Dr. Jessica Peck: When you send your child out the door for school each morning, are you thinking only about their grades or also about the skills they need to feel safe and seen and supported? School safety is about more than preventing physical harm. A healthy approach considers the whole child physical safety, emotional well being, healthy relationships, digital tech boundaries and knowing where to turn when something doesn't feel right. Teach your children to identify trusted adults at school and practice what they should do if they're lost, bullied, threatened or separated from their group. Talk about emergency procedures without creating unnecessary fear, and encourage them to speak up when they notice something unsafe. Know your school's policies and communication systems, and keep conversations open at home. Psalm 91:4 reminds us that God is our refuge and we can rest under his care. And as we entrust our children to God each day, also equip them to recognize danger, seek help and know they're never alone. I'll see you on the Doctor Nurse Mama show here on American Family Radio.
