Dr. Jessica Peck: What happens in your home when emotions rise? Are they ignored or named with honesty? In Psalm chapter 139, verses 23 and 24, we're invited to pray. Search me, O God, and know my thoughts. Healthy families don't avoid emotions. They bring them into the light. The habit is simple. Name and claim what you're feeling and help your children do the same. I'm feeling overwhelmed or I feel hurt right now. Create space for understanding instead of reaction. When we model emotional awareness, we teach our that feelings aren't something to fear, they're something to steward and look at in the light of God's truth. This week, pause and put words to your emotions out loud. Then talk about healthy ways to cope. So ask yourself, am I creating a home where feelings are hidden or where they're honestly and safely known? Um, and looked at in the light of God's truth? Try it out and I'll see you on the Doctor Nurse Mama show here on American Family Radio.
