Exploring Psalm 121: A Deep Dive into Its Meaning and Its Relevance for Modern Believers
Jeff Chamblee Welcome to Real Truth for Today with Pastor Jeff Schrieve, Senior pastor of First Baptist Church in Texarkana, Texas. Now, here's Pastor Jeff.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Well, good morning and welcome to Real Truth for today. Pastor Jeff Schrieve. Here it is Thursday morning. Hope you're having a great, a good day so far. I wanted to read to you a great passage of Scripture, Psalm 121. I still remember my, first fall, semester in seminary at Southeastern Seminary in the fall of 1996. I took a class called Sermon the Preparation of Sermons with Dr. Wayne MacDill. And I had to do a sermon on Psalm 121. So I was really digging into Psalm 121, only eight verses. A great psalm. it's a song of ascents, which it means, it's one of those psalms that they would sing when they would go up to Jerusalem, three times a year for, those feasts that they were required to be there. The Feast of Booths, feast of Passover, Feast of Pentecost. They had to come for those times. And they would sing these different psalms. I think it begins at Psalm 113. It's called a Song of Ascents. Well, this is, song of Ascent. I will lift up my eyes to the mountains from where shall my help come. My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to slip. He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper. The Lord is your shade on your right hand. The sun will not smite you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will protect you from all Evil. He will keep your soul. He will guard your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forever. What a great word. What a great psalm. A psalm of great encouragement and comfort. Because we lift up our eyes to the Lord, not to the mountains. You know, the pagans would put their gods up on the high places. And. And, you know, the higher you get, the closer you are to heaven. That kind of idea. But, the psalmist is saying, hey, I'm not trusting, the God of the mountains, the God on the mountains. We should say, I'm trusting the God of the mountains, the God who made the mountains. My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth. And so, you know, when we pray about things, we need to remember that, we're praying to the God who created it all, the God who is over it all, the God who is king. The Lord sat as king at the flood. Yes, the Lord sits as king forever. We, know from the Book of Proverbs that the king's heart is like channels of water in the hand of the Lord.
Accessing God's Throne Room: The Assurance of Rest and Grace Through Jesus Christ
He turns it wherever he wishes. God is in charge. He is large and in charge. And, if we know the Lord through Jesus Christ, we've put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ. We have access to the throne room of God. He invites us. He said, jesus said, come to me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I'm gentle and humble in heart, and you shall find rest for your soul. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. We don't have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses. The Bible says in Hebrews 4:15. But one who has been tempted in all things as we are yet without sin. The Lord knows what it's like to be tempted. He was tempted to do the sins that you're tempted to do. but he never failed. He never succumbed to that. And then the Bible says, therefore, since we have a high priest who can sympathize with us, who knows what it's like to be us, because, our high priest is the God man. Therefore, let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Now, I hope you're praying as the Bible tells us to, pray for the welfare of the city. Jeremiah 29:7 is the verse that keeps, coming up in my heart, as what is a Christian supposed to do in this time?
Seeking the Welfare of the City: Christian Responsibilities During Midterm Elections and Political Engagement
Of midterm elections. We are to seek the welfare of the city, our city of exile, where we are, we're citizens of heaven, but we live here on this earth. It's not our home. The world, as the song says. The world is not my home. I'm just a, a passing through. My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue. The angels beckon me from heaven's open door. And I can't be at home in this world anymore. So this is not our home, but we're living here. We're exiles here, so to speak. Strangers, aliens, exiles, as the Bible says in the book of, First Peter. And so what am I to do as an exile here in America, in the world? Well, I'm to seek the welfare of the city. And, I am to pray for the welfare of the city. The shalom, the peace, the happiness, the contentment of the city. And I am to obviously vote because voting makes, a difference. Political issues affect the welfare of the city. When Zoram Mamdani got elected mayor of NewSong York City, don't you know that just his election, brought in an avalanche of, of issues that affect the welfare of the city. That guy is a Muslim and he's a socialist, and he is going to make decisions and is making decisions that are going to bring, lasting devastation to NewSong York City.
Analyzing Ideologies Antithetical to Scripture and the American Way of Life
You don't have to be an Einstein to figure that out. You just know where the guy's coming from and just say, okay, well, that's an, ideology that is, antithetical to the scripture. It's antithetical to, the American dream and the American way of life. It's antithetical to capitalism, it's antithetical to, basic fairness in the marketplace. He wants to open government run grocery stores that are going to be 30% less than everybody else. Well, that's not a fair playing field for the guys that are in business trying to sell groceries. And so he'll run those guys out of town, if that goes through. So we are to pray. And when we pray for the welfare of the city, when we intercede, we know that, our God hears us. And our God, is the God who answers prayer.
Understanding End Times Prophecy: The Rapture, Tribulation, and the Antichrist's Rise to Power
Now, sometimes his answer can be no. And as was brought up on the program, I mentioned it, I think yesterday, sometime this week, that, you know, eventually we're going to hit the generation that is going to, see the rapture, is going to see, the Antichrist, is going to see the tribulation period, it's going to be a horrible time. Jesus said in Matthew 24, if those days had not been cut short, everybody would die. That's how bad. I mean, our minds can't fathom how bad it's going to be. But we don't know when the Rapture is coming. We know that God hasn't destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation to our Lord Jesus Christ. first Thessalonians 5. And so we're not looking for the Antichrist. We're looking for the Lord Jesus Christ, who's going to come in the clouds in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, and we're going to be caught up to be with him. 1 Thessalonians chapter 4. Now, not everybody believes, the timing of the Rapture. I believe it is pre tribulation that the Lord comes and takes us out of here before the tribulation period begins, before the revealing of the Antichrist, before the signing of the peace covenant. Daniel chapter nine. other people believe it happens in the middle of the tribulation period, before the great, tribulation, or at the point that midpoint that the Bible calls the Great Tribulation. first three and a half years are bad, but the Antichrist is kind of holding, his own, letting the Jews, worship and have their temple sacrifices. Then at the midpoint called the abomination of desolation, he sets himself up, this abominable one, sets himself up in the temple of God, declares himself as being God, shuts down the worship of the true God and says, you only worship me. And that's when you get marked on your right hand or on your forehead. And the 666, the mark of the beast. Without it, you can't buy or sell. And life becomes, really unbearable for anybody who doesn't bow the knee to the Antichrist. Well, some people say, well, Jesus comes back. Then others say, well, he comes back, at the battle of Armageddon, and we go up to see him, to greet him, and then we come down with him. The problem with, those two positions, especially the last one, the problem with the last one is that, there's no Jon 14. let not your hearts be troubled.
Preparing for the Future: The Antichrist's Global Economic Control and the Need for Vigilance
Believe in God. Believe also in me. In my Father's house are many dwelling places. If it were not so, I would have told you. For I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself. So that where I am in heaven, there you may be also, well, when do we go to the Father's house if the Rapture doesn't take place until his actual return? And the battle of Armageddon and the setting up of the kingdom, the 1000 year reign of Jesus Christ, there's not time for that. So all that said, we could be the generation that is facing those things which would require a, worldwide economic chaos. I've said this for years. How does the Antichrist gain power of the whole world? Well, the whole world is going to be, catapulted into economic disaster and people are going to be clamoring. Is there someone that can lift us out of this economic morass to, alleviate all the pain and suffering? And if we find this guy, we're going to back him and the Antichrist is going to come up out of that, turmoil and have all the answers and seem to be the guy who, and people will look at him and say, that is our Savior and they will give their allegiance to him and usher him in and he will be the one world leader. So we don't know are we right, at the precipice of that.
The Critical Role of Voting in Protecting Freedoms and Advancing the Gospel's Reach
Well, in that case, then with these elections, I mean, America, would be weakened and the Lord would say, hey, I recognize, you have candidates that are going to take the country further and further left and turn the country, into a socialistic country. That's going to hurt things. That's going to hurt, the freedom to share the gospel. As we like to say. Quoting Bill Federer, the most important thing for a Christian to do is to witness for Jesus and to preach the gospel to every creature.
Evaluating Political Candidates: A Theological Examination of Adam Hamilton and James Talarico
The second most important thing for us to do is to ensure the fruit freedom to do the most important thing. So voting and being involved politically to secure our freedoms, that is critical and that can go away. But we don't, since we don't know, what do we do? We seek for the welfare of the city, we pray for the welfare of the city. We get involved, we engage, and we trust the Lord on his timing of things. So all that said to say this, we have two candidates for the Senate. One is in Texas. We've talked about him a lot, James Tallarico. And the other is in Kansas. I haven't talked about this guy. Adam Hamilton. Adam Hamilton. James Talarico, presents himself as a Christian. I've called him a fake Christian because true Christianity knows who Jesus is, the God man. He knows what Jesus did, died on the cross and rose again from the dead. And he Understands that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but through him. A true Christian doesn't believe there, there are many paths to God, as James Talarico believes. he's not loosey goosey. Talarico wears Christianity like a skin suit. And, he is very, very dangerous. But then you have another guy that's very, very dangerous that is promoting his Christianity. And that is Adam Hamilton, the founding pastor of the Church of the Resurrection, a United Methodist megachurch, near Kansas City. And he is running for the Senate, going against Senator Roger Marshall. And so this guy, he is, he would be more orthodox than Talarico. his church would be more orthodox than Talarico. I mean, his church is a mega church. Thousands and thousands and thousands. I think he was saying we have 24,000 across nine campuses. they don't have a doctrinal page on their church. But this guy, Adam Hamilton has said, well, he doesn't believe the Bible is inerrant and he questions the virgin birth. He says it's not necessary for salvation. They're gay affirming. They have gay people on their staff. I think since 2008. They, affirmed homosexual marriage and homosexuality, and they're trans affirming. definitely not a place that, any, any Christian should go, in my opinion. that's like drinking out of a poisoned well. You can't do that. You can't listen to that stuff for very long before the devil works that into your mind and heart.
A Short Break for Real Truth for Today with Pastor Jeff Shreve on American Family Radio
So it's very, very important. Just like you wouldn't put poison in your mouth, don't put poison in your mind. Don't put, put poison in your spirit. When we come back from the break, we'll talk more about Adam Hamilton and what he believes and why it's so dangerous. You're listening to Real Truth for today. Pastor Jeff Schrieve here on American Family Radio. We'll be right back.
Supporting Preborn Ministry: The Impact of Ultrasound Machines in Saving Unborn Lives
Jeff Chamblee Candace talks about finding out she was pregnant. Thankfully, an ultrasound provided by preborn allowed her to hear her baby's heartbeat.
Jeff Chamblee The sonogram sealed the deal for me. My baby was like this tiny little spectrum of hope. Pastor Jeff Shreve's Ministry Engagements and the Importance of Human Connection and Embrace
This is Real Truth for today Podcast of the are available on the podcast [email protected] now back to Pastor Jeff Schrieve.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Welcome back to the program. Pastor Jeff here. I wanted to let you know if you live in the Belton, Texas Waco area, temple area. I'm going to be in Belton tonight, at the fundraiser for jail ministry, the jail ministry banquet. jlmen.org Steve Cannon is the executive director of this wonderful ministry. It's a Christ center jail ministry providing programs in prevention and intervention for the incarcerated in the Bell County Law Enforcement center and the Juvenile Services Center. And the ministry serves Belton Temple, Killeen and the surrounding Central Texas area. And the ministry began in 1987 and it continues this day. And they minister to inmates and their families. so I'm looking forward to being there with them tonight for their fundraiser. And so you can find out more jlmin.org and it's going to be a great dinner and just a great night and I'd love to meet you. It's always fun for me to go out and to meet different ones. I like meeting people. I used to always say, when I would film the opens for our television ministry at first, Baptist Texarkana, we're on out of NBC, out of Shreveport. And I would say, you know, I'd love to, if you've been watching and you live in the area, come come see us in person because I'd love to shake your hand and hug your neck and let you know how much I appreciate you for joining with us, via the airwaves. And so if that's if that's you, I would love to do that too. I'm one of those that takes the scripture to heart that says greet one another with a holy kiss. And I think there's just something about an embrace that can really encourage somebody else. You never know when somebody's really, really down and when you give that person, a look, a touch and a word, it can really make a difference.
Critique of Adam Hamilton's Theology and His Senate Candidacy: A Theological Examination
So that's tonight at 6 o' clock there in Belton. Well, let's get back into this situation with Adam Hamilton. Okay? The founding pastor of Church of the Resurrection, a United Methodist megachurch One of the biggest United Methodist churches in the country. It's near Kansas City. Says it has 24,000 members across nine locations. And this guy is running for the Senate as a Democrat. It's kind of odd that you would think, okay, a pastor, you run as a Democrat. As Jon MacArthur said some years ago, you know, the Democrat Party, basically, they write their platform based off the sins of Romans, chapter one, verses 18 and following. They were the ones that booed when they, tried to put God back in the platform some years ago in this dimension of God. They didn't want that. they're the ones that Kamala Harris said at her rally when she was running for president against President, Donald Trump. She said when somebody said at her rally, Jesus is Lord, she said, well, you definitely are obviously at the wrong rally. There's a smaller rally down the street. And, you know, very telling. People say, oh, she's just joking. I don't think so. Jesus definitely isn't Lord of the sins of Romans 1. That's not where he's going to, be. that's going to be, as I told one guy on, X just yesterday, he said, do you realize that Jesus loves everyone you hate? So I was like, well, I don't hate anybody. So I hate the sin. I don't hate the sinner. But I responded back to him and I said, well, do you realize that Jesus hates every lie you love? And he, said, well, you're judging me. It's like, well, do you think Jesus loves the lies you believe? Jesus hates the lies you believe, and you're espousing that. And so here's this guy, Adam Hamilton, running as a Democrat, running under the banner of pro abortion, pro lgbtq, AI plus rights, has gay marriage in his church, has, according to the research I did, there are gay people on his staff. he said that doesn't, believe the Bible is inerrant. And he doesn't believe that you, have to believe in the virgin birth to be a Christian. It's not necessary for salvation. He said, now, I've heard that before. That's a liberal talking point in theological circles. Well, you know that you read about the, what is the gospel? First Corinthians, chapter 15 tells us about the Gospel. Nothing in there says, well, you have to believe in the virgin birth. And so, you know, these guys that, want to appeal to folks that don't believe the Bible and have trouble with some of these, the miracles in the Bible, and they Say, well, the virgin birth. I mean, that doesn't happen. That would be just so preposterous, so outlandish. They say, well, wait a minute. You don't have to believe in the virgin birth to be a Christian. There's nothing that says you have to believe that. Well, here's the problem with that thinking. Jesus was born of a virgin. The Bible makes that clear.
Theological Significance of the Virgin Birth: Understanding Jesus's Sinless Nature and Redemption
as we get ready to celebrate Christmas, we talk about the virgin shall be with child and give birth to a son. And you shall call his name Immanuel, which means God with us. The virgin Jesus had to be born of a virgin so that he wasn't born in sin. David said in Psalm 51 that, he was, brought forth in iniquity. And in sin did his mother conceive him. David was a sinner from the womb. we are in Adam. And the Bible says, in Adam, all die. In Christ are all made alive. All of us have,
Tracing Sin and Redemption Through Adam and Jesus: The Necessity of the Virgin Birth
As you go back through our lineage, we have our. Our human father was Adam. Because everybody is related to Adam. Because Adam was the father of the human race. Eve is called Eve because she's the mother of all living. And obviously, the sin. And the sin nature comes through the man. Jesus was born the seed of a woman. And he was born, by the power of God, the power of the Most High shall overshadow you. And for that reason, the offspring is going to be holy. And so Jesus had to be that. Otherwise, if he was just born of natural means, guess what? He would have a sin nature like you have, like I have. He would be a sinner. And no man can by any means redeem his brother or give to God a ransom for him. For the redemption of his soul is costly. He can't be the Savior if he's a sinner. He can't die for you. He can't die for me. So Jesus had to be born of a virgin to fulfill Genesis 3:15.
Theological Implications of the Virgin Birth: Adam Hamilton's Views and the Foundation of Salvation
The seed of the woman. The woman doesn't have a seed. She has an egg. So the seed of the woman is a reference to the virgin birth. And the fact that Jesus is the perfect lamb m of God without spot, without blame. Well, that had to come from the virgin birth. Well, Adam Hamilton and those like him say, well, yeah, but he never chose to sin, so it didn't matter. Jesus didn't have a sin nature. He's different from you. He's different from me. He is human. And some say, well, can you be human and not have a sin nature? Well, Adam was human. Eve was human. They were living in the Garden of Eden before they fell. They had a human nature. They were human beings. They weren't something else. So Jesus, even though he didn't have a sin nature, he's still 100% human and he's 100% God. He's the God, man. As much man as though he were not God at all. As much God as though he were not man at all. So this guy Adam Hamilton, says that it doesn't really matter, you don't have to believe that, but that whole thing falls apart. Your salvation is dependent upon who Jesus is in order to be the sacrifice for your sins, and my sins and our sins. And God, made him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in him.
Pastoral Concerns Regarding Adam Hamilton: A Call for Repentance and Vigilant Voting
So this Adam Hamilton, he, has a big following. Big, big church. And he got a letter. This was interesting. 700 pastors, conservative pastors, organized by a man named Kyle Lamott, lead pastor of Exodus Church in Wichita, have urged Hamilton to repent of his teachings on salvation, biblical authority, sexuality and abortion and to withdraw from the race. 700, that's a lot. You know, I said this, just yesterday, I said, you know, if you're not sure, on Democrat and Republican, if you're one of these wishy washy folks that are like, well, yeah, but this person's got, they did some bad things. How can I vote for this person that did some bad things? Well, you want to look at the party platform. You don't want, as Josh Hamilton said, Josh Howerton, I'm sorry, he said, you know, you're casting a vote, you're not choosing your valentine. this is not like, oh, this, I like this person. They just seem so nice and I, like their smile and, you know, they just remind me of Richie Cunningham. That doesn't have any bearing on anything. And so you look to see what is this person going to do? Are they going to advance the ball, down the field for the welfare, the shalom, the peace and the contentment of the city, of the masses, or are they going to, move the ball in a direction that's going to hurt people, that it's going to bring destruction?
Examining Western Civilization's Decline: Political Decisions, Immigration, and DEI's Impact
You think about France, the decisions that, France has made regarding immigration and things like that. Has that been for the flourishing of the city or for the detriment and to the detriment of the city? Obviously to the detriment of the city. And, we talked about what Victor Davis Hansen said about the four horsemen of the apocalypse of western civilization. And they all relate to decisions, it's all self inflicted wounds, decisions that political leaders have made in France, going all green and increasing energy costs and open borders and fertility rates down among French people and you know, these things that they need to correct. Embracing dei, which is so biased, you know, judging people on the color of their skin and not the content of their character. The opposite of Martin Luther King's dream. It's really the nightmare when you do that, you divorce character from content or from color of skin. And you're just going to, you know, as the Bible says, if you sow the wind, you reap the whirlwind. And so having 700 pastors who love the Lord, read the word, lead God's people, God's, God's guys, like in the Old Testament, the school of the pastors, you get those guys, 700 of them is a lot.
The Role of Pastors in Addressing False Teachings and Maintaining Unity in Essential Doctrines
Somebody said, well it's just it's a rounding error. If you have 24,000 members of your church. Well it's not a rounding error. That's a lot. And those guys carry weight and they speak on behalf of congregations. If they come and say you need to repent, you are off base. whether you're a false teacher. There is a line between being a false teacher, false teacher is an unbeliever, and teaching false doctrine. So what's the difference? Well, Jon MacArthur said this. I know I'm not right in everything I teach. I just don't know where I'm wrong. And so every pastor has probably taught some passages of scripture that are the interpretation is not correct. So not everybody can be right. On eschatology you have different schools.
The Unwavering Clarity of Scripture on Salvation, Morality, and Sexuality: A Call to Action
But good and godly people can disagree on how to interpret those things. So in essentials, unity, in non essentials, liberty, in all things, charity. But in the essentials, we have to have unity. The Bible is not unclear about salvation. The Bible is not unclear about morality. The Bible is not unclear about sexuality. And so they're saying, listen, the Bible is not unclear about abortion. That's a, that's murder. You shall not murder. Commandment number six, biblical authority. The Bible is not unclear about that. All scripture is inspired by God, literally, God breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be adequate, thoroughly equipped for every good work. So I would encourage all those listening that are going to have a, vote in that election in Kansas. I would encourage, you to really check out what Adam Hamilton believes if you go to church there. man, I could not go to a place like that.
The Importance of Preaching the Word and Repentance in Churches: Lessons from Revelation
That is just wrong. when a place departs from the scripture, you can write ichabod, the glory of the Lord has departed. You can write Ichabod over the door. Now you may go there and say, oh, it makes me feel so good. they affirm me, and they're so loving, and they're so wonderful. Well, what's the command, from scripture to the pastors? Preach the word, be ready in season and out of season. Reprove, rebuke, exhort with great patience and instruction. Two of the three things are not pleasant. Reproof and rebuke. people don't like to be reproved. Just tell me how great I am. Tell me how much God loves me. But we come to church, we're going to hear from God. And, five of the seven churches in the book of the revelation, chapters two and three, we're told to repent.
The Necessity of Self-Examination and Confession for Spiritual Purity and Godly Living
I have this against you, and you have to deal with that. As David prayed in Psalm 139, Search me, O God, and know my heart. Try me and know my anxious thoughts, and see if there be any evil, hurtful way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. You can't walk with God unless you're bringing your soul before the Lord and saying, lord, Lord, show me if there's sin in my heart. Show me. Because, if we say we have fellowship with him and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. You have to bring your heart, your soul, your life before the Lord. And when there are things that the holy spirit convicts you of, you have to confess that as sin and get those right with him. If we confess our sins, he's faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from. Well, you're listening to Real truth for today. Pastor Jeff Schrieve here, the pastor of First Baptist Church in Texarkana, Texas. When we come back from the break, we'll be taking your calls. 888-589-8840. That's 888-589-8840. If you have a question, if you have a comment, I would love to hear from you.

Leveraging iVoterGuide.com for Informed Political Decisions and Understanding Candidate Stances
Jeff Chamblee If you'd like to contact Pastor J.E. email pastor jeffromhishheart.org now back to Real Truth for today with Pastor Jeff Schrieve.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Welcome back to the program. Pastor Jeff here, you just heard from Walker Wildmon, talking about ivoterguide.uh com. It's important that, if you don't know in your region and you don't know what somebody stands for, go there, go to that website. You can look it up. they've done the research for you. You can see where they stand on issues. And so I encourage you to do that. Now, not too long ago, I ran across a clip from Allen Dershowitz.
Alan Dershowitz's Shift: A Former Democrat's Endorsement of Republican Principles
Allen Dershowitz was a Harvard law professor from 1964 to 2013. He has the status of, professor emeritus there at Harvard. Big time Democrat, but not anymore. This is what he had to say, just, I don't know, a month or so ago.
Robin Look, the Democratic Party is dead in the water. The problem is, they may win this midterm election, and if they do, they will make it harder. And I'm, as an old Democrat, I am trying my best to prevent the Democrats from winning the midterms. I want the Republicans to win the midterms. I don't want AOC to be a chairman of the department. I don't want Liz Warren, to be the chairman of a committee. I don't want Bernie Sanders to have more power. The only way to do that is to vote Republican. Now, I don't agree with everything in the Republican platform. I'm not happy with some of the policies they have. But you pick between the lesser of the two evils. And there's no question in my mind today, the Democrats are the evil party in America. They are very similar to what we saw in Germany in 1932. Some of them, not all of them. You got a person like Fetterman. If he were the Democratic Party, I'd become a major contributor to the Democratic Party. But he's not the Democratic Party anymore. And he, in fact, said yesterday he would quit the Democratic Party. He himself, Senator from Pennsylvania, would quit if they became the anti Israel party, which they're becoming. They have Trump derangement syndrome. Anything Trump does is wrong. Anything against Trump must be right. That's not in the interests of the American people. And so, I'm proud of my leaving Democratic Party. I'm proud of joining the Republicans.
Pastor Jeff Schreve That was Allen Dershowitz, the Harvard, law professor for so many years, and now has the emeritus status, a big Democrat for all these years.
John Fetterman: A Voice of Sanity in the Democratic Party and the Dangers of Political Blindness
And he clearly says, vote, Republican because, you don't want these people AOC Bernie Sanders, Elisabeth Warren, you don't want them in control of things. And, I echo what he said about Jon Fetterman. I. I didn't think Jon Fetterman was going to be any good. You know, he was on that debate, and he was recovering from a brain injury, a stroke, whatever. He had something that, was affecting his ability to think. But he's recovered. And, that guy is the voice of sanity, one of the lone voices of sanity, in my opinion, in the Democrat Party. And, they. They want to get rid of him. They don't like him because, you know, the way things are, you knuckle under and you go with the flow, or we will get rid of you. And so, I encourage you to take that to heart. Allen Dershowitz is not just Willie off the pickle truck. he's somebody that is very learned, and I wouldn't agree with, obviously, with maybe a lot of the things that he espouses, but, I think he's got this right, and he recognizes how dangerous it is for our country to follow in the footsteps of early Nazi Germany. Well, we're going to the phone lines. 888-589-8840, and we have Dannah on the line from Texas.
Listener Testimonials: Appreciations for Pastor Shreve and Support for Jail Ministry
Dannah, welcome to Real Truth for today.
Caroline Well, thank you, Pastor Schrieve. I'm going to talk fast because I'm just. My heart's racing because I just listen to you every day. So, first of all, I'm going to try to get there tonight in Belton and, meet you and, appreciate that maybe I can get my husband there, too. He very much of an introvert, but he's kind of like a Charles Spurgeon. He likes. He teaches Sunday school, and he likes to exit out the. The corridor, you know, but anyway, But, But he's a very loving man. But anyway, so. And also, I was thinking, in our repertoire of ministry, giving that, I didn't really. We didn't really have anything to some sort of jail ministry. So I'm really looking forward to listen to that, very quickly, too. I have a journal here, and so, I've gotten that out when you're talking or anything you' or the people you interview, I just journal it. And so I always remember that, the look and the touch and the word or. I probably got that out of order. And then when you said that relationship is spelled T, I, M, M, E. I just got through saying that to my daughter. I can share and shine with some of These things that you say that stick in my mind. And then lastly, m. I wanted to say that was in Dripping Springs, babysitting my three grands and helping my daughter out while her husband was on a business trip this week. So I got the mail on Tuesday and I got that vile pamphlet in the mail from that Texas trans. And I'm probably going to mail it to Walker Wildmon so he'll know what it looks like and everything. And, I'm going to tell my Sunday school class and pass it around of, why we need to vote. but anyway, I don't know if you've seen that.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Yeah, I got sent. They sent me one. Yeah, it's vile.
Caroline So, anyway, I just. Thank you, thank you, thank you for just, being in, my life.
Concluding Remarks and Well Wishes from Pastor Jeff Shreve to Listener Dana
And you're just amazing. I know you and Debbie already know that, but thank you for what you do. Thank you very much.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Thank you, Dannah. I look forward to seeing you tonight and. And tell your husband I want to see him and shake his hand. So hopefully you guys can both come tonight. God bless you. Well, we have, Linne on the line from Arkansas. Linne, welcome to Real Truth for today.
Engaging College Students in Politics: The Need for Information and I-Voter Guide
Caroline Yeah, hi. I just wanted to say that in Fayetteville, Arkansas, there are tons of students from Texas. And if you have like a small group, college students or whatever, if you could somehow incorporate, politics. I know that in church you don't want to say vote for this person or that, but they, you could give them I voter guide or some.com, afrs, you know, voting facts on who donates to them and all that. that could really help. And I mean, there are students who know absolutely nothing about some of the things going on.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Right.
Caroline I spoke to one of them at a church, and honestly, I thought she was going to have some kind of breakdown or something. She almost crying. She said politics and all of that. And anyway, it was bad. that's all I wanted.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Well, thank you, Lyn. The thing that's, a big concern for me is I think younger people, they don't realize that, as Barack Obama rightly said, elections have consequences. And if you vote in somebody that is going to steal away your freedoms, there's going to be a consequence for that.
The Consequences of Elections: A Warning Against Voting for Policies Detrimental to Freedom
you vote in a Muslim socialist, you're going to pay the price for that. you voted in your own suicide. and, just like the people voted in Hitler. Well, they say, well, we were uninformed. Well, who's. That's on you to be uninformed. And so don't just, as Jesus said, don't judge with. With on, appearance sake, but judge with righteous judgment. So you have to look and see. Okay, James Talarico, for example, he keeps changing his tune. He's trying to come be, become a centrist now. And he's trying to distance himself from the things that he said before. And Babs, Miller, the lesbian staff, member at his church, Austin Presbyterian Church, he said, well, he's just saying that to get elected, but when he gets elected, he'll go back to what he really believes. Well, and that's her on hidden camera. And of course he's doing that because he knows my views are very radical. So I have to just say, oh, ah, I misspoke when I said there's six genders. I didn't really mean this, didn't really mean that I'm really a capitalist. And, blah, blah, blah. All the things that he's trying to walk back, but his true colors look to see how he voted, look to see what he said when he's not on the campaign trail. that's who the guy is.
The Aftermath of Political Choices: Lessons from France and the Importance of Righteous Judgment
And so if you vote for, a train wreck, don't be surprised when you get, the aftermath of that. As that French woman who was voting, so to speak, with the radicals, they came to her shop and destroyed it. Because you're not going to be immune from, from, from the wrath and from the consequences. So God bless you, Linne. we have Roy on the line from Mississippi.
Reflections on Ken Paxton, the Rapture, and the Antichrist's Rise Amidst Global Chaos
Roy, welcome to the program.
Caroline Hey, Pastor Jeff, God bless you for what you do. I have two quick comments. One is on Ken Paxton. If I could speak to the Christians of Texas, I would, I would quote Jesus to him. he who is without sin cast the first stone. And also when it comes to the rapture, when the rapture takes place, that's going to cause a chaos across the world like has never been seen before. And they're going to be screaming for answers. And I believe that's when the Antichrist is going to rise up and say, I have the answers. Thank you, sir, for what you do.
The Importance of Speaking Truth in Love: Addressing Sin and Encouraging Spiritual Intervention
Pastor Jeff Schreve Yeah, great point, Roy. I totally agree with you. God bless you, brother. We have Robin on the line from Virginia. Robin, welcome to Real Truth for today.
Caroline Well, God bless you, Pastor Schrieve. I, I'm only humbling calling back today, so I apologize for calling back because of the. And I wanted to make clear, and the other women have already said that you are such a, thorough explainer. You know, the way I so appreciate AFR and I want to encourage people to donate just for the purposes of whether it's biblical teaching or even political information that you give out. You're like a pastor, teacher, friend and coach. You know, it's amazing how you. But what happened. And the reason why I'm calling back is because I didn't want to be misunderstood by my comment yesterday about paradoxes and God is bigger than any paradox. And to so to say this quickly because you mentioned the verse about, I look up into the hills from whence cometh my help. Back in 1983, I read poem and it talks about. Because I've had a dear friend who turned knowing her from sixth grade to the gay lifestyle and never even shared that with me about 10, 15 years ago. So I do struggle. I feel like it's important to walk the walk and follow the Bible. I appreciate how you explain it, but if I could share this poem shortly. It's about how God is bigger than everything and it's so important what you share and what you teach. I lift my eyes from. I, lift my eyes into the hills from whence shall come those lovely chills that stop my heart and carefully fill a wounded soul with calming still. How far beyond this blessed day can I, I perceive my traveled way so I can know and firmly stay in this his light I found today all time proceeds and this I'll be a child of God upon his knee. A, faithful love I cannot see that holds me close and sets me free.
Pastor Jeff Schreve That's good. That's very good, Pastor Schrieve, for what
Caroline you do, because it's stressful and controversial to talk about politics, but we can't be afraid. We can't be afraid, you know, to stand on the truth because God will do the rest.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Right. Well, I appreciate that, Robin, and you're exactly right. You know, as Paul said in Galatians 4:16, I come back to this verse a lot. Have I become your enemy by telling you the truth? Now we speak the truth in love. We don't use the truth as a billy club to smash people over the heads with.
The Christian's Duty as a Watchman on the Wall: Sounding the Alarm Against Danger
But, those caught up in sin, the reason we're telling you, hey, you're going the wrong way. Those caught up in the transgender insanity, you are destroying your life. If you keep going down that path, it's just going to lead you off a cliff. And we love you too much to let you do that without trying to intervene and saying, stop, you're going the wrong way. Don't keep traveling, down this path. And so that's what a Christian is supposed to do. Whether people respond to that or not, that's on them. But, as the Lord says in the Book of Ezekiel, if you see the enemy coming, you're a watchman on the wall. And, you know, you don't sound the alarm, you don't warn them. Their blood is on your hands because you knew what was coming, and, you didn't say anything because of the fear of man or whatever it might be. And so we cannot, succumb to the fear of man. We have to say, okay, the Lord's called me to be this witness, to be this watchman on the wall, and I'm going to sound the alarm. Whether you kill the watchman for sounding the alarm, that's your business. But I'm going to be faithful to the Lord. So God bless you.
Churches Falling Short: The Need to Address Cultural Issues and Political Ramifications
Robin, we have Tim on the line from North Carolina. Tim, welcome to Real Truth for today.
Caroline Thank you. Pastor Schrieve, I really enjoy your programs, and I really appreciate it here these last weeks where you've, openly talked about Kansas, Talarico, and today, the Hamilton, in Kansas. and the big concern I have is I appreciate you speaking out about it. I wish more people would listen to the program about this, but I feel, unfortunately, that churches are falling way short. I. I'm in a small church, and we just really shy away from any of the cultural issues, anything to do with politics. I mean, right now, we're currently kind of in a evangelism stage that we just got to get out and witness the people. What my concern is, even though when we witness the people, these young, someone that just comes to Christ, they're going to really have some struggles with these cultural issues. And if we're not openly talking about, you know, the differences in these parties, it's just. It's so overwhelming. I just, can't believe that we're dealing with it.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Yeah, that's a good point, Tim. you know, elections have consequences. So you think back of Nazi, about Nazi Germany.
The Silent Pastors of Nazi Germany: A Warning Against Political Apathy and Its Devastating Consequences
the people could have and the pastor could have, especially as, as Rick Metaxas points out in his book Letter to the American churches, you had 18,000, roughly 18,000 Protestant pastors. 3,000 were for Hitler, 3,000 were openly against Hitler, the Confessing Church. And 12,000 just did nothing. They stayed silent, and they said, we don't want it. We're just going to put our head down, and we're just going to, you know, sing Kumbaya. And, as a result, millions and millions and millions, roughly 17 million people were killed because Hitler went unchecked. Well, God bless you. Thank you for listening today to real truth.
Robin For today.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Go out, shine for Christ and share what great things the Lord has done for you. And God will use you as his witness. God bless.

God bless.
