Abdul Rahman Mohammad Said My name is abdul rahman mohammed sayyid, And I am so proud and honored to stand here as your senator elect from the great state of Michigan. You might have noticed I always say inshallah, or God willing, whenever the outcome of this race was mentioned. But today, tonight, we can turn that inshallah into a, alhamdulillah. And so to all the kids who watched this last month, to all the parents who struggled to explain why the president openly mocked someone for their name or how they pray, let them know tomorrow that the bad guys lost.
Sandy Rios Okay, El Sayed. And so that's how he, m. Spoke to his crowd, I guess they understand, stood all those words as he was, you know, praising and, thanking Allah for his victory. this is very dangerous. We had just finished this election, and this is a very, I think, special show. My goal today, if you're paying attention, you're probably in a little bit of despair. I certainly was. Wednesday, morning. It was a hard day. I just felt stunned because I didn't see that coming. Not that much of a win. And I've been thinking, of course, sometimes you just have to let things soak in before you know how to think about them. And I think even that then it takes time to kind of settle in. But today, I want to kind of talk to you about what this means to us in a practical sense, for our lives coming, coming forward. And then I want to give you what I think God would have us feel about it. I want to give us some perspective. And so that's what we're going to do today on this show. This is Sandy rios on Sandy Rios, 24 7. And, before, we get to the next part, I want to remind you about preborn. And I'll tell you up front, if you would like to help us, go to preborn.com sandy preborn.com sandy but on a personal note, Preborn's, been sponsoring this podcast for about three years, and we're so grateful to them. But my journey and trying to save babies goes back a really long way. I was 21, and I was living in Berlin, Germany, and I needed a piece of paper. So I opened a drawer in a desk that I didn't even know who it belonged to, opened that drawer, and instead of finding paper, I saw brochures of babies torn, dismembered, bloody, horrible pictures. It was the first time in my life I had ever really thought about abortion. Because when I was growing up, you never even heard that word. It was like a Dirty word, like a curse word. We never said it, but when I saw those photos, it would just pierced my heart at such a deep level, I could still remember it now. And, so I've had a passion for life. And I bet that's your story too. It maybe have happened in a different way. That's the issue that drew me into politics later and, because I could not believe they were doing that. So for all of these years, this has been, one of my many, deep concerns about what's happening in our culture. And that's why I was so happy and have been so happy that PreBorn has been our sponsor. By the way, with your help, we have saved 50,000 babies this year. 50,000. I think that's amazing and I want to thank you for that. And I think, you know, with the money that you've given and for me too, Bruce was just reminding me just a couple days ago, he was bragging on me to me and I don't want it. My point is that he was just talking about just reflecting on how many babies I've helped to save. And that's not my ownership, it's just my part. And you think about how many babies by your generosity you have saved and how many mothers that have been to led to Christ because of the ministry preborn. Anyway, I want to thank you for that. That's pretty amazing. And if you would like to join the family of people who support preborn and save babies in this beautiful way, go to preborn.com sandy that's preborn.com sandy. Well, all right, so we're going to be talking about the election, but more, perspective than all the details because you can get that on the news. and so we'll talk about that. And at the end of the show today, we have a special announcement. So stay tuned for today's edition of Sandy Rios, 24 7,
American Family Radio announcer from American Family Radio. Sandy Rios.
Sandy Rios We are not called to be nice. We are often called to be confrontational.
Sandy Rios And here with me in D.C. is Fox News contributor Sandy Rios.
Sandy Rios I think the most important thing we need to demonstrate to our children is genuineness, that we actually believe what we say we believe. Our
Fox News anchor (unidentified) longtime Fox News contributor, Sandy Rios. Thanks very much for being with us.
Sandy Rios Seek justice. Not social justice, but God's justice, what's right and what's wrong.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband) Sandy Rios is with the American Family Association, a
Speaker G pro life radio talk show host.
Sandy Rios We've got to say this is the line I life is sacred.
Sandy Rios Director of Governmental affairs for the American Family Association
Sandy Rios Step up, speak up. Say something, do something. All right, Sandy Rios with you again. And today we're going to talk about this election and give some updates and then just some perspective. Bruce is joining me. Hi, sweetheart.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband) Good morning.
Sandy Rios And for those of you who are new to the show, Bruce is my husband. That's the only person I call sweetheart, except my children, my co host, sweetheart. anyway, Bruce is a retired FBI agent and a former prosecutor in the city of Chicago, Cook County. So, I've asked him to join me. We're both very vested in this, and we both had kind of a bummer day yesterday. This. We're talking to you on, November, fifth. So. Okay, Bruce, we. We kind of took, Republicans took a whooping. I'd say conservatives took a whooping. And so let's talk about the numbers for a second, if you could do that, please.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband) If we must. Yeah. Yeah. The numbers from, the midterm on Tuesday were not pretty if you're a conservative or a Republican or both. And so in the Senate, there's still some undecided seats, but the Democrats are going to have a minimum of 54 seats out of 100. The Republicans will have 44, and of course, you need 51 for a majority. Alaska and surprisingly, Mississippi remain undecided at this time. It's razor thin in Mississippi. And on the House of Representatives side, it looks like the Democrats are going to have a minimum of 240 seats, the Republicans, 147 seats. 214 are required for a majority. So there's still many races that have to be decided because obviously every two years, the midterm, the entire House of Representatives is up for election. So we have a lot of races outstanding there.
Sandy Rios Let me first of all say, you know, I kind of cajoled you this last few weeks to please vote. And for those of you who did that and went out and took your time to do that, I just. I just want to thank you. I know it's not a huge thing, is it? But some people just didn't find it in their hearts to do that or their time or their schedule. I don't even know what the total is now. There's a lot of things I don't know about. How many Christians voted or how many, you know, conservatives voted. I maybe. Maybe that's out yet, but I don't really know. but I know that a lot of people voted. I know also there was a lot of, I don't know if they reported this on the news much, but there was a lot of, chicanery. And I don't know if it's enough, if it would equal 2020 or, you know, who knows? Because I don't think people are reporting it. And maybe they've just. I don't know. But I will tell you this, that, NewSong York and Westchester, because, you know, there's the governor's race there. And, Bruce. Kathi Hochul is the sitting governor. And Bruce, I just. I mean, I didn't write this down. His first name is Bruce, but he was Blakeman. He was running for the Republican seat. And he was so close to where she. And suddenly she comes out yesterday or Monday or Tuesday morning, perhaps telling us that, they didn't have papers, things were breaking down, and she was so sorry. And so we had that, and then we had that in several states, actually. Maricopa county, do you remember that? That's in Arizona. That's where all the Trouble was in 2020. And, you know, people weren't able to vote or they were told, like in Broward county. That's where the trouble was in Florida many years ago too, that, they had to go to a different voting place. And one guy on Twitter said, look, I've been voting here for years. This is my place. Now they're telling me I have to go to a place 25 minutes away. And he said, I'm going to do that. I will stay there because I'm going to vote. But how many people are going to do that? We had that happening in, Fulton county that people got fake. Fulton is the other famous place for cheating. People were sent fake text saying that their polling place was not working or not functioning or they needed to go somewhere else. And so in San Diego, some voters caught ballots being, transferred from and on the ground outside and transferred from the official box to another bag. So they tried to challenge the guys that were there doing that. I don't know what the result of that was. In Michigan, in El Said's, you know, his home state. Haley Stevens is very popular in, Michigan, and a lot of her voters are black Americans and Jewish Americans. And when they saw that Haley was not going to vote for Al Sayed but for Mike Rogers, because she announced that they felt the same way. They feel very uncomfortable with Al Said. But when they went to the polls and they wanted to vote for the Republican for Senate and a down ballot, for the Democrats, they were told they couldn't do that. You can't split your ballot so that group of people, however, however big they were, were not able to vote for Mike turn Mike Rogers. So I don't know. I'm not saying that these things caused the election, to us to lose us. I'm talking about conservatives to lose the election. But I think it was almost too big and too perfect and too unlikely that something hasn't taken place there. But that's just an aside. You can't dwell on it. Who in the world is going to ever figure that out? but I think, you know, if this group, this massive group I've been describing to you, who wants to cause an insurrection and take over this country, can organize to the degree they've been organized, why couldn't a group do something like this and, cause such a swing in this election and have the most unlikely candidates? you know, when, like I think of, Talarico in Texas, of all places, Talarico, James Talarico is an absolute apostate. He says God has three. He's supposed to be a pastor. God has three genders, and God is non binary, and on and on. And when he was in the Texas assembly, which he is now, he pushed all kinds of transgender bills. So now we have this, you know, tell Rico from Texas, which is amazing to me. We also have, a gentleman named Adam Hamilton. Now, I talked about Adam Hamilton quite a bit. He's a pastor, too. But he's way wacky, just like Tellarico, except they didn't report it. he said we. He said, among other things, that we needed to repent for our whiteness. We need to repent for our whiteness. So now that's what Kansas has. First Democrat to ever be a senator from Kansas. So that's interesting.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband) And Sandy, I don't want to, turn this into a conspiracy theory. I think there's lots of reasons why this election went the way it did, whether it be the war, gas prices, or whatever. But I will say, if you look at the margins of victory in several of these cases, it's like 51 to 49, 50.5 to 49.5. And the only reason I bring that up is if you're going to cheat, it didn't take much in these elections to swing the vote the other way. Yeah.
Sandy Rios And it's just so, improbable to me. I don't care if a lot of conservatives, you know, we don't know how many conservatives, Christians, didn't bother to vote. I'm sure it's high because they felt it was too righteous. They were, I've said this before, they were too righteous to go out and vote for the candidates they didn't like. Like, in a lot of states there were unpleasant candidates. That's part of the reason that conservatives lost. I know that's true. People weren't able to understand that the whole thing fits together here in terms of the victory. So, and I'm going to explain to you in just a second what I'm talking about with that now. A lot of people talked about a lot of reasons, for, you know, why we lost, that assuming it was a fair election. Matt Walsh actually was very disappointing to me, because, this is what he said. Clip 6
Matt Walsh this is a vision where this deeply unpopular war that just, it helped in getting us totally wiped out continues for a certain amount of time. And even if it. My point is that even if it ends with something that he can call a victory, it's still deeply unpopular. We've already suffered a catastrophic defeat because of it. And I would argue that this defeat is enough to make it not worth it again. Handing our country over to communists is, is not worth it. I, I would rather, you know, I don't buy, first of all, that this was really about stopping Iran from getting a nuke or that it will actually accomplish that. But even if it were, I don't. It's not worth handing our country over to communists, even to stop Iran from getting a nuke. I'd rather Iran have a nuke than my country be run by communists.
Sandy Rios Okay. Matt is so wise. I, I just love his commentary, at least I used to. But this is the way a lot of people think. A lot of the pundits, I think it came from Tucker Carlsen. He, first of all, he doesn't think, he doesn't really think that was about getting Iran's nukes or it wasn't popular. A lot of people are saying that it's about the war. I don't understand that. I think, for one thing with Matt, I just think he's too young to understand. I know he's not young, young, but he doesn't have perspective like someone at my age. Iran is deadly serious about destroying us. They are deadly serious about destroying Israel as well. we are the big Satan and they're the little Satan. And so I don't. They just, don't he. So he, he doubts it. He doubts that we went to war to stop their nuclear weapons. I just think that's. That is just that thinking doesn't make any sense. And he said that he would. Yeah, he said that he, would rather Iran have nukes, than we have communists run the country. What kind of a comparison is that, Bruce?
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband) You know, to me, it's. It's really a reflection of how people do not understand Muslim, the Islamic religion, the true radicals, the point of them being alive is to bring about the end of the world, because their belief, and it's right in the Koran, is when the world ends, their Messiah will. Will return. And that's their mission in life, is to bring back this Messiah. And so when people talk about Iran having a nuclear weapon and, and just speaking of it as in, a passing. Oh, yeah, by the way, if they get a nuclear weapon, that won't be a big deal. Believe me, they would. Iran will be using that weapon. Look at the way they hate Israel. They will use that weapon against Israel so quickly. And even if it's with the threat of the United States retaliating against them, they don't care because we would almost be doing what they want. And that's bringing about the end of the world.
Sandy Rios Right? And they'll be martyrs, and they love that. That's why they do a lot of suicides in an effort to kill people like us. And of course, they. They hate us as much as they hate Israel because we are Christian, Judeo Christian, and we're all infidels. And so they're not going to stop and that nuclear weapon is going to be used on us. And so, Matt, please wake up about that. that's not a good choice. we want to have a free country, but we also don't want to be annihilated. So how about we don't do either one? So, anyway, but people are saying this. The war is the big topic. I know. I don't even want to go into this too much, except to say that President, Trump did something pretty bold when he did that, and brave, because he knew, and he said he knows this won't be popular, but he has to do that. I don't know if we've ever had a president that is so intent on saving his country and building it back up. he's completely devoted to that, to his own detriment. You know, how many times have they attempted to kill him? Several times. And yet he fights. He doesn't have to do this. He could resign, you know, move to a foreign country or buy an island or something, but he wants to help this country. I think he genuinely Loves it. I think of that passage, this is not set, this is not about Jesus. This is about any of us. Greater love has no man than this. That a man laid down his life for his friends or his country. I just, I think it's, amazing. I'm not sure we're worthy of him. And by that I'm talking about the fact that we're just so sure, so shortsighted, we're not willing to sacrifice anything. Any inconvenience becomes a huge thing like this. The gas prices, the diesel prices. And I understand that some have really suffering, especially with the diesel. Nevertheless, if you got to choose that or a nuclear attack from Iran, that's what the President has to think of, think about. And so, so, and again, I blame Tucker for this because Tucker started it all and a lot of these young pundits listened to him and believed him and it was like a poison that spread. So it's still there with Mike or with Matt. So, and other reasons, for why this election happened the way it did. We're kind of, announced by Governor DeSantis. Boy, will we miss him. Bruce.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband) Oh, ah, boy, I wish we could change the Florida Constitution so he could be governor in
Sandy Rios perpetuity. Me too. Well, anyway, he was on Laura Ingraham, last night and this is what he said. Clip 3
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband) well, you know, here's the problem that when people, would say that, and if you're going to do huge conservative things that are going to reorient
Ron DeSantis the country for a generation, fine. But I saw no indication that the current group of Republican senators were interested in doing that type of bold
Ron DeSantis conservative change. I mean, why haven't we done immigration, shut off H1B visas? Why haven't we codified Trump's immigration executive orders? There's so why haven't we stripped jurisdiction
Ron DeSantis from the federal courts over deportation cases? There's so many things that could have been done. They didn't even attempt it, Laura. They would say, oh, if only we needed 50 votes, we would have done it. You don't have 50 votes for doing conservative things. You've never shown that you'll do conservative things even with 50 votes. So I hear you. I'd love to see all this great stuff being done. I just never saw an indication that they did it. And look, this midterm, no question was a rebuke of the President and the Congress by Democrats, Independents and some Republicans that crossed over. But a lot of our voters who stayed home, they stayed home because they were frustrated with the Lack of productivity from Republicans in the House and Senate. They didn't have a record. Fact, I think it was big. I think it was.
Ron DeSantis And they didn't deliver it. So it's really both sides of Pennsylvania Avenue. It's not just one.
Sandy Rios Thank you, Governor DeSantis. Now, just one more word on blaming it on the war. I just think it's one thing. It's been said so much, people, even before the economy, the prices were going up every day. On the news. They told us how expensive things are doing are, how expensive gas prices are. They just create. They just kept saying it over again, the economy's terrible, when the truth is the economy is actually very strong and building back. But it's going to take time for those other prices to come down. So I don't think that's the reason personally, but this. I think that Governor DeSantis put his finger on the mark when he said this last night, because he's basically saying that the Congress didn't do anything, they didn't do anything.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband) You know, we have watched Jon Thune just throw up his hands whenever he's asked about the Save America Act. This defeat was very foreseeable by the inaction of the Republican senators. This Save America act would have required people to prove that they're citizens and would have required voter id. Now, again, I don't want to blame this whole loss, of the Republicans on cheating, but why, why in the world, when you have all three chambers of government, all three levers of government, the House, the Senate and the presidency, would you not pass this Save America Act? It was passed by the House four times or three times. And Thune would just say, I don't have the votes. You know, it's funny, when Nancy Pelosi, was leading the House, she always had the votes. she found him some way. And Jon Thune, I cannot figure him out. And now after this big, stunning defeat, his, response is, well, we're not just going to stand by. Well, you know, why not just keep standing by? That's all he's been doing for the last two years. And, you know, I'm not a Washington person. I am amongst people like me, just out and about. And I can tell you that the things that were driving most of them are conservatives that I hang with, that things that were making them angry was the way the war was being prosecuted. And I think what President, Trump did wrong is he cried. He's like the boy who cried wolf. Too many times he kept saying we're going to have the war over. It's going to be over in a week or so. It's going to be, I have no idea why he kept saying that. And I hate to criticize him because I think he took a big bold step in trying. Like Sandy, you were just talking about the overriding good of getting Iran out of the nuclear race versus short, term gas price hikes and inconvenience to some of the things that we have relied on for products that have now gone up in cost. But it, one of the things that so many people said is, I couldn't, I, I, let's get this war over with. Why are we dragging this out? And I really don't understand why President Trump has done what he, he's done. And I really didn't understand when he said, well, wait till the midterms are over and then we're really going to go to town on this war. I don't understand that. But that's a side issue. And I think people, again, like you were saying, I understand farmers and ranchers, people that really use a lot of gasoline were really hurt by this. But the average person, we can absorb the extra, 10 to $10 a tank that this usually results in these price hikes.
Sandy Rios You know, President Trump, actually they gave several million dollars to the farmers. I don't know if it was grants, I don't know what you call it, but to help them with their diesel prices, probably nobody knows that. But here's the thing. I think, on top of the war, I think most people were most aggrieved, about the way that it didn't end. We had this incredible beginning on the war and then just stalled out. And I do think that was a bad strategy. Except we don't know everything, Bruce. We don't know everything. Absolutely right. And we don't know why, but, and I found that President Trump is usually right and he can't tell you why, he can't tell you, he can't lay it all out. but nevertheless, I don't think the war really, I actually want to go back to Thune and the rino. Really, what is it about? Lukewarm spit you out of my mouth. these Republicans that did nothing. In fact, Thom Tillis, made a video just last week saying he's got the, the date of the election on a short time calendar and he can't wait to see the Republicans lose. He can't wait. That's the Republican senator in from North Carolina, sitting Senator. So, and then we've got McConnell who's just been absent and he has his staff voting for him and they, he hates President Trump. and then we got a whole bunch of them standing there. I'm not going to name all of them, but I'm going to pick on Thune for a second. And this is what he tweeted, I believe, yesterday. Over the last two years, Senate Republicans have put up a strong record of accomplishment that's created safer streets, more money in Americans pockets, and new opportunities for families and businesses to get ahead after fighting Democrat obstruction at every turn. Okay, so I'm not going to answer that, but I think you pretty much know how I feel about what they've done. This is from my friend, Cleta Mitchell. Cleta is an Election Integrity Network, the head of that. She's a very well known, attorney in D.C. and very eloquent. She's been with me many times on the show. So she responds to Thune this way. No, you didn't. You are absolutely 100% wrong. You did nothing of the sort. The NRSC, Senate Republicans under your leadership did nothing. Nothing. You had the chance to begin the process of saving our election system from a radical left by passing the Save America Act. But K Street, that's where all the lobbyists are. K Street, either didn't care or opposed it, so why bother, right? Because the GOP Senate only does what, what can be monetized via those endless lobbyist dinners and fundraisers. If it can't raise you money, probably not worth doing. And you berated Senator Mike Lee for trying to get you to work full weeks to try to pass the Save America act or to work a, ah, weekend sometime, or not to recess for weeks in March and, and then again recess for a month in August. You and your fellow GOP Senators told him that nobody cared, about the Save America act, that he needed to sit down and shut up. And the American people watched you day after lazy do nothing day and how you literally could not come up with a single idea to manage the Senate rules to get the bill passed. You just could not figure it out because you really didn't and don't care. And because you, are just clueless. What's all the fuss? You say it's not a big deal to you that our election system has been taking over and manipulated by the left, the aliens by the hundreds of thousands are on our voter rolls, that there are illegal votes by the thousands in the election results, and that it matters it matters to the usa, but not to you, Jon Thune. So now you don't have to worry about it. You don't have to be in charge of producing meaningful results for the American people. They just sent you to your room without any supper. I'm sure you must be relieved. You and your fellow GOP colleagues who just flat couldn't be bothered to figure out how to save our elections. Well done you. What a waste of space you've been as a leader. That term should never be applied to you or to your inner circle. Utterly disgusted by the lot of you. You did this. Tuesday was the Thune election. You own it. Hope you're happy. How, about that, Bruce?
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband) Well,
Sandy Rios I'd say she
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband) reflects our feelings exactly.
Sandy Rios Totally. Totally. And that's exactly. That is you could take it to the bank. That's what happened. And there's more. They did nothing and they mocked. And so now we're stuck with them. They've. They. I blame it on them. If I blame it on anyone, it's that class of people. anyway, I could say more about that, but let's go to something else. one interesting thing. You've seen these speeches by the Democrats about how they're going to improve the economy. They're going to do all the things that supposedly the Republicans promised they would do. They're going to, you know, build back business. They're going to, bring back jobs. I'm not sure how they're going to do any of that since they are not producing people, they're complaining people. But I'll give you an illustration. This is actually how they are responding to the election on Tuesday, to their win. Listen. Clip 5.
Sandy Rios Democrats on Capitol Hill wasting no time planning for what's
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband) next.
Chuck Schumer Make no mistake, whenever Trump defies the will of the American people or the law, we will launch investigations, take him to court and entangle him in legislative
Sandy Rios razor wire.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband) The top Democrat on the Senate Finance Committee, Ron Wyden, posting on X subpoenas. The likely next chairman of the House Oversight Committee, Robert Garcia, advising lawyer up with hints given about who might be targeted even before election Day.
Speaker L The calculation that we've been discussing about Donald Trump might not be the same calculation for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. It might not be the same calculation for Pete Hegseth. So we believe that impeachment is very much a tool in the constitutional toolbox.
Sandy Rios Early this year, Democrats shared the Trump family digital grift wealth tracker. And with the power to subpoena witnesses, they're expected to investigate Trump's Sons Rick and Don Jr. And and son in law Jared Kushner. Having raised concerns about wealth raked in through foreign business deals from cryptocurrency and pardons granted by Trump himself for those who paid millions and a name we haven't heard much of for a while, Jeffrey Epstein.
Ed Vitagliano We're going to bring accountability to those who have visited unprecedented corruption on this country.
Sandy Rios The debate over the best path forward coming with a new warning from the current speaker of the House. If they
Abraham Hamilton III make the next two years about retribution and lawfare and partisan games, every American will suffer by
Sandy Rios that. Even some Democrats cautioning against spending too much time on investigations.
Speaker O Democrats have to understand the country doesn't want any more of this. The people didn't vote for investigations,
Abdul Rahman Mohammad Said they
Speaker O voted to, for people to get them to higher economic ground.
Sandy Rios President Trump has already said he plans to protect top donor and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk. And when asked if he would issue preemptive pardons to family members and staff, he said, I would not even think about it. I'd do it. In Washington, I'm Christine Frizzow.
Sandy Rios So this is what they have in mind. And we've known that those of us that are, you know, include in or at least plugged into what's happening in Washington, they've said this openly. They're going after every single person who's a, as much as they can, who's a Trump supporter, especially of high profile. But it will be all over the country. I yesterday, on a, a chat group out of D.C. there's a, a guy in there who's a senator in a state, state senator, and he's just been a champion fighter. He's done incredible things. And he said, I don't know what to do. I know they're going to come after me. I have six children. And he said, I don't know what I'm going to do, what's going to happen? And, this is the sentiment of a lot of people that have been on the front lines doing the right things. There's going to be punishment. And, do you think while they're trying to punish everyone, they're going to help the economy very much. I'm just asking, does it sound like their priority to you?
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband) You know, this whole, the whole Democratic push was affordability. We're here to help you American families. And now, you see within, the election wasn't even over. That whole concept was a smokescreen. The, the tweets started coming out. Robert Garcia, who, is out of Orange County, California, and he's the head going to be the head of the Oversight Committee which runs these hearings. First thing he said is lawyer up. Ron Wyden said subpoenas. this is not going to be about affordability. This is going to be about revenge. And you can bet that there will be articles of impeachment brought forth in the House within maybe the day that the Congress has sworn in, Lawfare. If you think we saw it before, I think you're going to see it in spades now. And, you know, you can see the dripping, just loathing of Trump and the Republicans when you listen to that El Sayed speech. And when you look at these tweets, we are in for a rough ride for the next two years. And remember, this in 20, 20, 28, when inflation is out of control and you haven't gotten, any affordability, what, what the Democrats have been spending their time doing.
Sandy Rios Yeah. And if they really wanted to do those things, why didn't they come out after the win and talk about what they were going to do for the economy? Instead, they talked about their vengeance. So I now. And just to make the point further, Bruce, Elsayed in his speech said a number of things. Now, you know, usually during elections, candidates, come out and graciously talk about their opponent or acknowledge them and wish them well. That's the American way. But this is what El Sayed said. This is clip two.
Abdul Rahman Mohammad Said Let them know. I want you to let them know. Let them know that we together, fighting for something bigger. We won. So, Mike, enjoy your retirement. I know you got a house in Florida and two yachts. See, you chose hate and Michigan chose hope. May we never have to see the likes of you in the state again. JD Habibi, there is this delicious irony in the fact that you're constitutionally obligated to swear me in. In. So you know that means Wolverine 1, Buckeye 0. Donald, look, I know you. You struggled with my name. So after JD Swears me in in January, you could just go on and call me. To the super PACs and special interests who tried to beat us. We are coming for your system of politics. To AIPAC, who spent $42 million against us. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to beat you twice. And I want to say something here. See, they try to call you hateful. If you believe that Palestinian kids should get to grow up in the land of their forefathers without being murdered by tax dollars. If you believe in equal rights to peace, dignity and self determination, that's not hate, it's love. Michiganders. We want our taxes spent here for schools here and healthcare here and infrastructure here. We don't want our money sent to do apartheid or genocide or.
Sandy Rios Okay, so, he's telling us something. He's telling us who he really is. He's really explaining it. That first clip that we played where he introduced him, I'm Abdul Rakhtar Lic. Whatever. He's got a very long name. he's telling you who he is now. He's, you know, using Islamic phrases and, mocking. And that's what. Take heed, ladies and gentlemen. He has a mission. And it's not for. For the American people, or he would have talked about what he was going to do as a senator. You know, he didn't do that. He's full of, vim and vigor, shall we say, boasting. And so no congratulations or no thank you to Mike Rogers for being a worthy opponent. None of that. So. And he also said that we're going to change your politics. We're going to change your politics. He did say that. So he has a plan, you know, so I think. I think we've made our point that the Democrats are out for vengeance and we need to pray. Listen, I. I have to say, you know, I have so many friends in D.C. who work so hard. Cleta is one of them I just mentioned, and she's under fire now, too. And they will be. They. Jon Eastman is a good friend of mine. He's lost his law license. What's going to happen to them now? And I could mention a lot of other names. there's not going to be any protection for them anymore. so I, pray for all of them. And it's going to affect you, too, because you think they're going to be interested in lowering your taxes or helping you if you're a MAGA person or if you're a Republican or Trump supporter, and even by guilt by association. So, we have rough times ahead, but I want to turn to something else because I think there's another reason why what happened Tuesday happened. Because regardless of how it happened, to the mechanics or if there was cheating or something, something very clever that we didn't. Haven't even identified yet. God allowed this. There's no question about that. And, you know, when you think about God bringing judgment, when we follow the pattern, first of all, he. He usually brings judgment by another people. You know, it's the Babylonians for the Jews. they. They carried them away. From their country. And they took their special things from their faith, you know, out of the temple. And the Jews, of course, were in bondage or. Yeah. In slavery to the Babylonians for a number of years. But, and so then when God brought judgment and the flood, it says in, Genesis that when. When God saw the evil that men did to each other and that every thought in their heads was continually evil all the time, and there was so much violence that man did to other men. That's why he destroyed the earth by a flood. And there's this one clip, actually. Bruce found this clip, and it kind of reveals a lot of the kinds of people that are in this country. Now. This girl happened to be in the line getting ready to vote on Tuesday, and I want you to hear what she says for El
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband) Sayed,
Sandy Rios for Al Said. Yeah. All right, here's the clip. Clip seven.
Speaker P Is that funny?
Speaker Q You think it's funny that Charlie got shot? A little bit, yeah. Oh, wow. Very
American Family Radio announcer loving crowd. What do you think about that?
Speaker Q Is this your daughter? It's my daughter. What do you think about her saying
Speaker R that? I don't. I
Speaker S don't really agree with that. I don't think it's funny. What? Why are you happy that Charlie Kirk got shot? You're just a guy who argued with people. It was funny.
Speaker S It
Speaker Q was funny. Would it be funny if somebody shot your father for
Sandy Rios what he said?
Speaker R True. Why
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband) would it be funny if somebody shot yourself? How do you feel about that? You don't care if your dad gets shot? Sure, man. You should make that the Christmas card. All right, all right. I'm out of here.
Sandy Rios Devastated.
Speaker P Wow, you
Sandy Rios guys, you know, I'm. I'm actually, like.
Speaker Q I'm,
Sandy Rios like, bit a little. Little upset
Speaker Q right now. Like, this is really concerning.
Speaker U Oh, my God.
Speaker Q Wow. I mean, if that does not show this. This mental illness, this lack of care for other people that is plaguing our country. And this is supposed to be the loving and inclusive side where a woman has the ability, in front of her father, to say that she thinks it would be funny if he got shot. I'm, like, disgusted.
Sandy Rios You know, that's not an exaggeration. And you know that there are kids, young people all over this country, who feel that same way. Remember that WNBA game where these girls, women, two of them, wore, the T shirt that indicated they were two sexes? And these girls, as they were going up the bleachers, women and girls started saying, go kill yourself. Go kill yourself.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband) Yeah. Life has become very devalued. To many young people. and there are many reasons for it, but it is. It is shocking if, if you saw that video, this girl that was laughing, she was just gleeful that Charlie Kirk had been killed. And she couldn't have cared less, according to her, if her father was shot. Now, how do you. How do you reconcile that?
Sandy Rios Well, it's wickedness. And, And I just. That makes me think of why God might be deciding he. To bring judgment. It, it would be his pattern. And, I don't mean today. You know, it's something that develops over time. But I do feel like that's. That's probably what we're looking at because we have come to this point where people, you know, and one of the states actually passed a bill, Tuesday to have abortion, you know, up to the. Up to birth. I. I forget. There's several states already have that. Ohio has that. California has it, probably NewSong York. I'm not sure how many, but that's where we are. And, you know, girls are ordering pills, online. We're at home. They can take this one pill that kills their child and the second one that expels it. And this is why abortions are rising. And this is the most, popular form of abortion. We are a death culture. You know, even medical students now are taught, you know, abortion and, also the end of life. They're very quick to end someone's life. so I could go on and on, but, you know, what I'm saying is true, and just the death. The criminals out on the street who kill people, who cut their heads off. The girl that was on the train, and this guy gets behind her, just a girl reading paper, and she's coming back from work, and he slits her throat. I mean, it's. It would be three days before I could stop telling you those stories. We have come to a place where, for many people in our country, they do not value life. And, I just think that's very serious. I want to kind of talk now about what we can expect. I think that you need to know this. First of all, I want to. Before I forget this. I've talked probably two, if not three days. I've mentioned parts of that plot, that data Republican uncovered, to, undermine, start violence, after the election and to, go out in the streets. And they picked 10 governors to help them do this, and thousands of former, USAID workers and now thousands of former military people. It was a huge cabal. And the black bloc, which would be, Cooperating to get in the streets and just cause an uprising and really take over the country. And I think they're backing off right now, for. I won't even explain to you why, but I think they're backing off. I heard some word from someone, and so. But you know what don't you know? They're revved up to do harm. And we know that their end result, the Democratic socialists, is they want to destroy the Constitution. They call themselves, like, the Second Revolution. That's not the official name. They have other names, but that's what they consider themselves. and so we're entering into a very dark time now. For the next two years, President Trump is still president. But what's going to be happening, of course, as you just heard, they're going to be going after him with a vengeance. His family, with RFK Jr. With Pete Hegseth, probably Marco Rubio. Anybody that's on the cabinet there will be just harassed. Lawfare again, they call that. And how is President Trump going to run this country? And they could bankrupt him, really, with all the lawsuits, which is what they tried to do in the past. So that's probably. And how are they going to get anything done for the country? We've, got these new. The Democrats are going to be running the House and the. And also the Senate. Now. They can't do anything. If they pass horrible bills, President Trump can veto them for the next two years. And so it's going to be uncomfortable, miserable, but it's not going to be as bad as it's going to be after the next election for president. Because I think the way they're setting it up, there may not be any chance at all for a Republican to take that role now. I don't know. I'm not a prophet. I'm not, I don't know. But I think it's very likely that we won't see a Republican or conservative president, probably maybe ever in our time. So what's going to happen in two years if there a Democratic president is elected? And so this is, this is going to be bad news. All right. I just. I would be so worthless to you and so feckless if I didn't tell you the truth. And I, mean, I'd like to give you a rosy picture, but I can't, because it wouldn't be true. It's like the prophet, you know, who was hated, had to tell the, the king that he was going to be killed. And there were a lot of things that were going to happen. And they hated him and put him in prison. You're not going to do that to me. We're not in a position to do that. But I really have to tell you the truth. I can't make it rosy. So this is what's going to be happening. After the two year period here of turmoil, Dems will not turn the economy around. It will just get worse. You'll see gasoline prices just skyrocket as well as diesel. And why do I say that? Because that's what happened under Joe Biden. Many of you just forgotten how high gas was under Joe Biden. And the reason was because he emptied all of our reserves. They, whoever was running the government then didn't want any oil produced, no productivity, no drilling. They want everything to be electric. They don't want any fossil fuels. And that's what they're going to do. And as far as, building the economy, Democrats right now, none of them do that. They don't have any idea how to do that. They bank. Joe Biden almost bankrupt the country. He started giving out money during Cove like water. And then right before he left the White House, he just, he literally sent out as many, as much money as he could just to empty the treasury and to make our debt higher. it's unbelievable. So you can, you can plan for that, vengeance. Oh my goodness. The vengeance will really then break out even worse because they'll have control of both houses. And also now this is speculation on that, but I know if they win, this is what's going to happen. You heard them talk about vengeance. They're going to, they will unleash holy hell. and that will mean us to remember they hate, people that support Trump. So they're not for our class of people or whatever you, our group of people, there will be revenge. And, so just watch for it and be ready. And when it comes to our, 401Cs and our savings, they're in danger, because they've said actually that they plan to, they want to do that monetary system that's electronic and they'll have access to all of your money and they, they're going to be emptying our accounts. And so this is, I guess that's the way they could destroy the middle class and destroy us. the transgender movement will be absolutely unleashed. And all the perversions, the abortions and you know, I always used to ask God when I was in Chicago, I'd read a story and I would just cry in the Chicago Tribune, What people were doing to each other then. And I used to think, can it get any worse? Lord? How can it get any worse than this story? And then I'd read another news story a couple of weeks later, a month later, and it was worse than that one. And then it was worse and worse and worse. And it's not going to stand still. The wickedness in this country, it's going to be unleashed. So the, criminals will be out on the streets because they don't believe in prisons. They want to close the prisons. And we've had plenty of violence with criminals in our cities and in our streets and in our homes. They're going to open the border again. It'll be completely unleashed. We'll never have a fair election as though we. As though we just had one. the borders will be open, the Constitution will be rewritten. And, they trust me. They have great plans for us. It's, not really. So I just, in this part say the happiest people right now are the Republican establishment, like Jon thune and Mitch McConnell and all those other guys. Thom, Tillis and the guy from Texas, Jon. Jon Cornyn. They're rejoicing. so they're really, really very happy. The other people that are really happy are the. The Iranian irgc. They're very happy because they know the break is going to be taken off, the destruction of their weapons, and they're going to be free, to develop them and use them again. Take that to the bank. So the possibility of, nuclear strikes are very, very possible. And also just taking down the grid, the electric grid, they do that from space now, they can. Or from these flyover planes. So that means no energy, no Internet, no, no air conditioning. Everything runs, you know, on the grid or on them through the Internet. And that will be attacked. You can take that to the bank, too. And, so the happiest people, I'll tell you, just say one person that's going to be really happy is Ilhan Omar. She already is because, the Republicans were hot on her trail. And, she is a law breaker. She is a. A false member of Congress. She changed her name, her identity. She lied on her immigration form. She's guilty, guilty, guilty. But I think that, unless they could do that in this next two years without being stopped by these, I think what's going to happen is the House and the Senate will stop those prosecutions. And I don't know if the Justice Department can move ahead or not. Judges are corrupt. Like, I Think of James Boseberg, who's been assigned to handle Ilhana Mars cases. And, he's totally corrupt. so I've talked about him before, and I'm not going to go into that very much. But that's a sketch for you of what we can anticipate. It's going to be pre tribulation or maybe even tribulation, I don't know. And so get ready. But I want to talk to you about the other thing. Remember that God chose you to live in this era. God chose you. He knew when you were going to be born, and he knew what you were going to be living through. So keep that in mind. And remember, this is an incredible opportunity. It's an incredible opportunity for you to really draw close to God. Just, draw close to Him. And what does that mean to you? Practically, it's to be filled with his power and his presence. And I think, you know, once you experience that, you won't want to go back, even though you may be hiding in a cave and you might be, but it's an incredible opportunity to build your faith and experience God's presence and be in a powerful light in this growing darkness that we're living in. And I think of that verse that I know some say this is misapplied, but I don't think so. You know, scriptures have different meanings, but it says, eye has not seen and ear has not heard what God has prepared for those who love him. Well, I want to play, another clip because this really ministered to me the day after the election. It's a black gentleman, and this is what he says. Clip 8
Speaker V Do not be upset about these midterms. We prayed for God's will, and God's will was done. Simple as that. But I want to explain something to y' all for perspective. For these last two years, we have fought for the true God to be over America. We have fought for the children, we have fought for the people. We have fought to protect and save America while putting God as the head of our country. That's what we fought for for two years, for longer than that. But I'm just talking about in this term, and even with us warning people and explaining to people and showing people the corruption that's happening, even with God revealing the corruption that is happening and people seeing us fighting against the corruption and lifting up God, they still voted against God. If their version of a Christian is James Talarico in Texas, then it explains exactly why we are where we are right now. So I need y' all to understand something. Do not be upset about these elections. Praise the Lord, because this is going to lead to your deliverance. But for what they voted for, it's going to be their punishment, not ours. If all keeps going how they want it, they will eventually start experiencing what we've been trying to protect them from. And for some people, that's the only way that they're going to learn by experience. So stay prayed up. Do not lose faith. Do not lose hope. God is still moving on our behalf. Trust him. Trust him. God bless.
Sandy Rios I love that. And we're going to end on that note. Bruce, I have one more thing to say. but, honey, thank you for joining me. Tough times, right?
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband) It is. It's tough times. But I. What he said about. It's your deliverance against their punishment. Keep that in mind. It's the only thing that's going to keep us going, I think.
Sandy Rios Put on the full armor of God, ladies and gentlemen, and just step up to the plate. Don't hover in fear. Hold your head high, and just pray that God gives you strength and wisdom m when you come under fire, because you will. And I want to close with one last thing. And this is a scripture. Well, we're not closing. I actually have another thing I want to share with you. It's a message coming up in just a second. But, this is, Habakkuk was a prophet. And, they had been. Their country had been punished by another country. They were just experiencing horrible things. And. And he ends his, book, Habakkuk. this is, the third chapter, the 19th verse, with this, the 17th verse. Though the fig tree may not blossom nor fruit beyond the vines. Though the labor of the olive may fail, and the fields yield no food, but the flock may be cut off from the fold, and there be no herd in the stalls yet I will rejoice in the Lord. I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength. He will make my feet like deer's feet. And he will make me to walk on my high heels, the chief musician with my stringed instruments. All right, so that's my last thing for you. And, let me just pray, and then we're going to be done. Lord Jesus, you know, we need you. And maybe we've forgotten that we need you. So come into our hearts and lives and fill us with your spirit. But first of all, we need to empty out our sin. I'm saying that to you, but I'm saying it to my listeners. Create in me a clean heart, O God and renew a right spirit within me Create a clean heart Search my heart, oh God and see if there be any wicked place and lead me in the way everlasting Memorize some verses, friends and get yourself ready Gird yourself for what's to happen and let the Holy Spirit fill you and give you strength like peering through a window blurred with rain Emotions run together in the flood of doubt and pain We've prayed as best we can now we must leave it in his hands For I know when my eyes fail to see he is able. Even though it seems impossible to me he is able. But if he chooses not to move in a way we prayed he would confident he's working all things together for my good I will stand behind his work for he is able. Questions seem to haunt us night and day how could God allow my heart be torn this way? M Does he listen when I call? Is he even there at all? For I know when my eyes fail to see he is able. Even though it seems impossible to me he is able. But if he chooses not to move in a way we pray he would confident he's working all things together for my good I will stand behind his word for he is able. He is able. As the night gives way to dawning and evaporates away I stand to face another day M and I stand behind his word for he is able his own. God's strength is made perfect in our weakness. Gladly then will I glory in my weakness that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

God's Velvet Hammer, an autobiography by Sandy Rios, is full of drama and surprises. Here's a taste of what to
Sandy Rios expect. As I began to notate the events of my life, I found a strange joy and excitement I never expected. And my husband's enthusiasm was contagious. We laughed uncontrollably as I told him of strange adventures in strange places he previously never heard about. Lost in India, Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin, singing with the U.S. army band, smuggling Bibles into China, co hosting the first American broadcast from Radio Moscow, being inside North Korea on, 9 11, going nose to nose with Bill Maher, co hosting CNN's Crossfire, making friends with a Spanish countess, a model and a pioneer in the oss. Not so funny, my severely disabled daughter, the breakup of my first marriage, and my untimely end at Concerned Women for America. In this book, you will read about the execution of Jon Wayne Gacy, the inside story on the Clinton impeachment, the background story of the Born Alive Infant Protection act, anecdotes on Mike Ditka, and the Chicago Bears, embarrassing moments and crazy mistakes. I knew God's hand was on my life, but recalling the clear ways and incredible moments he directed me brought me overwhelming joy. This is not a story of success and ambition, but of calling. Like Paul writing about his qualifications to preach, his shipwrecks, beatings, imprisonments. Consider this a story of my own shipwrecks, adventures and heartaches, a trial by fire preparing me for a mission the natural me could never have accomplished. Like the Apostle Paul, my story is his story. I the shipwrecks had meaning. The closed doors, a, blessing, the heartaches and setbacks were character builders, preparing me to be a part of the greater story of God's plan of redemption for this world. I am an ordinary girl who has led an extraordinary life. Why would God call such an insignificant little girl from an insignificant little town to go to battle for him in the world's arena? As I write and you listen, maybe we can figure it out together.
God's Velvet Hammer by Sandy Rios is available on Amazon and Audible or anywhere books are sold.
Sandy Rios Well, I told you I had an announcement at the end of the show, and this is the announcement. next week, November 9th, that week will be my last week with you, on this podcast. And I'm not going anywhere else. I'm just gonna. It's Time M. I think that I need to stop doing what I'm doing. I've been doing it for. Since the early 90s. And, things change, you know, with your life and your health and all of that. And so, this is not easy for me, I have to tell you, because I love, I love doing this. I just believe that God has called me to do this. But some things have happened that have made it really hard for me to do it each morning for you. And I think it's time that I pull out and let someone else, have this platform and, and enjoy my husband for the remaining years that I have, which are not that many years. So I'd like to maybe just take care of my health too. So that's the reason. And we will, do a final show. Bruce is going to join me and we're going to just have a lot of fun. We're going to talk about, reminisce and all kinds of things. And we'll do that next week, the last week. That will be the week of November 9th. So, a couple of things I would really love to hear from you. It would be so special to hear, you know, just email from you. We don't. We haven't done that in a long time because I've even stopped asking because there's so much news and I apologize for that. So maybe this would be a good time and it's our way of communicating. Be great for me to hear from you. I, know a lot of you because you've corresponded with me through the years, but there are so many I haven't. I'm not asking every single one of you because Adam might have trouble keeping up with that. But, Sandyafa.net sandya f a.net is the, email address. Sandyfa.net and also we have a phone system where you can call in directly to the line. They'll give you the, the, the voice will give you prompts on how to record. And you could just say a word. I mean, it doesn't, does not. Not a long speech, but just a few words that you'd like to say. And you could do that by calling 662-821-2040. That's 662-821-20420. A couple of other practical things. We're going to be putting my albums. I have three albums and we're going to put them on YouTube. just. And I wish I'd done that 10 years ago, but I haven't. They're not available anywhere, in case you wondered. Just I'm not a very good businesswoman. But there they will be put on YouTube and of course they'll be free, but you can hear them and listen. I think you would enjoy it. And we'll be playing some of the music in the last few days here that you can get a taste of whether, you think you'd like some of that. also my book, we've been doing these spots for the book, and that's the reason, because since I'm saying goodbye to you, I wanted to remind you that God's Velvet Hammer is available at Amazon and other places where books are sold. It's also on audio, which is a great way to listen to a book, I think. I love listening to audiobooks. So, with that I want to introduce somebody. It's very, become very special to me. I have been working at American Family Association, American Family Radio for, I believe, 13 years, on the radio for 10. And now with the podcast for 13. And the, the man that's responsible for that for that is Tim Wildmon, who is the president of, the American Family association, and he joins me now just to chat about what's happened this last 13 years. Tim, good morning. Thanks for joining me.
Tim Wildmon Good morning, Sandy. And, I want all of your podcast listeners to know that I did my best to try to talk you out of what you're doing here, but to no avail. And as you said, to me, you know, there just comes a time when you need to quit and not quit, like, get out of the fight, because you'll be in the fight for righteousness, you know, till you draw your last breath. But I'm talking about just the time and effort and energy it takes to, you know, produce a podcast like this, twice a week. And, so anyway, I just wanted folks to know that, I'm, I'm as sad as they are about you giving up this, this podcast, but, you know, it, the old expression, it is what it is and we will miss you. But, you know, I've said and we talked that, you know, you're going to come on Time to Time with us on the today's issue show. Yeah. So, I love that we can, we can look forward to that.
Sandy Rios And I, I still, I, I plan to stay plugged in. I, I still do my meetings in D.C. and have the best information, really. and I, I do, I'm still on X, but I don't participate much because I've been too busy doing this. So I'M Perhaps I'll step things up. It's. It's, at Sandy Rios Tweet, and we don't say tweet much anymore, but at Sandy Rios Tweet, that's my, They call it the handle on Twitter. And I do recommend that you guys go to Twitter. not for. Not just for me, but that is for me. To me, one of the best sources of information anywhere. And you, you can't. Not every. Everything's true, but most of it is. A lot of people really do give you great information. So at Sandy, Rio's tweet is mine. So, Tim, I want to. I want to ask you a question. Okay. What made you. I've never asked you this. What made you decide to call me that morning and ask me to join? Take the morning show me afr talk.
Tim Wildmon Has that. Has that been 13 years ago already?
Sandy Rios I think so. I mean, I was 10 on the morning show and then three. Three on the podcast.
Sandy Rios We're on the podcast. Yeah.
Tim Wildmon So, you know, I saw you on TV on the Bill O'Reilly show, and, that was on the Fox News. That was very, very popular show at that time. I remember we would watch it regularly. Allison and I would. And we, had an opening. I knew. I'm trying to hearken back and think back correctly. I think I knew that you were flustered on that interview because Bill O'Reilly wouldn't, let you talk. You know.
Sandy Rios Yes.
Tim Wildmon I forgot what exactly the subject matter was, but he wasn't letting you talk.
Sandy Rios Let me tell you what it was. Ellen DeGeneres. They wanted her to be the spokeswoman for pennies. And, so Bill. I knew Bill well because I worked for Fox, and he wanted me to talk about it because I was the one person that spoke that would say that homosexuality was not healthy, not the best thing. So, it was on that. Yeah, so
Tim Wildmon that's what it was. So, yeah, because we took a stand to American Family Association. I think you may have been on the radio. You may have been on Bill O'Reilly. So basically standing up for us, what we were saying, too. But we were the only group. But the. The problem. The. We thought of all the people in the country for. To be a spokesperson for a major retail corporation. Somebody who was an open lesbian,
Sandy Rios and an
Sandy Rios activist and an act. Not just. And she was an activist,
Tim Wildmon a Christian hater, basically. That's right. So anyway, so I remember watching you do the interview. Back to your original question on why did we connect? for your radio show on American Family Radio. I think we had an opening. For some reason, somebody was leaving or quitting or. We just had an opening on American Family Radio in the morning. And, I can't say that God spoke to me, but, I mean, I guess in retrospect, I guess the Lord was. The Lord was, actually. And when I saw that the Lord was prompting me to call you, I knew you and dad, had known each other for a long time. My dad, Don Wildmon, y' all worked together, on many, many issues when you were at the Concern Women for America organization. And. And even after that. And so, I said, well, Sandy, I. I know has experience on radio, so I'll just call you. I was calling to encourage you, you know, after what happened with Bill O'Reilly that night before. And then also I offered you that position hosting our morning show on American Family Radio. And you. You said yes, and we started working together, and your show was a hit, you know, on, on our network. And. And, the rest, as they say, is history. I don't know why you said yes, but you said yes.
Sandy Rios Well, no, you know what? I didn't say yes at first because I thought, I don't want to get up in the morning every morning so early. And that's what I said to Bruce. And he said. He just. He said, you have to do it, Sandy. He said, you have to get back on radio. And he just, He pushed me. That's what happened. I remember you said you.
Tim Wildmon I remember you said, well, we will have no live video cameras.
Sandy Rios That's right. I said, I won't be on video.
Tim Wildmon I'm not putting makeup on and fixing my hair and stuff that early in the morning. Every day.
Sandy Rios Yeah, every day, five days a week. but I should back up and tell him the part that, you know, and that was my point of view on that particular thing that happened, because I think it's important him. I had been with Fox for a long time. I've been on Bill's show a number of times, and I think most people will remember that Bill is a bit of a verbal bully. I actually liked him. We had a nice relationship. He
Tim Wildmon was good on most things.
Sandy Rios Yeah, but he liked to talk over his guests.
Sandy Rios Yes, he did.
Sandy Rios And so. So. But he was worried that I was going to say something inappropriate about Ellen DeGeneres. Right. And it's so goofy. And so he kept saying to me, now, don't. Don't, you know, don't hate on gays. Don't don't say don't bash. Don't bash. Was he saying
Tim Wildmon that on the radio or off? no, no,
Sandy Rios no, to me personally.
Tim Wildmon Off the air
Sandy Rios before. Yeah. Not. Yeah, he was very concerned. In fact, right before I went on the air, he spoke in my headset.
Sandy Rios That's what I'm saying. Yeah.
Sandy Rios Now, Sandy, don't. You know. And so you have to know that I was always prayerful, no matter what the topic, because I was. No, I was. You know, I did every topic from politics to news to everything. But, especially these topics. I really prayed. I always pray that I will represent faithfully the God that I serve. Right. His main name may not come up in the conversations, but there are you represented by your manner, by, you know, you teach people in other ways. So I knew what I was gonna say about Ellen, and it wouldn't have. It would have made. Helped them understand why we were objecting. And so every time I started to say something, he would interrupt me. It was like being blocked, you know, on the football field. And I. And they say, and then now, Sandy, blah, blah, blah. and so I never, ever got to explain. The objection, which is what we touched on, is that she is not just a woman who happens to be gay. She is an activist in the movement. And, that's very different. And so I never got to say it. And, when I left the studio, Bruce was down in the car waiting for me. And I just. I started crying, actually. I said, bruce, I don't. I have been on television and radio. I'm not just doing this because I want to be on tv. I said, I have a mission. I want to help people understand this stuff. And if I can't talk, then what am I doing? Why am I doing this? And, so that was the conversation. And the very next morning, you called me. You called me m. And you said, yeah, that's how it happened. That
Tim Wildmon wasn't coincidence then. No, it wasn't coincidence. It was God. God was prompting me. And then God prompted you and Bruce. and then we began the radio run for 10 years. Yeah, absolutely.
Sandy Rios And, you know, here's the funny thing, Tim, you remember, this is a funny side. I, Let's see. That was spring, I think, or maybe fall, I can't recall, but I had just had both of my hips replaced. Both of them. And we were living in Washington, D.C. and I could barely, you know, getting up in the dark. When I started working for you, I was getting up in the dark, trying to get dressed when I could hardly. I would try to get my socks on in the dark because it's five o' clock in the morning and Bruce is sleeping. And that's what I did for several months till I got off, you know, could actually walk. Yeah. And ah, when I came to your offices to be, for the, you know, to get to know the staff, I came in in a. With a walker. so that's. It's like. Hello. Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, so that was just the funny part. But we, it worked out. Isn't that something? Who would ever think that would work out? No,
Tim Wildmon absolutely. And you know, let me ask you this. Interviewing, you here. What was it that I know that Bruce said you need to go back on radio? Is that because just the importance of the topics and issues you were going to be discussing he felt was needed to be communicated to to a lot of people. I mean, what was.
Sandy Rios Well, that was part of it. He, you know, he didn't when we got married. We've been married now almost 18 years, which is kind of amazing. but we were. Bruce was. Didn't know my world at all. And he didn't. You know. And when he first I went back to the radio in Chicago after I left cwa, that's when he first heard me and he just thought was my biggest fan. He just felt I was gifted and I was a good communicator and yes. And things were very important and he felt that was a skill that God had given me that I needed to use. And the reason, the only reason I didn't, I know I sound like I a lazy person. I'm really not. But I had done, you know, drive town shows for three hours. I know what it takes. And when, you asked me to come back or to come to American Family AFR talk, I thought I know what I'm taking on. You know, I know how much work this is going to be and that's going to be real early in the morning and do I really want to do that? but, but Bruce was right. I mean this is how our, our spouses, this is how God works. You know, he uses our wives and our husbands to speak to us for him. And he was right. You know, I had silly, selfish reasons for not doing it. But did. God did call me Tim. And I just I needed to, I needed to respond and I did. And it was a great experience. you know, I had always done my shows. Let's see. I have to say this the right way I did a lot of things for non believing audiences. I mean, obviously some people in any audience are Christians, but I geared my conversation to people who didn't believe, assuming they didn't. And I did that even on radio in Chicago. And I loved it. It was like evangelistic radio. not preaching, but just talking about God as it was natural. Some horrible thing happens, you know, bringing people perspective, just praying, you know, occasionally. I didn't do that a lot because it wasn't. That's Christian radio. And I did more of a secular radio, definitely centered on Christ, if that makes any sense at all. It was a model I don't think I'd ever heard. And it worked. some people do that, but then they, they kind of hide the spiritual part that they don't, they don't want to mention Jesus name or whatever they think they have to do and to appeal to a secular audience. But I found that that's just not true. I had one time, I think I told you, I had an undercover, guy, and under, I gotta say this right, a gentleman who was doing a job at a massage parlor. Not that kind of a job, but he was, undercover investigating this. And he calls me from the massage parlor, he's listening. And, I had, you know, I had politicians all over Chicago and Illinois listening and I had those kind of conversations where we talked about everything from racism to just everything. And then when I came to American Family Radio, Tim, I had started way back on Moody Radio, not with my own show, but co hosting with the coast, who'd been on there forever. He taught me so much. that's a whole story of a different kind. But I know Christian radio. I listened to Moody for years, as I was raising my children. And so, but that's not what I feel God called me to do when I was a singer, a Christian singer. I always loved singing for secular audiences because the Christians knew everything. They knew it all. And I wanted my music to pull in people that didn't know. So I feel the same way about radio. That was kind of my heart for that kind of. I was, like, called to the Gentiles, seriously. So when I moved to American Family Radio, I wasn't sure how that was going to work. But honestly, Tim, it was a whole new mission because I realized that I knew, you know, I'd been in the. I don't know how to say this, but I've been in the center of D.C. and all kinds of things and had a lot of knowledge A lot of contacts. and God gave me understanding on some things. and I think Christians then needed a source of information because it was getting so complicated in this country. So complicated. And I felt like then I found that my mission was really to try to explain this. not that I could possibly explain everything, but I could interpret it by knowing other things that people wouldn't know and also just seeing God's hand in it all. And I think that's exactly what happened. And I fell in love with my audience. And I, I miss the radio because I, you know, can't hear from them now, but I haven't been able to for the last year, the last three years. But, so I found the. The American family Radio audience had absolute delight. And one thing that just blew my ears back, Tim, was how they never felt. Failed to give money at Charathon. They always gave more. They gave more. And that. That minister to me. I thought, you know, I've done, all kinds of work for organizations trying to raise money through the years. And, you know, you have to do all, you know, all these things. Cajole, you know, shame. I don't do that, actually. I'm not a manipulator, but that's the. That's kind of thing that happens. And I couldn't believe that. I feel like if you just open the phone lines, they would give, you know, they didn't need. Didn't need any of that manipulation. They didn't need it. And, so that I. And then also then I have to say I. I really, really grew to love you and Allison and your family. And, that's been a great benefit and I'm doing all the talking here, Tim, but I also.
Tim Wildmon It's your podcast.
Sandy Rios I know, but, one thing that you have done that I just appreciate. So many of the things I have experienced in the last 13 years have been because you're of your support. Like, I've gone to all. To all of these places. The inaugural, twice. and, I just went to the UN a couple of weeks ago. That was. You pay for that. You helped me with those things. And I could not have those experiences without, your generosity. Well, so I want to say that. Thank you for that. Thank you so much. You've made me a better hostess. Be your host. Hostess, yes. because of those experiences.
Tim Wildmon Well, glad to do it. And you always represent us really, really well. I know. Wherever you go, Sandy, because you, you know, you understand the culture war that's going on, the spiritual battle that's going on across the country and across the world, quite frankly. And we face the intensity of it now, you, know as much as we ever have, and it's increasing. And you know, we. We both of our. Well, everybody listening to us right now loves America and we want to see it preserved. Our freedoms, our way of life for our children and our. Our grandchildren, our posterity. And. And in order to do that, just like it's been down through history, we have to fight for what's right, you know, and we have to get up every day. And that's what you do with the podcast now, what you did with the radio show. Get up and tell listeners how they can be salt, how they can be light, how we can impact the culture. Because the other side's not laying down back. They're getting even more aggressive, these Democrats socialists out there now that, you know, are threatening the takeover. The Democrat Party. I know some would say, well, they've always been Democrat socialists. Well, they. They haven't been quite as aggressive as this new breed of Democrat socialists out there, which are Christian haters, quite frankly. And they're pretty open about it in many ways. So we got a whole new fight coming up, you know, in the next. In the next few years, against, against, you know, the newest, I guess you could say face of, anti Christian, people. And anti SEM, Anti Semitic as well.
Sandy Rios Yeah, it's pretty dangerous times. You can believe that. When it's going to be real hard for me not to have this platform. but I. It's a hard decision. In fact, I nearly changed my mind, a couple of weeks ago. We were at a meeting that you sponsored me to go, and it's a lot of people in the movement and, I had such an incredible experience there, and people were sometimes. I don't know how to say this. A lot of affirmation, I would say. People actually ask me what I think, and that does happen. And these are people that already know what they, you know, they know a lot, a lot of affirmation. I thought I told Bruce, I said bruce, I just. I just don't know. This, this is such a strong pull and there is a. You know, the battle is so great. But honestly, Tim, I just prayed about it and I finally. I just. I know that when we, make a decision, we pray about it and we really feel that God is leading us because, then we don't change our mind. We aren't fickle. We don't, you know, Sway with the wind. We stick with that decision that we made after Pray, you know, many prayers. And so, I have to do what I said I was going to do, but it is hard for me. what was I going to say? Oh, I'm just going to ask you a practical. Oh, I know what I want to say. What I really want to say is this. One of the adjustments for me when I came to American Family Radio was, I was used to a lot, just. I don't know how to say. I had a big staff, and they did a lot of things that I did. And so when I came to. You guys don't have that same budget. You are fueled by listener gifts. So when you're on a big radio station and they have commercials and all of this, they have a lot more money to spend. And so that was a shock to me because then, of course, there was a lot more work for me to do. Yeah. You were
Tim Wildmon scheduling your own guest, I guess, weren't you?
Sandy Rios Yeah, yeah. And your own. And the clips and everything. Yeah, yeah.
Tim Wildmon Now, we did get you some help there
Sandy Rios later. Well, that's what I'm leading to. That's what I'm leading to. So, Adam. Adam. Yeah. I think Adam's been working for me for 10 years. Is that right, Adam?
Adam Sudeth I believe so.
Sandy Rios Adam Sudeth. And, Adam's been the, power behind me. And it's funny, when we first started working together, I was so crabby with him because I was trying to adjust to this new reality that, hey, I have to do all this stuff. and it's hard. It did. It took took a lot of hours. And Adam has grown so much. He's so good at what he does now. He edits these shows. He does a masterful job, and he helps me think through things. And I. I just. I really. And we've gotten to know him and Amy and his kids, and that's been a blessing, too. So, I should just say publicly. Publicly, Adam, thank you. You've really enriched my life, you and Amy and your little ones. So thank you.
Adam Sudeth Oh, it was my pleasure not to take the chick fil A. It literally was my pleasure.
Tim Wildmon Oh, this was to say chick fil A when you go through. Right. My pleasure. Yes,
Speaker AI our pleasure. Oh.
Sandy Rios Oh, yeah,
Tim Wildmon yeah. That's what he was referring to. He's borrowing from chick fil A. Yeah.
Sandy Rios Very good. Yeah. Well, there's a lot more I could say. And when, Bruce. Bruce and I will do the final show, and we're gonna just go back in time and talk, about a lot of things. Some funny and some of the things I've covered through the years. like the Jon Wayne Gacy. Jon Wayne Gacy himself is mass murderer in Chicago. And I've done a lot of things through the years. It's been a lot of years. So I. Sometimes I can't even remember the really incredible people I've interviewed. Tim. If I had to make a list, it would be short because I couldn't remember. You know, I interviewed, Winston Churchill's niece, which was wonderful. she, Celia Sands was her name. And, I always remember because she told me on a commercial break, I asked her this question. Why is it your uncle, he talked about God and he actually quoted some scriptures. And, he went to a worship service with Franklin Roosevelt on a ship in the middle of the ocean, in the middle of the war. Where does this come from? And she told me that he had a nanny, that was part of the free church. They called it the Free Church in England. That was not part of the established Church of England. And she taught him. She taught him about Jesus and all of this. And I don't think that's ever been printed anywhere. It certainly wasn't in her book. But that's the kinds of insights, you know, a Spanish countess, became my friend, and that's another story. Bruce and I will talk about that stuff. Sure. next week when we do the final show. But it's been really rich. It has been been. It has been really rich. And I just thank God for the privilege of the things he's asked me to do. And I thank God for you, Tim, too.
Tim Wildmon Well, appreciate it, Sandy. We very much, you know, enjoy these 13 years of podcasting and early morning radio programming where keep people up to speed on what's happening in our country and, doing it all through a biblical worldview lens. That's, you know, that's what distinguishes what we do here from a lot of other radio, is that we take a look not only at what's happening, current events and so forth, but also putting them in the proper framework, by looking at them through, as I say, a Christian worldview lens. And we're going to keep doing that. You know, we're going to keep doing that. And, you know, I'm 63 now. I don't know how many more years I'll be here. I'm like, you're, you know, you're a little bit down, further down the road than
Sandy Rios I am, but
Sandy Rios hey, wait a minute, wait a minute.
Tim Wildmon I said a little bit.
Tim Wildmon Just slightly down the road.
Sandy Rios No, I'm definitely down the road.
Tim Wildmon Yeah. I was telling people the other day, we were. I was on a bus of, and most of people on there were gray hairs. That's what I, you know, they were, they were. I said, I'm seeing a lot of people out here on this bus that are definitely in the fourth quarter talking about a game analogy, fourth quarter of life. And that's okay, though. You know, you move down, like life's road and, you have all kind of, experiences. But. But, our experience with you, Sandy, has been wonderful, and Bruce, to getting to know him. And, so we continued the fight in a different way. And, as I say, you, your voice will be on with us on today's issues from time to time, so folks will still be able to hear from you and what you think and what you, know and what you've learned. I know that's one of the reasons I heard somebody say one time I listened to Sandy, so I can get the intel on what's going on in our country, the behind the scenes, a lot of it. Because that's, you know, because of all the context you have and all the people you talk to and have known over the years, you were able to sort of have an insider's view of what's happening in politics and government and current events. So, anyway, it's been a delight to have you on. Sorry you're, you know, you're moving, away from the podcast. But certainly we understand, as they say, all good things must end. And, and this is one of them.
Sandy Rios Yeah. Thank you, Tim. Thank you so much. Absolutely. For everything. And, yeah, please, let's stay in touch. And I'd love to be on, today's issues as often as you ask me. So. All right. Thank
Tim Wildmon you. We'll remember that. Okay.
Sandy Rios Okay. All right. Thank you, Tim Wyoming, president of American Family Association. Thank you, Tim. So that's, that's my temporary goodbye. We'll have a final show next week, and it's going to be fun. Bruce and I are going to talk and, we're kind of. I hope it'll be fun. We're going to track my long life together on radio and television and all the other things, and, we'll just have some fun. We don't have it all laid out and planned, but. But I will be playing some of my music like I started today with He Is Able and, this next song and it's the last thing of the show today is called Unto the King. And you might remember it, I think it was a praise song in the 90s. But, the memory that I have of it is that it was the Democratic Convention in Chicago in 1994, I think. and, we had set up a stage. Conservatives, pro lifers. It was a big stage, like on a truck. And I was singing, I think maybe hosting. And we ended that particular program with me singing this song. The reason I mention this is because we were right there by the Democratic convention. There was a fence, but they could hear us because the loudspeakers were very loud. And, I'll never forget that because it was such a message of the omnipotence of the Almighty God. And, that's. That's what we ended with. And so I just thought it would be. We could end the show today with that. This is Unto the King,
Abdul Rahman Mohammad Said My name is abdul rahman mohammed sayyid, And I am so proud and honored to stand here as your senator elect from the great state of Michigan.

This is Unto the King,
In this episode, Sandy Rios and her husband, Bruce, reflect on a disappointing election result and consider what it could mean for the country. They discuss voter turnout, Republican leadership, the war with Iran, and the prospect of partisan investigations, while sharing their concerns about the direction of American politics and culture. Sandy also offers a faith-centered perspective, urging listeners to pray, hold fast to their beliefs, and find strength in God during uncertain times. The episode also includes a personal announcement: after years of broadcasting, Sandy will soon leave the podcast. She looks back on her work in radio and public life, thanks listeners and colleagues, and previews a final episode with Bruce.
