts of the program are available on the podcast page at. Now back to Pastor Jeff Schrieve.
Pastor Jeff Schrieve: Welcome back to the program, Pastor Jeff. Here talking to my friend Rod Martin. And we're talking about what is going on in the world. Remember Romans 15:13. Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Listen, as a Christian, we don't have anything to fear. We need to know what's going on. We need to pray for what's going on. We need to pray for our leaders as the Bible commands us. But we need to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith. And know this, the Lord is coming soon. As it says in James 5, 8, the coming of the Lord is near. And so things are going to get, bad before the Lord comes back. But we know that, God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. But until the Lord comes back, we need to, as the scripture says, occupy. Until I come and do business. Until I come. And so Rod, I was, we were talking at the break of, that, that back. I think it was Back to the future too with, there was that famous movie where Micah, J. Fox comes back to when he goes back to the future. he doesn't realize. Biff knows. Hey, there's a time machine. And he, he gets in there and he gets a book of, of sports, scores, and then he bets, you know, because he has all the information. And he gets wealthy and Micah J. Fox comes back a present that he didn't know existed because it's. And he's in the dystopian world. When we think about, people voting and voting for terrible candidates that have terrible ideas. As Barack Obama said, elections have consequences, and they do. Everything rises and falls on leadership. If we vote in terrible leadership. Let's just look at the take out the crystal ball and look at NewSong York City. so Mamdani has, what is for mayor is that two year or four year?
Rod Martin: That's four.
Pastor Jeff Schrieve: Okay. So at the end of four years, he's allowed to do the things he wants to do. what's the state of NewSong York City after that?
Rod Martin: Well, they're in terrible shape. And it's already happening. It was already happening before they were dumb enough to elect him. He is plain as day that he means to seize the means of production. And this, you know, this new tax on second homes, he. Okay, you can do that. I understand the, covetous impulse to do that, but you're driving all the rich people out of NewSong York. And when you do that, you're shrinking your tax base, which means you have less money for your schools and your roads and your garbage collection and all the things that a city has to have to run. And then what happens? Well, now you have to raise taxes on everybody else. So are they going to get a free grocery store? Sure. is he going to slash the prices to such a low level that he drives all of the mom and pop grade grocery stores out of business? Absolutely. That's his aim. He doesn't want any entrepreneurs. He wants them to die, metaphorically, maybe not literally, like some of these communists, but he's in that direction too. So. So he wants to run them out of business. He wants to drive them under. Well, okay, if you can't make a living in NewSong York other than, on welfare, and that's what we're talking about, then you're gonna leave. And that's exactly what we're seeing. So in your state of Texas, a week ago, we had the new Texas Stock Exchange start full public trading for the very first time. Okay, well, that's just silly. Nobody can ever beat the NewSong York Stock Exchange and nasdaq.
Pastor Jeff Schrieve: Wrong.
Rod Martin: Not true. Because the people backing this are a wide range of America's most important Capital providers, including on the right, Citadel, and on the left, BlackRock. So even BlackRock, which has been the tip of the spear pushing ESG on Americans through corporate boardrooms like what the, what the SPLC was doing, Even a crazy leftist organization like BlackRock sees the need to actually be able to make a profit. And they believe that they need to be in a state like Texas to be able to do it. Now, are they leaving NewSong York tomorrow? No, but they might. We have seen an exodus of major financial firms and manufacturing concerns and other companies out of blue states since the, the beginning of the pandemic. There was already a trickle before that. It has become a flood. So South Florida is full of these firms, including Citadel. Mark M. Zuckerberg moved to Florida. Elon Musk moved Tesla and SpaceX to Texas. And oh wait, the big incumbent stock exchanges, the NASDAQ and the NewSong York Stock Exchange have both opened Texas branches this year. They are in a position, if they needed to, to pull the plug on NewSong York and go entirely to Dallas. Now that's extraordinary. Nothing like that has ever happened in American history. we are watching NewSong York turn itself into Detroit, which was also one of the world's greatest cities not that long ago and is now just a disaster area. This is what. And by the way, there's a reason for that. You want to, you want to look at Biff, you want to go back to the future? Here's back to the future for you. Detroit elected an avowed communist mayor. And Detroit went from one of the showplace cities of the entire planet Earth in one generation to what looks like a bombed out shell. it's just unbelievable. you don't want to drive through NewSong York, but maybe you can look, not NewSong York, Detroit. But you might look at pictures of just how, how much of a ruin it has become. Capital does not stay where it is abused and stolen. Capital, like people can vote with its feet and they're voting for Texas and Florida. So, so this puts, this puts NewSong York, if they can't pull out of this death spiral, this puts them in a trajectory where they just get poorer and poorer and poorer. Because the problem for the communists, the problem for the socialists doesn't matter what they call themselves. It's the same thing. You know that when the head of the democratic socialists stands up and tells you our goal is communism and the crowd cheers. Communist, socialist, all the same thing. These guys, when they take power, they act in envy, not in common sense. So they drive these people and their money out of their jurisdictions, as Gavin Newsom has done in California. And he's way to the right of Zoran Mandani. so, you know, you would expect better there, but no, not at all. The Democratic Party is intent on driving these businesses under and out. And as a result of that, they have a shrinking tax base, they have a shrinking ability to carry these things out, because unlike the Communist East Germans, they can't build a Berlin Wallnua around NewSong York to keep everybody in. They can't put guard towers with machine guns to shoot the fleeing billionaires or just middle class people who'd like to be able to make a living. If you can't do that, then you lose all those people and you can't exploit them anymore. That's why they're so intent on national power. If they controlled the nation as a whole, they wouldn't have that problem. And they could just fleece everybody. That's the goal. And they're very open about it.
Pastor Jeff Schrieve: All right, Rob, let's talk about, inflation. It's a big issue. It'll be a big issue come election, time in November. We keep hearing $20 burritos. I've never seen a $20 burrito, but I wouldn't buy it. It's too expensive. but I know that housing is a big issue. And younger people say, I can't afford a house. I was talking to a couple, that I' to do their wedding, later this year. And they said in Dallas, where they live, to get a house is $500 a square foot, just insane. Now, that's probably really close to downtown Dallas, but I, mean, who can afford that? And so give, me your take on what is Trump doing to try and combat all this inflation.
Rod Martin: Well, first and foremost, since the middle of last year, so very early in Trump's comeback, wage growth is outpacing inflation consistently month after month. So if you have enough wage growth, the inflation side doesn't matter as much. But it matters especially for poor people who may not have the financial resources that some others do. And by some others, I don't mean Elon Musk. I mean middle class people with a 401k. And so in that situation, you've actually got to slay inflation. Now, this is exactly what we see happening right now. This is exactly what we saw in 1982 and 1983. You and I are old enough to remember Ronald Reagan and Paul Volcker, who was chairman of the Federal Reserve at the time. And we're Coming off that amazingly awful period in the 1970s where you have two oil shocks that raised the price of oil about six fold over a handful of years, fourfold in a couple months in 1973 and you know, just blows a hole in Everybody. You've got 14% interest rates and 11% unemployment and at one point, 26% mortgages. Are you kidding? You know, I mean, nobody can live in that. And certainly my own dad, you know, he was, he was a college educated Air Force veteran who started as a, junior executive doing great. Jimmy Carter forced him to work on gas rigs, manual labor just to make ends meet. It was really bad. So how do you fix that? Well, the first and foremost problem is the inflation itself. And we have to understand variation in prices is a symptom of inflation, but it isn't actually inflation. Inflation is everywhere and always a monetary phenomenon. What do I mean by that? Inflation is when you make the money worth less to the point that ultimately it's just worthless and that, that, that's what inflation is. The price isn't going up because the stuff is worth more. The price is going up because the dollars you buy it with are worth less. And that's what Joe Biden did for four years. They absolutely turned on the printing press at the Federal Reserve and flooded the economy with, with effectively counterfeit money. I don't know what else you'd call, call it. And so that just debases the currency to a point where, where everything seems ghastly expensive and is because the dollar is now ridiculously cheap compared to what you earned. So first things first. Kevan Warsh, new Fed chairman, he's, he's going to slay inflation. That's going to happen. That's a big deal. We're going to quit printing money. We're going to actually get serious about running a real economy. Second, you've got to increase growth. Growth cures everything. If you are choking on your $2,000 a month rent when you're making 30,000 a year, I don't know how you qualified for a rent check at that level of income in place. The first, first place. But if suddenly you have 100,000 a year, the 2,000 doesn't matter so much anymore. So, so you've got to grow the economy. This is the other half of what Reagan did. And it set off an almost uninterrupted 40 year economic boom. What we'd call a super cycle, which I think we're entering right now. Donald Trump has recruited $18 trillion in outside investment coming into this country to build factories that have high wage jobs for the vast majority of Americans who don't have a college degree. And also high end technology firms like what we're seeing with, with semiconductor manufacturing coming back to the United States for the first time in a very long time that gives you jobs for the PhDs and you know, all the people who went on to more school and ran up the student debt and as their incomes expand, all of these things become vastly more affordable. Now that's not something that happens in a day or a week, but it's happening now. That capital expenditure boom is already underway. The factories are getting built, the jobs are being created. The economy just hasn't caught up with that yet because, you know, as probably everybody on who watches your show knows, if you decide you want to build a house, you don't just snap your fingers and there's a house. You know, it takes a minute for the builder to build the house and that's what's happening right now. But I believe we are on track not just for the current Capex boom, which is the prerequisite, not just for the slaying of inflation, which, which Kevan War she's going to do. And that will be painful at points, but it will work. We've done it before. Once that's all in place, Reagan had a year of 7% GDP growth. Absolutely amazing. And I, think we're on track for very consistent 4, maybe even 5% growth if we stick on the course the President has set. And if you do that, you don't just eliminate the budget deficit, you don't just slay inflation. You start actually paying off the national debt, the $40 trillion national debt. But you can't do it by taxing poor people. You have to do it by growing the economy, giving them more opportunity and letting them actually have enough money to be able to afford the taxes that pay off the debt.
Pastor Jeff Schrieve: Well, you're listening to Real Truth for today. Pastor Jeff Schrieve here talking to my friend Rod Martin. And we're talking about the, current events, the things that are pressing in the news today. When we come back from the break, we'll be taking your calls. 888-589-8840. That's 888-589-8840. If you have a question or comment. Love to hear from you, Rod. We have about 30 seconds but, is the save act completely dead?
Rod Martin: No, I don't think so. One way or another. first of all, I think there's a decent chance we actually can pass it. maybe not in time. I, think we can pass it next term if we do well in the midterms, which I think we might. And I think the president might declare a national emergency and federalize the election.
Pastor Jeff Schrieve: Yeah, that would be good. Well, we'll be right back. Real Truth for today on American Family Radio.
Speaker B: If you'd like to contact Pastor Jeff, email pastor jeffromhisheart.org now back to Real Truth for today with Pastor Jeff Schrieve.
Pastor Jeff Schrieve: Welcome back to the program. I did want to mention my wife. I haven't gotten to hear this, but my wife said that, Tim Wildmon has a, little commercial out where he's going to be here next Wednesday, a week from today at First Baptist. Text arcana. And he's going to be sharing about salt and light and how, there's the intersection between, politics and religion and how Christians need to get involved in making a difference in the culture and not the culture making a difference in the church. And so that's, ah, six o' clock next week, next Wednesday at First Baptist, Texarkana, August 19th. And I think, Debbie said that Tim, in his typical humorous fashion, said that I owe him money. And so he's got to come to Texarkana to collect. So we'll see how that goes. But I'm looking forward to Tim being here. Okay, Rod, the wnba, they're trying so hard to destroy their league. now, you know, two NBA players have said, hey, I feel like a woman. they're singing that Shania Twain song and they want to put, themselves in the draft in 2027. And it's now they're having special, special meetings to decide what, what is the W for in the wnba. But the, the hypocrisy is just off the chain. And I wanted to play you this clip. we are going to go to the phone lines, 888-589-8840. So call. So, we'll go to the phone lines in just a minute. But I want to play you this clip from Stephanie White. She's the coach of the Indiana Fever. And, two players on her team, Caitlin Clark, the number one player in the wnba, is how the reason the WNBA got on the map, as far as popularity. And then Sophie Cunningham, who's also, very popular right now. Well, Sophie Cunningham gets clotheslined and, in a blatant flagrant foul. And, it was like, hey, you're not going after the ball. You're going after my head. Well, the coach was quick. Sophie Cunningham's coach, Stephanie White, was quick to defend the Fowler and not to defend her own player. So she had to come back out and, you know, give a speech as to, how people are trying to destroy the WNBA and destroy the love fest they have going on with the fever. I want to play this just this end of this clip and get you to comment because I think it is so representative of what we see on the left. They talk a big game and then their actions are the opposite. This is what she had to say.
Speaker G: We are united. We are connected. We will not be divided. Every day these women put their on the line every day. When they go low, we go high. Love will win, grace will win, humility will win, and kindness will win. I stand by them. I will always stand by them. Everybody else can go to hell.
Pastor Jeff Schrieve: So love will win, grace will win, kindness will win, and everybody else can go to hell. it doesn't seem quite gracious and kind to end your speech that way.
Rod Martin: indeed not. You know, Jeff, this is exactly what we were fighting a few years ago in the Southern Baptist Convention. This is what we were talking about when we said that critical theory is antithetical to the gospel because it defines. And it doesn't matter what form of critical theory. Critical theory is the umbrella for a whole bunch of sub critical theories like critical race theory, like queer theory, like radical feminism, like critical America theory. All kinds of different critical theories that are all part of critical theory, which is just Marxism. All it's doing is changing the labels from classical Marxism where you have the bourgeoisie and the proletariat. You call that something that Americans can actually pronounce. You call it the oppressor and the oppressed. And you define it in terms that don't have as much to do with economics. But then you elect a Zoran Mandani and he immediately links it back to economics because it's always a power and wealth grab. So that's what you're seeing play out here. Sophie Cunningham and Caitlin Clark are defined as oppressors. You can't foul an oppressor. And you and I have heard many, many so called civil rights leaders tell us that a black person is incapable of racism, Right? You're like, that's silly. How does that make any sense? Everybody's capable of racism. Not the way they define it. The way they define it is not in terms of race. Race is just how they sucker people in. They define it in terms of oppressor. And oppressed. These white women are, are lower on the intersectional pyramid than these black women fouling them. Therefore, the white women are wrong no matter what the video says. Okay? They think they can get away with that. And maybe they can. Maybe it's true that the NBA won't let them die because it would be a PR disaster. All of that is possible. But we saw what happened to the two greatest movie franchises of all time when a for profit business took that exact attitude. Star wars and Marvel. Marvel hasn't made a decent movie since Avengers Endgame, with the sole exception of the two Spider man movies. And the only reason those were good is because Sony owns the rights to Spider man and said no woke stuff. tell a good story or you can't use our character Star wars whole nother thing. They have managed to overcome that stuff somewhat in their TV shows on Disney plus. But the movies were dreck. They were horrible. Not because I disagree with their politics. That's not the point. Because they tell terrible stories. Because they're really, really bad. And the reason they're bad is because they're preachy. They're beating you over the head with an ideological viewpoint that most people don't agree with, don't share. And that's what the NBA is doing right now. That's what Bud Light did. That's what, what Cracker Barrel almost did. And, and we had a phrase for a while. Get woke, go broke. That. That's what we're seeing. If they don't stick up for, for Sophie and Caitlin, they're just stupid. I mean, honestly, I understand the ideological, aspect of it, but the truth is those are the only two players that most Americans can name two. And, and, and you're gonna, you're gonna make their lives hard. That's just stupid.
Pastor Jeff Schrieve: Yeah, I totally agree. Well, we're going to the phone lines. 888-589-8840. And we have Jon on the line from Arkansas. Jon, welcome to the program.
Speaker E: Good morning, Pastor Jeff. How are you doing?
Pastor Jeff Schrieve: Hey, good. Is this Jon Boden?
Speaker E: It is Jon and Lisa here.
Pastor Jeff Schrieve: Hey, good to talk to you guys.
Speaker E: As you know, we love your show. I love when Rod's on. his depth of knowledge is awesome. And, I want to say two things about the wnba, because that came up after I'd called in. But one, I'm thankful for Caitlin Clark putting my alma mater, the University of Iowa, back on the map. But the other thing is, I saw a meme the other day. It said, can you imagine how Mad it makes the WNBA that two straight white women are their core players. Right, right. They're the face of that league.
Pastor Jeff Schrieve: Exactly.
Speaker E: what Rod just said is actually back to my question about. It's just stupid. You know, when I look at our education system and you look at Randy Weingarten and the government took that over and nothing the government usually touches works out well. And part of the problem, I think, with this communist takeover is kids don't know history. They're not being taught it. They don't understand. And when I look at this generation, it's a lot easier to say so TikTok, you know, 30 second clip, 15 second clip. It's way easier to say vote for me free stuff versus explain the dynamics of economics that Rod went into with regards to they printed trillions of dollars. Now they wonder why everything's more expensive. So us, us trying to be conservatives and reeducate people that just don't know how it works is almost. It's a, It's a really hard uphill battle.
Pastor Jeff Schrieve: Yeah, it's really true. You know, Rod, I was thinking about that and that's. That's a good comment, Jon. okay, so Zoram Mamdani, he's not an idiot, right?
Rod Martin: No, not at all.
Pastor Jeff Schrieve: Okay, so he can study the history. I mean, we're not making this stuff up. I mean, it's documented history. Socialism never works. It always produces misery and death. I guess you're just so a
Rod Martin: feature, not a bug. Yes.
Speaker E: huh?
Rod Martin: Yeah, that's a feature, not a bug.
Speaker F: Right?
Rod Martin: That's intentional.
Pastor Jeff Schrieve: So they just. That, I mean, is that the end game? They want misery and death as long as they're in power?
Rod Martin: Well, the rank and file, the people that Lenin called the useful fools won't see it that way. But, this is the reason that we don't teach history. This is the reason that nobody thinks anymore. We replaced critical thinking in our schools with critical theory. So, what we ended up with was a generation and a half, possibly two generations of students. And honestly, this includes a lot of supposedly conservative students who honestly don't have the, the essential tools of learning and logic. So they are just filled with emotion. The entire culture tells them to emot about everything. And if you see a problem and you don't have the logical tools to think through, okay, how can I actually make this better? Then you're consumed with rage and envy. And what happens is exactly what the revolutionaries want. All these angry people can be herded because they're not thinking. And that's how every communist revolution in the world has worked. This is a tried and true playbook, and we're seeing it play out here. Now, I want to come back to one thing that you started the show with that was so wonderful, and I'm so glad you did. You're talking about, you know, the oppression of the Midianites in Israel and how people were just groaning under this oppression and, you know, giving up hope. God has abandoned us. No, God hasn't abandoned you, but you guys worshiped the Baals, you guys went to the temple prostitutes, you guys defiled the sacrifices. You guys defiled yourselves. And there are consequences to that. And it's hard. But wait, There is a tomorrow. And sure enough, when Gideon was done, we never hear of the Midianites again. In the entire rest of scripture. They wiped those guys out as an ongoing threat. I'm sure they didn't kill them all, but they ended them, as a meaningful strategic threat to Israel. Now, that's a full and final movie class ending that God gave them. But it happened because there were faithful people who kept telling the truth throughout that 20 years of oppression and just wouldn't relent and just kept reteaching the story. That's what we have to do now. Yes, we can win because our God is bigger than theirs. And. And I have tremendous optimism for the future, but I have no illusions that in the short term, we're in a real fight.
Pastor Jeff Schrieve: Yeah, for sure. Very good, Jon. Anything else you want to add?
Speaker E: No. We love you. We love your show. We appreciate you sharing the truth every week, and we pray for you and Debbie and your ministry. So thank you for doing. You do.
Pastor Jeff Schrieve: Thank you, Jon. I appreciate you and Lisa so much. So I did Jon and Lisa's wedding way back when, when, I could say when I had hair, but I haven't had hair in forever and, ah, so I never have to wear a hat like you, Rod, because I don't have bad hair days.
Rod Martin: There you go.
Pastor Jeff Schrieve: Okay, let's, let's hit on this real quick. We just have a few minutes left. But the left is, is complaining that Trump has gotten so rich in this term. You know, he lost money in his first term, his net worth went down quite a bit. He doesn't take any money for being president, but they said his empire has grown substantially, during his presidency, his second term. How do you respond to that allegation?
Rod Martin: Well, you know, what they want him to do is just get rid of all of his money so that they can get in power and, you know, prosecuting him in a bunch more trumped up prosecutions. And he doesn't have the resources to fight back. And it's just silly. Donald Trump is not the CEO of the Trump Organization. Hasn't been for many, many years now. Basically a decade now. The kids are running it. They're good at their jobs. He trained them up well. We may not, want to look to Donald Trump for spiritual lessons, but we could all learn a lot from his parenting. You know, those kids are pretty amazing. So, you know, we pray for them, hope they all get saved, but. But they are amazing people and they are doing a fantastic job of building the company they've inherited, which technically he still owns a lot of, but he doesn't run. So. So I would just say, you know, this is more of a the, of the class envy stuff that we're used to hearing. They, they hate anybody who's rich unless the rich person is funding them. And then all of a sudden, Neville, Royce Singham, George Soros, all those guys are great and they just never, ever talk about them. Neville, as you know, married the, the founder of Code Pink, for heaven's sake. You know, he's fine even though he's a billionaire. But any billionaire on our side is the devil and must be destroyed and bankrupted.
Pastor Jeff Schrieve: Yes, that's for sure. Well, Rod has been an enjoyable hour. Thanks for coming on again today. So people can go to roddmartin.com is that right?
Rod Martin: Rodmartin.org you are so close. rodmartin.org we do daily geopolitical analysis. Five box business calls. Absolutely phenomenal.
Pastor Jeff Schrieve: Okay, the D is in there somewhere, though.
Rod Martin: That's on my Twitter handle, Rod D. Martin on X.
Pastor Jeff Schrieve: That's where I got it confused. All right, thanks, my friend. Hey, go out today. As Rod said, we don't need to be, worried. We just need to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. The Lord is in control. So shine for Christ. Share what great things the Lord has done for you, and God will use you as his witness. God bless you.
