Maria Bartiromo: her next chapter in terms of overall broadcast journalism. I think it continues to be very necessary and important for people because it is about creating a life for yourself that you want.
Speaker B: There's no real intel yet on what led to the move and if it was ultimately murdered Maria's decision or the network's. She's been silent on social media for weeks and last made an on air appearance almost a month ago on August 9th.

Speaker B: Sunday morning Futures ET has learned Fox will rebrand any shows using her name and fill in anchors will cover those various time slots, mostly finance focused programs that became more and more political in recent years. As Maria, the first person to ever broadcast from the floor of the NewSong York Stock Exchange, who spent 20 years as CNBC's Money Honey, voiced her support for President Donald, Trump's agenda.

Sandy Rios: Okay, well that was. I've never heard a news or program or a program like Entertainment Tonight that makes something so tragic so happy. So happy. They make it sound so happy. But for many of us, the loss of Maria Bartiroma on Fox, Fox, network is really heartbreaking and also signals something much worse. And I want to talk about all of that today. I've had a certainly I worked for Fox for about seven years. I have some insights but I don't have, I want to say right up front I don't have any personal insight on Maria, Maria's whatever the fact that she's gone, whatever circumstance caused her to be gone. I don't have any personal thing that you can't read somewhere. So I'm going to be speculating and I'm going to give you some background on Fox and then I want to help you at the end to kind of think about what you're listening to, considering that we are hurtling toward the midterms. And so that's what we're going to be doing today.
Massachusetts Governor Healy signed legislation allowing abortion up through birth
But first, well, something really horrible happened, in August, August 10th, actually, and I'm not sure I ever talked to you about it, but it's the fact that Massachusetts Governor Healy signed legislation that the headline says strengthening abortion protections in Massachusetts. But in fact, it was allowing abortion up through the ninth month, up through birth. And it was, she was surrounded by lots of actually really young women just beaming, just smiling as, she's signing this horrendous bill. And honestly, this seems to be the drift of our culture. You know, we've really fought, those of us in the pro life movement had fought for a long time to bring it back, to pull it back, to pull it back. And we finally passed Roe versus Wade. And now the choices went to each of the states, and the choices are make, the states, many of them are making terrible choices on the matter of choice. And so Massachusetts is the, the leader, I guess, in the most horrendous finding of any state in the union right now.

Maria Bartiromo: Sunday morning, everyone. Welcome to Sunday Morning Futures. I'm Maria Bartiromo.
Sandy Rios: Well, you know what? It makes me so sad to hear that for that's just one of the three shows that Maria has hosted on Fox. But that was the one that I really listened to every Sunday. That's the sound I heard come back, from church. I had recorded it and I learned so much because Maria and I were pretty much on the same page. She was a real straight talker. She covered, you know, the, the, voting machine problems, the voting Covid. the Iraq, the Iran war. She would just bold and she would say things that maybe other hosts wouldn't say. And I learned to trust her. And of course, she, she really is a consummate pro. Just think about that. She's had. She had three shows, Mornings with Maria, Sunday morning Futures, and also Maria Bartiromo. M. Maria Bartiromo's Wallnua Street. Three shows. She said in another clip, I think we just heard that she did 17 hours on the air each week. And I, can just tell you right up front, the prep for that. The prep for that is enormous. So she was born in Brooklyn. Her dad was, owned a little Italian restaurant and she helped her family. It was a family business and she used to work in the restaurant. So she comes from a very like, I guess, middle class but humble past and, worked her way up, ended up going to, I think, NewSong York University. I think that's the one she went to. Got degrees in finance and I think and another degree as well. So she was well equipped, understands the political scene, the finances, and boy, will she be missed. So what happened there? What happened? we're going to talk about that, but not quite yet because I want to tell you a story first.
I, I think maybe, uh, it's best if we go back and talk about Fox
I, I think maybe, it's best if we go back and talk about Fox and the. The iteration of it. Oh, and by the way, my husband is with me. My husband Bruce. Hi, honey. Good morning.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): Hey, good morning. Good to be here.
Sandy Rios: so, Bruce, I'm gonna. You'll know some of this story. So I probably do a narrative here, but if I. If you need to correct me, jump in. Okay. If I get something wrong. Okay.
Sandy Cohen started talking about Fox News incessantly in the 90s
All right. So I was on the radio in Chicago in the 90s. You've heard me say that, have you not? And I would go home and visit my parents in our little town of, six, thousand. And my dad was crazy about this new network. It was called Folks Fox. Folks Fox. And the lead, anchor was Bill O'Reilly. And he was great. I would watch it. I was. I think when I'd go home, I can't wait to see Fox News. Because they were saying things that the networks never said. It was refreshing. So when I went back on to get back up to Chicago to get on the air again, I started talking about Fox incessantly. And I went on a campaign to bring them to Chicago. For heaven's sake. We need another, fresh news voice. And this is the one. And eventually that did happen. I was very, very happy. And so, Fox became. It just grew and grew, and it really was, a network where you could trust them, and they told the truth, and they had a view that most Americans had. And so it just grew and grew and grew until it was the number one cable news network. And it still is, as a matter of fact. So when I went to. When I moved to Washington, D.C. as president of Concerned Women for America in 2001, they had really, really, really grown to a powerhouse well known by everyone. And they used to say, fair and balanced. Remember fair and balanced? And they, for the most part, were. But the one topic that they were real skittish on was homosexuality. They were based in NewSong York City. And, one of the last appearances, maybe the last appearance I did on the Bill O'Reilly show was I was talking about Ellen DeGeneres being the spokesperson for JCPenney. And he asked me to be, his guest, but he just hounded me about. This is his words now, Sandy, don't do any gay bashing. Like. Like I do gay bashing. But that's what he kept saying, even in my ear, right before I went on the air. He came in my ear because I was in remote, in Chicago and he was in NewSong York. Don't know, Sandy, don't say anything. I said, bill, I won't I will just tell the truth. I'm not going to bash Ellen. So, I went on the air and he. Anyway, that's a whole story. That's actually how I ended up at American Family Radio. I was very upset by the way he talked over me and did not let me make my points. But that really was the atmosphere at Fox. They were scared to death of anything regarding that. So with that as the backdrop in 2001, sometime in 2002, I was in my office working when my staff ran in and said that turn, on the television quickly, because down in Texas, they have, they have overturned the sodomy law. Now all eyes were on that case. It was called Lawrence v. Texas because Texas had some real strict laws about homosexuality. And that's how they referred to it. Sodomy permitting, not permitting sodomy, between two men. And so we knew our minds better than mine. Many attorneys knew that this was the gateway to gay marriage. Don't ask me to lay that out. I won't. But I understood that, too. So, I sat on the couch then and started watching Fox's coverage. And they had not one, not two, but three attorneys cheering on this decision. And, so we called Bill Shine, who was the head of the news division at that time. And I told him, I said, bill, you're supposed to be fair and balanced. What is this? And I've been their guest a lot. So they knew me. I said, that's not fair and balanced. You had, just what I said to you. You didn't have just one or two. You had three attorneys with no dissent on this issue. And so he asked me to be on, Hannity and Combs. Remember Hannity and Combs? That's before Hannity had his own show. Allen Combs was the very liberal, really nice guy, but very liberal, co host for Shawn. So it was a counterpoint show. And so they put me on the show when I've been on it many times, but they kept making me wait. And I waited and I waited. And it was toward the very end of the show, and they gave me just a very short, like, couple of minutes, and I. It was really frustrating because I had to, you know, talk rapidly. I couldn't lay out the case. And the next morning I went to back to work, and my staff, said, do you know what they did to you last night? And I said, no, what? They said, they turned your face green. They turned your face green. And they had recorded it. We all watched it, and it was like Just my face. And it was like, the green of the Wicked Witch of the North. Okay, so.
So then here we go back to Bill Shine. The green face incident. It was no accident
So then here we go back to Bill Shine. What in the world, Bill? I didn't. My staff called. What are you doing? And he said, oh, they. They said they would investigate. So then they came back and finally said, oh, you know, it was just an accident. It was. Whatever. It was no accident. It was no accident. But anyway, so what happened when I. Few, years later, I ended up. Bill actually offered me a job. M. To be a Fox News contributor. That's how that started. Our relationship really blossomed from that. The green face incident. But so when I went to NewSong York to interview, actually have a personal interview with Bill and with, Roger Ailes, I have to tell you, I had a great interview with Bill. It was actually pretty hostile with me at first. And then he finally. I think I won him over just because I was being honest with him. And then he had me go in to talk with Roger Ailes, who was the president. And we had a very nice conversation. And my concern, which is what I shared with him, I said, roger, I'm. I am a, Christian. that's the source of my strength. That's the, Out of that, my understanding of Scripture pours my comments and everything that I say. And, if I am not allowed, you know, to talk about that when it's important or when it's relevant, then I can't do this. And he said, sandy, you can listen. And he shared some personal things with. He's gone now. I could just say that he said, you know, I. I understand Christianity. I think I did come to Christ too. But as we know, he had a lot of failings in his personal life. I didn't see those, any of that when I was there. But, he said, absolutely. That's absolutely my full permission.
Fox wanted me to fill in for Tony Snow when he died of cancer
So later when, Tony Snow died, he had a. Many of. You will remember, Tony had been the press secretary, I think, for President Bush. And he was just so charming and quick. And they, gave him a talk show on Fox, which is very, very popular. Then suddenly Tony died of, cancer. And they wanted me to be. Fill in for him. Not fill in, but take his show, which was amazing. You think about that. And so, they asked me again to come back for an interview. And this time they have a different gentleman who was over the radio. And Bill had recommended me. Bill Shine. He was the. The guy over the news, the executive vice president and the guy that was over the radio. Network was extremely liberal. And so he was not real crazy about me. His famous, famous. His favorite host, he told me this was Allen Combs. And Allen Combs was a rabid leftist. So, I didn't get that. I didn't get that job. But I. That. That was my background with Fox. Now fast forward to the 2020 election, and many, many moons had passed since all of that had happened. I was with Fox for seven years and loved it, actually.
Fox and Friends turned against President Trump after his presidency for 2016
and so, in fact, Bruce, we should tell the story about, being in Istanbul. You want to tell that story? I'll let you tell that story.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): So Sandy and I were traveling, and we were in Istanbul, Turkey. And it had been a long day. We'd done a lot of walking, a lot of sightseeing. But Sandy needed to get some. Some gifts for some people. And they have what's called the Grand Bazaar there. It's just a huge area with tents and vendors who sell all kinds of things, including T shirts. Sandy wanted to get some T shirts. She walked into the Grand Bazaar and went to the very first vendor that sold T shirts. And the vendor there, he's talking, in Turkish, and he's not conversing in English with Sandy as she's looking. And all of a sudden he turns to her, points at her, and in very good English goes, I see you on tv, cnn. And he recognized Sandy from seeing her on cable TV in Turkey on Fox.
Sandy Rios: That Fox was in TV on Fox.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): But he had it wrong. He goes, on cnn. And she goes, no, on Fox.
Sandy Rios: Anyway, I knew it. Anyway, I'm m. Laughing. I mean, that was just pretty astounding. But that's how big Fox was. And they were in Europe and a lot of. And that was really good because people were actually hearing conservative news in other countries for the first time. All right, so fast forward to the 2020 election. So you have to understand that things had changed by that time. And Fox, was still run. Rupert Murdoch, who's Australian, was still the owner. Rupert is not a conservative. He's actually. He owned, you know, he's the owner of Fox tv. If you watch that, you know, it had a lot of questionable moral programs on it. So that's the guy that owned Fox News, but a conservative news cable outlet was a good money maker, so. But he wasn't in tune. So, Roger Ailes was, though, a very strong conservative. He'd been the producer for Rush Limbaugh for many, many years. So that gives you the background on this. But by the time 22, 2022 came around. Roger Ailes. Roger, Ailes. Rupert Murdoch did not like President Trump. He said, as a matter of fact, I don't know if this is public until later. He said, we want to make Donald Trump a non person. And so the anchors just actually turned against President Trump after his presidency for 2016. And, Peter Doocy. I'm not Peter, but his father. His father. What was his name on Fox and Mr. Doocy. Mr. Doocy Senior. We knew him so well. I mean, isn't it funny now his son's more famous than he is. But, the Fox and Friends completely started trashing President Trump. And so did Brett Baer, and so did Martha McCallum and certainly so did Jennifer Grifenhagen. And there were more. I can't even name them all, but it was really upsetting. And I picked that up maybe more than some people did. It was subtle, but it was there. And so takes.
That takes us to election night, I guess, 2019. President Trump has a healthy lead
That takes us to election night, I guess, 2019. And actually we were home here with friends and I was. We were in Florida by that time. We moved here in, 2016, right after the 2016 election. So election night of 2019, we're sitting there and we're watching and a. President Trump has a healthy lead and it's look like, looks like it going. It's going well. But Fox's, news reporter, election reporter. What was his name, honey?
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): Arnon.
Sandy Rios: Arnan something.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): Yeah.
Sandy Rios: Anyway, I received him before. I'd never seen him before. And when he would report bad news, he had kind of a smirk on his face that already bothered me. You know, I pick up other things that maybe are not scientific.

But so then again, it comes to
Maria Bartiromo: Arizona.
Sandy Rios: and so, it, Arizona at that time was. It was. President Trump was behind with less than 1% of the vote in. And there were three more hours of voting. And I want to what you to hear what actually happened. This. Listen, it was. Clip 6.
Speaker E: The Fox News decision desk is calling Arizona for Joe Biden.
Sandy Rios: I think a lot of people still aren't totally sure about Arizona either. Some people think that may have been called a little too early.
Speaker E: I'm not certain.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): I disagree with the call, but I
Speaker E: think maybe it's a little premature.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): I'd be careful to understand how many more votes are out there. I'm confident the desk is doing that, but, this is one where a little bit of caution might be useful.
Speaker E: I know other networks have called. We haven't. And I think we're very wise in doing so. I know this, this network takes that responsibility very seriously, as they should. And I'm very proud to be affiliated with that because I think, the call of Arizona, from what I'm hearing, is premature. Arizona, are you 100% sure of that call and when you made it? And why did you make it? Absolutely, we've made it after basically a half hour of debating. Is it time yet? Because it was. It's, it's been clear for a while that the former vice president is in the lead in Arizona and was most likely to, to win the state. It has been in the category that we call knowable but not callable for about an hour.
Sandy Rios: Yes. So there you go. And as I said, there were three more hours of voting and less than 1% of the votes were in. So why is that bad? Bruce Rather, why is that bad?
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): Well, that was Arnon Mishkin, who was a Fox, ah, election person. And as you say, and we really need to make this clear, the polls had not closed in Arizona when they made this call. There were three more hours of voting when Michigan said, well, we're going to call this for, Vice President Trump, I mean, Biden. And think of all the people that may have been standing in line, especially when you get to places like Maricopa county, which has been notorious over the years for long lines of voters, having to wait because they have equipment malfunctions, allegedly. And, people are told to go other places to vote because the machines have broken down. So, you know, if you're standing in a line in Arizona and you get the word that, hey, the election's already been called, Biden won, and you're intending to vote for Trump, why would you stand there and wait to vote for Trump other than just because you want to do your duty? But you can imagine how many people turned around and went home because of this Fox, because they're trusting fox. So many people think, well, Fox News says it, they're the ones that carry the water for the conservative movement. So if they say Trump has lost his state, then he's lost his state.
Sandy Rios: So that's what they did. And of course, we know now, Arizona was one of the hotbeds of election fraud, ah, voting machine fraud and all of this, as was Georgia, as was Pennsylvania. I mean, other, other fraud as well, of mailing, votings and all those things. But, you know, we didn't know that then.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): And you know what was interesting about that, clip, you just played is the first voice was Sarah Sanders talking about, it's too early to call it. Then it was Karl Rove. Karl Rove says, I'm not sure we should be calling it.
Sandy Rios: And he's no fan of Trump, and
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): he's no fan of Trump, believe me. But the third voice was former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum. Now, the clip you heard, he was sitting with the CNN people, not the Fox people, and he is saying, CNN is not calling this Arizona, election for Trump, for Biden yet. It's too early. That's cnn. You know, they were dying to call it for Biden, but even they held back and did not call it for Biden that early in the evening.
Sandy Rios: Yeah. So, so that's what they did. And, then, of course, the voting was stopped, which had never happened in our nation's history. Now, I'm not blaming Fox for this. Everywhere it shut down, except, of course, in Georgia, where they kept counting ballots. We saw those videos and I think other places as well. It was a very. You, know. Now we know it's because President Trump was winning by so much that they had not planned the margins of their cheating enough, and they needed more time to find more votes. We know that now in retrospect, and a lot of it had to do with the, with the voting machines. So we found that out later. And, Actually, you know what? Let's, play clip one, just the first part, and then I'll. If you've got it in the, in the machine there, and I, I will interrupt it because I want you to hear how Maria covered this, just before. This was at right. Really, really close to after the election, between the election and the inauguration. Okay. Clip one.
Texas rejected using Dominion voting machines three times over concerns about security
Maria Bartiromo: Welcome back. According to public records, Dominion voting machines are used in 2000 jurisdict jurisdictions in 30 states. According to experts, if one site has a flaw, other sites are likely to as well. Which is why Texas rejected using Dominion software three times, raising concerns that the system was not safe from fraudulent or unauthorized manipulation. That's troubling, given we already know that at least two software glitches in Georgia and Michigan occurred on election night. Attorney, Sidney Powell is leading the charge against Dominion, and she says she has enough evidence of fraud to launch a massive criminal investigation. Sydney, thanks very much for being here. We appreciate your time this morning.

I want to get right into it. We just heard about the software, made by smartmatic from Rudy, and I want to get your take on what you report, what you and I spoke about just a few minutes ago. And that is a gentleman named Peter Neffinger. Tell me how he fits into all of this.
Speaker F: Yes. Well, he is listed as its former Admiral Peter Neffinger, or retired Admiral Peter Neffinger. He is president and on the board of Smartmatic. And it just so happens he's on, Mr. Biden's presidential transition team. That's going to be non existent because we're fixing to overturn the results of the election in multiple states. States. And President Trump won by not just hundreds of thousands of votes, but by millions of votes that were shifted by this software that was designed expressly for that purpose.
Sandy Rios: All right, you guys might remember that Sydney used to be a frequent guest, on this show. but Sydney, they went after Sydney with a vengeance. They, smartmatic Dominion. They sued her, sued her, sued her. And, we are just now finding, just in the last six months, I'd say we are exposing the evidence that was in place even then. Rudy Giuliani wasn't wrong. They destroyed him, took, took away his law license. and so the destruction over these machines. And so I'll get to Maria's firing in just a second because I think it relates to that. But that's how bold Maria was at that time and remained bold.
Bruce Bartz: Fox News started talking about voting machines after the election
And so what happened was, others kept, started talking about these voting machines. And,
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): So, well, and, and if you remember, the, the problem with the voting machines is we had been told by the manufacturers Dominion and smartmatic that these voting machines cannot be interfaced or connected to the Internet. Because that was the fear is that you have an outside operator, say China or another hostile country or a group within our country that could connect through the Internet into the machine and change the votes. In other words, you go in and vote for President Trump. They could electronically go in there and change that vote to a vote for Joe Biden. And we were told over and over there is no way that these machines can be connected to the Internet. And then after the election, not just one, but multiple people did demonstrations that showed, oh, they absolutely can be connected to the Internet. And actually it was very easy to do. I remember seeing demonstrations where, the, you know, the tech person, did a couple of manipulations and within minutes, all of a sudden, here's the voting machine connected directly to the Internet.
Sandy Rios: Yes, and of course, I've covered that a lot and in fact I have. Twice I have run that conversation with two of the men who were involved in getting to the bottom of this. One was a former CIA, agent, brilliant guy, and the other was a guy from, he's, Martin is his name. His Last name and how they found. He's Venezuelan. They found the Venezuelans who invented this. They've gotten into the deep weeds with that. I can't stall on this. But we know now that they actually been manipulating elections for the last 20 years. And so now we know in retrospect, a lot of things with. At that time, Dominion started not. It wasn't in the DNA of the American people that there was a problem with these machines because we'd been told over and over again, no, no, no, no, it's all perfect and working well. And so, Dominion then and smartmatic start suing everyone. They sued all the networks. They sued radio networks. We have a friend that worked with WLS in Chicago, and he was forbidden from talking about, even in a passing word, talking anything about the machines or criticizing them in any way. So Fox was in litigation with them and ended up paying $785.5 million to settle and promised never to talk about them on the air. And in the process, their three big, their three big violators were Maria Bartiroma, Judge Jeanine and Lou Dobbs. So Judge Jeanine was fired and Lou Dobbs was as well. So now here's the thing that I want you to understand. We, know now that Fox News and Newsmax, too, were given a briefing, which I've seen. but it's a briefing on what happened with those machines, how it came out of the Venezuela to, to make sure that Hugo Chavez won because he was going to lose his power, and how then they decided it worked so well that they were going to transport it to other nations. And they did. And, then they targeted the United states. And for 20 years this has been happening. So anyway, so Fox. My point though, in that was that Fox didn't have to pay that settlement. There was enough evidence they could have won in court, but they chose not to. Why? You know, I find myself. Now, look, I don't know about this, but I'm just telling you, Fox is very, The Murdochs are very close to China. They do business with them. And it makes me wonder when that guy called the election from in Arizona, if he didn't know that it was already handled. You know, he probably knew it was already. I'm just guessing he might not have, but I sure would have made sense. All right, so. So that's what happened. And, people just stopped watching Fox. Just thousands, if not millions of people dropped off. They lost ratings, and it continued that way for several years. And now in the last Few years they begin. Their hosts have now been embracing President Trump and there are some that criticize him and there's nothing wrong with that. but they have been now sort of supporting his policies and making the case for the border and all those things. But now you might sense that things are changing again. You might see that things are changing. And one of the first, examples of this is the firing Maria, ah, Bartiroma. So now let's go back to, let's go back to what happened with her firing. Bruce. You've been looking at that. so what can you tell us about how firing. We don't know. That's the issue. We don't know if she was fired or what the circumstances were. Tell us what you know.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): Well, that's the thing is Fox News when, you know, you tune in to see Maria and all of a sudden she's not on the shows. And there was really no explanation except a very quick, note that we thank Maria Bartiromo for 12 and a half years with Fox News, and we wish her well. You know, the typical boilerplate things employers say when they fire people. Now, Fox is denying that they fired Maria Bartiromo. And Maria has, I think she's of the position that I was fired. You know, I was not allowed to go back on the air. Now you get into semantics. Like if she's still being paid, has she been fired or just removed? And according to sources, she still is being paid her salary. But let's, for us common folks, she got fired. She's no longer on with them.
Sandy Rios: You know, what I didn't explain in her case, in this case, what she did, what she did was remember when President Trump in early August made a speech on Thursday night about the fact that China had co opted taken, stolen 220 million Americans voter files. We also learned that they had imported 20 million fake driver's licenses. And all of that was to. That was before the 2020 election. And so we're learning all this. Remember, Tulsi, Gabbard, way back when President Trump was elected this time, one of the first statements she made was that they had about the voting machines and what they've been discovering and she was going to make that public. And she has. And we're learning more and more and more about it. So, President Trump, m Mentioned some of that. Then he talked about China. And so Maria Bartiroma, as I understand it, had asked, oh, why do I keep forgetting his name? Peter Navarro. Peter Navarro to be her Guest the very next morning, because Peter had been involved in election malfeasance in the voting machines and making it public what had happened. And then suddenly Fox sends out a memo. And, that memo. Do you have that memo, Bruce? I know what they said.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): Well, basically it was a memo to all their on air personalities and their production people that we will not be addressing what President Trump said in that speech. In other words, you know, he went on, Trump went on and said the election was stolen, the machines were, rigged, things like that. That's a giant story.
Fox News refused to cover President Trump's speech about election fraud
How do you ignore that? And yet Fox News, you know, President Trump went specifically on national TV that day, for the networks that would cover it to talk about the election fraud. And then the next day Fox turns around and refuses to cover it. And if you, you know, we were watching the next day and we kept waiting, where's the coverage of the speech? And there was none.
Sandy Rios: Acted like it never happened. Yeah.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): And now you find that there was a memo written to all those people saying, you will not talk about that speech.
Sandy Rios: Yeah, so I talked about this on the air. I told you guys that Fox did not cover it. Jesse Waters didn't say a word. None, of them said a word about it because they were under orders. Now we know why. And so Maria, then according to, I've heard a lot of stories, I believe this one is true, but we probably won't know till they go to court. She had sent a note or a message to Pete, to, Peter Navarro, that she could not have him on the next day because of this memo. And she sent him the memo. And as I understand it, then Peter sent it to the White House. And then, someone from the White House called Fox. And initially I thought that was like a whistleblower or whatever, somebody, a tattler. But I think it was someone who wanted to talk to Fox executives and ask them why and try to reason with them. So then that backfired because they've tracked that back to Maria. All right, so now they're accusing her of, breaching her contract, disloyalty, whatever. So, Ani, her, her, her attorney is Brian Friedman. He's the one that represented Tucker. He's kind of a fierce guy, the one she hired. What did he say about this?
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): All right, in response to Fox's actions, he issued a statement, Brian Friedman, her attorney, and said, for many years, Maria Bartiromo hosted three number one rated television shows on Fox channels. She has been, without question, one of the hardest working journalists throughout her award winning career, the irresponsible reports that have been published stating that Maria Bartiromo was fired and is no longer an employee of Fox are, absolutely and unequivocally false. Make no mistake, we have the receipts and witnesses and they will come out whether through the courthouse or otherwise. Those reporting her firing or the incredulous facts supporting that fiction have exhibited a complete and utter reckless disregard for the truth. And he signs it Brian Friedman, attorney from Maria Bartiromo.
Sandy Rios: Yeah, so that's, it's going to get interesting. I could just say that they are going to be, there's going to be a lawsuit. and so we'll all be watching. But I want to draw from this. not only Will personally, I will miss her so much. I hope Newsmax Max snatches her up. I would love that. But, I want to draw some conclusions here that I think are really important. I've been telling you for several months now that Fox is not, trustworthy. I've told you that some hosts are, but some hosts aren't. And there are subtle things that they are doing that I'm picking up on that have made me distrust them. And so, this whole thing with Maria has rekindled my concerns. Now I'll tell you this. The, the news department of Fox has never changed. If you listen to Fox News radio, Bruce, you should share that part.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): Oh my goodness. I listened to the local radio station here and they use the national Fox News radio feed for news at the top of the hour. And if you didn't hear who it was, you would swear it was cnn. They dislike the president so much. They love, they love all the liberal issues. They frame everything in the most negative way towards conservatives. It makes me sick that they use the moniker Fox News.
Sandy Rios: Yeah. So the news, you have to distinguish, and I know it's very confusing, but the editorial department of Fox that, that handles the news and decides what's what. The hosts do their own research and they have a little more independence. But the official news is not, has not changed. It has a real bias against conservatives. It's not just President Trump. Remember the board of directors is made up of Paul Rhyen, who used to be the speaker of the House, who had this tremendous animosity to Trump and others, I can't even remember the others, but that's one name on the other. That's and so, and then the, the Rudolph, Rupert Murdoch stepped down because of his age and his sons are now running it and they're definitely not conservative. So just know that. So here's the thing. So this cognitive dissonance has been taking place between the Suns and their own network. And I think any chance they have to change. Look at. They fired Lou Dobbs. they fired, Now they've taken away Maria Bartiroma. However that happened Tucker, when Tucker was really still good. You remember what a powerhouse Tucker was. He was so bold on Covid, and, he was just a lifeline during that time, actually. And I don't know what's happened to him now because you can't trust Tucker anymore. And so. But at that time he was good and Lou Dobbs was great. So, And Judge Janine, she was great. She was just such a truth teller. And they removed her. So just, think about these things. And I would just say they. They're no longer could be trusted. We also know that their polling has been bad for a long time. And I'm sure that comes out of the news department. You can't trust FOX Polls. And that's been the way for. I've just known that since that election. And so I'm just encouraging you to break your dependence on it. I know you have your favorite, hosts. We do, too, Bruce. And I love to listen to Jesse Waters. And I think Jesse's come a long way. I think he's changed. But you have to ask yourself this question, even with the host that you like, what are you not hearing? If they're censoring something so big as voter fraud in the 2020 election and the danger of the voting machines, because they're still in place. If they're not telling you that, what else are they not telling you?

And when you hear Jennifer Grifenhagen give news from the Pentagon, can you take that, as gospel? You can't. I can tell you already because she's, in the culture of the Pentagon, who has hated, you, know, President Trump and hated Pete Hexa. So I'm, I'm just. And it's bleeding over. And now it sounds like they're cracking down. And so I would recommend that you start looking to Newsmax. They have some great hosts. I watched them this morning, as a matter of fact, and, I never watched their morning show, and it was really terrific. There was a lot of great news in that. So.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): Well, there are three guys, maybe four now, that do, the evening shows. Finnerty, Greg.
Sandy Rios: Greg. Oh, yeah, well, yeah. Finner. Finnerty. Rob Finnerty.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): Rob Finnerty.
Sandy Rios: And, Rob Schmitt. And, Carl Higby.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): Is now on and Carl has really become a powerhouse. I wasn't so sure if he was going to work out, but, man, he's just great. And if you watch them, you'll really see some really hard, conservative opinion based on, I think, very good logic and very good reasoning.
Sandy Rios: And you'll hear things that you won't hear anywhere else that they'll cover. Also, Greg Kelly. You and I both like Greg Kelly.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): Yes, Greg Kelly.
Speaker F: Yes.
Sandy Rios: He has a very unusual approach, an interesting twist. He's the son of the former chief of police in NewSong York City, William Kelly. And so, he's very refreshing.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): He was a fighter pilot and he is, he, ah, can give you a great, perspective from the military on, on the war, that's going on now in Iran. I mean, he's just, he is really, really up on stuff that, US civilians really aren't aware of.
Sandy Rios: Yeah, he really, he really reports things you've never heard. You'll talk about what's going on, but he, he'll find other things. It's really refreshing.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): And once in a while they have someone on, I know doing little hits. I think some woman named Sandy Rios is on there once in a while.
Sandy Rios: Former Fox News contributor is now at Newsmax.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): Yeah, you traitor.
Sandy Rios: That's true. I hardly ever tell the audience. I never can remember to tell them. So watch for me on Newsmax. But, okay, so there's other outlets now if you want to write this down or if you want to rewind as you're listening, you know, you can do that on a podcast. the, this is not an exclusive list. These are the ones that just came to the top of my mind, today. Newsmax, of course, for television. One America now too. One America News. By the way, they were kicked off the network when they were sued. the cable, outlets kicked them off. They were doing really well. They are really true blue and Real America's Voice, that's another one. Real America's Voice. and so also Jon Solomon who's been working. Jon, is just a real true journalist and he's been working at the White House. He's like a special employee of the Trump administration because they've been digging into these files, these thousands and thousands and thousands of pages, to discover all kinds of evidence against, some of the, like the, the James Comey and all other other kinds of people that nobody has the patience to look for. But Jon has a team, but he has a news outlet called Just the News. And he's getting ready to expand and even make his news outlet bigger. They're excellent. So just the news and then, the new a print outlet that I really like is Western Journal. I've, I've watched them for years, but they're better and better. They're really good now. Western Journal is good and Post Millennial is good. The Blaze is great. And so, that's a start. you don't have to watch Fox to get your news. And when you watch them, you're not going to get all the news. You're just going to get what they want you to hear.
Sandy Reels 24: Try Newsmax ahead of midterm elections
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): So may I make a suggestion for a new network?
Sandy Rios: Yes.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): I think that Sandy, and Maria Bartiromo might be a good match because if you recall, Sandy's told you before, when she was in high school, she worked at the Jack and Jill dress shop in Little Carmi, Illinois. And at the end of the summer she actually ended up owing money to them rather than making money because she bought so many of the dresses. Well, Maria Bartiromo, when she was going to school, she worked at a dress shop that specialized in wedding dresses. And she learned a lesson because they fired her because she was trying on the dresses before she hung them up to sell them.
Sandy Rios: That was the biggest dress store, bridal, store in NewSong York City that you see on say yes to the Dress. She is where she worked. I've forgotten about that.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): Maybe you guys are a natural man.
Sandy Rios: I think so. We could get in trouble together. I'd like, I, I really enjoy her. I think I would enjoy her as a friend, but I don't think that's going to happen. But I just wanted to give you that food to thought, a food for thought. and I hope this helps you to assess and we'll be watching to see what happens with Maria and branch out. Try, try Newsmax. I think you'll be surprised. Now there may be some hosts that you don't like. So just don't, don't judge there. I guess in there, the earlier stages where Fox was earlier. Fox has had now years to kind of upgrade their talent and their sets and all of that. And Newsmax is in that process. But they have great hosts for the most part. They're really, really terrific. So I really advise that you try them out. And I think I'm done. You have anything else to say, honey?
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): No, just you know, it kind of breaks our heart because as you said, you had a seven year relationship working for Fox and you know, we've all kind of grown up from a conservative view on Fox. And to see them drift like this, and not just drift, but actually really censor the news now is really tough to take. But I'm with you. I am sold on Newsmax now.
Sandy Rios: Yeah, okay, so remember we have ah, a midterm election in 50 something days and that's scary. And you're not, you're going to hear people getting bashed. I had a headline from Fox this morning. Now this is not really bad, but I remember this will get worse I think. Four rules that could decide the midterms as voters sour on Trump's economy before November. Now that may not sound so horrible but I think you'll see when you watch the headlines that the, the editorial comments are going to be tilting away from Trump and the conservatives now that the rhinos, they'll get great coverage like Jon Thune will be a hero. but, but the others will not be. So just be wise. Wise as servants and harmless as doves. But that is definitely a beautiful scripture and that's what we need to do in this case. Wanna thank you for joining me.

Speaker B: There's no real intel yet on what led to the move and if it was ultimately murdered Maria's decision or the network's. She's been silent on social media for weeks and last made an on air appearance almost a month ago on August 9th.

Speaker B: Sunday morning Futures ET has learned Fox will rebrand any shows using her name and fill in anchors will cover those various time slots, mostly finance focused programs that became more and more political in recent years. As Maria, the first person to ever broadcast from the floor of the NewSong York Stock Exchange, who spent 20 years as CNBC's Money Honey, voiced her support for President Donald, Trump's agenda.
Maria Bartiromo: Get the Save America act movie.
Sandy Rios: Okay, well that was. I've never heard a news or program or a program like Entertainment Tonight that makes something so tragic so happy. So happy. They make it sound so happy. But for many of us, the loss of Maria Bartiroma on Fox, Fox, network is really heartbreaking and also signals something much worse. And I want to talk about all of that today. I've had a certainly I worked for Fox for about seven years. I have some insights but I don't have, I want to say right up front I don't have any personal insight on Maria, Maria's whatever the fact that she's gone, whatever circumstance caused her to be gone. I don't have any personal thing that you can't read somewhere. So I'm going to be speculating and I'm going to give you some background on Fox and then I want to help you at the end to kind of think about what you're listening to, considering that we are hurtling toward the midterms. And so that's what we're going to be doing today.
Massachusetts Governor Healy signed legislation allowing abortion up through birth
But first, well, something really horrible happened, in August, August 10th, actually, and I'm not sure I ever talked to you about it, but it's the fact that Massachusetts Governor Healy signed legislation that the headline says strengthening abortion protections in Massachusetts. But in fact, it was allowing abortion up through the ninth month, up through birth. And it was, she was surrounded by lots of actually really young women just beaming, just smiling as, she's signing this horrendous bill. And honestly, this seems to be the drift of our culture. You know, we've really fought, those of us in the pro life movement had fought for a long time to bring it back, to pull it back, to pull it back. And we finally passed Roe versus Wade. And now the choices went to each of the states, and the choices are make, the states, many of them are making terrible choices on the matter of choice. And so Massachusetts is the, the leader, I guess, in the most horrendous finding of any state in the union right now.

Maria Bartiromo: Sunday morning, everyone. Welcome to Sunday Morning Futures. I'm Maria Bartiromo.
Sandy Rios: Well, you know what? It makes me so sad to hear that for that's just one of the three shows that Maria has hosted on Fox. But that was the one that I really listened to every Sunday. That's the sound I heard come back, from church. I had recorded it and I learned so much because Maria and I were pretty much on the same page. She was a real straight talker. She covered, you know, the, the, voting machine problems, the voting Covid. the Iraq, the Iran war. She would just bold and she would say things that maybe other hosts wouldn't say. And I learned to trust her. And of course, she, she really is a consummate pro. Just think about that. She's had. She had three shows, Mornings with Maria, Sunday morning Futures, and also Maria Bartiromo. M. Maria Bartiromo's Wallnua Street. Three shows. She said in another clip, I think we just heard that she did 17 hours on the air each week. And I, can just tell you right up front, the prep for that. The prep for that is enormous. So she was born in Brooklyn. Her dad was, owned a little Italian restaurant and she helped her family. It was a family business and she used to work in the restaurant. So she comes from a very like, I guess, middle class but humble past and, worked her way up, ended up going to, I think, NewSong York University. I think that's the one she went to. Got degrees in finance and I think and another degree as well. So she was well equipped, understands the political scene, the finances, and boy, will she be missed. So what happened there? What happened? we're going to talk about that, but not quite yet because I want to tell you a story first.
I, I think maybe, uh, it's best if we go back and talk about Fox
I, I think maybe, it's best if we go back and talk about Fox and the. The iteration of it. Oh, and by the way, my husband is with me. My husband Bruce. Hi, honey. Good morning.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): Hey, good morning. Good to be here.
Sandy Rios: so, Bruce, I'm gonna. You'll know some of this story. So I probably do a narrative here, but if I. If you need to correct me, jump in. Okay. If I get something wrong. Okay.
Sandy Cohen started talking about Fox News incessantly in the 90s
All right. So I was on the radio in Chicago in the 90s. You've heard me say that, have you not? And I would go home and visit my parents in our little town of, six, thousand. And my dad was crazy about this new network. It was called Folks Fox. Folks Fox. And the lead, anchor was Bill O'Reilly. And he was great. I would watch it. I was. I think when I'd go home, I can't wait to see Fox News. Because they were saying things that the networks never said. It was refreshing. So when I went back on to get back up to Chicago to get on the air again, I started talking about Fox incessantly. And I went on a campaign to bring them to Chicago. For heaven's sake. We need another, fresh news voice. And this is the one. And eventually that did happen. I was very, very happy. And so, Fox became. It just grew and grew, and it really was, a network where you could trust them, and they told the truth, and they had a view that most Americans had. And so it just grew and grew and grew until it was the number one cable news network. And it still is, as a matter of fact. So when I went to. When I moved to Washington, D.C. as president of Concerned Women for America in 2001, they had really, really, really grown to a powerhouse well known by everyone. And they used to say, fair and balanced. Remember fair and balanced? And they, for the most part, were. But the one topic that they were real skittish on was homosexuality. They were based in NewSong York City. And, one of the last appearances, maybe the last appearance I did on the Bill O'Reilly show was I was talking about Ellen DeGeneres being the spokesperson for JCPenney. And he asked me to be, his guest, but he just hounded me about. This is his words now, Sandy, don't do any gay bashing. Like. Like I do gay bashing. But that's what he kept saying, even in my ear, right before I went on the air. He came in my ear because I was in remote, in Chicago and he was in NewSong York. Don't know, Sandy, don't say anything. I said, bill, I won't I will just tell the truth. I'm not going to bash Ellen. So, I went on the air and he. Anyway, that's a whole story. That's actually how I ended up at American Family Radio. I was very upset by the way he talked over me and did not let me make my points. But that really was the atmosphere at Fox. They were scared to death of anything regarding that. So with that as the backdrop in 2001, sometime in 2002, I was in my office working when my staff ran in and said that turn, on the television quickly, because down in Texas, they have, they have overturned the sodomy law. Now all eyes were on that case. It was called Lawrence v. Texas because Texas had some real strict laws about homosexuality. And that's how they referred to it. Sodomy permitting, not permitting sodomy, between two men. And so we knew our minds better than mine. Many attorneys knew that this was the gateway to gay marriage. Don't ask me to lay that out. I won't. But I understood that, too. So, I sat on the couch then and started watching Fox's coverage. And they had not one, not two, but three attorneys cheering on this decision. And, so we called Bill Shine, who was the head of the news division at that time. And I told him, I said, bill, you're supposed to be fair and balanced. What is this? And I've been their guest a lot. So they knew me. I said, that's not fair and balanced. You had, just what I said to you. You didn't have just one or two. You had three attorneys with no dissent on this issue. And so he asked me to be on, Hannity and Combs. Remember Hannity and Combs? That's before Hannity had his own show. Allen Combs was the very liberal, really nice guy, but very liberal, co host for Shawn. So it was a counterpoint show. And so they put me on the show when I've been on it many times, but they kept making me wait. And I waited and I waited. And it was toward the very end of the show, and they gave me just a very short, like, couple of minutes, and I. It was really frustrating because I had to, you know, talk rapidly. I couldn't lay out the case. And the next morning I went to back to work, and my staff, said, do you know what they did to you last night? And I said, no, what? They said, they turned your face green. They turned your face green. And they had recorded it. We all watched it, and it was like Just my face. And it was like, the green of the Wicked Witch of the North. Okay, so.
So then here we go back to Bill Shine. The green face incident. It was no accident
So then here we go back to Bill Shine. What in the world, Bill? I didn't. My staff called. What are you doing? And he said, oh, they. They said they would investigate. So then they came back and finally said, oh, you know, it was just an accident. It was. Whatever. It was no accident. It was no accident. But anyway, so what happened when I. Few, years later, I ended up. Bill actually offered me a job. M. To be a Fox News contributor. That's how that started. Our relationship really blossomed from that. The green face incident. But so when I went to NewSong York to interview, actually have a personal interview with Bill and with, Roger Ailes, I have to tell you, I had a great interview with Bill. It was actually pretty hostile with me at first. And then he finally. I think I won him over just because I was being honest with him. And then he had me go in to talk with Roger Ailes, who was the president. And we had a very nice conversation. And my concern, which is what I shared with him, I said, roger, I'm. I am a, Christian. that's the source of my strength. That's the, Out of that, my understanding of Scripture pours my comments and everything that I say. And, if I am not allowed, you know, to talk about that when it's important or when it's relevant, then I can't do this. And he said, sandy, you can listen. And he shared some personal things with. He's gone now. I could just say that he said, you know, I. I understand Christianity. I think I did come to Christ too. But as we know, he had a lot of failings in his personal life. I didn't see those, any of that when I was there. But, he said, absolutely. That's absolutely my full permission.
Fox wanted me to fill in for Tony Snow when he died of cancer
So later when, Tony Snow died, he had a. Many of. You will remember, Tony had been the press secretary, I think, for President Bush. And he was just so charming and quick. And they, gave him a talk show on Fox, which is very, very popular. Then suddenly Tony died of, cancer. And they wanted me to be. Fill in for him. Not fill in, but take his show, which was amazing. You think about that. And so, they asked me again to come back for an interview. And this time they have a different gentleman who was over the radio. And Bill had recommended me. Bill Shine. He was the. The guy over the news, the executive vice president and the guy that was over the radio. Network was extremely liberal. And so he was not real crazy about me. His famous, famous. His favorite host, he told me this was Allen Combs. And Allen Combs was a rabid leftist. So, I didn't get that. I didn't get that job. But I. That. That was my background with Fox. Now fast forward to the 2020 election, and many, many moons had passed since all of that had happened. I was with Fox for seven years and loved it, actually.
Fox and Friends turned against President Trump after his presidency for 2016
and so, in fact, Bruce, we should tell the story about, being in Istanbul. You want to tell that story? I'll let you tell that story.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): So Sandy and I were traveling, and we were in Istanbul, Turkey. And it had been a long day. We'd done a lot of walking, a lot of sightseeing. But Sandy needed to get some. Some gifts for some people. And they have what's called the Grand Bazaar there. It's just a huge area with tents and vendors who sell all kinds of things, including T shirts. Sandy wanted to get some T shirts. She walked into the Grand Bazaar and went to the very first vendor that sold T shirts. And the vendor there, he's talking, in Turkish, and he's not conversing in English with Sandy as she's looking. And all of a sudden he turns to her, points at her, and in very good English goes, I see you on tv, cnn. And he recognized Sandy from seeing her on cable TV in Turkey on Fox.
Sandy Rios: That Fox was in TV on Fox.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): But he had it wrong. He goes, on cnn. And she goes, no, on Fox.
Sandy Rios: Anyway, I knew it. Anyway, I'm m. Laughing. I mean, that was just pretty astounding. But that's how big Fox was. And they were in Europe and a lot of. And that was really good because people were actually hearing conservative news in other countries for the first time. All right, so fast forward to the 2020 election. So you have to understand that things had changed by that time. And Fox, was still run. Rupert Murdoch, who's Australian, was still the owner. Rupert is not a conservative. He's actually. He owned, you know, he's the owner of Fox tv. If you watch that, you know, it had a lot of questionable moral programs on it. So that's the guy that owned Fox News, but a conservative news cable outlet was a good money maker, so. But he wasn't in tune. So, Roger Ailes was, though, a very strong conservative. He'd been the producer for Rush Limbaugh for many, many years. So that gives you the background on this. But by the time 22, 2022 came around. Roger Ailes. Roger, Ailes. Rupert Murdoch did not like President Trump. He said, as a matter of fact, I don't know if this is public until later. He said, we want to make Donald Trump a non person. And so the anchors just actually turned against President Trump after his presidency for 2016. And, Peter Doocy. I'm not Peter, but his father. His father. What was his name on Fox and Mr. Doocy. Mr. Doocy Senior. We knew him so well. I mean, isn't it funny now his son's more famous than he is. But, the Fox and Friends completely started trashing President Trump. And so did Brett Baer, and so did Martha McCallum and certainly so did Jennifer Grifenhagen. And there were more. I can't even name them all, but it was really upsetting. And I picked that up maybe more than some people did. It was subtle, but it was there. And so takes.
That takes us to election night, I guess, 2019. President Trump has a healthy lead
That takes us to election night, I guess, 2019. And actually we were home here with friends and I was. We were in Florida by that time. We moved here in, 2016, right after the 2016 election. So election night of 2019, we're sitting there and we're watching and a. President Trump has a healthy lead and it's look like, looks like it going. It's going well. But Fox's, news reporter, election reporter. What was his name, honey?
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): Arnon.
Sandy Rios: Arnan something.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): Yeah.
Sandy Rios: Anyway, I received him before. I'd never seen him before. And when he would report bad news, he had kind of a smirk on his face that already bothered me. You know, I pick up other things that maybe are not scientific.

But so then again, it comes to
Maria Bartiromo: Arizona.
Sandy Rios: and so, it, Arizona at that time was. It was. President Trump was behind with less than 1% of the vote in. And there were three more hours of voting. And I want to what you to hear what actually happened. This. Listen, it was. Clip 6.

Sandy Rios: I think a lot of people still aren't totally sure about Arizona either. Some people think that may have been called a little too early.
Speaker E: I'm not certain.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): I disagree with the call, but I
Speaker E: think maybe it's a little premature.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): I'd be careful to understand how many more votes are out there. I'm confident the desk is doing that, but, this is one where a little bit of caution might be useful.
Speaker E: I know other networks have called. We haven't. And I think we're very wise in doing so. I know this, this network takes that responsibility very seriously, as they should. And I'm very proud to be affiliated with that because I think, the call of Arizona, from what I'm hearing, is premature. Arizona, are you 100% sure of that call and when you made it? And why did you make it? Absolutely, we've made it after basically a half hour of debating. Is it time yet? Because it was. It's, it's been clear for a while that the former vice president is in the lead in Arizona and was most likely to, to win the state. It has been in the category that we call knowable but not callable for about an hour.
Sandy Rios: Yes. So there you go. And as I said, there were three more hours of voting and less than 1% of the votes were in. So why is that bad? Bruce Rather, why is that bad?
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): Well, that was Arnon Mishkin, who was a Fox, ah, election person. And as you say, and we really need to make this clear, the polls had not closed in Arizona when they made this call. There were three more hours of voting when Michigan said, well, we're going to call this for, Vice President Trump, I mean, Biden. And think of all the people that may have been standing in line, especially when you get to places like Maricopa county, which has been notorious over the years for long lines of voters, having to wait because they have equipment malfunctions, allegedly. And, people are told to go other places to vote because the machines have broken down. So, you know, if you're standing in a line in Arizona and you get the word that, hey, the election's already been called, Biden won, and you're intending to vote for Trump, why would you stand there and wait to vote for Trump other than just because you want to do your duty? But you can imagine how many people turned around and went home because of this Fox, because they're trusting fox. So many people think, well, Fox News says it, they're the ones that carry the water for the conservative movement. So if they say Trump has lost his state, then he's lost his state.
Sandy Rios: So that's what they did. And of course, we know now, Arizona was one of the hotbeds of election fraud, ah, voting machine fraud and all of this, as was Georgia, as was Pennsylvania. I mean, other, other fraud as well, of mailing, votings and all those things. But, you know, we didn't know that then.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): And you know what was interesting about that, clip, you just played is the first voice was Sarah Sanders talking about, it's too early to call it. Then it was Karl Rove. Karl Rove says, I'm not sure we should be calling it.
Sandy Rios: And he's no fan of Trump, and
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): he's no fan of Trump, believe me. But the third voice was former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum. Now, the clip you heard, he was sitting with the CNN people, not the Fox people, and he is saying, CNN is not calling this Arizona, election for Trump, for Biden yet. It's too early. That's cnn. You know, they were dying to call it for Biden, but even they held back and did not call it for Biden that early in the evening.
Sandy Rios: Yeah. So, so that's what they did. And, then, of course, the voting was stopped, which had never happened in our nation's history. Now, I'm not blaming Fox for this. Everywhere it shut down, except, of course, in Georgia, where they kept counting ballots. We saw those videos and I think other places as well. It was a very. You, know. Now we know it's because President Trump was winning by so much that they had not planned the margins of their cheating enough, and they needed more time to find more votes. We know that now in retrospect, and a lot of it had to do with the, with the voting machines. So we found that out later. And, Actually, you know what? Let's, play clip one, just the first part, and then I'll. If you've got it in the, in the machine there, and I, I will interrupt it because I want you to hear how Maria covered this, just before. This was at right. Really, really close to after the election, between the election and the inauguration. Okay. Clip one.
Texas rejected using Dominion voting machines three times over concerns about security
Maria Bartiromo: Welcome back. According to public records, Dominion voting machines are used in 2000 jurisdict jurisdictions in 30 states. According to experts, if one site has a flaw, other sites are likely to as well. Which is why Texas rejected using Dominion software three times, raising concerns that the system was not safe from fraudulent or unauthorized manipulation. That's troubling, given we already know that at least two software glitches in Georgia and Michigan occurred on election night. Attorney, Sidney Powell is leading the charge against Dominion, and she says she has enough evidence of fraud to launch a massive criminal investigation. Sydney, thanks very much for being here. We appreciate your time this morning.
We just heard about the software, uh, made by smartmatic from Rudy
I want to get right into it. We just heard about the software, made by smartmatic from Rudy, and I want to get your take on what you report, what you and I spoke about just a few minutes ago. And that is a gentleman named Peter Neffinger. Tell me how he fits into all of this.
Speaker F: Yes. Well, he is listed as its former Admiral Peter Neffinger, or retired Admiral Peter Neffinger. He is president and on the board of Smartmatic. And it just so happens he's on, Mr. Biden's presidential transition team. That's going to be non existent because we're fixing to overturn the results of the election in multiple states. States. And President Trump won by not just hundreds of thousands of votes, but by millions of votes that were shifted by this software that was designed expressly for that purpose.
Sandy Rios: All right, you guys might remember that Sydney used to be a frequent guest, on this show. but Sydney, they went after Sydney with a vengeance. They, smartmatic Dominion. They sued her, sued her, sued her. And, we are just now finding, just in the last six months, I'd say we are exposing the evidence that was in place even then. Rudy Giuliani wasn't wrong. They destroyed him, took, took away his law license. and so the destruction over these machines. And so I'll get to Maria's firing in just a second because I think it relates to that. But that's how bold Maria was at that time and remained bold.
Bruce Bartz: Fox News started talking about voting machines after the election
And so what happened was, others kept, started talking about these voting machines. And,
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): So, well, and, and if you remember, the, the problem with the voting machines is we had been told by the manufacturers Dominion and smartmatic that these voting machines cannot be interfaced or connected to the Internet. Because that was the fear is that you have an outside operator, say China or another hostile country or a group within our country that could connect through the Internet into the machine and change the votes. In other words, you go in and vote for President Trump. They could electronically go in there and change that vote to a vote for Joe Biden. And we were told over and over there is no way that these machines can be connected to the Internet. And then after the election, not just one, but multiple people did demonstrations that showed, oh, they absolutely can be connected to the Internet. And actually it was very easy to do. I remember seeing demonstrations where, the, you know, the tech person, did a couple of manipulations and within minutes, all of a sudden, here's the voting machine connected directly to the Internet.
Sandy Rios: Yes, and of course, I've covered that a lot and in fact I have. Twice I have run that conversation with two of the men who were involved in getting to the bottom of this. One was a former CIA, agent, brilliant guy, and the other was a guy from, he's, Martin is his name. His Last name and how they found. He's Venezuelan. They found the Venezuelans who invented this. They've gotten into the deep weeds with that. I can't stall on this. But we know now that they actually been manipulating elections for the last 20 years. And so now we know in retrospect, a lot of things with. At that time, Dominion started not. It wasn't in the DNA of the American people that there was a problem with these machines because we'd been told over and over again, no, no, no, no, it's all perfect and working well. And so, Dominion then and smartmatic start suing everyone. They sued all the networks. They sued radio networks. We have a friend that worked with WLS in Chicago, and he was forbidden from talking about, even in a passing word, talking anything about the machines or criticizing them in any way. So Fox was in litigation with them and ended up paying $785.5 million to settle and promised never to talk about them on the air. And in the process, their three big, their three big violators were Maria Bartiroma, Judge Jeanine and Lou Dobbs. So Judge Jeanine was fired and Lou Dobbs was as well. So now here's the thing that I want you to understand. We, know now that Fox News and Newsmax, too, were given a briefing, which I've seen. but it's a briefing on what happened with those machines, how it came out of the Venezuela to, to make sure that Hugo Chavez won because he was going to lose his power, and how then they decided it worked so well that they were going to transport it to other nations. And they did. And, then they targeted the United states. And for 20 years this has been happening. So anyway, so Fox. My point though, in that was that Fox didn't have to pay that settlement. There was enough evidence they could have won in court, but they chose not to. Why? You know, I find myself. Now, look, I don't know about this, but I'm just telling you, Fox is very, The Murdochs are very close to China. They do business with them. And it makes me wonder when that guy called the election from in Arizona, if he didn't know that it was already handled. You know, he probably knew it was already. I'm just guessing he might not have, but I sure would have made sense. All right, so. So that's what happened. And, people just stopped watching Fox. Just thousands, if not millions of people dropped off. They lost ratings, and it continued that way for several years. And now in the last Few years they begin. Their hosts have now been embracing President Trump and there are some that criticize him and there's nothing wrong with that. but they have been now sort of supporting his policies and making the case for the border and all those things. But now you might sense that things are changing again. You might see that things are changing. And one of the first, examples of this is the firing Maria, ah, Bartiroma. So now let's go back to, let's go back to what happened with her firing. Bruce. You've been looking at that. so what can you tell us about how firing. We don't know. That's the issue. We don't know if she was fired or what the circumstances were. Tell us what you know.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): Well, that's the thing is Fox News when, you know, you tune in to see Maria and all of a sudden she's not on the shows. And there was really no explanation except a very quick, note that we thank Maria Bartiromo for 12 and a half years with Fox News, and we wish her well. You know, the typical boilerplate things employers say when they fire people. Now, Fox is denying that they fired Maria Bartiromo. And Maria has, I think she's of the position that I was fired. You know, I was not allowed to go back on the air. Now you get into semantics. Like if she's still being paid, has she been fired or just removed? And according to sources, she still is being paid her salary. But let's, for us common folks, she got fired. She's no longer on with them.
Sandy Rios: You know, what I didn't explain in her case, in this case, what she did, what she did was remember when President Trump in early August made a speech on Thursday night about the fact that China had co opted taken, stolen 220 million Americans voter files. We also learned that they had imported 20 million fake driver's licenses. And all of that was to. That was before the 2020 election. And so we're learning all this. Remember, Tulsi, Gabbard, way back when President Trump was elected this time, one of the first statements she made was that they had about the voting machines and what they've been discovering and she was going to make that public. And she has. And we're learning more and more and more about it. So, President Trump, m Mentioned some of that. Then he talked about China. And so Maria Bartiroma, as I understand it, had asked, oh, why do I keep forgetting his name? Peter Navarro. Peter Navarro to be her Guest the very next morning, because Peter had been involved in election malfeasance in the voting machines and making it public what had happened. And then suddenly Fox sends out a memo. And, that memo. Do you have that memo, Bruce? I know what they said.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): Well, basically it was a memo to all their on air personalities and their production people that we will not be addressing what President Trump said in that speech. In other words, you know, he went on, Trump went on and said the election was stolen, the machines were, rigged, things like that. That's a giant story.
Fox News refused to cover President Trump's speech about election fraud
How do you ignore that? And yet Fox News, you know, President Trump went specifically on national TV that day, for the networks that would cover it to talk about the election fraud. And then the next day Fox turns around and refuses to cover it. And if you, you know, we were watching the next day and we kept waiting, where's the coverage of the speech? And there was none.
Sandy Rios: Acted like it never happened. Yeah.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): And now you find that there was a memo written to all those people saying, you will not talk about that speech.
Sandy Rios: Yeah, so I talked about this on the air. I told you guys that Fox did not cover it. Jesse Waters didn't say a word. None, of them said a word about it because they were under orders. Now we know why. And so Maria, then according to, I've heard a lot of stories, I believe this one is true, but we probably won't know till they go to court. She had sent a note or a message to Pete, to, Peter Navarro, that she could not have him on the next day because of this memo. And she sent him the memo. And as I understand it, then Peter sent it to the White House. And then, someone from the White House called Fox. And initially I thought that was like a whistleblower or whatever, somebody, a tattler. But I think it was someone who wanted to talk to Fox executives and ask them why and try to reason with them. So then that backfired because they've tracked that back to Maria. All right, so now they're accusing her of, breaching her contract, disloyalty, whatever. So, Ani, her, her, her attorney is Brian Friedman. He's the one that represented Tucker. He's kind of a fierce guy, the one she hired. What did he say about this?
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): All right, in response to Fox's actions, he issued a statement, Brian Friedman, her attorney, and said, for many years, Maria Bartiromo hosted three number one rated television shows on Fox channels. She has been, without question, one of the hardest working journalists throughout her award winning career, the irresponsible reports that have been published stating that Maria Bartiromo was fired and is no longer an employee of Fox are, absolutely and unequivocally false. Make no mistake, we have the receipts and witnesses and they will come out whether through the courthouse or otherwise. Those reporting her firing or the incredulous facts supporting that fiction have exhibited a complete and utter reckless disregard for the truth. And he signs it Brian Friedman, attorney from Maria Bartiromo.
Sandy Rios: Yeah, so that's, it's going to get interesting. I could just say that they are going to be, there's going to be a lawsuit. and so we'll all be watching. But I want to draw from this. not only Will personally, I will miss her so much. I hope Newsmax Max snatches her up. I would love that. But, I want to draw some conclusions here that I think are really important. I've been telling you for several months now that Fox is not, trustworthy. I've told you that some hosts are, but some hosts aren't. And there are subtle things that they are doing that I'm picking up on that have made me distrust them. And so, this whole thing with Maria has rekindled my concerns. Now I'll tell you this. The, the news department of Fox has never changed. If you listen to Fox News radio, Bruce, you should share that part.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): Oh my goodness. I listened to the local radio station here and they use the national Fox News radio feed for news at the top of the hour. And if you didn't hear who it was, you would swear it was cnn. They dislike the president so much. They love, they love all the liberal issues. They frame everything in the most negative way towards conservatives. It makes me sick that they use the moniker Fox News.
Sandy Rios: Yeah. So the news, you have to distinguish, and I know it's very confusing, but the editorial department of Fox that, that handles the news and decides what's what. The hosts do their own research and they have a little more independence. But the official news is not, has not changed. It has a real bias against conservatives. It's not just President Trump. Remember the board of directors is made up of Paul Rhyen, who used to be the speaker of the House, who had this tremendous animosity to Trump and others, I can't even remember the others, but that's one name on the other. That's and so, and then the, the Rudolph, Rupert Murdoch stepped down because of his age and his sons are now running it and they're definitely not conservative. So just know that. So here's the thing. So this cognitive dissonance has been taking place between the Suns and their own network. And I think any chance they have to change. Look at. They fired Lou Dobbs. they fired, Now they've taken away Maria Bartiroma. However that happened Tucker, when Tucker was really still good. You remember what a powerhouse Tucker was. He was so bold on Covid, and, he was just a lifeline during that time, actually. And I don't know what's happened to him now because you can't trust Tucker anymore. And so. But at that time he was good and Lou Dobbs was great. So, And Judge Janine, she was great. She was just such a truth teller. And they removed her. So just, think about these things. And I would just say they. They're no longer could be trusted. We also know that their polling has been bad for a long time. And I'm sure that comes out of the news department. You can't trust FOX Polls. And that's been the way for. I've just known that since that election. And so I'm just encouraging you to break your dependence on it. I know you have your favorite, hosts. We do, too, Bruce. And I love to listen to Jesse Waters. And I think Jesse's come a long way. I think he's changed. But you have to ask yourself this question, even with the host that you like, what are you not hearing? If they're censoring something so big as voter fraud in the 2020 election and the danger of the voting machines, because they're still in place. If they're not telling you that, what else are they not telling you?

And now it sounds like they're cracking down. And so I would recommend that you start looking to Newsmax. They have some great hosts. I watched them this morning, as a matter of fact, and, I never watched their morning show, and it was really terrific. There was a lot of great news in that. So.

Sandy Rios: And, Rob Schmitt. And, Carl Higby.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): Is now on and Carl has really become a powerhouse. I wasn't so sure if he was going to work out, but, man, he's just great. And if you watch them, you'll really see some really hard, conservative opinion based on, I think, very good logic and very good reasoning.
Sandy Rios: And you'll hear things that you won't hear anywhere else that they'll cover. Also, Greg Kelly. You and I both like Greg Kelly.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): Yes, Greg Kelly.
Speaker F: Yes.
Sandy Rios: He has a very unusual approach, an interesting twist. He's the son of the former chief of police in NewSong York City, William Kelly. And so, he's very refreshing.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): He was a fighter pilot and he is, he, ah, can give you a great, perspective from the military on, on the war, that's going on now in Iran. I mean, he's just, he is really, really up on stuff that, US civilians really aren't aware of.
Sandy Rios: Yeah, he really, he really reports things you've never heard. You'll talk about what's going on, but he, he'll find other things. It's really refreshing.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): And once in a while they have someone on, I know doing little hits. I think some woman named Sandy Rios is on there once in a while.
Sandy Rios: Former Fox News contributor is now at Newsmax.

Sandy Rios: That's true. I hardly ever tell the audience. I never can remember to tell them. So watch for me on Newsmax. But, okay, so there's other outlets now if you want to write this down or if you want to rewind as you're listening, you know, you can do that on a podcast. the, this is not an exclusive list. These are the ones that just came to the top of my mind, today. Newsmax, of course, for television. One America now too. One America News. By the way, they were kicked off the network when they were sued. the cable, outlets kicked them off. They were doing really well. They are really true blue and Real America's Voice, that's another one. Real America's Voice. and so also Jon Solomon who's been working. Jon, is just a real true journalist and he's been working at the White House. He's like a special employee of the Trump administration because they've been digging into these files, these thousands and thousands and thousands of pages, to discover all kinds of evidence against, some of the, like the, the James Comey and all other other kinds of people that nobody has the patience to look for. But Jon has a team, but he has a news outlet called Just the News. And he's getting ready to expand and even make his news outlet bigger. They're excellent. So just the news and then, the new a print outlet that I really like is Western Journal. I've, I've watched them for years, but they're better and better. They're really good now. Western Journal is good and Post Millennial is good. The Blaze is great. And so, that's a start. you don't have to watch Fox to get your news. And when you watch them, you're not going to get all the news. You're just going to get what they want you to hear.

Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): So may I make a suggestion for a new network?
Sandy Rios: Yes.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): I think that Sandy, and Maria Bartiromo might be a good match because if you recall, Sandy's told you before, when she was in high school, she worked at the Jack and Jill dress shop in Little Carmi, Illinois. And at the end of the summer she actually ended up owing money to them rather than making money because she bought so many of the dresses. Well, Maria Bartiromo, when she was going to school, she worked at a dress shop that specialized in wedding dresses. And she learned a lesson because they fired her because she was trying on the dresses before she hung them up to sell them.
Sandy Rios: That was the biggest dress store, bridal, store in NewSong York City that you see on say yes to the Dress. She is where she worked. I've forgotten about that.
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): Maybe you guys are a natural man.
Sandy Rios: I think so. We could get in trouble together. I'd like, I, I really enjoy her. I think I would enjoy her as a friend, but I don't think that's going to happen. I think you'll be surprised. Now there may be some hosts that you don't like. So just don't, don't judge there. I guess in there, the earlier stages where Fox was earlier. Fox has had now years to kind of upgrade their talent and their sets and all of that. And Newsmax is in that process. But they have great hosts for the most part. They're really, really terrific. So I really advise that you try them out. And I think I'm done. You have anything else to say, honey?
Bruce (Sandy Rios' husband): No, just you know, it kind of breaks our heart because as you said, you had a seven year relationship working for Fox and you know, we've all kind of grown up from a conservative view on Fox. And to see them drift like this, and not just drift, but actually really censor the news now is really tough to take. But I'm with you. I am sold on Newsmax now.
Sandy Rios: Yeah, okay, so remember we have ah, a midterm election in 50 something days and that's scary. And you're not, you're going to hear people getting bashed. I had a headline from Fox this morning. Now this is not really bad, but I remember this will get worse I think. Four rules that could decide the midterms as voters sour on Trump's economy before November. Now that may not sound so horrible but I think you'll see when you watch the headlines that the, the editorial comments are going to be tilting away from Trump and the conservatives now that the rhinos, they'll get great coverage like Jon Thune will be a hero. but, but the others will not be. So just be wise. Wise as servants and harmless as doves. But that is definitely a beautiful scripture and that's what we need to do in this case. Wanna thank you for joining me.
