Kathi: Hi, I'm Kathi from Virginia. Since I've begun listening to American Family Radio for quite some time now, but very consistently now, each day, it's been truly a blessing to my life and just really filled me with so much overwhelming love and knowledge and information about our Lord and God. And I'm just thankful and I praise him every day for all those he's using to, reach out to the world for his kingdom, for being able to receive their salvation. I thank God for American Family Radio. I truly do believe they are meant to be here for all of us to come to the Lord.
Sandy Rios: All right, well, why did I play that? because today we're going to be talking about raising money to help American Family Radio stay on the air and continue to grow and have the impact it's had through the years. It's been my pleasure to be with American Family Radio for probably, I'm thinking maybe three, 13 years now, something like that. Ah, and so 10 years, 10, ah, and a half, I think, doing the morning show and then another two or three. I've lost count, doing a, ah, podcast with you. And so I, want you to know more about. I know a lot of you are new listeners and you don't know much about American Family association, because you just listen to me and I don't often talk about the nuts and bolts. So today we're going to be talking about that. You won't be bored. It's the. There's a lot of great stuff to say about this and we will ask for your help because we are listener supported, literally. We don't take federal funds, we don't get big grants. it's just people like you who send in a check for $30 or $30 a month if you like, or whatever. That's how we do what we do. And, it started that way. It started in the, Don Wildmon's garage a number of years ago when he was watching, just how badly things had turned on television. His kids were small and, and he was a Methodist pastor. Brilliant guy. You probably heard him. if you listen to American Family Radio, you've heard his voice. He sounds very Mississippi. But he was just a brilliant man. And the way I, interestingly enough, when I was president of CWA in Washington D.C. don was of course, the president of American Family Association. And, our lives, crossed, of course, because we are on a common purpose, common mission. And we formed a group called the Arlington Group. And that was Don Wildmon and I that did that. And they named it the Arlington Group because it was in my. My building in Arlington, Virginia, in the beautiful, conference, room. That's where we used to meet. And it was Dr. Dobson and all the major leaders of Christian organizations at that time. And so not just like a breath or just a pause after we started and had the first meeting, the Lawrence vs Texas decision happened in Texas. And that meant that that was the beginning of the fight for gay marriage, by the left, by the homosexual activists. And don't ask me to explain that, but that's exactly what that meant. And our complete attention turned to fighting homosexual marriage. And, so we fought. We really fought. And I won't get stopped on that right now. I've talked about it before, but that's how I got to know Don Wildmon. We became very good friends in that fight. And it was a hard one, really hard. When I always say, when I left Concerned Women for America, I left, some blood on the floor on that fight. but, Don and I got to know each other. And then, of course, in the years ensuing after I left cwa and, Don got very, very ill, just terribly ill, and was not able to function, for many years. And Tim Wildmon became the president. And so that was lovely, but still didn't change my life because I was doing other things. I was working for Fox. I was doing other stuff. And so the next thing that I want to tell you is that. And you've heard perhaps me tell this story. I don't know. I was on with Bill O'Reilly, talking about. It was the day or the week that Ellen DeGeneres was appointed to be spokesman for Penney's. JC Penney's was a family company. They'd been a fan. Maybe you don't even know that. They were like Sears. They were like American apple pie, J.C. penney. And so, I was to go on Bill's show and talk about why it wasn't a good thing to appoint Ellen DeGeneres, who was a lesbian woman, to be the spokesperson. And of course, what I wanted to say, on his show was that, the fact it wasn't just that Ellen was lesbian, it was that she was an activist actively supporting, you know, all kinds of rights for. For homosexuals and lesbians and also gay marriage. And so at that time, that was a little bit too much for a family company called J.C. penney and too much for their customers. And so that's what I was, trying to say. And of course, she was the sweetheart of America. Then she started her talk show. Everyone loved Ellen. And so Bill was worried sick that I was going to say something bad about Ellen. And he reminded me of this constantly. In fact, just before I went on the air, he, in my headset, because I was not in the studio with him, he said, now, Sandy, don't do any gay bashing. I said, fred, you know, I. Do I ever do gay bashing? I didn't say that to him, but I'm. That is not. I never do that. That's not my style. I'm not trying to bash. I'm trying to talk about when I discuss that topic. God's way is a better way. It's a better way. And, not that, but Bill was so worried about me saying anything bad that he interrupted me. Much worse than normal. You know how Bill was when he was on. He would interrupt all of his guests. And I've been on with him many times, but this was the worst. I mean, I just. I opened my mouth and he'd block me, like on the, football field, I think. And so I never really got to say anything meaningful. And I was going to reason with my audience and reason with pennies, but I never really got to do that. So when the interview was over, I was very upset. And, Bruce was waiting in the car for me. And I went down and I said, bruce, why. Why am I doing this? Why? I never got to say anything of any import. I never got to really talk about the meat of this and why I object and why people should object and why J.C. penney should object. I never got to say that. And I just. I actually started to cry. I said, I don't. I am not doing television because I want to be famous. I've had enough attention. I don't. I'm not doing it for that purpose. I want to talk to people. I want to make the case on, these issues. And if I can't do that, then this is just worthless. And at the time, I was working for Fox as a contributor, so that's that. So the very next morning. The very next morning, the very next morning, my phone rang. And it was Tim Wildmon, Don's son, who had taken over the ministry. The president, who I just going to be talking to on the program today. Sandy, we have an opening for our morning show. and I would really love for you to be the host. Would you consider doing that? And it was just, kind of shocking. The timing was shocking. But of course I know how God Works. And I hung up from talking to him. And I remember saying to Bruce, bruce, I don't want to do a morning program. You know, I used to do afternoon, afternoons, drive time, not the morning. They seem to get up early. Oh, I don't want to do an early morning radio show. And my husband, my very wise husband, said, sandy, you have to get back on the air. People need to hear you. You have to get back on the air. And so, with great reluctance about the time, I accepted the job with the American F. With American Family Radio. And that was. I was on the morning show for 10 years after that and met so many of you in various ways at events, through your email, through our conversations, by phone. And, you actually became a great blessing to me. I can't even tell you. I used to do Ready. That was a little more secular. Not me. I wasn't secular, but the format was. And so I was constantly fighting. I was in the battle and making the case. And here I had then suddenly all these listeners who, many of them were deep believers in Christ, understanding much of what I was trying to teach. But this time, the difference was that I was able. I believe God changed my calling. I was able because of my experience in D.C. and all the work I'd done in politics and news to help Christians understand through the eyes of scripture and otherwise, what was happening and how we needed to respond. It was a whole new. A whole new approach to what I had been doing for many years. And it was God. There's no question about that being God. And that was my entree to American Family Radio. So today is the Sharathon. And every Sharathon I've done in the morning show. I don't do it quite the same way because it's a podcast now, but the audience for American Family Radio never, ever, ever didn't make the goal. You didn't need to beg. I didn't need to beg. I didn't need to, you know, bargain barter, you know, try to trick whatever you m. People might do on radio. they just gave, and they always gave more than we ask. And, and so it just. It was stunning to me, and it was a blessing. And I knew God's hand was on American Family Radio. So that's how it all started. I kind of wanted to give you that today, but today what we're going to do is Tim is going to join me, and we're going to be talking a little bit more about the ministries of the. Of American Family association and Fred Jackson, the head of our news department, who's a good friend, is going to join me and we're going to be talking about the news of the day. So you are going to get some news, but you're going to get some stories about American Family Association. and before we get on with that, it's amazing to me how successful the pro abortion faction in this country has become. It's like a resurgence. We thought we had made great gains in that area, and we did. Pro lifers made great gains by getting pictures of babies, three, d ultrasound and all of that. And just by persuading and just really, I always say, God's way of talking about it. And it worked. And people began to change their mind. And that's why the Congress, all congressmen and Republican parties started to be pro life even. Even if they didn't mean it. They ran it. They were pro life. We really did move the needle on believing that life was sacred. But something has changed over the last few years, I guess, because, the enemy, meaning Satan himself, never stops. He never stops. He never stops. And he drills away at the things that he wants. You see that personified in the left here. They never quit. And so we are moving in a very dangerous direction. And now we've even eliminated doctors, we've, eliminated abortion clinics. And now girls can just order the pill online that kills the baby and aborts it. But there is a counter to that, and that's preborn, of course. Preborn. Their way of countering it is to show girls, Women, these 3D images of their babies. And once they see that baby, you know, the thumb sucking, the kicking, you know, all of that, and they see that little person moving around, and sometimes you can even see the facial features. Something like 70% of them choose to not take the life of their baby. So it is really, a powerful way to, to stop abortion. And it's working. It's working. As we chisel away at all of this. It's working. If you would like to give to PreBorn, it's $28 for one ultrasound. Just go to preborn.com Sandy, that's preborn.com Sandy. And make your most generous donation. Well, all right. Fasten your seat belts and remember the phone number as you listen. It's 1881-877616-22396. That's 877-6-16-2396. We're going to give you some great information on today's edition of Sandy Rios. 24, 7. From American Family Radio, Sandy Rios. We are not called to be nice. We are often called to be confrontational. And here with me in D.C. is Fox News contributor Sandy Rios. I think the most important thing we need to demonstrate to our children is genuineness, that we actually believe what we say we believe. Longtime Fox News contributor Sandy Rios. Thanks very much for being with us.
Sandy Rios: Seek justice. Not social justice, but God's justice, what's right and what's wrong. Sandy Rios is with the American Family Association, a pro life radio talk show host.
Sandy Rios: We've got to say this is the line. Life is sacred. Director of Governmental affairs for the American Family Association. Step up. Step.
Sandy Rios: Speak up. Say something. Do something.
Debbie: Hi, this is Debbie from Ohio. I listened to WJJR, Delaware. I started listening to AFR back in 2014, and as I listened and realized how great AFR is, I felt that with my husband, we decided it was important enough to help an organization like yours. Afa and, also listening to AFR weaned me off of secular radio, and I was thankful for that. And I'm thankful that God has blessed your organization and that it exists for him and what you provide for the listeners. there's so many programs, that help me, and I feel like I get the biblical worldview and I can trust what I hear. It would take me about five minutes to tell you everybody I listen to and what I like about it. But I will say that Sandy Rios was the first person that I heard her program and now continue with her podcast. She happens to be my favorite, but I love you all, so best wishes for a successful share a thon. God bless. Love you all. Goodbye for now.
Sandy Rios: All right. Thank you. Deb. That was so nice. And that was a nice surprise, Adam pulling that clip. Thank you. That was very sweet. I never get to talk to listeners anymore or hear from them, hardly ever, except maybe if you email, because I don't ask for that very much. It's my fault. but I miss live radio for that purpose. Nevertheless. This is Sandy Rios, 24 7, Sandy Rio speaking to you. And this is American Family Radio's annual share a thon. the theme for this year is Stand Firm. And I always love they pick a beautiful verse. And this year it's from 1st Corinthians 16:13 through 14. Be on your guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. Do everything in love. Of course, that's a great balance. I think sometimes in our culture, we have been so awash, with love. God is love. Be Loving, be, you know, that we leave out, the part of God that brings righteous judgment and that, we have to be a people of righteousness, and we have to be firm. And sometimes we have to fight. And that's the part we leave out. But we do it in love. All right, well, I have a special guest this morning. I have a special guest, and his name is Tim Wildmon. He's the president of the American Family Association. He's the one man who hired me 12 years ago, something like that. And, has been a good friend since then, besides being my. My boss. And he's joining me in studio. Good morning, Tim.
Tim Wildmon: Hey, good morning, Sandy. Good to be with you. Wasn't that a great call from our, That was Deb in Delaware. no, she lives in Ohio. She listens to the Delaware, Ohio station. That's the name of the town where our tower is. But that was a wonderful call. We appreciate hearing from her and all our listeners.
Sandy Rios: Yeah. You know, excuse me. It always surprises me how many people are listening from, Also from different places. Tim. I just. You just can't ever. It's always a surprise. I used to have an Irish listener, and he would contact me all the time from Ireland and talk about how I was listening, and that was a lot of fun. but listeners are the lifeblood of American family radio. And I think I'll just say this, Tim. one of the things that American family radio does masterfully, and I don't think there's another Christian radio station on the dial or network that does what AFR does, and that is a blending of news, and politics and faith always. Faith first, always. Jesus first. But the real world. Jesus in the real world. And I love that. So that's why we were a natural fit. All right, so this is our share a thon. And before I start jabbering and talking to Tim here, the idea, of course, we are supported by listeners. we don't get big, big grants from, the government. And I'm so grateful that you don't, Tim. I, just think that's poison. That's a poison pill for.
Tim Wildmon: Yeah, we wouldn't take them if they were available. Because if you take government money like National Public Radio does, of course they wouldn't give to us anyway because we're a Christian radio network. But if you did that, you'd have strings attached and they would have control over you, like State, like they. Like most countries around the world. You know, the state, controls the message, and we wouldn't you know, we wouldn't go for that because our message, as you said, is from the Bible. It's, the message of Jesus Christ and the truth that's proclaimed in his Word. Amen. So we just, you know, we're not going to compromise on that. Like you don't compromise on your show in telling people the biblical, worldview truth.
Sandy Rios: You know, going back with that, Tim, when I was in D.C. the Bush administration started. Started. They developed a program where they were going to give money for the first time to Christian conservative groups.
Tim Wildmon: I remember that.
Sandy Rios: Which I think they thought that. I'm sure they thought that was going to. Well, of course, the idea was to counter what the left had been doing for such a long time. But you know, instinctively, as the president of Concerned Women for America, I just knew that's not going to work. That's not going to work. And it's not. It's not because, more than them control as much as them controlling the message, ministries get hooked on the money. And Tim, I've seen this happen. I won't name them right now, but I've seen it happen. A lot of, these global organizations that work overseas and have, they've just gone south and it happened. It started happening already when I was in D.C. it was. It just took. Didn't take much time. And you know, Franklin Graham and I became friends. And it's interesting to me, this is a topic that I think we must have discussed recently. I just read that Franklin has, Samaritan's Purse is refusing. Ah. tax dollars. They don't want anything.
Tim Wildmon: Yeah. Good for them.
Sandy Rios: Yeah. Yeah. So I, Yeah, I thought so too. I thought, good for you, Franklin. I just thought that was great.
Tim Wildmon: So we don't get, yeah, we don't get government, money either here at American Family Radio, nor would we take it if it were offered. And we don't have big corporations that support us. We're supported by our listeners and vast, majority of them are, you know, $30 or more a month, $50 a month, whatever people can afford. But, people believe in us and, that's our bread and butter right there supporting our ministry. That's why we have to do this twice a year. We do this three days in the spring, three days in the fall. We call them Share a Thons because we ask our listeners to share their, donations with us so we can, you know, keep going and growing, as I say, expanding our, you know, what's the. What was the Book out a few years ago. Expand your territory.
Sandy Rios: Oh, yeah, the prayer of Jabez.
Tim Wildmon: Prayer Jabez, yes, the prayer J Biz. Expand American family radio's reach across the country. That's what we want to do. By the way, we've, last year or so we bought new stations in Birmingham and Tuscaloosa, Alabama. We bought a new station in Des, Moines, Iowa. So we're, we're, you know, it's very expensive to buy radio stations, so we, you know, we can't add them every week, but we are keeping our eye on expanding, our, and really, Sandy, as you know, the, the, the podcasting now and the app, the AFR app, people listen to us. We, ah, have people, a lot of people in California who listen to us. We don't have any radio stations in California, but because of the app, the AFR app, it's been a game changer, as far as us being able to reach out across the country. And as you say, we have listeners internationally. Let me give the phone number and then we can talk about whatever you want to. obviously it's your podcast, so we'll talk about whatever you want to do.
Sandy Rios: Well, thank you, Tim. No, you know what? You're my boss. I'll talk about whatever you want to.
Tim Wildmon: Oh, we can suppose the way it's supposed to work. That's right. Let me give the phone number. Folks, we are asking for a financial donation to our ministry so that we can sustain what we do here. And as I say, we want to do more than sustain. We want to grow and reach more people for the Lord and more people with the truth, as Sandy proclaims all the time about what's happening in our country. And sometimes we talk about what's going on around the world, especially with Christians and the Christian community. But here's the phone number and I would just ask that you be as generous as you possibly can with your donation because every penny helps us here at American Family Radio. We, we, we have to have listener supporters or we don't have support at all. Here's the phone number to call us. 877-616-2396. Again, 877616, 2396 is the phone number. Now if you want to go on the Internet and make a donation, it's very simple and very secure. It's afr.net just that's American, family radio, afr.net afr.net you can go there and make a donation. And again, we appreciate Everybody who makes a gift, we know it's, sacrificially for a lot of folks. and so we understand that and we appreciate that. And we know that, you know, we're. We're not your local church. We encourage you to also support your local church. We always, you know, say, promote. Support your local church. But, we also ask beyond your local church that you would, see them, the importance of what we do here. Each and every day at American Family Radio, we are reaching people through radio, as I said, with the gospel of Jesus Christ, the saving knowledge of Christ, how the people can be born again and have eternal life, but also the truth about what's happening in our country, as Sandy tells you all the time, and how you can make a difference in that. Because there's only one America, folks. There's only one America. And we cannot, you know, for the sake of our children and our grandchildren, and we cannot give up the fight, because, as they say, the cliche is freedom is not free. And we know that's true. So, you know, our military fights, you know, with guns and weapons, and we fight as Christians, spiritual warfare here, to, defend our country and to keep our, freedoms that so many have fought and died for. And primarily the freedom to worship God and to proclaim the truth of his word. And, so that's what we're about here. Let me give the phone number one more time. Then, I'll give Sandy's podcast. Back to Sandy. Here's. Here's the phone number to call us eight at American Family Radio. 877-616-239, 687-76-162396. Thank you for listening, to Sandy's podcast, and thank you for supporting our sheriff on.
Sandy Rios: Yeah, amen to that. And so, Tim, I'm just reflecting because I think we should. I do find that. Because the podcast is different, you know, than being on the radio show. So I kind of knew who my audience was when I was on radio, but I am finding that there are just unusual pockets of people listening that I would never have thought of. And the reason I say that is because they don't really know all the things that regular AFR listeners know, as you know, what I'm talking about. and I'm usually talking about the news and not about the network and all the things that are happening. But I want to give people an idea of the scope of what American Family Radio is doing. so let's do it this way. Tim, how about you tell them the different things that America. I don't know if you want to keep it to radio or do you want. Let's talk about the kind of the whole. The host scope of American Family Association Radio is a huge part of it, but let's talk about the scope of the things that American Family association does.
Tim Wildmon: Okay, well, the American Family association is the parent ministry of American Family Radio and that in also the parent ministry of American Family Studios, American Family News, our magazine, the Stand. we, we do, we do, you know, we do with the podcasting shows that we have. American, Family Radio is, kind of the, I guess the main voice for us across the country. We have 160 plus stations that we own and operate. We, we have reach in like 38 states with those, plus the app, as I mentioned earlier. And, you know, our mission statement says American Family association, including American Family Radio, is to inform, equip and activate the Christian community to be engaged. And that's what we do here in American Family Radio. Well, you can't be properly engaged if you don't know what's going on. Right. How many Christians do we know? Raise your hand if you know somebody who is a brother and sister in the Lord, but you talk to them about what's going on in our country and they become an ostrich right before your eyes. Their heads are in. They don't.
Sandy Rios: I know a few people like that. Yeah, I think everybody, Everybody knows. I mean, it's really, really epidemic. You know, there's so few Christians who vote or pay attention. proportionately.
Tim Wildmon: They got, you know, I call them the Christian ostriches, you know, out there. And so we're. But. But we also know a lot of people, and a lot of people are listening to us right now on Sandy Rios, 24 7, who themselves were once an ostrich.
Sandy Rios: That's right.
Tim Wildmon: But. But listening to Sandy and American Family Radio, they took their sand, their head out of the sand and became aware of what's going on so that we can make a difference in our culture. You know, our lives are more than. Yes, our lives are individually every day, you know, the daily grind of living out the Christian life. But it's also the bigger picture about what's happening in our countries, and what's happening in the world, because we are, we are fighting against forces that are the enemies of God and the enemies of Jesus Christ. And we have to be aware of, of what they're doing and what they're up to. Because I said earlier there's only one America. And if we lose this country to socialism, to communism, there's now a threat of Islam with, We see. We, see what Islam is doing in, in Western Europe in particular. Well, that's coming to our shores, too, in Dallas, Texas.
Sandy Rios: Yeah.
Tim Wildmon: And in Michigan, some of the.
Sandy Rios: What's Michigan?
Tim Wildmon: I mean, that's. That is a real, threat, you know, maybe not imminent, but it's growing, and we need to be aware of that. So all sorts of things that are happening that we need to be aware of so that we can make a difference, and we can make a difference in government and politics and other ways. By the way, Fred Jackson just stepped in the room, too. Sandy.
Sandy Rios: Hello, Fred. Hello, Fred Jackson. Let me just say something before we transition to Fred, because I want to talk to him about the news.
Tim Wildmon: Yeah.
Sandy Rios: I want to just cap our discussion for that moment. Tim? Yeah, there was. I wish I had it. I've got it in my file cabinet here somewhere. But after the 2016 election, survey was done to see what organizations or entities had the most influence on what happened in 2016. And American family.
Tim Wildmon: Oh, yeah.
Sandy Rios: Radio was number three. Number four.
Tim Wildmon: Yeah, we were running there. I forget exactly. We were right behind Fox News in terms of, how many people we impacted and reached. And we were. I think George Barna did that research, if I remember correctly. Fred, is that right? Do you remember that?
Fred Jackson: Yes. Yeah.
Tim Wildmon: So, yeah, we were, you know, I was, quite frankly, I was a little bit surprised. I didn't know we were reaching that many people that a survey would show. And that was. That had to do with, how many. Who was able to get more Christians out to vote, what organization? Who were they hearing from? And we were listed, like, right near the top of that, which made me feel good, because that's what, you know, now we're not all about politics and elections, but they are important. you know, they. They do matter because laws that are passed or not passed affect how we live and affect our. Our lives as Christians. And we know that. We've talked about this before. There are people that want to shut us down. They're out there, and some of them are loud, and they want to shut down the message of Christians because they say it's hateful or it's, whatever they may say about us, but they don't, you know, they're. They're the enemies of God. And we are like one of their top organizations, that they, you know, would like to silence. So, yeah, we were proud in 16 because listen, I'm going to tell you something. If, you remember back the presidential, race, m. Most importantly at that time had come down to Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. You remember this? We all remember this.
Sandy Rios: No, no, wait, please explain. I don't remember.
Tim Wildmon: Well, well, I know you do. You're.
Tim Wildmon: But let me just tell you the significance of that, okay? Because, we encourage people, to get out and get as many people to go and vote. Sometimes you vote for somebody, at times you vote, sometimes you vote against somebody, and times you vote for both. Okay? So if you remember, Donald Trump, to his credit, had, reached out to the Christian community, involved a lot of Christian leaders. I know I went to NewSong York City and we met at the Marriott Hotel and I think Mike Huckabee and Ben Carson hosted an event within candidate Donald Trump. He was already the Republican nominee, but he was, you know, as I say, he wasn't from our world, so to speak. So he, but he knew the importance of Christians voting for him in the election. So he was making an intentional outreach to the Christian community. Donald Trump was at that time. But I remember, that we had that meeting and he, he said, I will select conservative pro life federal judges, he said, and including Supreme Court justices. He made that commitment that day in NewSong York City at this event I'm talking about. And there were thousands of people there, you know, Catholics and evangelicals and all sorts of groups and organizations and denominations represented there. But it was a massive voting block represented, including our group, American Family Association. We were there. And so, but, so what I'm saying is, had he not won, Donald Trump, not one, then Hillary Clinton would have got three Supreme Court justices. And you talk about a world of trouble we would be in today had she been allowed to pick those should have picked, picked very liberal, judges, and it would have been a disaster for our country and for the Christian community. So what I'm saying is, so you look back and you say, well, how did Donald Trump win? Well, there was a number of reasons why he won the election and he won narrowly. You remember that. It was like Indiana, let's see, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan. He picked off barely, but he did win them slightly. But, but it made all the world of difference in terms of appointing Supreme Court justices and federal judges. And, and a survey was done and say, why did Donald Trump win in 2016? And one of the primary reasons was the Christian community and who, who got The Christian M Community to come out and vote. American Family association and American Family Radio, among others. But we were listed right there near the top. Yeah. So we. That just. That's one big example of the impact we were able to have on elections.
Sandy Rios: Well, and I wanted to give people the scope because I saw you know, we're as you know Tim, I'm DC Centric when I work and a lot of my, my information, I have friends and I do meetings there. And so afa, they don't understand the reach and they just don't understand. And some of the organizations that are better known, get the. I don't care about attention. I know you don't either. You'd be. Have a big office in D.C. but so I'm only saying this to show people how effective American Family association and
Tim Wildmon: when they give, when they make donations to us, you can rest assured that those donations are being used to impact exactly.
Sandy Rios: And very, very successfully. And so Again, the number is 877-616-2396. If you would like to help American ah, family radio, prosper and grow and do the right thing. This is probably a lone voice, I don't know really of any other radio network that's doing this.
Tim Wildmon: Well, most Christian radio networks just want to play music and there's nothing wrong with music or they just want to do things that don't have anything to do with the issues of the day because they would be considered too, quote, controversial. So that's a lot of Christian, the Christian. There are a few exceptions about radio network, our friends there, and a few. But most of them just want to shy away from anything that might sound political or be considered controversial. And you know, you just can't do that. There's too many. It's too important. My dad started this ministry, this radio ministry in 1991. He started American Family association in 1977. But I remember him saying, you know what? We've got to get our message out unfiltered by the liberal news media to the, to the, to the country and particularly to the Christian community. Because everything we were saying and doing was being filtered through the, you know, the liberal news media in the radio or tv. He said, we want to go to the people directly. And so my dad began. God gave dad the vision of beginning a radio network. And one station led to 2, 2 led to 3, 3 led to 4, 4 led to 10, 10 led to 5,000, 50 led to 100. And then now we have 160 plus radio stations across the country that, we own and operate. And we're getting our message directly out to the folks around the country. And, so that's. That's the vision behind the ministry. And so my dad said, you know, as you say, we've. We've got to get our message out. We got to reach people. And so that's why we're here today.
Sandy Rios: Yes, exactly. Again, the phone number is 877-616-2396-877761-62396. All right, so, one of the things, of course, that we do, and this is the role that I play, although not exclusive, exclusive of telling people as clearly and as often as I can about the forgiveness and renewal of mine. And that, God has a better way. That's kind of my theme when I'm talking about these dark subjects. But, Jack. Jack. Gosh, Fred. Fred, I'm having trouble. Fred Jackson. You know, I can. Okay, let me just say.
Tim Wildmon: Jackson, Fred.
Sandy Rios: You guys, in the last four weeks, I have been. I was in NewSong York City for about three or four days at a conference.
Tim Wildmon: Well, that can mess anybody up right now.
Sandy Rios: I know, I know. Then I flew to Chicago for a very special event with a m. Friend of mine who's passing away, dying of cancer. And then I got on a plane and we flew to. Where do we go? We went to Wisconsin for a memorial for a family member. And also because I'm rehearsing to do a musical concert, which I don't want to talk about right now, but. And then now I'm getting. I'm getting ready to get on a plane tomorrow morning for Colorado. So I am kind of, befuddled. why. Why'd I even tell you that? I don't even know.
Tim Wildmon: because you're befuddled.
Sandy Rios: Because. Yes, that's why I'm calling, you know, Fred Jackson, or what I called him. So, Fred, it's so great to have you join us. And Fred was with, Canadian Broadcasting System, and he came, down to the States, to be the head of our news network.
Tim Wildmon: He married a Mississippi girl, too.
Sandy Rios: Yes, that's deal. But. But Fred has brought such professionalism to our news department. American Family News is very, It's just a gold standard. That's all I can say. So, Fred, good morning.
Fred Jackson: Good morning to you, Sandy, by the way.
Tim Wildmon: I have to. In about five minutes, I have to leave you guys.
Fred Jackson: Yes. So.
Tim Wildmon: Because I got to go get ready for the show. Five or ten minutes. From now.
Sandy Rios: Okay, well, then let's. Let's talk about a story. Fred. Let's just, mention not the one we were going to talk about. We want to talk about the Fort Hood shooting. That'll be a long discussion. Have you got another short story, a news thing?
Tim Wildmon: I don't mean to rush you all.
Sandy Rios: No, no, let's do that. And you can weigh in. Let's do that.
Fred Jackson: Well, listen, the, DOJ report that came out yesterday. Remember, when Biden was in power, he had a certain Attorney General, Garland Merrick Garland.
Sandy Rios: Yes, I remember.
Fred Jackson: Remember, parents were showing up because they were concerned that, their daughters, were. Loudoun County, Virginia, were being subjected to gu. Being allowed to come into their bathrooms and their change rooms. And some parents got. Oh, yeah, they got a little bit angry about that.
Sandy Rios: Exactly.
Fred Jackson: And you know what the Attorney General did? Basically, there was a memo that came out, and he was prompted, to do this. but the report that came out yesterday was on that memo that basically said, we need to start treating these parents like terrorists. Do you remember that?
Tim Wildmon: Yeah. But why was the doj. Why would they care about what's going on in a county school district? That's because it's so close to D.C. you think.
Fred Jackson: Or listen, that administration was out to demonize conservatives.
Tim Wildmon: Okay, gotcha.
Fred Jackson: They were out to demonize and to silence anybody who disagreed with their policies. and this report from the DOJ yesterday, that came out from the doj, and I invite you, you can go online. Weaponization Working Group releases report on Garland memo that chilled parental rights and warned parents could be domestic terrorists.
Sandy Rios: Well, remember how they arrested some of them? They treated them like domestic terrorists. And I think, you know, Tim, the thing of it is, they. It's not. It is exactly what Fred said. It is the destruction of conservatives. think about that first speech that Biden made, with the red backdrop where he talked about half of America needs basically should be. I forgot that I don't want to borrow terms.
Tim Wildmon: Well, Hillary said we're a basket of deplorables.
Sandy Rios: Well, yes, and what he said was worse. It was like he was a dictator. Looked like. Not. He looked like Hitler. He just needed a mustache. And he's warning most of the country, actually.
Tim Wildmon: So why is this coming out? Why is this coming out now?
Fred Jackson: Well, they wanted to dig in, and basically, the thrust. The Department of Justice. The current Department of Justice. Current Department of Justice. But one of the aspects of this report that came out yesterday was there was grave concern amongst many people in the DOJ at that time saying, this is really stupid, what you're, doing, putting out a memo referring to these parents as terrorists. So what this report gets into, despite the fact there was grave concern amongst many members of the DOJ at the
Tim Wildmon: time of the Biden and the Biden administration, so their own people inside the
Fred Jackson: DOJ were warning them, don't do this, because it was very obvious to them. Wait a minute. These are parents just showing up at school board meetings to express concern about.
Tim Wildmon: You wanted to intimidate them using the Department of Justice.
Fred Jackson: Exactly. And listen, I tell you what. The thinking, the philosophy of the left is still there. That's why this election is very, very important, because they're not giving up on their agenda. let me. There's another story. Sandy, you want to talk about the stories that are going on? I don't know if.
Tim Wildmon: Let me interrupt you just.
Fred Jackson: Sure, go ahead.
Tim Wildmon: So the point is, the story has come out now. The Department of Justice now under the Trump administration, has evidence to show that during the Biden administration, when they had a different DOJ leadership, Attorney General and FBI director, and we all know about Jamie's, James Comey's obvious hostility to Donald Trump and friends of Donald Trump, President Trump. So it's. But it's. The evidence is coming forth now to prove that the Biden administration was targeting, parents and Christian groups and things of that nature. That's why you're bringing this up, right?
Fred Jackson: Absolutely.
Sandy Rios: Let me interject something else, you guys. When, Obama was president, he appointed, I don't even know if it's 100, but it was tons of radical, radical leftists to be the attorneys in the Justice Department. Jay Christian Adams, who used to host my show for me, and he's a good friend, he did a whole study, deep dive of this because he was a whistleblower with the Justice Department a number of years ago. And. And he can speak clearly. He knows the system, and he did a whole graph of there. It was people like Jumanji Kumjingja. I mean, it was people from other countries and others that had worked in, the most radical groups possible. And some of them are still there now. A lot of them are gone. The Justice Department has really gotten rid of a lot of the bad eggs, but it's not that easy sometimes to get rid of them. But many of them are still there. And they have. Trust me, they have an agenda. Those that are still there. Hang on. when it comes to treating parents as terrorists, they're all about that. And they're all about also forcing, boys to, girls to endure boys in their bathrooms. So they're radical, off the charts, and they want to destroy the country. Some that are still there. So. Yes.
Fred Jackson: Yeah, another story. And this is a more positive story. I don't know if you've read, there was, election in Brazil.
Sandy Rios: Oh, yes, I was going to talk about that too.
Fred Jackson: Tell them, oh, listen, this is exciting. Brazil has had a far left government now for the last several years. And socialists, and of course, they promised the world, like the socialists here are promising, free this, free that. Well, their economy is in a total mess. People are fed up with it. And so, the gentleman who hopefully is going to be the new leader, they have to have a runoff yet. But hopefully the new leader down there is, his name, Bolsonaro.
Sandy Rios: Bolsonaro.
Fred Jackson: Bolsonaro. All right. But I put an AP story, an Associated Press story up on this yesterday, and this is from the Associated Press. According to a report on the election in the Wallnua Street Journal, Brazil's right has gained ground in recent years, fueled by anger over violent street crime, the growing political clout of evangelical Christians in Brazil. In Brazil now, this is exciting, folks. This is exciting. The evangelical Christians getting out to vote is going to change the direction of that country. Stop and think about that. And this reminds me of what the president of the Southern Baptist Convention came out in the last few days, Willie Rice. We talked about this on today's issues. 12 million members of the Southern Baptist Convention. He's saying, pastors, you got to get up and you got to talk about the issues because, you know, there's. We've been tending to divide political and theological issues. I'm sorry, abortion is a theological. Of theological importance, but it's also a political issue. you know, saying that, boys can turn into girls, that's, That's a theological issue, but it's also an important political issue. And churches, Christians, pastors, even people in the pews have got to speak out about that.
Sandy Rios: Yes. Let me tell you some other things about this, Fred and Tim. Tim, when do you need to go? Go? I mean, just tell us you're leaving.
Tim Wildmon: Yeah, I will. Go ahead.
Sandy Rios: Okay. All right. So the, Bolsonaro senior was an evangelical Christian, and he was the president of Brazil. And when he was elected, it was thrilling. And people love, love, loved him. And then suddenly, he is in trouble. He is under investigation, he is arrested. they. He's, in exile. I don't even know where he's is now. I think he's still alive. But they made his life hell. Literal hell.
Tim Wildmon: Sounds familiar.
Sandy Rios: The next. Exactly. Exactly. So the next election, a communist named Lula. Lula da Silva won the election. But now here's the thing we're learning now. You asked him why we're looking at this stuff? Because remember, that, organization called, usaid, The State Department. Okay. So they funneled two Brazilian civil. Civil society organizations more than they're giving. More than doubled from 31 billion in 2018 to 68 billion in 2019 once Bolsonaro took office. But it wasn't to help Brazil. It was to destroy Bolsonaro. So USAID poured all of this money after he was elected to destroy him, and they pretty much did it. Honestly, I'm sorry, I don't. I didn't have time this morning to find out exactly what his current status is. But the candidate now for president of Brazil is his son. Yes, his son is an evangelical Christian. And they, they just had this. I guess I'll use whatever our terms are. Runoff. They had the runoff. And maybe, you know, this. And the sun came. I think he got like 48%. so it's not over. They have to have the final vote like we do. But here's the. Here's what I want to point out. This. What's happened is since USAID was dismantled, the left has not won a single election in Latin America. So conservatives are sweeping the races in Latin America because USAID was spending billions of dollars to destroy these conservative candidates and elect.
Tim Wildmon: Was that Elon Musk? Was that what he was doing, or was this another, yeah, he. Yeah.
Sandy Rios: Doge discovered.
Tim Wildmon: Was that part of this when they were finding all these leftist, organizations that the government. Our taxpayer dollars were going to fund, and they were shutting those down.
Sandy Rios: Yes, yes. And you remember all. All these people are going to starve because there's no more usaid. I guess, yeah, the communists are going to starve from political campaign money. But that's how they spent the money for all of our money. USAID was huge.
Tim Wildmon: So this new person that was elected in Brazil, the election's not over yet. Or it is over.
Fred Jackson: I think they've got to have another runoff.
Sandy Rios: There's two candidates, and now,
Tim Wildmon: But the one who's favored to win is one of us. Is that what you're saying?
Sandy Rios: Yes.
Fred Jackson: Yes. Okay.
Sandy Rios: He's Bolson. Bolsonaro.
Tim Wildmon: I thought Brazil was mostly Catholic.
Sandy Rios: he's Bolsonaro.
Tim Wildmon: Junior A lot of Catholics have voted for him, too.
Fred Jackson: I don't know, perhaps, but the story
Tim Wildmon: and big evangelical vote, that.
Fred Jackson: That vote was very, very important.
Tim Wildmon: Wow.
Sandy Rios: Yeah. Isn't that something?
Fred Jackson: Oh, yes.
Tim Wildmon: I think, after the US I want to say that in. If you include North America and South America, I want to say Brazil is the second most populated country. Maybe Mexico or Canada would be there.
Fred Jackson: I'm, not sure.
Tim Wildmon: But I think Brazil. Brazil, I think, is the most populated country in South America.
Sandy Rios: That could very well be in Argentina.
Tim Wildmon: Second. So it's a big country, is what I'm saying.
Fred Jackson: Yes.
Sandy Rios: Yeah, exactly. And then that's a trend. that's a trend in Latin America, evidently, because USAID dried up. Thank you, Elon. Thank you, President Trump. And so you step up.
Tim Wildmon: So y' all continue on solving the world's problems here.
Sandy Rios: Okay, Tim. Tim Wildmon, our president. And as he leaves, our phone number is 877-616-2396. If you'd like to help American family. Ah, radio, you know, tell these stories, and. And make it make sense, just like Fred. The thing that I, of course, I know other things. And I just added that it all connects to government because we elected President Trump because he appointed Elon Musk. Evangelicals now are, have. It's a fair election, at least nearly, we think. And evangelicals are freed up to be the citizens God called them to be. They're not being, tapped down anymore by this wickedness. And so that's a practical effect of our faith. You know, that's why we need to know the stories and what's going on. But, Fred, there's another story that I really want us to discuss. And, you know what I'm going to do? I'm going to play a clip, and then I'm going to have you update the story. Okay? Okay, let's do it that way. Okay, Adam, here we go. Good morning.
Speaker D: We are live at Fort Hood, Texas, the scene of this terrible, terrible tragedy. Meg.
Speaker D: Is Debbie Turner Bell is with us in NewSong York. Good morning, Debbie. Good morning, Harry. It is such a tragedy and so unexpected, especially on an army base. President Obama talked about that in his statement yesterday. He said, it's difficult enough when brave Americans die in battle overseas, but it is horrifying that they should come under fire at an army base on American soil. This is a sad day, Harry.
Speaker D: Indeed. Fort Hood is the last largest military installation in the United states of America. 50,000 soldiers live and train here. They send troops to Afghanistan. They send troops to Iraq. More Iraq casualties came from this one base than any other base in the entire US Military system. They are very accustomed to sending soldiers into harm's way. This is the headline this morning. Killeen is the little town right next door to Fort Hood. And this, this is the headline in the Killeen Daily Herald Massacre on post. Don Teague is a former military man, flew helicopters, in the reserve, trained here himself. He's with us now from the very latest on post here at Fort Hood. Don, good morning. Good morning, Harry. For several hours yesterday, military officials told us that the suspected gunman in this case was dead. We now know he is very much alive and hospitalized with gunshot wounds. What we don't know for certain is why he started shooting. For dozens of unarmed soldiers at a Fort Hood medical processing center. It was an afternoon of Horror. At about 1:30 Thursday, military officials say 39 year old army Major Nadal Malik Hassan walked into a waiting room and opened fire with two non military handguns, randomly shooting soldiers in one building, then walking into an adjacent building and shooting again. The major who did it kept reloading clip after clip pretty much and just was pretty relentless. In all, 13 people were killed and at least 30 injured. A, toll that could have been even higher but for the actions of a female police officer. Among, the first to respond to the shooting. Female officer is alive, just out of surgery and in stable condition. She is believed to be the first responder who shot the suspect. The suspect was shot at least four times by the officer, a civilian employed by the Department of the Army. As police and ambulances rushed to the scene, officials say soldiers, some victims themselves, tore their uniforms to make bandages to treat the wounded.
Sandy Rios: Okay, so that takes us back to 2009 and I wanted to do that. So there's a big update today, Fred. I want to go back and talk about, excuse me, talk about that incident because I know that you remember it well and so do I. So we'll fill in some blanks in a minute, but there's an update today. Please tell us what it is.
Fred Jackson: President Trump has approved the execution by firing squad of Army Major Nadal Hassan for that 2009 shooting rampage at Fort Hood, Texas. 2009, long time ago, but finally, finally maybe there's some justice. one official in the administration, I believe said judgment day for Hasan has finally come.
Sandy Rios: Yes, and so, Fred, you know, we had a lot of listeners down at Fort Hood at that time and couple of things. I'll tell my story then. I know you have stories about how we covered that. I was all over that because I was so upset. This is still during the war. The war is still going on. And, Bruce and I had not been married that long, but we were, in Turkey, at the airport in Turkey when this shooting happened. And we were watching it on the screen. We had a long layover. And I remember coming out of my seat, I was so upset, Fred, because this was during the Obama years. Yeah. when we had a lot of, Muslim m. We had. Often we had Muslim soldiers turning against our own on the battlefield and otherwise. And while we're fighting them overseas. And I knew so much about the nefariousness of our president at the time, who gave his first speech to the Muslim world, who, mentioned. Who said, there's a whole list of things that we knew that he is Islamic. he also, I believe, is very much, a communist. But, he's both of those things, interestingly enough. And so I was just, beside myself. This guy killed. He walks in, he's a psychiatrist for the army psychologist. And he goes in and with these two guns. And these guys are unarmed, they're in a holding area. They're completely unarmed. And he's just killing them to kill them. And he actually says that in his interview, I wanted to kill as many as possible. And as he did this, he yelled Allah Akbar. And.
Sandy Rios: And of course, the aftermath of that. Fred, do you remember what they said the cause was? Do you remember? It was. They made up some phrase. It wasn't that he was, Islamic, or anything like that. It was that he was, I wish I just now remember this, so I wish I'd looked it up. let me just reset here. We're doing a share a thon. Ah.
Sandy Rios: For American Family Radio. This is, the title of it is Stand Firm. Stand firm. And it's First Corinthians, chapter 16, verses 13 through 14. And boy, is it appropriate now. There's so much wickedness. Be on your guard. Be on your guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous, be strong, and do everything in love in the process. Interesting. But, back to this situation. Fred, do you remember covering that? Do you remember anything in the newsroom or anything that came across your desk those days?
Fred Jackson: Well, the story as it unfolded, one of the things was because these folks, were getting medical checkups. They had to leave their arms outside if they had weapons. So he knew they were weaponless inside. That was one of the things. But also I remember Sandy has the investigation unfolded? This guy's feelings about America and this guy's feelings about terrorism, Islamic terrorism, were known. And, the picture that was painted was. They overlooked all of that in the interest of WOKE policies and diversity and all of that sort of thing. This guy should never have held the office that he did. He should not have been an active officer because he had writings that they discovered that he was on his computer. Pro Islamic terrorist. And yet he was on the base. He was a major. And that was one of the most disgusting things. And of course the mainstream media, well, even in that report from these reporters that we just heard, we don't know his motive. Well, he yelled out Allahu Akbar, which is what terrorists yell out because they're proud of what they are doing. And these deaths were avoidable if they had acted on what this man believed in.
Sandy Rios: Yeah. And it was on his computer, which of course, anywhere you work, and especially certainly military, a computer is open season. It's not private.
Fred Jackson: Yes.
Sandy Rios: And they knew he was, reading all this stuff and they didn't stop him. And when he finally did the shooting. 13. 13 innocent men and shot. I don't remember how many others he killed.
Fred Jackson: 30 injured. 30 injured.
Sandy Rios: So, when it finished, I, I would give anything if I could remember this phrase, Fred, but it was like it was a workplace, Statement.
Fred Jackson: Yeah, workplace violence or something like that.
Sandy Rios: Yeah, yeah, that's the idea. But worse than that. And I. And so they made this statement after the shooting. And honestly, I was. I'm sure you were too. I was beside myself because they were not being honest then. Like they, Some of them are still not being honest now. When an Islamist is involved in an act, they don't know. They. We just don't know what the motive is. We have no idea why he yelled Allah Akbar. Just, you know, but. And that's the way they. It was worse then. Worse then. And we were right in the middle of all of that.
Fred Jackson: Well, it's the same thing. The co pilot the other day aboard that flight, tell me he said the same thing.
Sandy Rios: You know. Well, I didn't see. I've been gone, Fred. So please tell the story. No, because I'm sorry, I don't even know that story.
Fred Jackson: This co pilot from Oman who was aboard that fly. Is it Fly Dubai? Fly Dubai. Flight. one report, one report said he hollered that out. And then when they captured him, those brave souls aboard that flight, and the captain managed to open up the door to allow these brave souls to get in there and take control of that airplane to avoid what I believe he intended to fly that airplane, into Tel Aviv, Ben Gurion Airport, or somewhere in there. I believe that was his intention. and, God's hand was on that plane and on those heroes that were there that day. But he said afterwards, when they were holding him down, he said, kill me. That was his mentality. He wanted to die for the cause somehow.
Sandy Rios: Yeah. He was a martyr. He wanted to be a martyr.
Fred Jackson: Yeah. When his original intent was stopped, he still wanted to die for the cause. And, of course, there's. There's an investigation underway. There is no way that this guy from Oman should have been allowed as part of the crew of that aircraft. And the Israeli officials are looking into that, how that was missed.
Sandy Rios: Wow.
Fred Jackson: But you see, you know, and it just. It goes to. Also, Sandy, we have this Democrat running for a Senate in Michigan. He wants us to forget everything that he has said up to the time that he won that primary. He wants us to forget what he has accused, you know, genocide, etc. Etc. He wants us to forget that. He wants us to forget that he's hung out with Hassan Piker, who hates the Jewish people. He wants us to forget that. I saw an interview. I don't sure if you saw the interview, yesterday on Fox with him. He's a smooth character.
Sandy Rios: Oh, he is. I have seen him interviewed on Fox, but I didn't see that one.
Fred Jackson: Yeah.
Sandy Rios: Jesse Waters.
Fred Jackson: Is it?
Sandy Rios: Jesse?
Fred Jackson: No, no. Martha McCollum.
Sandy Rios: Okay. All right.
Fred Jackson: she did a good job with the questions, but he danced away. He never gives you a full answer, a direct answer to a question. He dances away from it. You know, he. You know, I. I think if I was, I would have asked him straight up. do you refer to Hamas as a terrorist group? Do you refer Hezbollah as a terrorist group? She didn't ask him that. She just asked, okay, what do you consider terrorist groups? And he gave this kind of answer. Oh, anybody who carries out violence. Do you know what I think he thinks? He believes the US army is a terrorist group.
Sandy Rios: Yes. Remember when he, responded, I think it was to Jesse Waters, and he said, basically, I forgot what attack it was, but there was a comparison. And he said it was no different than, oh, the attack on Hamas, on the Israelis was no different than, Americans. I don't know if he probably said it much more carefully than I'm saying it, but he was saying, americans killing my people in the Middle east during the war. He Compared it to that. And I don't think there's any doubt, honestly, Fred, but the part of the Islamic or the Sharia law is that you lie to the infidel, you don't lie to each other, but you lie to the infidel. It's righteous. And you mislead them because you plan to conquer, overcome, in some cases, kill. And so, now when Jesse Waters interviewed him, Jesse did a great job. I mean, Jesse was relentless. Pinned him down, pinned him down. And this guy got really kind of off his game and said some really foolish things. I would recommend people look at that. because he really exposed himself and he didn't. He lost his slickness, Fred, because he got Jesse, got him, kind of confused and mean and aggravated, you know, so when he got mad, then he said silly. Not silly, but bad things that didn't comport. So, they're not infallible. And I just, you know. Fred, do you know anything? I'm asking you things I didn't ask you to prepare for. But do you know anything about the polls now in Michigan?
Fred Jackson: Yeah, they've closed. Rogers, is closing in.
Sandy Rios: Okay. All right, well, that's.
Fred Jackson: We gotta remember. You go back to the primary. El Sayad lost Detroit in the primary, in the Democrat primary. So it is closing there.
Sandy Rios: Okay.
Fred Jackson: because people are concerned. Listen, in Michigan you have the example already of what happens when Islamic, people gain political control. You look at Dearborn, you look at Hamtramck, you look at those places, the hostility towards Christians. I forget. I think it's Dearborn. They spent taxpayers money to celebrate, Ramadan.
Sandy Rios: Yeah.
Fred Jackson: but they wouldn't spend money on Christmas, decorations, you know, so we have enough evidence now as to where the Mamdanis and the Dearborns and the Hamtramck want to take this country. It's why you have this rightly concern in Texas over the Islamic people there who want to create a community. We know what's happening there. And Texans, at least some have raised up, including the governor of the state and said, wait a minute, we're not going to have this. We're not going to have these separate communities because we have the evidence from the UK now of what happens. You know, you have these separate Islamic communities and France, France also. Yes. So we have enough evidence now of what happens when they reach a critical, powerful point in their political agenda. So we need to be careful about that. But that's why, you know, honestly, Sandy, that, you know, American Family radio. We, we're doing our very best to expose this. And it's, It's. This is spiritual warfare. Yeah. And I know it's a phrase that we use, but it is true. It is spiritual warfare that's going on right now in this country and this election. Yes, people sometimes dismiss midterms as not be m. This midterm is very important. Very important. So that's why, you know, we're. We're encouraging people right now to help American family Radio do what it does every day. Number to call 877-616-2396-877761-62396. You know, Sandy, I like to say, we are here, American Family Radio, for such a time as this. To quote from the book of Esther.
Sandy Rios: Yeah, that is absolutely true, Fred.
Fred Jackson: It's critical.
Sandy Rios: Yeah, it is critical. So, Willison, you do great work, you and your team. And how do you tell me this is just for. They don't need to listen to this part, but just you and me. how. What's your process? Can you tell me quickly, like, the process of your news department? you know, we used to have the. A long time ago. I'm sure you remember this too, when the news used to come in, like on a tape, a continuous tape. You know, we don't have that ticker tape.
Fred Jackson: Yes, I'm old enough to remember. Have used that, Sandy.
Sandy Rios: Yeah, yeah, me too. Yeah. And so now we have, I guess, the Internet. So, I mean, is there a service that you guys. I mean, how do you gather your news?
Fred Jackson: Well, obviously we, you know, I, I don't know how we did news before the Internet, honestly, and, and, and the communication we had. Well, I, I do know we waited for the mail to come and we got press releases, et cetera, et cetera, or people called us. That's how far back I go. but honestly, today, we are on the mailing list of conservative groups. So obviously, you know, we have organizations out there that are fighting the battles, and so we go to them to get reaction to what the political agenda that's coming out on a day by day basis. And so that's. And we have reporters that are divided up responsibilities. Listen, Sandy, one of the more important ones is, we have a reporter that's dedicated to tell, people what's going on in our schools, what our kids are being taught. That is so important. Sandy, many, many years ago, the Russian leader Khrushchev, what did he say? America would fall without a shot being Fired people, may have. Well, how is that? Well, the way that the left has done it, the Communists and the Marxists have done it, is taking over our schools and what they're being taught. That's why. And I was still shocked, but maybe I shouldn't have been. Within 48 hours after the October 7, 2023, massacre in Israel of those 1200 Israeli men, women and children, within 48 hours, there were pro Hamas demonstrations on campuses like Harvard and Columbia. How does this happen?
Sandy Rios: Well, we know now. We know now, don't we?
Fred Jackson: Prime Minister Netanyahu alluded to this last week in his speech, to the United Nations. Remember what he said when he was going through. He said Qatar. The country of Qatar.
Sandy Rios: Yes, yes, yes.
Fred Jackson: Has been sending hundreds of millions of dollars to the campuses in this country to spread Islamic influence. We had this case of, a university. We dealt with a story last week. a university, it's up in the northeast somewhere. And, this university appointed what they called a chaplain of sorts, over, the Christian groups. And they have to have his permission to meet, to even hold a meeting, to bring. What speaker are you bringing in? But, you know, there was another student group on that campus that's exempt. Guess the Muslim group. The Muslim student group is exempt from any of those restrictions.
Sandy Rios: Oh, gosh.
Fred Jackson: Now, fortunately, the Alliance Defending Freedom ADF is fighting a court case on this. But. But these stories come up, you will not see them in other places.
Sandy Rios: Now, that's true. you know, Fred, that's what I discovered years ago. I remember interviewing Bernie. Bernie, Bernie. He was a big newsman at the time, cbs. Anyway, he talked to me about what's worse than twisting the news is what they leave out.
Fred Jackson: Yes.
Sandy Rios: That they won't. It's the things they don't tell you. And so I. And recently we had this great illustration, Fred. You know, like the president's, speech on, China taking, You know, taking 225 million, I think, million, voter files, American voter files. He's stealing them. Taking them, and, taking the information anyway. Stealing it. And then also producing, like, 25,000, I believe, something like that. Fake drivers, driver's license to interject into our election for people to vote. And so he tells this story, and he talks about the machines, too. And it's a live address to the United States, to the Americans. The networks don't cover it. Fox does cover it, but then they send out a memo the very next morning. Don't talk about this. You are not allowed to Talk about this. So even Fox listeners didn't really get to hear that fleshed out. What did that mean? And where did that come from? And so that's what happens. It's that suppression of information that you need to know. And that's what we don't do. We don't do that.
Fred Jackson: No, absolutely not. you mentioned China. I have to tell you, I'm reading a book right now by Joel Rosenberg, Beijing Betrayal. People need to read this. Here's what's scary. Of course, this book was written two, three years ago, but the geopolitical, narration in that book is scary to what's happening in our world today.
Caroline: Wow.
Fred Jackson: The friendship between China, Russia, Tehran, Turkey, all of this.
Fred Jackson: Rosenberg, he worked for the Netanyahu administration back many years ago. But it's an exciting, exciting book to read because the alliances that we are seeing, and some of it is behind the scenes, but some of it is very obvious. The alliances that we are seeing today is, very much reflected in that book. And I don't want to give the book away, but it's China considering taking over Taiwan. Gee, have we seen any concern about that lately?
Sandy Rios: Yeah. Really? that's a surprising plot, but what he had, the way he develops it. I know a lot of Joel's books have actually turned out to be what happens, and that's what people, People talk about that. But he's a great writer, and so we. I'm glad you said that. So, Beijing Betrayal.
Fred Jackson: Yes.
Sandy Rios: Joel. Joel Rosenberg.
Fred Jackson: Yeah.
Sandy Rios: Well, Fred, thank you. You want to listen, why don't you want to give the number and, just ask the listeners. Let's do this from you, our news guy, before I, Before I say goodbye to you.
Fred Jackson: Okay? 8776-1623-9687-7616-2396. you know, as Tim and others have said through the years, that, we are here for you folks. that's the bottom line. We are here to bring you truth, so that you can make biblically based decisions. we base truth on the absolute truth of God's word. That is the bottom line. And God doesn't change. So we're not going to change, folks, but we're going to stand with you and inform you. And just like these evangelical Christians in Brazil who are making a difference, folks, you can make a difference, but you have to have the truth. And, so that's why we are here to bring this truth to you. But, Sandy, it's not only that. It's the eternal truth of God's word. And I love the m mix of programming here at American Family Radio, the preaching programs. I live about two minutes from the office here, but I take a 25 minute drive to work in the morning to listen to David, Jeremiah, so that I get his biblical teaching and that fresh perspective every day. And, this is what we do. We of ultimate m importance is we want to share the gospel message with people because that changes lives, it changes hearts, it introduces people to the absolute truth of scripture. And then, you know, you can understand, you have a better understanding, you have a better understanding of Israel and where God stands with Israel by reading Genesis 12 and Romans 11. you know that. So God hasn't changed his mind about the Jewish people. So that drives our perspective on what's going on with Israel today and the terrorist groups that are trying to destroy them. When they say from the river to the sea. We understand this is part of spiritual warfare. What's happening with our kids in our schools. The attack by Satan's crowd, and I'll say it, the attack by Satan's crowd trying to take the minds of our children, it's spiritual warfare. And we just want to play a part, folks, in that. We want to help you, understand what is going on and to encourage you to get involved. So 877-616-239, 687-76-162396 or you can go to afr.net and as our theme says, we need to stand strong.
Sandy Rios: All right, Fred Jackson, head of the American Family News and he does such a great job. Fred, I've just loved working with you through the years and thank you for joining me this morning to bring us the latest news. So thank you.
Fred Jackson: Great chatting with you.
Sandy Rios: Thank you. All right, Sandy rios on Sandy Rios 24 7. We're not done yet, but we're going to take just a tiny bit of a break. But you won't hear a break, but I'm going to take a break and we'll be back in just a second.
Fred Jackson: This is Sandy Rios 247 on American Family Radio.
Sandy Rios: Abortions performed by Planned Parenthood were among the top leading causes of death in America, revealing the terrifying truth of the left's anti life agenda. According to Planned Parenthood's 202223 annual report, Abortions performed by the organization accounted for the top four leading causes of death. Think about that. Paid for by our tax dollars. And honestly, this freight train is going down the track so fast and so Powerfully. It's really hard. It's going to be hard for us to stop this. And I think one of the best ways I've said before, I'll say again, is preborn. Preborn who is not part of the government, not part of the public debate or campaigns, but an organization that's simply providing ultrasounds for moms who are pregnant and doubting whether they should carry the baby to allow them to see their baby through ultrasound. It's an amazing process and it actually works. when the moms see their babies, I think it doubles the chance that they will not take the life of their baby. You know, you can't beat those odds. If you'd like to help, $28 pays for one ultrasound, just one. And you can send however much you can afford. Go to preborn.com sandy that's preborn.com sandy
Fred Jackson: the Sandy Rios 24. 7 podcast are available at afr.net back to Sandy Rios 24.
Jeff Chamblee: 7 on American Family Radio.
Steve: My name is Steve. I'm, from Fredericktown, Missouri. about seven years ago I was doing the self help thing, reading the Bible and trying to be a Christian and it wasn't working out very well. I was very depressed and I started listening to your radio station for about a year at that point. And during the program, I believe it was while Bert and Alex were on the radio and one of the commentators said that if you weren't saved that you should say the sinner's prayer. And yes, I knew I was saved after I said that prayer. So thanks to afr and I thank God for saving me from myself.
Sandy Rios: Wow, Steve, that gives me chills, honestly, to hear you say that, your honesty and, this has happened, you know, this is what happens when people hear the Word. And sometimes you might wonder, well, why you know the Word. Well, that's, what we are. That's like our theme verse, First Corinthians 16, 13 through 14, which is, by the way, I looked it up in a different translation and I think it's just beautiful. It says, be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong, let all that you do be done in love. I love that. And certainly people, come to Christ through God's word. But, you know, Paul said in one of his letters, he said, he makes the statement, the law is a teacher leading men to God. The law is a teacher leading men to God. What I found in my radio life, even when I was on a different network, Salem, was that what was happening in the Culture like abortion, or mass murders or just violence. talking about that is invoking, of course, as you talk about it, as a believer, God's law. You might not be giving chapter and verse, but you're talking about what's right and wrong and why. And that's why these stories, these news stories, these incidents are a law in itself, because you're talking about what's right and what's wrong. And that is a teacher leading men to God, who is the author of that law. And it's. It builds. It builds. It builds when you talk like that. And people do suddenly discover that there is a right and wrong and there is a God. And, that sounds at least a little bit about what Steve experienced. And I'm just thrilled about it, to be honest with you. I'm going to tell you one last thing. Fred Jackson, who was just with us, he's our news head of our news department, was a very successful, newsman in Canada. And he came down to, you know, Mississippi, which is a big step from Canada, Vancouver. He's from actually, and served American Family Radio so well, created this great news department. People love our news, programs. and about five years ago, I want to say maybe, maybe not that long, but that seems right. Fred just dropped dead. He just collapsed. He dropped dead. And we thought we had lost him, but he came out of it. He had not lost any of his cognitive abilities, and he's been alive now for all of these years. It was an absolute miracle. He is a godly, godly man who loves the Lord, but loves the news. And so that's the kind of people that we have at American Family Radio to give you information and bring the news to you. So I wanted you to know that on behalf of Fred. So I think we're done, and I hope you enjoyed this. I just want to say, if you've never given to American Family Radio, this would be good. It'd be great. American Family Radio. When I was in dc, they actually built a tower in Virginia that went into D.C. which was great for me, to be, able to be on the air around people that I know. One cool thing, Jeff Clark is in the news. Jeff was the, Assistant Attorney General, in President Trump's first term. And you might recall that he was the only person, Bob Barr was the Attorney General, and sabotaged, really, the notion that anything had happened in the 2020 election that should not have happened. and so Jeff was the one person in justice that tried to get information to President Trump that he did feel that there was some stuff that needed to be investigated. This is 2020. I'm getting my. This is at the end of his term. And so, the FBI went to his house. You might have remember this. And somehow these cameras turned up. All these cameras were there to watch Jeff Clark being dragged out of his house in his underwear, his shirt and tie and underwear. And the. The FBI went through his house. He hadn't. He had committed no crime. No crime at all. It's just that he had talked about investigating the nefarious things that had happened in the 2020 election. And so he's been. He almost lost his with all license. In fact I think he may have in December. And so, he's just a great man, strong believer. And I found out. I met him, actually met him a couple of years ago and we chatted and he told me he used to listen to Sandy Rios in the morning, in D.C. I just. I. I was just blown away by that. But I thought you might enjoy that little anecdote. Well, we are done for today. Except I want to remind you that PreBorn is our sponsor. We couldn't do any of this. It would fit weren't their support. So I hope that you'll go to preborn.com sandy and make your most generous donation. And one last time, the phone number for our shareathon is 1-8776-1623-9687-7616-2396. Well, have a great day and I hope you enjoyed listening to today's edition of Sandy Rios 2417.
