James Talarico: Did they teach you in Sunday school that, Jesus Christ himself was a radical feminist? The American flag is such a complicated symbol for most of us. God is non binary. You can't call yourself a Christian and reject the stranger seeking asylum at our southern border. Our trans community needs abortion care, too. Modern science obviously recognizes that there are many more than two biological sexes. In fact, there are six. Prophetic voices like Jesus, have helped me reckon with my own whiteness. Our southern border should be like our front porch. There should be a giant welcome mat out front.
Critique of James Talarico's Scripture Twisting and Progressive Political Stance
We are trying to fundamentally change the politics in this state and in this country. No need to sit and cry over, you know, your whiteness or your masculinity.
Sandy Rios: All right? That was the voice of James Talarico, who is the Republican, Democratic candidate in, in Texas for Senate, is a very confused, maybe, some say, wicked twister of scripture. He claims to be a Christian, and yet he continues to say things like you just heard.
The Importance of Choosing Life and Protecting the Unborn from Conception to Death
But I think we may have discovered where this is coming from. I just learned the information I want to share with you today. And, I think it might explain things. But first, life is so precious. You know, Remember in Deuteronomy 30 where it says, above all, choose life. Choose life. Choose life. And that's where we stand. Christians, believe in life at both ends of the spectrum, from birth to death, from the elderly to the newborn. We believe that they have the right to life. And of course, our preamble to the Constitution guarantees that right. And that comes from scripture because our founding fathers were so steeped in it. But for some reason, this world is just speaking, of twisting. They're twisting the whole notion. They've made abortion honorable.

They even have this thing where they brag about their abortions. Examining James Talarico's Dangerous Theology and the Call to Confrontation
So that's preborn.com sandy all right, so we all know, at least if you're paying attention, that James Talarico is a very strange person. I think that's fair to say he's very strange, but some would say absolutely wicked. I kind of think that's true because I believe that when, people present themselves as such nice guys, such nice, people, and they present themselves as believers in Christ and they begin to speak constant apostasy, that's more dangerous. Somebody who's, you know, funny looking or wicked acting or sinister, affect would not be as dangerous as someone like James Talarico. So we're going to go back in his life and explore a little bit again where this confusion, if you want to say confusion, that would be the kindest way I could put it on Scripture is coming from. Deconstructing James Talarico's Troubling Theology Rooted in His Upbringing
All right, Sandy Rios with you. so on James Salarika Rico has, made some very strange comments, and it's been very disturbing, but they also could be very confusing. So part of what I want to do today is play some of his comments and see if I can bring some clarity, to what's really true and what isn't. Because sometimes I find the most dangerous apostates are ones that, well, the Apostates, they're all dangerous, but they speak a little truth. It's like a half truth there, something familiar, but the twist is very dangerous. And that's what I see with James Talarico. So we're going to talk about that now. One thing I found out about him is that he grew up in a church, in Austin. It's called St. Andrews, and he was baptized there. He's been attending services there since he was a child. the pastor there married Talarico's parents and delivered the invocation when Talarico was sworn into the Texas house. So, the Texas monthly profile from December 2025 notes that Talarico took to Rigby at a young age and reports that the two attended several political protests together in the early 2000s. So, so I'm going to come back to that, that. I'm reading this, by the way, from Daily Caller. They did an expose on this.
Investigating the Inclusive Bible and Its Departure from Traditional Christian Teachings
So, the Daily Caller actually went in, sent a reporter, and this was just August of 2026, to talk to Reverend Jim Rigby and also be in the service. So they recorded some of the things that were said. And, this is an undercover recording, so it's not as clear as it might be, but we want you to hear it. This is clear. Clip 2 Now, the inclusive Bible.
Jimmy Kimmel: Where can I get a copy of that?

It's the Bible that we use at this church that it is been rewritten so that there is only inclusive language and that it doesn't use the gendered fever language that King James Version gives. Sandy Rios: It's good on the gender stuff, but it's still. Like, metaphysical stuff. It's not a very good translation. Really important to have a good translation so that you can let go of the student stuff. Well, that was hard to hear. I understand it was an undercover video, and it was taken in August, of this year.
The Inclusive Bible Reimagines Scripture, Omitting Gendered and Traditional Language
So Daily Caller is doing this, and the first thing was a woman standing on the podium, giving a man named Larry, who was a new member or a visitor, not clear what they call the inclusive Bible. And she talks about it doesn't have that. It has only inclusive language. Well, we're learning a lot more about what that meant. So let me give you some more detail on this inclusive Bible. The inclusive Bible strips the Bible of gendered language. It refuses to call Jesus the Son of God. It goes beyond simply swapping out male pronouns. They, describe it as reimagining of scripture, intended to find new and non sexist ways to express biblical language. So the section, it states that it avoids using Son of God to describe Jesus, instead preferring only begotten, God's own and eternally begotten. It also changes other traditional gendered references to God, including Lord, which the translators say is sexist and classist. So that's what this Bible is. Let me see if there's anything else here about that.
Pastor Rigby's Progressive Theology and Talarico's Stance on Christianity
I think I told you already that the Texas Monthly profile, from December 2025 notes that James Talarico took the Pastor Rigby at a young. Took to the Pastor Rigby at a young age. And, they went to several political protests together in the early 2000s. Talarico says he always told us our love for God has to grow into justice and move us from the sanctuary to the streets. So he said further that Rigby had mentored and inspired Talarico throughout his life. so Rigby's the theology has repeatedly departed from traditional Christian doctrine and practice. He avoids Christian creeds and prayers and services to avoid being unwelcoming to non Christians. He has described Jesus as close, closer to a loving atheist than an indifferent theologian. And he's compared fetal remains to extracted teeth and appeared to deny the virgin birth and the resurrection of Jesus. So Tellarico has described himself as a Christian who hates Christianity.
James Talarico's Pastor's Influence and Twisted Theology from Childhood
So I, and then of course he goes on to Joe Rogan. He said that there's biblical evidence that supports being pro abortion. So this is the atmosphere in which James Talarico was, raised. Now those last words that you heard in that really murky recording were the recordings of his pastor that he loved so much. that's again James Rigby, Jim Rigby, the pastor in that, undercover video. This is exactly what he said. If I can get this myself. He said it's good. This Bible, the inclusive Bible is good on the gender stuff. The more like metaphysical stuff, it's not very good. It, I, think it's really important to have a good translation so you can let go of the stupid stuff. Okay, so that is James's, background. James Talarico. Doesn't it make sense that he is so twisted in his theology from a child he's baptized in this church. So.
Talarico's Senate Run and the Importance of Voter Knowledge
And who knows about the mysterious relationship between them? You know, that as a child he would take James around to protest? I Don't know, it just all seems very strange. But I want to now present a little bit more of that strangeness because he is running for senator. And those of you in Texas need to have as much knowledge as possible to make your decision about who you're going to vote for. So this next clip is, James Talarico is on with Jimmy Kimmel. And, so let's just listen. This is how it opens. Jimmy Kibble gives him a big fanfare. We're gonna cut that part out.
James Talarico on Jimmy Kimmel: Reinterpreting Jesus and Challenging MAGA Christianity
It's like, you know, the Tonight Show. Da da, da, da, da. And here comes James Talarico and he talks about how wonderful he is. And then he, goes to this. Let's listen.
Jimmy Kimmel: I have to say, it tickles me that it's that they're terrified. I mean, no offense, but you look like Richie Cunningham.
James Talarico: It's like I'm not very scary.
Jimmy Kimmel: You look like you're running for student council.
James Talarico: That's right. I don't know what about, this Boy scout scares me so much.
Jimmy Kimmel: But I've been following you for a long time. I've been watching your videos. I think what you're doing is great. I really do. And you hit on something that I think is very. It resonated with me because, you hit on something, used to be on all of the bumper stickers. It would be, what would Jesus do? And you, you know, I think Jesus had been co opted by this MAGA enterprise in this way that is. It makes no sense when you really think about it.
Questioning Talarico's Interpretation of Jesus' Teachings on Social Issues
Would Jesus be throwing people into vans and separating them from their children? Would Jesus be taking kids off food stamps? These are not, this is not the Jesus that I learned about growing up. And you bring it right back to the Bible, to the real teachings of Jesus. And it is very authentic. I mean, you can feel it that you know what you're talking about, that you believe what you're talking about. And I think that is so very powerful and, and good for you for doing that.
Sandy Rios: All right, so you see how dangerous this is. Jimmy Kimmel has some, obviously some religious background. And he says he thinks James Talarico really understands the Bible.
Critique of Talarico's View on Biblical Morality and Personal Freedom
And of course, the Bible, according to James Talarico, you can do whatever you want to do, except if you don't, you know, welcome all the immigrants in the world and feed all of the poor people and stop, you know, open the border. If you don't do those things, then you're in trouble. But you can do other things. You could be transgender you can have an abortion, you can do all kinds of things sexually because there's nothing in that Bible to inhibit you from doing that. So, yeah, no, no wonder someone like Jimmy Kimmel's excited about this.
Raphael Warnock's View on Identity Theft and Abominable Religion
But let's go on because of course James has a response and I want you to listen. This is clip 10.
James Talarico: I appreciate that. You know, I, I think it was, Reverend Raphael Warnock who said that Jesus Christ is the most famous victim of identity theft. that the, the kind of religion that says you can treat people however you want as long as you have a personal relationship with Jesus is an abomination.
The Dangers of Misinterpreting Scripture: Love, Justice, and Welcoming the Stranger
It is a cancer on the body of Christ. Scripture tells us that you can't love God and hate other people. You can't love God and abuse the immigrant. You can't love God and oppress the poor. You can't love God and bully the outcast. We spend so much time looking for God out there that we miss God in the person sitting right next to us, in that neighbor who bears the divine image. I, was brought up to believe that in the face of a neighbor, we glimpse the face of God. Matthew 25 tells us Christians exactly how we're going to be judged and how we're going to be saved by feeding the hungry, by healing the sick, by welcoming the stranger. I often wonder what would Jesus do if he visited the U.S. senate? I think he would tell the senators on the floor, depart from me, for I was hungry and you cut my food assistance.
Deconstructing Talarico's 'Identity Theft' Claim and the Personal Nature of Faith
I was sick and you kicked me off Medicaid. I was a stranger and you deported me and my family. And then I think he would flip over those fancy desks on the floor of the US Senate and demand that we take care of all of our neighbors, especially the least of these.
Sandy Rios: All right, so I want to comment on these things because, there's, there's part of, it's very appealing because we don't want people to be poor. We don't want people to be hungry. we don't, we wish that we had the resources to feed everyone in the world and let them have the health care that we enjoy and all of these things. I think any Christian would say, you know, you don't want to see anybody hurting and you want to help as many people as you can. but let's go through this because I think it's very important. First he says that, Jesus has been co opted. He's the, victim of identity theft. Now, interestingly enough, what he's saying is that people describe Jesus differently than the way he understands him, or they believe in a different Jesus. And, you know, he's right about that. Raphael Warnick, I guess, was the one who gave that first, the first one who said that to him. But, it is true that people make Jesus in a way, their own. In their own making.
The Danger of Personalizing Jesus and the Necessity of Reading Scripture
They create him in their own making. They take the parts they want, take the parts they don't want. And, like Jesus, no, Jesus wouldn't want me to be unhappy. or, you know, Jesus wouldn't want. Want this. He would. Loves everybody. He. He loves the transgenders. You know, he understands. And, gay marriage is, you know, part of his plan. I've heard these things, and yet that Jesus that I was just speaking for them for is not in scripture. The only way we can know the real Jesus is to read the real scripture. And obviously James hasn't read the real scripture. If he has, it hasn't stunk in.
The Left's Perverse Use of 'Hate' and Its Impact on Dialogue
He's lived his life as, you know, grown up in this church where scriptures are, words are eliminated, passages are eliminated. it's twisted. So he doesn't know the real Jesus. And I don't think Jimmy Kimmel does either, because he just heard from James a bunch of stuff that's really not true. Now why isn't it true? Let me see if I can go through this a little bit. James says to Jimmy Kimmel, the scripture tells us that you can't love God and hate other people. Well, the scripture does say that. Absolutely. the problem with that statement is that the, left uses hate in such a perverse way. I used to get this when I was on the air in Chicago. We talked a lot about racism because I had a large black audience. We had great discussions, by the way. Loved them. I was back in Chicago, at the Turning Point event a couple of months ago, and a couple of black brothers came up to me and just hug.
Navigating Disagreement and the Misappropriation of 'Hate' in Conversations
We made. Hugged me, hugged me. And we just made such a connection. And they used to listen to me. so I just want to illustrate that. That, we had great talks, even if we disagreed. I had a caller named Greene. Now, Sandy, you're not right about that. I love you, but I don't agree with you. And so we'd have these kind of discussions. So, the idea that. But then the. The meaner ones would say that, I hate. I hated homosexuals, I hated blacks. You know, this is a device. And they know exactly what they're doing. They Know that you don't. Unless some people are kind of probably confused. But the. The smart ones, who are the leaders of the pack, know that this does not mean hate because, you disagree with something.
The True Meaning of Christian Love and Honesty in Relationships
I actually had a. I was having lunch recently, and be vague about this, but the woman who is, across the table from me, who I know not real well, but I do know her, she said, the worst kind of hate is Christian love. That's what she said. And so I couldn't let that pass, of course. And, I talked to her about. I just talked to her about what it meant. What she just said was not really true, that Christian love behaves this way. And I talked about it's possible to disagree with the homosexual community on their lifestyle and the transgender community for that way and still care about them. And I talked about my own life and the interactions I'd had, the friends I'd made who were transgender people that were lesbians and gay people. I made friends in that community and ministered to them as best I could, always trying to be honest with them. And I made the point that when you really love someone, you are honest. You don't pretend like their sin is okay. And I challenged her with the idea of, you know, adultery. Now, if your best friend comes to you, you. They're good friends to you and your husband, really good friends, and she, comes to you and says she's having an affair with another man, are you going to say, hey, that's great. That's great. I'm so glad to hear that. You know, go, have it. Have it your way, whatever you want to do. Is that what you would say? Or would you say, oh, I wish you wouldn't do that? Please don't you guys have such a great marriage? Please. Does that mean that you hate the person because you disagree with their adultery? This is context in which which it's used. So James says, the, Bible tells us that you can't love God and hate other people.
The Left's Definition of Christian Hate and Its Misapplication
He's talking about the kind of hate as they define it. Like Christians, we hate, according to them, we hate gays. We hate homosexuals, hate transgenders. We hate immigrants. We hate, hate, hate. And so that's what they say, and that's what he's speaking about. And then he goes on to say, you can't love God and abuse the immigrant. You can't love God and oppress the poor. You can't love God and bully the outcast. All right, again, it's a matter of semantics.
Distinguishing Legal Immigration Enforcement from Oppression and Abuse
removing immigrants Legally from this country who are illegally here is not abuse. and then he says, you can't love God and oppress the poor. I'm not sure. I'm not sure what he means by oppress the poor and bullying, the outcast. He's talking about immigrants, of course, and about ice. That's exactly what he's talking about, because he's. He believes we should just have open borders and welcome everybody. And then he goes on to quote Matthew 25. And this is important because a long time ago, the. The Christian left, led by, led by Jim Wallace, was a big part of this.
The Christian Left's Interpretation of Matthew 25 and Immigration
and they did a video with all these pastors, very well known pastors. My pastor at the time was Bill Hybels from Willow Creek Church. He was one of them. Another one was Richard Land of the Southern Baptist Convention. And there was a whole bunch of them. And, and they, read Matthew 25. Much of Matthew 25. This is the part they read, starting with. I'm going to read starting from verse 35 here. For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me in. I needed clothes and you clothed me. I was sick, and you looked after me. I was in prison, and you came to visit me. And then the righteous will answer him, lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you or thirsty and give you something to eat? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or need enclose and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you? And the king will reply, truly, I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did it for me. And then he will say to those on the left, depart from me, you who are accursed into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
The Evangelical Immigration Table's Agenda and George Soros's Funding
For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink. I was a stranger, and you did not invite me in. I needed clothes and you did not clothe me. I was sick and in prison, and you did not look after me. And so it's the same ending where he finally says, truly, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me. All right, so that's what he's referring to. And that started again back in the 90s with Jim Wallace and those pastors. I don't think those pastors knew what they were getting into. But the whole idea was that we were wrong, absolutely wrong, not to embrace every immigrant that came to the country. That was the issue we found out later that was called the evangelical immigration table, something like that. That George, George Soros was paying for that. George was the funder for that endeavor because it was an election time and they were trying to confuse Christians about Scripture. Now why do I say they're trying to confuse Christians? Because those admonitions, let's just say a person, a soul and an individual person, a believer in the Lord Jesus, has different admonitions than a country.
Distinguishing Individual Christian Admonitions from National Governance
A, country's governance and role is different than an individual Christian. Let me give you an example. In Romans 13, it talks about the distribution of responsibility. The government is ordered and maintained by God, and he appoints rulers. Even if we don't know he has that, he's in charge of that. And he talks about how they bring punishment and they, they reign in the wicked. They don't bear the sword for nothing. The Bible says, and he sends that. That's a different division. A nation is not a person. A nation cannot receive Christ. A nation cannot follow. They can follow the Ten Commandments, but it, it's a matter of the individual heart. This business of believing in Jesus. A corporate country can reflect Christian values, but it doesn't have that personal relationship.
The Personal Responsibility of Believers Versus the Role of Government
And government has to protect the people in war. they have to protect the sovereignty of the nation to keep law breakers, in, in check and bring them to justice if they've broken the law. So that's one admonition. But when in Matthew 25, he says, I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was cold and you gave me no clothing. And all of the things that Jesus said in that passage, he's talking about you and me. You and me, believers in Christ. He's not talking about the American government. He's not talking about your mayor, he's not talking about your senator. these are good things to follow. But a nation is not Christian. I know we call America Christian nation, but it's only Christian because the people are. The makeup of the people are predominantly Christian. It's not because the nation is Christian. It's an inanimate object. It has no heart.
Enforcing Immigration Laws While Showing Compassion to Individuals
and so these are personal admonitions. So this is how I distinguish it. When it comes to immigrants, illegal immigrants, I believe our government must enforce the law. If they've come here illegally, and probably a lot of them for very bad reasons, then our Government has to in. They have to enforce the law. They have to. That's what Romans 13 is all about. But if you and I see an illegal immigrant, does that mean we, act mad at them, we scorn them, we shun them, or if they're hungry, their kids next door may be living next to an apartment building with us. And we know they're hurting. Does that mean we don't help them because they don't have supplies for their family? No. that's the responsibility of you individually. You don't, Now I think there is a division here. I need to be clear. I think some people are innocents in this. They come across, they don't even understand what they're really doing. And then there are some that are just wicked. the Islamic invasion, of Europe and of the United States too. That's different.
Talarico's Misinterpretation of Scripture and Deceptive Practices
I don't have kind feelings toward them. I don't. so. I know, I know we can talk about that later, but I'm trying to make a point with Talarico, here. He's wrong about what, who this applies to. So let's go on. So it's unfortunate that James Talarico was raised in this situation. And I, I guess I would put, I can't excuse him because he's a grown man now and certainly he's the. Had the opportunity to read the real scriptures and now he's trying to deceive people. So it's become very dangerous.
The Left's Exploitation of Principles and Talarico's Dangerous Message
He's way beyond the innocent stage. He knows exactly what he's doing. And of, course this is music to the ears of the left, that it's all about. It's funny how they, they say everything is about helping people. Like, I think I, this is an example. Okay, so those older white women on the jury for Lindsey Clancy's murder trial for killing her three children, brutally killing them, you know, strangling them, would I bet in any other circumstance completely defend black people. They would accuse people on the MAGA people, Christians, of hating blacks. And they would be the defenders. They would beat their chest and champion the oppression of the, of the black population. How they've been trodden down. But you know what? When it comes to a jury where there's a Christian black man in the jury who because of his biblical beliefs continues to say that Lindsay Clancy killed her children, they turn on him like a vicious mob. Do you see how the left kind of plays really loose with their so called principles? So, so that's what really the Confucian thing about Talarico. So the left really loves what he has to say because there's no sexual standards to be met.
Misinterpreting Salvation: Deeds Versus Faith in Jesus Christ
There's nothing against abortion, there's nothing against homosexuality. There's nothing against anything sexual as far as I can tell. And isn't that great? You just have to so called help the poor. In fact. What did he say? He further says that Matthew 25 says that you're. We're saved by feeding the hungry, healing the sick, welcoming the stranger. That is not how we're saved. That is not how we're saved.
The Hypocrisy of Open Borders Advocates and Personal Responsibility
That is a outcome, an outpouring of our accepting the Lord Jesus Christ and his teachings and him as Savior and Lord by the way, which they've removed from their Bible Lord, of our lives, because he's transformed us and forgiven us. Then we do these things, we feed the hungry, we try to help the sick and we welcome the stranger when it's not illegal. So this is just the thing that's all backwards and it's very dangerously backwards because you see this gives people an excuse and they think they have, they're deceived because they think by their deeds, which really often are just words. I remember asking leftists when immigration, Immigration has been a big deal for the. Ever since I've been on the radio we've been fighting over amnesty, and we've had a lot of people come to the country who shouldn't have come here. And so we've been on two sides of this issue. But when I would talk to leftists who embrace the open borders and all of that, I would just ask them, well, how many people, how many families can you handle in your house? How many rooms do you have? So you're going to take, how many families are you going to take in because you think we should help them and bring them in? They should all come.
Vote Wisely: Talarico's Scary Teachings and Preborn's Life-Saving Ministry
How many are you going to take? How many can you manage in your house? And the truth is, of course the answer is they just ah, can't say anything because they didn't mean that. They didn't mean them, they meant the government, the other people, not them. And so it's a bit of a hypocrisy and I hope that they learn that. Well, I hope that I've been clear today because I think we need to understand now Talarico is running for Senate and I hope those of you that are genuine believers in the Lord Jesus, the Lord, the Lord Jesus will Vote wisely. That's all I can say. Vote wisely. because, what he's teaching is actually very scary. Well, preborn is our sponsor. You know, maybe not literally, but certainly spiritually, because they present the gospel of Jesus. Forgiveness, new life. You know, that's what we do with. We have to do.

James Talarico: Did they teach you in Sunday school that, Jesus Christ himself was a radical feminist? The American flag is such a complicated symbol for most of us. God is non binary. You can't call yourself a Christian and reject the stranger seeking asylum at our southern border. Our trans community needs abortion care, too. Modern science obviously recognizes that there are many more than two biological sexes. In fact, there are six. Prophetic voices like Jesus, have helped me reckon with my own whiteness. Our southern border should be like our front porch. There should be a giant welcome mat out front.
Critique of James Talarico's Scripture Twisting and Progressive Political Stance
We are trying to fundamentally change the politics in this state and in this country. No need to sit and cry over, you know, your whiteness or your masculinity.
Sandy Rios: All right? That was the voice of James Talarico, who is the Republican, Democratic candidate in, in Texas for Senate, is a very confused, maybe, some say, wicked twister of scripture. He claims to be a Christian, and yet he continues to say things like you just heard.
The Importance of Choosing Life and Protecting the Unborn from Conception to Death
But I think we may have discovered where this is coming from. I just learned the information I want to share with you today. And, I think it might explain things. But first, life is so precious. You know, Remember in Deuteronomy 30 where it says, above all, choose life. Choose life. Choose life. And that's where we stand. Christians, believe in life at both ends of the spectrum, from birth to death, from the elderly to the newborn. We believe that they have the right to life. And of course, our preamble to the Constitution guarantees that right. And that comes from scripture because our founding fathers were so steeped in it. But for some reason, this world is just speaking, of twisting. They're twisting the whole notion. They've made abortion honorable.

Examining James Talarico's Dangerous Theology and the Call to Confrontation
So that's preborn.com sandy all right, so we all know, at least if you're paying attention, that James Talarico is a very strange person. I think that's fair to say he's very strange, but some would say absolutely wicked. I kind of think that's true because I believe that when, people present themselves as such nice guys, such nice, people, and they present themselves as believers in Christ and they begin to speak constant apostasy, that's more dangerous. Somebody who's, you know, funny looking or wicked acting or sinister, affect would not be as dangerous as someone like James Talarico. So we're going to go back in his life and explore a little bit again where this confusion, if you want to say confusion, that would be the kindest way I could put it on Scripture is coming from. Deconstructing James Talarico's Troubling Theology Rooted in His Upbringing
All right, Sandy Rios with you. so on James Salarika Rico has, made some very strange comments, and it's been very disturbing, but they also could be very confusing. So part of what I want to do today is play some of his comments and see if I can bring some clarity, to what's really true and what isn't. Because sometimes I find the most dangerous apostates are ones that, well, the Apostates, they're all dangerous, but they speak a little truth. It's like a half truth there, something familiar, but the twist is very dangerous. And that's what I see with James Talarico. So we're going to talk about that now. One thing I found out about him is that he grew up in a church, in Austin. It's called St. Andrews, and he was baptized there. He's been attending services there since he was a child. the pastor there married Talarico's parents and delivered the invocation when Talarico was sworn into the Texas house. So, the Texas monthly profile from December 2025 notes that Talarico took to Rigby at a young age and reports that the two attended several political protests together in the early 2000s. So, so I'm going to come back to that, that. I'm reading this, by the way, from Daily Caller. They did an expose on this.
Investigating the Inclusive Bible and Its Departure from Traditional Christian Teachings
So, the Daily Caller actually went in, sent a reporter, and this was just August of 2026, to talk to Reverend Jim Rigby and also be in the service. So they recorded some of the things that were said. And, this is an undercover recording, so it's not as clear as it might be, but we want you to hear it. This is clear. Clip 2 Now, the inclusive Bible.
Jimmy Kimmel: Where can I get a copy of that?

It's the Bible that we use at this church that it is been rewritten so that there is only inclusive language and that it doesn't use the gendered fever language that King James Version gives. Sandy Rios: It's good on the gender stuff, but it's still. Like, metaphysical stuff. It's not a very good translation. Really important to have a good translation so that you can let go of the student stuff. Well, that was hard to hear. I understand it was an undercover video, and it was taken in August, of this year.
The Inclusive Bible Reimagines Scripture, Omitting Gendered and Traditional Language
So Daily Caller is doing this, and the first thing was a woman standing on the podium, giving a man named Larry, who was a new member or a visitor, not clear what they call the inclusive Bible. And she talks about it doesn't have that. It has only inclusive language. Well, we're learning a lot more about what that meant. So let me give you some more detail on this inclusive Bible. The inclusive Bible strips the Bible of gendered language. It refuses to call Jesus the Son of God. It goes beyond simply swapping out male pronouns. They, describe it as reimagining of scripture, intended to find new and non sexist ways to express biblical language. So the section, it states that it avoids using Son of God to describe Jesus, instead preferring only begotten, God's own and eternally begotten. It also changes other traditional gendered references to God, including Lord, which the translators say is sexist and classist. So that's what this Bible is. Let me see if there's anything else here about that.
Pastor Rigby's Progressive Theology and Talarico's Stance on Christianity
I think I told you already that the Texas Monthly profile, from December 2025 notes that James Talarico took the Pastor Rigby at a young. Took to the Pastor Rigby at a young age. And, they went to several political protests together in the early 2000s. Talarico says he always told us our love for God has to grow into justice and move us from the sanctuary to the streets. So he said further that Rigby had mentored and inspired Talarico throughout his life. so Rigby's the theology has repeatedly departed from traditional Christian doctrine and practice. He avoids Christian creeds and prayers and services to avoid being unwelcoming to non Christians. He has described Jesus as close, closer to a loving atheist than an indifferent theologian. And he's compared fetal remains to extracted teeth and appeared to deny the virgin birth and the resurrection of Jesus. So Tellarico has described himself as a Christian who hates Christianity.
James Talarico's Pastor's Influence and Twisted Theology from Childhood
So I, and then of course he goes on to Joe Rogan. He said that there's biblical evidence that supports being pro abortion. So this is the atmosphere in which James Talarico was, raised. Now those last words that you heard in that really murky recording were the recordings of his pastor that he loved so much. that's again James Rigby, Jim Rigby, the pastor in that, undercover video. This is exactly what he said. If I can get this myself. He said it's good. This Bible, the inclusive Bible is good on the gender stuff. The more like metaphysical stuff, it's not very good. It, I, think it's really important to have a good translation so you can let go of the stupid stuff. Okay, so that is James's, background. James Talarico. Doesn't it make sense that he is so twisted in his theology from a child he's baptized in this church. So.
Talarico's Senate Run and the Importance of Voter Knowledge
And who knows about the mysterious relationship between them? You know, that as a child he would take James around to protest? I Don't know, it just all seems very strange. But I want to now present a little bit more of that strangeness because he is running for senator. And those of you in Texas need to have as much knowledge as possible to make your decision about who you're going to vote for. So this next clip is, James Talarico is on with Jimmy Kimmel. And, so let's just listen. This is how it opens. Jimmy Kibble gives him a big fanfare. We're gonna cut that part out.
James Talarico on Jimmy Kimmel: Reinterpreting Jesus and Challenging MAGA Christianity
It's like, you know, the Tonight Show. Da da, da, da, da. And here comes James Talarico and he talks about how wonderful he is. And then he, goes to this. Let's listen.
Jimmy Kimmel: I have to say, it tickles me that it's that they're terrified. I mean, no offense, but you look like Richie Cunningham.
James Talarico: It's like I'm not very scary.
Jimmy Kimmel: You look like you're running for student council.
James Talarico: That's right. I don't know what about, this Boy scout scares me so much.
Jimmy Kimmel: But I've been following you for a long time. I've been watching your videos. I think what you're doing is great. I really do. And you hit on something that I think is very. It resonated with me because, you hit on something, used to be on all of the bumper stickers. It would be, what would Jesus do? And you, you know, I think Jesus had been co opted by this MAGA enterprise in this way that is. It makes no sense when you really think about it.
Questioning Talarico's Interpretation of Jesus' Teachings on Social Issues
Would Jesus be throwing people into vans and separating them from their children? Would Jesus be taking kids off food stamps? These are not, this is not the Jesus that I learned about growing up. And you bring it right back to the Bible, to the real teachings of Jesus. And it is very authentic. I mean, you can feel it that you know what you're talking about, that you believe what you're talking about. And I think that is so very powerful and, and good for you for doing that.
Sandy Rios: All right, so you see how dangerous this is. Jimmy Kimmel has some, obviously some religious background. And he says he thinks James Talarico really understands the Bible.
Critique of Talarico's View on Biblical Morality and Personal Freedom
And of course, the Bible, according to James Talarico, you can do whatever you want to do, except if you don't, you know, welcome all the immigrants in the world and feed all of the poor people and stop, you know, open the border. If you don't do those things, then you're in trouble. But you can do other things. You could be transgender you can have an abortion, you can do all kinds of things sexually because there's nothing in that Bible to inhibit you from doing that. So, yeah, no, no wonder someone like Jimmy Kimmel's excited about this.
Raphael Warnock's View on Identity Theft and Abominable Religion
But let's go on because of course James has a response and I want you to listen. This is clip 10.
James Talarico: I appreciate that. You know, I, I think it was, Reverend Raphael Warnock who said that Jesus Christ is the most famous victim of identity theft. that the, the kind of religion that says you can treat people however you want as long as you have a personal relationship with Jesus is an abomination.
The Dangers of Misinterpreting Scripture: Love, Justice, and Welcoming the Stranger
It is a cancer on the body of Christ. Scripture tells us that you can't love God and hate other people. You can't love God and abuse the immigrant. You can't love God and oppress the poor. You can't love God and bully the outcast. We spend so much time looking for God out there that we miss God in the person sitting right next to us, in that neighbor who bears the divine image. I, was brought up to believe that in the face of a neighbor, we glimpse the face of God. Matthew 25 tells us Christians exactly how we're going to be judged and how we're going to be saved by feeding the hungry, by healing the sick, by welcoming the stranger. I often wonder what would Jesus do if he visited the U.S. senate? I think he would tell the senators on the floor, depart from me, for I was hungry and you cut my food assistance.
Deconstructing Talarico's 'Identity Theft' Claim and the Personal Nature of Faith
I was sick and you kicked me off Medicaid. I was a stranger and you deported me and my family. And then I think he would flip over those fancy desks on the floor of the US Senate and demand that we take care of all of our neighbors, especially the least of these.
Sandy Rios: All right, so I want to comment on these things because, there's, there's part of, it's very appealing because we don't want people to be poor. We don't want people to be hungry. we don't, we wish that we had the resources to feed everyone in the world and let them have the health care that we enjoy and all of these things. I think any Christian would say, you know, you don't want to see anybody hurting and you want to help as many people as you can. but let's go through this because I think it's very important. First he says that, Jesus has been co opted. He's the, victim of identity theft. Now, interestingly enough, what he's saying is that people describe Jesus differently than the way he understands him, or they believe in a different Jesus. And, you know, he's right about that. Raphael Warnick, I guess, was the one who gave that first, the first one who said that to him. But, it is true that people make Jesus in a way, their own. In their own making.
The Danger of Personalizing Jesus and the Necessity of Reading Scripture
They create him in their own making. They take the parts they want, take the parts they don't want. And, like Jesus, no, Jesus wouldn't want me to be unhappy. or, you know, Jesus wouldn't want. Want this. He would. Loves everybody. He. He loves the transgenders. You know, he understands. And, gay marriage is, you know, part of his plan. I've heard these things, and yet that Jesus that I was just speaking for them for is not in scripture. The only way we can know the real Jesus is to read the real scripture. And obviously James hasn't read the real scripture. If he has, it hasn't stunk in.
The Left's Perverse Use of 'Hate' and Its Impact on Dialogue
He's lived his life as, you know, grown up in this church where scriptures are, words are eliminated, passages are eliminated. it's twisted. So he doesn't know the real Jesus. And I don't think Jimmy Kimmel does either, because he just heard from James a bunch of stuff that's really not true. Now why isn't it true? Let me see if I can go through this a little bit. James says to Jimmy Kimmel, the scripture tells us that you can't love God and hate other people. Well, the scripture does say that. Absolutely. the problem with that statement is that the, left uses hate in such a perverse way. I used to get this when I was on the air in Chicago. We talked a lot about racism because I had a large black audience. We had great discussions, by the way. Loved them. I was back in Chicago, at the Turning Point event a couple of months ago, and a couple of black brothers came up to me and just hug.
Navigating Disagreement and the Misappropriation of 'Hate' in Conversations
We made. Hugged me, hugged me. And we just made such a connection. And they used to listen to me. so I just want to illustrate that. That, we had great talks, even if we disagreed. I had a caller named Greene. Now, Sandy, you're not right about that. I love you, but I don't agree with you. And so we'd have these kind of discussions. So, the idea that. But then the. The meaner ones would say that, I hate. I hated homosexuals, I hated blacks. You know, this is a device. And they know exactly what they're doing. They Know that you don't. Unless some people are kind of probably confused. But the. The smart ones, who are the leaders of the pack, know that this does not mean hate because, you disagree with something.
The True Meaning of Christian Love and Honesty in Relationships
I actually had a. I was having lunch recently, and be vague about this, but the woman who is, across the table from me, who I know not real well, but I do know her, she said, the worst kind of hate is Christian love. That's what she said. And so I couldn't let that pass, of course. And, I talked to her about. I just talked to her about what it meant. What she just said was not really true, that Christian love behaves this way. And I talked about it's possible to disagree with the homosexual community on their lifestyle and the transgender community for that way and still care about them. And I talked about my own life and the interactions I'd had, the friends I'd made who were transgender people that were lesbians and gay people. I made friends in that community and ministered to them as best I could, always trying to be honest with them. And I made the point that when you really love someone, you are honest. You don't pretend like their sin is okay. And I challenged her with the idea of, you know, adultery. Now, if your best friend comes to you, you. They're good friends to you and your husband, really good friends, and she, comes to you and says she's having an affair with another man, are you going to say, hey, that's great. That's great. I'm so glad to hear that. You know, go, have it. Have it your way, whatever you want to do. Is that what you would say? Or would you say, oh, I wish you wouldn't do that? Please don't you guys have such a great marriage? Please. Does that mean that you hate the person because you disagree with their adultery? This is context in which which it's used. So James says, the, Bible tells us that you can't love God and hate other people.
The Left's Definition of Christian Hate and Its Misapplication
He's talking about the kind of hate as they define it. Like Christians, we hate, according to them, we hate gays. We hate homosexuals, hate transgenders. We hate immigrants. We hate, hate, hate. And so that's what they say, and that's what he's speaking about. And then he goes on to say, you can't love God and abuse the immigrant. You can't love God and oppress the poor. You can't love God and bully the outcast. All right, again, it's a matter of semantics.
Distinguishing Legal Immigration Enforcement from Oppression and Abuse
removing immigrants Legally from this country who are illegally here is not abuse. and then he says, you can't love God and oppress the poor. I'm not sure. I'm not sure what he means by oppress the poor and bullying, the outcast. He's talking about immigrants, of course, and about ice. That's exactly what he's talking about, because he's. He believes we should just have open borders and welcome everybody. And then he goes on to quote Matthew 25. And this is important because a long time ago, the. The Christian left, led by, led by Jim Wallace, was a big part of this.
The Christian Left's Interpretation of Matthew 25 and Immigration
and they did a video with all these pastors, very well known pastors. My pastor at the time was Bill Hybels from Willow Creek Church. He was one of them. Another one was Richard Land of the Southern Baptist Convention. And there was a whole bunch of them. And, and they, read Matthew 25. Much of Matthew 25. This is the part they read, starting with. I'm going to read starting from verse 35 here. For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me in. I needed clothes and you clothed me. I was sick, and you looked after me. I was in prison, and you came to visit me. And then the righteous will answer him, lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you or thirsty and give you something to eat? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or need enclose and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you? And the king will reply, truly, I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did it for me. And then he will say to those on the left, depart from me, you who are accursed into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
The Evangelical Immigration Table's Agenda and George Soros's Funding
For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink. I was a stranger, and you did not invite me in. I needed clothes and you did not clothe me. I was sick and in prison, and you did not look after me. And so it's the same ending where he finally says, truly, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me. All right, so that's what he's referring to. And that started again back in the 90s with Jim Wallace and those pastors. I don't think those pastors knew what they were getting into. But the whole idea was that we were wrong, absolutely wrong, not to embrace every immigrant that came to the country. That was the issue we found out later that was called the evangelical immigration table, something like that. That George, George Soros was paying for that. George was the funder for that endeavor because it was an election time and they were trying to confuse Christians about Scripture. Now why do I say they're trying to confuse Christians? Because those admonitions, let's just say a person, a soul and an individual person, a believer in the Lord Jesus, has different admonitions than a country.
Distinguishing Individual Christian Admonitions from National Governance
A, country's governance and role is different than an individual Christian. Let me give you an example. In Romans 13, it talks about the distribution of responsibility. The government is ordered and maintained by God, and he appoints rulers. Even if we don't know he has that, he's in charge of that. And he talks about how they bring punishment and they, they reign in the wicked. They don't bear the sword for nothing. The Bible says, and he sends that. That's a different division. A nation is not a person. A nation cannot receive Christ. A nation cannot follow. They can follow the Ten Commandments, but it, it's a matter of the individual heart. This business of believing in Jesus. A corporate country can reflect Christian values, but it doesn't have that personal relationship.
The Personal Responsibility of Believers Versus the Role of Government
And government has to protect the people in war. they have to protect the sovereignty of the nation to keep law breakers, in, in check and bring them to justice if they've broken the law. So that's one admonition. But when in Matthew 25, he says, I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was cold and you gave me no clothing. And all of the things that Jesus said in that passage, he's talking about you and me. You and me, believers in Christ. He's not talking about the American government. He's not talking about your mayor, he's not talking about your senator. these are good things to follow. But a nation is not Christian. I know we call America Christian nation, but it's only Christian because the people are. The makeup of the people are predominantly Christian. It's not because the nation is Christian. It's an inanimate object. It has no heart.
Enforcing Immigration Laws While Showing Compassion to Individuals
and so these are personal admonitions. So this is how I distinguish it. When it comes to immigrants, illegal immigrants, I believe our government must enforce the law. If they've come here illegally, and probably a lot of them for very bad reasons, then our Government has to in. They have to enforce the law. They have to. That's what Romans 13 is all about. But if you and I see an illegal immigrant, does that mean we, act mad at them, we scorn them, we shun them, or if they're hungry, their kids next door may be living next to an apartment building with us. And we know they're hurting. Does that mean we don't help them because they don't have supplies for their family? No. that's the responsibility of you individually. You don't, Now I think there is a division here. I need to be clear. I think some people are innocents in this. They come across, they don't even understand what they're really doing. And then there are some that are just wicked. the Islamic invasion, of Europe and of the United States too. That's different.
Talarico's Misinterpretation of Scripture and Deceptive Practices
I don't have kind feelings toward them. I don't. so. I know, I know we can talk about that later, but I'm trying to make a point with Talarico, here. He's wrong about what, who this applies to. So let's go on. So it's unfortunate that James Talarico was raised in this situation. And I, I guess I would put, I can't excuse him because he's a grown man now and certainly he's the. Had the opportunity to read the real scriptures and now he's trying to deceive people. So it's become very dangerous.
The Left's Exploitation of Principles and Talarico's Dangerous Message
He's way beyond the innocent stage. He knows exactly what he's doing. And of, course this is music to the ears of the left, that it's all about. It's funny how they, they say everything is about helping people. Like, I think I, this is an example. Okay, so those older white women on the jury for Lindsey Clancy's murder trial for killing her three children, brutally killing them, you know, strangling them, would I bet in any other circumstance completely defend black people. They would accuse people on the MAGA people, Christians, of hating blacks. And they would be the defenders. They would beat their chest and champion the oppression of the, of the black population. How they've been trodden down. But you know what? When it comes to a jury where there's a Christian black man in the jury who because of his biblical beliefs continues to say that Lindsay Clancy killed her children, they turn on him like a vicious mob. Do you see how the left kind of plays really loose with their so called principles? So, so that's what really the Confucian thing about Talarico. So the left really loves what he has to say because there's no sexual standards to be met.
Misinterpreting Salvation: Deeds Versus Faith in Jesus Christ
There's nothing against abortion, there's nothing against homosexuality. There's nothing against anything sexual as far as I can tell. And isn't that great? You just have to so called help the poor. In fact. What did he say? He further says that Matthew 25 says that you're. We're saved by feeding the hungry, healing the sick, welcoming the stranger. That is not how we're saved. That is not how we're saved.
The Hypocrisy of Open Borders Advocates and Personal Responsibility
That is a outcome, an outpouring of our accepting the Lord Jesus Christ and his teachings and him as Savior and Lord by the way, which they've removed from their Bible Lord, of our lives, because he's transformed us and forgiven us. Then we do these things, we feed the hungry, we try to help the sick and we welcome the stranger when it's not illegal. So this is just the thing that's all backwards and it's very dangerously backwards because you see this gives people an excuse and they think they have, they're deceived because they think by their deeds, which really often are just words. I remember asking leftists when immigration, Immigration has been a big deal for the. Ever since I've been on the radio we've been fighting over amnesty, and we've had a lot of people come to the country who shouldn't have come here. And so we've been on two sides of this issue. But when I would talk to leftists who embrace the open borders and all of that, I would just ask them, well, how many people, how many families can you handle in your house? How many rooms do you have? So you're going to take, how many families are you going to take in because you think we should help them and bring them in? They should all come.
Vote Wisely: Talarico's Scary Teachings and Preborn's Life-Saving Ministry
How many are you going to take? How many can you manage in your house? And the truth is, of course the answer is they just ah, can't say anything because they didn't mean that. They didn't mean them, they meant the government, the other people, not them. And so it's a bit of a hypocrisy and I hope that they learn that.
