To date we know 26 people were killed and at least 20 others wounded when a murderous monster took aim at congregants at First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs, Texas.

Predictably, Regressives immediately pined for more gun control laws while ignoring the fact that a lawful gun owner and NRA trainer prevented the carnage from being much worse.

Before we go on about political issues, let's not forget that the victims were real people, with real families, and mourn with those who mourn.

An immigrant from Uzbekistan drove a rented Home Depot truck into a group of pedestrians in Lower Manhattan killing at least 8 people and injuring 9 as he shouted “Allahu Akbar.”  In English that means “Allah is Greatest.”

The perpetrator is Sayfullo Habibullaevic Saipov. Sayfullo means “Sword of Allah.”  Habibullaevic means “Lover of Allah.”

This murderer was shot but not killed on the scene. He’s been taken in for questioning… to learn his motive….

6 soldiers died searching for Bergdahl after what we now know was his voluntary absence from his post.

Bergdahl faces as much as 5 years in prison for “desertion” and up to a life sentence for the “misbehavior before the enemy” charge.

Senator Feinstein chided Professor Barrett, proclaiming, “the dogma lives loudly within you, and that’s of concern.”

Of course Feinstein was really concerned about the Regressive Holy Grail, Roe v. Wade, ending up in the dust bin of history.

First it was Russell Vought.  Now its Amy Coney Barrett.  The Senate has no regard for the Constitution.

Among the Ten Commandments, the first thing God sought to prohibit in the nation of Israel was idolatry. Idolatry includes the worship of statues and inanimate objects, but it also includes excessive attachment, veneration, and reverence for any person other than the Lord.

I believe God did that because He knew men would be tempted to defer their judgment and reasoning to the experts. Based on their academic accomplishment, based on the numbers of letters behind their names, we would accept their opinions as facts.

But remember, the Bible tells us the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. If you fear God, you have a leg up on the competition.
