Jeff Chamblee: Welcome to Real Truth for Today with Pastor Jeff Schrieve, senior pastor of First Baptist Church in Texarkana, Texas. Now, here's Pastor Jeff.
Pastor Jeff Schreve: Well, good Tuesday morning, and welcome to Real Truth for today. Pastor Jeff Schrieve here. Hope you're having a wonderful morning. You know, something I like to do in my quiet time, I was introduced to this early in my Christian life, and that is to read five psalms a day and to read a proverb a day. Now, have I done that perfectly since, I got saved at 17? I'm 64 years old. No. But I try and make that a part of my quiet time. Maybe I don't read, especially when I get to Psalm 119. Maybe I'm not reading five Psalms a day. Psalm 119 is very, very long. But I try and read in the Psalms every day and read a proverb a day. 31 Proverbs, as my, discipleship leader told me. Just kind of tongue in cheek. But a proverb a day keeps the devil away. Proverbs teaches us wisdom. Psalms. The NewSong Testament quotes a lot from Psalms. And so you learn a lot, about the Lord. You learn a lot about life from the Psalms. so much of what David shares in the Psalms is just the rawness of his heart. God, where are you? I'm struggling. I'm in difficulty here. enlighten my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death, as he says in Psalm 13, one of my favorite Psalms. I preached on that years ago, and I called that message. When God seems a million miles away, what do you do? You trust him. Even though you don't go by your feelings, you go by faith. you know, truth is not what you think. It's not what you feel. It's not what you want it to be. It is what God says, and the Lord has told us. Hebrews chapter 13. I will never leave you, nor will I ever forsake you. So in my quiet time today, I read from Psalm 85. It's a Psalm of the sons of Korah, a great psalm, not very long, but a great psalm and especially, great for us to encourage our hearts today. It was Corrie Ten Boom, I believe, who said this. If you look around, you'll get distressed. If you look within, you'll get depressed. But if you look above, you'll be blessed. And that's what the Bible tells us to do. To fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith. Look to him. And, not to look around. We need to be aware of what is going on around us. We, we need to be like the sons of Issachar, men who understood the times and what Israel should do. But we need to keep our eyes fixed on him. Proverbs 21:1, says, the king's heart is like channels of water in the hand of the Lord. He turns it wherever he wishes. That's why it's important for us to pray for our leaders to pray for President Trump and Vice President J.D. vance and Marco Rubio, who has such an important job, and Pete Hegseth, our Secretary War. And, on and on down the line. We need, Mark Wayne Mullin, who now heads up Homeland, Security. And we need to be praying for those people, Thom Holman, those people that are making key decisions, and especially as it relates to the war with Iran. God give wisdom. God give victory. So keep our eyes fixed on the Lord. When we do that, we are blessed, and God is the God of hope. When all things seem to be against you in your personal life, when things seem to be against us in our nation as believers wanting righteousness to rule and reign in our country, and we see so many things, it's like the dyke is crumbling before our eyes. What do we do? Well, we don't lose heart. We pray. As Jesus said in Luke 18, Men ought always to pray and not to lose heart, not to faint, not to throw in the towel. So Psalm 85, a Psalm of the sons of Korah, O Lord, all in caps. O Yahweh, you showed favor to your land. You restored all the captivity of Jacob. He brought them back from Babylon. You forgave the iniquity of your people. You covered all their sin. Selah. We read that a lot in the Book of Psalms. most people think it means pause. It's like a rest in music. You know, as you are playing music, all of a sudden you have a rest. It doesn't mean you're tired. It means that you don't play here. and I love that because it's almost like God is saying, when you hit those things, it's like God is saying, okay, you need to rest here. You need to ponder what was just said. You forgave the iniquity of your people. You covered all their sin and what God did for them. God can do for you, he can do for me, he can do for us. How wonderful that our sins can be forgiven, that our sins can be covered. They don't even show. The Lord buries them in the deepest sea and he never brings them back up again. Goes on to say this, you withdrew all your fury. You turned away from your burning anger toward Judah. Restore us, O God, of our salvation and cause your indignation toward us to cease. Will you be angry with us forever? Will you prolong your anger to all generations? Will you not yourself revive us again that your people may rejoice in you? What a great prayer. Show us your loving kindness, O Lord, and grant us your salvation. Psalm 85, verses one through seven. Now, I encourage myself. I spend a lot of time trying to keep abreast of what's going on in our world as I share real truth for today and try and look at things from a biblical perspective. Okay, this is happening. That is happening. The other is happening. How are we to view this from a biblical perspective? Now, I heard Jon MacArthur, who's in heaven now, I have tremendous respect for him. Learned a lot from him. Don't agree with him on his Calvinism, but learned a lot, from Jon MacArthur and continued to do so. If I'm going to preach a passage of Scripture, I'm going to look to see what he had to say about that, because he is great, especially good at giving context. When I preached through the Gospel of Jon, he gave such context into to what was being said, why it was being said, what was going on at that time. But, Jon MacArthur said, to his congregation, he said, hey, in this world, we, as Christians, we lose. And it was kind of a shocking statement. And what he meant by that is, when you look to see what does the Bible say is coming, in the future. Well, in the future, you're going to have a one world government. You're going to have a one world leader. Christianity does not prevail, through the church. Christianity prevails through the Lord Jesus Christ. So he's saying we lose before we win. And, what do you have in Revelation? You have Revelation, chapter 6, the martyrdom of believers. The Antichrist is going to be killing, Christians right and left. Now people are going to be saved during the tribulation period. But they're going to be mowed down. The victory comes in revelation, chapter 19. When the Lord breaks through the clouds. He comes riding a white horse and he defeats his enemies with the sharp sword that goes out of his mouth. He just speaks a word. He's called the Word of God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. And we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. Jon says in Jon 1:14, well, when he comes back, there's a sharp sword that goes forth from his mouth. Now it's not a literal sword, it's the sword of the Word of God. The Word of God is living and active and sharper than any two edged sword. The writer of Hebrews tells us in Hebrews 4:12. And the word that spoke these people into existence will speak them into oblivion. And the Lord defeats his enemies with the power of his Word. And then he sets up his kingdom. This idea that some have that you know, the church is going to usher in the kingdom and you know, evil is going to be overcome by good. And you know, we don't need to worry about the things going on. Well, we do need to be concerned about the things going on. We need to be abreast of what is going on. As I go back in my mind, I shared this with my wife Debbie just the other day. I think about what Pastor Robert Jeffress said when I was at an AFR event in Sylacauga, Alabama. He was there and he said, listen, he said, this is what we're doing. We're trying to preserve our culture and the freedom to preach the gospel for as long as we can. Because it's like this. There's a dike that is starting to break and the water is threatening to go over the dike and crumble. There's a village down below and there are lots of people that live there. And he said, we are trying to hold up the dike as long as we can so that we can save as many as we can in that village below. Because when the dike goes, those people are all going to be ground as the water will overflow them and destroy them. And so I think that is a good picture. We realize we are not going to, in this idea of Christian, nationalism, they use that as a pejorative. And you guys are so terrible and blah, blah, blah, and you are going to usher in the kingdom I don't believe that. I believe what's coming to the next thing on God's prophetic calendar is the rapture of the church. And then what follows? The rapture of the church, the revealing of the Antichrist, and the tribulation period. He signs a treaty with the Jews, for, for, one week, Not a week of days, but a week of years, seven years. And, they're going to be saying peace and safety. And people are going to think, well, this guy is wonderful. And there will be those that saying, this is the Messiah. Look what he's done. He's brought peace to the Middle East. But as the Bible teaches in Second Thessalonians, chapter two, that in the middle of the week, Daniel nine, he's going to break that treaty. He's going to go into the temple of God. The Jews will rebuild the temple during those first three and a half years and sacrifices will start again. But at the middle point, he's going to declare himself as God. He's going to shut down all sacrifices. He's going to say, I am God. You worship me and only me. He's going to make people get the mark of the beast, the 666, on their right hand or on their forehead. And, if you don't get the mark of the beast, he will kill you. And then he wages war to destroy Israel. Israel is, We have people today, they hate Israel. Israel is not going anywhere. Israel is going to be kept by the power of God. And, just when it looks like Revelation 19, just when it looks like, the Antichrist and all his forces have assembled and Israel is going to be destroyed and there's no hope. Remember what I've told you. Why is Israel so important? Because God has made promises to Israel. And if those, if Israel ceases to exist, if they are wiped off the map from the river to the sea, we wipe Israel off the map. if that happens, then God's promises can't come true that he made to Israel, then Jesus can't sit on the throne of his father David, because there would be no throne of David. Israel would not exist anymore. If God's promises to Israel can't come true because Israel is not around anymore, then God is a God who couldn't keep his promises. God, he's a welcher on his promises. the Bible says in Hebrews chapter six that it's impossible for God to lie. And if God says, I'm going to do this in the future, you can take it to the Bank. He is going to do it. So Israel is very, very critical. The devil hates Israel. And he knows if I can take out isra, I can topple God from his throne of holiness and perfection and faithfulness and trustworthiness and God will cease to be God. That is the whole game plan in the mind of the evil one. That's why he hates Israel and those who jump, on the bandwagon of anti Semitism, guess what? You're being squeezed into the devil's moat. You're following in his footsteps. You're believing the lies of the enemy and you're not seeing the bigger picture. It's not that the Jews do everything right. It's not that, we support them in everything they say and do. you know, so many of the Jews don't even believe in God. But we know that God has made promises to Israel. God always has a remnant. And God is going to turn his attention back on Israel during the tribulation period. They are going to be the witnesses that God intended them to be. Well, you're listening to Real Truth for today. I'm, your host, Pastor Jeff Schrieve, the pastor of First Baptist Church in Texarkana, Texas, and the founder of From His Heart Ministries. From His Heart is heard every weeknight at 6pm Central Time right here on American Family Radio. We'll be right back after the break.
: Candace talks about finding out she was pregnant. Thankfully, an ultrasound provided by PreBorn allowed her to hear her baby's heartbeat.
Jeff Chamblee: The sonogram sealed the deal for me. My baby was like this tiny little spectrum of hope and I saw his heart beating on the screen and knowing that there's life growing inside. I mean, that sonogram changed my life. I went from just Candace to Mom. Thank you to everybody that has given these gifts. You guys are giving more than money. You guys are giving love.
: Preborn currently has clinics that do not have ultrasound machines. Would you consider a leadership gift and sponsor a machine today? These life Saving machines cost $15,000 more than most centers can afford. Your donation will save countless lives for years to come. Dial 250 and say the keyword baby or go to preborn.com afr.
Jeff Chamblee: This is real truth for today. Podcasts of the program are available on the podcast [email protected] now back to Pastor Jeff Schrieve.
Pastor Jeff Schreve: Welcome back to the program, Pastor Jeff. Here we're talking about the power that we have as believers to call upon the name of the Lord and to make a difference as salt and Light in America. My guest yesterday, Rod Martin, he made the statement that we desperately need to engage in the cultural battle, as Christians, for the soul of America. Because if we don't, who is going to do that? We, as believers in Jesus, as those who, are indwelt by the Holy Spirit of God, who. We are the salt and we are the light. And if the salt doesn't engage, and if the light doesn't, come out from under the bushel basket and shine, well, then we're going to lose, what the Lord has for us in our country, and our country will cease to exist. I ran across, this quote or this little speech by Dr. Sheila Nazari, and she's become very, popular on conservative, platforms and things because she grew up in Iran and she experienced, and her family experienced what happened with the takeover as the Islamists joined with the Marxists to topple the Shah of Iran. And then she said, you know, that was, politics makes strange bedfellows, and the enemy of my enemy is my friend, as the statement goes. And so they teamed together to topple the Shah of Iran. And then the Islamist killed off the Marxists and anyone else who had threatened their power. And now you have what you have in Iran, which is a brutal, oppressive regime of darkness and destruction and death. And, they. They so want to get a nuclear weapon so that they can use it, so that they can fire it against Israel, the little Satan. And America, the great Satan. Well, this is what she had to say, as far as, wake up, America. Wake up, world. This is what is going on.
Speaker F: If you think America is the problem, you have no idea what the world looks like without America. And if you think Israel is the problem, you have no idea what the Middle east looks like without Israel. Israel is not just a Jewish state. Israel is the front line. And every Iranian knows the chant that I, too, was made to chant when I was growing up in Iran. Death to Israel. Death to America. Not one or the other. Both. Israel is the small Satan. America is the great Satan. Why? Because the enemies of Israel understand something that too many Americans do not. Israel and America are connected. They are connected by the belief that the individual matters more than the state, that women are not property, that minorities have rights, that you can question your leaders, that you can change your government, that you can worship freely, speak freely, that your life belongs to you, that God is God and no government or school or ideology will take the place of God.
Pastor Jeff Schreve: Amen to that. She says some great things, and she comes from a perspective, especially, with what's going on right now in our world. She comes from a perspective of saying, I have seen this play out before right before my eyes. What is going on in America with the Islamists and the Marxists getting together to topple capitalism and to change things, fundamentally change America. These young people that have been taught that socialism is good. I, mean, you've checked your brains at the door. All you have to do is a, quick history of socialism. It is destructive everywhere it goes. And if you see what happened in Iran, if you want to live in a country like that and you combine the Marxists with the Islamists, guess what? eventually if you gain power, the Marxists will be killed by the Islamists, the Islamists will take over, and, there will be Sharia law everywhere. And it's going to be very, very difficult to live in that environment, especially as a Christian. I asked, AI the other day, how would it work if I went to Saudi Arabia and wanted to plant a Christian church? And AI said, basically, you'd have zero chance of doing that in Saudi Arabia. They don't allow you to do that. Now they want to come over and say, hey, we have religious freedom and we're just a religion and we're oppressed and you're Islamophobic and blah, blah, blah. And so we bend over backwards to help them. They take advantage of that and they use it for, nefarious gains. So Sheila Nazarian, who's a, she's a medical doctor, a plastic surgeon in, Beverly Hills area, she has great things to say. Well, here's the situation now. The Democrats, some of those who've been beating the drum for, progressivism for so long, big name Democrats, James Carville, Bill Maher, Vanliere Jones, they're starting to wake up to this evil alliance between the Communists and the Muslims coming together. And they're saying, whoa, time out. This is a bridge too far for us. We can't be a part of this. And, so here is a clip with Vanliere Jones and Bill Maher, talking about the. What is going on today in the Democrat Party. I am tired, tired, tired. That's Vanliere Jones. A set of people on the very far left in the Democratic Party. Ideas that are literally insane, nutty, moronic, dangerous, bigoted, are not progressive, they're regressive, and they should not be in our party.
Speaker G: I'm not living in communist America. I mean, I know the talking point is it's not communism, it's Socialism. Okay, I've read the quotes from the DSA platform from their own mouths. Don't tell me I'm not seeing what I am seeing. They say things like, you know, takeover of key industries, government. That's communism.
Speaker H: And this comes amid reports of tension between Bernie Sanders and Hakeem Jeffries. Bernie Sanders is personally calling the socialist Senator, telling him to send stop meddling in Democratic primaries. But Sanders wasn't taking his orders. Over the weekend Bernie teamed up with far left Michigan Senate candidate Alex from a CNN report for a campaign rally. That was a doozy.
Caroline: Watch here brothers and sisters. Let me tell you, Bernie Sanders, change is coming. Progressives have been defeating establishment candidates all across America.
Pastor Jeff Schreve: Now brothers and sisters, he's supporting a Muslim.
Caroline: The entire country is watching this election so there's an enormous responsibility on your shoulders.
Pastor Jeff Schreve: So speaking at a rally in Michigan and speaking on behalf of a Muslim and you have, if you've noticed you have a lot more Muslim M candidates now and how do they run? And they're going to almost always run under the banner of being a Democrat and being a, ah, Democratic socialist, which is a nice fancy term for a communist. And so you have the Marxists together with the Islamists. Just exactly what Sheila Nazarian said happened in Iran when they overthrew the Shah in 1979 and took a wonderful country and turned it into, into dystopian nightmare. Well that is starting to alarm some of the establishment Democrats. What do we do now? This is a runaway train. I don't know how you get the tube back in the bottle and, or back in the however that goes, you know, the toothpaste back in the tube. And so it's kind of out there and the devil is pushing, pushing harder and hard. And it's amazing to me how people are so easily deceived. the Bible says 2 Timothy 3:13 but evil men and imposters will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. And we have so many deceived people. Well, there was an interesting exchange the other day. Laura Ingraham had Victor Davis Hanson on her program and he was talking, they were talking about this takeover and what is going on and how people that should know better are jumping on the bandwagon for this evil combination of Islamists and Marxists. This is what they had to say.
Speaker H: Victor. It's enjoyable for me personally. I don't want to take pleasure in the fact that Vanliere Jones and, and Joe Scarborough are agonizing about what's unfolding. But they have no one to blame, am I correct here? But themselves.
Victor Davis Hansen.: Oh yeah, they gave in to the hysteria. It's kind of like MeToo or the George Floyd hysteria with BLM and Antifa. They rode that wave and now all of a sudden they're thinking, what am I doing? I remember what happened to Goldwater. I remember what happened to McGovern. They're going to take our party over the cliff because it's really a top down, it's not a bottom up, grassroots Tea Party like movement. Laura these are very mostly 85% of the Democratic socialists are white and they're affluent in their degree. They're just angry that they live in these enclaves and they can't afford a condo or a, lifestyle they think their education has, should have guaranteed them. So it's a lot of envy. And then it's so incoherent. They talk about they're in a so socialist atheist, agnostic movement. And then they embrace because they want something edgy and committed. So they embrace one of the most intolerant, religions there are, radical Islam. They're just incompatible. So it's just a big mess. But it's basically a lot of urban people who think this message is cool and neat and will give them free stuff. But it's not coming from people in Appalachia or the other Ozarks or the San Joaquin Valley, I can guarantee you that. And they're worried this establishment because they thought they could write it. When you have Ro Khanna being exposed talking about the failures of capitalism when his wife drives a $200,000 Range Rover, or Gavin Newsom saying capitalism has failed when he lives in a nine million dollar house. or Hasan Piker, the one that's in a Mao suit.
Caroline: Suit.
Victor Davis Hansen.: Wearing the suit of the greatest mass murderer in history while he drives a Porsche Targa, it's pretty incoherent. I think the people in the Democratic Party establishment are starting to wake up and seeing this could be an ungodly disaster.
Pastor Jeff Schreve: Yeah, that's the socialist, monster. Those two groups getting together. And I have friends that are educators, so many in the school system. I don't know what has happened to them, but I guess they were indoctrinated in their colleges, but they come to the public school system and they just buy all this drivel that they've been taught that communism is the way to go social. Well, it's not communism because communism is bad. So it's democratic socialism it's the same thing, and, it destroys everything it. It touches, and it makes life, miserable for the masses. He had talked about, this guy that was talking about, Mao, Zedong, that he was such a great leader. Ted, Cruz pointed out on the X platform, yeah, he killed like 70 million people. let's not leave that part out, because all the. The wonderful things that this guy was saying about him, it's like you left that part out. that's a pretty big piece. Well, somebody sent me, I get things sent to me pretty often, and somebody sent me a video, and, you know, I don't always have time to watch all the videos that get sent, but this guy sent me this, and I did look at it, and it was excellent. It was from Bishop Patrick Wooden Senior. He's the pastor of Upper Room Church in, Raleigh, North Carolina. He's been there for 38 years. I checked him out with Bishop B.W. jackson. He goes, oh, yeah, I know him. He's a great conservative. And, he had this to say to his church. Primarily black. He's a black man. And this is what he said to his church. Eye opening.
Speaker L: Are we actually in a place where the only way you can be black and stand with your people. People is to be a Democrat? Now, if that's where we are, we're the dumbest people on the face of the planet, and we're the only people in America who operate that way. You can be white and be a Republican or Democrat, Hispanic and be a Republican or Democrat, Praise the Lord, whatever. And be a Republican or Democrat. But if you're black, if you're black, the only way you can be an authentic black person is to be a Democrat. That's stupid.
Speaker F: Yes.
Speaker L: And you know what it means. It means, that explains why we spend half the time, or maybe even more, out of power. I've said for years we need to operate politically. And I want to make this clear in a way where both parties will compete for our vote. When one party knows that they're going to get your vote no matter what, you get nothing from that party. When another party knows that they're not going to get your vote no matter what, you get nothing from that party. So then you end up in no man's land. We are not married to the Democrat Party. People have a right to choose. And if you choose to be a Democrat, if you choose to be a Republican, if you choose to be independent, as I am, that doesn't make you more black. Nor less black. It means you're an American participating in the process. And God is on our side. Now, if we want to talk about whose side God is on, it's the Democrats who are pushing same sex marriage. It's the Democrats who are pushing letting children get mutilated. Little 8 year old boys getting turned into girls. Girls. It's the Democrats who are, 100% in their platform behind abortion and abortion rights up till the time of birth. If we start talking about whose side God is on, you got to dismiss most of the scripture to be a Democrat.
Pastor Jeff Schreve: Well, that was Bishop Patrick Patrick Wooden Sr. I would say amen to all of that. Well, you're listening to Real Truth for today. Pastor Jeff Schrieve here. We're talking about hope that we have in Jesus and the power that he's given us to pray and to be salt and light and to make a difference. When we come back from the break, we'll be taking your calls. 888-589-8840. That's 888-589-8840. Give me a call and let's talk.
Jeff Chamblee: If you'd like to contact Pastor Jeff, email pastor jeffromhishheart.org now back to Real Truth for today with Pastor Jeff Schrieve.
Pastor Jeff Schreve: Welcome back to the program. Pastor Jeff here we've been talking about, the hope we have in Jesus, the open invitation from the Lord to come boldly before his throne of grace to receive mercy and to find grace to help in time of need. And so as we closed out the last segment, I was playing that clip from Bishop, Patrick Wooden Sr. The pastor for 38 years, Upper Room in Raleigh, North Carolina. He's a black pastor. He stands for truth. he's a faithful watchman on the wall. As I mentioned, I had asked, Bishop Jackson, my friend Bishop E.W. jackson today. I said, do you know him? And he said, yes. He said we gave him an award for, in his organization, stand for being a pastor who stands up for the truth. And I said, well, when I listened to his sermon, I said it sounded like something you would say. And he sounds like my kind of guy. And Bishop, said, yeah, he's one of us. He's a warrior for the truth. Well, I wanted to finish that little clip. We had to cut it off, because of time. But he was talking about how, you know, whose side is God on? God is not a Republican. God is not a Democrat. God is not, an independent. As far as a Party goes, God is God. You know, as, Joshua said in Joshua chapter five, when he was walking, around Jericho, before they, they went, on that campaign to march and take Jericho, he sees the angel of the Lord with his sword drawn. He said, are you for us or for our adversaries? And he said, no, I come as captain of the Lord of hosts. Take your shoes off, Joshua. The place on which you're standing is holy ground. And, the Lord doesn't come to take sides. He came to take over. Who? The question Moses asked, who is on the Lord's side? We need to find out, where the Lord's side is and get on that side. Obviously, the Lord's side is not with, with pro abortion, abortion on demand. It's not with the gender mutilation of confused children. It is not for lawlessness. That's not the Lord's side. And this is, Bishop Patrick Wooden Senior finishing that message.
Caroline: Well.
Speaker L: Well, there are other things. What other things? What's more important than life? Trump ain't no good. Yeah, but he signed an executive order to protect Christians. He's no good. But the polls show that Christianity now has leveled off and is going back on the rise again since he's been in office. You just got to do your home homework. Now you start talking about whose side God is on. No, the question not whose side, God is on.
Caroline: I'm.
Speaker L: The question is the question. Moses asked, who's on the Lord's side?
Caroline: Amen.
Pastor Jeff Schreve: So I appreciate him. I may try and get him on the program one day. Bishop Patrick Wooden Senior, the pastor of Upper Room in Raleigh, North Carolina. He's been there for 38 years. And, he's. He's despised by the, the liberals, just as they despise Bishop Jackson, just as they hate American Family Radio and, Tim Wildmon and folks that stand up for the truth and, they love Pastor Jeff, but Tim. Tim's a little suspect now. Just teasing. And they hate all of us. I mentioned yesterday as I was talking to Rod Martin, I said, okay, people have a special hatred for Donald Trump. They have Trump derangement syndrome. We hadn't seen that with other candidates. People didn't have that. They didn't have Ronald Reagan derangement, syndrome. They didn't have George Bush derangement syndrome. Donald Trump is such a lightning rod. But when Donald Trump goes off the scene when his term is over and you have Marco Rubio or J.D. vance or whoever is going to be the Republican candidate, the conservative candidate, Are they going to all of a sudden embrace him? No, they're going to hate him, too. They just hate anybody that stands up for righteousness. my friend, Charles Lowry, he was talking to pastors and he, was talking, this was some years ago, but, he used, he had a little Q tip, you know, that you use to clean your ears. And he said, guys, when things get tough at church, he goes, remember, Q tip? Quit taking it personally. It's not that the people dislike you personally. They dislike the pastor who is making changes in the church because people, by and large don't like change. And so now you can be obnoxious as a pastor. You can do things without grace, and compassion and things like that. That can cause people to really, get riled up. But if you're going to lead, people, you're going to have opposition. That's just the nature of the beast. I'm doing a sermon called Unbelieving Believers in August. And we're going to go through, key passages in the Book of Numbers. Moses was a great leader. He was the most humble man, on the earth. The Bible says about him. Well, the people, there were those that came up against him. There were those who hated him. They would grumble and gripe and complain about Moses. And, you know, it was hard to be Moses, but the Lord would defend Moses. And when Korah and, that team went up against Moses, Numbers chapter 16, God opened up the earth. God showed whose side who was on the Lord's side, and it was Moses. It was not, Korah and his posse. And the ground opened up and swallowed those guys. And you know what's so amazing about that read in number 16? Afterward, the people got mad at Moses because you, they said you were the cause of the death of these guys. Well, Moses doesn't have the power to open up the earth. God did that. And the people should have fallen on their faces and repented. Well, we are going to the phone lines 888-589-8840. That's triple 858-98840. If you have a question or a comment, I would love to hear from you. And we have Heywood on the line from Mississippi. Heywood, welcome to Real Truth for today.
Caroline: Yes, good morning. Love your show. I'll be straight to the point. God is on the side of the righteous that m believe in him and what he did at Calvary. And I did some study years ago. I spent a couple of years in the Middle East. God is not on Islam's side. They. They proclaim God, but it's not our God. Right. And people need to get that through their head, because they have a protocol called takiya. Well, it's more of a doctrine than a protocol. Takiya means to lie in Arabic. So when you hear a Muslim speaking, they are lying. That's why we can't make a deal with Iranians. They're such hardcore Islamists, they're going to lie. They may make a deal, but they never keep it. And American people need to educate themselves of what Islam really is and remember that Jesus is not on their side. Amen.
Pastor Jeff Schreve: Amen to that. Yeah. They. They worship a false God. They are, you know, I've said this many, many times. So Islam is satanic. It is a satanic deception. The people believe it. they. They have taken Tylenol laced with cyanide. We feel for those people because they are blind and they are deceived. And now, they're being used by the enemy. People are not the enemy. They're used by the enemy. The enemy is the devil. And so Muslims are the mission field. If you work or live by Muslim, people, what is the response, of a Christian toward those people? We love them, we shine, we share, we tell them the truth about Jesus. We live it out before them, and recognize that they have believed a lie, a lie that's going to take them to hell. But they've also believed a lie that is dangerous to those around them. Because as one man said, in an interview I listened to just a couple of weeks ago, he said, you Christians don't understand this. You Americans don't understand this. Islam is not a religion. It has a religion, but it's not a religion. It's more than a religion. It is a worldview. And it wants to take over and set up Sharia law. And to dominate Islam means submission. And it is going to say, you submit, you bend the knee, or we will subjugate you or kill you. That's what it does. It is different. And Bill Maher gets this. It's different than anything else. It is the exact opposite of Christianity, and it's got the devil's fingerprints all over it. So we preach hard about the evils and the, demonic nature of Islam. And we pray for Muslims who are deceived by that. And we pray for Americans who are deceived by that and who are thinking, hey, we can join together, the far left, progressives, the socialists, and the Islamists. Hey, let's come together and topple, capitalism and topple the American way and rewrite the Constitution and it's going to end in disaster. And so Christians need to stand up, we need to sound the alarm, we need to pray, we need to get involved from the lowest, levels in local government. We need to be involved and we need to, be vigilant and we need to hold up the dike, as I said, hold up the dike as long as we can. When the Lord takes us out at the Rapture, I mean, that dike is coming down, and there's going to be nobody to stop the Antichrist from coming on the scene and taking power. So we have an opportunity right now to make, as big an impact as possible for the kingdom to take as many people as we can, to heaven with us as we share the gospel as we shine and share. So thank you, Haywood. God bless you, my brother. We have Starla on the line from Louisiana. Starla, welcome to Real Truth for today.
Caroline: Thank you, Pastor. How are you today?
Pastor Jeff Schreve: I'm doing well, thank you.
Caroline: Okay. I just had a, I'll try to make it brief. the gentleman before talked about the Muslim, and their desire is to die a martyr's death. And what America is not realizing. One God said the world would be destroyed by fire next time, not, not water. And they are not realizing that there is a Muslim owned gas station on every corner in this United States. If they wanted to blow up the United States, they could already do it if they called holy Jihad.
Pastor Jeff Schreve: Yeah, I hadn't thought about that. They do own a lot of gas stations. you know, I heard, but I heard Bill Federer say this and I think, it was really insightful. And Bill Federer, the historian, has been on the program a number of times, but he said you have radical Muslims who want to usher in the 12th Imam, the Mahdi. And, the Iranians believe, hey, he comes when things are disruptive and everything and they want to be the source of that. we're going to bring Sharia law to every place. And if you don't, you know, you don't, bow down, we'll destroy you, that kind of thing. And then you have those that think, well, yeah, that's coming. But it's, it's, it's way, way down the road. He said, what happens? And he was pointing to America. He says, what happens in America when you see these guys and they're getting to be, they're getting elected to positions of power and they're talking about death to America in. In America, in Dearborn, Michigan and other places. He said, the more moderate Muslims start to say, well, wait, maybe peace comes in our day, and maybe we are going to see Sharia everywhere and Islam conquer in our day. And he said, some of the moderate Muslims, as they see the advances of the radical Muslims, they can get on the bandwagon for that because their allegiance is to Islam, and it is to the teachings of the Quran, which are evil and which are satanic. And the devil is a master liar. the Devil is going to, masterfully weave in lies. He'll have a little bit of truth in there. Truth mixed with error, and the error ends up taking over. And so we need to be vigilant and we need to be, prayerful and, not afraid because we know, as Jon MacArthur said, we lose in this life, but we win in the end. So you lose the battle, but you win the war, because, Jesus is the conqueror. But in all these things, Romans 8:37 says, we overwhelmingly conquer through him who loved us. So thank you for that, Starla. I appreciate that. we have one last call. I'm sorry, we're not going to be able to get to everybody but our friend Linda from Texas. Linda, what's the word for today?
Caroline: first of all, just bless you and your ministry. but, I just. I'm going to. I wrote this down, so I'll just read it. Okay? M. What he spoke, speaking to me for years is good habits become good lifestyles. And then I wanted to say how I start my day. I take 15 minutes to just praise the Lord before I start anything else. Next thing I do is listen to Jenna, Ellis and you. And then I take notes because three of us get together to pray every Wednesday. And I use these notes, you know, Then the next thing I do is read my Bible and I end with prayer.
Pastor Jeff Schreve: Amen to that. That is a great way to start the day. Well, Linda, I appreciate you so much. Connor, I'm sorry we didn't get to you in Texas. the trumpets haven't sounded yet. And so, your question about how many of the trumpets have sounded? None yet. The scrolls haven't been broken yet. Revelation 6 has not begun yet. everything is triggered off of the rapture of the church. Revelation 4, where Jon heard the sound of a trumpet, the voice of a man, like the sound of the trumpet saying, come up here. And I think that's a picture of the rapture. Well, God bless you. Thank you for listening to Real Truth for today. Pastor Jeff Schrieve here. I'll be with you again tomorrow. God bless.
