Word Jiu Jitsu
“Look at the ships, though they are large they are guided by a very small rudder.” Excerpted from James 3:4 (ESV).
According to the L.A. Times, language has evolved. So, it forbids its writers from using certain words.
Words like ‘homosexual,’ transsexual,’ and ‘openly gay’ have fallen out of acceptable usage. They are offensive and must be avoided at all costs.
Interestingly, this comes from the same people who are all too eager to get America to abandon the English as our official language.
Language is one of the cornerstones of any culture. Change the language, you change the culture.

Communism, Really?
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Hosea 4:6 (ESV)
The New York Times published an Op-Ed by Vivian Gornick that praised Communism.
She wrote, “It is perhaps hard to understand now, but at the time, the Marxist vision of world solidarity as translated by the Communist Party induced in the most ordinary of men and women a sense of one’s own humanity that ran deep, made life feel large.”
Really!?!?!?!?! On what planet, Vivian? Hundreds of millions of people were plundered, pillaged, starved to death and butchered all in the name of communism.
Revisionism knows no bounds apparently.

The Lion's Pride
“Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered.” Excerpted from Revelation 5:5 (ESV).
Following an attack by militant Muslims, Pastor Paul Ciniraj of Bibles for Mideast—an evangelistic and church planting ministry in the Mideast and North Africa, sought refuge in a forest home to recover from severe injuries.
While recovering, the militants, armed with steel bars and other weapons, found Pastor Paul and his missionary friends. They all thought they were going to die. Then, out of the forest, emerged three lions who attacked the militants and scattered them. God still does miracles

R & B singer Ginuwine is cast member on the TV program Celebrity Big Brother UK. During an episode English Journalist, India Willoughby, who self-identities as a transgender woman though born male, lamented that men don’t date transgender women.
Willoughby then tried to kiss the R & B singer on the cheek, but he moved before the kiss landed.
Following the program, the R & B singer was excoriated by many as transphobic.
Missed is the fact that they just witnessed a #metoo moment, but ignored it because of the P.C. fascination with sexual deviancy.

The Supreme Court has decided to refrain from intervening in Mississippi’s religious freedom law.
Upholding the decision of the decision of the 5th Circuit, which based its decision on the grounds that there were no instances of discrimination in the state.
When the law was passed the Human Rights Campaign, the largest lobby for the sexual deviancy crowd, squealed that millions of homosexual Mississippians would suffer discrimination. I found that kind of puzzling because there are only three million people in the entire state of Mississippi and pretty sure they’re not all homosexual.

Iranian Revolution
“Come, see a man who told me all that I ever did. Can this be the Christ?” John 4:29 (ESV)
Iranian citizens have launched protests against Iran’s corrupt Islamic theocratic regime as the country reels from crippling sanctions that have thrust much of their population into joblessness and poverty.
Unbeknownst to many, Iran is currently experiencing an outbreak of evangelism that has resulted in thousands of Iranians converting to Christianity day by day.
Could it be, the spread of the Gospel is contributing to the hunger for freedom in the Iranian people?
The Bible says freedom flows where the Spirit is LORD.

While receiving the lifetime achievement award at the Golden Globes Oprah Winfrey gave a speech that moved the Hollywood crowd so they stepped over one another to coronate her as the next U.S. President.
Though she is a powerful and talented media figure, I won’t join the chorus.
The Oprah is one of the chief evangelists of new age paganism and celebrity has been her means of transmission.
President…? I say, "No, thank you."

6th graders at Fox Chapel Middle School in Spring Hill, FL were surveyed concerning their comfort levels with the following scenarios:
“A friend invites you to a gay bar,”
“At the gay bar a person of the same sex invites you to dance,”
“You find your teen brother kissing a boy,”
“Your next door neighbors are lesbian”
“Your mother comes out to you.”
The teacher, Daryl Cox, instructed the students not to tell their parents about the survey. Gratefully one student told. But, what if they didn’t?
This isn’t education. This is indoctrination.

Filled for Function
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." Acts 1:8 (ESV)
The power proclaimed by Jesus here was proscribed for a specific purpose… so His disciples would become His witnesses.
The greek word for “witnesses” here is martyreusu, which is where our English word martyr is derived.
Jesus has given us the blessing of the indwelling Spirit of God, not merely for personal consumption but for function.
As good as it feels to be filled with God’s Spirit, we were filled for function.

“Jabez was more honorable than his brothers; and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, ‘Because I bore him in pain.’” 2 Timothy 3:13 (KJV)
Here you a have mother languishing in terrible circumstances. Times were so difficult she even considered her own son to be a burden.
Not only that, she named the boy “sorrowful" or “pain” because she saw his birth as another set back.
But the scripture shows us, though the boy was born into less than ideal circumstances he zoomed beyond predetermined expectations.
Regardless of the conditions you’re born into God can empower you to transcend your environment. Though his mother called him “pain,” God called him honorable.
